A/N: I know I said in a previous chapter that Tony and Angela met at Africa at 8:00 but than I realized that by now it is probably close to midnight. LOL

So I'm changing it to 6:00.

RING! RING!

"Maybe that's Dad or Angela." Sam said and picked the receiver up.

"Hello?"

"Hi Sam. It's Kathleen."

Sam shook her head at Mona and Jonathan.

"Hi Kathleen. How are you? I heard about your Aunt. How is she doing?"

"She's doing as well as can be expected. Thanks. Listen, I don't mean to be abrupt but can I talk to Tony?"

"UH, you want to talk to Dad?"

'Yes, why is there a problem?"

Sam laughed nervously. 'Uh, no not at all! It's just that he isn't here."

"He isn't? Where is he?"

"Ummm he's at the Library!"

'Really? At this time? Well it must be important then. I guess I'll call back tomorrow."

"Okay. Bye Kathleen."

"Bye Sam."

They hung up.

Sam walked over and collapsed on the couch.

"I hated lying to her. Especially considering all she is going through."

"I know you did. But really what choice did you have? Were you supposed to say: Well Kathleen my Dad is out chasing Angela because he told her that he loved her and your friend Linda slapped her across the face and soon you're going to be single because my Dad and Angela belong together.."

Sam held her hand up. "Okay, I get your point!"

"Grandma's right Sam. There wasn't much you could do."

"I know. So I guess we still keep on waiting."

All three stared at the phone willing it to ring….

########################################

Kathleen hung the phone up and sat back. Sam was certainly acting suspicious. But why? First of all, the Library closed early on Saturdays. So there was no way Tony would be there. So what was going on? She picked the phone back up and dialed another number.

"Hello?"

"Hi Linda. It's me."

"Hi Kathleen. How is your Aunt doing?"

"She's hanging in there. Thanks. Hey listen I need to talk to you about something."

"Okay. Shoot."

"Well, a few minutes ago I called to talk to Tony and Sam said he wasn't there. She said he was at the Library. But the Library closes early on Saturdays."

"So she lied to you."

"Yeah, and I don't know why. I mean we're not super close or anything but she has always been cordial to me. "

Linda sighed.

"What was that for? Do you know something?"

"Yeah, I do. Are you sitting down?"

"Yes. Why?"

"Because I have a lot to tell you…."

####################################

"You're right we do." Angela said softly.

"Yeah, but before we do I'm going to call home and tell them I found you." He got up and walked over to her jag and picked her car phone up and dialed home.

RING! RING!

"Maybe this is them!" Mona threw her hands in the air and picked the phone up.

"Hello?"

"Hey, it's me."

"Tony. Thank goodness. Did you find her?"

"I did and she's fine."

Mona breathed a sigh of relief and relayed the message to Sam and Jonathan.

"Yeah, so we'll be home in a while."

"Okay. Thanks for calling and letting us know. Oh and Tony?"

"Yeah?"

"Tell that darling daughter of mine that she is grounded!"

Tony chuckled. "I will. Bye Mona."

"Goodbye Tony."

They hung up and Tony went back to Angela and sat down beside her.

"Your Mother said to tell you that you're grounded."

Angela smiled but didn't say anything.

"Angela, why did you run away like that?"

'I know I shouldn't have. I was just so confused. And to tell you the truth I didn't quite believe it. I still don't."

"What? That I love you? Because it's the truth Angela. I do love you and yeah that wasn't how I was planning on telling you. It just slipped out because Linda was driving me crazy."

"So you just said it to shut her up?"

Tony shrugged. 'Yeah, I guess in a way I was."

"So, I was right then you don't love me."

"Angela!" He sighed. "Look, okay telling you like that in front of someone you don't know and I barely know probably wasn't the best idea but it's the truth. I love you. I love you with all my heart and I know we have some things to work on though."

"Yeah, like Andy and Kathleen."

"Yeah, and I was going to break up with her but before I could she told me about her Aunt and I knew I couldn't then. She was already devastated."

Angela nodded. " I can understand you not wanting to put any more pain on her."

"But, I am going to end things with her. It's not fair to keep stringing her along like this."

Angela didn't say anything. She just stared off into space remembering the last few hellish months:

Finding out that Tony and Kathleen had spent the night together.

Tony telling her he didn't know if it was over with her.

Telling him later that maybe they should broaden their horizons and explore their options even though it killed her

Telling him well lying to him about being tempted when she was at her conference. She had met a man there and while he was a nice guy there hadn't been any attraction whatsoever. She had enjoyed discussing business with him but that was as far as it had gone.

Being filled with glee when she saw Tony spying on her when she was out on a date with Christopher.

She gulped as she remembered in detail the next thing.

Coming home and finding Tony and Kathleen making out on her-their couch! She tried to play it off as something that wasn't a big deal. She had acted all nonchalant on the outside but on the inside she was devastated. How could he? That was the couch they sat on to watch movies together or reruns of Little House On The Prairie and there he was sucking face with the woman he had betrayed her with!

She clenched her fists up.

"Ummm Angela. Are you okay? You haven't said anything in a while and your face is all red. And not for nothing you're kind of holding your fists a little tightly."

She relaxed her fists and turned to him.

"Can, I ask you something?"

"Of course you can."

"If you loved me-love me like you say you do then why did you betray me?!"

########################################################

Kathleen sighed. "Okay, go on."

"Okay so earlier this evening I was at Africa and I saw Tony."

"All right. So what's wrong with that?"

"He wasn't alone. "

"He wasn't? Who was with him?"

"Angela."

"Angela? Oh I get it. It was probably a family dinner. Mona, Sam, and Jonathan were there too. Right? Right?!"

"No, they weren't. Tony and Angela were all alone and looking very cozy."

Kathleen closed her eyes and counted to ten. Maybe there was a perfectly innocent explanation. There had to be.

"So what happened?"

"Well I marched right over and asked him what the hell he was doing with her. I said you were going through a family crisis and here he was two timing you"

"Oh my God! You didn't!"

"I sure did! And I called Angela a tramp and asked her if she knew what was going on with you and your Aunt. She said that she did and I asked her if she thought she could just come in and steal Tony from you?"

'And what did she say?"

Linda smirked. "I didn't give her a chance to say anything. I called her a bitch and slapped her right across the face."

Kathleen gasped. "Oh my God! You did?!"

"I sure did! Listen no one betrays a friend of mine!"

"I appreciate that but Linda you probably only made things worse."

She heard her groan.

"Oh no. There's more isn't there?"

"Yes, there is."

Okay. I'm listening."

"Well Tony was all concerned about her. I mean all it was was a little slap and he was so doting." She rolled her eyes.

"I have a feeling there's more to it than that. Spill it!"

"Okay. Okay. So anyway Tony got all high and mighty and asked me: how dare I and that I had no right to do that. I said that I did because that bitch was making the moves on my friend's man and that I wasn't going to just sit back and let her."

"What did he say?"

"He said that I had it all wrong and that Angela was his best friend and if they wanted to have dinner together that was their business and that I don't own him and neither do you."

Kathleen felt her face getting warm.

"And?"

"And I asked him if he thought sneaking around behind your back was okay and he told me he didn't owe me any more explanations. I told him that he had a lot of nerve. I said the woman that he loved was going through a horrible and emotional time and here he was two timing you!"

Kathleen felt her stomach getting queasy.

"And? What else? He told you that yes of course he loved me but he was just having dinner with Angela because they are friends. Right?"

Linda shook her head even though Kathleen couldn't see her.

"Linda? Right?!"

"No, he didn't."

"What… what did he say?" She was almost afraid to find out.

"He said that the woman he loved wasn't going through a horrible and emotional time. He said that she was sitting right there."

"He said what? I'm sorry I must have heard you wrong. Or you misunderstood him."

"No, I didn't. I'm sorry Kathleen. Tony said that he loved Angela."

Kathleen felt a rage overcome her. Here she was worried sick over her Aunt and Tony was….He had….. And all behind her back! He had probably been thrilled when she went out of town so he could play house with Angela.

"THAT SON OF A BITCH!" she screamed.

"
