I don't own any of the characters except for Oc.
"Natsu vs. Erza"
~Jennifer's POV~
I stretch my arms up and start the morning off. I hopped off of the bed. And went to make breakfast for everyone. I continued cooking breakfast, I was humming a song, the song was one of Inuyasha ending, then sing it, "If you are filled with sadness, you can lean on me, I get, I get, I get, get the feeling, I get, I get, I get, get the dreaming, Just like the way it is...Come my way, alone in this darkness, Come close to me now I'll shine some light, I'll be with you, I'll be with you, I'll stay beside you, So come my way." As I hummed the instrumental.
"That's a nice song..." I heard a voice behind me, I flinched in shock, I turned to Natsu smiling at me. "Thanks." I blushed at his comment. "I'm done, here." I placed the breakfast on the table and Natsu run to the table and start eating the breakfast. Happy to join it, and I join as well. We finished our breakfast.
We all headed towards the guild, and Natsu couldn't seem to get there fast enough. He ran ahead to the guild, making me and Happy have to chase after him to make sure he didn't destroy anything.
When I got there, I saw Natsu already confronting Erza who sat at the bar eating a slice of strawberry cake. I walked over to see what was going on.
"You promised to fight me!" The fire mage reminded the red head.
The requip mage sighed, standing up. "Very well, but know that I won't go easy on you."
The fight was set to be outside the guild hall, and a large crowd had already gathered around the two Fairy Tail mages. I squeezed past the throng of people and made my way to the front, where the rest of my guildmates were watching.
I spotted Mirajane on your right, greeting her. "Hey, Mira."
"Good morning, Jenny." The take-over mage replied, smiling sweetly. Her younger brother, Elfman, stood behind her.
A gasp sounded behind me. "No way! They're really going through with it!?" I heard Lucy shout in disbelief.
I looked over my shoulder to see the blonde mage stumbling through the crowd, Gray at her heels. The celestial wizard had made it to the front of the horde of people, sweat glistening on her forehead.
Mirajane said hello to the blonde. "Oh hey, Lucy!"
"If those two value their manhood, then they better go through with it." Elfman replied to the celestial wizard. Mira looked over her shoulder at her younger brother. "Erza's not a man." She exclaimed.
"But you got to admit she is manly." Macao added, he was standing to the right of the take-over mages.
"Aren't you worried this fight could tear our strongest team apart?" I overheard Lucy talking to Gray.
"What're you talking about?" The ice-make wizard asked, his voice monotone. "Our strongest team?"
"You, Jenny, Natsu, and Erza, you dummy. You're the four strongest wizards in the guild!"
"We are?" The ice mage smirked. "Yea right, what idiot fed you that lie?"
Mirajane must've heard the two mages' conversation as well because she began to cry, covering her face with her hands.
"Oh, you're not an idiot, Mira." Gray tried to calm the bartender.
Lucy placed her hands on her hips. "Smooth move, Gray." I glared at Gray and comforted Mira from crying.
"I'll hand it to Natsu and Gray, they're tough little dudes." Elfman started. "But neither of them are even close to being the strongest. There are guys in Fairy Tail who are stronger than both of them combined." He pointed to himself. "Like this guy!"
"But calling Erza the strongest woman in the guild is a pretty safe bet." Levy chimed in behind you.
"As far as the guys, it's a pretty tough call, but I'd put my money on Laxus or Mystogan." Jet added.
"Let not forget, Gildarts, he is a very strong wizard." I said.
Mirajane defended herself, tears still streaming down her face. "All I meant was that the four of them work well together and have the best team chemistry in all of Fairy Tail."
"Okay, this is coming from the same person who sent me on a mission to keep Natsu and Gray from killing each other when Erza wasn't around." Lucy questioned.
Elfman exclaimed. "I got to say, I'm pretty psyched to see how this fight is going to turn out."
"Oh, yea? I'm Erza will end up mopping the floor with him." Gray stated.
I laughed. "Ain't that the truth."
Everyone turned their attention to Erza suddenly. Her armor was glowing and she suddenly requipped into her Flame Empress armor, signifying that the match was starting.
"That's her Flame Empress Armor, good choice." I said.
Natsu's fists became engulfed in flames as he readied himself for the first attack.
"Round 1, start!" Master Makarov announced the first round.
The dragon slayer quickly ran towards Erza and attempting to punch her with his flaming fists, but the nimble Titania easily dodged and swung her sword at the dragon slayer. The fire mage ducked, avoiding the sword, but then went in for a flaming kick, which the S-Class mage blocked with her Flame Empress sword. Erza swung her sword again, but Natsu dodged the flaming blade. The requip mage ran towards Natsu, easily missing his roar attack that ended up scorching the crowd. The fire mage was going in for another punch while Titania readied her sword when a gong like sound pierced the air, pausing the match. Everyone looked over to where the sound had come from and a frog like creature met their eyes.
"This match is over!" It stated. "May I have your attention, please. I have come here on behalf of the Magic Council. As a result of the Eisenwald incident, a member of your guild had been charged with eleven counts of criminal property damage. Erza Scarlet, you are under arrest!"
Everyone was moping around inside the guild hall. Erza had been arrested and taken to the Council for question, meanwhile everyone was else was sulking around the guild. I tried to look sad, but I knew that everything was going to turn out alright. The thing I was really worried about was how Natsu had run off after the S-Class mage. Everyone believed he was the tiny pink salamander in the glass cup by Mirajane, but I knew he had run off and Macao was doing him a solid.
I rested your chin on my hands, sighing. The little salamander the cup was annoying the heck out of me but I just had to deal with it.
He pounded his tiny fists on the glass. "This isn't fair you guys! Let me out of here already!"
"Natsu! Try to calm down!" Mirajane hissed.
"Let me out, pretty pretty please?!"
Mira exclaimed. "You'll go on a rampage!"
"I'll be good, I swear! Now please just turn me back to the way I was before!" Macao pleaded.
"The second we turn you back, you'll run out to save Erza!"
The salamander growled. "Give me a break, I couldn't care less about what happens to her!"
"Even if you wanted to help her, it's not like we can face off against the Council." Gray added.
"But don't those jerks on the Council know that Erza did what she had to do to save the lives of the guild masters from those bad guys and their evil death flute!?"
The ice wizard retorted. "If the Magic Council says you're guilty, then you're guilty, end of story. They don't care about what we have to say."
"I just don't get it. We've destroyed plenty of stuff in the past and they've never made a big deal out of it." Elfman grumbled.
"I know." Laki exclaimed. "It doesn't make any sense."
"It's like, there's some other reason for this..." Lucy thought aloud. Suddenly the blonde wizard stood up. "This is wrong! We should be there to testify!"
"We're not going to court." Makarov stated firmly.
The celestial mage ran up to him. "But why not, Master? We all know she's innocent, we can't just sit here and let them lock her away!"
"Even if we left this very second, there's no way we'd make it there in time." The master exclaimed.
"But-"
"I've been stuck under this stupid cup all day guys! Come on, you got to let me out of her!'" Macao pleaded.
"Sure you want out?" Makarov asked. After there was no reply, he said, "What's the matter? It seems you've lost the fire in your belly." He hit the cup with a shot of magic, sending Macao crushing to the ground and transformed back into himself.
"It's Macao!" Levy shouted.
"That was you!?"
He rubbed the back of his head. "Yea, sorry guys, but I owed Natsu a favor. I turned myself into a Salamander so that everybody would think I was him."
"I mean, I know that was Macao." I said with bland voice.
Lucy asked, "you know that wasn't Natsu, Jenny!but do you know where he went?"
"He went after Erza, didn't he?" Gray hissed.
"Yea, 'fraid so." He sighed.
"You got to be kidding me!" Elfman roared. "That idiot will probably try to fight the whole Council!"
"Would everyone please calm down." Gramps stated. "We have no choice but to wait and see what happens."
Levy walked up behind you. "Hey, are you okay? You've been really quiet."
"Now that you mention it, Jenny has been pretty quiet." Lucy added.
"Hmmm, I was just thinking about something, but it's nothing. I'm just worried I guess." I said looking at them.
"About Erza or Natsu?" Lucy elbowed me, smirking.
I smiled a little. "Both of them."
"Who would've thought fresh air could smell so sweet! I'm going to breathe it in all day!" Natsu punched the air, a silly grin plastered to his face. He ran around the guild hall, excitement in every step he took. "It's the sweet smell of freedom! I'll never take it for granted again!"
"Isn't he precious when he gets all excited?" Mirajane smiled sweetly.
I chuckled. "You can say that again."
Everyone was pretty surprised that the arrest was just for show and not that serious. The Council just needed someone to blame for the incident so it didn't fall onto their shoulders.
"Hey, Natsu!" I heard Elfman at a nearby table. "When are you going to finish going man to man with Erza?"
"Oh yea, I forgot about that."He turned towards the S-Class mage. "So, what do you say? You want to pick up where we left off?"
"I'm not in the mood right now." She retorted sourly.
The dragon slayer's fist surrounded in flames. He charged towards Erza. "I'm not letting you off the hook that easy!"
The requip mage stood up and punched him hard in the gut, not wanting to deal with the fire mage's childish antics. Natsu feel to the floor, stunned.
"How's that?" The red head stated. "Are you satisfied?"
"And he's down!" Happy cheered.
A few of the guild members burst out laughing, but some just chuckled softly. I did neither.
I overheard Master Makarov and Mirajane discussing something when a sudden fatigue fell over you. "Mystogan...?" I said as he walked into the guild hall, making everyone fall asleep. I smiled as he was talking with Gramps, he finished talking with him, and continued to walked out the Guild hall, walking by me, looked at me and I gave him a smiled and wink, he continued to walked out. Everyone else had snapped out of Mystogan's sleep spell a little bit earlier than you did for they were discussing rank of the mysterious S-Class wizard.
"...a contender for Fairy Tail's strongest wizard." You heard Elfman.
Gray exclaimed. "For some reason he doesn't want anyone to see what he looks like." He added. "So, whenever he comes back here to take a job, he casts a sleeping spell."
I got up, heading over to the bar to talk with Master Makarov. 'All the things I know about this world, I have to share them with someone!' I thought, sitting at the bar.
"That's kind of creepy." Lucy replied to the ice mage.
The raven haired wizard stated. "Master Makarov and Jenny is the only two person here who's ever gotten a good look at his face."
"That's not true, I've seen him before." A voice came from the second floor. I looked up to see the ominous Laxus leaning over the railing.
"Laxus!" Elfman exclaimed.
"Talk about rare!" Wakabe said, disbelief edging his tone. "You're never here."
"And here's another contender." I heard Gray mumble.
"Mystogan's just a little shy. You should all respect his privacy." The lightning wizard smirked.
I saw Natsu dart up from where he was laying on the floor. "Alright, Laxus! You and me, right now!"
"Natsu..." I hissed at him, advising him to back down. I never liked the Laxus at the beginning of the manga and anime, he was too rude and disrespectful.
"If you can't even win against the red head, why even bother with me?" Laxus spat.
"What're you trying to say?" Erza growled at the S-Class wizard.
The lightning wizard raised his arms. "I'm saying that I'm the guild's strongest wizard!"
"Yeah right, keep telling yourself that, you're not strong like Gildarts, and I still kick your butt." I said to him. Laxus gives me a glared
"Then come down here and prove it." Natsu threatened.
I stood up, looking at him. "Natsu, stop."
"You come to me, little man."
"With pleasure!" The fire mage attempted to jump up to the second floor, but Gramps swat him down.
"You're not allowed on the second floor, Natsu." He stated. "At least not yet."
"Hehe, I think you made him grumpy." Laxus teased.
The dragon slayer grumbled. "Shut up."
"The most powerful wizard in the guild isn't a chick or some hooded weirdo, you wanna know what the strongest wizard looks like?" He pointed at himself. "You're looking right at him!"
"Again, false." I responded.
After the fiasco at the guild hall, Lucy invited me over to her place for some tea, saying she wanted to discuss some matters with me. Me and Lucy were walking along the water's edge, the sun had already set and the sky was full of stars. The street lamps shone brightly along the cobblestone walkway creating playful shadows along the walls of the nearby buildings.
"Wow, Mystogan, Laxus, and even you. There are so many famous wizards in Fairy Tail, aren't there?" The blond walking in front of me said, not directly speaking to anyone.
I nodded, "Yea, there are quite a few."
"I think I've figured out how everyone's ranked in the guild too." Lucy exclaimed. "I guess I have to start working my way to the top."
"Good luck." I smiled, following the celestial mage to her apartment's doorstep. Lucy unlocked the door and turned the handle. I followed her inside and up the stairs to her residence.
As Lucy began to fiddle with the lock on her door, I asked. "So, what did you want to do-"
"Hey, welcome home Lucy. Oh, and Jenny's here too." A vest-less Natsu was laying, doing curl-ups on Lucy's bed, Happy beside him lifting weights.
The blond screamed and kicked the dragon slayer off of her bed. "You guys stink!" I stood in the doorway, watching as Lucy chewed them out. "Why don't you jerks work out at your own house?" The celestial wizard pointed outside.
"Now, Lucy. If we want to work together like a team," Natsu held up a pink dumbbell. "We have to train like one."
"We thought you'd like the pink ones." Happy added.
"I don't care what color it is I'm not lifting weights with you!"
I crossed your arms, leaning on the door frame. "Yo, what about me?" I asked jokingly with an amused expression on my face.
The Lychee-Haired turned towards me, scratching the back of his head. "Oh, we didn't know where you were and we had no idea where you might have been so we just came over to Loony's place." He explained, a nervous smile on his face.
"It's Lucy!"
"Oh, you didn't even look for me?" I questioned, trying to laugh at the hilarity of the situation. "Am I not a part of this team?"
"O-of course you are!" Natsu quickly replied.
I gave him a quizzical look. "Why are you working out anyways?" I asked, already knowing the answer.
"We have to kick it up a notch if we want to beat Laxus and Erza." The fire mage exclaimed, starting push-ups on the floor.
"Aye sir." Happy joined him.
I walked over to Lucy's side. "Guess we're not having tea, huh?"
"I just want a little peace and quiet, now get out!" The blond hissed.
"Don't worry we'll train quietly, Lucy." Natsu whispered.
The celestial mage looked down in defeat. "Why does this stuff always happen to me."
"I've made a decision." The dragon slayer stated. "I was going to wait until we could find Jenny but since she's here..."
"Huh?" Lucy puzzled.
I had an amused look on my face, at how cute Natsu was.
Natsu continued. "Our team is ready for the big leagues, S-Class!"
"Yea!" Happy held up an S-Class Quest. "Check it out!"
"How did you get that!?" Lucy shouted. "I thought we weren't aloud to go on the second floor!"
"Well, I just climbed the stairs and took it." The blue exceed explained.
The blond hissed. "You little cat burglar!"
Happy giggled and I tried my best to suppress a laugh.
"Since this is our first S-Class Quest, we decided to go with the smallest reward we found on the board." Natsu explained, putting his vest back on. "But seven-million is still a lot of jewel!"
"We're not ready for it!" The blond exclaimed. "If the Master knew we had this job request he'd be furious!"
The fire mage smiled. "Yea, but I think he'd actually end up being proud of us if we actually pulled it off, right Jenny?"
I nodded. "Yeah, well yours truly is a S-class wizard, I can be you guys standee for this mission if you like, it could be fun."
Lucy turned toward you. "Jenny, are you crazy!? You're taking their side?"
I shrugged, "It's not a terrible idea."
The celestial mage sighed, seating herself in her desk chair. "This is probably one of the dumbest ideas you've ever had. If you want to rise up the ranks you should try following the guild's rules."
"Geez, we're never gonna make S-Class with that kind of attitude."
Lucy rested her head on her hand. "You can go where ever you want, I'm staying right here."
"But the job is saving a tropical island." Happy added.
The blond suddenly became interested. "Really?"
The exceed nodded.
"It's the cursed island of Galuna!" Natsu and Happy said in a spooky voice. "No way, definitely not going now." Lucy stated shakily.
"I'll give you half the fish I catch, Lucy."
"What kind of incentive is that supposed to be!?" The blond shouted. She exhaled loudly, turning away from the two.
Natsu sighed. "Fine, we're out of here. Jenny, you coming?"
I heard the blond mutter, "That's the best idea you've had all day."
"Oh, no I'm going to stay here with Lucy." I replied. "See you, tomorrow I guess."
I liked like the fire mage was going to say something but decided otherwise. He opened the window and jumped out, Happy hoisting him into the air.
"For crying out loud, would you use the door!" Lucy cried after them. She sighed turning back towards you. "Sorry about that the-" The blond shrieked, noticing something on the floor. "Oh no, they left the job request here! Now everybody's going to think I'm the one who stole it!"
"I doubt that."
"Wait a minute." The mage picked up the paper. "On top of the giant reward you also get a gate key?"
I smiled. "Yep."
Lucy grabbed my wrist, dragging me out the door. "Wait up you guys! We're coming too!"
