This is a little off the beaten path, but Jill and Leon are main characters too. Not to mention, I couldn't bring myself to let Steve hang, with Claire not being there.
So welcome to Code Veronica, starring Jill Valentine

A Double Twisted Nightmare Chap 17
December 29th 1998, Unknown Location 8:01pm
Jill was running, she had two armed men chasing her through the halls of the Paris facility. 'How could I have overlooked the obvious?!'
Jill had come to the Umbrella Paris branch in hopes of finding Chris and Claire Redfield. If she couldn't find them here, then she would hope that she could find information that could tell her where they are.
She would also gather evidence, physical. She couldn't with any computer because something was blocking her from it.
When one of her contacts told her that the Paris facility was undergoing maintenance, she decided to take advantage of them opening their doors.
However, after she got deep inside, it became clear that something was wrong. There was no staff anywhere.
She decided to push onwards, finding a computer and tries to access it, when the door was busted down and four armed men came in. She was able to take out two of them, before running out of the room, by another door.
As she ran, she realized that she had been lead right into a trap.
She reaches the end of the hall, but sees a helicopter with lights and a gun mounted on it. She doubles back and gets into another hall, the two men following her weren't so lucky as bullets came through the window, killing them.
She runs down the new hall, the chopper is following her and shoots again at her. Eventually, she reaches the end, rolling down the stairs to get away from the threat outside. She looks up and sees that armed men, at least a dozen, were in front of her and holding their guns on her.
She sees gas behind them and makes a show of surrendering, but at the last moment, she grabs it and shoots the barrels. An explosion sounds knocking her off her feet, but killing a few men as well as incapacitating the rest.
As Jill gets back up, she realizes that someone was coming up to her and turns her gun on him, but he has his gun on her as well. She then hears those who survived get up.
"It's over, Miss Valentine." the man said in front of her.
Jill wakes with a start, she looks around and sees she is in a jail cell.
'Oh, right. Umbrella captured me.' Jill remembered what happened back at the facility. She rubs the back of her head where the guard knocked her with his gun, causing her to lose consciousness. Then faint explosions were heard above her.
'What?!' Jill is alarmed as she stands. It continues on for a while, the power goes out, then silence passes over. She hears movement inside the room and something coming to her.
She brings out Chris's lighter, she grabbed it before Irons banished her from RPD, and lights it, staring at the man who captured her in Paris.
He unlocks the door, "Get out." he said. He was holding his side, Jill realizes he is injured as she leaves the cell. He sits in the chair and looks over a bottle of medicine, before throwing it.
"Great, it's empty." he said, pressing his side.
"What are you waiting for? Get out of here!" he raises his voice at Jill. "What happened?" she asks, staying where she is.
"We were attacked. Who were those people anyway? Not that it matters, this entire island is compromised." he tells her.
"Then how do we escape?" she asks.
"We won't be doing anything. When those people attacked, they unleashed the t-virus. All the men were either wiped out or infected." he said.
"When I remembered that you were still here, I decided to release you. To give you a chance, but I doubt even you will make it out alive." he finishes.
"Maybe I can help?" she asks, meaning his injury.
"Don't concern yourself about me. Thankfully I got hit by a bullet rather than the virus. Now, get lost." he said.
Jill did not leave immediately, she grabs everything that is useful, then she leaves. Using the lighter, she finds ammo by a desk and arms herself with a knife she found. She then heads upstairs.
She sees a truck that is sparking bad, she moves so that she doesn't touch it, but no sooner than she gets away from it, it explodes. She turns and sees a briefcase in the fire, as well as a zombie on fire falling out of the truck.
'Better move on.' Jill decided to come back later, rain descends on the island.
She goes through the grave yard, but something grabs her ankle. She looks down and freaks, it was a zombie.
She frees herself, falling on her butt. However more zombies come out from graves. "Shit! It's like a horror movie come to life!" she shouts as she gets to her feet. She knifes two zombies before making her way out.
No sooner than stepping a couple of feet, a spotlight falls on her form above and bullets fly.
"Shit!" Jill barely dodged the attack, heading behind a wall for safety when she spies a gun at her feet. The bullets kept on coming as Jill loads bullets in the gun.
When it stopped, she shoots at the spotlight, destroying it, before going to the shooter. "Whoa!" was a shout of surprise.
After a moment, the shooter, a young man speaks, "Wait! Stop!"
"Who are you?!" Jill shouts up at the shooter, edging around the corner.
".. Your not a zombie! Give me a second! I'll be down!" the young man said.
He jumps down to her level, Jill sees that is unarmed, but points her gun at him.
"I'm really sorry for shooting at you. I truly thought you were a zombie." he said.
"What's your name?" Jill asks not trusting him.
"Steve Burnside. I've been a prisoner here for about two weeks. I take it your not from Umbrella?" Steve said it as a question, but it was more of a statement.
"No, my name is Jill Valentine." Jill introduces herself to him before lowering her gun.
"Jill.. Jill Valentine! Your from STARS!" Steve said excitedly.
"You know about me?" she asks.
"Yeah! You've been the talk of the island, for the last few days. Most of us were excited at the idea of meeting you!" Steve said.
"I see.. This means they had intended to send me here all along. By the way have you ever heard of Chris or Claire Redfield?" Jill asks him.
"No. Are they siblings?" he asks.
"Yes, here, this is a picture of them." Jill shows him a picture. It was of Chris and Claire in their 'Made in Heaven' jackets, eating in a restaurant.
Steve takes a good at it, "I'm sorry, but I never laid eyes on either of them." he finally said.
"I see, they disappeared in early July. I've been looking for them for awhile." Jill tells him, putting away the photo.
"Was one of them in STARS with you?" Steve asks.
"Yes, Chris was." Jill answered.
".. If they disappeared at that time, they were either moved or they have been killed by now, but I don't think so." Steve said.
"What makes you say that?" she asks.
"If Chris had been sent here, there would have been a rumor about a STARS member here, even months after his capture." Steve said.
'He has a point. If they were that excitable over me, they would have done the same to Chris, even before Raccoon City's destruction.' Jill thinks over Steve's words.
"I would like to know for sure, I take it you don't know where you can find a computer?" Jill asks.
"I have a few guesses but I can't say for sure. Anyway there is an airport somewhere on this island, I'll finally leave this forsaken place." Steve said, heading over to the gate.
"Ok, let's-" Jill gets cut off by Steve. "No, I'll take of it. I don't need anyone." he said, heading through the door.
Jill stared at the door he went through, 'Someone's got a chip on his shoulder.' Jill then follows him through the door.
She finds herself in a new aera with a padded gate to her right, which she checks over. "If only I had a lock pick... I did have one but those men took it away." Jill said remembering it with a scowl.
After she was captured, she was checked over for more weapons and the one doing it, groped her a few times until his captain told him off.
She then headed for the entrance to the building, but not before grabbing an herb. Once she's inside, she sees zombies roaming about. She shoots one before running around the room to find anything that can be of use.
Once that was done she runs into the next room, catching her breath. She pulls out the map she found and looks over the aera. 'Steve must have moved on somewhere around here. Where we met seems to be the only way out of this aera. So we have to go back there at some point. There might be something in the observation room.'
She puts away the map and looks around to see what she can find, she finds a dairy and going further into the bunkhouse hears banging on the window. She tries to grab some ammo but the zombie bursts through the window.
Jill moves away from it but hears noises behind her. "Damn!" she quickly knifes the zombie that came in from the window, then shoots the one from behind her in the head. She knifes the other one for it was on the ground.
When it was all over she grabs the ammo and finds a M-100P gun. 'This gun is nice, unfortunately I have no ammo for it, but I'll take it.'
Once she was ready, she heads back into the barracks and runs passed the zombies, getting back outside.
As she goes down the stairs she hears a growling sound, she ignores it, runs to the corner of the barracks house. When she turns the corner she sees something drag a carcass beneath the building.
'Shit! There's something alive down there!' Jill was glad she didn't have to use the barracks anymore.
She enters through the next gate and find zombies, she dispatches the ones wandering, but leaves the ones who are trapped alone, before heading to the building.
She sees a metal detector, 'Great, it's still on... No choice then.' Jill deposits all the metal stuff she had inside the compartment, when the automated voice said so.
She heads down the corridor to find a strange machine that had a first aid spray near it as well as instructions. She also finds flame and some kind of gas round, which she takes. She heads throughs the next door and hears typing from behind the cabinets.
She turns the corner to see Steve on a computer. "Well, this is somewhat of a bust. I hope Jill won't be too disappointed." he said.
"What's up?" Jill asks, going up to him. Steve turns to face her.
"Well I found this computer online and remembering who you were looking for, tried my hand at it. It said that the Redfield siblings are people of interest to Umbrella, but they have no idea where they can be found." he said as he checks out the command lock.
"Really?!" Jill said as she checks it out, it was the most information she had on them since she started looking for them.
"Yeah, but that was it. Someone didn't like me in their files, so they kicked me out." Steve said, messing with the lock.
"Wait.. Umbrella doesn't have them?" Jill asks aloud, confused.
"That's the way it sounded like to me." Steve said.
'.. Alex did say that she and Wesker had them safety tucked away, but I thought they were still with Umbrella at the time. But they had been working behind the scenes they told me... if they're dead, than why haven't Chris and Claire come out from where ever they are? Could it be..?' Jill was really hoping that what she was thinking wasn't true.
".. I'll contact Leon, he'll come help." Jill said, typing an email. She didn't want to do this, because he's working with the government now, but she has no one else that she can call on right now.
"Eh, forget it. He won't come." Steve said, sternly. He stops messing with the lock.
Jill turns around to face him, "Yes, he will." she tells him firmly.
"You shouldn't rely on others, you'll just end up disappointed." Steve said in a strange tone.
"I should know!" he said in a raised voice before storming out of the room.
'.. Looks like something big happened to him.' Jill observes, before finishing the email and sends it. She checks over the desk and finds an emblem with a hawk on it, taking it.
She checks the door but discovers she can't open it from her side. She flips the lever on the lock and grabs a paper on the desk, before leaving the room.
She heads over to the second metal detector and dumps out all the metal items she collected since she came to this side and head back to where the first one is. She grabs all her stuff that was in there and equips her gun, she then heads back outside.
She goes over to where some shutters are and pushes a button that was flashing, making the shutters go up, however zombies come out from behind the shutters as well as the fence.
"Damn it! Why do they have to be everywhere?!" Jill shouts. She takes notice of an explosion container, runs off to the side, then once all the zombies are together, she takes a shot at the container. All the zombies are gone in the explosion.
She heads in to where the shutters were and grabs a fire extinguisher. She then checks out the fence and finds a key, 'This looks like it can fit in that padlock by the barracks!' Jill takes it before leaving the aera.
As she heads back through the barracks yard, she hears the growling again, this time she remembers hearing it before. 'Mutated dogs.' Jill readies her gun.
As she turns a corner, the dogs burst out from underneath the barracks. Jill dodges and shoots at them until they are dead. She then heads over to the padlock and unlocks the gate, now she doesn't have to go all the way around the barracks.
She returns to the yard and takes out two zombies that started getting up. She then makes sure her gun was fully loaded, before heading back into the graveyard. The zombies were blown away easily.
When she gets to the truck she puts out the fire, with the extinguisher, and opens up the briefcase. She finds a sheet of metal called TG-01, and as she reads over the paper, sees the benefits of it. 'I'll be able to work that machine in the corridor!'
She runs all the way back into the security corridor, drops out all the things she had were metal expect the sheet, and continues to where the machine is.
She puts in the eagle emblem, once it was ready, she puts the metal on the opposite end of the machine. Jill watches the machine completely copies the emblem onto the metal without missing a beat. When it was done, she grabs it and makes her way down the corridor, when glass breaks.
"Fuck!" she shouts as she dodges zombies that had gotten in, and quickly grabs everything she putted in the first metal detector. She then flees all the way to the yard, where she catches her breath.
Once she was ready, she inserts the special alloy emblem into the gate and it was unlocked. She takes a quick look around but doesn't see Steve anywhere. 'I hope he'll be all right.' Jill hopes Steve is safe as she heads through the gate.
She sees a bridge partially destroyed, with a jeep on the edge where it had been destroyed, but saw a grated walkway on the bridge. She gets to the other side, finding ammo and an herb.
She moves a box that wasn't on fire to where other boxes were and climbs over to reach some stairs. She heads up them to find herself in a new aera of the island. 'Of course. Zombies.'
She weaves past them and heads straight for the gate, leading into a fancy courtyard, but she wasn't alone. 'More dogs.' Jill hears their growls, and readies herself.
She gets rid of them, before finding a symbol meaning Navy Proof and an herb on the entrance. She heads in to find an extravagant reception area, 'Ok.. Who is living here?' she wonders curiously.
She finds ammo at the desk, before finding a bathroom with bats. "Gross!" she said as she grabbed everything, before leaving but no sooner than she got out the door, some of the items she has fall to the ground. "Ok, there has to be some storage I can use." Jill said in a huff, grabbing what had been dropped.
She heads upstairs, going to the right and barely opening the door. She sees a box and dumps what she doesn't need into it, she then looks around the room. She grabs some ammo and reads a note.
'This Alfred.. Sounds like he was a totally madman. Hope he isn't around.' Jill heads down the hall to find a locked door that needs guns to unlock it, but sees something underneath a cabinet. She pushes it out of the way and finds an Id card. She grabs a green herb before heading back to that box to decide what she is taking with her.
When she is ready, she heads down stairs and enter the Id card number into the computer. A door unlocks and she heads in to find zombies.
Jill gets rid of them, grabs a red herb, and tries the doors but two of them are locked, but the one at the end of the hall opens. She finds a collection room, looks it over to find ammo and a button underneath a bejeweled ant. She pushes it and something appears on screen.
Jill watches as twins, assuming them to be Alfred and Alexia, torture a dragonfly, before feeding it to the ants.
"Ok.. so not only Alfred is nuts but this Alexia is too. And that is assuming they're here." Jill said aloud, once the movie is over.
A display then moves, revealing a hidden door. As she enters the room, she finds a ship's wheel and grabs it. She looks at the other end of the room to see two guns that are golden and realizes that they can fit into the door upstairs.
"Hmm.. This seems a bit too easy." Jill said, cautiously takes them and alarms go off, sealing her in the room and the heat goes up. She quickly puts them back and everything goes back to normal.
"It definitely would have been too easy to take them. I'll have to come back." Jill said, leaving.
She arrives back at the palace hall and decides to try her luck at the other place at the passage. Just as she touches the door, "Help!"
The shout came from Steve, "Steve!" Jill shouts in concern.
She turns around and runs right back where she came from. Back in the collection room, she sees a computer that shows Steve banging on the display, in an attempt to free himself.
Jill looks over the controls and sees that to turn off the room, a matching game had to be played. She quickly figures it out, and the display moves, freeing Steve. He comes out, breathing as much cool air as possible.
"That was too close!" he said, breathing heavily.
"What are you doing here?" Jill asks, relived he was ok.
"I found out you unlocked the gate and followed you here. I snuck in behind you in this room. I thought I would have better luck in getting these than you." he said, standing up holding the two golden lugers.
"Well you did, in a sense. Please lend me those? I'll find a way to give them back to you." Jill asks.
"Forget it! I got these, fair and square! But I wouldn't mind a trade, however it has to be fully automatic." he said.
Jill did not have anything on her person that was even close. Steve realizes she has nothing to offer, "All right then! See you around Jill!" he said running off.
"Wait! Too late he's gone." Jill groans, now she had to find something that was fully automatic.
She heads back into the hall, fully intending to leave this time, when she spots a red line on her. As it gets to her head, she moves just as bullets start to fly, getting behind a pillar.
"Valentine!" a British voice speaks with rage, "How dare you interfere with my operation?!"
'What the hell?' Jill had no idea what he was talking about.
"I hate to admit it, but letting yourself get captured, just so your people would come here, was genius. Too bad, you won't reap the rewards! I'll make sure of that!" the man said.
"I don't know what your talking about!" Jill shouts as she stands back up.
"I'm not a fool! I am Alfred Ashford of the Ashford family! I am the commander of this base!" Alfred shouts, proudly.
'So that's Alfred.. the Ashford family are the last of the founders of Umbrella.' Jill now knows who she's dealing with.
"Really? A man of noble lineage, running an island base in a backwater part of the world." Jill taunts him.
He shoots his gun in warning at the ceiling, "How dare you!" he shouts in anger.
"My family, is the noblest there is. As you know, the Ashford's, in particularly my grandfather, made Umbrella possible." Alfred gloats.
"Now, how did you inform your people about this island? And why?" he asks, going down the stairs.
"Your mad! Once I was captured by Umbrella, they kept a strict eye on me to make sure I wouldn't escape, even if I tried!" Jill tells him.
"Then why was it shortly after you ended up in my custody, the island was attacked? You had to have informed them somehow." he said, still coming down the stairs.
"I'm telling you the truth! I know nothing about the attack!" Jill protests as she moves to a different side of the pillar.
"You still deny it?! The base has been destroyed! The t-virus escaped and dozens of monsters have appeared!" he said, with anger.
He aims his gun to where Jill is hiding, hoping she would peek around the pillar, "Now talk! Who are you working for?" he demands.
Jill does peek, to see where he is and he shoots at her, but missies, as Jill hides back behind the pillar.
After a moment Alfred speaks, "I suppose it doesn't matter now, your trapped like a rat. I'll be sure to find you some entertainment before I'm done with you."
He laughs like a maniac, before leaving the room.
Jill comes out from behind the pillar, 'That guy is more deluded than I thought... Though he does bring up one point. Who attacked the island?' she wonders.
She decides to finally leave the palace for now and leaves through the doors.
Jill heads down the courtyard to the other staircase that she hasn't used yet. She heads down to find herself at a dock, but sees a gap underneath the stairs. She checks it out, finds more ammo and a map.
'This map for the palace is useful, but not presently.' Jill puts them away before going to the dock itself. She sees a place where the ship's wheel can fit, puts it on, before turning it and a submarine appears, opening a hatch. 'Since the dock moved me towards the sub, I better just go this way.'
She climbs in the sub where she finds a side pack, which she equips.
Going over to the controls, she pulls a lever that moves the sub somewhere. When it stopped Jill heads back up the ladder to find herself somewhere new.
She heads up some stairs, opening a door to find zombies roaming. She dodges them as she heads for the shutters in the room, grabbing ammo that she sees, before escaping the room.
In the next room she sees a plane. 'This must be the airport that Steve was talking about! However the plane can't be accessed at this time.'
Jill heads across the bridge to another pair of shutters, once she was through them, she finds herself in a cargo area. She looks over the railing to see what can be of interest. 'There something behind that huge crate, but I can't move that alone.'
She looks around to see what can help her, when she looks up she sees a crane. 'That'll will work.'
She finds a lift that takes her to the second floor, and sees the controls for the crane. Using the crane, she moves the huge crate out of the way. Before she leaves the floor she's on, she decides to see what else it had to offer.
She heads through the only door, but sees no bridge for her to get to the other side. She takes notice of a machine, that most likely can move it, but it was missing a lever. 'I'll come back once I've found the lever.'
She leaves for the lift and once she was down, heads over to what to huge crate had been blocking, it was controls for a lift. She peers over to where the bigger lift is and sees four zombies standing upright. '.. I don't think I have a choice.' Jill decides to use the lift, noting that the power levels were low.
When the lift activates and levels with the floor, the zombies get off and try to get her. She shoots at them and knifes the one on the ground before grabbing a biohazard card and sees something. 'Bow gun arrows? I don't have a bow gun in my stock.' Jill decides to come back for them, should she get a bow gun.
She heads over to the shutters that she hasn't gone through and sees it need a key to open it. "There nothing more I can do here or the palace, I better go back to the passage where that door is. The other part of this island is a military training aera, it's bound to have something. I hope Steve is ok, I haven't seen him for awhile." Jill
Jill heads all the way back to the passage, weaving past zombies to get to the door leading to the military aera.
She as she thought she could catch her breath, something moves in the ground. It comes up to the surface, it was a huge worm with an open mouth for a face. It lunges for her and she dodges it. It burrows itself back into the ground as Jill gets back up, 'I better move!'
Jill runs to some double doors and gets inside, where she can catch her breath. Then when she was ready, she grabs a red herb uses the card to unlock some shutters that can be unlocked and she heads into an office with zombies. She shoots the ones that standing and knifes the one on the ground.
She checks out the room, grabs what she thought was necessary and prints out a map of the military facility. "Let's see, I'm currently in the front office. The observation room seems like a place to check out." Jill said.
She puts away the map and sees a odd doorway to somewhere but it needed some kind of key to open it.
So she leaves the room to head up the lobby stairs, to find two doors, but one of them was missing a knob. So she heads for the only available door, leading her into the observation room.
As she looks around, she finds a bow gun on top of a paper. Grabbing both, she read the note, "I see, I better get that code in the next room." she said.
She checks out the bow gun, "I'll be sure to pick up any and all arrows now." Jill was glad she had something else to use.
Jill checks out the door leading to the containment room, but sees it needs some clearance, that she doesn't have. Just as she was about to leave, alarms went off in the room. 'What?' Jill peers through the window to see what's going on when a man in a hazmat suit, appears and bangs on the window.
He was clearly begging her for help, but.. "I can't get the door to open!" Jill shouts at him, sadly it was the truth. Then something latches onto him, he falls foreword, his blood over the window before falling to the ground. Grotesque eating sounds are heard.
"Damn!" Jill said in frustration. Umbrella dog or not, no one should die like that. The alarms keep sounding, causing her to see the painting the note talked about but she was too far away from it.
Jill leaves the room and alarms go off, an automated voice speaks, "Biohazard initiated, closing shutters to prevent further contamination."
"Shit!" Jill quickly runs downstairs and rolls just as the shutters reach for the ground. She barely gets through, but is safe as they shut.
As Jill stands, she says, "I got to stay on my toes."
She heads back into the office to grab some arrows, before leaving the room again and uses the card to unlock some shutters that can be unlocked. She heads through the door beside it to find herself in a locker room with zombies. "Let's give this a test drive." Jill said holding the bow gun.
She shoots arrows until they were dead and opens lockers that have more ammo for the bow gun, as well as a corpse holding some. She goes into the next room, that a swimming pool, a sauna and two zombies. She takes out the zombies, before climbing into the pool and tries to drain it but it was broken. She looks around to see a valve, goes to it and turns it, making the water stop.
She then sees something shiny where the water had been gushed out, she wades to it, grabs it, and finds out that it was a key. It was a key to storage. 'On the map, there is a warehouse. This key must unlock something.'
She leaves the room heading back to the lobby, but goes left down the hall, in which the shutters close behind her. 'I'll find another way back.' she thinks as she heads through the door.
As she moves a couple of feet she can feel someone watching her, she looks up and dodges some bullets meant for her, which hit gas barrels, causing an explosion.
'All right Alfred,' Jill thinks as she gets to her feet, 'You wanna play rough, I'll play rough.' she finishes her thoughts.
She dodges his attacks, before going up the stairs to get him, but Alfred didn't want to stick around and fled before she got to the top.
Jill tries the door on her left but it was locked, Alfred had clearly gone this way. 'I'll get him later.'
She then heads opposite the door she was at and heads through the other door. She heads down the hall to find some ammo and heads into the warehouse manager room.
She finds herbs and a bottle of hemostatic. 'I should take this to him.' Jill hadn't forgotten about her captor, who is injured.
While she sees another storage box, she decides to keep what she has on hand. For she was not sure when she'll be back this way.
She leaves the room and heads for the other, but hears the sound of shutters. She runs to where the threshold is, but the shutters drop, cutting her off from the hall.
An insane giggle is heard on a speaker, "Jill. Jill. You are in an area that is special. Feel free to use whatever you want to try and get out of it. However if you give a sorry performance, I make sure your real sorry. I can't wait!" Alfred said, laughing at her again.
'Lunatic.' Jill thinks, as she heads back to the door that leads into the warehouse.
She enters the room and looks to her left to find a pair of sub machine guns, she grabs them, taking note that they aren't loaded. She stands back up and sees it's ammo on top of some creates.
She moves to the stairs, when she hears the door lock and shutters go up, making her turn around to see a hideous creature with one arm and is twisted all around, comes from the hole the shutters were covering.
"Fuck!" Jill shouts as it stretches it's arm towards her, she dodges it. She puts distance between her and the creature before shooting it with her handgun. When it started getting too close, she ran downstairs, but it jumps down.
Jill runs up and down the stairs, firing at it, until finally it falls down dead. "That thing took a lot of bullets. I had to leave the M-100P back at the palace." Jill said, now wishing she brought that gun.
A door unlocks on the first floor, Jill moves to get near it, another one of those creatures appears. Jill is taken by surprise, but recovers and dodges it just as it made a move to grab her.
"All right you-" Jill is interrupted, as glass breaks, Steve had appeared.
He lands safely on the ground and starts shooting at the monster. He stops for a brief moment to check on Jill, who just blinks at him, then turns to continuing shooting at the monster, eventually kicking it into the wall. It was dead.
"No thanks needed! I, Steve Burnside, will be your knight in shining armor Jill!" Steve said, clearly proud of himself.
Jill hides her smile from him, "Right, but I could've handled it, just fine." she said.
"Come on, you can't deny you need me." Steve said.
"If you say so." Jill said.
"By the way, I found these." Jill said, holding up the machine guns she found.
"No way! Machine guns! Can I have those?" Steve asks like a kid in the candy store.
"As long as I get the lugers." Jill said.
"Fair is fair." Steve agrees and they exchange guns.
Steve checks out the guns, "Now this is a weapon! Look out monsters your done!" he shouts and tries to shoot them but only clicking sounds are heard.
"What the? They're empty!" he exclaims in surprise, then he hears giggling from behind him.
He turns to see Jill laughing at him, "You tricked me!" he said.
"Don't worry," Jill says calming down, "The ammo for those are up there on the creates."
"Up there?" Steve repeats.
"Yeah, give me a hand and I'll get it for you." Jill said.
Steve get on his hands and knees as close as he can get to the creates and Jill get on his back.
"Would you hurry up? Your quite heavy." he complains.
Jill gets off his back and he gets up, "Here's the ammo." Jill said, holding it out to him. Steve grabs it and inserts them in, when the lift their on goes down.
"Wha?!" Steve said alarmed.
Alfred's voice is then heard, "I must say Jill, you have a fine knight with you. He can join you as you descend into hell." he laughs.
Once the lift stops moving, they see a door. "Time to test drive these babies. Follow me Jill!" Steve said heading out the door.
Jill decides to let him have his moment as they head through the door. In the next were four zombies.
"Need some help?" Jill asks teasing him.
"No, I got this!" Steve said. He takes care of the two zombies that weren't behind shutters and aims his guns to a gas container, behind the shutters and the remaining two are no more.
"Hey.. I think there's a grenade launcher over there." Steve said, he took a second look to make sure the zombies were gone.
"That would be nice to have, but there's no way to open the shutters right now." Jill said.
They head through the door on their left and Steve blows away all the zombies, Jill did find some ammo.
They head into the boiler room, where zombies are all over the place. Steve waits until they get close enough to the gas containers, then shoots them, the zombies were gone.
Jill takes notice of the vent pipe, it was green. She reads the instructions on what to do should it malfunction.
They walk in the next room to find themselves on an iron bridge, no zombies are seen. "All right! See Jill, this is why you need me." Steve said.
He holds up his guns to look at them, "These are better than people! They can be relied on!" he said.
"What? How can you say such a thing?" Jill asks.
Steve seems to realize he may have said something he shouldn't have and becomes silent. He then turns to head for the door, but Jill's voice stops him.
"Steve.. Why are you here? Were you in the wrong place, wrong time scenario? Is there someone in your family-?" Jill asks, but interrupted.
"Shut up!" Steve shouts at her and points his gun to the far wall, shooting at it loudly. Jill doesn't flinch as he does this.
When he was done, he lowers his arm and speaks, "I don't want to talk about."
"Steve.. " Jill starts to say, but stops herself. 'Maybe now isn't the time.' Jill did want to know what happened to him, but they had a maniac on their tails.
".. Let's go." Steve said.
They get on an elevator and it goes up. Both of them are lost in thought. 'The moment I said the word family, he got upset. Was his family the reason why he is here?' Jill ponders as she holds the lighter, it was dark.
They arrive on the second floor and as soon as the doors open, Steve runs out for the next door. Jill could not bring herself to stop him this time. She steps out into the new aera and follows him, after checking the shutters.
Jill sees that Steve waited for her, goes over to where he is, but the ground beneath them collapses.
"Ah!" they shout in surprise as they fall to the floor below.
They fall unto a hard floor, with debris on Jill's legs. Upon recovering, Jill tries to free herself.
Steve then recovers, "You all right Jill?" he asks her.
"Yeah, nothings broken- Steve! Behind you!" Jill shouts.
Steve gets and turns to were Jill said a monster was, it was a zombie.
Steve looks it's face and starts acting strange. "No.. " he said backing up.
Jill asks in a panic, "Steve! What's wrong?! Why won't you shoot?!"
"I-I can't!" he said still backing away.
"Why not?!" Jill asks again.
"This- This can't be real!" he said going to a stop, closing his eyes.
However the zombie stops going after Steve, it changes course and heads over to Jill.
"Steve!" Jill shouts for his attention, but he does not move.
The zombie crouches down, getting ready to eat her. Jill curls her body in a futile attempt to save herself and just as it touch her with it's hands, she shrieked.
This snapped Steve out of his trance and looks at the zombie, it was about to bite Jill. "Father!" he screamed.
He shoots at the zombie, knocking it off to the side and keeps going till all his bullets are gone.
He breaths heavily as Jill uncurls herself and stares at him. "Steve.." Jill didn't know what to say.
Steve falls to knees, looking devastated and says, "Father.." which he repeats.
After a few minutes, Steve gets up and helps Jill out of the beams that held her hostage. He then sits on the floor with back to Jill, as she stands, he was staring at his father's body.
A moment passes before Steve speaks, "My father worked for Umbrella. When Raccoon City was destroyed, father decided that there was no point in staying with a company that would be put down in a couple years. So he started stealing information from them, but he wasn't going to give it to the government. He was planning on giving it to whoever would pay the most, but he was not as careful as he thought he was. USS raided our home, and arrested us all, however a scuffle happened and mom was killed. Then, dad and I were sent here."
"Steve..." Jill said. She now understood why Steve no longer wants to trust others.
"I still can't believe he was that reckless! He obviously knew how dangerous Umbrella can be! Me and mom had no idea that everything the media said was true! But we were going here with him just because Umbrella thought we were aware! He is the reason that mom died!" Steve finishes with a sob, burying his face in his knees.
Jill bends down to his level and touches his shoulder, saying, "It's ok."
They stay like that for a moment, before Jill stands again. "Steve.. I'm going to go on ahead. Come find me when your ready." she tells him. He doesn't say anything.
She finds some bullets before leaving the room. In the next room Jill blow guns away two zombies and grabs more handgun ammo. She heads down the hall to a diorama room. She sees a picture that represents the room, but looking around it was missing a picture, the skeleton one she saw earlier at the lab.
She grabs the eagle plate and knew where it was supposed to go. She goes back to the garage, giving Steve his space. He was right where she left him and heads through the double doors.
As she enter the tank yard, she hears growling. Jill readies herself as one of the dogs comes around the tank. She kills both of them with her handgun and looks around to find more bow gun arrows.
"Hmm.. I think I'll back track for now." Jill decides to head to the palace for the time being.
She gets back to the exercise yard grabbing some more bow gun arrows on oil drums, before dodging the worm again before getting to the door that leads out of here.
As she tries to cross the bridge, she takes note that the zombies disappeared, two more creatures with one arm slung themselves on the bridge. "Damn it!" Jill readies her gun.
It wasn't easy, one of them was able to hit her a few times, but she got rid of them. "Those things cost way too many bullets." Jill said, healing herself. She then heads to the palace.
When she enters the hall, she hear moans coming from zombies. "Hell, Alfred, you are pulling out all the stops, aren't you?" Jill asks aloud, as she readies her bow gun.
She dispatches all the zombies in the room, before heading into the secretary's office and to it's storage box. She puts away what she doesn't need right now and grabs what she does. She heads over to the special lock door and inserts the golden lugers, the door unlocks.
She enters to find an office, but sign of Alfred. She checks out the room, seeing shattered pictures, finding handgun bullets, rummaging through Alfred's desk. She finds a memo that probably is important to something and turns on his computer to see the movie she saw in the collection room.
"Disturbing that it's on here.. but I wonder if ants and dragonflies have some sort of meaning around here." she said.
When the movie stops, Jill hears a noise coming from the old music box by the fireplace. When she looks she sees a glowing blue mechanism on it, she realizes it can move, but looking back at the computer, she sees it needs a password.
Jill heads over to the music box and sees there are two buttons. Realizing that this is what the memo was talking about, she did as it said and discovers the password for the computer.
She goes back to it and inputs the numbers, in which the music box plays out a tune as well as a puppet show. When it ends, the music box moves, revealing a secret passage way.
No sooner than the box moved, another one of those creatures broke through the window behind her. "Arrgh!" Jill said in frustration as she runs for the secret passage, she did not have enough ammo to take it down right now.
As she enters the passage she grabs a blue herb before heading to the door. She heads down a covered bridge before going up some steps to see the residence that the secretary's note had talk about, when she hears a disturbing feminine laugh.
'So Alexia is here? Double trouble then.' Jill knew the female voice had to be Alexia.
Jill arrived in a run down courtyard, where two more of the stretch monsters are lurking about. She dodges both of them, before heading up another set of stairs to find a red herb, she grabs it, before heading through the double doors, just as one of the monsters come up to the upper level.
As she looks around the room she sees stairs leading to the second floor, a door to the left and bats flying around. She decides to check out what's behind the door before going upstairs.
She heads in to find one of the stretch creatures, but Jill dodges it's attacks and grabs the ammo that is in the room before escaping. As she catches her breath outside the dining room, she thinks, 'This place is filled with monsters like everywhere else. Not to mention this place is a disaster zone, at least the first floor is.'
Once she recovers she heads up the stairs and find a couple of items, before going over to the only useable door.
As she enters, she hears voices. "Honestly, brother, we have only this woman and that brat. At least as far as we know. Why are you having trouble with them?" a woman says.
"I'm sorry Alexia. I am doing my best, I can assure you of that." Alfred said. Jill had creeped up by this point to peer into the window to see a woman in a purple dress with long blonde hair.
"Alfred, you are supposed to bring glory back to the Ashford family. How are you do so when your letting interlopers run over you?" Alexia scolds her brother.
"I know that it is my job, bringing glory back to our family name. I will to that, and you dear sister, will be the master of our family. As it always would be." Alfred tells her.
"That's good to hear. I'll take a turn to rid us of these pests and then- Who's there?!" Alexia seems to realize she and Alfred were being spied on.
Jill hears footsteps coming to the window and quickly heads to the corner so she wasn't found.
"Is there a spy?" Alexia asks as she looks out the window into the hall.
"If there is, I will kill them." Alfred said.
After a moment passes, Alexia speaks, "I think I'm allowing our situation to get to me. There is no one there. Come brother, let us go work on things to rid of the vermin."
Jill waits until she could no longer hear footsteps, before exploring the corridor. She grabs a couple of items before trying the door to Alfred's room.
She explores his room, but doesn't find anything useful, she does find a card that has a message on it from Alexia to Alfred. The only other thing she found interesting was a music box, but she can't open it at this time. 'Not to mention, I don't have anything that can be played on it, assuming it doesn't have any.'
She then heads for Alexia's room, as she enters, she hears a beautiful melody playing on Alexia's music box. As she checks it out, she sees something on the music plate but can't get it out. So Jill decides to turn it off, this action make Alexia's bed look like one with it's canopy raised and Jills sees a key on it, she grabs it.
'Ok, I know this key can fit in the palace.' Jill knows where she is going next.
The canopy lowered back and brings the ladder with it, but Jill decides to try it later. She did not want to run into the siblings right now.
She heads back the secretary's office at the palace. Going through the storage box to decide what is staying and what is leaving with her before heading to the only door on the second floor that she couldn't get into.
She passes through the door to find herself in a casino lounge. She finds items as well as blow gun powder, she also sees a piano but it is an old fashioned one, it was missing it's roll.
'A piano is out of place in here, there must be something in there.' Jill knows she'll have to come back later.
Remembering only one other set of doors that require the silver key, she leaves the casino, heading downstairs to the single door leading to a set of double doors. She unlocks them and sees two stretch monsters about.
She uses the bow gun on them until they die, dodges their attacks, but gets hit a couple of times by them. She heals herself, before exploring the room some ammo and a report.
'This report says that a B.O.W capsule was delivered here.. I hate to say it but considering how the report is written.. it is probably a tyrant.' Jill did not want to deal with that creature.
She goes to the center of the room and removes the second eagle plate. She makes a quick drop off the storage box, grabbing the bottle of hemostatic, before leaving the palace.
She runs all the way back to where she was imprisoned, using the lighter to brighten up the room, before approaches the man. He was slouched over on the desk, he jolts when he hears movement and points his gun at Jill.
"What are you doing back here? I told you to get." he said lowering his weapon. Jill says nothing as she places the medicine on the desk.
"This is hemostatic... Thank you." he said.
Jill places the lighter on the desk, "Let me help you with that." she said, getting closer to him, but he stops her.
"I'm grateful that you brought this, but I can take care of the rest." he said.
Jill looks at the lighter before looking back at him, "This lighter belongs to a man I love, but I think you need it more. You keep it." she said.
The man is silent for a moment, "Thanks.. Here, this is yours." he finally said, giving her lock pick back.
"I'm sorry that the one who took it from you, took advantage. And that I took this long to give it back." he apologizes to her.
"You know my name, tell me yours, before I leave." Jill asks.
"My name is Rodrigo Juan Raval. Don't expect anymore favors. Now get out of here and don't come back." Rodrigo said, before falling asleep.
Jill leaves, back for the military training facility. She stops back at the front office, using the storage key and getting more blow gun powder. She then uses the silver card to bypass shutters again, heading for the back courtyard.
When she's outside, she finds zombie dogs on the prowl and gets rid of them with her handgun. She heads up the stairs to the balcony and inserts one of the eagle plates into a stone pedestal. It opens revealing a indigo card, with the Ashford family crest.
'I can use this to get passed more shutters!' Jill realizes excitedly.
She heads back downstairs, over to a chain link fenced aera to see a ladder in a hole. She goes down it to find the ventilation circuit, but continues on reaching the boiler room, which is cut off by shutters.
Jill uses the emblem card and they go up. Heading across the room to the door that will take her to the grenade launcher. Before she does, she goes in the weapons repair shop to lock pick the cabinet and finds acid rounds, which she takes.
'I can now pick up all grenade shells.' Jill was glad she didn't have to use bullets and arrows all the time on the stretch monsters.
She leaves the room, goes over to the shutters, using the card to raise them, and grabs the launcher. 'What do you know, it's already loaded.'
She enters through the door to find herself at the turntable room and two stretch monsters. She dodges their attacks before grabbing more arrows and leaving through the same door that she came in.
Catching her breath, she heads for the elevator and pushes the button for the second floor. Once there she goes to the shutters, swipes the card and they go up, revealing the command center for the first time.
She goes past the body that had fell to her feet, once the shutters were and she shot it in the head. She shoots the other body in its head before grabbing stuff, including army proof.
She checks out one of the screens that describe a creature that she has never encountered before, but keeps it in mind.
She then checks out the security cameras, one was in the lab on the second floor. She checks it out, unsurprisingly everyone who was in there is dead due to the creatures escaping. Jill realizes the camera can zoom in and uses it on the skeleton picture, learning the code.
No sooner than learning the code the alarms stop blaring, the room was cleared of any biohazard. 'Good, now I can get the picture.'
Jill unlocks the door leading to the back courtyard and runs back to the lobby. She heads upstairs, back into the observation room and goes over to the computer lock. After the code was put in, the door unlocks and she heads inside.
She looks around but like with the camera, she doesn't see anything. She grabs ammo before getting the picture, but once takes it, the albinoid infants make an appearance.
The automated voice says that it will activate protocol to prevent contamination and to evacuate immediately. "Fuck!" Jill shouts getting out of the room and downstairs as fast as she could.
She catches her breath as the shutters close behind her.
When she was ready, she starts for the back courtyard ladder and to the elevator, heading to the diorama room. She takes care of two zombies, before entering said room.
She places the picture on the wall and another wall moves to reveal the rest of the room shown in the painting.
She checks out a model of the facility, finding a golden key and uses the lock pick on one of the displays, getting a first aid spray.
'I'll head back to the palace, I'm curious to know what's behind the last door.' she leaves the room.
She jogs back to the palace, goes to the secretary's office to sift through what she has. When she was ready, she heads back downstairs to the corridor and unlocks the last set of doors.
She finds herself in a portrait room, it had pictures of the Ashford family dating all the way back to its founding.
She goes up to Alfred's painting and finds a paper that was from his butler, describing an vase. She also reads the riddle on it, saying something about the true master.
'If I remember right, back in Alexia's bedroom, Alfred said she is to be the head of the Ashford family.. How does that fit in here?' she wonders.
Jill then looks at the portrait and see a button below it. She looks at the others and sees that they were all like that.
Since the butler's note started with Veronica, she starts there, working her way down the family tree of portraits.
When she hits Alfred's button, the wall the painting is on rotates. It does a 180, revealing a different painting, this one had Alexia on it. That wasn't all, there was the vase the note mentioned on the self.
Taking it, Jill checks it out to find a red jeweled ant inside of it. Underneath it, it says Queen Ant.
She then makes the choice to head back to the prison, for there were rooms she couldn't get into before. She runs all the way to the execution yard, blowing a couple zombies that had wandered in from the time she left.
She inserts the last eagle plate into the door, it opens and zombies come out. Jill takes care of them with her bow gun.
She goes over to the new door and enters through it, running past some zombies that are in there and into a yard that she realizes connects with observation room. The door she couldn't open.
she grabs ammo, before she climbs over one box and pushes it away from the door. With that the door can now be opened. 'I can now get those items that I couldn't before, due to the metal detectors.'
She does just that, grabbing all the items, before going back to where the zombies are, dodging them, grabbing an herb, and entering through a new door.
She explores a clinic like aera grabbing items that can be of use. She checks out the body on the bed, 'This one wasn't killed by the virus, I think it's anatomy that did this.' Jill shoots it in the head so that it wouldn't come back as a zombie.
Going into the little office she goes over a note left by anatomist. 'This guy was as wacko as Alfred, oddly enough, there is no mention of Alexia. So, she stays up there in the residence all day?' Jill ponders.
Moving on to the next room, though she thought she heard something behind. She sees zombies wondering some on fire, some not. She shoots a couple of them and runs around the room grabbing everything that is useable, including a case.
She then dodges and runs back into the last room she went into, but she wasn't alone. She hears a zombie eating the body she shot at before.
Quietly, she lockpicks the case and it opens to reveal customizable gun parts, that can fit her gun. She applies them to it before confronting the zombie, that she realized came from the body bag and that it was the anatomist, due to his attire.
She shoots at it while it was distracted, and it falls to the ground, completely dead. She searches the body to find a glass eye, which she knows belongs to the fake body in the little office.
She goes over to the fake body and put in the glass eye, a wall behind her opens up to reveal a secret passage. She heads down the steps and shoots at the bats so that they won't bother her, before picking an herb.
She continues down the dark hallway, until she finds another door. She opens to find herself in a torture chamber and zombies. She takes down the zombies and grabs more ammo, when she notices a stairway leading down.
She follows it to another door and heads in. She sees statues all around the room, with one holding a rusty blade. She takes it but it was booby trapped, the door locks and one of the statues twisted up and started releasing gas.
She sees a way to put the statue back into position, she pushes on the rail that was sticking until it was full circle and the statue returns to the ground stopping the gas. The statue that was holding the blade then turns revealing an iron maiden.
'Don't see those anymore.' Jill looks it over and sees a spot where the blade can be put in. She inserts the blade into the center of it, the door unlocks but a zombie comes out of the maiden. Jill gets rid of it, before she finds a piano roll inside the maiden, which she takes.
She then heads back to the palace, there was no longer anything else to do.
As she approaches the double doors, she hears a voice, "Ah, Jill. It's been a while."
Jill froze as she recognizes the voice. She turns around and sees a ghost in the flesh. "Alex?" Jill asks in shock.
Alex walks to Claire, speaking, "To think we meet again, but it's fitting. I now can do what the mansion failed to do."
Jill snaps out of her shock, "You were the one who attacked the island!" she said.
"Yes, as well as Albert. I know you thought we were dead back in July, but as you can see, we are back. Stronger than ever before." Alex said.
Jill reaches for her gun, but Alex takes her by surprise. She appears right in front of her despite being away a few feet and grabs her by the face.
"You have been doing us a favor, by taking care of Umbrella Europe. However, we can't let you get in our way! So it appears this night is your last." Alex said.
"I won't go down that easily." Jill said back.
Alex smacks her, sending her a few feet from the stairs. Jill gasps, as the wind was knocked out of her. She tries to get to her feet and grab her gun, but Alex once more appears beside her, grabbing her by the hair.
"Ugh!" Jill said in pain. She reaches to pull Alex off her, but it was like she was a boulder.
"This will be painful, but don't worry. I won't tell Christopher the details." Alex said.
'That's right! They have Chris and Claire. They've had them this whole time!' Jill now knows who has them.
"If your going to do it, do it. Just grant me this last request. Tell me where they are." Jill asks. While Alex has taken her by surprise, she has no intention of dying.
"Trying to be cute? You won't ever know." Alex said, then a beep sound is heard.
"What?" Alex asks, raising her hand to her earpiece.
"Whatever it is your doing, stop. I need you back here to look over something." Albert said.
"I have Jill at my mercy, I will finish her off." Alex said.
"You can finish your cat fight with her another time. If there is one thing I can say, is that between the two of us, you are more gifted academically. I need you now." Albert said.
'Something must have stumped Albert good, if he needs my help with something.' Alex thinks in amusement.
"Very well, I'll be right there." she replies back, holding Jill firmly as she struggles.
"Well Jill, it appears you get to live a while longer. I have other business that requires my immediate attention." Alex said, letting her go.
Jill tackles Alex to the ground, causing the sunglasses she was wearing to fall off, revealing amber colored eyes. 'What?' Jill stares at this in shock.
Alex slaps Jill off her, making her fall to the ground a couple feet away. Jill catches her breath again as Alex gets back on her feet.
"See you next time Jill." Alex says as she walks down a bit of the stone path. "Once I return to my Beloved Christopher, I'll be sure to tell my husband that your still alive." with these words, Alex jumps over the wall and disappears.
Jill stares in shock, over what Alex just did and with what she said.
'No.. There is no way Chris would marry a heartless bitch like her.' Jill thinks.
She gets back on her feet and head into the palace. She runs up the stairs to the casino, and puts the piano roll in the piano. It plays a melody and one of the machines opens up at the bottom. She checks it out, finds another jeweled ant, this one is blue, and underneath it says King Ant.
She heads for the office and grabs the Queen Ant, before heading back to the residence. She dodges monsters all the way back to Alexia's room.
Looking at her music box, she sees that it has red jewels and places the queen ant on it. The music box unlocks, revealing the music plate. She takes it and sees the words that talks about the ants.
She heads to Alfred's room and puts the king ant on his music box. It opens, she puts in the music plate, and when it plays, Alfred's bed canopy comes down revealing a ladder.
Jill climbs up the ladder to find herself in a play room. 'Strange..'
She sees herself on a carousal with a ladder, but there is no way to go up.
She looks around to find a herb and a silver dragonfly. Remembering the video back in the palace, she takes off it's wings and looks at the painting of an ant to a hole where it's mouth is suppose to be. She inserts the dragonfly in the mouth, hearing movement she turns around.
The carousal moves to a melody, before stopping one eighty. Jill see that the ladders had connected, giving her a way up.
When she reaches the top, she looks around to see a study. She finds some ammo and a newspaper clip, it describes a child graduating from a university and being offered the position head researcher at Umbrella, but the child had been no more than ten years old.
'Interesting yet disturbing at the same time.' Jill wonders if the child was Alexia.
She then spies something on top of selves, she pushes a box towards it, before climbing on it and grabs, not one but things.
She has the air force proof, but was curious as to what the letter she found, had inside. She opens it and sees it was a love letter, Alfred describing his feelings for Alexia.
'Ok, whole new level of creepy. I better spilt before they find me in here.' Jill leaves the study and takes the ladder down into Alexia's room.
Just as she reaches the door to leave, she hears a noise behind her and a gun being cocked.
"Jill Valentine." a voice speaks, the same one she heard before in this room. Jill turns and sees the woman in the purple dress in front of her, holding a gun.
"Alexia Ashford?" Jill asks.
"Yes, we meet face to face now, but your demise has been set. For the pride of the Ashford's must continue." she said.
She shoots at her but she dodges it. Alexia however knew how to use a gun and reloads it, just as Jill recovers. Alexia was about to shoot at her again, when the bedroom door is kicked open.
It was Steve, "Hey, what's going on?!" he shouts.
Steve and Alexia see each other and point their weapons at the other but Alexia gets a shot out which hits Steve. However this caused a chain reaction, Steve's finger was on the trigger, he pushes it after he was hit, and bullets fly, one hits Alexia.
"Arrgh." she said in pain.
Jill checks on Steve, when she hears something. She turns to see the stone piece that separates the two bedrooms move.
"I thought there was something odd, a secret way is there." Jill said.
"Let's head after her." Steve said as they get up.
"Are you sure? Maybe you should rest." Jill said.
"I'll rest once were out of here. Now let's check that statue." Steve said.
As they check over the statue, Jill speaks, "Something is off about Alexia.. " she said.
"What makes you say that?" Steve asks.
"I'm not sure.. " was Jill's answer.
They find a button that can activate the statue, they head into Alfred's room, but they only find Alexia's dress on his bed.
"She didn't hide underneath the bed." Steve said, letting the bed skirt fall into place.
"Wait.. This is a wig." Jill said. She pulls the wig off the music box and realizes it was the same style as Alexia's hairdo.
"Hah!" Alfred shouts as he comes down from the canopy, nearly hitting Jill with his gun, but she dodged him.
Steve moves, making sure Alfred couldn't get a shot at them, before kicking him in the stomach, knocking him into the vanity.
When Jill and Steve look at his face, they see he is wearing make up. Steve points his guns on him.
Alfred had the wind knocked out of them, as was gathering his bearings, he sees that Jill and Steve were looking at him oddly.
When he feels his hand touch the mirror, he turns to see what they were looking at and sees make up on his eyes and lips.
He is horrified by what he sees and screams, before running away.
"So that's why Alexia was off, he was dressed up as her." Jill said, after he left.
"So there never was an Alexia? He thought he was her?" Steve asks.
"Yeah, but there was definitely an Alexia at some point. They were on a video together and I found a newspaper clip that describes a child prodigy graduating from an university. I'm pretty sure it was talking about Alexia. They were twins." Jill said.
"I see, maybe she died and he lost it. Started dressing up as her in order to keep her alive." Steve said.
"Might be." Jill said.
Then an automated voice speaks, "The island will self destruct."
"That idiot! He's blowing up the island and us with it!" Steve said alarmed.
"To the airport!" Jill said.
They leave the residence and head into the secretary's office.
Jill opens the storage box, "Steve help me grab things! If there's one thing I learned since fighting zombies. You should have everything at your disposal. At least till your safe." she said reaching in.
"All right." he said.
They grab everything, the other proofs, weapons, ammo, and healing items.
As they leave the palace for good, they hear noises in the sky. They look up and see planes.
"Do you think they're survivors?" Steve asks as they head to the dock.
"Possible, but they might be reinforcements." Jill said, spinning the wheel.
"For who?" Steve asks as they head inside the sub.
"The people who attacked this island. I met one of the leaders earlier." Jill said pulling the lever.
Once they arrive at the airport, they head for the boarding aera, Steve took care of any remaining zombies.
They arrive at the aera, turning on the power lift. When it was ready, Jill puts in the proofs. Steve gets on, Jill hits the switch and the lift extends to the plane door.
Steve drops all the stuff he had into the storage box and gets in the pilot seat, but sees a problem. "Jill! That bridge is in the way!" he said.
Jill, after putting away all the stuff she was carrying, spies a lever on the ground and grabs it. "I'll go take care of it! Can you get this thing ready?" she asks.
"Yeah, took pilot lessons for about a year. Get going! Who knows when this island will blow!" he said.
Jill gets back to the lift and when it reconnects with the floor, she runs to the cargo bay lift. Arriving back on the second floor, she heads over to the machine she couldn't work before.
She inserts the lever and pulls it down, causing the bridge to come up, but trapping her from the plane. Jill runs across the bridge into the maintenance room and finds three dead bodies with one of them holding a key.
She takes and sees it can unlock the shutters downstairs. Before she leaves she lock picks the cabinets and finds a first aid spray. She hurries back downstairs and unlocks the shutters.
She heads in and sees that the cargo bay doors were have problems. She pushes some boxes in and the doors are normal, grabs everything useful lying about before going back to the shutters.
A warning that the island will be destroyed in five minutes, as she enters the lift. 'I'm taking the long way back but there is no choice.' Jill thinks as the lift goes up.
Unfortunately, Alfred, lost in his madness, releases the creature Jill feared: the Tyrant.
She arrives at the exercise yard, leaving through the door to go back to the airport when an explosion happens behind her. She was flung for a couple of feet, when the fence was thrown away from it's holdings.
The Tyrant came out of the facility, thankfully Jill was prepared. She has her grenade launcher and fires at it until it falls.
She then gets back to the plane as fast as she can.
Steve turns to her when she gets in, "What the hell took you? I was getting worried!" he said.
"I'll explain later let's get out of here." she said.
Steve turns back to the controls, "Ok were done with this place!"
Steve Gets the plane to move and they lift off, just as the island is engulfed in flames. They look at each other in triumph.
"Ah ha! We did it Jill!" Steve said excitedly.
"Yes, now we just need to find somewhere safe. Then I need to contact Leon again, hopefully before he reads the email." Jill said.
Steve then looks away, "Hey, Jill.. I'm sorry for the trouble I caused you." he said.
"It's fine, you weren't the only one who had their fair of troubles tonight." Jill said, resting a hand on his shoulder.
"I do hope you find those two, speaking of them.. Never mind, it's not important. But at least you aren't alone." Steve said, not looking at her.
"Your not alone Steve." Jill said.
Silence.
"Say Jill, where should we go? We have enough fuel that we should be able to go anywhere in the pacific and beyond." Steve said.
"Well, perhaps a visit to New Zealand. I have heard it's quite beautiful." she said.
"Ok, New Zealand it is." Steve said.
Unbeknownst to them, Alfred, still lost in his insanity, was coming after them. In his Alexia persona, he gets to the private airport of the facility and pilots a jet.
After a few minutes, something rocks the plane and emergency lights come on. "What?!" Steve said.
He checks over the controls and sees where the problem is. "Somehow the cargo hatch is open!" he tells Jill.
"I'll go check it out." Jill said.
"Thanks and be careful!" Steve said.
Jill searches through the box real quick and grabs a few things. Then she goes into the cargo bay and sees that the tyrant had survived, it turns around to face her.
She takes note of the metal create beside her, before firing grenade shells at the tyrant. It swings its spike like hand at her, injuring her. Thankfully she brought healing items.
The battle last for a good few minutes, but once the tyrant was injured enough, Jill heads back to the cargo bay controls and releases the metal create from it's holdings. It hits the monster, causing both of them to fly out and be destroyed.
Jill uses the controls to close the hatch before heading back to the cockpit.
"Hey, what was it?" Steve asks when she came back in.
"Don't worry. It won't bother us again." Jill said.
As Jill goes to the other seat, the controls rebel against Steve. This causes the plane to jerk, startling the two of them.
"What?! Steve what's going on?" Jill asks him.
"Somehow the plane is no longer under my control!" Steve said. He looks up at the beeping noise, which began as soon as the plane moved by itself.
"The hell? Autopilot is engaged! But, I didn't touch that!" Steve said confused.
Steve tries to switch back to manual but.. "It's stuck!" he said.
They then hear a familiar voice on the monitor above them, "So sorry, but you two will not escape me." Alfred said, in his female voice.
"Alfred.." Jill growls, "If I see you again, I will let you have it."
The monitor turns off, Steve turns to her, "Now what? We're stuck going where ever he has us going." he said.
"Let's get some rest. Where ever it is were going, we'll need it." Jill said.
They lean against the wall of machines on the plane and fall asleep.
Hours later Steve wakes up and sees that Jill was still sleeping with her head on his shoulder. She then moves off him leaning against the machines.
He stares at her, he leans in closer to her face, about to kiss her, when she makes a noise that signals she's waking up. He backs off before notices what he was doing and gets up.
He looks out the window, to see if they were over the ocean still. "Hey where are we?" he asks loudly causing Jill to snap at attention.
Steve checks the locations on the plane gauges. Jill gets up by this point and looks outside to snow covered mountains.
"What the fuck? We're in Antarctica!" Steve said in shock.
Even Jill was shocked, 'Why did Alfred have us come here?' she wonders.
They get into the seats, and see something in the distance. "Hey there's a base here.. Wait those are the planes that we saw leaving the island!" Jill said as they get closer.
"So this must be an Umbrella base!" Steve said.
As they get closer to it the plane starts descending, Steve speaks, "Brace yourself! I can't control the plane for us to land safely."
They brace themselves, the plane hits the ground and skids along until it crashes into one of the buildings. However the planes actions causes them to lose consciousness.
Somewhere in east Europe
Leon just finished a mission, and was getting ready to go back to the States when he decided to check his email. 'I got mail.. It's from Jill!' he opens it and reads it's contents.
Leon, I was able to find information on Chris and Claire. It wasn't much, but there's a document that implies, that Umbrella doesn't have Chris or Claire. While I'm at a loss as to how to find them now, I'm in a bad situation. While in Paris, I ended up being captured by Umbrella. I was taken to this island called Rockfort. However the island ended up being attacked and the t-virus was used. Zombies and monsters are crawling all over the place, I was told there's no way off. Please come help, the coordinates are below this letter. Jill.
'Damn! She got herself in hot water.' Leon quickly types an email to send to his boss, one to Sherry, and logs off. He grabs his gear and heads to the airport to find someone to give him a ride.
He sees a pilot, tending to his plane, and walks up to him. "Excuse me sir, I was wondering if you can take me to this location." Leon tells him where he needs to go.
"Sure, I'm heading to New Zealand, I'll drop you off on the way. Here is a parachute." the pilot hand him a parachute, which he then puts on.
'It will be my first time actually using this.' Leon pats the parachute as he gets on board. He had practice already wearing it, but never had to use it.
As he waits for the plane to warm up, he thinks about Jill's email. 'If Umbrella doesn't have Claire or Chris, then where are they? They should have been found when the Wesker siblings died, if they died.' Unlike Jill, Leon was a little more convinced that they are alive.
'Jill's right about one thing, finding them will be harder now, that we know Umbrella doesn't have them.' Leon then thinks about Sherry and what he is to tell her.
The pilot calls from the cockpit, "We're ready for take off!"
'Hold out Jill! I'm coming!' Leon prays that Jill will be all right, as the plane takes flight.
Leon coming to the rescue! Not much of choice, he's the only one Jill could call on to help her.
I hope I have kept in character will Jill. Sometimes it can be hard.
