Having gone through a long day, Todoroki sank back into her nice warm bed and prepared to let the comforting caress of sleep wrap around her. Ever since that fateful day at the Sports Festival, she no longer dreaded going to bed. As a matter of fact, part of her welcomed the relaxing sensations provided by a good night's sleep. Granted, she wasn't that fond of the feelings of dread she felt in the morning from knowing that she had to leave that bed and go to her classes, but hey, nothing was perfect.
"Hello, Shoko Todoroki."
Just as she was about to fall asleep, Todoroki got up from her bed and saw Deku standing there. However, this particular visit from him was highly unusual in that he had an unearthly bluish-green glow about him and yellow reptilian eyes. His attire was unusual, too: a dark bluish-green bodysuit with glowing, circuit-like accents and matching knee-high boots.
"Deku? But…you're not Deku?"
"No, I am Kedu, a resident of the planet Neptune. I have come to visit you because I wish to take you to my planet's biggest disco…The Nether."
Todoroki shook her head. "OK, this has to be some kind of weird dream."
"Oh no, this is very real. Now come, dress in your best club attire; the place won't be open all night."
As much as she wanted to kick Kedu's ass for daring to interrupt her sleep, Todoroki was also very much intrigued by the possibility of going to an otherworldly disco, so she nodded.
After putting on some makeup and dressing in the same white dress and matching high-heel shoes that she wore whenever she went to a disco, Todoroki was shocked when she was enveloped by a bright light. To add extra voltage to the shock, she found that when she materialized on Neptune, she was able to breathe without the aid of an oxygen tank. Much to her good fortune, her and Kedu had materialized not too far from The Nether, which appeared to be no more than a solitary doorway. Lined up were various Creatures of the Night in different shape, form and hue. Todoroki was bewildered by the whole scene, for not all of them were humanoid in appearance like Kedu. Speaking of Kedu, she couldn't help but wonder…
"Kedu, why me? Why did you take me of all people on such a strange journey?"
"You are very gifted, Shoko. You are unlike any human on Earth. I can sense that you have a very noble soul, and consequently, you deserve to be treated to this experience. Not everybody on Earth gets to experience this, if you understand."
Todoroki shook her head. "I still think the whole thing's weird, but something is telling me I should go along with you."
Kedu smiled. "A wise decision."
Soon enough, the two of them made it to the lone doorway, where the bouncer – an odd creature resembling a mix of a reptile and a fish – let them through. Kedu paid both of their entry fees, and they each received two drink tickets. Then, they proceeded down a neon tunnel, the familiar "bump, bump, bump" of the disco beat seducing every one of their senses, beckoning them to a dance floor experience like no other. As Todoroki got closer to the dance floor, any thoughts she had about the experience being wrong melted away, and she forgot to care about sleep, either. All she wanted to do was dance. She had a feeling that with the first step, she'd forget where she was, and with the next, she'd forget who she was, but she regretted nothing. This was, after all, a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and it felt oh-so-right.
Then, Kedu and Todoroki got to the dance floor, which seemed a vast expanse that went on for miles and miles in every direction. Strobe lights and neons seemed to flash in midair all around them to the beat of the music, lasers of all colors went off in all directions, and suspended above them in thin air was a disco ball that had to be at least twenty feet in diameter. For the soundtrack, the DJ was spinning "Cosmic Dancer" by Toni Van Duyne. Todoroki looked over at Kedu, who smiled at her and nodded, and she too smiled.
Without further ado, they headed out to the dancefloor and proceeded to get down to the music. Aside from the lighting, what really grabbed Todoroki about the experience was that she could not only hear the music, but actually physically feel every note, every word within her body. Kedu led her along in the dance, and she followed along effortlessly. Sure enough, just as she'd predicted, reality was becoming but a blur of light and sound, and it truly seemed that all that existed were her and her new partner. The whole experience was the most bewildering thing she'd ever experienced in her life, so much so that she had to wonder if this was a dream or if it was real. Regardless, it was also the most enjoyable experience she was having in her life, and it was all thanks to that fateful moment at the Sports Festival that she was able to keep on grooving. Even if it happened that she could never return to this place, she would always treasure the moment forever. Granted, she also worried what would happen if Deku found out, but maybe, just maybe, there was a chance that him and Kedu were connected somehow. Still, she decided not to get too wrapped up on "ifs" and "whens" and instead dance her way through such cosmic jams as "Magic Moon" by Overdrive, "Black Holes" by Amanda Lear and "Conquest of the Stars" by Space Project. If this wasn't some kind of heaven, she didn't know what was.
After an indeterminate amount of time had passed, Kedu decided that they should call it a night.
"Shall we go back to your place, Shoko?"
"Yes, I'm worried that morning may have come while we were dancing."
Kedu looked at his watch. "It's only 1:30 AM in your time. We've still got time."
Kedu and Todoroki returned to the latter's dorm, where Todoroki prepared to go to bed.
"Shoko, before you go to bed, I wanted to share something with you…"
"What is it, Kedu?"
"I had a fun time with you tonight, and I would like to imprint on you."
"What's that?"
"It's one of the most mind-blowing experiences you will ever have. You may reject it if you don't feel comfortable. I just wanted to offer it to you because I like you."
Todoroki looked into Kedu's reptilian eyes. While she still wasn't sure what he meant by "imprint", he hadn't done anything wrong to her, and she figured it couldn't be all that bad.
"All right, imprint on me."
Kedu smiled. "My pleasure."
Kedu gently placed his index and middle fingers on Todoroki's forehead. As soon as he touched her, she felt a wet, tingling sensation within herself. She gasped and blushed when she realized that "imprinting" was essentially just a way of knowing another in the Biblical sense without the traditional way of doing it. On one hand, she wanted to put a stop to the whole thing, fearing what would happen if Deku found out, but on the other hand, she welcomed the opportunity to try something new, so she decided that it was better to be damned if she did than damned if she didn't. As Kedu continued to touch her, she moaned with excitement, wanting nothing more than to have that mind-blowing end result. She had never felt such animalistic desires to this degree, and she could feel every inch of her body being taken on a voyage like no other. She didn't even care if anybody heard her; all she wanted was to go to Planet O. She would get there soon enough when…
"OH…OH MY GOD…YES!"
Todoroki screamed with delight and gripped her sheets tightly as her body experienced pleasurable sensations that she thought were familiar to her, but were beyond all description. As she continued to peak, her mind seemed to take on all recorded human knowledge, at least for a brief moment. It took her some time to come down from where she was, and Kedu kept his fingers on her forehead as she came down from her high point. Finally, she made it back down, a blushing, sweating mess. As soon as Kedu took his fingers off of her forehead, she collapsed into her bed.
"Was that as good for you as it was for me?" asked Kedu.
"I…so good, but…can't move."
"I know, imprinting can be overwhelming the first time, but you'll learn to enjoy it as you do it more. I must be going now, but first, I would like to wish you a good night, Shoko Todoroki."
Kedu kissed Todoroki on the lips before disappearing, and shortly thereafter, she surrendered to the comforting caress of sleep.
The next morning, despite having only slept for a few hours, Todoroki felt refreshed this morning. Even if she wasn't totally sure about last night, she felt that it was worth it. She didn't, however, expect to find Yaoyorozu, Tsu, Sero and Sato outside of her dorm. Nevertheless, she smiled:
"Good morning, everyone!"
Yaoyorozu frowned. "Todoroki, you look unusually happy considering you were screaming your lungs out last night."
"Honestly, I thought you were getting horribly murdered," said Sero. "What was that all about?"
"Yeah, it's not like you to be so noisy, ribbit," said Tsu.
Todoroki smiled nervously. "Sorry, I…I just had this really weird dream, that's all!"
"OK, we're just makin' sure," said Sato.
"Right! Thank you!"
"You're welcome!"
Todoroki headed downstairs to get breakfast when she ran into an all-too-familiar face…
"Ked…I mean Deku!"
Todoroki ran over to Deku and gave him a big hug, which he returned.
"I'm happy to see you this morning, Shoko, but why the concern?"
"I'm sorry, I…I just had this really weird dream last night."
Deku smiled. "I know; I had the same dream."
Todoroki dropped her jaw and blushed. She didn't want to believe it, but on the other hand, it was too coincidental to ignore.
Criticism is gold. Negativity and nitpicking are pyrite.
