A/N – This chapter is what earns the Unhinged Hyuuga Hinata tag. When your boss takes you to the Forest of Death, pins you to the ground and calls you a good girl, this is not the reaction to have.

Happy for her though.

It was night, although Hinata couldn't appreciate the silence over the cacophony of her thoughts. She was laying in her bed, in her apartment, trying to make sense of the day she had had.

She had woken up in her bed, after sunset. Her sword belt and her hairstick were resting on the bedside table, next to a glass of water. Considering who she was with beforehand, it only made sense that Kakashi had brought her home after she had passed out.

Remembering her fainting led to remembering what had led to said fainting. She felt her face heat up again and quickly drank from the (refilled) glass of water on her bedside table. She hadn't fainted for years now, but the spar with Kakashi brought the troublesome habit back.

She rubbed her face to settle the blush and her head hit the pillow as she fell back.

She was seldom wrong when she felt with the Seishin-me, accidentally activated or not. It was a power she used to be insecure about, early in her life, but after years of experience and practice, she was sure that what she had felt was not a fabrication or illusion or any number of other trickeries he could have employed to catch her off guard, unexpected though it was. There were other ways to distract her that he could have used.

Hinata had used the Seishin-me on Kakashi before, which is why she had been quite sure she knew what to expect. Most of those times where quick glances while focusing on something else. The most notable had been the first time she had done so.

They had been on a mission, and she had been feeling restless. She had been working on exploring the Seishin-me, after so many years of considering it useless and a waste of time because of the Hyuuga's disdain for it (and their disdain for her, for having it).

She fought with herself for a while. They were on a mission and she didn't want to disturb anyone with her experimenting by waking them up with a false alarm. Kakashi was an elite shinobi and would know that she had activated it, but he wouldn't care (he would probably know before her if there were threats around). Kiba and Akamaru were both most likely deeply asleep and Shino would feel it, but would wait for her to bring it up.

But she was not going to learn how to best use her evolution if she kept worrying about potentially inconveniencing people.

She gave in and activated it.

She focused on Kiba and Akamaru.

Confusion. Running. Unawareness.

She couldn't help but giggle silently. It seems like they were dreaming about running again, which they seemed to do a lot, ironically. Shino stopped sharing tents with them because Kiba kept kicking him in his sleep.

She focused on Shino.

Calm. Resting, but sufficiently aware.

Normal, when they were on a mission.

She focused on Kakashi last.

Aware. Mild curiosity. Intense boredom.

Hinata yawned so hard her jaw hurt. How Kakashi could have been so bored when reading his... 'literature'... was beyond her, as was the understanding of why he was reading it if it didn't alleviate said boredom.

She felt sleep take over her, and, with another yawn, decided to follow its call. Her watch was a couple of hours before dawn, she had time.

The next morning Kakashi seemed... watchful. Like he was waiting for something. Hinata thought he might be expecting an ambush. Taking their cues from him, she, along with Shino, Kiba and Akamaru were on their guard as well. But nothing happened, and they returned to Konoha after a successful mission.

She had not thought much of it at the time. It was just another mission, and it did give her some confidence in continuing her experiments. It was only a few weeks later, during lunch at a cafe with the Rookie 12 kunoichi plus Temari and Karui, when Sakura was recounting stories about Team 7 trying to unmask their sensei, that she realised that she must have seen his face with the Byakugan, but couldn't recall it. She figured she was first so focused on the feelings she was getting and second on trying to keep her jaw from getting stuck yawning, that she didn't pay attention to what he looked like. Also, he most likely had his mask sealed against the Byakugan, since there was no gossip in the clan about what he looked like (at least, there hadn't been any before she was disowned).

It had not mattered at the time. She realised that it had happened again today. She was so busy trying to get a hold of herself and not do something incredibly wanton (like, Kami forbid, grinding back) that she, once again, did not pay any attention to what he looked like, which she was coming to regret now.

What Kakashi looked like was one of the greater mysteries of Konoha, and nearly all of the Rookie 12 had, at one time or another, joined Team 7 in unmasking him, to varying degrees of failure. She had always bowed out ('That seems... disrespectful'), along with Shikamaru ('Too troublesome') and, surprisingly, Lee ('I am afraid honour demands I do not participate in this endeavour, my good friends! Kakashi-sensei is Gai-sensei's esteemed rival, and as such, it must be Gai-sensei who has the privilege of unmasking him!' 'LEE!' 'GAI-SENSEI!')

She was now wondering whether she should have joined in as well (she knew she wouldn't have. If he wanted his face to remain hidden, that was his prerogative).

She had never felt this way before. Not for Kakashi, up until very recently (as in, today, a few hours ago). Not even for Naruto, for all she had had a huge crush on him for a good chunk of her life.

When Kakashi had been on top of her, she had wanted.

'Good girl'

She groaned and covered her face with her pillow. She needed to get a hold of herself.

She was a respectable kunoichi and regardless of what she wanted to do or wanted done to her she could not act in such a manner, losing sleep over Kakashi's hand on her neck, holding her down –

'Kami help me!'

She needed to make a decision.

What to do, what to do?

Kakashi was serious. He lusted for her, at the very least. The possessiveness made it unlikely that it would be just sex (even thinking about it made her dizzy, but it needed to be considered).

Should she reciprocate? Did she reciprocate? It was incomprehensible that Kakashi would feel... desire... for plain old Yuuhi Hinata. He was the Hokage, and even before that, he was one of the most desirable shinobi in Konoha. He could have anyone. And he had chosen her, although she was not entirely sure to what extent.

Hinata looked outside her bedroom window. It was around midnight. She had been trying to sleep for two hours and had failed miserably.

She rubbed her eyes to ease the strain. She needed to talk to someone about this.

Kurenai? No, Mirai had been sick the past couple of days. She had her hands full (she also wasn't sure she wanted Kurenai to be against the idea of her dating Kakashi, which told Hinata a lot).

Kiba and Shino? She would like to think they would be supportive, but, Kiba gets worked up easily and Shino is very sneaky. The chances of them running off to hunt Kakashi before she has explained everything is too high to risk it.

Neji? Absolutely not.

Hanabi?

Hmm.

_

"Aneki, you look terrible. Have you been sleeping properly?"

Hinata and Hanabi were sitting in her living room with take-out between them. The office was closed today, so she had asked Hanabi to meet her. Hanabi looked a little concerned, which always made Hinata want to assure her that everything was okay. However, this time she had no idea how to do so, or even if everything was okay.

She smiled. "I'm fine, Hanabi-chan. There was... something I was thinking about, that had me up at night."

Hanabi frowned, chewing slowly. "Something bad?"

"Not really." Hinata thought about it for a bit, taking a bite of chicken. "No, it's not."

Hanabi gestured for her to continue, mouth full of fried rice.

"I..." Hinata wondered how to put it into words. She was just realising that maybe telling her little sister about how she had liked her boss pinning her to the forest floor and calling her a good girl was not a good idea.

"You...?"

Hinata took a deep breath and fiddled with her earrings. She'll just have to censor it as she goes and hope she doesn't traumatize her sister.

"It has come to my attention..." That's a good way to start. Impersonal. Does not make it seem like she was ready and willing to have her first time in a forest, of all places. "... That Kakashi-sama might have, feelings... for me."

Hanabi's eyebrow climbed up her forehead. "Might?" She gestured towards her eyes.

Hinata blushed. "He does."

"That's my sister! Seducing the Hokage himself, I'm proud of you!"

"Hanabi!"

Hanabi leaned forward to smack Hinata's thigh and took a sip of her drink, then fell back into the couch.

"So, what's the problem?"

Hinata was silent for a moment, wondering how to put it. "I suppose... I suppose I just don't know if I should... do something about this?"

At Hinata's uncertain tone, Hanabi hummed questioningly and gestured for her to explain.

"I mean," Hinata attempted to elaborate. It was difficult, since the whole point of this conversation was to figure out what she was feeling. "I don't know, he's him, and I'm me, a-and the age difference. That's a concern, right?"

"First of all, you're great, so nip that thought in the bud. Secondly, do you think it is a concern? The age difference?" Hanabi asked easily. "Does he make uncomfortable or something?"

Hinata blushed fiercely and pushed her index fingers together. She cleared her throat. She opened her mouth to speak again, felt hot thinking back to what had happened, and stopped to take a few deep breaths. Eventually, she simply shook her head.

Hanabi was silent as she took in her flustered state. A few minutes passed, with both sisters eating, Hanabi staring at her the whole time, seemingly fascinated by something. After a while, she nodded to herself and spoke.

"Okay... Okay. Let's talk this out." Hanabi said, directing Hinata's attention to her.

"Let's assume you don't do anything and ignore whatever brought about this reaction." Hanabi's eyebrow went up and she gestured with her hand towards her. "Which we'll discuss in detail later. You ignore this situation, what happens then?"

Hinata gave it some thought.

It wouldn't work. Now that she knew what was happening, she wouldn't be able to turn a blind eye and ignore it, and she was sure Kakashi wouldn't let her either.

Does she want to ignore this? Her feelings and Kakashi's?

No. No she doesn't.

For better or for worse, Hinata wants to see where this will go.

"Ignoring wouldn't work."

"Well, then you know what you have to do." Hanabi said, grinning wide.

Hinata nodded with a smile. "Yes, I suppose I do."

Hanabi's grin widened to a terrifying degree. "Which, of course, brings us to the details."

"Absolutely not!"

A/N – Bonus conversation that definitely takes place sometime in the future:

Hinata: I'm sorry I didn't pay attention to your face, okay! I was busy!

Kakashi: What do you mean you were busy!? Busy doing what? Yawning!?

Hinata: Yes!

Kakashi: ...

Hinata: Kakashi-kun, I was using the Seishin-me! You were so bored it was putting me to sleep...

Kakashi: *realising he sabotaged himself* ...

Kakashi: And the second time?

Hinata: *blushing* Well...

Hinata: I was paying attention... to other things...

Kakashi: *proud and dismayed in equal measure*...

The reason the Hyuuga believed the Seishin-me was useless is because they're a bunch of jackasses who pride themselves on being unbothered by things like sentiment and feelings. So, the fact that Hinata can tell what people are feeling? is beyond useless to them. Hinata was also not very good at it in the beginning because:

No one was helping her practice.

She could feel the disdain they had for her, which is already not good for a child. Add to that them making it clear that her evolution was considered useless, and she just didn't use it to prevent herself from being bombarded by negative feelings all the time (even though the damage was already done).

By the way, she doesn't get lost in other people's feelings all the time. What happened last chapter was because she was expecting something else from Kakashi, feelings-wise, in the spar. If she was in battle or in an interrogation, she would prepare herself accordingly for whatever feelings she might get from her opponent.
