Chapter 65: Tower Fall
The alarms were blazing as Bunnie, Bernadette, Fiona, and Silver were in combat gear to prepare to protect the hideout. "Gee, this is nuts. What do you have left doctor?" Bunnie asked.
"All I need is to transfer the data of my machine. It's going to take a while, about 30 minutes," Dr. Kintobor said as Fiona groaned at this.
"We will buy you time. Belle activates the defenses," Bunnie said as the wooden robot nods her head.
"Got it, all Egg Pawns go into defensive mode. Defend this area until we escape in the transport," Belle said as on the comm link for the Egg Pawns aid the defenders while Dr. Kintobor is in the hangar looking at his datapad to see the transfer data coming into the transport's database. "Is the transport ready to go, sir?" Belle asked.
"Yes, this special stealth transport is ready to go and it will allow us to slip through their army via a cloaking device," Dr. Kintobor said as the base area has extra defenses like turrets and missile launchers to target the incoming airships. The projectiles crash into their shields and some break apart while taking damage.
"I hope Sonic and Mina can back in time," Fiona said as they ran out into the caverns with the shield doors getting destroyed.
"They go fast, they will be here shortly," Bernie wielding her holo ring wrist blades to see hordes of Swat Bots, Assault Walkers, Hover Units, and Assault Drones to engage Silver, Bernadette, Fiona, and Bunnie guarding the cavern.
"Split up and spread them out," Bernadette said as she used her speed to avoid incoming laser bolts. She uses her Spin Dash to slam into an Assault Walker. She goes slicing up Swat Bots with her energy wrist blades. She kicks down a large humanoid bot while cutting the robot in half.
She leaps on top of a Swat Bot to slice its head off and slips off its back to let it take a barrage of laser bolts. She lifts a piece of metal and kicks it into the chest of an Assault Walker to pierce its leg to cripple it. She uses her Shield Dash to slam into the walker to knock it across the cavern and crash into a wall.
One of the Assault Walkers fires a net to catch Bernie to begin shocking her. "Shit," Bernie curls into a ball to slice up the net to free herself. She uses a Spin Dash towards the walker to go into a slide to go under the robot to slice up its legs to make it fall onto the ground unable to move. She leaps on top of the broken walker to leap on top of the Assault Drones.
She twists them with her legs to toss them to impale Swat Bots and Hover Units knocking them down. Bernie runs up the rocky walls to avoid incoming missiles and energy bolts. She curls into a ball, launches off the wall, and smashes into a walker.
She sees the Egg Pawns taking up a defensive position within the huge cavern with the two robot forces engaging in a large-scale battle. Laser bolts and explosions rocked all over the cavern. An Egg Pawn wielding a rocket launcher to fire into an Assault Walker to blow it to pieces.
"Some backup," Fiona said as several drones were firing laser bolts at her. She catches them in her arms to power up her shockwave to blow them away while slamming her robot fist onto the ground to unleash another shockwave to destroy a grouping of Swat Bots.
She fires her pistol to shoot off the heads and limbs of Swat Bots. She tosses EMP grenades to disable a big group of machines with her shooting drones and Swat Bots taking them down.
Fiona Fox grabs an Egg Pawn shield to deflect several shots and tosses it like a disc to knock a Drone out of the air to crash onto the ground. She gets up a wall to avoid the tackle of an Assault Walker. She powers up her arms and slams them into the mech to unleash a pulse of energy to knock the machine.
She fires several shots from her pistol to knock down drones as she gets her pistol knocked out of her hands by an explosion to launches her into the air. She regains her balance and uses her steel boots to kick down a nearby Swat Bot. She launches a bolt of energy to destroy an Assault Walker to see her arms have no more storage energy left to use.
"Hey Foxy, hanging in there?" Bunnie asked on the radio to fly around the area with her rocket feet to use her arm cannon and super strength to bash and blow up robots.
"Yeah, I am good. Just a bit winded," Fiona said as Bunnie tackled through a horde of machines to smash them to pieces. She switches from her arm cannon into a super-heated metal blade to start slicing up incoming Swat Bots, Drones, and Walkers leaving a path of destruction behind her. Bunnie kicks a Walker and sends it flying into a wall bursting apart on contact.
"Nothing beats cracking up robot booty," Bunnie lashes out her metal blade to release energy crescents to slice up Hover Units and Drones reducing them to scrap. She got shot in the metal arm which made her flinch as she flew in and tore through groups of enemies with her metal blade.
Bunnie grabs a boulder with her metal arm and tosses it into a crowd of machines for them to be flattened into metal pancakes. She kicks the boulder and breaks it into pieces while she kicks them at the incoming walkers smashing them to pieces.
She rushes in, punches a mech walker, and uses her robotic arm to grab hold and use it to bash other robots with vicious force. She then tosses it across the cave and takes down groupings of enemies. Bunnie sees missiles hit the ceiling to fall towards her but Silver holds them up using his psychic powers.
"Yo I got you, Bunnie," Silver said as he tosses all the fallen rocks to crush the incoming machines.
"Thanks, sweetheart. Take the ones over there," she said as Silver powered up with a green energy aura around him.
"With pleasure," Silver goes on the warpath with him picking up rocks with his psychokinesis and lobbing them at high speeds to pick off the Swat Bots and drones. A barrage of missiles and lasers heads for Silver for he gathers all the rocks to make them spin around him to act like a shield blocking the deadly projectiles and leaving him unharmed.
Silver tosses them at the enemy machines to smash them under their weight. He catches several missiles with his mind and lobs them into the walkers blowing them to pieces He traps Drones with his psychic grip and tosses them like darts to impale enemy robots.
"Psycho Cutter," Silver surges with psychic energy and swings his hand forward to release a crescent of green energy to slice several robots in half. Over a hundred Swat Bots rush at him with their arm cannons firing at him. He teleports away from the laser bolts and explosions.
He powers up one of his best moves. "Psycho Smash," Silver unleashes a powerful surge of energy to blow away a hundred Swat Bots to smash them into a wall crashing on impact. Uses his power to leap into the air to head for a group of machines to charge up his hand.
"Psychic Shock," he lands in the middle of the horde to unleash pulses of psychic energy to stun all the machines around. He catches them with his mind and flings them in all directions. He focuses on the rocky ceiling to force down lots of stalagmites to make them drop onto squads of robots destroying them.
"Gee, they just keep coming," Bernie said as she sliced open a Swat Bot but the Egg Pawns were getting reduced in numbers while Miles' forces came pouring into the cavern.
"This is nuts, where are those two?" Fiona asked.
"Guys, we are coming in. How are you holding up?" Sonic asked the two.
"About time Blue, these machines are pouring in. Fight them outside while we hold here," Fiona said as she blasted a drone out of the air with her pistol.
"Okay, we are going to find the leader and buy you some time," Mina said as Silver, Bernadette, Fiona, and Bunnie see a crap ton of machines heading their way.
"Good, what is the time until you can download what you need," Bunnie asked on the radio with Dr. Kintobor looking at the status on his datapad.
"About 50% complete, keep it up guys," Anti Eggman said as Belle is worried that the Egg Pawns are getting cut down.
"Poor guys, they are giving it their all," Belle said as she sympathy with the Egg Pawns who have taken care of this place for more than 2 decades of service.
"They are loyal machines and they will suffer becoming scrap to protect us who want to make a difference," Dr. Kintobor said as everyone is holding the line.
Outside Sonic and Mina arrive to see airships destroying sections of the mountains which is protecting everyone from the shelling. "Time to turn up the heat," Sonic said as they both transformed to begin drawing attraction to destroying groups of enemies and striking down airships.
"Void," Mina focuses and launches black holes to slam into ships allowing them to be sucked up until there is nothing left behind. "Quake," she slams onto the ground to unleash waves of stone spears to cut down Swat Bots and other machines.
"Firestorm," Sonic whips up waves of flames to burn squads of robots into melted piles of metal. "Aqua Laser," Sonic gathers water and fires a high-pressure beam of water to tear through groups of enemies.
Sonic curls into a ball to smash into groups of robots as Mina lifts hordes of robots with Hover. He uses Homing Attack chains to wipe them out with him bouncing on an Assault Walker. "Laser Drill," Mina flings herself into hordes of enemies to slam into a Hover Unit.
Sonic tears up robots with his Diamond Dash to kick a walker into a Hover Unit. "Sonic Wind," Sonic runs around at high speed to summon a twister to gather up tons of machines. Mina lobs bolts of lightning to mix with the twister to destroy everything inside.
"Gee, so many robots," Mina said as they seemed endless with stone spears flying toward them.
"Crap, Anti-Cream," Sonic said as they prepare for a big fight. The tall rabbit woman appears for she looks like a striking image of her mother Vanilla.
"So, you both have come here. Perfect, my beloved master will award me greatly for killing you both," Cream said as she powered up with her Quake power and unleashed waves of stone shards. Sonic blocks this with his Earth shield to increase his protection against Cream's attacks.
Mina powers up to use her Quake Color power to increase her resistance to Cream's attacks for them to clash.
"Your mother would be ashamed to see you like this?" Mina kicks Cream to knock her into an Assault Walker. Sonic tosses a crescent of wind at the rabbit woman but she leaps away for the robot to get chopped in half.
Cream makes stone walls with Mina and Sonic breaking through them with ease. "My mother has been dead for years; I have no clue what she would say about this but I am proud to work with my lover Miles to maintain the status quo in this world. Everyone loves his rule since they can do whatever they want as long as they don't get in his way," Cream said as she created a shell of rock to protect their pursuit.
Cream explodes the stone dome to knock them back as she kicks Mina using her Quake power to increase her striking power via the density of her muscles. Mina falls and Cream drops her feet onto her stomach to make her spit blood.
"Oh, that smarts," Mina said as she let out an electric blast to send Cream backward. Sonic uses his Light Speed Attack to slam into Cream but she manages to grab him while making her feet heavy stones to anchor herself. She punches him away as she lobs waves of stone shards to hit Sonic's earth shield to set off a series of rocky explosions.
Sonic's shield holds up but is greatly weakened with him. "Enough of this," Cream dons her stone armor and stomps onto the ground to unleash waves of stone spikes. They avoid her attacks but Sonic gets hit by an earth wall to launch him into the air.
She made the wall explode like a grenade to knock Mina away as she launched toward Mina to smash her into the chest to knock her into the mountain wall causing a crater on impact. "Laser," Mina is bashing into Cream's stone armor at the speed of light to weaken it with each passing. She slams into the rock head to knock Cream out of her stone armor and kicks Cream in the head to knock her into the dirt.
Sonic uses lots of wind crescents to cut into Cream's body to further damage her. "Cut this out, retreat, or get smack around more," Sonic said as they were both ready for more.
"I am not done yet," Cream powers up with a grey aura to become engulfed in grey energy covering up her whole body and getting into her Earth Elemental State. "Die," she pounds the ground to crack open sections of the ground as she hits Sonic with a rock chuck. The explosion breaks his shield and knocks him into a fissure.
"Sonic, Rhythm," Mina unleashes a wave of sound from her muzzle to blow Cream away and hurt her eardrums. Sonic uses his Diamond Rush to drill through the rock and slam into Cream with Mina kicking her in the chest to knock her into a tree. Mina lets out another wave of noise to blast Cream away again.
Sonic and Mina launch themselves at Cream which summons walls of thick stone walls to protect herself. Mina turns into a drill to bore through the walls with Sonic coming in to hit her with a Homing Attack to knock her onto the dirt.
Cream still is going strong without much damage with her Earth Elemental form active. "Impressive but I have a lot of gas to go before I fall before you," Cream said as the three noticed a lot of the robots were being destroyed.
"Cream, long time no see. Why are you fighting Sonic?" Anti-Amy asked as she was wielding her hammer to be in her Rose Form.
"Rosy!" Cream looks on with real fear in her eyes to back away slowly. "Why are you here?" Cream asked.
"You know Cream I have a good Sonic sense and it's always right. So, I have to ask again, why are you fighting Sonic?" Anti-Amy asked as Cream backed away. "I want to fight him and dominate him. Then he will have my babies and you are getting in the way of that," Rosy smashes her hammer into Cream to knock her away. "Wait here my love, I need to deal with the rabbit bitch first," Anti-Amy flies after Cream for Mina and Sonic to fly back into the cavern to meet up with the others.
"Perfect, that psycho can keep them busy," Mina said as they went into the cavern to see Bernadette, Silver, Fiona, and Bunnie finishing off the rest of the machines.
"Good timing, what is going on out there?" Bunnie asked.
"Oh, we were fighting Cream in her elemental form but Anti-Amy shows up and knocks her away. She should be keeping them distracting while we make our escape," Sonic said.
"Perfect time for that crazy bitch to show up," Fiona said as Bernie calls on the radio.
"Doctor, are we ready to go?" Bernie asked as Kintobor saw his datapad shows 100% for the data transfer is complete.
"Of course, my plans have been downloaded into the ship's server and the Anarchy Beryl gems are secured. All your stuff is here as well. Let's get out of here," the doctor said as everyone rushed back to the tower's hangar to see Belle and Dr. Kintobor.
"Come on guys," Belle said as they went into the stealth ship for the hanger doors began to open which led through a secret exit just in case this happened.
"Time to blast out of here," Dr. Kintobor said as they flew through the tight hallways until they flew into the sky for they became cloaked being undetected by the army's sensors. "Well time to bury this part of my life," Dr. Kintobor looks on with sadness to push a button to trigger the tower's self-destruction.
Meanwhile Rosy and Cream are fighting each other with Anti-Amy punishing Cream by bashing her into a mountain to make a crater. "Damn it, Rosy. I had those two and you ruined it," Cream said as she kicked Rosy but it did little damage.
"That's a big mistake dumbass, only I can touch Sonic," Rosy bashes Cream to knock her into a tree with enough force to break it in half. Rosy looks over at the mountain to hear huge explosions with the whole mountain range getting destroyed with Cream and Rosy getting sent flying into the sky.
Cream's whole army has been destroyed by the massive blast with Cream and Rosy surviving the explosion due to their unique powers. Both of the women crash onto the dirt for Cream is disappointed with the results of the operation.
"The good doctor destroyed his lab. Pretty bold move," Cream said as Rosy goes towards Cream but she entombs her in tons of stone. Cream flies away to see the mission is a failure. "Oh love, I failed. They escaped, the lab was destroyed and Rosy got in the way," she said on the radio to Miles.
"They are on the run. Without his resources, he will be less of a threat," Miles said as Cream flies away to see the area is wreaked beyond belief.
Anti-Amy breaks out of Cream's rock tomb which is pretty upset with all this. "Gee, Cream is going to pay for this. I need to drink something sweet to calm me down. I will see you later my love," Rosey flies off to search for Sonic another day.
Elsewhere everyone is in the stealth transport with Belle checking to see if everyone is okay. "Good, everyone is okay," Belle said as she used her scanners to see everyone had some bruises and cuts but could be easily healed in no time.
"One hell of a rush," Fiona said.
"Indeed, that explosion took out a huge chunk of machines," Mina said.
"But they can make more, much more. Miles' army seems endless and it's best not to fight them for too long," Bernie said.
"Indeed, but we have all the data for my machine and the materials I need to make it. Knuckles, we are having over to Demon Island with my cloaked ship," Doctor said on the radio.
"We will be waiting for you, it's an honor to have you here. Knuckles out," Anti Knuckles said on the radio to cut it off.
"Demon Island, it's an underwater island covered in an energy shield. It would be a good change in location and safer being deep underwater far away from Miles' robotic army," Mina said.
"Well, next stop Demon Island with living echidnas on it," Sonic said as he was thinking about his best friend Knuckles wondering what he would think about this. They fly off into the distance to head for the echidnas' home in Anti-Mobius Demon Island.
