Vegeta had made it back to earth on a cool winter afternoon. It had been three and a half months, and he had considered refueling the spaceship and getting out of there for another few months since he had not yet achieved his goal. After toiling with these ideas, his new strategy would be to gain more strength in even higher gravity so he would need the woman to upgrade the gravity room as soon as possible.

Vegeta entered the house and found Panchy there to greet him.

"Oh, Vegeta, honey welcome home! Here come sit down, you must be just famished, I will whip you up some sub sandwiches." Vegeta wasn't going to argue with her since he had grown tired of the ship's food supply.

"Where is your daughter?" Vegeta asked after quickly finishing his first sandwich.

"Oh, hun, I think she is still in her room. She and Yamcha had an argument this morning, and I think they might be going their separate ways for good this time. She might not be down any time soon dear, she is pretty worn out, even I couldn't get her to eat some of these chocolate swirl cupcakes, and they are one of her favorites!

"Hmm. Humans with their fragilities."

"Oh Vegeta, one thing you will learn about women is that we may be fragile and have emotions but that's a part about us that makes us powerful too. And just because we feel more deeply than men do and because we wear our emotions on our sleeves doesn't mean that we're not strong."

"Hmmm" Vegeta grunted, and he turned on his heel but before he could leave, he was given two cupcakes by Panchy, he hesitantly took them and turned to head towards Bulma's room. He wasn't going to waste any time while the woman sulked.

Vegeta stopped outside Bulma's door and could already hear the sniffling woman. He knocked on her door three times with the back of his knuckles.

"Woman?"

"Vegeta? Is that you?"

"I have returned, and I need your assistance with the gravity room."

"I'm glad you are home safe." Bulma said with a sniff. "I can help with the gravity room but… not right now, I will be around later."

"Woman, weeping doesn't suit you."

"Just… let me be, I'm busy right now."

"Lying doesn't suit you either, you are not busy, you are in fact wallowing in your own self-pity. Come now I don't have all day. Your mother has given me something to bring you so open the door before I knock it down."

A few moments later Bulma opened the door. Vegeta noticed her eyes were puffy and her face splotchy.

"So, tell me what's going on with the gravity room" she said as she grabbed a cupcake from his hand and turned back to sit down on the edge of her bed.

Vegeta stepped in her bedroom and proceeded to explain what happened to the ship that caused the gravity to go offline. While he was telling her the story, he noticed that Bulma was looking everywhere except at him and was covering her face and mouth with her palm as if she was in distress or about to be sick.

"Vegeta, do you think there's something wrong with me?" choked out Bulma as hot tears leaked from her eyes, and she buried her face in her hands.

He remained silent not knowing what to say. His eyes as large as saucers.

"You… shouldn't be crying over the weakling."

"It hurts."

"What hurts woman?"

It hurts to get your heart broken, and to feel like the fool a hundred times…. He says he loves me, but why do his actions always say I'm just a matter of convenience, and why can't he be faithful? The feeling of inadequacy is… too much. I feel broken and like I will never know what it is like to feel whole.

"Stop it woman, you're making a fool of yourself reciting this nonsense."

"I know but we all can't be perfectly stoic like you, can we?" Bulma said shoving a bite of chocolate cupcake in her mouth, now angry at Vegeta.

"Woman, it is not something I relate to. As such sentiments and attachments are meaningless to me; however, I do know you have a level of… intellect. You should not allow the inferior and philandering weakling to allow you to feel this way. If I was in your situation I would blast him, but since you have no such strength, you should cut your losses and walk away from any attachment you have to this half a man."

"I know. It just hurts so bad… and I'm so angry! I caught him again, sneaking around with another girl and I feel like the world's biggest idiot." Bulma screamed as she crossed her arms around her chest grasping at her shirt in frustration.

"Woman, your so-called pain and feelings of inadequacy—do not say these things and keep yourself in an inner state of victimhood. Nothing has happened to you; everything has happened in cooperation with you. When you spar with another and make a move, your sparring partner has no option than to move along with you. Only you can decide how you will move forward from here. What I'm trying to tell you is, in your case, you have a choice. At least from this point on."

Bulma was surprised to hear Vegeta giving her these words of wisdom. She had no idea he could be introspective enough to share something like this. As she listened, she realized that her life decisions to continue in her relationship with Yamcha, had indeed been her decision for her own reasons, but she could change things moving forward. She could feel it in her soul that it was time to let Yamcha go and close that chapter in her life.

"Yeah, I guess you're right. That was… rather beautiful, Vegeta. Thank you."

"Hmmm. I do not wish to see you in this state again. I do not wish to discuss this either. If you would like me to take care of the weakling for you, just say the word."

"No. I would never wish him harm. He will always be a friend." Bulma said wiping the tears away.

Hmmm. I expect you to assist me with the gravity room within the hour. I don't have time to waste.

"Yeah, I know. I am coming." Bulma said nodding her head and motivating herself to get up.

Vegeta left Bulma behind with his trademark smirk. He didn't know why but it pleased him that weakling would no longer be seen around the woman it seemed.
