Yasuha groaned walking down the plank. "I'm not a big fan of boat rides." He suddenly ran to a trash can and threw up, lifting his head he gagged before throwing up again. He dry heaved a couple more times before wiping his mouth, turning around he slid down the trashcan and sat on the dock. "That didn't taste good."
"Never does." Tristen responded.
"Are you okay?" Yugi asked.
Yasuha grabbed his water bottle from his bag and swished his mouth out before spitting it out. "I am now, thanks, Yugi, Tristen."
"You're welcome." He smiled.
"Not the first time someone's got seasick." Tristen helped him up.
"Thanks…" He slapped Tristen on the arm. "We should find out where we need to go."
"Attention please…" A man in a dark suit standing at the dock said. "Go toward the castle!" He shouted, pointing forward.
"I guess that's us." Yugi said. Everybody around the dock walked further into the island, walking up a set of large and long stairs they finally made it to the castle.
"Ah!" Yasuha groaned. "I need to remember about that gym…" He huffed in exhaustion. "Membership when we get home!"
"No kidding." Tristen caught his breath.
Yasuha drank from his water bottle before giving it to Tristen. "Thanks." He said drinking some. "Thanks." He handed it back.
"No problem."
"Attention please…" Another dark suited individual said standing on a balcony. "Gather around, your benevolent host is anxious to greet you all!'
A silhouette walked out of the castle and stopped behind the railing wearing a fancy suit. "Greetings, duelists! I am Maximillion Pegasus…"
The crowd cheered in excitement, except Yugi and his friends.
"It is my great honor and pleasure to welcome you all to the duelist kingdom. You stand before me, the world's greatest duelists!" He raised his hands in the air causing the crowd to cheer, leaving the five friends to look around at the cheers. "They have no idea that this is a trap." Yasuha said.
"No, they don't." Joey said.
"But come tournaments end, only one shall be crowned king of games, I implore you all to assemble your dueling decks with care, with creativity, and with cunning, for this competition will test your skills like never before!
A man in a black suit held a dueling glove in the air. "To track your progress in the tournament, you've each been given a dueling glove. You have also been given two precious star chips…" Pegasus held a star-chip in between two of his fingers. "You must wager these star chips on each duel you compete to advance to the final level of competition for a chance at the 3-million-dollar prize, you must win 10-star chips! 10-star chips will admit you into my castle, where you will face me in one final duel! This will be a tournament unlike anything you have ever experienced. state-of-the-art dueling arenas cover this entire island, and intriguing new dueling rules will be in effect. I could tell you what these new rules are, but what fun would that be? You will discover them as you compete or you will not last very long. Remember, play boldly, think strategically, and duel mercilessly! You have one full hour to prepare, both your cards andyourself. When the skies light up with fireworks, the duels begin!" Pegasus finished, leaving the crowd to cheer. Looking to the side he saw the five friends staring at him causing him to chuckle in excitement. "Soon, very soon." He told himself before walking back into the castle.
"That creep is going to pay for what he did your gramps, Yugi!" Joey said.
"Not so loud, Joey." Yugi said. "We don't want other duelists to hear."
"Then where should we go?" Yasuha asked.
"I guess we relax… then find weevil!" Yugi said, walking down the stairs.
"Why weevil?" He asked.
"What… don't you remember, on the boat?" Joey asked.
"He wasn't there." Téa said.
"I was locked in my room figuring out some strategies…"
"And trying not to throw up."Tiberius added.
"And trying not to throw up." Yasuha added.
"Weevil destroyed Exodia, grandpas' cards he gave me." Yugi replied.
"Were you going to use them again?"
"No… but he cheated, he deliberately tried destroying my deck."
"How did he get the cards in the first place?" He asked in confusion.
Yugi stayed quiet and scratched his head. "He asked for them… and I gave them to him." He chuckled nervously.
"You gave him Exodia?" Yasuha chuckled. "Like, on purpose?"
"It's good sportsmanship!"
"Yeah… it's also extremely stupid."
"Don't be rude!" Téa said sternly.
Duelists cheered as fireworks interrupted them. "Hey…" Joey said. "It's Weevil!" He pointed toward a path leading through trees.
"Weevil, I challenge you to a dual!" Yugi shouted.
Weevil laughed before running away from them. "Where is he going?!" They ran after him.
Yasuha ran along with them but stopped when he heard someone screaming. Sliding to a stop he looked at the friends running farther away, and then into the trees where he heard commotion.
"Get away from me!" A girl yelled.
"Shut up!" A bulky man back handed her. "You stole something from Mr. Masashi." He reached into her pocket and pulled out a necklace with a rose in the middle holding it together.
"A cleansing rune!"Tiberius said.
Yasuha jumped out of the trees. "Get away from her!" He shouted.
Another bulky man jumped toward him and punched him in the gut. He gasped and fell on the ground. "Two for one!" He laughed reaching for the amulet. He screamed as a burst of energy evaporated his body.
"Huh!" The first man stumbled back.
"I challenge you to a dual…" Yasuha pointed toward him. "If I win you release the girl, and her necklace. If you win, I'll give you, my amulet."
"Don't forget about the star chips."Tiberius said.
"Oh yeah… and two-star chips."
The man chuckled. "He's either very stupid, or very brave!" He told himself."Agreed… Dual!"
As soon as the agreement was final the ground started to shake rapidly. "What's happening!" Yasuha shouted, falling on the ground.
A large platform with two pillars at the opposite ends of each other came out from the ground. Trees on all sides groaned as they exploded from the rising platform. Yasuha jumped forward as trees tipped over and slammed onto the ground. Breathing heavily, he looked at the man who stood there laughing. "A weakling like yourself can't possibly win!"
A cab slowly lowered from the top of the pillar allowing the two duelists to step inside, stepping inside the two were lifted to the top. Yasuha smiled as a giant dueling mat stared at him from below, looking down he saw a smaller one inside the cab. "Awesome." He chuckled, placing his deck on the deck slot.
"I'll go first!" The man laughed. The two drew five cards. "I draw!" He drew another card from the top of his deck. "I'll play Gaia the fierce knight in attack position!" Two taller pillars shined as a holographic Gaia the fierce knight was projected onto the field.
"What?!" Yasuha said in disbelief.
The man laughed. "You can play any monster without tribute on this Island! I play two more cards face down and end my turn!" The holoprojector beamed the two projections onto the board in the spell and trap zone.
"I draw!" Yasuha drew a card from the top of his deck. "Hmm!" He mumbled in thought.
"Worried, about your pathetic deck?!" He chuckled.
"The only thing you should be worrying about, is yourself! I play Copycat!"
"Ha Ha Ha!" He laughed. "What a pathetic card!"
"I activate it's effect!"
"Huh!" The man gasped.
Copycat grunted before it's mirror reflected Gaia's attack and defense from the opponent's card. Copycat roared as his body began twitching, gaining the attack and defense of Gaia.
"I set four cards and end."
"Your pathetic tricks aren't going to save you! I draw, I set a card in defense position and end my turn!"
"I draw! I play a card in defense position and end my turn."
"I draw! I place a card in defense position. I equip fairy meteor crush to Gaia the fierce knight! Attack his defense position!" He laughed.
Gaia screamed before charging at the card. Saggi the dark clown cried before exploding into pixels. "Ha Ha Ha!"
"I activate my trap card!"
"Huh!" The opponent stopped laughing.
"Crush card! Since you destroyed my dark clown, I take no damage due to Crush Card, all your monsters with 1500 attack or more are destroyed from your side of the field, hand, and every time you draw it gets sent to the graveyard!"
"No!" The man slammed his hands on the dueling mat in front of him. Cards from his deck started raising in the air and revealing them to be monsters. "YOU LOSE!" Showed up on his screen in big red bold letters.
"You should think twice before making your deck out of high star monsters!"
"You should die!" He pulled out a gun and fired, the bullet froze in the air when Yasuha's amulet rose in the air. Holding his chest, he winced in pain before his body was jolted up as Tiberius took over.
"What?!" The man shouted, stumbling back he fell backwards over the cab. "Ah!" He screamed in pain holding his leg. "You broke my leg!" He winced.
"Woah!" He tried grabbing something as his body was lifted in the air, rising above the dueling platform he saw a large dark shadowy figure hovering above Yasuha with its hand out. Curling it's hand into a fist it pointed his thumb to the side, slowly raising it up the man groaned in pain as his body straightened out, the sky around him opened as chains quickly reeled out and bound his outstretched arms, the sky opened again as chains quickly reeled out and bound his feet together. "Begone!"The floor underneath him cracked open as a shadowed hand reached out and grabbed him. He screamed as he was dragged into the crack, his screams were shut short when it shut leaving smoke hovering on the ground. The figure held out it's hand causing the opponents two-star-chips to fly into his hand along with the necklace, before extinguishing.
Yasuha gasped as he gained control, breathing heavily he saw the four-star-chips on the platform along with he necklace, grabbing them the cab lowered allowing him to walk out.
The girl backed up as he walked toward her. "This belongs to you." He stopped walking and held it in his hand. He sighed when she slowly shook her head and didn't walk closer. "You have no right to trust me, but I'm the good guy. I didn't know that he was going to kill him."
"Why should I listen to you?!"
"You shouldn't…" He shook his head, throwing her the necklace before leaving.
The girl picked it up and stared at him as he walked away.
Yasuha was walking out of the tree line when a dark-long-haired player standing at 5'8, stood in front of him wearinga leather jacket and crosswitha "U" on top of it and a ball that hovered in the middle laid on his chest.
"A cleansing Rune!"Tiberius said.
"I challenge you to a duel!" The challenger yelled.
A dual stadium shook the ground as it rose above the ground, the two-duelist jumped in the cab as it rose them in the air. "Two-star-chips." The challenger placed them on the board in the cab.
Yasuha did the same. "What's your name?!" He placed the deck on the board.
"I'll go first." The challenger ignored him. "I draw! I place two cards face down, and then I play Doma the Angel of Silence in attack position and end my turn!"
"I draw!" Yasuha said. "I place a card in defense position, along with two cards on the field and end my turn!"
"My turn! I play dragon Zombie in attack position, attack, Dragon Zombie!"
Dragon Zombie flew in the air and down toward the card, Ancient lamp appeared as its lid opened causing Dragon Zombie to go inside and reappear in front of Doma and attacked her. Dragon Zombie roared before exploding into pieces along with Doma, andAncientlamp. "I Activate, Time Machine, to get back Doma, and activate Monster reborn to get back Dragon Zombie. I end my turn!"
"I draw, I activate Swords of revealing light." Three swords appeared in the air and slammed down in front of the opponents' monsters. "I place a card in defense position and end my turn."
"My turn, I play Armored Zombie in attack position and end my turn!"
"I draw! I place Goblin Attack Force in face up attack position. Go, Attack Armored Zombie!"
"I activate Gift of the Mystical Elf! Mystical Elf heals me three hundred points for every monster on the field!" The players life points rose drastically and stopped at 3500."
Seven Goblins jumped toward Armored Zombie and slashed at it with multiple swords, exploding it into pixelated pieces before lowering the players life points to 2800.
2800 - 2000
"Goblin Attack Forces ability activates, turning it into defense position, I end my turn!"
"I draw! I place a card in face down defense position and end my turn!"
"My turn! I place a card in defense position and end my turn, Goblin Attack Force's effect activates and puts him back into attack position.
"I draw! I activate Harpie's Feather Duster!" The feather duster appeared in the air and dusted his back row into the graveyard.
"No!" Yasuha growled.
"I flip crass clown over and activate his effect." Crass clown laughed as it bounced on its ball toward Goblin Attack Force. It jumped off, landing in the middle of them it attacked them with its staff sending them back into the hand.
Yasuha clenched his fists and slammed them on the board.
"Dragon Zombie, attack!" Dragon Zombie flew in the air and attacked, Kuriboh appeared before exploding into pieces. "I end my turn!" The player snickered.
"No!" Yasuha placed his hands on the table. "I can't do this!" He shook his head.
"Yasuha… you can't give up! This is the power of the cleansing rune, don't give up!"Tiberius said.
Yasuha shook his head and glared at the player whose rune was glowing bright black with mist radiating off of it. He growled, grabbing his chest a blast of energy knocked himself along with the challenger on their backs, standing up Yasuha glared at the challenger as he stood up. "I draw!" He growled.
"I activate Black Hole!" The sky above them turned dark as the monsters on the field were sucked up. The player held his chest as his breathing grew faint. "No one… can stop, my power!" He growled.
Yasuha chuckled "I play Goblin Attack Force and attack you directly!"
The seven Goblins jumped toward the player but was stopped by an invisible barrier. The player ducked and looked at Yasuha with fear running across his face. "I end." Yasuha smiled.
"I draw!" The player growled. "I activate Burning Land! I then play a card in defense position and end my turn!"
"I Draw!" He winced in pain as he was engulfed in flame and his life points dropped to 1500. "I place a card on the field. I end my turn!"
2800 - 1500
"Ha Ha Ha!" The Player laughed. "Huh!" He looked at the board. "Why haven't you lost? You didn't place a monster down!"
"Are you crying or playing!?" Yasuha asked.
The Challenger growled. "I draw!" He growled in pain as he was engulfed in flames. "I play Yaranzo in attack position and end my turn!"
2300 - 1500
"I draw!" Yasuha winced in pain again. "I place a card down, Goblin Attack Force, attack Yaranzo!"
The player screamed as he lost one thousand life points along with Yaranzo exploding into pixels. "I activate my trap card, Michizure!"
The ground under Goblin Attack Force, broke open as they fell into the depths. "I end my turn!"
1300 - 1000
"I draw!" He screamed in pain as he was engulfed in flames. "I place a card down and end my turn."
800 - 1000
"I draw!" He screamed as he was engulfed in pain and fell to his knees, steam rising from both players.
800 - 500
The girl from before, watched from behind the trees and flinched as he fell to his knees. "Get up." She whispered.
He groaned, as he strained himself to stand and draw a card. "I activate Monster Reborn! Come back Goblin Attack Force! Attack, Zanki!" He shouted.
The player screamed as Zanki was attacked sending his life points to zero. The screen showed in big bold letters"YOULOSE!" Finalscore O – 500. Both of the players collapsed to the floor of the cab in exhaustion as the cab lowered them to the floor.
The girl ran toward Yasuha. "Are you okay?" She asked.
"I think so…" He groaned as he stood up, using her help, he walked toward the other cab to find the challenger missing, looking at the board he saw the two-star chips.
"Are you going to take them?"
"No…" He groaned, sitting down. "I lost fair and square, I don't know why I didn't lose, you can have them." He handed her the star chips.
"I'm not very good at dueling, plus, I lost my deck."
"We might be able to find you a deck… if you want."
"That would be nice." She smiled.
"Well, if we're going to be partners, I'm going to need your name."
"Tsushima Inami."
"Nice to meet you, Tsushima, my name's Yasuha Hatoshi.
