A Double Twisted Nightmare Chapter 12
September 29th 9:25pm Spencer Memorial Hospital
Jill leaves the sick room and steps into the hall lobby. "Tell me where Bard is, Tyrell." Jill said to the radio, as she walks to the double doors. "He should still be in his lab. Let me know if you need assistance." he said
"Sure but what took you so long to find us?" Jill asks as she enters the reception. "Zombies, lickers, Cerberuses, Hunters, USS, and Nicholai." he answers her as she kills a licker.
"USS?" Jill asks, grabbing a map before heading through a door leading to the corridor.
"Umbrella Security Service. Another group funded by Umbrella, but they get the dangerous stuff. Think black ops." Tyrell said and Jill locked picked a case finding ammo.
"So they attacked you?" she asked going the lab reception. "Yeah, but this time I'm not surprised. Who knows what Nikolai told upper management." he said.
Jill tries to enter the lab but it required a voice print. "Hello? Dr. Bard! I'm here to save you!" Jill shouts at the doors but there is no response.
"Damn! Tyrell, Bard isn't answering and security wants a voice match." Jill tells him. "Ok, find something that can record and find something that has Bards voice." Tyrell said.
Jill finds a tape recorder, "Ok, now to find Bards voice." she said heading to the door on her left.
She enters to find three zombies moving and quickly gets rid of them, grabbing what she can. Just as she lock picks a case, another tries to sneak up behind her. She dodges and blows it's head off. She grabs the explosive rounds, tries the operating room but it was locked, and goes back into the main corridor. She sees to her left a door, like the operating room, it was locked. She heads towards the stairs to reach the second floor.
Once she's at the lip of the stairs, a body drops but thankfully it wasn't a zombie. Once she reaches the second floor, she find that the main corridor has been barricaded forcing her to use the roof door. She goes along shooting a corpse in the head, before reaching the door leading back to the corridor. She goes down to her left, finds a door on her left.
She heads into the records room and finds useful items, then leaves for the staff room. She looks around in shock at the bloodied mess and familiar scratches. She shoots at bodies on the ground before finding out that the locker room needs a key, lock picks a locker, grabs ammo and leaves.
She heads to the southwestern corner, finds two doors, and a place for her to crawl under, as well as a broken window.
She tries the linen room door but it was locked, so she backtracks to the nurse's station. She hears pounding on the doors from the sickroom and sees a licker. 'Ok, I have no choice.' she kills the licker and takes care of the zombies coming in. After that she finds a note saying that Bard had a tape but that it was taken to the treatment room. "I know where it is, now I just need to get there." she said.
She finds a safe, but needs a combination, she heads into the sickroom. Jill shoots at the body on the floor and grabs what is useful. She leaves the room and crawls underneath a barricade to find a broken window and jumps down into the courtyard. She finds a locked case before open it with her lock pick and grabbing the ammo, before hopping over the shrubbery.
She exits through another broken window and finds herself on the other side of the locked door she found earlier. She unlocks it and heads back upstairs.
She decides to use the other window and hops down into the courtyard, where she finds ammo, a gun part and a key. 'This key is to the locker room!' Jill was excited that she was finally getting somewhere.
Jill goes back up once more, heading for the staff room and unlocks the locker room. She finds a flash grenade and a hospital idea. Just as she gets ready to leave the staff she hears something. The doors in front of her open and sees a hunter, but it was a different looking one than the ones she saw in the mansion. Jill quickly blows it away with her shotgun.
'They couldn't have picked a worse time to come after me.' Jill was not happy, Carlos's time is running out.
She heads to the records room, "I don't want to take a detour but with hunters, I have no choice now." Jill said grabbing what is useful.
She move to the downstairs, to the operating room and takes care of another hunter. She grabs everything and finds the combination to the safe in the nurse's office. She runs back to the nurse's station and opens the safe to find a gun part.
Jill then uses the id to unlock the door to another corridor. She sees a strange zombie that she never saw before, it was pale and had a big head. She gets rid of it and sees hunters in the treatment room, 'Wonderful.' she thinks.
She enters the linen room, grabs what she can and heads to the treatment room.
She tosses a hand grenade in and kills one of them, before pumping the remaining one full of lead. She grabs the tape, "All right this should do it." Jill said inserting it in the tape recorder. She grabs what else is important before leaving the room.
Tyrell's voice comes on the radio, "Jill! We got trouble! Zombies and everything else are heading our way! I'll go outside and see what I can find that will stop them! How close are you to Bard?!" he asks.
"I just got the tape! I'm heading back to the lab!" Jill said, heading into the corridor from the linen room and fires at a hunter.
"Pick up the pace! I can't say if I can stop them all!" Tyrell says before he disconnects.
Jill runs, back to the emergency entrance but zombies crash through the windows. "Argh! Out of my way!" Jill shouts as she unleashes a torrent of bullets at their heads. Once their gown, she lockpicks a locker and grabs ammo.
She then gets back to the lab and plays the recording, when Bard's voice is heard, the doors finally unlock.
Jill heads in and finds someone in a chair. She turns it, reads the name 'Nathaniel Bard' on the id and he had been shot, dead.
"Damn! What happened?! No, I can find the vaccine. I'll take a look around." Jill said.
She finds a computer that is on, she reads email from Nathaniel Brad and opens it.
She hears Bard's confession about Umbrella and how they turned on him. He had ended rather abruptly, most likely his assassin had come for him.
"So I was right. Umbrella will turn on their own, for their own benefit." Jill felt somewhat sad for all the people who had been used by Umbrella and were betrayed. "But they should have never tried such atrocities in the first place." she said.
The door to her right unlocks and she heads in, "Please be in here." she said.
She finds the medicine cabinet, opens it and sees the vaccine sample, which she grabs.
"Hold on Carlos. I'm heading your way." Jill said aloud and grabs everything else that was useful.
"Tyrell! I've found it!" Jill said to the radio. "Good but move it! There have been monsters that have gotten past me! They're heading towards the hospital!" Tyrell said.
Jill steps back into the reception and a hunter bursts through the window. "Out of the way, asshole!" Jill yells shooting at it.
She runs all the way back to the sickroom and gives Carlos the vaccine. "You'll be fine Carlos." Jill said relieved that she got to him in time.
"Sorry, but I need keep us safe. I'll be back." Jill promises. She grabs his gun that had been put off to the side, "I'll return it." she said leaving the room.
She gets into the lobby and hears moans, "Sounds like a lot of them. But I won't give in." Jill said putting the gun parts she found on Carlos's gun.
Jill then barricades the doors, "Now for the shutters." she said and quickly hacks into the mainframe. As they were shutting, creatures that she has seen have come around to the ground windows. Jill grabs the gun, "I'll get everyone of you." she vows.
The zombies bust the windows and start crawling in, she runs grabbing ammo and a detonator. Jill shoots at their heads, then at the electrical charge boxes when too many get inside. After a couple of minutes of this, the power goes out.
"Are you shitting me?!" Jill shouts, turning on the light on her person. She heads towards the back office and a hunter comes through the barricade. "Get lost!" she yells putting lead into it. She rushes inside and turns the power back on.
She then shoots at the monsters again, the upper windows were closed and the ground window's start closing. "Just a little more!" Jill said to herself.
She keeps on the attack, the zombies start to slow down when a hunter comes in. It lands a hit on her, but she gets it back, killing it. She quicky uses herbs, before holding the gun again.
She turns to the doors, where behind them lay Carlos and sees two zombies trying to get in, ripping the barricade. "Get the hell away from there!" Jill yells shooting at them. The ground window shutters finally close.
Then it got worse, the zombies outside the front doors finally burst in. "Shit!" Jill throws a grenade, to keep them down. She then places the detonator on some C4 she found.
"Damn thing needs thirty seconds, let's hope I hold out." Jill said.
She shoots at the zombies, keeping them away from where Carlos is and away from her person.
Then finally she hears the detonator give warning, Jill hides behind the desk and..
Boom!
The pillar collapses, bringing a portion of the ceiling with it and blocks the front doors.
Jill then radios Tyrell, "I was able to stop them, the front way of the hospital is no longer accessible. How are you doing?"
"Heading your way, I just found out something important." Tyrell said.
Jill unbarricades the doors, before siting next to Carlos. After twenty minutes Tyrell comes in the sickroom, injured.
"Tyrell!" Jill goes over to him, but he puts up his hand to stop her and turns on the TV.
It was an announcement, Raccoon city was set to be destroyed via missile strike October 1st.
"No... There has to be other people still left in the city... They can't do this!" Jill is horrified as she brings out a first aid kit, tending to Tyrell's wound.
"The government is willing to sacrifice the few, just to save the many. The situation unfortunately has turned into that. I mean, what did you expect." he said, wincing as Jill applies the rubbing alcohol.
She removes a bullet from his arm, "What happened to you?" she asks. "That bastard Nicholai, as the horde started to slow down, I let my guard down. He took advantage and shot at me, getting a lucky hit." he said as Jill applies more alcohol.
"But it looks like Carlos is going to be ok. That vaccine worked." Tyrell looks over at him with a smile, as Jill wraps his wound.
"How is Bard?" he asks her. "He was dead when I arrived. I was able to find one vaccine, the one I gave Carlos. The rest is below the hospital." Jill tells him.
"Damn! We need to get that vaccine stock. Ok here's what going to happen, I'll try to contact someone to call off the strike. Let them know that we found a cure." he said getting up and going to the computer in the lobby.
Raccoon City September 30th 11:55pm Spencer Memorial Hospital
Carlos awakens with a start, he had a terrible nightmare. He had recovered but Jill ended up getting infected, she begged him to kill her. Thankfully it was a dream.
He looks over to see Jill asleep at the table. He gets up, moves his muscles and goes over to Jill. He makes sure she is ok, hears the announcement on tv, before leaving for the lobby.
He sees Tyrell, "Hey." he said.
"Hey yourself! I was wondering when you would get up. Did you hear what the government is doing?" Tyrell asks him.
"Yeah, I can't believe that they are going to nuke this city! What about the people who haven't been infected?!" Carlos was furious.
"You sound like Jill. And I'll tell you the same thing I told her, they don't care about the few. Right now I'm trying to reach anyone with clearance to stop the strike." Tyrell said.
"Jill saved and protected you, from the creatures. She went all out in here." Tyrell said pointing to where the front doors once were.
"By the way, check out what I brought up on the other computer. Jill told me about Bard's email, so I hacked in and saw it. You should too." Tyrell finishes his talk.
Carlos goes over to the other computer and checks out the email. After it was done, he is silent for a moment.
"Jill... she knew all along and she still trusted me." Carlos said. "Yeah, we weren't here to save people. That was just a cover, we we're part of an experiment." Tyrell said not looking at him.
"Fuck!" Carlos punches the computer.
"When I was in prison... The offer given to me by Umbrella... it was too good to be true." Carlos said calming down. "That too, what kind of company would want someone who made deals on the black market? That should've been a sign to me." Tyrell said.
"What do you mean by experiment?" Carlos asks him, turning to him.
"The UBCS... we're just hired and paid for, not under contract like the USS. We're considered the most expendable, so like for example; if we decide to betray Umbrella we won't be believed due to our criminal backgrounds and are killed or when you consider the situation we're in, in each group there's a person called a 'monitor'." he said.
"This person gets combat data and takes us out one by one, once we fulfilled our purpose. I hacked into Umbrella, after I got frustrated when no one answered me a little bit ago." Tyrell reveals how he found this out.
"I see... I think we both know who our teams monitor is." Carlos said. "Yeah, Nicholai. He's friends with Colonel Vladmir, but something tells me, he's walking away and we're along for the ride." Tyrell said.
"If I see that bastard again, I owe him four hits." Carlos said.
"Get in line." a female voice said.
They look over and see Jill, "How long have you been there?" Tyrell asks.
"Since I saw Carlos punch the computer. Any luck on finding someone?" she asks.
"No, but I'll keep going for now. You two should go on ahead to where the vaccine is stockpiled." Tyrell said.
"Ok. Here Carlos." Jill said giving Carlos back his assault rifle.
"What happened to Bard?" Carlos asks, checking his guns.
"Dead." Jill said ready to go.
"By the way T, what happened to your arm?" Carlos asked once he was ready.
"Nicholai, but don't worry about me. Get the vaccine and find someway for us to get out of here, in case I fail." Tyrell said going back to the computer.
"One last thing, commutations will be down at a certain point, the farther you go in. So we will all meet up somewhere." Tyrell tells them.
They leave the lobby and enter the reception, heading over to the door on their right. "I didn't bother with this door, mainly because I was trying to get into Bard's lab." Jill said, lockpicking it.
The door opens and they head down the stairs, taking note of the barricade to their left. They reach the generator room, grab some gunpowder, before finding a pale head on a walkway.
They shoot it until it was dead, "What the hell?" Carlos asked.
"I just met one other earlier, but we have no time to figure it out." Jill said.
They exited the door and find themselves in a loading bay, "Now we need to get underground." Carlos said.
They find some gunpowder, before getting on the lift and Jill pulls the switch.
Once they stop, get off and look around a shipping area, before going over to a lift, which Carlos brings down.
"How did people not know about this place is beyond me." Jill said once they step on the lift.
They head up unto the walkway before going into the office. "Hey, we can carry more things." Carlos said tossing Jill a pouch.
Jill finds a note saying the elevator is out of service and needs fuses to work. "It appears we're going on a hunt for fuses." she said.
They leave the room, taking note of the barricade to their right, when they get to the center of the catwalk. They see Nicholai in the surveillance room, he was talking to someone on the phone. Carlos gets ready to shoot him when Jill puts her hand on his weapon and lowers it.
"Forget it, that glass that he's behind is bullet proof." she said and they hop down from the catwalk.
"Damn bastard, how the hell did he get down here anyway?" Carlos ask aloud as they walk over to the elevator.
"Don't know, but there must be other ways in here. I can't imagine the hospital being the only way. At least he got the elevator working." she said turning it on. No sooner than she did that, the power goes out.
"Well, well. I see you two are still in one piece, but the games end." Nicholai said.
"We'll see who's the last one standing, asshole." Carlos said as they head over to another lift.
As they approach it, they get rid of another pale head and turn it on, going up. They grab ammo and a fuse, before climbing down a ladder.
Once back on solid ground, they walk until a catwalk explodes and a hunter y comes out of a container. Once it was dealt with, Carlos checks out the container it came out of and finds ammo.
"By the way.. Tyrell said he was offered his freedom by Umbrella, even through he did deals on the black market. What was your past?" Jill asks when he comes back.
"I grew up surrounded by gangs and violence, I joined one before I was eight. Then when I was a teenager I got in over my head and ran for it, eventually getting involved with the communist movement." Carlos said shotting at a zombie as they get closer to another lift.
"I was then trained in guerrilla tactics and became a leader in it. I was shipped off to a country in South America, to try and get this country in the communist movement." Carlos continues his story as they get on the lift.
"However the government was able to find a way to keep itself in power and send antiguerrilla teams to take care of us. Eventually the front collapsed and I was captured, abandoned by them." Carlos said bitterly as they reach the catwalk.
"I was told that despite my crimes committed against them, I would not be executed, but I would be serving the rest of my life in prison." Carlos said climbing down the ladder after Jill.
"Then Umbrella came to me with a deal; join us in this group and we will ensure that you will remain a free man. What a load of shit, now that I think about it." Carlos said as they approach a container where right beside it is another fuse.
"I see, so you said yes. You did everything they asked of you and in gratitude of them giving you a chance at freedom, you never once questioned what they told you." Jill said grabbing the fuse and they check the container.
"Yeah, I should've learned the first time that when wisemen say 'if something is too good to be true, then it is'. I walked right into their web, but now I'm breaking free." Carlos said as they leave the first container.
As the approach the second container, the door burst open, a Cerberus and a hunter y comes out. "Quick!" Jill shouts and they run up the ladder.
They get back on the lift, head down and go to the left. They find another lift but it was in use. Then Jill sees a gap where she can squeeze through, but it was too small for Carlos.
"There's got to be a way to bring down the lift. I'll go check it out." she said going into the gap. "Wait for me to reunite with you." Carlos asked as she makes it to the other side.
Jill finds the controls to bring down the lift and Carlos crosses it once it was safe. "Hey, I found this." he said tossing her a shell holder.
"Let's check upstairs." Jill said applying the part to her shotgun.
They enter a room where two zombies and a pale head are roaming, they get rid of them before looking around.
They unlock a door, find ammo and memo. They pass through a door, that led to a ladder and climb down.
"Stay sharp." Jill whispers to Carlos.
The head down the way, grabbing gunpowder, before blowing away a hunter. They reach the end and found the last fuse, they head back to the office and goes across the catwalk, when they see something.
"Great, Nicholai unleashed more of those parasitic zombies." Jill said, noting that there are three of them.
"Here." Carlos said tossing a couple of grenades at them, once they were down, they jump down and shoot at them until they die.
Jill then inserts the fuses into the box and the power comes back on. They get on the lift and head up, weapons ready.
When they reach the top, they find no sign of Nicholai. "Slippery bastard! He will get what's coming to him." Carlos promises.
"For sure.. but what was he doing in here in the first place?" Jill questions.
They check out the room, Jill finds an extended barrel for her magnum and applies it.
"Jill! Come check this out." Carlos said, over at a computer.
She comes over and reads a report that Nicholai had been doing, it was about the creature that had been chasing her. "Before that I found information that he had been collecting from my team." Carlos said angrily.
Then they hear a voice coming from their radios, "Jill! Damn it answer, Jill Valentine!"
"Barry?!" Jill talks into the radio in shock.
"Finally! I've been trying to reach you for hours! The city is going to be toast in about three hours! I'm flying around in a chopper! You need to get somewhere where there's enough room for me to pick you up!" Barry said.
"How did you reach us?! We're underground!" Jill asks.
"I fiddle with the radio waves, changing often in hopes you were still alive! Now get your ass topside! And find something that will tell me where you are!" Barry said before the connection cut.
They hear the lift behind them, turn and pointed their weapons should it be an enemy. Once it was up it was revealed to be Tyrell.
They lower their weapons as Carlos spoke, "Good to see you. Did you find someone?"
"Yeah, but he said 'if' and only 'if' we bring the cure to them before the strike, he also warned that just because we brought it doesn't mean it will be called off." Tyrell tells them.
"Not good enough but better than nothing." Jill said not happy.
"Let's get moving." Carlos said also not pleased.
They head over to the door and Tyrell inputs a code he must have found on the computer. "It should be down this way, it's called Nest 2." he said.
Once the door was opened, they go down a corridor and stop when Tyrell's wound acts up. "You sure your fine?" Carlos asked.
"Yes, let's keep going." he said.
They go past the door, being cautious as they look around when, Tyrell is knocked off his feet by a tentacle. Jill and Carlos turn and see the monster from the tower.
"Your back?!" Carlos shouts in alarm.
He shoots at it, as Jill grabs Tyrell and makes their way left of the door.
Just as they nearly get halfway down, the monster reaches it's tenacle at Tyrell and pulls him away from Jill. Tyrell moans in pain as this happened.
"You let him go!" Carlos shouts still shooting at it. "Stop!" Jill yells, forcing down his weapon.
"Run! Get going!" Tyrell speaks out to them and the creature throws him against the wall. Jill and Carlos watched this in horror, Tyrell doesn't move.
The creature then turns its attention on them and they run from it. It follows them like it was a dog, before taking swipe at them and nearly grabbing them before they reach a safety door.
Once they were both pass it, Jill hits the button and the door drops, separating them from the monster.
They catch their breaths, "..Let's go. We can't afford to dally." Carlos said getting up. Jill could see that Carlos was sad but does not call him on it.
They head through a door leading to a hallway, as they walk down it they take notice of blood on the walls and bodies on the ground.
"Nicholai has been busy." Jill said trying the door on their right but it needs a code.
So they go to the last room at the end of the hall to find a storage room. In here they find ammo, herb, and a map.
"This place will take us up and down. Stay on your toes." Carlos said looking the map over.
They leave and head up the stair to their left, arriving on the second floor.
They take care of a pale head that is wandering around, before taking a left down to a dead-end where a zombie comes to life. They shoot it before grabbing ammo and a dairy page.
"..This man had everything to lose should he had talked, but if he had I wonder if anyone would have believed him at the time." Jill reading the page over, once they were back in the light.
They head back and go to the only door in the hall. They check out the experiment room, find gunpowder and an essay.
"Great, we have to make the vaccine from two components. Now we have to find them." Jill said to Carlos, after reading the essay.
Carlos was messing with a security terminal, when it tells him that the flash drive is ready and has the power to override.
He takes it, turning to Jill, "This drive can help us get passed that door downstairs, but it can't work on all of them. Like the other doors we found on this floor, near the dead-end."
They head downstairs, to the door they couldn't open before and finds zombies. Knowing that they will use this room for a bit, they get rid of all of them.
They head up the stairs and go into a small lab. "There's a vial." Jill said going over to a machine to get it. It takes a moment, until it gives it and they find the it is the antigen vial.
"One down, one to go." Jill said as Carlos came over to her.
"That's good. I found some gunpowder and a note saying that there is some kind of big weapon. Its suppose to work on the pale heads, if so then maybe if we run into our 'friend' again we can use it on him." he said.
"Sounds like a plan, but we need to find it first." Jill said.
They go down the stairs and head over to a door they haven't been through before. They find themselves in a sever room and see a pale head, which they take out. They then find ammo and a message, it tells them where to find the adjuvant sample.
"Looks like we take these stairs to get to it." Carlos said after looking at the map.
They head down, find a first aid spray, then head into the next room.
In this room, there are hunters on one side and tyrants on the other.
"This is... I don't know how to describe it." Jill looks around in horrified awe. "I can't believe that they are this bold. Making bioweapons in this place." Carlos said just as stunned.
They get on a lift and head up to a catwalk, where they see the experiment room from the side their on. As they get closer to the door, grabbing stuff as they go, zombies come out the door.
"I got this." Carlos said and tosses a couple grenades at them. They shoot what moves after the smoke clears, then they head in the lab.
Jill finds the adjuvant vial, "All right. Now they need to be put together." she said.
"Hey Jill, that thing following you around is called Nemesis. Apparently it was developed in Europe, it can be controlled by a parasite. However Bard didn't think that it would work in the long run." Carlos tells her, showing her the paper.
"Nemesis huh? Somehow that's fitting." she said grabbing gunpowder.
The head back to the lift, go down and as they were walking to the sever room stairs, the hunters burst from their tubes.
"Shit!" Jill said as the door closed and they won't open until the hunters are gone.
She and Carlos shoot with their respected arms, tossing two grenades as well, before at long last they were gone and the door opens.
They went to the experiment lab to make the vaccine. "I'll take care of it." Jill said mixing the two vials together and put it in the machine. Carlos stands beside her.
After inputting that right amount of chemicals, the computer said 'Vaccine in progress'.
"Yes." Carlos said excited. Once it was done, Jill grabs the vial.
"Ok now we need to-" before Jill could finish her sentence, they are grabbed by the Nemesis's tenacles.
They use their knifes on it until it threw them out of the room. They land back in the bioweapon incubation room, but on the second floor.
"Damn it.. Let's move." Carlos as they get up.
They see that the catwalk has been damaged, but a vent is open.
"I think I'll be able to fit." Carlos said. They crawl through, Carlos insisted he go first this time, knocks down the vent covering.
Once Carlos was out, he helps Jill, who was halfway out, when they are grabbed by tentacles again.
The Nemesis holds them by their necks and they shoot at it with their handguns until Jill sees a tanker that was flammable. She shoots at it a couple of times, until it blows, engulfing Nemesis and it let them go.
"Quick! Before this place goes!" Jill shouts as they get up. However Nemesis was not dead and grabs them by the legs.
"Fuck off!" Carlos shouts, as he and Jill crawl to get away from it and the room. Then another tanker explodes and Nemesis finally lets them go.
They get to a lift and it takes them up away from the flames. They find themselves in the worker's break room and find stuff that can help them, as well as a note telling them about the next room.
"Let's be careful." Jill said as they left the room for the disposal chamber.
"Yeah but I wonder if this isn't the weapon talked about in that other note." Carlos said as they walk down the catwalk.
"I doubt it, this place looks like its been here from the start." Jill said
A pipe blocks their way, so they take the stairs but just as they do, a loud roar is heard. Nemesis bursts through the breakroom, it was looking for its target.
It rushed over to where they were and jumped on the stairwell, making it come loose. They quickly grab on the railing as the Nemesis grabs the stair piece their on in an attempt to bring them with.
As it shook, they fall on another piece of metal, it was also barely hanging on, but the vaccine falls out of Jill's pocket and onto the flat surface of the metal.
"Interesting.. This is the vaccine?" a Russian voice speaks, it was Nicholai.
He is on the catwalk and picks up the vaccine.
"Give that back!" Carlos shouts at him but he laughs.
"I believe I've gave both of you at one point or another my advice on how to get through life. Its not my fault you didn't heed me, now here what's going to happen. You both will go down there and fight Nemesis. If the combat data is good, I will give you back the vaccine. Clear?" Nicholai said stepping on their hands.
"Your a heartless bastard!" Carlos yells at him.
"Please Nicholai! That vaccine can save even you, if you get infected! There is no need to hold it hostage!" Jill attempts to reason with him.
"Oh? Then how will I get you to fight Nemesis? By asking you? I want payment, as long as I'm alive, I don't care what happens to you." he said.
"Remember, make it good." Nicholai said kicking their hands off the catwalk.
They fall down into the disposal chamber, where they see Nemesis as they get up. Carlos nods at Jill, causing her to nod back and they get into position.
They unleash some ammo at it, dodging it as it started their way.
"Jill we need to think of something! We'll run out of ammo at this rate!" Carlos shouts.
"I know! This place might be able to help! But I think the controls for it are somewhere else!" Jill shouts, just barely dodging Nemesis.
Then all of a sudden the room comes alive and damages Nemesis, it roars as electric currents course through it.
Once the current was gone it runs around the room to hide somewhere. Then a voice speaks over the intercom, "Its going behind tanker seven!"
It was Tyrell, "Your alive!" Carlos shouts happily.
"Watch out! Company is coming!" he says.
They look and see zombies and pale heads coming down shafts, heading their way.
Carlos shoots at the monsters on the ground, while Jill shoots at Nemesis at tanker seven. They move quickly one it came down, and fire at it again.
It roars and runs around the room again, "Tanker five!" Tyrell said.
They take care of the creatures roaming before firing on Nemesis, it came down and lunged at them. They sperate, it goes after Jill of course.
"Get back! Honestly, your worse than an ex-boyfriend!" Jill yells at it.
Carlos shoots at it, it goes after him. Jill then shoots at it, it goes after her. Eventually they notice it was turning red.
"Almost got you!" Carlos shouts, as it runs around the room once more.
"Tanker three!" Tyrell said.
Carlos and Jill fire at it, Nemesis jumps down and lands on Jill. It gets ready to seemingly eat her, when Carlos shoots at it. Jill gets away while it was distracted and shoots at it as well.
Finally it collapses with a roar of defeat.
"I'll bring down the claw, I can move to an area where you two can get out." Tyrell said, he was breathing heavily.
As it was coming down, Nemesis moves. "Oh, come on!" Jill said, as she and Carlos point their weapons at it.
"Watch out!" Tyrell yells, he moves the crane at Nemesis and knock it clean into the wall. It didn't get back up.
"Get on!" he said as the claw gets to their level. They get on the opposite sides and Jill signals to Tyrell. He has them lifted up and turns on the disposal chamber, in hopes that Nemesis is gone for good.
The Nemesis shrieks with pain as the acid eats at it. It move futility trying to get away, before giving out one last roar and sinks into the acid.
Once it was leveled with the catwalk, they get off and Tyrell moves it out of the way so they could see each other.
"Get that vaccine out of here! Let the world know what Umbrella has done!" Tyrell said over the intercom.
"But what about you?" Carlos shouts.
Tyrell moves his right hand away from his left shoulder area, there was a gaping hole there. "Unless you two know where a surgeon is and is not zombified, there is no way for me to make it." he said.
"Between rest and adrenaline, I think that's why I'm still alive but.. ugh, I feel it. Lost too much blood. Cough." Tyrell brings up his hand and coughs up blood.
"Get that vaccine.. and get to the government.. its too late for the city.. but there is hope.." Tyrell says bringing down his hand, as he was struggling.
"Carlos... Jill... Take care of yourselves." Tyrell said, before falling forward on the controls.
Jill and Carlos knew that this time he was dead.
".. Let's get Nicholai." Carlos said.
He and Jill turn the door and get inside the passage, shutting the door behind them.
They walk until they reach a door that takes them into a break room. They heal themselves and apply fresh ammo into their weapons.
"Carlos.." Jill didn't know what to say to him.
"I'm fine Jill... I will escape. I won't let his death be in vain." Carlos said in regards to Tyrell.
"I too, need to escape. There are people I need to find." Jill said.
"Chris and Claire Redfield right?" Carlos said it like a question, but it was more of a statement.
"Yeah, but how do you know about them?" Jill asks.
"Found your journal in the STARS office while me and Tyrell were looking for Bard." he tells her.
"I see... I'm sure they're somewhere in Europe. I just need locations and names as to who has them." Jill said with determination.
"You like Chris?" he asked teasingly.
"Yes but due to our lives as officers of S.T.A.R.S we couldn't date anyone on the team... officially." she said with a smile.
They find a few things as well as a weapon specs book, "Hey that weapon I talked about earlier, they have it stored in another room nearby." Carlos said.
"Enough of that, let's get that greedy bastard." Jill said.
They leave the breakroom, going unto a walkway to reach another door. Once the door opens, they walk in and immediately put their weapons on Nicholai, who points his weapon at them.
"We did what you wanted asshole! Now give back the vaccine!" Carlos said, he wasn't going to shoot until he saw it.
"What? Why would I do that, when you two can make me even more money? Now drop your weapons." Nicholai said.
"Its two on one, how do you think this will go?" Jill asks.
Then something explodes into the room, Nicholai escapes through a door, barely getting himself out of harms way and Jill and Carlos roll down the walkway into a room.
Once they gather they're bearings and get up, a mass amount of flesh comes into the room and they recognized the acid from the disposal chamber.
It opens up like a flower and shoots flesh to the ceiling and upper parts of the wall.
"This is.. is incredible! The data will be worth millions!" Nicholai said excitedly.
The mass opens up fully to reveal the Nemesis still alive.
"..If there was enough time, but the city is going to go and I rather live with my riches." Nicholai said.
"Good luck taking that down!" he shouts at them, before running away.
"Coward!" Carlos shouts after him.
He and Jill share a look before they face the Nemesis again.
"This is the last fucking time!" they shout at it.
They shoot at it, dodging its moves but quickly take notice their weapons were doing little to no damage this time.
"We need something big!" Jill said. Carlos then takes a good look at the room they're in.
"This room is the one with the weapon I've been reading about!" Carlos shouts turning on the compartment. It opens to reveal a big gun.
Jill grabs it and shoots at the Nemesis damaging it but it wasn't strong enough. Charges popped out of the wall, once the power was gone.
The automated voice says it needs to cool down and the charges need to be reset. Some of the charges don't go back in.
"We need to fix this!" Jill said putting the gun back at its resting aera.
"There are some odd bumps on it! I'll shoot at them, you reset the charges!" Carlos shouts and starts shooting at Nemesis.
Jill was able to get two charges reset, before Carlos brings down Nemesis. "Get those last two!" Carlos going over to one that had been in the danger zone, right by Nemesis.
Jill gets over to one and pushes it in.
The voice says it was once more powering up the weapon.
Jill and Carlos both get to it just as Nemesis recovers. Carlos grabs it and Jill stands on the other side of it and they shoot at it, bringing it to its knees.
"Jill, find cover." Carlos said taking the weapon over to Nemesis. Jill quickly finds cover.
Carlos puts the gun into the Nemesis's maw, "Take this! And don't ever fucking come back!" he said firing the weapon.
Nemesis explodes, its blood and tissues go everywhere and Carlos gets thrown to the floor.
Carlos makes a face as blood gets on him, but gets up. He looks over to where Nemesis was, it had been obliterated.
Jill came out of her hiding spot and sees that Nemesis is no more, "Finally.. its gone." she said relieved.
"Yeah, about fucking time. Let's get Nicholai." Carlos said.
They had to go through the remains of Nemesis to get to the ladder. They do so while holding their noses.
"Disgusting." Jill said making sure not to come into contact with anything.
"Be careful! We can't afford you coming into contact with anything." Carlos said.
Once they reach the ladder, Carlos had Jill wait at the bottom. "I'll find something up there that can get you to safety." he tells her.
He gets to the top and finds an unopened package of sterile gloves behind the door. "Here!" he said, throwing her the box.
Jill puts on two layers of gloves, just to be safe and climbs up the ladder, making sure not to physically touch it.
Once she was up top and gets behind the door, she removes the gloves. Alarms have been baring since Nemesis was destroyed.
"Nicholai couldn't have gone too far, it didn't take us long with Nemesis, this time." Jill said as they go down a tunnel.
"Right, so where did that fox go?" Carlos said as they enter an aera that had an elevator.
They get on it and go up, reaching a floor with stairs. Going up those they find themselves on a roof with a chopper. They search it, "Hey signal flares! We can use this to get Barry's attention!" Jill said excitedly.
"Good, this thing wouldn't take us too far from here. I want to say, it can take us as far as the outlaying towns." Carlos said looking at the choppers stats.
"How do you know that?" she asks as she sets up the flares.
"Took aviation courses during my time with Umbrella. This thing is in need of repairs." he said.
Jill sets off a signal flare, it explodes once it reached enough altitude. After a few minutes a helicopter is seen coming their way.
Then all of a sudden, Nicholai pops out of nowhere. He kicks Carlos where his knees are and punches Jill to the ground. He then put his weapon on Jill, to keep her still as well as Carlos.
"I believe I promised you two something." Nicholai said holding up the vaccine.
He throws it into the air and shoots it, destroying it.
"You bastard!" Carlos yells. "What have you done?!" Jill looked at him horrified.
"I don't know and I could care less. I was hired to help reduce Umbrella to ashes." Nicholai said.
"Goodbye, my friends." he was about to shoot Jill when Carlos rams into him, and knocks his gun out of his hand.
"You shouldn't let down your guard. You taught me that when we first met." Carlos said as he and Nicholai get up.
The helicopter finally lands and Jill goes over to it but doesn't get in. "Give Carlos a few minutes Barry!" she tells him.
"This better be important! In less then twenty minutes, the missile will launch!" Barry said.
Carlos and Nicholai go at it, throwing punches and kicks at each other, hitting each other at times, other times not.
Carlos was able land a hit on his nose, then garbs him by the shoulders and knees him in stomach. "That was for my teammates you've set up and killed!" Carlos shouts at him.
Carlos then brings him down, elbowing him on the back and uppercuts him in the face, "That was for Mikhail!" he shouts.
Nicholai tries to punch him in the face but Carlos grabs him by the wrist, sprains it and wrenches it behind his back, "That was for Tyrell!" Carlos shouts.
He kicks out Nicholai's knees, letting go of his arm and shoves him on his back. Nicholai reaches for his second gun, but Carlos brings out his handgun and shoots him in the right shoulder.
"Argh!" Nicholai said in pain.
"That was for being a selfish, greedy and unreasonable bastard." Carlos said with his gun still on him.
"Now, who are you working for?" he questions him.
Nicholai laughs at him, "Only if you get me out of here, will I tell you the identity of my client. You can't put a price on life after all." he said.
"Oh? You mean your life right? Then you should save yourself." Carlos said lowering his gun and goes over to the chopper.
"Valentine! Surely you want to know who hired me?" Nicholai shouts at her.
"I'm a super cop, I can do my own detective work." Jill yells as Carlos came over.
They get on the helicopter, just as an announcement said the missile will hit the city in ten minutes.
They take off leaving Nicholai behind, he seemed to be laughing.
"Do you think he can pilot the chopper on the roof?" Jill asks Carlos.
"I don't know if he had any pilot training. If he does, then he'll get himself out of here." Carlos said.
They get to their seats in the chopper, "Thank you Barry." Jill said to him.
"I may not have helped you in taking down Umbrella, but I was not going to leave you to die." Barry said.
"I understand, you were concerned about your family." Jill said.
"Yeah.. Who are you?" Barry asks Carlos.
"Carlos Oliveria. I was once loyal to Umbrella, until this tragedy happened and I opened my eyes." Carlos said.
"Good for you. My name is Barry Burton." Barry introduces himself.
"What happened to Brad?" he asks.
"Brad got bit by a zombie. I don't know what happened after we separated, but he had to have.." Jill trails off.
"I see... Brad may have been a chicken, but he was a S.T.A.R. Proof being he stayed behind with you rather than run off to a different city." Barry said.
"Hey... I ran into him, outside the RPD building. He had turned and I.. I shot him." Carlos said looking away from both of them.
"..I understand." Jill said sadly.
"You did what you had to Carlos... I ended up shooting a teammate who was a zombie at the mansion. His name was Forest Speyer." Barry said remembering the mansion.
A couple minutes after Jill left the baloney, Forest came alive as a zombie. Barry tried to plead with him, but Forest only had one thing on his mind by this point. Barry, who wanted to protect his family, shot at him with a heavy heart.
"It sadly was necessary, he would have bitten you, if you gave him the chance." Barry said coming out of his memory.
"Hey, here comes the missile!" Barry said.
Jill and Carlos look to their left just in time to see it go past them.
It hits the center of Raccoon city, the city and the horrors that were in it, vanished into a mushroom cloud.
Silence.
"Hey Carlos.. You still have it right?" Jill questions him.
"Yes, right here." Carlos answered, he grabs something out of his vest and shows it to her.
It was the vaccine.
"Good thing you thought about separating it from that big vial." he said handing the small vial to her.
"Yes, but I'm not done yet. Umbrella will go down, I won't stop until they are nothing but a memory." Jill said determined.
Jill then pulls out a picture, it was a picture of Chris and Claire Redfield.
"And until I find them, I won't rest." Jill said with fire in her eyes.
Raccoon City is done!
