When they say that what we want to see is something we can see but there is another part that we would like to hear. Talent regarding said auditory skills would pick up on what one person has to say. Whether it be someone's voice or the simple communication of piano keys of some's tune. It serves as communication for someone else. When all else fails we have the chance to communicate with our hands in the hope that someone can pick up when someone wishes to speak to us. Whether all the skills are needed, someone better be on the other side to speak to it.

It seemed to be that for one mother, her experience when it came to dealing with this has to be one of luck. She had walked forward and submitted the papers as she was sitting down with a consultant about her family situation. She wanted to know where her children were in life.

"Akemi Kimura, it seems that your two children are doing pretty well, your daughter has just gotten her job as a student teacher for a small school. I am glad to hear about that. To say that is to say that is impressive. Stephanie Kimura would need a couple more years of learning before she becomes a full fledged teacher. She will be living at the school for a while as she learns to be a proper teacher." The consultant began. He was impressed with how Akemi's child was turning out. He was speaking about his daughter Stephanie as Akemi smiled.

"It is impressive. She's able to communicate with my son in sign language, especially since we learned that my son had contracted scarlet fever when he was a baby and it took almost all of his hearing. I was worried about my son being completely deaf in both ears. We were hardly able to salvage the hearing in his right ear and he needs a hearing aid. Other than that, he's been completely fine." Akemi explained to the consultant about her son. The consultant then flipped the file over to the next one that was reading about her son.

"Toby Kimura, yes, talented pianist, wrote short pieces of music and submitted five pieces already, just like Stephanie, impressive." The consultant explained to Akemi about her son next.

"Yes I know, he's talented, all of them were submitted to Tatsuda Tsuginori when he visited, I was able to listen to some of his music. Don't know if a stage is set up for him. But I am getting ahead of myself." The consultant explained about what Toby Kimura was and how he was able to work his way through.

"Very good, I'm glad he has a few people able to listen to what he creates." Akemi explained as the consultant cut her off.

"But that's not what I am talking to you about. The reason I am telling you this is…" The consultant explained to Akemi about the situation.

"Is Toby failing his classes?" Akemi asked as she became worried for her son.

"Toby isn't failing, far from it. It's his school that failed." The consultant began. "His school has declared bankruptcy a while back and with declining student numbers, they decided to shutter their school and close their doors. Students are being relocated to other schools all over Japan and Toby is no exception."

"Where is he going?" Akemi asked the consultant if he had any ideas of where her children were heading off to.

"Same place as Stephanie, Yamaku Academy. When the news came, the staff were more than happy to take in another deaf student and another student who knows sign language. They are looking for people who know it and are willing to hire them as teachers. You managed to quickly find a home for your son." The consultant explained to Akemi.

"Yes I know, this would be for when he graduates and gets into university assuming he's going to university like Stephanie?" Akemi asked if her son was going to get accepted into higher education.

"Yes, This is only for him to ride out the final few months he has." The consultant told Akemi about this.

"Okay at least Toby is going to be okay." Akemi sighed. The consultant nodded before she felt her phone buzz, the consultant was putting away the files as Akemi began to speak. "Akira, yes I am on my way, I had to do something for my son and I should be there in a few minutes. Okay. Now I will give you a rundown on what you need to do when I get there." Akemi explained to Akira about what was going to happen. Akemi picked up the files and left, carrying them to her car. She unlocked it and opened the door, putting the files inside. Getting into her car, she decided to make the drive to where Akira was. She was still thinking about her son, she grabbed a photo of him looking so happy after ranking in the local pianist tournament with his hearing aid in his right ear. Toby seemed to have brown hair that was fluffy and blue eyes. His sister Stephanie was similar but her eyes had a slight twist of green in them as her hair ended in two pigtails. She was more than pleased as their mother Akemi was on the right. Starting the car up, she drove off. "I hope he's going to be okay with the arrangements."

Two weeks later

Katawa Shoujo- Breathlessly

Toby's old school was located in Kumamoto, very far south of where the family normally lived. He had been taken in after they found out for his love for music and his abilities to communicate. For Toby however, he had spent the last few hours contemplating where he was going to go now, his last day at the shuttered school was yesterday and the students were busy getting everything moved. He was among the last students to leave as he was busy helping others get everything sorted and cleaned. The adults there were also going to be looking for places to work as Toby strolled into the empty parking lot. His stuff was packed and was already being moved out. Toby was mostly waiting by the side of the curb for the bus to pick him up. He was busy on his phone with a two way text going on between him, his mom and another student.

Did you get what school you're going to Nina?

Not sure Kimura, my parents didn't tell me anything about it but they said they were going to take me to the music place on 22nd corner, it's right next to the art gallery which I am taking a break in before I continue on to the school I'm being transferred to. Sae Saionji was talking to me about art but I can't draw that well due to "Sticky Fingers." Man my hands hurt at times as they seem to go numb when I use them too much. That's why I'm heading to that school.

You should have taken me with you and how is Mr. Tsuginori doing?

Sae says he's doing fine but he looks forward to you coming over for a visit to give you some piano tricks. He says he's also looking forward to you publishing more music. You hadn't submitted anything in three months.

Sorry, everything got hectic and the school had been shuttered. The last few days were too much and I just wanted someone to cuddle up with. You seem to be the best but you left so quickly and I didn't get the chance to text back to you until now.

I know, I can't wait to see you again if we are going to the same school. I need a break, my left hand is starting to bother me again. See you.

Toby looked up from his phone. He saw that the bus had pulled up and it was going to take him to the school that he knew was the great unknown. He was looking forward to seeing Nina again, who knows, they'll end up in the same classroom together? Toby took a seat and decided to stare out the window.

"Will I say to myself someday?" Toby asked himself. He placed his bag into the storage above as the bus pulled away. Toby took one last glance of the school as he was passing by as it was being boarded up by construction workers. This was the last time he was going to be in Kumamoto. The drive to where Toby needed to go was only an hour but he tried his best to think of something. He opened his notebook to his music notes and where he composed little bits here and there. He was surely going to miss the chance of being close to Nina. Maybe that chance would come again, anything was possible.

Toby got to the station where the train was going to take him, it was pretty late and he was definitely going to be riding the late night service to the station that his school was. It was probably going to be a long ride to get there. Toby knew that he was going to be having a late night sleep if it meant trying to get where he needed to go. Little did he know that someone had arranged his pick up for him and sent someone over to scoop him up.

"I can definitely see that someone has decided to come. Am I looking for a Kimura? Wahaha!" The voice called out to him. Toby looked to see the girl had bright pink hair in twin-tails in drills, matched by a pair of gold eyes and a smile that stretched across her face. She was by herself and had no one with her.

Katawa Shoujo- Ease

"Who are you?" Toby asked while making some gestures to see if the girl could understand him. The girl lifted her finger for a moment and began making some signs of her own. She could understand Toby quite well.

"I'm Misha if that is what you want to call me." Misha explained. She smiled before looking at Toby. "Who are you?"

"Toby." Toby replied before spelling out his name. Misha smiled at Toby before she began speaking.

"Yeah I got your name, you match the description. Someone told me to pick you up and head to Yamaku. That is where your new school is." Misha explained.

"All passengers heading from Kumamoto to Sendai, the train has pulled in for the 20:35 departure time, the train will be leaving in fifteen minutes." The announcement speakers told the people at the station.

"That's us." Misha told Toby. The two of them headed to the train as Misha presented the tickets, after getting scanned, the two of them boarded the train and headed to their room on the train. Misha had gotten a sleeper for them to travel on as it was going to be a long journey during the night. Hopefully they can arrive tomorrow and get to their first class on time. Misha and Toby placed their belongings down as the two of them decided it would be wise to get ready for bed. Misha had bought the shower cards with the trip as well as some games to keep them entertained. They had a couple hours to wind down so might as well get to know each other.

The train was making its way to Sendai as Misha and Toby had cleaned themselves off and were dressed in their nightwear. They were both chatting away their experiences.

"Wow Toby, I never knew that you were that famous back at your old school. I think Yamaku would find some fresh talent, especially with all of the new students we're getting, we're getting I think five new students. You're definitely one of them since we're already a pretty small school." Misha explained as she was more than pleased to have a student like Toby attending Yamaku. "Five is still a lot."

"So why did you go to Yamaku?" Toby asked Misha if she was disabled like him. Misha smiled before she began speaking.

"Wahaha! I don't have a disability, I was transferred as part of a project due to my skills as a translator. Since the student council president is both deaf and mute, she needs someone to help her, that's when I was called in. Even though the project has long passed, I'm staying to use my skills to help others. I never knew we're getting another deaf student to Yamaku. Shicchan will be excited to have you in the student council." Misha explained how she was first transferred to Yamaku.

"How very kind of you. You plan on becoming a teacher when you grow up? My sister is going to Yamaku as a student teacher." Toby asked Misha if she was pursuing something such as helping others as that is something Misha liked to do. Misha paused as she began to think about it for a moment, education? Misha was wondering about his older sister for a moment before she remembered something. It popped into her head like a light bulb.

"Oh yeah, Stephanie Kimura. I bumped into her this morning while going out for a walk with Shicchan and she told either one of us to come to get you in Kumamoto. It turns out you're going to see her." Misha explained to Toby about what was going on.

"Me? See Stephanie? I haven't seen her in ages, how is she doing?" Toby explained with excitement. Misha gave a warm smile and she began speaking.

"She's doing good and she said she is excited to see you." Misha explained to Toby.

"Okay, tell Stephanie I'm on my way back to you, I just wonder if I can make it to school on time and have something to eat." Toby explained to Misha. Misha began to think about it.

"I have a few things that I brought with me that can hold us over tomorrow morning." Misha explained to Toby. Misha opened her mouth with a yawn as if she was tired. "It's best we get some sleep, we have to catch the bus that will bring us to Yamaku tomorrow morning." Misha explained. Toby nodded before it was lights out for the both of them, pulling the covers over, they fell asleep. The gentle rocking of the train put them both to sleep. Toby was still thinking about Nina and if the two of them were going to see each other again. The place she stopped was right next to the music studio he went to go submit his work.

"Good night." Toby explained.

Katawa Shoujo- Air Guitar

Toby and Misha woke up the next morning as the train was almost to the station, having no time to lose, the two of them packed their belongings up and decided to get ready. Once the train pulled in, they got off with the two of them walking to catch the bus.

"It shouldn't be too far away, the bus ride will be twenty minutes, we should have a few minutes to spare for us to get to the school and get you accustomed." Misha explained. Toby seemed to give a nod as they began to make their way to the school. "This is your first time being in Yamaku?"

"I guess so, not surprised why I was going here, my mother Akemi didn't tell me about this other than the train station." Toby did his best to explain. Misha smiled, raising her hand and speaking

"I guess she wanted to surprise you. You like surprises right?" Misha asked Toby if this was what he liked, being told nothing in advance and expecting the rewards for when they do show up. Toby seemed to give an awkward nod and began to speak, unsure of what to say.

"Yeah I do." Toby awkwardly told Misha. Misha gave a smile before laughing again.

"Wahaha! You might as well meet me and the class rep if we aren't busy, we can teach you to play some games." Misha explained to Toby. She seemed to be enthusiastic about what she could learn from him.

"What games?" Toby asked.

"You'll find out when we get there. You have told me about the music lessons you take and how you are skilled with the piano. Who supported you in this endeavor?" Misha asked Toby if he had an answer.

"Akemi did, even though I tried my best to communicate with her through the piano. Feeling those keys under my fingers felt so smooth and polished. Akemi taught me how to play it and my father Daniel…. Well… he's always abroad so when he heard some of my performances, he seemed to be proud of me. I haven't seen my dad in almost a year but I know he's proud of me." Toby explained to Misha about his family. Misha decided to think about it for a moment.

"Your dad is a very busy man. I respect it from a person like you. My parents sure are happy when they hear about the things I've done." Misha told Toby about what her family though the details remained vague to say the least. There was more to Misha that Toby needed to figure out.

"Thanks." Toby replied. The bus came to a stop, Misha looked around to see where they were. It was their stop.

"Okay, we're here. We still have a few minutes to spare, let's make the hike there." Misha told Toby. Misha decided to get off the bus first with Toby following behind. It seemed to be clear that she was leading him to Yamaku. Toby was being dragged along by an eager Misha who was very excited to get to where she was going. This didn't stop them from continuing the conversation. The two of them approached the gates of Yamaku. Excited to begin anew. "Well… here we are." Toby looked at the welcoming gate of Yamaku, red bricks, black wrought iron and gray plaster was the school entrance to him. He seemed to be curious about it.

"Is there a password to get inside?" Toby asked Misha if they were able to get inside. Misha looked at Toby and laughed.

"Wahaha! The gate is already open, we have ten minutes before class begins so I don't want to dilly dally you." Misha explained to Toby. They walked into the school as the two of them began to look around. The school was full of greenery, it seemed that plants were coming in and summer was only a few short weeks away. For Toby, he seemed to enjoy the greenery.

"What's your favorite color, mine is yellowish green." Toby spoke to Misha as they continued to walk along.

"I like pink just fine, it's the color I used to dye my hair." Misha explained to Toby. They entered the building as Misha was looking around. They didn't know that someone was following behind them. A lady dressed in her work uniform looked behind as she was going to take over from there. "I need to get going, it was nice talking to you and maybe we can bump into each other again and bring Shicchan along with me to get you introduced to her." Misha explained before she left. This left Toby alone as the girl began to speak, she was excited to see him.

"Oh my… Toby?" She said that she seemed excited to see him.

"Hi Stephanie." Toby greeted her.

"Toby! I haven't seen you since graduation, I was wondering what brought you to Yamaku." Stephanie told Toby before hugging her little brother. She seemed to smile at the news of seeing him.

"I was transferred over." Toby explained.

"Great, now we can see each other everyday!" Stephanie explained to Toby that she was delighted to see him again. Once the hug was over, she decided to bring him to the room where he was going to change into his uniform. The uniform for boys was green pants with a white shirt and black tie. It seemed to be different to the other uniform he was accustomed to. "How do you like it?"

"Green and white with a small amount of black. Seems to be more colorful than the all black and gray I was wearing back at my old school." Toby explained. It wasn't much color, the only thing standing out was the green.

"I'm sure you'll get used to it. Classes end early and start a bit earlier than normal. At least you aren't out for nearly fifteen hundred hours like in the last school." Stephanie explained as she was going to have to work around the new schedule.

"At least it's not an extra class or classes being forty five minutes a day, why is it being cut down by ten? I'm not complaining." Toby explained to Stephanie, he was more or less used to the old schedule.

"Not to stress everyone out, five minute breaks between classes, twenty minutes for a break between your third and fourth classes, lunch for an hour, one more class after that and then you're out at one. You have to get up early as a trade off to all of this but hey, more free time and more time to do your homework." Stephanie explained to Toby.

"Well I can get used to this new schedule." Toby explained to Stephanie. Stephanie seemed to give a smile to her brother.

"It's easy to follow. Now that you have everything set up, I should leave to do my job even though I wish to help you out by adjusting to this new school." Stephanie explained to Toby. She looked at her brother before hugging him one more time.

"Take care Stephanie." Toby explained. Stephanie nodded before walking off to her class. Toby was wondering what his new class was going to be 3-8. That seemed to be odd for the class. Toby decided to go off looking for this place. After a couple of minutes walking around, he spotted what seemed to be 3-8 and approached it. He was stopped by the lady at the door. She looked like she was in her early fifties, blonde hair to her shoulders, a pair of glasses and seemed to make her dark brown eyes bigger.

"Oh who are you? I have never seen you before." She began. She looked at Toby curiously and wondered who he was. Toby said nothing and handed her his transfer papers. She grabbed them and began to read them over. "Toby Kimura, well… I wasn't expecting someone like you to be here. Well glad to have you. I'm Tanimoto Nanao, I'll be your music teacher." Tanimoto explained to Toby.

"Nice to meet you, looks like we can go inside." Toby seemed to explain to Tanimoto. She nodded when her friend said that he was going to be welcomed into the classroom. She opened the door and decided to let Toby inside to have him take a look around with the other students. The other students of 3-8 seemed curious about Toby, who was he? Is he going to be interesting? The girl with the black pigtails, blue eyes and a large brown fluffy hat on her desk. She seemed to think that someone was looking cute.

"Sorry for being a little late, I was talking to a new student that just arrived. Why don't we give a warm welcome to Toby Kimura?" Tanimoto told the classroom. Everyone seemed to not clap except for that one girl who seemed to be more or less interested in him.

"Oh uh… thanks… I guess." Toby tried his best to speak.

"Find a place to take a seat, we have a few things we need to get through." Tanimoto explained. Toby decided to take a seat in the only empty seat left in the classroom. Toby sat down as Tanimoto explained what the students knew about what was going on and to recap what they learned last week.

Katawa Shoujo- School Days

"Toby, I haven't seen you in weeks, I was wondering where you were." The girl seemed to know his name by heart almost as if she wanted to figure out her friend. She seemed cute with those rather adorable blue eyes.

"Did you know I was coming here?" Toby asked her as if she was enjoying her time here and if she knew he was transferring to Yamaku.

"I forgot to tell you I was coming here. The people said they are willing to help me try something to help relieve some of the pain in my hands." She explained to Toby.

"Nina, I see you're chatting with the new kid. You two know each other?" Tanimoto asked if Nina knew a thing or two about Toby.

"I do, we used to go to our old school together and we were in the same music club. Until the school closed down and now we're here." Nina explained to Tanimoto. Tanimoto gave a small smile.

"Wow, I didn't know I've got two talented students in this classroom. So are you able to play your instrument?" Tanimoto asked Nina if she was able to keep playing.

"Not really, my hands and fingers aren't the best at that. They have been hurting before I got here. I'm not sure what I can do with them." Nina tried her best to explain.

"That's a shame, hopefully we can find something to help you out with that. All my students deserve a fair chance." Tanimoto explained to Nina. Nina seemed to give a smile to her teacher but she was curious about what exactly was next for her. "I would like to ask if we can help out with your hands?"

"She would be more than happy to have that help. Maybe we can recreate one of our pieces of music that we wrote in our old school?" Toby spoke on Nina's behalf.

"I would enjoy that once we get everything settled down. Now let's see if we can practice for today and see where that takes us." Tanimoto explained with a smile. She seemed to be excited to hear about what she had Toby say. The class would go on with the students getting into their small groups to figure out what lessons they were going to teach each other how to play their instruments. Toby and Nina were the only odd ones out as they didn't have an instrument to play with. Tanimoto began to think of how to make the two of them more involved in the small classroom. Before she could think of anything, the bell rang telling the students that the first period was done and they would need to go to their next. "Well keep practicing your instruments and I will see you all tomorrow morning." The students nodded before picking up their belongings and headed out of the classroom. Nina nodded to Toby that she will try to see him again and decided to head down to the second period of class. Toby entered the room when he was stopped by someone.

"Wahaha! Excited to see me again Toby?" Misha asked. She was wondering about what was going on. Toby looked to see who was trailing her, a girl with short blue hair and glasses. She eyed Toby, he must've been cute.

Who could she be?

[A/N]: Sorry for not writing anything in three months, I felt pretty tired after what was going on, I was busy planning for stories that fell through and just taking a break as I thought I needed a rest. Fortunately, I had the Shizune story being thought of and lined up and I had this idea that I wanted to do Shizune next out of the five main girls.

Also the visual novel came out on Steam so this made me go play it and naturally Shizune came first since I just wanted to get her out of the way. Now I will say that the route reminds me of my own family and friends which is the reason I kind of like it but she isn't like the other girls due to the fact that… not a lot happens. There will be route combining like always between this and another route much like the last two fanfics I've been doing.

Anyways I'm rambling on about what I've been up to and hopefully this can gain attention for me to do more. Sorry for being away for so long. Goodbye.
