Surge wakes up, along with Kit, in their house, like they do all the time. It's not the best place to live but they live here. This is all they can get and they're fine with it. They don't have parents, and haven't had a parental figure in a long time. At least Surge is mostly fine with it, Kit sometimes doesn't think for himself. Which caused a bit of wishful ignorance on his part. Ignoring that first part, Surge wishes Kit could crack out of his shell more. Tails helped but that only goes so far. But that's not the main concern for Surge right now. Getting ready for school is. Which they do in good time then go to the school bus stop then wait for the bus. Like usual they're early. So Surge leans against a sign and Kit sits down hugging his knees. Once again waiting for the bus. Some other people come to their bus stop. It's enough to have a bit of a crowd and blend in but not enough to really call it a crowd. Surge doesn't care as long as she and Kit are all good.

Blaze hopes it will be a good day today. Maybe she should take Cream's advice. But right now she has to get ready. No matter what advice she takes. Waking up, brushing teeth, flossing, all the usual things. Leading to waiting inside with Cream and Marine then waiting outside with Cream and Marine. They removed the police tape from Marine's house. The police let her get her things besides necessary items they needed from her house. Apparently it will be bought out soon. Marine is happy someone can live there that isn't her or her family. Way too happy, well considering her previous experiences maybe not. They wait for a bit before the bus comes then they get on. The bus is weird, bumpy and mostly full of nothingness. Blaze doesn't mind too much, it's fine. She can deal with it being like it always is. Her bus driver seems to know what they are doing, they drive well and get to school on time so can she even complain? The answer is yes but she won't. At least she won't verbally.

Amy knows today will be a good day. Waking up is easy, Getting ready is easy, everything is easy today. After getting ready and doing anything she needs to do for herself or for her grandma. She waits for the bus. It arrives punctually. Amy gets on and sits in her seat. The bus is still quiet but at this point, she doesn't mind. It's all good. She has people to talk to at school. The bus doesn't take more time than usual to get to school. Amy notices a few new stops and skips a few old stops. But nothing much has changed. The bus ride is smooth like usual. Nothing bad happens. Nobody says anything. Everything is good, great even. Easy. Blindly easy. She gets to school and gets off her bus to find Blaze and see what classes they got together.

"Schedule?"

"Here you go." Blaze passes it to Amy who inspects it with precision.

"I can't believe it" Amy stands there shocked at the schedule

"You can't believe what?" Blaze asks and chuckles a bit.

"We have all the same classes"

"Really? Again?"

"Well almost all, music and art are again the exception, but still"

"Yeah, Still, that's amazing." Blaze looks over the schedules, double checking to make sure nothing else changed.

"How do you think this happened?" Amy asks in confused ecstasy

"I have no idea. Maybe because our last names are so close?" Blaze suggests. Throwing anything around to explain the weird circumstances that this caused.

"Maybe…" Amy trails off into thought

While the two debate theories about how they again got all of the same classes together the Secretary smiles at the two while drinking her cup of coffee.

"Well it doesn't matter now, let's get to class." Blaze waves it away before thinking about it too hard when it probably won't make any sense for either of them anytime soon.

Amy agrees and the two make they're way up to their first period, History. Getting inside and noticing a familiar face already there sitting in a random seat in the middle of the class. Not doing much, except picking something out of her teeth seemingly.

"Hey Surge!" Amy greets the green tenrec. Who is staring off into nothingness. Who waves back and then immediately gains a mild blush. Which Amy and Blaze don't notice. Amy takes a seat next to Surge and Blaze takes a seat next to Amy.

"How's it going?" Amy asks Surge.

"Um, pretty good… You know, nothing much" Surge gives an anxious yet decently loud laugh

"Oh, well, we haven't talked much, so, um how was your summer?" Amy asks. Her intrigues peaked.

The awkwardness from the start eventually subsides. The three begin to talk like normal. Like they actually know each other. This stops when the teacher starts to call attendance for the class. The three go look at the teacher to call for attendance. Surge doesn't seem to like having to stop talking, but still remains quiet.

For her own sake and Kit's sake.

"-Adams" The teacher starts.

The three wait for their names to be called. Not too eagerly but still awaiting to be called, and to answer that they got out of bed, got ready and are in fact here.

"Blaze Rabbit?" "Here."

"Amy Rose?" "Here"

"Surge Tenrec?" "Here!"

The teacher goes over attendance, the three wait for school to officially start. A new school year is ahead of them. Another year to get through. Like last year. Then next year. Which might all be like last year. Doesn't matter, school's a drag but who cares what happens with it? Maybe it's really about the friends we made along the way or maybe about how everything sucks and we can control it. Maybe even it's about the consequences that other make happen due to their actions.

Maybe it's simply to learn and we spend so much time there that's all we can really do, other things simply happen after that for no reason.

Anyway, thank you for reading this.

Thank you, again, right after the first, thank you for reading this terrible book.
