Chapter 7: New Beginning

When Dabi saw Midoriya chained down to the ground, he froze. He couldn't move, but he didn't know why. Was it fear? Was it anger? He didn't know.

Come on Dabi, snap out of it and call the League! The kids in trouble!

Quickly snapping out of his frozen like state, Dabi whipped his burner phone out and pulled up the contact for Shigaraki.

He quickly sent a text to the boss explaining the situation. Dabi told them to warp immediately because they would have to run for a while before they reached where he was.

Dabi knew it would be awhile before the League actually made it to where he was, so he wasn't sure what he should do.

He didn't know how quickly the betting for the kid would be, and he didn't know what would happen in between.

From where Dabi was crouching, it looked like Midoriya had been beaten half to death. He would be lucky if he woke up anytime soon.

Dabi guessed that Midoriya had been out of it for a while, and probably had no idea of what was going on.

Before he could continue towards the kids direction though, Dabi sensed someone behind him.

Quickly turning around, Dabi threw out his fire, hoping to quickly take care of whoever it was that had decided to sneak up on him.

When his fire dispersed, Dabi saw that his fire had indeed hit its target, and they were no longer conscious.

Dabi slowly got up, and cautiously walked towards his perpetrator in case something unexpected happened.

When nothing happened, Dabi reached down to see if he could identify who the person was. The one thing Dabi did notice was the snake-like emblem on the guy's jacket. That emblem meant that the guy he just torched was from the Vipers.

Just great, I torched one of the Vipers and they probably know I'm here. This is turning into one big mess.

Deciding to do what was best for right now, Dabi lit the guy on fire and turned him to ash. It was better if the guy couldn't go back to report to anyone.

Even if they knew he was here, there was a good chance they didn't know who exactly was here, and he would rather leave it that way for the time being.

Looking up, Dabi surveyed his surroundings, trying to see if there was anyone else left to ambush him.

After he was sure there was no one else stalking him, Dabi slowly slipped into the shadows to bring himself closer to the arena.

If Dabi could get closer to the arena, then he could see better what he was dealing with. He could also get a better view of the kid.

Dabi knew the kid had some sort of strength quirk, so it didn't make sense why he couldn't escape, so there must be something blocking him from doing so.

The only thing he could think of was that the Vipers had gotten their hands on a pair of the quirk blocking cuffs or bullets that were circling around in the black market.

If it was the bullets, Dabi didn't know that much about them. He had no idea how long it lasted, or how it affected the person hit by it.

It was best to avoid any gunshots in the vicinity so he didn't lose his quirk either. If Dabi also lost his quirk, he and the Midoriya brat would be royally screwed.

Once Dabi was closer, he was in fact able to see that the kid had quirk canceling cuffs on him. It also looked like the kid had been shot, so he might have been hit by the bullet too.

If that was the case, the kid probably wouldn't be using his quirk anytime soon.

Now that he was closer, Dabi could also see that there was a good number of gangs already present, even if their numbers were small.

It was going to get really hard to continue to hide himself as more people came, so he might have to out himself sooner than he wanted.

For now though, Dabi focused on staying as hidden as possible while he waited for the League to come and back him up.

Shigaraki was livid when he received the text from Dabi. He was barely able to muster up enough self restraint to stop himself from decaying the phone then and there.

Making haste, Shigaraki had quickly told the League about the situation, telling them to get everything they needed.

Once they were ready, they were all leaping through the portal and running across rooftops.

Everyone could definitely tell that it would take a little bit to get to the actual city, which meant it would take even longer to reach Dabi and the brat.

Shigaraki was furiously scratching at his neck to try and relieve some of his frustration, but all he could feel was the blood dripping down from where he scratched.

It was annoying Shigaraki that it would take so long to get to Dabi, especially since they had no idea when Dabi was going to be spotted.

When he was spotted, he would have a horde of gang members after him. One person vs. a plethora of gang members did not sound pleasing.

That's why it would be best to get there as quickly as possible so the League could take care of this whole situation.

No wonder Eraserhead had called the brat problem child, always getting attacked by villains. He was basically a trouble magnet at its finest. If Shigaraki didn't know the kid had a strength quirk, then he would think getting himself into trouble was his actual quirk.

"Hey Shiggy, are we gonna get to take out all of those gangs?"

"Depends what they do Toga, although, I'm not opposed to a little blood shed tonight"

"Yea! I've been dying to test out my new knives, and they'll make the perfect test subjects!"

She's crazy, Shigaraki thought.

After this mission was over, they would never be kidnapping anyone ever again. If it continued to go along like this kidnapping, they would all eventually die from gaining gray hairs.

"Oi Kurogiri, make a tether point in the middle of the city when we get there"

"As you wish Tomura Shigaraki"

This incident sparked the idea in Shigaraki's mind that it wouldn't be so bad to have tether points in random places. Yeah, precautionary measures. Hopefully we won't need them though.

Finally reaching the city, the League all jumped off of the rooftops and started heading towards the center on the ground.

It was a good thing there was a lot of rubble around, made it easier to see things ahead of them. That was a blessing since they didn't technically know where the center was, they were just running towards the most put together part of the city.

It was probably a stupid idea, but the League didn't have time to complain when their comrade was facing trouble alone.

They would also rather that they be the ones that win Midoriya instead of any of the gangs. They did have questions that needed to be answered, after all.

15 minutes later

When the League reached the center of the city, they did not like what they found.

In the center of the city, Dabi was fighting off hordes of the gang members that tried to get anywhere near the Midoriya kid.

Dabi looked exhausted, and the kid wasn't faring any better in his restraints. It would only be a little while longer before Dabi ran out of stamina and collapsed.

Taking this into account, the League rushed into battle.

In the midst of the battlefield, you could see people decaying left and right, people being stabbed to death, people getting compressed, and so on.

Shigaraki was beelining towards the center of the arena, trying to make it towards Dabi and the kid before Dabi passed out.

Toga was zipping around the battlefield, cutting down anyone that came across her path. She was easily able to outmaneuver them and stab them in vital areas.

Compress and Magne were working as a team. Magne would pull people towards them while Mr. Compress compressed them into his marbles. They would make most use out of the hostages at a later date.

Spinner was currently fighting a sword battle with one of the gang leaders.

Kurogiri was standing by to make sure nobody escaped the massacre. He was also standing by in case he needed to teleport any of his allies out of the battlefield as well.

Twice was following Shigaraki towards the center with a clone of Dabi. The Dabi clone was mercilessly torching anyone that was dumb enough to try and get in their way.

Safe to say the battlefield was a mess, and there were mini battles going on in every corner. The League was heavily outmatched, but that didn't stop them. They were all powerful in their own right, and when it came to one of their own, they were even stronger.

Bodies were dropping left and right with no sign of stopping.

Shigaraki was most definitely doing most of the damage though, considering that he only had to touch a person once and they would start decaying.

That was why Shigaraki was able to make it to the center very quickly. It was a good thing he got there when he did though because Dabi collapsed soon after.

He was still conscious, but he had most definitely overused his quirk to try and survive. It probably didn't fare well with his body either considering his quirk burns him.

"Yo Dabi, you better not go dying on us now"

"Who..the..hell...do you..think you're..talking to...crusty, I ain't..dying yet"

"You did good, we'll take care of the rest"

"Great. I'm just..gonna lay here..for a sec"

Shigaraki turned around to see Dabi in fact lay himself down on the ground.

Eh whatever, he deserves it, Shigaraki thought.

Soon enough Twice had reached the center as well, following behind a clone of Dabi that he had made.

Shigaraki looked around the battlefield to see that most of the gangs had been wiped out, and that there weren't that many people left.

Feeling excited, Shigaraki yelled out,

"Oi guys! How about we take out the trash!"

"Hell yeah!"

"With pleasure"

"Already planned on it"

"Let's go. So boring."

"Trash indeed"

And from the ground, Dabi let out a simple, 'woo'

That night was bound to stick to the League's memories for the rest of their lives, for the specific reason that it was the start of…

The League's new beginning.
