"And with this last document, your succession as the new Queen of Fiore is finalized." A hunched-over old man spoke with a smile as he took the page from the exquisite desk in front of him, to which Hisui gave a soft smile as she nodded.
"Thank you, Minister Darton. I just hope I can a better Queen than I was a princess." She spoke with a sigh as she remembered her latest blunder that nearly ended the world, looking at Darton as he gave her a soft smile while patting her on the shoulder.
"No human is perfect. You must let go of what happened and see it as an opportunity to learn."
"I will, with your guidance, of course."
"It would be my pleasure and may I be the first one to congratulate you on your ascension, my Queen." Darton spoke with a bow as he took off his hat, Hisui smiling as she nodded and watching as he walked out & left her alone in her office.
'Hah, it's been three months since the project ended in failure…and it's been three months since he's been in a coma.' Hisui thought with a sigh as she remembered the 'Eclipse Catastrophe' as the commoners liked to call it and the 'True Dragon Slayer' who had saved them from the vile beasts.
After she had managed to make it to the ruined Eclipse Gate from the outskirts of Crocus, where she had been taken by Arcadios for safety, she along with the other mages that had managed to make it there were all shocked to see the lone slayer lying in a sea of bubbling blood while his body was covered in open cuts & bruises.
It was an even bigger shock to find out that he was just in his mid-20's even when he looked as young as 19 years old.
"Princess, may I enter?" Hisui blinked as she was knocked out of her internal thinking, looking over at her door before smiling as she heard Arcadios' voice from behind it.
"Of course, Arcadios. Please, come in."
"Forgive the intrusion." The knight muttered softly as he walked in, dressed in his casual armour as he walked towards her desk before bowing.
"Arcadios, you are my guardian. You don't have to bow every time you see me."
"I am merely giving you the proper respect, Princess." Arcadios spoke as he stood up, to which Hisui smiled as she shook her head.
"It's Queen now. The paperwork was just finalized." She informed him, to which a large smile appeared on Arcadios' face as his face lit up with joy.
"Truly? Oh, what a wonderful day this has become! Congratulations, my Queen."
"Thank you, Arcadios. Now, did you have any important news for me?" She asked as she stood up, to which he blinked before his eyes widened slightly as he nodded.
"Ah, yes! Your father has asked for your presence in our guest's room. It appears he has woken u-!" Before he could finish his sentence, his eyes widened along with that of Hisui's as a disastrous surge of ethernano flooded through the castle before Hisui gasped as she located where it was coming from.
"Father!"
"So, may I ask what is your name?" The former King Toma E. Fiore asked as he looked at the young man sitting upright on the large bed, frowning as the red-eyed man simply stared at thin air while his eyes glowed a vivid scarlet.
"Do you know what your name is?" Toma continued, waiting a few moments before his frown deepened as the young man didn't answer.
"Do you know what guild you belong to?" He asked his final question, shaking his head with a sigh as the young man only glanced at him before looking back at the empty wall opposite of the bed.
"Listen, young man. I want to help you. Truly, I do, but I can't if you simply sit there and stare at nothing. I understand that you do not trust us, but if you want us to help, then we need you to answer at least one. So, do you believe you can answer our questions, please?" Toma asked, watching as the young man glanced at him before smiling as he let out a soft sigh.
"Eric."
"That's your name?" He asked, smiling as Eric sighed & nodded before frowning as the young man pulled his knees to his chest & hid his face in between them.
"That's all you're getting out of me. Now, please leave me alone."
"Of course, but one more que-!"
"No more questions, please. Just…leave me be."
"It's just a simple question of knowing what gui-!"
"I'm trying to be nice and you're testing my patience, Toma. Leave me alone and go the fuck away!" Eric growled and the king fell backwards out of his seat as the young man looked at him with an enraged look, a few tears flowing down his face while a scarlet blaze eviscerated the bed and completely scorched the room around him.
Despite how the flames didn't even touch him as it continued to rage, the king couldn't help the terror in his heart as he gave a shaky nod and quickly rushed out of the room, stopping the Rune Knights from entering while frowning as he watched a door made out of flames rising up & completely blocking it off from entry.
"Father! Are you okay?!" Toma looked away from the door to see Hisui & Arcadios rushing towards him with worried looks, the rest of the castle's Rune Knights and the Garou Knights right behind them.
"I'm fine, everyone. However, I can't exactly say the same for our dear guest in there."
"Did he attack you, my King? Should we detain him?" Kama, leader of the Garou Knights, asked as he took off a scythe from his back, the other Garou Knights readying themselves while Arcadios unsheathed his sword.
However, they blinked as Toma raised a hand and stopped them, all of them looking at the former king as he looked at the door with a frown.
"He did not. In fact, I am the one at fault as I should have respected his request to stop asking personal questions."
"Did he say anything?" Hisui asked as she helped her father up, to which he sighed and nodded.
"The only thing he said was his name: Eric."
"Eric? I can't remember any mage listed under that name on the list of legal guild mages that we've looked through." Hisui muttered with a frown as she looked over to Arcadios, who looked to be in thought for a few moments before slowly shaking his head.
"So, what do we do about…this?" Neppa asked with a soda bottle clenched between his teeth, to which Kama frowned before turning to the bald member of the Garou Knights.
"Think you can do something about this, Uosuke?" He asked as he turned to him, to which the flagpole user frowned as he looked at the room before giving a slow nod.
"A Cold Zone & Whirlpool Zone combo could work, but assuming that the ethernano we're feeling is just him warming up, he might just decide to stop holding back."
"So, we have to wait for him to finally end this himself?" Cosmos, one of the two female Garou Knights, asked with a frown as she looked at Uosuke, shaking her head as he chuckled & nodded.
"Yep, unless you think you can go in there and get him to sto-Queen Hisui, wait!" He called out as they all turned to see Hisui reaching out, their eyes widening as she grasped the doorknob before turning it.
"M-My Queen, are you hurt?" Arcadios asked, looking surprised as she turned to smile while showing her unhurt hand.
"Not at all. I think he doesn't want to hurt me."
"Speak for yourself, my Queen." Kamika, the other woman of the Garou Knights, spoke with a frown as she reached out to the door with a few papers, hissing as they were burned up within seconds.
"Maybe he trusts me?" Hisui said/ asked with a frown, to which Toma frowned in thought before surprising everyone as he spoke up.
"Why don't you try talking to him?"
"My King, that is very dangerous. We don't know if she would be safe inside it."
"That is true, but as a ruler, you sometimes must take a risk if you wish to save and/ or progress your kingdom. Now, do you wish to talk to him?" He asked, to which she frowned in thought before smiling as she nodded and turned towards the door.
"Please, be careful, my Queen. And shout if anything happens." Arcadios spoke as Hisui turned the doorknob, the Garou Knights nodding as she giggled & nodded.
"I will. Hah, wish me luck."
Hey, Eric. If you're hearing this, it means that Made in Heaven worked and you were sent to the main timeline. Yeah, I lied about the fact that the spell would reset the timeline but if I didn't, you wouldn't have agreed to it.
Before you get mad, I have tried thousands upon thousands of times to try & save the timeline. I've tried fracturing it, refracting it, duplicating it, replicating it and even cutting out the points in time that would activate you becoming the nexus point.
Unfortunately, every time I've tried to do so, the Eric of that timeline died. That is why I believe that I killed them because if I didn't interfere with their timeline, they would have survived.
Anyway, your entire timeline is gone, including everything and everyone you ever loved but in return, you have been given a fresh start on your life at the cost of your personalized magic & your alternate variants. So, say goodbye to your 'Gravity' magic and every memory of it within the old timeline.
I know you probably hate me for this, but truthfully, I wanted to give you the one happy ending that none of us would ever have had so…enjoy your new life and goodbye.
Ignoring the blazing inferno around him, Eric stopped the recording being played on his Archive before restarting it once more, his rage & sorrow growing with every second that it played as he stared at the grinning icon of F. Eric on its front.
'Every fucking time I have one smidgen of happiness, the world decides to show me that it loves to fuck with me.' First, it was my mom surviving cancer only to get run over by a truck with malfunctioning bricks.
Then, it was my grandma & sister surviving a car accident only for them to die of organ failure as they were resting in the hospital.
Now, it's my friends and fiancée, all of us as happy as we could be only for my future counterpart to come back and put me at square one all over again.
'I should have killed myself. I should have fucking killed myself. At least that way, I wouldn't have survived this but no~ I just had to listen to my future self and looked where that brought me. Back to square fucking ONE!' Eric screamed in his mind as he gripped his hair, his ethernano surging and intensifying the flames even more before he growled as the flaming door opened.
"I told you, Toma. Fuck off!"
"Well, I'm thankful I'm not my father, then, or else I might be in trouble." A familiar voice spoke and Eric looked up before his eyes widened as he saw Hisui walking in with a soft smile, her eyes widening as the flames around her quickly disappeared.
"Hisui." Eric whispered, to which the Queen smiled as she walked closer, noting how the flames in & around her path dissipated as soon as she walked closer.
"I've never introduced myself to you, but I'm guessing you know me from a different timeline, don't you?" She spoke, smiling as he simply looked away while resting against the large flames behind him.
'He doesn't want to hurt me and from him using my name without a 'Princess' or 'Queen', we must have been close.'
"Please, I've already told your father this. Leave me alone."
"Of course, but can I ask something before I leave? If you don't want to answer, I'll leave." She spoke, to which Eric looked at her before sighing as he saw the curious smile on her face.
"Will you actually leave me alone if I say no?"
"No."
"Hah, one question."
"Which timeline are you from? The one with the ten thousand dragons or the one that's a year from now?"
"The one with millions of dragons inside it, though you won't have to worry about it. That timeline no longer exists."
"W-What?" Hisui asked, a cold chill running down her spine as Eric looked back at her and she saw the cold, dead look in his gaze.
"Yeah, I erased it entirely to make sure they didn't use the Eclipse Gate to come here. Unfortunately, I didn't die in the process so here I am, the lone survivor that should have been ripped apart in the process."
"I-I…I see. Well, I shall see you tomorrow."
"Whatever you say." He muttered as he watched her leave, making sure the flame didn't harm her before taking a shaky breath as he snuffed out the flames inside the room with a thought.
Watching in amusement as the Garou Knights, Arcadios and the royal family looked surprised to see his flames gone, the room shattered as flames shot out of his feet and sent him rocketing out into the sky.
'I need to go somewhere else. I…I need to fucking hit something.'
"Should we follow?" Arcadios asked Hisui as they watched Eric tearing through the sky as a blazing streak of light, to which Hisui smiled as she shook her head.
"No, I feel like doing so would just make everything worse. If he wants to, he will return, but if he doesn't, it's good to have him away from the city." She spoke as she watched him disappear behind the mountains, to which the Garou Knights & Arcadios nodded as they relaxed before they went to tell everyone to stand down.
"Do you believe he'll return, Hisui?" Toma asked as he looked in the direction Eric disappeared, to which his daughter hummed before smiling as she nodded.
"I have a feeling we'll be seeing him very soon."
"Well, you do love to see the good in people, even if they mislead you some time."
"Father~ I've already apologized for that."
A/N: And Eric has turned into an edgy man of darkness~
Nah, I'm just kidding. It's not going to be for long, but I just wanted to show that his logical mind has left the window and has been replaced by anguish & hatred.
Also, for those wondering why I removed his gravity magic, I didn't realize how OP it made him until I fully re-read the chapter with F. Eric and comprehended just how powerful it is, especially with it being one of the Four Fundamental Forces.
So, yeah, Eric is stuck with only his Hell Flame Dragon Slayer for now...hehe~
