The Beginning
I am Brad, I am from the region of Manji from the town of Davison. Davison is where every trainer in the Manji region has to start their Pokémon adventure. The reason for this is the great mountain of Manji forms a shape like a tide that makes it completely impossible to pass without a Pokémon or an airplane. In the Manji region a trainer gets to choose between Bulbasaur, Squirtle or Charmander to start the great adventure around Manji. I have three goals in my life. First to be the head trainer at the Trainer Clubs. Second to be the champion over all of the Maji region. Last to complete the Pokédex by capturing every type of Pokémon and finding the power in each Pokémon. My love for Pokémon is rivaled by none, and I know that one day I will accomplish my goals of becoming the greatest trainer of all time.
Today is my tenth birthday which means that I can get my Pokémon license from Professor Cypress at the Pokémon lab in town. I start downstairs and hear my mother scream "HAPPY BIRTHDAY! You can finally go get your first Pokémon to start your journey. It feels like just yesterday you were a little kid dreaming about taking on the league." I respond the same way I always do when she is being nostalgic "MOOOOOOOM you are embarrassing me on my big day." She responds "Well with you leaving on your journey I won't get to embarrass you for much longer. Sit down and eat before you go to the professor's lab." She has made my favorite breakfast of all time eggs from a Chansey, bacon from a Tauros, and Oran berry juice. It must be one last farewell meal before my big adventure. She asks in a very kind manner "Well have you chose which Pokémon you want to be your starter yet?" I answer back "Yes ma'am I am going to chose Bulbasaur for my starter… because he is the first in the Pokédex." She stares at me intensely as if to say you are making some sort of mistake, and in a loving way says "Any other reason that you are going to choose Bulbasaur for your starter?" My answer comes back "Nope I just really want to start filling out the Pokédex where is a better place to start than the first one on the list?" She then says "Well if that is your decision, I will support you in it. Bulbasaur to the top baby!" It was at that moment that I could feel embarrassment creeping back in. "Hey mom I have finished my breakfast… I guess it is time for me to go." She looks me in the eyes and says "Yeat it is time for you to start your journey. I am going to miss you do not forget to call when you get to a new city. AND DO NOT FORGET TO WEAR YOUR SUNSCREEN! I got you this foldable bike to speed up your journey. You can easily carry it for when you are looking for Pokémon or ride it when you need to speed to the next town. Good luck on your journey. Love you Brad!"
With a good breakfast in my stomach, I sped off on my bike to Professor Cypress's lab. In matter of no time, I am there. I knock on the door, and a young bald man with a beard down to his chest answers the door. "Hello, I am Professor Cypress, and this is my lab. I train, study and live with the Pokémon that trainers catch when they are out on their journeys. You must be Brad I have already started an area for all of the Pokémon that I know that you will catch. Two more trainers have already come and gone today I believe they said that they were going to the Trainer Club. Now come with me this way." I look around this laboratory more Pokémon than anyone could ever imagine just everywhere. The walls were lined with books like "The Philosophical Needs of Alakzam" or "Botany with Bulbasaur". It was clear that Professor Cypress was an expert in a great number of Pokémon. Finally on the table was the choice of three Pokémon. It was one of the greatest choices of a young trainer's life. He said "I hope you have thought greatly about your choice. It will impact your future in more ways than one." I tell the Professor that I have chosen the Pokémon that I want and it is Bulbasaur. He declares "Oh Bulbasaur what a great choice most people chose Charmander or Squirtle for the looks of the Pokémon, or what power they foresee that they could have, but Bulbasaur is easy raise and can be quite powerful if trained right! Make sure Bulbasaur get a lot of sunlight because it is helpful in the process of photosynthesis. With the right amount of sunlight its attacks will get even stronger. Now here is your Pokédex with your Pokémon licenses, and five pokeballs with which you can catch more Pokémon. Now before you go out running in the wild I would suggest you stop by the Trainer's Club maybe you will se those two boys that I gave Pokémon." Brad says "Thank you Professor Cypress I will not let you down. I was planning on going to the Trainer Club and leveling up Bulbasaur before we go out in the wild anyways. Again, thank you for the Pokémon."
After I say thank you one last time. I declare "Alright we are going to be best of friends. Go Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur appears on the floor in front of me looking ready for the challenge, adventure, and truly greatly for finally being chosen. Bulbasaur says "Bulba Bulba" which Brad takes to mean that it is time for them to get going to the Trainer's Club. Bulbasaur rides on Brad's bike just looking glad to be free from the lab. The duo makes it to the Trainer's Club without any problem with a great itch to get in to their first battle.
When the duo first walk into the Trainer's Club they are greeted by a man "Hi my name is Scott I run this Trainer's Club for the League. It helps trainers grow in their ability with Pokémon I am here to mentor young trainers into top Pokémon Masters. Is this your first time in the Trainer's Club?" Brad replies "It actually is our first time in the Trainer Club. I have hopes to be a head trainer one day which means that I would ranked number on in the Trainer's Club Cup. I have never come in because I just got my first Pokémon." "Bulba" Bulbasaur intrudes. Scott explains "Oh well we are everything that a new trainer needs to grow. We have a mart that runs of our in house currency that works in every Trainers Club. How you get our in house currency is fighting in exhibition battles, ranked battles, and tournaments. We have the Pokémon Center in our facilities now so that we are really a one stop shop. With how we can heal Pokémon nowadays you can get multiple fights in one day. Which can get you our currency to get more Pokéballs to get you more Pokémon. Give me your Pokédex and I will get you into the rankings for the Trainer Clubs." Brad hands him the Pokédex and then sees that he is ranked trainer 10,000 in the Trainer Clubs Cup which is an abysmal ranking. Brad protest "REALLY trainer ten thousand? I have a long way to go I guess before I can become head trainer in the Cup." Scott replies "Yes you have a long way to go but if you want to improve your rank you can go to the terminal near the arena and pressed ranked match it will set you up with a trainer of similar level. Maybe you can move up a rank or two today." Brad exclaims "Thank you for all the help!" Then runs toward the terminal for his first match.
When Brad reaches the terminal, he presses ranked matches and one versus one since he only has one Pokémon. The terminal screams "Please insert your Pokédex." Brad inserts his Pokédex and is immediately paired with another trainer. The trainer is seen walking towards the terminal he is a pale boy with long hair in the front. "Hello, my name is Hayden it looks like you will be my first ranked match, and uh my first match started my journey today." Says the sheepish boy that approached the terminal. Brad responds "No way it is also my first day of my Pokémon journey as well. You must have gotten a Pokémon from Professor Cypress as well." Hayden joyously states "Yeah, I did get a Pokémon for Professor Cypress today. It is Squirtle but it has not leveled up enough to learn any water attacks yet." Brad sys "Ditto my Bulbasaur does not know any of the grass type moves either. This should be an interesting battle." Hayden responds "Well I do not know about that not exactly exciting just seeing people constantly use growl and tackle, but I guess we will have to use legitimate strategy to win this battle. My rank is nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine. So you might not move up very much if you win." Brad trying to stop laughing says "Well it beats my rank of ten thousandth spot." Hayden gives a look that says yikes I could be in last place if I lose. Hayden finally says, "Let's get started."
The officiating robot yells "This is a one on one battle between Hayden's Squirtle and Brad' Bulbasaur begin" As soon as the battle started Hayed commanded "Go tail whip, Squirtle" Immediately Bulbasaur's defense goes down. Brad screams "Bulbasaur growl" Now Squirtle's attacks would not be as effective. Hayden says "Squirtle use tackle" Brad orders "Dodge it Bulbasaur and use growl." Squirtle goes crashing towards the ground and its attack goes down again. Brad cries "Now Bulbasaur use tackle." Before Hayden could give an order the attack lands and hits Squirtle. After that Squirtle leaps to its feet and Bulbasaur is looking overconfident. Hayden screams "Do not think that you have won this that easy Squirtle use tail whip and then tackle." When Squirtle does tail whip Bulbasaur's defense goes down and then is taken by a tackle straight to the head. Which landed the critical hit. Bulbasaur was slow to get up but managed to get up from the attack. "Now Bulbasaur use tackle attack" The attack lands right in the middle of the shell on Squirtle. Knocking Squirtle back a good way. Something unexpected happened at that moment though Squirtle went into his shell because of the fall. Hayden joyously exclaims "That is withdraw Squirtle just learned a new move." Brad retorts with "Okay Bulbasaur use tackle." Hayden confidently yells "Use withdraw." Squirtle gets completely in its shell before Bulbasaur could land the hit, so Squirtle is unscathed. Hayden says, "Ha it worked we can defend from your attacks now might as well give up now." Brad yells "Use a growl tackle combo". It has no effect. The all of the sudden Brad has a idea. He yells "Hit Squirtle with tackle and spin it." Squirtle starts to spin out of control. Hayden screams "Use your body to get control." Brad cries "Now Bulbasaur hit him with a growl tackle combo." The unsteady Squirtle falls over. The officiant calls the match "Squirtle is unable to battle Bulbasaur is the winner what battle goes to Brad."
After the battle a screen came down from the ceiling declaring that Brad is now in nine thousand nine hundred ninety ninth spot. Whereas Hayden has been declared spot ten thousand. The two boys meet in the middle of the arena. Hayden says "That was a good match. I only wish I would have one my first match, but how many people actually do that. How much did you get paid for that fight? I got 100 Club Dollars." Brad says "I got 200 club dollars. You had me on the ropes for a second. When your Squirtle learned withdraw that was very cool." Their conversation was then interrupted by a boy with short red hair who very loudly states "Well boys that was one amazing battle. I would love to battle the both of you today if I could. I just started out today and figure you must be the guys that Professor Cypress gave the other two Pokémon too. I got Charmander I figured he would be good for camping and causing chaos. Also, you ever flown on the back of a Charizard… Me neither but I bet it is amazing so I got Charmander so I could try it out one day." The trio let's out a very big laugh and Hayden finally says, "I believe that the Pokémon center is over there." The group goes to the Pokémon Center and Nurse Joy kindly heals the two boys Pokémon in under a minute. Then the Brad said "I want to fight you first since I won the match." In response he said "I am Micheal I will win this match and don't you forget it." The three boys went up to the terminal and Michael and Brad both put their Pokédex in for a ranked match. It was clear who had gotten here first today because Michael's rank was nine thousand nine hundred ninety eight. Jokingly Michael said at least I won't be last place if I lose this match." He was looking at Hayden the entire time that he said that. Fortunately Hayden thought that it was quite funny as well and the boys took their spots for the battle to take place. Hayden sat down on the side lines ready to watch the match and come up with a plan to beat Micheal.
The robot officiant declared "This is a one on one battle between Michael's Charmander and Brad's Bulbasaur begin" At the very first moment both trainers yelled orders "Charmander use Scratch Bulbasaur use tackle." The tackle lands first it is clear that this is not Bulbasaur's first rodeo. It is his second. The scratch attack misses Bulbasaur altogether and Charmander falls over. Now Michael yells "Do growl then scratch." Before Brad has time to respond Charmander executes the moves perfectly doing some damage to Bulbasaur. Brad screams "do Growl and tackle" that also lands for very a moderate amount of damage. The Michael then yells "get close and use your tail to your advantage. Wrap it around and use scratch while he cannot get away." Charmander follows the order and gets really close to Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur begins to feel the heat that protrudes off of Charmander's tail. Brad knew what he had to do if Bulbasaur could not get out this battle would be over. Brad yelled "Bulbasaur use tackle on Charmander." Bulbasaur knocks his way out of Charmander's control, but not with out getting the bulb signed to cause a burning pain on his bulb. It was at that moment that Bulbasaur grew vines that came right out of his bulb. Brad screamed a cry that could be heard around the world. Bulbasaur had finally learned a grass move. No matter the outcome of this match they had grown as a team. Brad then orders "Bulbasaur use your vine whip around the legs of Charmander." This made Charmander eat dirt, and Bulbasaur relentlessly beat Charmander the vine whip. The problem being that Bulbasaur felt the burn on his bulb every single time that he moved. Charmander looked as if he was about to be defeated when his teeth started to glow yellow then red then orange. Charmander turned around and used ember on Bulbasaur. The pain almost got to Bulbasaur, but then Brad yelled "Grab the leg with your vine whip attack." Forcing Charmander to eat dirt one more time. After that Charmander finally fainted. "Charmander is unable to battle Bulbasaur wins the battle goes to Brad."
The television dropped and declared that Brad had gone up in the rankings, but Michael had gone down to Brad's spot. Michael walked up to Brad "That was good match I am glad that Charmander learned ember, and your Bulbasaur learned vine whip. Who would have thought that you could use a grass type move to defeat a fire type Pokémon. You might just be something special. Now it is time for my battle with Squirtle!" Hayden got excited that it was now his turn to battle Michael. Hayden asked, "Are you going to stay and watch our battle Brad?" brad Answered "Not today I think that I am going to head to the field outside of town to see if I cannot find more Pokémon. You two have fun."
The Field
When Brad finally made it to the field he started looking for any Pokémon that he could find. It took a long time to find that first Pokémon, but it was found in a field of Oran berries. It was a folk of Rattata they were trying to steal the Oran berries. A framer cried "Darn Rattata they are always trying to get my berries. Hey, you're a trainer can you get rid of the Rattata for me?" Brad replies "Sure thing mister I have been looking for some Pokémon to capture." At that moment Brad yelled "Go Bulbasaur! Use vine whip attack!" The first Rattata tried to jump on Bulbasaur from the side but got whipped down and wiped out. The second came for a direct attack to the head but to no avail. The third used a massive hyper fang attack on the rear of Bulbasaur. Which damaged him pretty badly, and left a mark for a short period of time. Then it got hit by the vine whip. That is when Brad threw a pokeballs at the one that used hyper fang. One beep two beep and caught. He would have stopped to enjoy the first time that he had caught a Pokémon but now was not the time because a Ratticate had just saw that Brad had beaten up his babies.
The Ratticate lunged forth with a quick attack that hit Bulbasaur and gave him some excruciating pain. The next attack was a hyper fang that connected and caught Bulbasaur off guard. Then while Bulbasaur was on the ropes Ratticate used tackle attack knocking Bulbasaur into tree. Brad screamed "No Bulbasaur I do not think that you can keep going." That is when Bulbasaur popped up and gave a od to Brad to say that he could still fight. It took revenge on the Ratticate by smacking it with vine whip across the face twice. Unfortunately, Ratticate started to use quick attack to make sure that Bulbasaur could not make another move. Normally a strategy like that would work but at that very moment Bulbasaur started to shoot the greenest of leaves at Ratticate. The quick attack did not hit Bulbasaur. Brad was overjoyed that Bulbasaur learned Razor Leaf. Now once Ratticate knew that quick attack was not going to work he tried a tackle attack. Bulbasaur dodged the attack with ease and used razor leaf again. Finally, the Ratticate wailed in agony that is when a Sandshrew came into the fight. It was trying to help its friend not knowing that it was fighting a grass type Pokémon. Sandshrew used fury swipes to get a lot of little damage on Bulbasaur quick. Then as fast as the Sandshrew could he thew sand in Bulbasaur's eyes in a devastating sand attack. Unable to see the Ratticate and the Sandshrew attacked Bulbasaur. Ratticate used tackle while Sandshrew used scratch. In a wild frenzy Bulbasaur used Razor Leaf. All of the leaves were going ever where, and it was major mess that could get someone hurt. Fortunately for Brad the ones that got hurt where Sandshrew and Ratticate. Both of them falling down and becoming unable to battle after this frenzy of razor leaf. At the end of the battle Brad threw a Poke ball at the Sandshrew. One beep two beep and caught.
After that something surprising happened the farmer caught the Rattata and the Ratticate to use on the farm. His thought was that he could use them to keep away other Pokémon. Finally, he asked "So sonny why is you around these part anyways you on your Pokémon journey?" Brad answered, "Yer sir I am trying to catch Pokémon to help me on that journey and fill the Pokédex." The farmer exclaimed "Oh you want to catch some wild Pokémon I will show you where you can catch two other Pokémon. Just consider it a thank you for helping me out with those Rattata. How about we go to the house rest and I will show you where to go."
After a short rest at the farmer's house. Brad called out Rattata. "Hey, Rattata, you are my new Pokémon the first one I ever caught I am glad to meet you." Rattata looked a Brad with mutual respect. The farmer then ushered Brad to the end of his field. The farmer said "Look two Pokémon that evolve really fast are known to live around here. They might help you in the Trainer's Cup ranking. They can definitely help you out with the gym leader in Davison. He is a bug type trainer and having two bugs might help you mount a defense against him. You see right there a horde of Weedle and a horde of Caterpie. Brad sent out Sandshrew to get him some experience in battle. Sandshrew used a fury swipe attack that took out all five of the Weedle in one go. One beep two beep and caught. Brad got one Weedle. Then Rattata was summoned and used tackle five times on all the different Caterpie. One beep two beep and caught. Then Brad caught one Caterpie, and his total five Pokémon caught.
Now after a short rest and all the Pokémon were feeling better a random trainer stumbled on Brad, and the farmer. The trainer declared "You are a trainer that means that we need to battle!" At that Brad confirmed that he is a trainer and would be more than happy to battle this total stranger. The Stanger said "fair warning I like bug Pokémon they are easy to train an evolve. Today they will be your doom. Let's make it a double battle!"
With that Brad and the stranger sent out the same Pokémon of Weedle and Caterpie. This battle was surely to be the most forgettable fight of the age. The stranger's Weedle started out with poison sting attack that hit Caterpie hard. Then Brad's Weedle returned fire to that Weedle with a poison sting attack of his own. The difference is that the enemy Weedle started to look purple. After that the enemy Caterpie used tackle on Weedle. The attack seemed to be all based on Weedle for some reason. So, while the enemy Pokémon were not looking Caterpie covered them in string shot attack. That meant that they would be significantly slower than their two counter parts. Which made Weedle give them a significant amount of Poison sting attack. They both were looking a bit purple but no like they wanted to give up. So the enemy Caterpie used tackle but missed by a long shot. While Caterpie was dodging the tackle though it got hit by the enemy's poison sting attack. The enemy Caterpie once again used tackle and missed but then out of the blue fainted. Weedle attacked the enemy Weedle with another poison sting which was enough to take him out. The stranger returned both of his Pokémon. He replaced them with Kakuna and Metapod. This battle was going to be super hard because they were the evolutions of Caterpie and Weedle. The stranger declared "I just got these Pokémon they wil be your downfall." It was at that moment both of the enemy Pokémon used harden. Caterpie and Kakuna both attacked it seemed like their attacks did not do much. Then the enemy pair used harden. Then Weedle and Caterpie used string shot. Then the enemy pair used harden. Then Weedle and Caterpie attacked the attack on Kakuna from Caterpie was useless, but Metapod started turning purple. Then the enemy pair used harden. Brad had a idea and yelled "hit them together!" Caterpie and Weedle used string shot and hit the enemy pair together knocking out Metapod. The stranger replace it with Butterfree. Then Kakuna used Harden. Weedle started to bombard Butterfree with poison sting attack while Caterpie hit it with Kakuna. Then Kakuna used harden. After that both Kakuna and Butterfree fell and were unable to battle. The stranger yelled "This is my last Pokémon fortunately it is my ace. Go Beedrill." The Beedrill started with a dance of Twineedle attacks all our duo of Pokémon could do was dodge. Then they both started to use string shot attack on Beedrill white stingers. The both proceed to jump into the air and over Beedrill. Making both of his stingers knock him in the head with a massive Twineedle attack. Which is super effective on a bug type. The Beedrill proceed to attack with a Rage attack powered up with his pure anger at being humiliated. Fortunately for our duo the anger made Beedrill miss more time than he hit. Weedle got a poison sting directly to the thorax of the Beedrill. Then Caterpie landed a tackle attack on Beedrill as well. Beedrill was knocked back. The light behind it eyes went from red to black and the battle was over. Immediately after the battle the duo started to glow and evolved into Kakuna and Metapod. The stranger yelled "That is what is all about your Pokémon evolved." Now that the battle was over the company all rested and Brad decided to go back to Davison before it got dark the first day of being a trainer and already, he had filled out seven Pokédex entries.
The Tournament
It was the second day of my journey. I am at the Trainer's Club in Davison. I get ready and Scott welcomes warmly with breakfast for me and all the other trainers. Scott says "Did you hear that there are 15 trainers that want to have a tournament? I wanted you to be the last remember to compete it would go along way for you to being the best. Everyone that is fighting in the tournament is low level beginner trainers so you could move up the rankings." Brad responded with "I bet that would help me with my skills with fighting different trainers. It would be a perfect way to power up for the Gym leader in town." Scott says "Well that is a great idea! I bet you would learn a lot go put your Pokédex in that slot over there, and you can register for the tournament." Brad enters the tournament with high expectations to learn about battles.
The trainers get randomized in the group of 16. Then Scott brought out a big spinning wheel that would decide what kind of battle the competitors would be having each time. For the first match it was Brad versus a kid with a thunderbolt on his shirt. Scott spins the wheel to decide what kind of match that it would be. A one-on-one Pokémon battle with three Pokémon each. The kid screamed out "This battle is going to shock you! Go Pikachu!" Brad uses Sandshrew. Pikachu immediately uses iron tail. While Sandshrew counters with fury swipes avoiding multiple iron tail assaults. It was at the moment the kid had Pikachu attack with a devasting thunderbolt attack. It would have been the end of most normal Pokémon, but it did not affect Sandshrew because he is a ground type. Seeing this Pikachu used growl to lower the attack of Pikachu. Sandshrew then used fury swipes hitting Pikachu for a low amount of damage five times. Then Pikachu uses Quick Attack for very little damage. Then Sandshrew uses fury swipes. The fury swipes pushed Pikachu into a corner. Pikachu then popped with his tail and hit Sandshrew hard to get out of the corner. Then while the Pikachu was in the air from jumping out of the corner. Sandshrew uses fury swipes hitting Pikachu three times. Pikachu falling energy beaten he barely makes it back up, and uses another iron tail attack. Sandshrew used a normal scratch attack to block the attack from doing damage, and a scratch from the other paw that knocks out Pikachu. Then the kid screamed "You are not going to shut me out of this battle go Voltorb." Voltorb immediately used a self-destruct attack. It was at that moment that Sandshrew started to burrow into the ground. It was apparent that Sandshrew learned dig attack. The boy cried "NO FAIR. MY VOLTORB'S ATTACKED MISSED. My last Pokémon is Magnemite. My ace in the hole." At that moment Magnemite used sonic boom which took a shocking amount of damage out of Sandshrew. Then while Magnemite was sending another sonic boom Sandshrew used dig attack burrowing underground with great speed. When dig attack hit it was apparent that Magnemite did not have the levitate ability because Magnemite took maximum damage. The light on the front of the Magnemite goes out and Magnemite is unable to fight. The referee declares that Brad is the winner. Like that Brad was in the second round of the tournament. Brad went to heal his Pokémon and in no time, it was time for the next battle of the tournament.
The wheel spins for Brad's second battle it lands on double battle with four Pokémon. The trainer that fought against Brad this time looked very young. He used a combo of Pidgey and Rattata. Brad decide on his only evolved Pokémon Metapod and Kakuna. Brad's duo starts off with harden. The enemy used a double tackle that did very little damage. Then Brad's duo used harden again, and again, and again. They then attacked Pidgey with a covering of String Shot attack. It significantly slowed down Pidgey. Then Rattata attacked Pidgey with its sharp teeth to release Pidgey from the string shot attack. Then the Rattata attacked Metapod, but it was the opposite of what the trainer wanted. The reason being that Rattata hurt it teeth on the super hard Metapod. With a close shot the Rattata was covered in string shot. At the same time Kakuna covered Pidgey all except for the wings. Rattata attacked with tackle and Kakuna flew Pidgey like a kite straight into Rattata to stop the attack. Then Metapod and Kakuna used harden again and again and again. When Rattata used Quick Attack the Metapod did not budge. It was worse for Pidgey though because it broke a wing trying to use Wing attack on Kakuna. With Pidgey stuck on the ground and Rattata already hurt from the multiple attacks Metapod used tackle attack on Rattata, and Kakuna used poison sting on Pidgey. The enemies Pokémon were not looking good. Pidgey started looking purple, and Rattata was weak. Finally Pidgey falls down and is counted out of the battle. Then Rattata fell out of the battle when Metapod pushed it over with a tackle attack. The young kid screams "I just caught these two Pokémon go Magikarp and Abra. We are going to Splash our way to victory." Brad, doing all that he could do no to laugh at his opponent, ordered his Pokémon to attack. Metapod and Kakuna tried to attack Abra at the same time. The problem was that Abra just kept teleporting away from the attacks. Magikarp was furiously splashing around on the land. The duo started to attack with poison sting, and tackle. Since the two had strengthened their defense the tackle attack was like rocks punching you every time the attack hit. Then the Magikarp suddenly lit up and evolved into Gyardos. Gyardos went in for a bite attack but it unfortunately was like biting rocks. He could not take down Metapod and Kakuna. The Metapod used tackle while Kakuna shot Poison sting directly into Gyardos' mouth. The Gyardos fell and was counted out of the battle. When the Gyardos was counted out Metapod and Kakuna both split open with a great light. Both of the duo evolved at the same time the fearsome duo off Beedrill and Buterfree. At that moment Abra stopped in its place. It seemed off as if it could not move, but brad did not know why this was the case. Once he checked the Pokédex it was clear that Buterfree used Confusion on Abra. Then Beedrill's drills started to glow green and attacked Abra with them. It was clear that this was Beedrill's Twineedle attack. After the Twineedle attack was finished Abra fell to the floor and was counted out the battle was won by Brad. Brad had made it to the semifinals in the tournament it was if someone was watching after him, and giving him armor.
In the semifinal battle it was against a boy that looked like he was ready to go to the mountains. The wheel spun and it decided to have a one on one with three Pokémon each. Brad summoned his Bulbasaur. While the hiker boy summoned his Geodude. So now Geodude used mud slap it lands on Bulbasaur then Bulbasaur tried to use razor leaf but missed the attack. Bulbasaur regain its sight and then hits Geodude with multiple Vine Whip attacks. Then Geodude tries to hit with a mega punch, but Bulbasaur skillfully dodged the attack. Then Geodude used Bulldoze but Bulbasaur dug its feet in the ground and stopped the Geodude's attack. Then it hit Geodude with a devastating razor leaf attack. The Geodude put its fist up and trying to minimalize the damage that it takes. Bulbasaur takes its vine whip and grabs bot of Geodude's arm to take down Geodude's defense. Then while holding Geodude's arms uses tackle attack to knock out Geodude. The next Pokémon that the hiker boy used is Sandshrew. Sandshrew started off with Rollout attack. Every time that it hit Bulbasaur it felt like the damage would get more intense. Not knowing what to do Bulbasaur shot a Razor leaf attack at the spinning Pokémon it barely did any damage to it. Then Brad had an idea "Make some trenches with Vine whip." Bulbasaur went to work hitting the ground making trenches all around him. Sure enough as soon as Sandshrew hit one it went flying high in the air and that is when Bulbasaur used razor leaf attack. Making Sandshrew fall and become knocked out of the battle. His last Pokémon was a Onix the Onix started to do a bind attack but Bulbasaur hit it first with a razor leaf. Onix countered with a rock throw to attack from a distance. Bulbasaur inched forward to Onix and grabbed him at the bottom with vine whip. Bulbasaur proceed to climb the Onix and got to the head of the Onix. At the head of the Onix a barrage of Vine whip attacks happened making the Onix collapse and get knocked out of the battle, and making Brad the victor.
In the final battle the kid that made it to the final was dressed in a white button down shirt a black vest, black pants and a dark blue cape. "My name is Tyrus" said the kid "I only have one Pokémon but it has been the only one I needed to beat these wimps, and the only one I need to beat you. I stole this Pokémon from his mom a Ditto. I wish it was not as ugly, fat, or if it could put its tongue back in its mouth." Scott spun the wheel and it landed on a one on one battle with one Pokémon or a sudden death battle as some call them in the Trainer Clubs. Tyrus sent out Lickitung while Brad sent out Bulbasaur. The first thing that happened was Lickitung used supersonic on Bulbasaur making it confused. Bulbasaur's vines were going every way that you can imagine. Then it would hit itself on occasion. Now Lickitung used body slam on Bulbasaur. Which gave maximum damage to Bulbasaur as Lickitung was not a skinny Pokémon. Finally, Bulbasaur snapped out of confusion. He attacked from a distance with Razor leaf. It did not do much to stall Lickitung from trying to use another Body slam, and Bulbasaur luckily evade this attack. Causing damage to Lickitung from hitting the hard ground. Bulbasaur strikes Lickitung's back with flurry of vine whips. Then he jumps up and hits Bulbasaur with a headbutt attack. Then Bulbasaur turns and uses Stun Spore directly in the mouth. Lickitung was paralyzed and very slow. Bulbasaur used razor leaf on Lickitung and vine whip. Lickitung used body slam but stopped in the middle of the attack because Lickitung was paralyzed. Bulbasaur then uses tackle attack to knock over Lickitung. Lickitung was unable to get back up. Brad won the finals of the tournament.
"Brad wins the tournament! This will greatly affect the rank of all the trainers that participated." Scott yells. "Brad will win ten thousand club dollars." The screen comes down an shows that Brad has move to the rank nine thousand and one. "Congrats on winning the tournament. Pretty good for a boy that just started his journey yesterday." After the tournament Brad healed his Pokémon and went to sleep with a hard day's work behind him.
The Scientist
When Brad woke up the next morning, he noticed a screen that was working as a touch screen bulletin board. Scott which seems to be everywhere at once explains "The bulletin board is a place that people come to to get trainers to help them! If you feel like leveling up your Pokémon, then you can this can be one of the ways to do that. It also helps the community around you and keeps this place running. The people pay a fee to use this bulletin board, and we pay you in club dollars." I see one posting that say that a scientist is looking to observe Rattata, and battling with Rattata. I take the job thinking that it might be interesting thing to do with my day.
When I make it to the laboratory one of Cypress's aides is there waiting for me. "I work for Cypress's we are studying Rattata today to make it easier for new trainers to past the first route. Before we get started Professor Cypress told me to give this to you. It is a watch that let's you send and receive Pokémon. Now I am going to fight your Rattata with a number of Pokémon and I want to get details about how it fights the other Pokémon."
Brad sent out his Rattata, and the scientist sent out three Caterpie. Rattata used quick attack to easily deal with one of the Caterpie. One Caterpie hit Rattata with a string shot attack. Then the other with a tackle attack. Then Rattata used quick attack to knock out the next one, and hyper fang for the last one. Then the scientist threw out two Pidgey. The two Pidgey used a dual wing attack that caused a great amount of damage. The Rattata counter with quick attack that took out both the Pidgey in a swift motion. Then the Scientist called out a Mankey which worried Brad because he knows that Rattata is weak to Mankey. The Mankey used low kick on Rattata which tripped Rattata and caused him to fall and leave his guard down. Mankey then used scratch attack on Rattata. With the Mankey so close to Rattata a hyper fang landed on Mankey. Now that really hurt Mankey but then he landed a low kick on Rattata this almost caused Rattata to faint but then it used quick attack knocking out the Mankey.
"That is enough. I have all the data that I need for Rattata." Said the Scientist. Now we know that any trainer that needs to get across route 1 is have a well trained Rattata. This will lead to have many more people go to Lyonon town. Which is where the next place on the journey. I wonder why have you not headed to Lyonon town?" Brad answered "I have not gone to Lyonon town because I am trying to raise the Pokémon that I have, help my community, and I have not gotten the Buzz Badge yet. If we are done, I think that I will head back to the Trainer Club. Thanks for the watch!"
The Buzz Badge
The next day Brad felt like he was ready after his days of training he was ready for the gym. The Buzz Badge was what Brad is after. He just now was realizing that all of his planning for this day that he did not have a single Pokémon that would be super effective against Bug Pokémon. Now the gym leader would be difficult because of this but it would not be a deal breaker. So Brad confidently strolled up to the Davison City gym. He was met by a man with white hair. His hair cut looked like spider on his head. "Hi, I am Spinor, How can I help you?" said Spinor. Brad answered, "I am looking for the Gym leader, and I want a match to win my first gym battle." Spinor said "I am the gym leader of this gym and I will accept your challenge of my gym. In this gym we do double battles with four Pokémon."
The two go to their corners and summon their Pokémon. Spiner says "Go Venonat and Beedrill." Brad counters with "Go Butterfree and Beedrill." First Buterfree starts the attack with Confusion on Venonat. It does super effective damage, but it does not knock out Venonat. Venonat then uses disable. The Beedrills not fight each other with Twineedle attack. It looks like neither one is making any ground on fighting each other. It seems like they are hitting the drills mostly. Now Butterfree used confusion on Beedrill, but the move failed. It seems that Venonat used disable and now Butterfree could not use confusion now. Butterfree then stated to blow a gust of wind out of it wings. This blows Venonat back for a hard fall to the ground knocking out Venonat from the battle. After that Parasect joins the battle. Beedrill then uses Twineedle attack on the thorax of the enemy Beedrill. Spinor's Beedrill falls back and that is when Buterfree use gust on the enemy Beedrill. Parasect goes to hit Beedrill with a fury cutter attack, abut Beedrill blocks it with a Twineedle attack. Then Butterfree used gust on Parasect causing maximum damage with a double weakness attack. With this advantage Beedrill landed a Twineedle attack, and Parasect was knocked out of the battle. Spinor used his final Pokémon Scyther. Then Butterfree used confusion attack on Beedrill that sent him flying it regained the ability after a certain amount of time. Scyther used fury cutter on Beedrill and it landed a hit. Then Beedrill hit Twineedle attack against Scyther. Scyther hit another fury cutter that stung just a little bit more. Butterfree then used confusion on Spinor's Beedrill. Finally Spinor's Beedrill failed in the battle. Scyther then lands a fury cutter on Butterfree which knock Butterfree out of the battle. Then before Brad could replace Butterfree Scyther uses fury cutter on Beedrill for scarring amount of damage knocking out Beedrill. Brad then used Rattata and Sandshrew. Rattata attacks with quick attack and when it got close it digs it fangs in with a hyper fang. Sandshrew started to burrow under the ground for a dig attack. Scyther was trying to swing Rattata off its leg to no avail. Sandshrew popped up out of the ground and the move did not affect Scyther because Scyther is a flying type. Suddenly Sandshrew started to do a defense curl but started rolling. Sandshrew had learned Rollout. Once Rattata fell off of Scyther a few fury cutters were landed on Sandshrew, but it just kept making Sandshrew go faster. One swipe of fury cutter missed Sandshrew and Scyther got hit in the head with a Rollout from Sandshrew. This attack was super effective and with the speed at which Sandshrew was going Scyther was knocked out. The referee yelled "the battle goes to Brad."
"Congratulations on winning the Buzz Badge." said Spinor "it is a great honor to give you this badge. With this badge you now can face the next gym in Lyonon. I hope that you can use this TM for fury cutter it causes more damage with every time you land a hit without missing." Brad responds "Thanks for the TM and the badge. I might not head to Lyonon right now but I am going to work hard, and train before I go to the next town."
