Chapter 41: Attack on Kiten: Part 2 - Reunions, Sweet and Bitter
Name: Vivianne Voss
Age: 16
Birthday: 14 April
Personality: Feisty and blunt, Vivianne speaks her mind without hesitation, often challenging others to prove themselves. Loyal to her family and fiercely confident, she loves teasing her older brother Kian and never backs down from a challenge.
Strengths: Quick thinker, skilled at Tempest Magic, perceptive, loyal, competitive
Weaknesses: Dismissive of others' abilities, occasionally reckless, stubborn, easily annoyed by Kian's "wise older brother" advice
Favorite Things: Competing with her siblings, thunderstorms, exploring, pushing her combat limits, secretly enjoys Kian's stories
"You," Kivn snarled, his eyes locking on Lars.
The two stared each other down, sparks flying between them. Lars's grip on his naginata was as tight as a constrictor boa, as he remembered the events of the dungeon exploration; the topaz soldiers he had fought, how Kivn had defeated Kian and Kirsch so easily, how he had impaled Frida. His blood began to rush through his veins, and his mind energy to flow, as he readied himself.
"I won't make the same mistake again," Kivn said, his resolve clear, a deadly topaz sword appearing above his hand, vibrating with sound power.. "Topaz and Sound Combination Magic: Gli-"
Frida, who had seemingly appeared out of nowhere, kicked Kivn into a wall, the Diamond Kingdom General breaking through where it was into an alley. The topaz sword broke in the air and disintegrated into topaz dust. THe Diamond Kingdom soldiers were stunned into silence.
"You will fight me," Frida declared, "the Vice-Captain of the Silver Eagles, Frida Mertens! Lars, take your silly little friends and GET OUT OF HERE! Focus on the rescue effort!"
"No need to be such a bitch, Frida," Lars muttered, running in the opposite direction. Russell, Lilian, Oda and Theresa followed, but Ximena and Kirsch both stayed for two different reasons.
"As brilliant as you are, Frida," Kirsch said, flicking his hair, "there's no way you can fight the fodder and the big boss at the same time. Let me help you."
Frida smiled, a crazed glint in her eye. "Fine by me!" she declared. "Just don't get in the way of my grudge match!"
"I live for the thrill of battle!" Ximena yelled, fists swinging, eyes blazing. "I'll take down as many of you as I need to! I'll run a gauntlet with all of you!"
The earth mage raised her foot. "Earth Magic: Splintered Flintstone!"
She stomped onto the ground, and big, jagged, blunt spikes of earth suddenly appeared, knocking out soldier after soldier. Ximena made a crunching motion with her fist, and some spikes of the hardened earth broke apart and reformed around her fists.
"Earth Magic: Gaia's Armament!" she declared, and with a feral yell, rushed at the remaining Diamond Kingdom soldiers, eyes blazing, fists swinging.
Kivn, his pristine uniform dirtied and disgraced in front of his soldiers by this nobody, got up, his eyes blazing in fury. Frida hovered above her on her Glissando platform, looking down at Kivn with an equally furious expression. She formed her Hannibal's Blade, Kivn formed another glittering topaz sword in his hand, and the two rushed at each other, knowing that no words were needed. Their swords met in a brilliant clash of crystal that sent shockwaves through the whole of Kiten, and as the two parted, Frida was already following up on her next attack.
But Kivn's cast speed was faster. "Sound Magic: Equaliser!" he yelled, as the concentrated burst of sound energy hurtled towards Frida, who barely reacted quickly enough with Wall of Jericho to shield herself from the brunt of the attack, amethyst shards being strewn everywhere. One hurtled towards a building, but before anyone could react, Armand Creel was there, golden lightning surging around his legs as he kicked the particularly large shard away, and destroyed it with a Sniper Bolt.
"Nice timing, Creel," Frida smirked.
"You really must be more careful, Vice-Captain," he jokingly retorted back, and then rushed onwards to go and help with the rescue effort. Lyra and Erin flew by on their Moth Wings and Free Cloud spells respectively, and Kian ran past Frida using a new spell he had learnt, Acceleration.
"Let's have a chat, Kivn," Frida said, her confidence renewed at seeing her subordinates, "leader to leader."
"I've gotten even stronger since I last defeated you," Kivn snarled. "What makes you think a worm like you could beat someone like me?"
"If someone as insignificant and useless as my brother Lars could defeat you," Frida said, activating Brutus's Armour, "you must have been a pushover after all. Besides…"
A wild grin spread over her face. "I've gotten stronger too."
…
"Advance, soldiers," Cardinal Iona Veska ordered, "in the name of the Diamond Kingdom. I will protect myself. Spread out and cover the southern sector of Kiten."
"It will be done, your eminence!" the soldiers yelled, and split into four groups.
It was just past midday, and the Cardinal and her forces had landed in the southern part of the town, and now they scattered, leaving the Cardinal to her own devices. She fell to her knees and began to pray.
"Sapphire Magic: Hallowed Beryl Gospels," she murmured. Four levitating figures made of sapphire materialised on her north-west, north-east, south-east and south west. They held menacingly sharp blades similar to the ones she had used to fight Bellatrix, and had wings behind their suits of armour. Veska's Holy Paladins spell was, for all of its power, quite energy inefficient, due to her having to send orders to most of them at the same time. Hallowed Beryl Gospels was her solution to this. By concentrating her mana into directing only four soldiers, she could protect herself and still conserve her mana.
As the four soldiers moved outwards, Iona ordered them to plunge their sapphire swords into the hard ground. "Freeze," she breathed, and the carbon dioxide around her began to freeze, coating everything in a large radius with a thin yet dense layer of dry ice.
Zoe and Charlotte landed at the site of the Gospels, and therefore where Iona was located.
"So she's the source of the ice," Zoe observed, taking out her paintbrush, which Zoe had made now as large as a dagger. She turned towards Charlotte, who had a grim look on her face, even more serious than before.
"Zoe," the Blue Rose Captain said. "I'm going for the Cardinal. While I do not believe that grudges are befitting of someone such as myself, I have a score to settle. I trust that you can handle her lackeys."
"Y-yes, Captain Charlotte…" Zoe obliged, quite dejected at having her hopes of fighting the big boss popped like a balloon. But she was obedient, and readied her paintbrush, ready to support her captain at a moment's notice.
As Charlotte walked towards the Cardinal, a Gospel came to intercept her. Zoe, however, was fast, and caught the Gospel off guard, drawing dots of ink on the air.
"Ink Magic: Piercing Shadows!" she yelled, hitting the Gospel's head with many pinpoint strands of ink, which caused it to explode.
Upon this attack, the other three Gospels converged at Zoe's location, their swords glinting menacingly in the afternoon light. Zoe formed her own blade by writing the kanji, and wielded her sword in one hand, and the paintbrush in the other.
Meanwhile, Charlotte stared down Iona Veska, her briar whip-blade thingy extending slightly as she readied her next attack.
"Briar Magic: Crown of Thorns," she said, as a gyrating ring of thorns appeared around her head, glowing green with mana. Veska sent her Frost Tendrils spell at Charlotte, four icy tendrils speeding towards her. However, her supplementary-defensive hybrid spell extended a long briar to smack the tendrils out of the way, destroying them. The briar retracted back into the Crown of Thorns.
Veska didn't react, instead preparing her next spell. "Sapphire Magic: Azure Cascade," she mumbled, as a rain of sharpened sapphires came from. the air above the Captain. She swung her briar sword, smacking most of them out of the way. The Cardinal decided to instead focus on a continuous assault, intensifying the reload speed of her Azure Cascade, all while not opening her eyes. Her clasped hands tightened, her crystalline armour shone with power, and the barrage of sapphires became a bombardment.
Charlotte, realising that her Crown of Thorns couldn't possibly keep up with the new amount of sapphires, resolved instead to focus more attention on defence. "Briar Magic: Verdant Shield!" she yelled, as a hollow ball of briars appeared around her, some of the many outer briars extending to swat away the sapphires.
Iona opened her eyes and stood up from her kneeling position on the ground. "Sapphire Magic," she said, her voice confident and her resolve on full display, "Radiant Shard."
She raised her hand, and a burst of sapphires erupted from it, hovering around the Blue Rose Captain. The Cardinal brought down her hands in a crossing motion, and the shards hurtled towards Charlotte, who used Verdant Shield to once again block the attack. But Veska, as battle hardened as she was, had sensed a weak point, and quickly summoned her Sapphire Carver to cut through the briar shield, exposing Charlotte. Iona changed her grip, and swung her sword up in an arc.
Charlotte quickly swung her briar sword thingy to meet it, and the two clashed, sending shockwaves throughout Kiten. For her lean figure, Iona was strong, and she forced Charlotte to part from her so she could get some distance.
"You've gotten faster since I last saw you," Iona said, with the air of a teacher observing her student. "If I had done that to you a few years ago, when we first met on the battlefield, you would be dead."
"We all grow from experience, Cardinal," Charlotte replied, sweat running down her brow. "You're unusually talkative today. I thought you were a woman of action."
"Then I will show you my action!" the Cardinal declared, leaping back and raising her sword, twisting herself so she would slash in a cresent motion.
"A clash it is then," Charlotte replied, gritting her teeth and raising her weapon. Blue roses began to grow on the ground.
"Sapphire x Dry Ice Combination Magic: Rend of Divine Wisdom!"
"Briar Magic: Frenzied Rosethorn Cataclysm!"
…
"Yo! Yuno!" Lars said, giving the Golden Dawn knight a wave. "Good to see you again!"
You see, that would have been a fine thing to do if Yuno wasn't currently fighting the Shining General Lagus. For all of his extremely high IQ, Lars could be quite oblivious. A stray bolt of lightning from their battle hurtled towards him at high speed, which he blocked with Infinite Thought Shield.
The best thing I can do for him is to leave him alone and help the civilians, Lars thought. "Everyone, get out of her now! This is an order!"
The various citizens scattered around began to look at Lars, most heeding his warning and getting away from the blast zone, but one particular man came up to him, clearly under the influence of alcohol. Lars could feel his mind energy
"Why should we lissen to yu?" he slurred, staggering as he pushed a hammy finger into Lars's chest.
"Being drunk while an enemy nation is attacking is crazy work," Lars laughed, not offended but amused by the drunkard's disposition. Another arrow sent by Lagus came flying out of seemingly nowhere, and this time, it was hurtling straight towards the man.
"Tempest Magic: Flailing Vortex!"
Vivianne and Kian Voss came out of seemingly nowhere, the former shooting a miniature vortex that completely dissipated the bolt towards the fast lightning bolt. It sped through the air with intensity, getting there completely faster than the man as it sucked the lightning arrow into its powerful rotation, dissipating it. The tempest disappeared as she landed in front of Lars.
"Well sir, now you know," Lars said, sending the drunk man off with a pat on the back.
"So this is the guy you've been praising so much?" Vivianne asked her older brother, her gold eyes piercing into Lars just like Kian often did. She put a finger on her cheek, tilting her head. "From his mana, he doesn't seem like anything special to me… your judgement was probably misplaced, as always."
"Trust me, this guy's the real deal," Kian chuckled. "You know that strong Diamond Kingdom guy that Vice-Captain Frida was fighting just now? He beat him easily."
"I wouldn't say it was easy," Lars replied awkwardly, scratching his head. But in an instant, Vivianne was in front of him, looking him up and down, examining him from top to bottom.
"I like this guy. He seemed like a good person." Vivianne said, concluding his examination and pointing out a very amused Lars to her brother.
"Yes, Vivianne, that's what I've been saying this whole time," Kian sighed, adjusting his glasses. "I'm sorry about her, Lars. She's kind of a bother… Hey! That hurts!"
Lars chuckled. The short girl had clambered on top of her (also short) brother and started pulling his hair. "You guys are like little kids."
"Correction - she is a little kid," Kian said, wincing. Vivianne had acrobatically flipped off of his back and landed gracefully. "Lord knows how tired I am of her. But, she's my sibling, and at the end of the day, the one way for me to repay my debt to my mother and father is to take care of her and my five other siblings."
"You have five other siblings?" Lars exclaimed, doing a double take.
"He never told you?" Vivianne asked, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Let me guess, he didn't tell you he got together with Lyra as well?"
"To be fair, I saw that one coming from a mile away. When I met Lyra for the first time, I could sense that she was crazy in love with him, but denying her feelings," Lars said with the air of a great sage who had made a groundbreaking discovery.
"And you didn't tell me?" Kian said. "Aw man, I could have used that to my advantage!"
All three Magic Knights' heads turned as they saw a spatial magic portal appear from out of nowhere, and four Black Bulls, three of which Lars recognised, appear out of it.
"The Black Bulls? What're they doing here?" Vivianne asked her brother.
"Is that good old Finral?" Kian asked, his eyebrows raised, not paying attention to his sister at all.
Captain Yami said something to the Black Bulls and headed to Captain Vangeance's Great Tree Mistletin spell. This left the other Black Bulls all alone.
"Hey! Asta!" Lars yelled, running over to the group and kneeling down to high five Charmy. "And Charmy too? Man, I did not expect to see you guys here!"
"I hope you enjoyed my food, la!" Charmy said, returning Lars's high five.
"It was the best I've ever tasted," Lars declared, a single solitary tear falling down his cheek as he remembered how he had savoured the taste of Charmy's rice. His mouth started to water as he drifted off in thought, but he quickly snapped back to reality.
A/N: Oop, there goes gravity (GET OU-)
"The dropkick guy!" Asta yelled in recognition. "WHOA, what's that cool sword on your back? Never seen one of those before! And your ki tells me you've gotten stronger than before!"
"It's a naginata," Lars declared proudly, "not a sword, and it's my pride and joy. I finally thought of a name for her: Big Bertha. Pretty cool, right? More importantly OH MY GOD WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR ARMS?"
"They got cursed by a member of the Eye of the Midnight Sun!" Asta replied cheerily.
"How can you say that so cheerfully?" Lars said. "Whatever, don't let this hold you back. Fight with your mouth if you have to, because I don't intend for one of my rivals to stagnate. Having stronger rivals will make it more satisfying when I beat them!"
"Like hell I'm gonna let you beat me to becoming the Wizard King before me!" Asta declared, sparks of a competitive, healthy rivalry flying between the two.
"So, big brother, how do you know this guy?" Vivianne asked, leaning to see her brother's face in full view.
"Remember when I told you mum used to work for a noble?" Kian said, adjusting his glasses. "Well, this is that noble. Finral of House Roulacase."
"You didn't need to give me such a good introduction, Kian," Finral chuckled, extending his hand to Vivianne. "Nice to meet you, Kian's sister."
"I can tell he's a playboy, and not a good one either," Vivianne declared. "He stinks of rejection."
Finral sank to his knees, his confidence shattered.
"But," the Aqua Deer knight added, a smile on her face, "if my brother has such a high opinion of you, I won't judge. Nice to meet you, Finral."
The two shook hands, Finral's confidence slightly renewed.
"Would you look at that," Lars mused, looking up at the sky. "Not a scratch on that pretty boy."
Yuno landed on the ground, descending gracefully courtesy of his Wind Magic. "I was just wondering when I'd get to see you again, Lars. I hope you haven't been falling behind. As you can see, I've gotten stronger."
"I haven't been slacking off either," Lars stated proudly.
"Asta!" two other voices cried out. They came from two Golden Dawn knights, people who Lars would soon learn were Klaus Lunettes, someone who he knew before from his family's many social connections, and Mimosa Vermillion.
"Good old Klaus! I was wondering when I'd see you again!" Lars said, slapping him on the back, something that normally got a reaction out of Klaus, but this time, he simply nodded back at Lars, adjusting his glasses, and walked over to Asta.
"What happened to your arms?" Klaus asked, an expression of deep worry on his face. "Never mind. I wasn't worried about you."
"Is it serious? Are you okay?" Mimosa asked. "I'll use-"
"Save it for the injured, Golden Dawn girl," Lars cut in, holding up his hand to stop her from talking. "It's the most logical course of action. And by the way, you look a lot like the Vice-Captain…"
"That's because he's my brother," Mimosa said, an expression of slight annoyance coming over her face, not at Lars, but at the mention of Kirsch.
"I think I know you," Lars said. "Mimosa, right? Nice to meet you."
Mimosa smiled. "Nice to meet you too."
"Anyways, I should probably get going. There's some stuff that I need to do," Lars remarked, walking off. "Latersss."
"Oh, would you look at that? We should probably get going too!" Kian said, activating Acceleration. Two speed arrows appeared on his legs, and Vivianne climbed on his back. "See you around, Finral!"
The two ran off. I wonder how Frida's doing, Kian thought. Hopefully she's lost by now- nah, just kidding. I dislike her, but I don't actively pray for her downfall.
…
"My enemies," Ximena panted, "are many."
She swung a fist, completely taking a Diamond Kingdom soldier out. He staggered back a few paces and fell on his back, out cold.
"But my equals… are none."
This time, she used one of her spells, Tectonic Ripper, to take out another wave of Diamond soldiers who rushed towards her, spells and weapons in hand. Multiple jagged spikes of hardened earth hit them, incapacitating them and leaving her standing victorious.
"Your style of battle," Kirsch commented to Ximena, sitting atop a roof while manipulating his cherry blossoms, "uses up too much energy in an unbeautiful way. Do try to refine your battle style, Ximena; it's a blemish on my perfect, beautiful record."
"You didn't even do half as much work as me! Get down here and say that one more time!" Ximena yelled, backhanding a Diamond soldier who tried to sneak up on her and creating a small slab of earth to hit him squarely in the jaw, knocking him out as well.
"I don't wish to help with evacuating commoners," Kirsch said, flicking his hair. "Let's move on to somewhere else."
"Must…find…more…strong opponents," Ximena said, panting. Kirsch conjured a bed of cherry blossoms to carry her along, and the two rushed off, searching for their next victims.
Kivn, who was still fighting Frida, looked back at the waste that these two had laid onto his lackeys. He gritted his teeth, knowing that he could either continue his grudge match with the amethyst mage or do the smart thing and retreat. Both breathed raggedly, their clothes tattered and both were bleeding from cuts somewhere or other.
"If you have honour as a warrior," Kivn breathed, "let me retrieve my wounded men and go."
Frida snarled. "Honour went completely out of the window when you impaled me. Amethyst Crystal Magic: Regi-"
"Then you leave me no choice," Kivn muttered. He was a proud warrior second, and a military commander first, a military commander with a duty to look after his men. He quickly cast Crystal Cliff and hardened it with around 10% of his remaining mana, and headed off to secure his men. His deputy, a slender woman with glasses, decked in signature Diamond Kingdom attire, arrived just a few moments later.
"Adjutant General," Kivn said. "Good timing. Help me load these men onto my spell." Kivn's grimoire flipped as he began to cast his next spell.
"Topaz x Sound Combination Magic: Fortissimo Dragon," he said, as a large golden dragon that spanned the whole length of the street appeared. As the Adjutant General and Kivn's newly created Topaz Soldiers loaded the wounded onto his dragon, they were bound securely by topaz restraints and put in topaz seats. Kivn and his deputy hopped onto the dragon's head, and they flew off. The topaz cliff disintegrated just as Frida broke it, and she looked up at the Diamond Kingdom mage.
"We'll meet again, Frida Mertens," Kivn yelled, a glint in his eye, "that I swear."
"Next time, leave your baggage at home," Frida yelled, a wild grin on her face, her ponytail whipping in the wind.
The topaz dragon sped off in a burst of sound wave generated speed, Kivn standing on it like a pirate captain.
"And so, the grudge match remains unsettled," Frida sighed. "Just when I thought I'd get one over that fool Lars by defeating him. I swear, when I catch that… UGH!"
She summoned Glissando and sped away, looking for something to take her frustration out on.
…
"And I was really hoping I'd get to see Lars as well…" Lucia stated, a dejected look on her face.
"Well, we've finished evacuating everyone in this sector, so I guess we should do one final check to make sure that there are no loose Diamond soldiers running around," Elda said. "Glass Magic: Lucent Platform!"
Elda became elevated, and then she ran quite literally, on the air, using her Glass Magic to create small platforms whenever she stepped.
"She's doing all of that while maintaining a constant altitude," Dana remarked. "Her concentration is immense."
"The amount of focus it takes to pull off something like that is ridiculously underrated," Lucia said, her green eyes gleaming with admiration.
"Then let me show you something I've been working on too," Dana smiled. "Lens Magic: Lentille de Lumen."
Multiple lenses appeared around the area of Kiten that the girls were in. One more lens appeared in front of Dana, and it began to refract the light to allow her to see what the lenses were actually focusing on.
"No one there, no one there…" Dana murmured. Suddenly, she saw a certain someone that she knew her best friend was looking for, and she smirked mischievously.
"Hey, Lucia," the Lens Magic user called, "come look at this."
Lucia saw what Dana was focusing on, and a wide grin spread across her face.
It was Lars, talking with the rest of the Coral Peacocks that had arrived to defend Kiten, minus Ximena and Kirsch.
"Go see them," Dana smiled. "We'll handle things he-"
Dana was cut off as Lucia hugged her tightly. Her reaction would have normally been a lot less intense than this, but she hadn't seen Lars in four weeks due to the heavy amount of missions they'd been going on, and her heart was aching.
"Let me go, you'll crack a rib!" Dana exclaimed as the redhead blushed and put her down.
"My bad," she chuckled sheepishly.
"You girls shouldn't have wasted so much time~" a sadistic voice said, as the two Blue Rose Knights' heads turned. It was Dame Velda Thorn herself. Just in case you forgot, she was the Diamond Kingdom general who Sharya fought in the dungeon. Her appearance was relatively the same as last time, except there was a black dress below her Diamond Kingdom robes, and she wore a black military cap.
Elda landed next to her two squadmates, a nervous expression on her face. "Who's this lady?"
"Why, I'm Dame Thorn, a general of the Diamond Kingdom," Velda crooned. "And if you move, you die. My Poison Trap Magic has already activated around most of where you are, so I'd watch your step if I were you~"
The three girls gritted their teeth in unison, knowing that this wasn't a good situation to be in. Dana deactivated her Lentille de Lumen and loaded her crossbow, using Mana Coating to enchant the bolts. "Lens Magic: Deadlock," she whispered, as the aiming lens appeared in front of her eye.
Lucia used Tarot Deck, sifting through the cards until she finally found the one she wanted: her Strength card. All the cards in the deck became strength ones, and she readied her bow, drawing her string back and nocking one card. Elda's fingertips glowed with Glass Magic, as she readied one of her attacks.
This tense standoff continued until it was eventually broken by a long, thin strand of blonde hair hitting the General in the shoulder, piercing through it. She stumbled back in pain, losing her focus and causing her trap magic to dissipate.
Velda Thorn clutched her shoulder, eyes widening as she traced the faint golden strand of hair piercing her Diamond Kingdom robes. She yanked it out, grimacing in pain.
"Who in the world—?" Velda snarled, looking around.
A shy cough sounded, followed by a young woman with blonde hair that shimmered like spun gold stepping hesitantly into view. She wore the Purple Orcas' insignia on her cloak, though her stance was anything but imposing. She adjusted her glasses, her face flushed as she cleared her throat.
"U-Um… I'm… Fransiska Granvorka. But, um, you can call me Fani if that's easier." Her voice trembled as she brushed a loose strand of extremely long hair behind her ear. "A-And I really, really don't like people who threaten my comrades." Her blush deepened, though she managed a determined look at Velda. "So… please leave."
Velda sneered, brushing off the strand dismissively, but Fani's eyes steeled with resolve. The ground around her swirled as her magic flared, her hair rippling and extending, growing until strands coiled around her like living threads of power.
"Hair Magic: Golden Coil Prison!" she cried, voice cracking as she launched a mass of thick, golden strands forward. The hair wrapped around Velda's arms and torso in a powerful, almost unbreakable bind, slamming her against the ground with tremendous force.
Velda struggled, but Fani's magic held firm, each strand pulsing with mana. The general hissed in anger, her Poison Magic sparking uselessly in her bound hands.
There are always those Magic Knights on the cusp of true power, the ones ready to rise in rank should their captain ever fall. Frida Mertens of the Silver Eagles, with her fierce yet beautiful Amethyst Crystal Magic, a born leader with a no-nonsense attitude to battle; Hugo Vance of the Aqua Deer, whose White Sand Magic strikes with brutal precision and graceful arrogance; and then there's Kirsch Vermillion, the flamboyant Coral Peacock with Cherry Blossom Magic as sharp as his vanity. Yet standing among these titans is one Fransiska Granvorka - unassuming, soft-spoken, socially awkward as hell, but possessing one of the strongest wills of all.
As if sensing her own unspoken reputation, Fani tightened her grip on her spell, the coils of her golden hair constricting around Velda. "I... I won't let you hurt anyone else," she said, voice soft but sure.
Velda thrashed, her power waning beneath the unyielding grip of Fani's Hair Magic.
A/N: For those of you who are interested, Fransiska is heavily based on Sense from Frieren. Except I changed her personality.
She's such a fun character to write :)
You'll be seeing a lot more of her this arc, that's all I have to say.
and i'm bolding spell names from now on
