The Babysitters

Team 10's Adventure With Ryūsei

Ryūsei sat in the mission hall with the Hokage as he waited for the genin team that was taking care of him, he honestly didn't really think he needed them, but his Kā-chan said that the Uzumaki needed to have good relationships with the village, so he had to deal with them, for the next month. Normally, Ryūsei wouldn't mind, these people tended to be a few years older than his mother so it wasn't really weird or anything, but his mama did graduate this year so there was a chance that he would be stuck with 12-year-olds that weren't even that mature like Raiura.

The door began to open, and he was brought out of his thoughts, his attention being drawn to the door. He was hoping for that team with weird sensei and his clone, they were so nice, especially the girl, super sweet. His hopes fell as a man with a cigar in his mouth walked in with three genin. Ryūsei had heard of this people, actually meeting one of them. Shikamaru, was lazy but he would play shogi with him whenever he came over.

'I think those other two are Ino and Choji...' thought Ryūsei, 'I don't know who that jōnin is though...'

"Aahh... Asuma-kun... have you brought your team for a mission today?" asked the Sandaime.

The jōnin, the now name Asuma spoke, "Hai Tō-san... I would like a D-rank that we could start off with today..."

"Actually, Asuma, if you don't mind... I would like your team to take an in-village mission for a few days..." requested the Hokage. Ryūsei banged his head on the desk and groaned.

Asuma looked thoughtful for a moment, then looked to his team, "Would you guys like to do it?"

"Sure..." Choji munched on another chip.

"Troublesome but alright..." agreed Shikamaru.

"Okay sensei..." agreed Ino.

Asuma looked back to his father, "We'll take it Tō-san..."

Hiruzen gestured to Ryūsei, "You'll be babysitting Uzumaki Ryūsei..."

Ryūsei hopped off his chair and walked over to the group, "Kon'nichiwa..."

"Kon'nichiwa..." they greeted back.

"Ryūsei can take you to his clan district..." the Sandaime said, then Team 10 followed the small, redheaded Uzumaki to his home.

As they walked through the village, the genin noticed how some of the villagers were giving him pity-filled looks while others were looking at him with disgust. When they got to one of the entrances to the compound, there were two blue tigers that looked like they were made of a blue fire. It was scary and cool at the same time, the tiger bowed to Ryūsei before moving out of the way to make room for them to enter.

Ino tapped Ryūsei on the shoulder, Ryūsei looked to her, "Who and what were they?" asked Ino as she pointed behind her.

Ryūsei looked back to the giant cats before back at her, "Tokoshi and Takashi... Kā-chan calls them Ao hi toras... they guard this entrance to the compound.

"Who guards the other?" asked Asuma.

"Kā-chan never got done with that entrance before leaving... but there are two lions that guard that entrance... Chisato and Chisora..." answered Ryūsei, "Anything else?"

"Just take us to your house and we'll settle in for the day..." Asuma said.

Ryūsei snorted, "You're not here for the whole day, you leave at 10 o'clock... the ANBU watch me..."

"But C-ranks go for at least a full day..." Ino said.

"Well, I don't want you people in my house," Ryūsei growled, then he pointed to Ino, "Especially you, your Inotsuki's sister so I bet your just like him..." his violet eyes went to Shikamaru, "Shika-nī is alright... he doesn't bully me and he certainly didn't attempt to bully my mother..." Ino looked down at that and kept her mouth shut.

Ryūsei looked like he wanted to say more but Shikamaru spoke up, "How about we hurry up to your home... we'll play shogi you troublesome Uzumaki..." Shikamaru began to quickly drag the kid inside the compound.

Team 10 was surprised that their normally lazy member was walking fast, really fast.

When they entered the house, they were shocked. It was grand – that was for sure – but this two story house looked like a mansion, it was probably because the cellings were so high. Ryūsei lead them to the first set of stairs and two a giant room, it had two couchs inside, a low coffee table, and a couch contected to the wind.

"This is the biggest room other then the master bedroom, that's Kā-chan bedroom and I'm right across the hall..." Ryūsei turned to them, "You can explore the house, just don't go down the basement stairs, Kā-chan's study is sown there and... well let's just say that it's very deadly and dangerous to people who try to get in without permission..."

Asuma nodded, "Thanks Ryūsei, we'll take note of that..."

Ryūsei was about to walk out when he remembered something, he turned back to them, "Also, there are some animals that come and go as they please through the house, they have their one separate door within the main door, they mostly come to get away from the sun and other things..."

"What animals are we talking about?" asked Choji.

Ryūsei looked up, "Well, there are... birds of all kinds, different types of cats big and small, wolves, foxes..." Ryūsei said as he counted off his finger, he looked back to them, "Other kinds of animals too... don't get to scared of the hybrids... Sayonara..." he popped back in, "Also I forgot, the couchs come out into convertible beds in case your tired..." the he was gone.

Shikamaru sat down on a couch down along with the rest of Team 10, "Man~ this is so troublesome..."

"Ryūsei... kinda..." Ino trailed off.

"He's a kid who doesn't even know who his father is and probably never will..." Shikamaru said.

Asuma left out a puff of smoke, "From what I heard from Kakashi... Raiura had been okay with having the child, even if she didn't want at that time she was still okay with it... although she was forced to go to theraphy with your father as a precaution..."

Ino made a sad face, "Oh... Sensei are we really leaving at 10?"

"No Ino..." Asuma shook his head, "We are here for a week... you three go and pack for a week..." The genin nodded before heading to their separate homes.

Ryūsei was sitting outside in the backyard, looking out at all greenery in the yard. Asuma came out and sat down next to the violet eyed child, he was surprised when the kid didn't even flinch as he silently waked over.

"I have good sensing abilities..." Ryūsei answered the unspoken question.

Asuma let out another puff of smoke, "You seem to not like Choji and Ino, especially Ino..."

Ryūsei looked to the Sarutobi, "Inotsuki is her younger brother..." Ryūsei held the diamond part on his necklace in his palm, the crack still evident, "He broke this, my Kā-chan gave it to me on my 5th birthday... apparently it belonged to her grandmother on her Tō-chan's side..."

Asuma raised an eyebrow, "Shisui's?"

"No... her birthfather..." clarified Ryūsei.

Asuma's eyes widened, "I see..."

"Anyways... he purposefully broke it, I know Kā-chan said to not blame his family, but his sister was mean to her too..." said Ryūsei.

Asuma placed a hand on Ryūsei crimson, maroon mixed hair, "I'm sorry kid... I was sort of bullied in the academy for being my father's child, but it got better for me..."

Ryūsei snorted, "I don't think it will ever go away..."

"How so?" Asuma asked, generally curious.

Ryūsei fidgeted, "It's personal and I think I have told you enough... I don't want to say anything else..."

Asuma chuckled, "That's fine..."

Ryūsei gave a foxlike grin and stood up, he walked to a part of the yard where there was three wooden dummies, he spent the rest of the time training before it was time to go inside since the genin had come back with their stuff and it was dinner time.

The next day Team 10 woke up at 8:00 in the morning to find out that Ryūsei was no where in sight or in the house. They searched every where, there were no signs of a struggle so they could rule out kidnapping, that meant he went on his own. They searched all the houses until the dense forest part of the compound, they didn't think that the young Uzumaki would go in there, it looked as if he could get lost very easily, well it was more like they were praying since they could get lost if they went in there.

When they finally realized that Ryūsei really must have gone into the forest, they had no choice but to spilt up and search, they were wondering why the ANBU weren't searching but couldn't linger on that as they had to find Ryūsei. Since they could get in trouble with the Hokage, and more importantly the cilent, Raiura.

"Is everyone ready?" asked Asuma. He made sure that his genin had two bottles of water, some food, and other nessesities in case they were in there for more than a day.

"Hai sensei..." they choursed, they knew that this wasn't the time to be joking around, this was a really mission and if they were out-of-village that could just wait for help to come. Asuma nodded, the genin jumped into the trees along with their sensei, each going in a different direction.

Shikamaru knew this was stupid but decided not to say anything. The kid had grown up here and probably did go into the forest, but he could easily come out, were as they could not. The Nara wished that he could just go back and wait for his sensei and teammates but then Asuma would probably know and yell at him.

He jumps down into a clearing in the trees to see a group of cougars, normally cougars don't group up like this and they are more common in grasslands, so this greatly confused him. The cougars all looked to him and growled.

'Oh shit, I'm screwed...' thought Shikamaru as he began to run in a different direction away from the giant cats that had sent a couple to chase after him

Ino walked through the forest after falling down from a branch she was in a very thick part of the forest, and she was hearing all these strange sounds. It was scary, she walked to a stream in the forest, she walks on the stones in the river and nearly fell in while crossing it.

'I wish I dragged Shikamaru and Choji with me...' thought Ino. She yelped when a spider came down and spider web and she began to walk fast.

It had been an hour since the team had entered the forest and Choji had found a path that went inside the forest. He decided to stay on this path as it was most likely that Ryūsei went down it. He wasn't eating any chips, to scared that something might come out and get him because he was eating.

"Wonder what Asuma-sensei would do?" Choji thought out aloud. He heard some rustling in a bush nearby and pulled a kunai out before throwing it, a gray-brown rabbit jumped out scared and hopped away.

Choji sighed, "Man, I'm getting too nervous... I'm going to go crazy..."

Asuma had jumped out of the trees and back to the starting point, he searched most of the forest that he was able to reach and go into, so he was sure that the kid wasn't in there. He sent out a chakra ping for his team to return. After 20 minutes or so, there was some rustling and Ino came out looking like a mess, she had twigs and leaves and othering things that can get in your hair from trees. A few minutes later Shikamaru came out in a different place with scratches but other wise alright. Choji walked up to them opposite of the trees.

Shikamaru looked at Choji, "Where did you come from?"

"I found a path and came from that..." answered Choji.

Ino twitched, "YOU MEAN THERE WAS A PATH WE COULD HAVE USED TO SEARCH FOR THE KID AND WE DIDN"T USE IT!"

"It would have don't no good to search from the path only, he's more likely to be in the forest than on that path..." Asuma said calmly.

"Ryūsei's in the forest again?" asked a masculine voice. Team 10 turned their heads in the direction of the voice to see a certain curly haired Uchiha.

"Shisui?" Asuma said.

"Raiura asked me to check up on the kid once a day just in case," Shisui chuckled, "Let me guess; he's in the forest and you guys went in and couldn't find him..."

"Exactly on point as always..." Asuma said, "How have you been Shisui?"

"I have been okay Asuma... you guys shouldn't worry about the kid, he goes into the forest when he wants to be alone... he'll been back before the end of the day..." Shisui smiled, "Shikamaru you knew this, how come you didn't tell?"

Shikamaru sighed, "Troublesome... Asuma-sensei wouldn't let me speak and got really worried because he would have to deal with the troublesome Hokage..."

Shisui gave a small glare to Asuma, "Asuma you have to listen to your students as much as they must listen to your orders..." Shisui looked back to the Nara, "Sometimes they can have the greatest insight..."

Ryūsei was sitting in a clearing in the forest with a silver haired adult that looked to be around his age was sitting with the child, he was using his chakra to make the water in his hand float as a sphere. The red head looked at the man in wonder and awe.

The man stopped using his chakra and the water splashed on to his hand, "Ryūsei... you should head back... you probably have your caretakers scared half to death and they might end up looking for you in this forest..."

"But Tōya-san," Ryūsei wined, "I don't like them..."

The man, now named Tōya raised an eyebrow, "Oh, and what's wrong with them?"

"I like Shika-nī, but he only knows how to play shogi but he's so lazy that that's all he does... Choji-san is alright but me and him have nothing in common... and don't get me started on Ino..." Ryūsei spat out Ino's name in disgust.

Tōya patted the violet eyed Uzumaki on the head, "Don't be like that Ryū-chan..." Ryūsei squacked at the nickname, "Just because one person is one way doesn't mean that the rest of their family is like that... take your Shisui-jiji... most Uchiha are stoic but he isn't... so don't judge Ino based of her brother..."

"I'm not only judging her based of her brother, I'm doing based on what my Kā-chan told me, I like her Tō-chan, he's nice and all, but I don't like her..." said Ryūsei.

Tōya sighed, "You should get going though... they must be worried about you by now, you've been here for over 3 hours..."

Ryūsei looked down, "I didn't mean to worry them... I just didn't want to deal with them all..."

Tōya lifted the boy's face up by the chin, "I know pup..." the silvered haired man whipped away some of Ryūsei's tears with his thumb, "But their going to be your comrades in the future..."

Ryūsei nodded, "Alright..." the redhead did something totally unexpected, he kissed Tōya on his pale lips.

The Hatake was stunned for a while before looking to the child, "Why'd you do that?"

Ryūsei blushed, "I know that I'm pretty young, but I do really like you... and I was told that when you really love someone, you kiss them on the lips..."

Tōya gave a kind smile, "You can do it to me whenever you want, but I love you like my little brother or son..."

Ryūsei looked down then back up with a watery smile, "Okay..." then he run off into the woods back to his home.

Tōya ghosted his fingers over his lips, 'First kiss... stolen by kid...' Tōya then realized something, he liked it and he felt disgusted with himself, he kissed a 6 year old and liked it, it wouldn't matter if he was 18, but it was basically demon law that you only kiss and love a human that is 16 to 18 years or above.

"I can't tell the other," he sighed, "Awe djis no ta mi dia," he muttered then disappeared into a white rimed portal, it looked as if sparks were coming of it as it becomes big enough for him to walk through it, the inside being squash, sandstone, and yam orange.
