A Double Twisted Nightmare Chapter 21
December 25th 1999 9:00am
"Merry Christmas, Austin!" Chris said to his son. He was wearing his Christmas sweater and was showing his son the Christmas tree.
The six of them were in the living room area of their living quarters. "Want to open a present, Ashlyn?" Claire asked her daughter, holding a small present in her hand.
Ashlyn was currently in Albert's arms and she stares at the brightly covered present. Claire opens it, revealing a new onesie for her.
"You'll look so cute is this." Claire said, gently rubbing it on Ashlyn's cheek. Ashlyn giggles at the sensation.
"There are still quite a few presents, Dearheart." Albert said, taking note of the stash under the tree.
"I know, but it's her and Austin's first Christmas. A little more presents then usual is fine." Claire said. She was wearing her Christmas sweater and reaching for another one of Ashlyn's presents.
"I suppose, a little spoiling would be fine." Alex said, grabbing one of Austin's presents.
Chris brings their son over to her and she opens the present. It was an Sesame Street toy, Elmo. Austin stares at it, then tries to hit it with his arm.
"I still don't understand how children can find amusement in something like this." Alex said, watching Austin struggle in Chris's arms to get the toy.
"It's a child's mind. In their minds, this is something fun." Chris said, keeping a firm hold on their squirming son.
"Well, let's get the presents open. We have other activities today." Albert said.
They get all the presents opened and then they head to the kitchens to bake. When that was done, they watch some last minute Christmas movies.
Then, once the children were put to bed, they head to a bedroom. It has a huge room with a huge bed and they all..
April 30th, 2000
Leon has just returned from a mission in Italy. His team had infiltrated an Umbrella facility, however there was little to no evidence about what they've been doing. The only thing they have was video recordings of them fighting B. O. W's
'It's not much. The defense lawyers will just say someone else did it.' Leon was getting frustrated about how Umbrella was delaying the court proceedings. He is at a forest park, waiting for Jill to show up.
'Enough about that.' Leon then thinks about Ada. He ran into her as he was in the facility.
'There had to be something there of value.' Leon remembers Ada's actions.
He and his team had arrived at the main part of the facility, they had gone through a horde of zombies and other monsters to arrive here.
When they get inside, they see someone by the computer. "Freeze!" one of them said.
Raising their hands, the person turns to face them and Leon recognizes her. "Guns down." he orders the others, as he lowers his gun.
"But-" one tries to protest but Leon silences him with a look. They lower their weapons and he turns back to Ada. "Why are you here?" he asks.
"Lose the audience, then I'll answer your questions." Ada said, hands still up.
"Everybody, out!" Leon orders them.
"Sir, I must object. We can't leave-" a man tries to speak but Leon turns to him, giving him a chilling glare.
"I'll talk to her. I'll be fine." Leon states sternly. One by one, they all leave the room.
When the last one left, he looks at Ada again, "Their gone. Why are you here, Ada?" he asks once more.
"My own business, just going over left over files that were left here." she answered in a nonchalant tone.
Leon knows there's more to it. "You told me to send my team away, why are you here?" he asks for a third time.
"Sorry, Leon. You can't be privy to that, but I do want to tell you something. It's about Claire and Chris." Ada said.
"What?" Leon asked.
"You need to give up on them. You and Jill. They're a lost cause." she tells him.
"Excuse me? How dare you tell me what to do, after what you did back at Raccoon City?" Leon asked, furious. He was still hurt that she used him.
Ada flinches, "Look, if you and Jill keep going after them, you'll find them but neither of you will like what you find." she said in warning.
"That will be for me and Jill to decide... You know where they are, don't you? Tell me!" Leon demands, going up to her.
"You don't need to be rude. Sorry, but I won't tell you anything else. You'll break." she said, calmly as he gets close to her.
"I'm willing to forgo arresting you and will allow you to escape, if you tell me where they are." Leon said, standing in front of her.
"I'm sorry, Leon.." Ada says, as she reaches for her earring, "but I really can't say anymore."
She flings down her earring, it detaches from the dangle, and an explosion happens. Leon is knocked off his feet and his teammates rush in at hearing the noise.
"Kennedy! You ok?!" one gets down to where he was sitting.
"Yeah. She didn't hurt me, but she did take me off guard." Leon said.
"She's gone!" a man said. Leon looks around and sees he was right, Ada had made tracks.
He gets up, "Check over the computer." he orders. They couldn't find anything, the computers had been wiped clean. They then move on from the room.
Everything went well, up until the end of the mission. A parade of monsters got the drop on them and most of the team was wiped out. Only he and two others escaped from there alive.
It was mainly due to Leon as to why they were still alive, he then made the two promise that they won't say anything about seeing Ada at the facility.
Leon comes out of his memories. 'Now I know Ada is a lead, as to how Jill and I can find the Redfield siblings. The catch now, is to find her.'
He then sees Jill walking up to him, "Hey!" he waves at her and she sits down at the table he is at. He and Jill were meeting up to see Sherry today, but first he had to tell her what he knew.
"Hey, Leon. How have you've been?" she asks. They exchange pleasantries.
"Jill, listen." Leon then tells her what he found out on his last mission.
Jill is silent. "So.. One of us finds Ada and gets her to talk about where Chris and Claire are being held." she said.
"Yeah, but that's easier said than done. She's off radar on any database aside from the criminal ones. While she's Chinese, there's been no proof that she grew up in China itself. She's a ghost like the Wesker siblings." Leon said, darkly at the last part.
"Sooner or later, we'll run into her. Then we have to get her to talk." Jill said, determinedly.
"Sounds, good. By the way, where are your packages?" Leon asks. He has some in another seat.
"In my rental. Come on. Sherry's waiting." Jill said. She and Leon, who grabs the boxes, head to her car. Once the packages were in place, they hop in and drive to Simmons house.
"Say, Jill. How's that group of people your working with?" Leon asks.
"It's a little slower then I would like it to be, but were getting somewhere. I have to say, that in two, maybe three years time, we can set up. Until then, we're just a mercenary group, hired to take care of B. O. W.'s." she said.
They arrive at Simmons house in ten minutes. Grabbing the presents out of the car, they head up to the door. A servant open it, "Welcome, agent Kennedy. Miss Valentine. Miss Sherry is in the living room." he tells them. Jill hands the servant something, telling him to put it in the fridge.
They head into the living room, "Leon! Jill!" Sherry said happily.
"Hello, Sherry. Happy Late Birthday!" Jill said. She and Leon set the presents on the coffee table.
"Happy Late Birthday, Sherry." Leon said as she came over to hug him.
Sherry had been born on March 25th, unfortunately, both Jill and Leon had missions going on, lasting through out April. Today was a day they both had off, so they made sure they had gotten her presents. She was now fourteen years old and was still wearing the jacket that Claire gave her.
Sherry was now hugging Jill, "Thank you for remembering my birthday." she said. She lets Jill go.
"Of course, Sherry. Even if it took six months, we would celebrate your birthday." Jill said. She and Leon sit on the couch and watch Sherry open her presents.
"She's right Sherry." Leon said. She pulls out an attractive shirt that Jill got her. Sherry plasters it against herself and smiles.
Once all the presents were opened, she goes up to both of them and hugs them. "Thank you so much!" she said.
They hug her back and she lets them go. "Sherry, I picked us up a cake. Let's go eat it." Jill said.
They all head to the dining room, they have another servant bring out the cake, sing Happy Birthday and they eat it.
As they were eating, Sherry asks, "Has there been any news about Claire or Chris?"
"Sadly no, but we may have a lead as to who knows where they are. Unfortunately, we have to find that person first." Leon said.
"I see.." Sherry trails off, fiddling with the jacket.
"What's wrong?" Jill asks.
".. Mr. Simmons says I shouldn't have high hopes of seeing Claire again." she said.
"What?!" both Leon and Jill ask, furious.
"He said, given how long Claire was last seen, that there was a chance she was.. dead." Sherry says the last part quietly.
"No." Jill starts, "I don't believe that Claire or Chris are dead. Simmons doesn't understand the situation or knows the Redfield's. I wouldn't trust anything he says about it."
"I agree, Sherry. We know the people who have them. They were the ones who told us, that they were alive. So we know, that the siblings are being held prisoner. We just don't know where or why, yet." Leon said.
"I remember you telling me that... All right. I won't believe Simmons' words about them anymore." Sherry said. They could see that she was reassured to hear that the Redfield siblings were alive.
"Though.. You never told me, who has them." Sherry said.
Both are silent.
".. Sorry, Sherry, but we can't tell you that. One of the main reasons is that, they are, why your in government custody." Leon said.
"The g-virus." Sherry said, unhappily.
"Yes." Jill confirms. 'Another main reason is that one of them is your godfather.. Though somethings off.' Jill thinks about what Sherry told her.
"Sherry, have you've been doing what I've taught you?" Jill asks, coming out of her thoughts.
"Yes, I've been practicing lockpicking." Sherry said. Jill had snuck in some lockpicking stuff for her and she has hidden them in her bedroom.
They enjoy themselves for a couple of hours, then it was time to go, sadly.
Sherry walks the two, to the door, "Thank you both again. Please drop by again, whenever you can." she said.
They open the door and turn to her, "We will Sherry. Just.. try to be patient with us." Leon said.
"I will." Sherry said. Their visits together and her wanting to see Claire again are the only lights in her life.
They share a group hug, before Jill and Leon leave for her car. They get in and drive away from the house.
"Leon.." Jill says.
"Yeah?" Leon asks.
"Somethings wrong. Why did Simmons say that to Sherry?" Jill said.
"What do you mean?" he asks.
"Sherry has been in custody since she was twelve, however she's considered government property. Simmons has her cooped up in his house, she doesn't have friends her age, for sadly she is being homeschooled. She is completely isolated from the outside world. It's enough to break a grown adult, yet she remains sane because we're visiting her when ever we get the chance and her hope is to see Claire again. Simmons knows that she needs to remain healthy mentally; if they want the blood samples, you are working for them for her sake, and he should know how much Claire means to her by now. So why did he say 'Claire might be dead' to her?" Jill points out.
Leon pauses, thinking over what she said. "Your right. Simmons seems to have made an error on that. He can't have her break. That in turn will effect the deal I made with the government." Leon said.
"Right... I hate to say it, but thinking it over, I think Simmons knows something." Jill said.
Leon becomes uneasy at her words. "You sure? He is the National Security Advisor for the US government." he said.
"Yes, but you know as well as I, that the government's hands aren't clean. It has it's dark moments and we both know, that they were, and probably still are, involved in bio warfare projects." Jill said.
'She's right. Simmons is like everyone else. He can fall into the power trap, like any other human.' Leon accepts that Simmons is not what he portrays himself to the people. He had known that already, to an extent.
".. There's nothing we can do. He holds a high rank in government, his family's lineage can be traced as old as the civil war, and people everywhere know of him and the charitable work he does." Leon said, unhappily.
"Sadly, your right. He's too big of a target to go after right now and with no proof, we'd be labeled as traitors." Jill said, not happy.
".. We can't tell Sherry, either." Leon said, upset.
"No, we can't. She might accidently say something to him and tip him off. With her, being in his house hold, he has power over us." Jill said, clenching the wheel and just as upset.
Jill drops off Leon at his apartment and heads to her hotel.

"Happy First Birthday, Ashlyn!" Claire said to her daughter, who was now a one year old.
"Yes Happy Birthday, Ashlyn." Albert said. Ashlyn was being held by Claire in a cute party dress.
Albert grabs one of the presents and opens it, revealing a new outfit. He gently rubs it on her cheek and she giggles.
"Sounds like she likes it." Chris said. He and Alex were siting on the couch with their son Austin. Chris was holding a video camera to record Ashlyn's birthday.
"Yes, she does. Let's open the rest of them. I want to see her eat her cake." Claire said.
When all the gifts were opened they brought the cake out. Ashlyn, who was in her high chair, stared at it and then smacked it, making a mess on herself and her chair.
Claire giggles at her actions, "Of course, you don't think your suppose to eat it." she said.
"She'll need a bath later." Alex said, watching her niece in amusement as she plays with the cake. She was holding her son.
"Will be taken care of soon." Albert said, watching his daughter enjoy the cake.
The party went well and they all enjoyed themselves.
October 15th, 1999 Unknown location
Sergei was meeting with Spencer this day, for the spy he sent to the island, where the Wesker siblings and their pets were hiding, had finally contacted him about highly sensitive information that he had found.
When he read it, he quickly contacted Spencer and they arranged a meeting. These past two years have not been kind to Spencer, he has been in a wheel chair this past year.
Now, Spencer was reading over the papers with an undefinable expression.
Then he broke into a twisted smile.
"So my children now have children of their own. It seems being with those two have paid off." Spencer said, going into a deep thought.
After a moment, he looks at his friend, "Sergei, I want you to bring my son-in-law and daughter-in-law, as well as my grandchildren, to me. I don't care how much it costs." Spencer orders him.
Sergei bows his head to him, "I understand, my lord." he said.
When he looks up, he watches in surprise as Spencer raises out of his wheelchair, his two butlers come to help him, but he waves them off. When he is in a standing position, he motions one of the butlers to give him, his cane.
As he grips it, he looks back at Sergei. "Come here." he orders him.
Sergei did as ordered, coming to stand in front of Spencer. "Sergei, I don't care what your rivalry with Albert was or what feelings you've had for Alex. They aren't relevant in this situation. When you capture the four, they are to brought to me unharmed." he said.
He then places his cane on Sergei's shoulder and presses it, "If I see even one scratch on any of them, I will make sure that the pain inflicted on you will be doubled as to what they've felt." he tells him in warning.
Sergei was silent.
"Rest assure, my lord, no harm will come to them." he promises Spencer.
"Good. Now get a plan ready. I want them here no later than December." Spencer orders. He sits back in his chair.
"Yes, my lord." Sergei said. Spencer then dismisses him and he leaves to make arrangements for an attack on the island.
Sergei was thinking over on what Spencer said to him. He never threatened him before and for some reason, he clearly still thinks highly of the Wesker siblings, even though they had betrayed him.
That was the only reason why he thinks Spencer threated him about the Redfield's and their children they had with Albert and Alex.
'It doesn't matter. I'll make sure that they are unharmed.' while he was curious as to why Spencer still considered the Wesker siblings valuable, he knew better than to question him about it.
'The spy needs to give us blueprints of the island. On our end, we'll have to give up a facility to get the Wesker's off the island to distract them.' Sergei thinks over what needs to be done.
Past
Albert grinned as he and Alex watch Hiro and Felicia get lectured by Mr. Spencer. There had been something in Mr. Spencer's tea that did not agree with him and one of his prized artworks had been defaced.
Hiro liked playing with chemicals that were introduced to him in their classes, so he had been messing with them outside the classroom.
Felicia, in her spare time liked to paint. She was quite talented in it and had a number of colors.
Both tried protesting to Mr. Spencer, that they we're innocent of the transgressions, but evidence was against them. Some one had seen Hiro near the kitchens while tea was being made and someone saw Felica leave the art gallery with paint on her hands as well as her tools.
Spencer was now yelling at them in front of all of them, to let them all know, he won't tolerate such antics and that they'll get punished.
"You both are to clean this house with tooth brushes! Top to bottom! And, you are to sleep on the floor in the main hall until its done! Get them out of my sight!" Spencer then orders his servants to take them away for punishment.
Two servants grab them and start to drag them away, Hiro and Felicia then look over to Albert and Alex with anger. "You'll pay for this!" both shout as they are taken out of sight.
Spencer then addressed the rest of them, "You've heard what I had to say about mischief. None of you will be spared punishment. You are to focus yourselves on being the future of Umbrella and the world."
"Yes, sir." they all say.
"Good, get yourselves ready for afternoon classes." Mr. Spencer said, dismissing them.
They all went about their business, Albert and Alex meet outside the classroom before it starts.
"I knew it would work Albert." Alex said, happily.
"Yes, but we have to be careful." Albert reminds her of Hiro and Felicia's threat.
In truth, neither Hiro nor Felicia did those things. It had been Albert and Alex who did it. They had worn disguises to make the servants think it was Hiro and Felicia. They had also studied their hobbies to make sure that there would be no doubt that they did it.
"True. We'll have to watch ourselves." Alex said.
She and Albert were happy though that they had finally got back at them after a year being here.
"Let's get to class. Or we'll get yelled at ourselves." Albert said and they head inside for their lessons.
November 7th, 2000 Unknown Island
Albert awakens with a start, 'Another dream..' he realizes as he looks around his and Claire's room. Claire shifts beside him, "Stay asleep Dearheart." he whispers to her. Claire seems to settle and continues to sleep.
Albert gets up and puts on his clothes, before leaving the room and finds Alex in the hall. She seems to have been waiting for him.
She gives him a look and they head to the lab for privacy. "Albert.. Did you have another dream?" she asks once the doors were shut and locked.
"Yes, it was about the time we enacted our plan to get back at Hiro and Felicia, for being the bullies that they were." Albert said.
"I had that dream too." Alex said.
This has been going on for the past year, the two of them would have dreams of their childhood spent at the Spencer Estate.
"I wish the documents about project W, had been better kept. We can only assume that's why we're having these dreams." Albert said.
"Yes, to think it happened after Austin's birthday yesterday." Alex said, remembering that her son turned one.
They are both startled when they hear a knock on the door. "Now is not a good time." Albert calls out to whoever is knocking.
"Then make time." a voice said. It was Chris.
Both were surprised again and Alex unlocks the door. Chris and Claire come in, they were dressed for the day.
"I thought you were asleep." Albert said, realizing that Claire had actually been awake in their room.
"You thought wrong. What's going on with you two?" Claire asks them.
"What are you talking about?" Alex asks.
"We've known you two long enough, that we can tell something is off. What are you hiding?" Chris asks.
Both Wesker siblings are silent.
".. At this point, we rather not say. For we are unsure." Alex said.
Chris and Claire expressions tell them, that they are not satisfied.
"Alex is right. We are trying to figure it out. Once we know more, we'll tell you." Albert said.
"We still would like to know." Chris said. He and Claire were determined to find out what their lovers were hiding. Ashlyn and Austin were still sleeping in their rooms with Stuart watching.
Silence.
".. If we can't find any other explanation soon, then we'll tell you what it is, by the time the new year has come." Alex said. Albert nods.
Chris and Claire were still not satisfied but their lovers gave their word, that they will know soon. They go up to them and kiss their respective spouse. Before turning to their other lover and doing the same.
Once the make out session is over, breathing heavily, Claire said, "We'll hold you to your word. We are married after all."
"She's right, by new year's. No later." Chris said, panting.
"We will. Now that your here, we do have something to tell you." Albert said.
"Yes, me and Albert will be leaving by the fourteenth to look over an Umbrella facility. What our spies tell us, is that there is something promising there." Alex said.
"Where is it?" Chris asks curiously.
"In Canada. It's in the western part." Albert said.
They all go about their day.
In eight days, while Albert and Alex are away, the island gets attacked.
Oh, dear. What happens next?
Would like some feedback.
