Lopunny took the opportunity to attack Malamar once again, hoping to end the madness. She froze the ground in front of her rapidly and skated towards the squid, utilizing mist to obscure her approach. Rushing towards him was a terrifying speed. The sound of the controlled Aggron stomping at her like a crazed rhino pierced through the air.
Aggron burst from the smoke, punching at her as hard as a rocket. She dropped down below the fist, sliding on her back. She slid down the sewers towards Malamar. The psychic type sliced at her with his tentacles but the rabbit was quick to avoid it. Using the strength of her elbows, she punched herself up like she was on a trampoline. Avoiding the attack, she spun around and kicked at Malamar.
Her foot crashed into Malamar's face like a baseball bat. He spat out blood as his vision blacked out for a moment. When he could see again, he was seeing triple everything. In a panic, he released a powerful psychic pulse, pushing Lopunny away. She yelled as she flew through the air. Thinking quickly, she turned in the air and sprayed as much snow as she could from her hands, creating a cushion of frost.
With an adorable, "oomph," she landed in the pile. She quickly hopped out, brushing off some snow from her shoulders. She heard the sound of fire blasting behind her, and just in time, turned around to see Infernape heading towards her. Flames launched him forward at an infernal speed.
He tackled her and then pinned her to the ground. Her arms sizzled as Melting Point was slowly activated, almost granting a preview of her death. Fighting with all her might, she struggled against the burning vice grip of her lover. She screamed as the sound of her flesh sizzled beneath Infernape's hand. Suddenly, an idea made its way into her head. Melting Point was activated by sending flames throughout his body, right? What if she attempted to do the same thing?
She was an ice type. she could survive being frozen. The memories of what Blastoise said the day Infernape got this power began to surface. She recalled the process. Her whole body froze over, steam emitting from her wrists as the heat countered her cold. She then felt her muscles chill, her nerves numb, and her skin freeze. Lopunny took the chance and head-butted the monkey, hitting him square in the head.
Now free from the fire type, she bounced away. She looked at her body as she saw that the form was not what she expected. She could feel her muscles, stiff and inflexible. A death sentence in a fight. She scraped the idea and then though to make it her own. The ice in her body melted but the ice on her skin began to shift in shape. Forming around her wrists and calves and thighs, leaving space for her joints, it was the ice armor from before but she was improving it.
Ice formed around her torso, gaps on her sides formed for flexibility. Snow formed beneath the armor, further solidifying it. Her ears were frozen over. Lopunny thought to come up with a name,
"Ferny! I know you're in there! I know that you are fighting in there but I've got to defend myself. Let's just call this form Freezing Point for now!"
Aggron then struck her in the back. Screaming, she was thrown into a wall, silencing as soon as the impact. The cocky Malamar yelled at her,
"That's what you get for monologuing, you prick!" Lopunny groaned as she emerged from the smoke and dust. Of course she was caught monologuing. Clearing her mind and freezing her back, she stood up and blasted her way towards Aggron. She apologized to him under her breath before swiping up with her leg.
With a loud boom, Aggron was thrown onto his back, crashing into the ground. His body left a crater. She was about to lunge towards Malamar but she felt her shin get grabbed by Aggron and tossed back towards Infernape. She spun around and blocked the oncoming fist from the fire type. She grabbed his wrist and flipped him over. The monkey, as soon as he landed, spun on his palm and kicked her in her side. She yelped in pain but thrusted her hand forward, releasing a large blast of snow into his face, pushing him into the wall.
Tyrantrum blocked Garchomp's oncoming attack. A blast of draconic energy firing forth like a tsunami. As the flames licked against Tyrantrum, Ampharos and Liligant hid behind him, preparing a plan. Ampharos looked back to see his frenzied friend and frowned. Liligant pulled his head back with the gentle touch of a vine. Liligant told him,
"thou has't to help him. I knoweth it's hard to duel thy friends but thou needeth to help. Doth thou has't the ability Static?"
Ampharos never thought about it. He could try to use that to slow down Garchomp. No, she was a ground type. It wouldn't work. Liligant awaited an answer,
"Doth thee?"
"I do," Ampharos confirmed, "It won't work against a ground type."
"It will! Please! thou has't to help that gent. He won't hold out much longer!" She said. Ampharos looked at the T-Rex and saw that indeed, he looked tired. Garchomp's relentless attack was getting to him.
Ampharos sighed to himself. This wasn't going to be fun. If he wanted to help his friend, he had to use his static ability. All he had to do was distract her until he built up enough static to transfer it into her.
He ran from behind Tyrantrum, sprinting towards the ground type. Garchomp growled violently as she refocused his attention on him. She roared as she stomped onto the ground, created a wall of rock, and pushed it towards the electric type. With a rainbow burst of energy, Ampharos mega-evolved and shot around the barrier.
Garchomp caught the electric type and slammed him into the wall. She had followed closely behind the wall to obscure her approach. Ampharos yelled as he felt the hard surface smack into his back like a wrecking ball. He pushed against the dragon type but found himself unable to fight against her. He needed to build up enough static.
He could feel the wool on his back begin to charge up. Malamar then yelled at Garchomp,
"Come on! Paint the walls red, pet!" Garchomp wordlessly nodded as she dragged the electric type with her against the wall. Yelling in pain, Ampharos felt his skin grate against the concrete wall.
Tyrantrum took advantage of his freedom and roared, charging up a beam of energy. He felt the wind soar past him, like a hurricane had started. Looking behind him, he saw that Liligant had start to…dance?
She had started to perform a waltz. In the middle of a fight. However, around her was a thin lime green aura. An aura that was growing brighter by the minute. Tyrantrum recognized what she was doing and signed to her,
"I'm sorry, but hurry up. Ampharos is getting killed out there." Liligant nodded and her dance sped up. Twirling around with her steps and spinning around. With a quick burst of power, her energy boosted even further.
Once she was damn near cocooned by the energy, she stopped her dance. She then held her hand out, holding on to air. Liligant appeared to be holding an invisible stick. Suddenly, her green aura transferred to this invisible stick, revealing that it was a baton. She twirled it around a bit before tossing the glowing stick at Tyrantrum.
It smacked him in his side before absorbing itself into him. The green aura coursed through him. He could feel the boost to his power as he charged up his blast. The energy seemed to crackle and sputter, almost ready to burst at any moment. The blue and yellow mixed seamlessly with the green. Tyrantrum smiled at the grass type before aiming the beam right at Garchomp.
He then quickly changed directions and fired squarely on Malamar. A raging blue, yellow and now green beam soared across the battlefield. Everyone in there turned around to see the blast barreling towards Malamar like a rabid dog. The squid snapped his fingers as Aggron moved to block the beam. The steel type roared as the beam crashed into him. Tyrantrum's heart stopped once he realized what he had hit. He stopped the blast but the damage was done.
Aggron appeared to have been freed from his spell. However, that didn't matter. His eyes were whited out, only the outline of his irises remained. Aggron fell onto the floor. Malamar looked down at the steel type in fright. His breathing intensified significantly.
Lopunny saw the now defenseless squid and smirked confidently. She burst quickly towards Malamar like a rabid animal. A sadistic glint in her eyes. Malamar panicked and formed a shield using his psychic powers. Lopunny's foot crashed into the wall like a missile, cracking the barrier like it was glass. However, it didn't break. Malamar called out behind him,
"Guys! A little help over here!"
Bisharp emerged from the darkness, looking at his comrade,
"I thought you could handle this on your own." he said, his voice with smug arrogance. Malamar snapped at the dark type,
"Just fucking help!"
Lopunny smacked the barrier, catching Bisharp's attention and screeched at him,
"HEY, COWARD! HOW ABOUT YOU COME OUT HERE SO I CAN BLOW A HOLE WHERE YOUR HEART WOULD BE?!" She sounded like an incensed demon, furiously trying to steal his soul. Bisharp rolled his eyes at her,
"Shut it!"
"Bisharp, just help me. She's going to murder me!" Malamar pleaded. Bisharp glared at the ice type hybrid and the unconscious steel type.
Bisharp yelled back towards the darkness,
"Sableye! Come here!" Sure enough, the dark type emerged from the darkness. Sableye was clearly not happy with the situation. He was grumbling to himself while Umbreon shook. Still, he had to be here. He had to fight.
In an unknown cavern in Johto…
Pangoro had finally started recovering from Blastoise's attack. With the Senshi hunting them down, Pangoro and his crew had to hide out in a cavern that was all too familiar to them. Inside this cave was what looked to be some sort of lab with medical equipment and robotics. Pangoro had been hooked up to a bed inside what looked to be some sick combination of a medical ward and a mad scientists testing chamber. Chandelure, the doctor of the group, and by that, I mean the only one here with basic medical knowledge, had been taking care of him. Galvantula was in the other room, watching the news. Carracosta and Gourgeist were helping Chandelure however they could.
"Where the hell's our intel guy?" asked Pangoro, "She was supposed to be here three hours ago!"
"Easy, big guy," said Gourgeist. I'm sure she's fine. All this stuffing happening in the capital's got to keep her tied down."
"Jeez," said Carracosta as he carried a bunch of painkillers towards a bed close to Pangoro, "I didn't think that cult had so many resources. I heard the prime minister is gonna be making a speech soon." Gourgeist rolled her eyes,
"That whore is gonna make our lives hell. She's gonna up the Senshi budget so they'll be all over the place. Still, better than being lab rats."
Pangoro fell silent. Something in his gut was telling him that someone was up. He didn't quite know how to articulate this. There was something amiss. Something in the air. It was eight years ago when his former boss, Nobunaga Yubitsume, was sent into a coma by him. For the first time since, Pangoro felt that sinking feeling, for he knew something the rest of the world didn't know.
"Tell Serperior to get out of Yukishihon as fast as she can," said Pangoro. Gourgeist, Chandelure, and Carracosta all looked at him with surprise.
"Why?" asked Chandelure, "New York says everything is gonna be alright."
"Just do it," demanded Pangoro angrily. Gourgeist starting typing in on her WristOn and walked away to talk to Serperior. In doing so, she past by Galvantula, who waved high. Gourgeist remarked, "Didn't know you were the political type," she said. Galvantula just said,
"Meh, I don't care for it, but it pays to be infor-"
Galvantula fell silent. His face went ghostly pale. He stared at the TV screen before him as if he had fallen into a trance. Gourgeist shivered at the sight,
"Uh, everything okay there, buddy?" Galvantula didn't respond. Gourgeist went over to see what he was looking at…
…Before she too was left frozen in horror.
