Thirty years ago, the ABYSS—a monstrous entity of despair—suddenly appeared, laying waste to the royal city and claiming millions of lives. In a heroic act of sacrifice, Celestia, the Saintess of Light, gave her own life to seal away the ABYSS. This event became known as the Catastrophe.
The Catastrophe devastated nearly the entire royal family and nobility, leading to the collapse of the monarchy. In its place, the surviving citizens elected representatives, transforming society into a council-based system.
Meanwhile, the Church of Enigma, a society of sorcerers, is advancing a plan to capture Clara's soul and artificially reincarnate her. At the same time, in the underworld, a powerful criminal organization known as Shadowbane continues to grow in strength.
1. The Great Catastrophe
It happened thirty years ago. One day, a clear blue sky was suddenly swallowed by dark clouds. The people of the royal city sensed something was wrong and looked up. In that instant, a massive pillar of light descended from the heavens, shaking the ground with a deafening roar, and then an explosion followed. The ABYSS—a mysterious and unknown threat—had launched an assault on the city.
In the blink of an eye, the streets of the royal city were engulfed in flames. Grand castles and historic buildings crumbled one by one, and the once-beautiful city transformed into a wasteland of rubble. The air filled with the panicked screams of people running for their lives and the hollow cries of those who had lost loved ones. Thick smoke and searing heat blurred all vision, turning everything into a dark red haze.
The royal family and nobles had no time to escape, falling one after another. Across the city, lives were snuffed out, and on that day, millions of people met their end. The royal city was left in ruins, and the survivors were overwhelmed with terror and despair.
Then, Celestia, the Saintess of Light, quietly rose to her feet. Resolving to sacrifice her life, she summoned every ounce of her power to cast a mighty sealing spell. A brilliant light spread from her, halting the ABYSS's onslaught. Gradually, her body was enveloped by the light, and with a calm expression, she faded away.
Through Clara's sacrifice, the city regained a temporary peace. Yet, the remnants of shattered buildings, mountains of debris, and countless fallen lives remained. In the hearts of the people, deep sorrow and scars were etched. Finding hope for the future would not be easy.
2.The Transformation of Society
With most of the royal family and nobility lost, the monarchy's central authority was effectively obliterated, plunging the nation into a state of paralysis. The surviving citizens, struggling amid the chaos, fought desperately to secure the essentials for survival—food, water, and medical supplies were scarce, and law and order had collapsed.
In time, however, people began to rise up. Trusted individuals in each region stepped forward as representatives, organizing relief efforts and drafting recovery plans for the remaining survivors. These representatives gathered together, resolving to establish a new council-based political system.
Under this council system, decisions were made swiftly, and reconstruction efforts steadily progressed. Bit by bit, the royal city embarked on the road to recovery. With the introduction of new technologies and the strategic use of magic, infrastructure repair and housing reconstruction accelerated.
Yet, amid this progress, the power vacuum gave rise to an expanding underworld. Criminal organizations grew bolder, and violent incidents became increasingly common. Worsening security, poverty, and the plight of orphans contributed to a bleak atmosphere, as despair and lawlessness spread among society's most vulnerable. 3.The Encounter of Alessandra and Giancarlo
Alessandra, the last princess of the royal family, barely escaped from the ruins of the royal palace. She had lost her family, her maids, and her home, leaving her devastated with grief, yet she knew she had no choice but to move forward to survive. Her once-elegant dress was stained with mud and dust, and her arms and legs were covered in cuts and bruises.
After wandering for days, Alessandra found herself in the underworld—the shadowed, lawless side of the royal city. It was a dangerous place, overrun by outlaws, a place she never would have entered in her previous life. Now, hiding in the back alleys, she fought desperately to survive.

4.The Death of Alessandra and the Birth of Roy
After parting with Giancarlo, Alessandra found refuge alone in a corner of the underworld. She had realized she was carrying Giancarlo's child and resolved to live on, determined to bring this new life into the world and nurture it.
However, the harsh environment, lack of proper nutrition, and her already fragile health took a toll on her body, which grew weaker by the day. Yet, Alessandra fought to survive for the sake of her unborn child.
In time, she gave birth to a baby boy. She named him "Roy" and held him close, feeling an unbreakable bond of love. In Roy's eyes, she saw a spark of strong will, just like Giancarlo's.
But Alessandra's life was short-lived. She passed away quietly while Roy was still very young. Now an orphan, Roy was forced to survive in the ruthless world of the underworld.
To endure the harshness of this life, Roy gathered other orphans like himself and became their leader. He soon added Nicholas, known for his physical strength, and Eugene, valued for his intelligence and connections, to his group, forming a team they called "Nexus."
5.Enigma's Plan
Meanwhile, the sorcerer's church, Enigma, was quietly working in secret. They had captured Clara's soul on the day of the Great Catastrophe and, over fifteen years, preserved it through a special spell, advancing a plan to reincarnate her as a new Celestia. Their goal was to create a human weapon capable of countering the ABYSS should it ever reappear.
Enigma's high-ranking sorcerers managed the plan with extreme secrecy, ensuring no information reached outsiders. However, a powerful sorcerer within the church named Sylvester uncovered their scheme. As a young apprentice, Sylvester had witnessed Clara sacrificing her life to save the world—and had himself been saved by her.
In her final moments, Clara had told Sylvester, "Carry on life's thread, and witness the future." Her words left a lasting imprint on his soul, giving him purpose and the resolve to fight. Now, understanding the cruel plan that aimed to exploit Clara's soul, Sylvester resolved to put a stop to Enigma's scheme.
6.Rescue of the Infant
Fifteen years passed, and Enigma finally set its plan for Celestia's artificial reincarnation into motion. Under tight security, a ritual was conducted to implant Clara's soul into an infant. That child was named "Tria."
The church kept a close watch over Tria, preparing her to be raised as a human weapon against the ABYSS. She was isolated in a special facility, entirely cut off from the outside world.
Seeing this situation unfold, Sylvester knew there was little time left. He sought the help of his former apprentice and trusted ally, Maximus, along with Maximus's wife, Cassidy. They ran an orphanage dedicated to helping children who had lost their families and had been quietly making preparations with Sylvester to hide Tria.
Under the cover of night, Sylvester slipped into the facility where Tria was held. Evading the guards, he took the infant Tria into his arms and made his escape from the church. Pursuers were close behind as he ran desperately through the darkness.
The cold night wind stung his face as he held Tria tightly, focused solely on protecting her. Behind him, he could hear the footsteps of the guards and see flashes of attack spells in pursuit, but he never stopped running.
7.Escape and Protection
When Sylvester finally reached Maximus's orphanage, Maximus and his wife, Cassidy, were ready and waiting for their arrival. They welcomed Sylvester and Tria into a warm, safe room.
Tria slept peacefully as Maximus and Cassidy gently held her, promising to keep her safe. Sylvester entrusted Tria's future to them, and they committed to raising her as part of their family, providing her with an environment where she could live freely.
