5:13pm. Blastoise had taken the people underground. Ground type Pokemon started taking people deep underground as an extra layer of security. Sceptile decided to stay behind to help the wounded. Now, Blastoise was focused on rescuing as many people as he could. He remained in constant communication with the other Senshi in the city. According to them, the entire city was under attack. Every district, no matter how small or how important, was attacked.
The sheer volume of rubble, rebar and destruction on the streets forced him onto the rooftops. It was here that he saw the true scale of the disaster. Dozens if not hundreds of skyscrapers had collapsed all across the city. The Senshi headquarters was close to suffering that same fate. Large parts of it were blown out, but it appeared that the Senshi had successfully managed to gain control of the building. Blastoise briefly made a stop there to be briefed on the situation and to tell them about Greninja's condition.
Apparently, most communications channels were down, and those that remained were rendered completely unusable due to the constant back and forth. From what could be pieces together, this wasn't an isolated attack. Blastoise grimaced. How far did this go? Anxiety began to crawl down his spine. What about Lopunny and the others? There were smack-dab in the middle of this chaos. He wouldn't be able to protect them. He closed his fist tightly and was about to turn to leave, his new goal was to get to Blaziken, save her and everyone in that mall, then fight his way out of the city and go find his daughter.
Then a few black bags were carried out. They were quite big, requiring two people per bag. A zipper covered the length of the bag. Blastoise shakily took a breath and asked, fearful of the worst,
"What happened to them?"
"That's the board. What's left of them anyway." The Senshi explained. Blastoise somber watched as the body bags were taken outside. No matter who they were, no matter how cruel, incompetent, or manipulative they were in life,
There were dead men, and dead men deserve respect, at least for now.
That same Senshi explained further,
"I arrived just in time to see them croak. There was this…thing there." Blastoise immediately grabbed that Senshi by the shoulder,
"What thing?!" He questioned urgently. The Senshi raise his hand,
"I don't fucking know! He was a weird, Machoke-looking guy in a suit! He teleported away before I could do anything." Blastoise had dropped the guy as the pieces began to connect.
This was Donquixote.
Blastoise left them behind and rushed towards the Subarashi mall to help Blaziken. He knew he would have to deal with all of those men surrounding the building but he didn't know how. He couldn't just summon a giant wave and potentially kill innocents. One man couldn't outfight twenty. However, it appeared he didn't need to.
5:25pm. Blaziken and Electivire's fight had taken them outside. The Phantom Corp terrorists had been caught in the crossfire, either burned or electrocuted. At this point, that fiery transformation Blaziken underwent had fizzled out, leaving only her mega evolution. She panted as Electivire stood opposite of her, about twenty feet away. He appeared to be about as tired as she was. Electivire smiled at her as he straightened out. Blaziken grinned,
"This ends here!"
Roots then launched from the ground below Blaziken. They tightly wrapped around her limos and started to crush her. A voice then mocked her from behind,
"Wow, amazing show," Trevenant popped out from behind her, "I think I'll go heal my friend."
Blaziken attempted to burn the root away quickly and run to safety. However, before she could even breathe, she was electrocuted. She jerked and shook in place, unable to scream out in pain. Electivire and Trevenant simply watched like students watching a bully get their comeuppance. Blessedly, Electivire stopped and Trevenant took control.
"Listen, honey. We've got a little problem in our plan. I don't know how, but you managed to make an entire mall's worth of people vanish into thin air. I get it, you want to protect the innocent. But we've got a goal to achieve-" he stopped. Blaziken had spat into his face. She scoffed at him,
"Yeah, a goal to kill them all!" Trevenant wiped away the spit and flicked it away to the floor. His demeanor darkened as he got much closer to her.
The roots then dug into her waist. She screamed in pain, glaring at Trevenant venomously.
"Don't give me any attitude! Now, I'd hate to hurt a hottie like you. Just tell me where they went and this will all be over." he sneered. Blaziken said nothing, refusing to give him even a breath. Trevenant clicked his tongue, "Well, sucks to be you." He snapped his fingers as green light began to shine from the roots, falling into the earth below. Giga Drain. Blaziken could feel something from her being pumped away by the roots. Her own life being drained away. Whenever she tried to burn the roofs, Electivire was there to shock her into submission.
Trevenant finally relented. The roots stopped and Blaziken's head fell. Her breath shaky and hoarse. She glared up at the living tree and scowled, much to his entertainment.
"Let's try this again. Where. Did. The civilians go?"
"I don't know," said Blaziken. Trevenant slashed at her face with his clawed hands, cutting into her flesh,
"Bullshit!" he hissed, "You were in the mall with them. You know where they went. Where did they go?"
"Up your ass and to the left."
Electivire activated his lightning again. Blaziken screamed even louder than before.
"She's a lost cause. Let's just kill her and get this over with." Trevenant raised his hand, silently demanding that Electivire stop. Reluctantly, he did so as Blaziken fell limp. She was barely conscious, struggling to keep her eyes open, her body screaming in pain. Trevenant, with a single finger, lifted Blaziken's head so that she was facing him.
"One last time. Give me answers." Blaziken didn't immediately respond. She glanced up into the air, heaving with every breath. She then looked down into Trenevants eyes.
"Be…Behind you."
"Nice try-"
Water blasted Electivire from behind. He was thrown into Trevenant just as he turned around. The two were blown away, eventually crashing into the remains of a building. A mega evolved Blastoise landed with the force of a wrecking ball. The roots gave out and Blaziken fell to her knees, fizzling out of her mega evolution.
He pulled her up to her feet and helped her stand. He knew that she would never tell them. That was one thing she knew how to do better than anyone. There was a time when she had been captured by Absol's forces and interrogated her for hours yet she never said a word, not even lying to get out of it. She eventually broke out, grabbing everything that looked important, everything that could incriminate Absol. Best part is it worked. The raid was only a week later.
Blaziken looked up at Blastoise and grinned,
"Good to see you holding up, big guy." Blastoise himself, glad to see someone was okay. The two informed each other on the situation and continued to coordinate evacuation efforts. The other Senshi were currently winning back the city, slowly clearing out the streets. They constantly monitored Greninja's position like paranoid parents, calling the Senshi that protected her and asking for updates, to the point one of them, stressed out from the bloodshed and chaos all around, snapped at them. The volley of profanity that followed was something that neither Blastoise or Blaziken had ever heard before.
Electivire then burst from the building. He punched Blastoise across the face and blasted him with a vicious electric shock. Blastoise screamed in pain before he was thrown into the remains of a strip mall. Trevenant got up and engaged with Blaziken as Electivire gave chase.
Blastoise crashed through a window into a shattered and crumbling convenience store. Snacks and drinks had been catapulted onto the floor. The freezers in the back had shut off, leaving a disgusting mix of melted ice cream and defrosted frozen meals on the floor. Blastoise landed in these freezers, shattering the glass. Luckily, his shell protected him from the shrapnel.
Electivire landed in front of the store and gloated,
"You should've croaked ages ago! Your time is over, old man!" He blasted the store with two large thunderbolts. Blastoise rolled out of the way but Electivire was swift to follow. Electivire then stabbed his twin tails into the floor, electrocuting it. Blastoise roared in pain yet didn't yield. He grabbed an ATM and threw it with the force of a rocket. It crashed into Electivire's chest, launching him back into a wall of various drinks. Not wanting to give the electric type the chance to abuse the advantage, Blastoise charged towards him like a rampaging bull and struck him with a powerful mega punch. He backed away before Electivire could return fire.
Electivire then smirked as thin bolts of lighting faded in around the area. Like a spider's web, the bolts connected every single electronic device. Electivire then smiled brightly,
"You know, I've always wanted to get into painting, and here is my chance to make my masterpiece out of your blood!"
He then vanished for a split second, before a bright yellow bolt of lightning started zipping around the place. Blastoise recognized the technique, Watt Phase. Electivire was using and magnifying the electric currents of the equipment and traveling within said currents. He had dealt with this before. But in close range, he had to be-
He couldn't even finish that thought as Electivire had punched him across the cheek before zipping away. Blastoise grunted as he stumbled back, before immediately being kicked in the ribs. Blastoise punched fruitlessly at where the impact came from but missed. Lightning then ripped through Blastoise's body from behind. He turned around but, again, saw nothing.
He couldn't just flood the store; all this electricity would kill him if water was conducting it. He needed to get out, now. Blastoise started to run towards the door but it abruptly shut in front of him before becoming completely consumed by thunder.
"You're not getting away that easy!" said Electivire, his voice omnipotent within this room.
Deciding that enough was enough, Blastoise mega-evolved. He blasted his arm cannons at the walls. Electivire took the bait and went for the water, only to face the full force of Blastoise's fist. He was punched through a wall, landing in a clearing with the water type in hot pursuit. Electivire gritted his teeth and caught himself on one hand, spinning around and kicked, unleashing a whip of thunder behind his leg. Blastoise jumped over the lightning and fired two more bursts of water. Electivire blocked the quick shots before being met with the ferocious glare of an incensed man.
Electivire supercharged his fingers and reached out for Blastoise's head. Before he could react in time, the electric's attack remained true. He clutched tightly onto Blastoise's head before lighting the entire clearing with bright blue lightning. Blastoise's scream echoed through the city. The overwhelming feeling of sharp pain around his head almost made him pass out in an instant. His entire body felt every single possible feeling it could, nerves on overdrive.
He couldn't surrender. The people needed him. Enough people had died today as it is, Arceus knows how many more would suffer if Electivire was allowed to roam free. This pain didn't matter now.
Blastoise roared in fury. He slowly raised his hands, fighting against his own body. Electivire stared at this in stunned disbelief. How? How was he doing this? This would kill most people. Blastoise shouldn't be able to move at this point, let alone fight back. While he was stunned in shock, Blastoise took advantage, tightly grabbing Electivire by the hands like a vice grip. He aimed his cannons and boomed,
"2 MILLION PSI CAPTAIN!"
A massive beam of water rocketed from him. The sheer force behind it punched Electivire through several buildings. He was finally stopped by flying into a bulldozer, the machine bending from the impact.
Blastoise shook and shuddered, to say that the shock had done a number on him would be an understatement. Pure agony overwhelmed his body. It was as though his own body had decided to punish him for some heinous crime he hadn't committed, yet didn't care. Blastoise stood there breathing in place, trying to center himself, even if the pain made it difficult. It was difficult to even stand. He decided to ignore the pain until later.
6:12. At this point, the Phantom Corp had started to withdraw. They were teleported away one by one. It's important to note that not a single man surrendered. They either left or died.
Greninja was going back and forth in the sewers, guiding groups of survivors through the sewers alongside hundreds of brave individuals. She embraced children, comforted recent widow's, consoled broken men who suffered the loss of their beloved. They needed her now more than ever and she was going to be there.
The Senshi on the streets thought that the worst was over. That the Phantom Corp decided to cut their losses and leave before the military could coordinate a counter attack. Blastoise and Blaziken had returned to the Senshi HQ. The attacks were dying down in other cities. Apparently Hydroton had become a safe haven and medical efforts were focused there. He ordered Sceptile to rush over there and help. The grass type nodded and rushed over there. He looked to Blaziken,
"What happened?" asked Blastoise
"A Phantom Corp attack. They went way earlier than expected,"
"Early?" asked Blastoise, "What do you mean?"
"I only ever heard vague notions, but the Phantom Corp had been planning a large-scale attack for next year," Blaziken looked at the time, "They're two months early," she said. Blastoise scowled. Two months and the country was this unprepared. He had a feeling that the board was responsible for this. He clenched his fist tightly before releasing his grip. He looked back over the destruction and he couldn't stop himself from thinking back to his battle with Electivire. Blaziken noticed and asked him,
"Yo, you good?" She was met with silence as a single thought repeated in his head.
He wasn't strong enough.
