Chapter 1

The Wildlands

Magic works in mysterious ways. Sometimes there is some pattern to its working and most of the time not so much. And when it interacts with the nature, the magic and nature brings into existence what is known as The Wildlands. These Wildlands are few and they appear anywhere and stays there for more than a thousand year. A hypothesis is that a new Wildland appears when and old wildland has substantially been explored or it can be said that a new Wildland introduces a fresh inflow of magic in the world. These wildlands are essentially a nexus of magic between whom the ley lines come into existence. These wildlands strengthens some old ley lines and often creates new ley lines.

The appearance of these ley lines cannot be predicted and that is how the current dilemma of a young wizard has come to be. The 15000 thousand acres of land which is the wizard's family estate has become an entrance to a new Wildland. This estate belongs to the Potter family and the wizard is James Potter. James Potter is the new head of the Potter family. His parents have recently passed away after contracting Dragon pox. And now when the war between the dark lord Voldemorte and the Ministry of Magic is at its peak, when James need the formidable protection of Potter Manor, the appearance of wildland and its entrance through Potter estate has complicated the situation for him. After thorough discussions with the Minister of Magic, head of Dept. of Regulation of Magical Creatures and Dept. of Magical Law Enforcement, James has decided to abandon the estate for indefinite future. Furthermore after fierce argument with the portrait of his parents and ancestors, all the valuable items of the have been stored in a heavily magically reenforced multi-compartment trunk. The trunk has been stored in the 3 storied basement of the manor. The formidable ward has also been reconfigured to protect only the basements. The entirety of the estate has been sealed by the Ministry of magic and James Potter. James Potter will soon go into hiding in Godric cottage at Godric Hollows, an another property of Potter family that was gifted to James and Lily after their marriage by Fleamont and Euphemia Potter, parents of James Potter.

The Second Chance

The battle of Hogwarts has just concluded. A lot many good witches and wizard are dead. Kingsley Shacklebolt gathered few of his colleagues and left for the Ministry building. After meeting with Hermione and the Weasleys, Harry Potter went to Gryfindor dormitory and slept for when he opened his eyes, he was back in the etherial King's cross station.

There was someone waiting for him. And that was his mother – Lily Potter. Harry immediately rushed to his mother and hugged her al the while he was naked. At his mother's nudging, he finally wore his clothes.

Lily said, "Harry my dear son, I am so glad that you have come this far and have finally vanquished that foul existence that was Voldemort, but your journey could have been much better than what you had to undergo. You made mistakes and some were made for you. I am simply relieved that you succeeded when you have been so crippled to succeed."

"I don't understand how am I crippled. I understand that I have committed mistakes, showing mercy to Peter but certainly I am not crippled."

"Your scar was leeching significant amount of your magic and failed to takeover you only because of the ancient protection working around you and mind seal. When we died, Dumbledore put upon you mind seal and magic seal. Of course, he was trying for mind block and magic block but unfortunately, slightest of mistake and you get seal instead of block. To put block on magic is common because it protects the child from getting hurt by the magic that child performs on mere instinct. Dumbledore bungled things up and ended up connecting your mind seal with the magic seal. That's why when he tried to do away with your magic seal, he realised his mistake yet couldn't do anything about it. And now the reason you are here is because you are dying from inside because the magic seal which is still there inside you has been slowly poisoning. Even if the seal is removed now, you will still die."

"I understand I suppose but its all over now. I am with you and soon with all and everyone who died because of me. I will be with my parents. I have no regrets."

"Harry you should not give up so easily. It hurts to see your eagerness to die than to live. Your time has not yet come. The higher powers have decreed to send you back in time to do better. The world needs help and you will be their agent."

"Do it all over again. No I don't want to do it."

"There is no escaping it. They have decided. And to give you perspective, they have decided to merge your soul with that of Jon Snow."

"Who is Jon Snow. And why the need of this soul merging. Why have you agreed to this."

"First of all, no one was given choice in this matter. Neither you nor Jon Snow. Besides soul of Jon Snow is your need. You have been carrying an extra soul which has caused irreversible damage to your own soul which necessitates the soul merging. Why Jon Snow I don't know. Guess you will get to know after the merging."

Suddenly the light in the King's cross station started fading. Then Lily said, "Try to give this your best shot. Interact with Jon Snow and cooperate with him. Try to understand him. And above all, do try to discover your family heritage. The Potter family is more than just your parents. Take care son. Love you. Enjoy you life."

And then there was darkness.
