Chapter 06: "What's Going On"

In the hours following the Tunes and the Winx setting up their new plan, Plucky was busy walking to his locker to get his books for the next class of the day. Eventually, Bugs and Daffy happened to appear out of the blue, and Plucky waved to them normally, not even noticing anything different about them. However, once Plucky became aware of the helmets adorned on their heads, he proceeded to run away from the mind-controlled Tunes, hoping to prevent an impending disaster until Bugs and Daffy blocked the doors.

"Where do you think you're going, you tank-clad upstart?" Daffy asked in an intimidating tone.

Plucky was left stunned by his mentor's comments as he said in a nervous tone, "Now, wait a minute, Daffy, it's me! Y'know, your protégé, Plucky Duck! You've got to snap out of it! The Trix are literally controlling your mind with those crazy helmets on your heads."

Surprised to know that Plucky had pieced together the plot so quickly, the Trix became shocked by this development, then Icy quickly reached for the microphone and said, "Bugs, Daffy, that little duck knows too much! Quick, destroy him before he warns the Winx!"

Once the command got through to Bugs and Daffy, their eyes quickly turned red as they slowly walked up to Plucky and said together in a robotic, yet menacing tone, "Destroy the green duck."

As Plucky proceeded to back away from Bugs and Daffy, he cried out for mercy, saying, "Guys, please! You don't have to do this! You have to fight off their control!"

When Bugs and Daffy produced laser guns from out of nowhere, they began to charge as Plucky just looked up at them with puppy-dog eyes, then he turned to the audience with just one simple word: "Mother…"

Meanwhile, the Winx and the Tunes were busy conversing among themselves in the Looniversity cafeteria until they heard an explosion and a scream of "AAAHHH!". With that, everyone quickly rushed out of the cafeteria to figure out what was going on until they all stopped to see Plucky Duck in a state of shock, covered in soot. Bloom quickly knelt down to Plucky's level and asked, "Plucky, what happened to you?"

Plucky was still left in the same state of shock until he quickly composed himself and said, "Well, Bloom, don't take this the wrong way, but… Bugs and Daffy happened to me…"

While the Winx and the other Tunes were left in confusion, Plucky stood up straight and dusted the soot off of himself as he explained, "You see, I noticed that those two were wearing those weirdo helmets on their heads, but I didn't stress about it at first until I became aware of what was really going on. I was trying to get the heck out of dodge, hopefully to warn you guys, but they stopped me in my tracks and blasted me with those laser guns that Marvin the Martian would've had in arsenal. I knew that those two wouldn't have done that without any malicious influence, so I was left to assume that the Trix must've finally gotten into their minds!"

The Winx and the Tunes all gasped in shock as Buster palmed his fist into his hand, saying, "Of course! I should've known that something screwy was going on around here."

"Well, Buster, what are we going to do?" Babs said. "If the Trix have already gotten to some of our mentors, that means that we'll be caught in their crosshairs next!"

"I wouldn't worry about that, Babs," Buster said in a reassuring tone. "Besides, we don't even know if the Trix had done anything to the other Looney Tunes, for that matter. I mean, I have a feeling that we would've known something if they were caught under their control as well."

Buster's comments seemed to spark Bloom's investigative senses as she was about to leave the room to find out the fate of the rest of the Looney Tunes, but this seemed to catch the attention of Lola Bunny, who quickly stopped Bloom as she said, "Bloom, wait! Where are you going?"

"Don't worry, Lola," Bloom said in a reassuring tone. "I was just going to find the rest of the Tunes. Knowing how energetic they are, I'm sure that they found a way to get out of the Trix's clutches."

Stella then walked up to Bloom as she said, "But, Bloom, you don't know that, for sure."

"Yeah, if the Trix managed to get the Warners under their control, who knows what else could happen?" Plucky said.

"Guys, don't worry, I promise that I will be fine," Bloom said with a smile.

"But, Bloom—" Buster began to say before he was silenced by a kiss on the cheek from Bloom, who said in response, "Don't worry, I'll be fine."

As Bloom went out into the hallways of the Looniversity, Buster could only say to himself, "Please be careful, Bloom. I just hope that what you are saying is true…"

While Bloom was making her way through the halls of ACME Loo, she could only hope that the Warners would still be those same happy-go-lucky Toons that she and her friends first encountered when they landed in Looney Tune Land. However, once she did catch sight of Yakko, Wakko and Dot, she was worried that they would've fallen under the Trix's control. Luckily, the Warners were still their normal selves as Yakko looked up at Bloom and said, "Y'know, Bloom, I think that your detective skills could use some work."

Bloom then gave a sigh of relief as she said, "Oh, thank goodness, it's just you guys."

The Warners were confused by Bloom's reaction as Wakko asked, "Uh, Bloom, are you okay?"

"Is something strange going on around here?" Dot asked, inquisitively raising an eyebrow.

"Well… to be honest, guys, the Looney Tunes are currently under the control of the Trix," Bloom explained to the Warners, much to their shock. "I was trying to make sure that the others were caught under their control so severely, but it is a good thing that you three are still safe."

"Well, far be it from us to be caught in the middle of a rather shocking situatiion, but I just want to know how the Trix managed to capture the Tunes so effectively," Yakko said.

"Maybe they took advantage of all the activity that was happening earlier," Wakko said without skipping a beat. "I mean, it wouldn't be the first time."

As the Warners decided to help out in the search of the other Looney Tunes, Bloom found herself coming face-to-face with Sylvester and Tweety, both of whom had menacing looks on their faces. Bloom was left in shock to see both Tunes, particularly her connected Looney Tune, being so willing to cause her harm on orders of the Trix. Bloom did her best to back away from them as she pleaded, "Guys, wait! It's me, Bloom!"

"Must destroy Bloom," Sylvester and Tweety both said in a menacing tone, carrying a bag of lightning bolts that were supercharged to their fullest degree.

Sylvester proceeded to pull out once of the ACME-brand lightning bolts, charging it up to the fullest, much to Bloom's surprise as a tear came from her eye as she tried to break them out of the Trix's control, saying, "Sylvester, Tweety, please! You both have to break out of the Trix's control! They are trying to turn you all against us!"

However, her efforts proved futile as Sylvester proceeded to throw one of the lightning bolts at Bloom, who proceeded to react in pain as the lightning bolt in question shocked her, leaving her to fall to the ground and twitch in pain. Sylvester and Tweety could only look at Bloom for a moment, then they wordlessly left the scene.

Meanwhile, while the rest of the Winx and the Tunes were hanging out in one of the classrooms, Buster and Babs overheard cries of pain outside, leaving the two bunnies to quickly rush out of the room to see what the commotion was outside. Soon, they came to see that Bloom was on the ground in agonizing pain, trying her best to fight back tears.

"Bloom!" Buster said in a surprised tone as he and Babs knelt down to her level, then added, "What happened to you?"

Bloom tried her best to fight through the pain as she said to Buster and Babs, fighting back tears, "Sylvester and Tweety, they… they shocked me with lightning bolts."

Buster and Babs could only look on in shock as Babs said, "Sounds like this is getting more intense than any of us thought."

"You're telling me, Babs," Buster said. "What about the other Looney Tunes? Are they also under the Trix's control?"

"I don't know, for certain, Buster, but we do need to take Bloom to the nurse quickly!" Babs said as she and Buster picked up Bloom to carry out to the school nurse. "Hopefully, Granny will know what to do."

Moments later, Buster and Babs got Bloom to the Looniversity clinic where Granny was busy taking care of housekeeping items in the nurse office. Upon looking at the state Bloom was in, Granny was shocked and hit with a pang of sympathy as she said, "Oh, the poor dearie… how did she end up like this?"

"Well, to be honest, Sylvester and Tweety did it, but it was only because they were under the control of the Trix," Buster explained. "You see, they were wearing those mind-control helmets on their heads where the Trix would send them messages from ACME Labs, so they could carry out their bidding."

"Oh, dear, I should've known that this would've happened if the Trix had gotten their way," Granny said as she carried Bloom to the examination table, lying her down as she tried to nurse her back to health.

"Thanks, Granny," Babs said with a smile as she and Buster proceeded to leave the office as they proceeded to look for the other Looney Tunes, saying to Buster, "Come on, Buster, we've gotta go find the others!"

After leaving the nurse's office, Babs and Buster searched for the other Looney Tunes until they happened to find Marvin the Martian and Pepé Le Pew near the Looniversity entrance. As both Marvin and Pepé turned to look at the two bunnies, Buster and Babs stopped dead in their tracks, covering their eyes as they prepared for the worst.

However, they were surprised when they heard Marvin say in a normal voice, "Buster, Babs, why are you two covering your eyes?"

Buster and Babs were stunned for a minute, then they heard Pepé add, "Surely, you two don't think that we are still under the Trix's control, do you?"

"Marvin! Pepé!" Buster and Babs both said in surprise with smiles on their faces, then Babs said, "How did you two manage to get rid of those helmets? We thought you two still would've been affected like how the other Tunes were."

"Well, Wile E. managed to find a way to bypass the control of the Trix by allowing us to take off our helmets with ease," Marvin explained. "Of course, just as he was going to do the same for Bugs, Daffy, Sylvester and Tweety, the Trix had already dug their talons—metaphorically speaking—into their minds, allowing them to work under their bidding."

Babs could only sigh in response as she said, "Well, as good as it is to know that you three were able to avoid being stuck under the Trix's control, we could only wish that we got to you three sooner."

"What do you mean?" Marvin asked, confused by what Babs meant.

"Well, Bugs and Daffy got to Plucky, then Sylvester and Tweety got to Bloom," Buster said. "Well, actually, Plucky came out none worse for wear, just a little bit annoyed about the circumstances, but Bloom… well, she…"

Pepé walked up to Buster and gave him a reassuring pat on the back as he said, "Buster, don't worry, I understand what you are trying to say."

"Well, she ended up being hit by one of those lightning bolts that Sylvester had in his hands," Buster explained. "I guess that Stormy happened to supply them with a pack of those bolts before they came back to the Looniversity."

"Well, it's not too late to save the others!" Marvin said in a confident tone. "We've got to find Wile E. fast! I'm sure he'll know what to do!"

"Uh, guys?" Babs said to the others.

"Huh? Babs, what's wro—" Buster began to say until he saw that Bugs and Daffy were making their way towards them with menacing looks on their faces. Buster, Babs, Marvin and Pepé backed up slowly but surely as the two Tunes made their way towards them until Stella and Layla came in at the nick of time and knocked them out.

"Wow, thanks, ladies!" Buster said with a smile.

"No problem," Layla said as she used her Morphix to take the helmet off of Bugs' head while Stella used her own abilities to take Daffy's helmet off of his head.

"Bugs? Bugs, are you okay? It's me, Layla!" Layla said in a concerned tone.

Bugs rubbed his head for a bit as he regained consciousness and said, "What happened?"

"You guys were under the Trix's mind control," Buster explained.

"We didn't hurt anyone, did we?" Bugs asked in a concerned tone.

"Well… you guys managed to blast Plucky with some laser guns, but he only took it as a minor inconvenience," Babs explained.

"Huh… well, that's Plucky for ya," Daffy said.

"However, it wasn't as bad as what Sylvester and Tweety did to Bloom," Buster said.

"What happened to Bloom?" Bugs asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Well, they ended up using some lightning bolts to shock her to submission," Babs said. "When Buster and I saw her, she looked like she was in so much pain."

Bugs was rather shocked to hear that the Trix could let Sylvester and Tweety do something like that to Bloom, knowing that Bloom and Sylvester became rather close in the time that they had gotten to know each other. Daffy noticed the shift in Bugs' mood when he became aware of the situation, but was unable to find the right words to reassure him in the moment. However, these thoughts were interrupted when Stella said, "Well, we don't have much time! We have to go find Bloom and make sure she's okay!"

Buster and Babs quickly took the lead as Babs said, "Follow us! She still might be in the nurse's office!"

Soon, they found themselves up at the school clinic, only to find that Bloom was fully rejuvenated, much to the surprise and joy of both Stella and Layla as both girls rushed up to Bloom and hugged her tightly, with Stella saying with tears in her eyes, "Oh, Bloom, I'm so glad that you're okay! You don't know how worried we were about you!"

Bloom could only giggle in response as she said, "Girls, don't worry, I told you that I would be fine."

"Yeah, but we were getting worried when you were gone for so long, especially when Buster and Babs left to look for you," Layla said with a smile.

Bugs and Daffy also walked up to Bloom, and she noticed that the two Tunes were back to their old selves, pulling them in for a hug as she said, "Oh, come here, you two! I'm so glad that you both are back to normal!"

"Well, not just us, Bloom," Bugs said, pointing towards Marvin and Pepé's direction. "Look over at the door."

Marvin and Pepé also walked towards Bloom as the latter asked, "How are you feeling, mademoiselle?"

"You look just as rejuvenated as ever, Bloom! How did you manage to get back to normal so fast?" Marvin said in a tone of amazement.

Bloom just gave a small smile as she said, "What can I say? You Tunes sure have some creative cures for getting someone back to normal."

"Well, what can we say? We've got one of the best caretakers in the world as our school nurse," Bugs said, winking an eye towards Granny, who gave a warm smile in response.

"Wait, what happened to Sylvester, Tweety and Wile E.?" Bloom said.

Buster was about to spur into action until he was stopped by Wile E. walking into the office, along with Flora, Tecna, Musa, Roxy, Sylvester, Tweety and Lola as he said, "Was anyone looking for a cat and a bird?"

"Wile E.! How did you manage to—" Bugs said before Wile E. said, "Well, we managed to stop them from going to ACME Labs and I was able to get into the helmet itself to turn off its connection to the Trix, then we were able to get them back to normal."

Sylvester walked up to Bloom, head down, as he said, "Uh, Bloom, I just wanted to say I'm sorry for what I had done to you. If you decide to not forgive me and want to cut off our friendship, I understand. I actually deserve it."

Much to Sylvester's surprise, Bloom knelt down to Sylvester's level and gave him a big hug, whispering, "Don't worry, Sylvester, it's okay. You were under the Trix's control; I know you really didn't want to do it."

Sylvester was surprised for a moment, then he reciprocated Bloom's hug as Tweety flew to Bloom and said, "Bwoom, I just want to apowogize as well. I just hope you could find it in your heart to forgive me as well."

"Oh, Tweety…" Bloom said with a smile as she then pat Tweety on the head.

As everyone was basking in the heartwarming atmosphere, Foghorn Leghorn randomly popped into the clinic as he said, "Bloom! Are you, I say, are you okay, girl?"

"Yes, Mr. Leghorn," Bloom said with a warm smile. "I'm fine now."

Foghorn gave a warm chuckle as the Southern fried rooster said, "That's the spirit, Bloom. That girl, I say, that girl's about as tough as a bucket full of nails without any milk."

Some light snickering occurred upon hearing Foghorn's simile as Bloom whispered to Bugs, "Did he just say, 'Tough as a bucket full of nails'?"

"Eh, I wouldn't worry about it too much, Bloom," Bugs said. "He does that all the time."

As everyone made their way back into the halls of the Looniversity, glad that the Tunes are finally out of the Trix's clutches, the Warners quickly caught up with them as Wakko said, "You know, guys, I would hate to be the one to break up this heartwarming scenario, but there's no time to lose now!"

"Yeah, we have to get up to ACME Labs and fast!" Dot said.

Everyone was confused by what Wakko and Dot were alluding to until Yakko added, "It seems like the Trix have caught Pinky and the Brain, and they are going to use them in their own plot to take over the world!"

"Well, hopefully, they won't use any mind control on them, will they?" Daffy said in a reassuring tone.

However, Daffy's hopes would quickly be dashed as Dot said, "Oh, and they mentioned that they are going to use mind control on the two mice."

Everyone could only glare at Daffy for his earlier comment as Bugs said, "You just had to open your big beak on that one, huh, Daff?"

Daffy was about to make a response, but he quickly stopped in his tracks as he said, "Touché…"

"Well, what are we waiting for? We have to get to ACME Labs and fast!" Buster said.

However, Bugs quickly took charge as he said, "Wait! We have to come up with a game plan before we step up to the Trix. I mean, we would look crazy if we just stepped up to the Trix without a plan in mind, wouldn't we?"

Soon, Bugs got everyone into a huddle and proceeded to explain his plan to the Winx and the Looney Tunes, hoping to prevent a worldwide takeover from the Trix, and to save Pinky and the Brain from their clutches.

A/N: Hey, there, folks! It's been a decade and some change since this story had a much-needed update, huh? I was intending to write the updated chapters to the original Looney Winx story in 2014, but I ended up getting sidetracked with schooling, personal events and setting up other stories in the intervening time that this ended up falling into the wayside, especially after creating the origin story for how the Looney Tunes and the Winx Club established their connections for the first time. However, while setting up plans for establishing the Dubbatastic Tooniverse, I came to realize how this story was left unfinished (despite originally being finished before I deleted the original last 3 chapters), so I decided to jump back in and bring back the last 3 chapters with some minor updates to them.

In keeping with the format of the original, the opening parts of the chapters will be kept in a simpler style like I had started out with, instead of the more-detailed approach in some of my recent stories.
