It begins in Vermilion Gym where Red call out his Pikachu & the Gym Leader,Surge calls out Raichu. The two Pokemon battle each other until they both fainted. Surge next calls out Electabuzz & Red calls out Charmander. As the Pokemon battle each other,Charmander was nearly defeated,but evolves into Charmeleon & defeats Electabuzz. After Red receives a Thunder Badge,Green goes next.
While Red's Pokemon are healed,He heard the People talking about a ghost. Green came in,saying She has won a Badge as well. They travel to Lavender Town where They met Fuji,who explains that the Ghost keeps on scaring everybody out of the Tower. While Red & Green enters the Tower,They were attacked by Cubone & got separated. Red gets caught by Team Rocket while Green tries to calm Cubone. Then,the Ghost appears,scaring Green & fled with Cubone. After Red gets captured,Team Rocket are being chased away by a Ghost. By the time Red & Green left the Tower,Fuji gives them the Scope to see what this Ghost was.
They went back to the Tower where they encountered a Ghost. Red uses the Scope & learned that the Ghost is actually a Marowack,who turned out to be Cubone's slained mother. They are confronted by Team Rocket,who attempts to capture Cubone. Red calls out Charmeleon & Green calls out Bulbasaur. They battle against Team Rocket's Pokemon,but Bulbasaur gets overpowered. As Bulbasaur gets back up,It evolves into Ivysaur & defeats Team Rocket. Cubone hugs its mother before disappearing into the afterlife. Green invites Cubone to join her,which it accepts it. Fuji gives Red the Poke Flute before the two head to Saffron City.
