Route 2

Brad head out from the Trainer Club in Davison head to the Trainer Club in Anderson. This walk would also go through the mountains that he had been training, but the path was more a straight shot and paved road. Rather than the hiking that he did yesterday for his training session. This road was widely used by vehicles, and every person to clearly get across the Manji region that went along the spiral shape of the mountains to the west of Davison and Anderson. The region was just one big spiral to the middle where the Pokémon League was founded.

Brad was headed down the straight path when something strange happened a van flew by him. The weird thing was that the van seemingly kept passing him turning around and flying past him again. That is until the van made a complete stop right by him and two gentlemen jumped out the back of the van and threw him in the van. Brad knew immediately what the two men wanted because in the back of the van there was Morrim. Without thinking Brad said "What do you need another base burned down?" The men that were tying him to the seat seemed slightly amused that child would talk to their fearless leader like that. Morrim slightly agitated that he did not get the first word said "No boy you are still trying to disrupt my plans I simply cannot have you walking free. I am going to throw you under the prison level this time child." Brad said, "That is fine I have Pokémon that know dig we will get out soon enough." Morrim said "You think that I am going to throw you in there with your Pokémon. Do you think I am an idiot?" Brad replied "Uh your greatest enemy is a ten-year-old. So yeah probably. I mean you did last time." Morrim annoyed said "Well I am not going to do that this time. Have reconsidered my little offer you could train the best Pokémon in the world. You could be a admin in Team Ancient." Brad scoffed "I could be an admin but I would not want to be an admin over a bunch of losers like your team anyway. I do not want to coach the losing team bro." Morrim said "Well I guess that means that you have chosen to be my prisoner." Brad replied "Yeah if I don't burn the place down like last time. My Charmeleon is itching for a fight since it defeated thirteen Paras yesterday. I think newly evolved Charizard. Isn't that your bases weakness or something." Morrim states "I give up. Trying to scare you is not going to work is it. Trying to entice you is not working either. Well maybe when you are older you will be willing to use your talents for me." Brad responds "Okay level with me. Why me quite literally you have so many better trainers. Why would you want me to help you." Morrim said halfway laughing "Simple you are the only one we can get in the back of van." Brad annoyed said "You think kidnapping children is funny. You are a pretty messed up person. I mean you are a cult leader, so you know that is my fault for not guessing that." Morrim said "We are finally to our base near Anderson. I think that you will find that you will not as easily escape this time."

When Brad exited the car he saw one thing a Charizard flying towards him from the far side of the base. The Charizard was using flamethrower to destroy the base. The thought that Brad had was dang does that man have my location how did he get here so fast. It was Michael on his Charizard doing what he loved causing some chaos. You hear him yell "Hayden would be here to but he could not keep up with the van. I think he has gone for the authorities, but we do not think that will do much. That is why I came myself." It was at that time Michael's Charizard chose to pick Brad up. Morrim tried to grab brad before he escaped, but failed. "See you later you creepy old fart." Said Brad. Michael dropped Brad off at the Trainer Club in Anderson. "Hey, I am glad that you are okay!" says Hayden. Michael said proudly "They did not even get him to the cell this time." Brad returned with "They did not even get me indoors this time. How the heck do y'all keep doing that?" Michael replies "Well I saw you on my Charizard and I was going to say hello but you were kidnapped before I could, and well Hayden saw me from the air." Brad said "I am glad that you were there to save me again."

The Graveyard

Now the three trainers were still together because they all stayed at the trainer Club. It was the in the middle of the night when Michael said, "Did you ever hear about the cemetery outside of town?" Brad responds, "yeah you mean the one that goes all the way to Lomaxford." Michael exclaims "Yes, I heard it is haunted. We should go investigate together." Brad jeers "You mean that we should sneak into a graveyard while Team Ancient is on the lookout for me." Michael explains "well they cannot take you if all three of us are together. We would be to strong for them. Remember we took down like a hundred of their Pokémon that one time. We will be fine.' Brad says "That is probably good logic let's go!" Hayden looked anxious "do you really think that we should go to a graveyard at night? Michael says "Yes."

So the three boys go to the cemetery. They all feel a presence that people who could not understand. In the background there is the rattle of chains. Then you could feel the emptiness of the graveyard, but it somehow also feels full. There was a pot of flowers that started to creep out of the pot and started to levitate. Hayden said out loud "Michael stop messing with me" Michael responds, "dude I am over here." Brad looked at Hayden and said, "Hey what is that on your shoulder." What was on Hayden's should was a human looking tongue. Which got a scream that would be heard in Davison probably. That is when Gastly that starts to laugh at Hayden. That is when three Gastly attack the group. Michael used Charizard Hayden sent out Blastoise and Brad used Venasaur. Venasaur used razor leaf on all three of the Gastly. Michael got a flamethrower on the Gastly then Hayden hit them with a Hydro pump. The combination took out all three of the Gastly. Each boy caught a Gastly.

Hayden declared that he was going to use this Gastly to honor his mother. Michael agreed and said that he was going to honor his father by carrying the ghost Gastly. Brad said that he wanted to complete the Pokédex. The other two boys gave him a look like he was clueless how offense that could be to take a soul to complete the Pokédex. "Now we have this Pokémon that bonds us together. No matter how far we get from one another we are bonded together by our Gastly." said Michael. Hayden said "that is true we all started our adventures on the same day but we now have a trio of Ghost Pokémon now our friendship is beyond the grave." Brad said "I am thankful for my friends and every time they stop me from being kidnapped."

The Hero of Anderson

When Brad woke up that morning he heard of a festival that was going on. The festival was for a hero of Anderson. Now Brad had never heard of the hero of Anderson but the people let him in on the reason for the festival. It was that one day a evil person came to Anderson to hurt all of the people living there. Anderson was attacked by seven different Pokémon. When the hero of Anderson defeated the seven Pokémon they all gave him the power to defeat the great villain. Now many of the people took part in the annual festivities of defeating the seven different Pokémon stations run by trainers to collect all the gems and save the day. The seven stations were grass, fire, water, flying, fighting, ground, and ghost.

Now Brad thought that he would compete in the Hero of Anderson festival. Brad chose the six Pokémon that he wanted to use and decided to head over to the grass trainer first to see if he could not get Charmeleon to evolve while going for the gem. The grass trainer was using a Vieplume to "attack the town." The trainer started out with a Petal Dance attack that did decent damage to Charmeleon until he lit the petals on fire with Flamethrower attack. Then the Vieplume used Giga Drain to get back some of the damage that it had taken from Flamethrower. Then Vieplume tried using headbutt but missed when Charmeleon evolved into Charizard and soared into the air. Vieplume got hit with flamethrower, and then wing attack. Then Vieplume used stun spore on Charizard, but it exploded back in the face of Vieplume because Charizard used flamethrower on it. While Charizard was so close Vieplume hit Charizard with Petal dance. Which did some good damage to Charizard then it got it with Petal dance again. After that Vieplume did not seem like it was on its top game. Vieplume seemed to be confused. Then Charizard hit Vieplume with a wing attack to knock Vieplume in the air, and then back down with flamethrower. Which knocked Vieplume out of the battle. Brad got the green gem.

The next challenge that Brad took on in this festival was the fire type challenge. Brad used Graveler to fight the fire type Pokémon. The trainer said "My name is Flame. Yes my parents wanted me to be a fire type trainer." This trainer had a fiery red mohawk that looked like the rising flames. Flame used Charizard to fight Brad's Graveler. The first thing that happened was that Graveler used a rock throw attack to knock Charizard off balance. Charizard used flamethrower which did not affect Graveler that much but really heated the body of the Graveler up. Graveler then attacked with a rollout attack. Then Charizard swatted the Graveler with a wing attack. Then Graveler drifted into a turn that sped Graveler to. Make the rollout attack much more dangerous. When Charizard was hit with another rollout attack it was almost unbearable for the Charizard. Trying to get revenge for the very painful attack Charizard were started follow right behind Graveler. That is when Graveler learned a new move called rockslide. Which made pillars of rock fall behind Graveler which nailed Charizard for quadruple damage. It was at this moment that Charizard used fire blast that made the Graveler stop the rollout attack. The Graveler used rockslide again to counter the fire blast attack knocking out Charizard. Brad got the red gem that was needed for the festival. Flame then yelled "Hey take this badge as well. We are giving them to anyone that beats me today because we have one on one battles at the gym here in Anderson. You have cleared that specification, so you win the badge."

The next fight was the water type Pokémon that was "attacking Anderson." It was a Blastoise the trainer said that it had recently evolved from a Wartortle. That was when Venasaur was called on to fight for Brad. Now Brad used vine whip to start of the battle. The vine was the size of a telephone pole and knocked out Blastoise with one hit of the vine. The battle went really fast because Venasaur was leveled high. In a very underwhelming battle Brad got the blue gem. Which made Brad have to get four more gems to finish the festival.

Now Brad decided that he wanted to fight the flying type trainer next. The Pokémon that Brad chose had never fought in a battle but was super effective against flying type Pokémon. Brad sent out his Pikachu to fight for him against the flying type of Pokémon. The trainer then used a Fearow to fight. The Fearow started attacking with a fury attack that the Pikachu that jumped back and missed Pikachu. Then Brad used Iron Tail on the long neck of the Fearow that seemed to hurt it pretty bad. The Fearow attacked with drill peck attack this landed the attack on Pikachu. Brad did something shocking and used thunderbolt on Fearow which made it seem like it could not move as fast anymore. Fearow went in for another fury attack, but Pikachu would jump back to dodge it like before. The difference was that Fearow was slow that Pikachu actually yawned when he dodged more than three of the attacks. Then Pikachu used Iron Tail on the beak to the eyes of Fearow. This is when Pikachu got hit with a peck attack to the back. This plunged Pikachu towards the ground and made him fall down. Pikachu looked like it was not able to battle at the last moment Pikachu stood up and hit Fearow with a thunderbolt that went all the way through Fearow's body. It was at that moment that Pikachu was grabbed by the Fearow. Fearow started to fly high in the sky seemingly about to drop Pikachu. Then Brad had an idea and Pikachu shocked the Fearow that was holding it up. It made the Fearow drop in altitude. They were going down really fast, and it looked like it was not going to be good for Pikachu because Fearow was going to fall on top of him. That is when Pikachu wrestled the Fearow to be on the bottom which made the wing take drag, and slow them down to a appropriate for battling speed. That is when Pikachu landed on top of Fearow and let out a giant thunderbolt to make Fearow faint. That is when Fearow flew up and started to use drill peck attack. In the middle of this attack, it was clear that Fearow overexerted itself. Fearow fell out of the air and was knocked out. Brad got the Orange gem.

The next challenge that Brad took was the fighting type challenge. Brad had a creative idea for this battle. When the trainer used Machamp. Brad used Gastly. The referee stated "Both Pokémon cannot attack one another this battle is a stalemate trainer you have failed the challenge of the Hero of Anderson. Please give back your gems to the festival head.' Brad returned with "That simply is not true start the match and see me win this one." The referee rolled his eyes and said, "I am setting a five minute counter for a attack to land." Brad started the battle with Curse move. Then Machamp used Dynamic Punch, but it took damage instead of Gastly. The referee confirmed that the curse move did damage by nodding his head to Brad. Then Machamp tried to hit Brad with a double Cross Chop attack, but Machamp took double the damage. Then Machamp tried to go in for four Karate Chop but right before it phased through Gastly again. Machamp stopped in the middle of it attack. Gastly learned Psychic attack which it used on Machamp for a super effective hit. Machamp was furious and tried to land Dynamic Punch with all four arms one arm at a time. This made curse work its magic really quick. Then Machamp fell over and was knocked out winning Brad the yellow gem.

The next challenge was for the indigo gem. The next challenge was to fight the ground type Pokémon "attacking Anderson." Brad used Wartortle because it needs some practice to evolve into Blastoise. It was up against a Dugtrio. Now Brad had not seen one of these Pokémon before. It was a clean and easy win though for Brad because he knew what was going to to do within seconds of the battle beginning. When Dugtrio started to burrow holes Wartortle used water gun directly into the hole that Dugtrio was in the process od burrowing. This made the tunnel will up with water. Wartortle only got hit by one dig attack before the Dugtrio was knocked out of the battle. This was a quick battle, but it made Wartortle a much stronger Pokémon, and gave him a better accuracy with water gun. Brad go the Indigo gem.

The last challenge was the violet gem that was the ghost type. The Pokémon that was used was Haunter. Then Brad used Gastly because Brad knew that Ghost type was super effective against ghost type. The Haunter started the attack with a curse move. Cutting his health in half but causing Gastly to take damage every time it attacks. That is when Haunter stopped moving and it was hit with a devastating psychic move. This caused Gastly some damage as well. The Haunter stuck out his long disgusting looking tongue and licked Gastly. Gastly returned the attack with a night shade attack which caused great damage to Haunter, and a little to Gastly. Haunter then uses a flurry of shadow claw attacks that do not land on Gastly. When Haunter got close to Gastly a night shade attack hit Haunter hard. Then Haunter disappeared from the field. Brad screamed "Gastly look behind you." Which haunter was trying to use shadow sneak but failed because Brad saw the attack coming. Gastly hit Haunter with a psychic attack to get it to stop attacking for the moment. Now Haunter broke through the Psychic attack and hit Gastly with a few Shadow claw attack. Gastly then attacked with night shade attack and Haunter fell. Haunter was knocked out of the battle, and Brad was the victor winning the violet gem.

Brad rushed back to the town and the gems started to light up, and a rainbow came from Brad's gems. Then the man that appeared was the supposed villain of the day. "You have got all the gems to battle me. I am a ancestor of the long defeated villain now that you have defeated all the gem Pokémon you have to beat me at a six on six Pokémon battle. Now the Gengar that I fight with has been passed on in my family throughout the years. This is believed to be the villain of the story. I do not mean this in a since that we joke about on this day every year. I mean this in the sense that a Gastly showed up on top of the grave of the Pokémon this is the villain's afterlife. I also have five other Pokémon to win this battle."

The trainer started with the Gengar that was the villain of the story. Brad used Charizard to defeat the villain. Now Gengar started with a shadow ball attack. Which was deflected by a flamethrower back. Then Gengar used a dazzling Gleam attack that stunned Charizard. Gengar then used Hypnosis that put Charizard asleep, and Gengar the used Dream eater. Gengar ate all of Charizard's dreams of flying through the mountains and meeting a nice lady Charizard. Then Gengar got a lot of his health back after eating the dreams of Charizard. Charizard woke up and hit Gengar with wing attack. Then Charizard kept its fight with a flamethrower attack. Gengar then used thunderbolt attack on Charizard. Charizard then used flamethrower on Gengar. Flamethrower knocked Gengar to the ground and Gengar spent a second on the ground before it jumped up and used shadow punch to Charizard's face. Charizard hit Gengar with both wings. In a double wing attack. The Gengar flew backwards in a swirling motion that seemed out of control. Then Gengar shot a Shadow ball with the speed of going out of control on Charizard. Charizard's arms both started to glow with a green fervor. Both of the arms looking like dragon type Pokémon. Charizard used dragon claw on Gengar. This did a great amount of damage but was countered with a dazzling gleam attack. Since Charizard could not see well since the dazzling gleam attack Charizard shot a flamethrower into Gengar. Neither of the Pokémon are starting to look good for this battle. There has been major hits on each side. Charizard was using dragon claw while Gengar was disappearing an reappearing to dodge the moves. That is when Gengar reappeared on top of Charizard and let off a massive thunderbolt attack. Charizard took a dastardly fall at speeds that would have blown the minds of any trainer. The Charizard was knocked out of the battle. Brad then chose Pikachu to finish off Gengar. Gengar did something that was not very kind at all. It decided that it had enough of this battle. It used curse on itself and was knocked out of the battle.

Then the other trainer used a Meowth to fight the Pikachu. It was a simple cat and mouse battle. Meowth started out with fury swipes attack. Then Pikachu blocks the attack with a flurry of Iron tails. It seemed like they were fighting like the knights of old. They would hit the tail and the claws together. Pikachu finally got the inside of the attacks, and nails a iron tail to the face of Meowth. While Meowth was still off its guard then Pikachu hit Meowth with thunderbolt attack. This was a shocking turn in the battle. The battle was pretty close of a fight but now Pikachu had the advantage and knocked Meowth off its feet with a quick attack. Then while Pikachu was flying in the air it hit Meowth with another thunderbolt attack. This knocked Meowth out of the battle.

Then Farfetch'd was used to fight Pikachu. Pikachu started off with a iron tail attack. Farfetch'd started to use its leak to block the iron tail attacks. Then Farfetch'd had an idea and started to use fury cutter to block iron tails attack. That meant that every time Pikachu hit the leak Farfetch'd Pikachu took more and more damage from the leak. Then Pikachu hit Farfetch'd with a thunderbolt attack after doing a backflip over Farfetch'd with an Iron tail. Then Pikachu took great damage when Farfetch'd came around an knocked it with a fury cutter. The fury cutter knocked Pikachu so hard that it was down. The referee started to count how long Pikachu was down. One two three four five six seven eight nine, and Pikachu popped up then used thunderbolt attack. This made Farfetch'd take flight and it used aerial ace on Pikachu. Then Farfetch'd grabbed Pikachu up, and flew up high in the sky. Now Farfetch'd was able to drop Pikachu before it shocked Farfetch'd. Pikachu was free falling when they came up with idea. Pikachu used Iron tail to plant his self in the ground to take no damage from being dropped. Then Farfetch'd went in for a sky stack, but Pikachu went to dodged. Pikachu got pinned by the tail. Then Pikachu shocked Farfetch'd with a thunderbolt causing both Pokémon to faint.

Then the trainer used a Slowbro. While Brad used his Venasaur. This was fortunate seeing as they did not know that the other would use. Venasaur used Vine whip to start the battle with great force of telephone poles being thrown but Slowbro psychic to stop the vines. This did not work and Slowbro was hit for massive damage, and Slowbro looked rough. Then Slowbro used yawn. Venasaur yawned really big then hit Slowbro with another vine whip attack. Slowbro then used a hydro pump attack on a sleeping Venasaur. With great grunting and power Slowbro lifted Venasaur up in the air. Then Slowbro dropped Venasaur, and the damage had been done. Venasaur woke up and hit Slowbro when it was not looking with a razor leaf attack that looked like garbage can lids hitting Slowbro. Then Slowbro created a giant wave to hit Venasaur with a surf attack. Venasaur was unphased, and grabbed Slowbro with vine while it passed over Venasaur. Venasaur smacks Slowbro on the ground. Then wrapped Slowbro in a leech seed attack. Which Slowbro could not break before succumbing to the leeching of his health. Venasaur got a good amount of health back from the leech seed attack.

Then Ninetales took the place of Slowbro. The Ninetales used Wil o Wisp attack which burned Venasaur. Then Ninetales used flamethrower while it had the advantage. Then Venasaur shot a leech seed it hit Ninetales in the middle so that it could still move. Then Ninetales used sunny day to make its fire type moves. What Ninetales did not expect was that Venasaur rocked Ninetales world with a solar beam attack. Ninetales then attacked with a crispy flamethrower attack. Then Ninetales got hit again with another solar beam attack. Ninetales hit Venasaur with a fire spin, and flamethrower combo to knock out Venasaur. Then Brad used Wartortle the sunny day just faded. Then Wartortle started to attack with a water gun. Then something built up in Wartortle. It shot a giant bubble in the air and it became a rainy day. The rainy day powered up the water gun attack enough to knock out Ninetales.

The final Pokémon in the other trainer's team was Alakzam. Then Wartortle used water gun to knock Alakzam off it guard. Then Alakzam used future sight. Then Wartortle used withdraw into a raid spin attack. Alakzam stopped the spinning with a psychic attack. Then Wartortle filled its shell with water, and built up the pressure. Then finally Alakzam let go of Wartortle and the pressure from the attack made Alakzam fall down and hit it for a great amount of damage. Then Wartortle hit Alakzam with rapid spin attack. Alakzam then used a thunderbolt attack. Then Wartortle fell in battle and was almost counted out then he got up. Unfortunately for Wartortle this was the moment it go hit by the future sight attack used at the beginning of the battle knocking him out. Then Gastly appeared and used curse immediately to get Alakzam to slowly lose its health. Alakzam countered with psychic. Then Gastly used night shade attack. Alakzam used thunderbolt the attack missed Gastly and really hurt Alakzam. Gastly used night shade to attack Alakzam. Then Alakzam used future sight, but it failed because the curse knocked out Alakzam.

"Brad wins! He is this year's hero of Anderson." Says an announcer. Brad says "Didn't multiple people try this challenge. Won't multiple people be the hero this year." The announcer says "Hey kid I just wanted to make it feel special. You did something really good. You won this six on six and beat the Pokémon that were violently attacking Anderson. Well, you do not really win anything besides the experience. So… Congratulations on beating the challenge." Brad said "Well my Charmeleon evolved, and all of my Pokémon go that much stronger. We learned so much during this fight, and challenge. Also, I got my Pyro badge during this battle because Flame was one of the trainers. This was a great experience that I got to have with my Pokémon, and we all had lots of fun battling all the different trainers." The announcer declares "well at least you had fun at the festival of the Hero of Anderson."

A Visitor in the Night

That night while Brad was asleep something very strange was happening. A visitor in the form of a Abra appeared in the bed of Brad. Now this was startling for Brad. The thrashing about that Brad did was not any good. Abra teleported both of them away from the Trainer's Club. Now it was weird that a random Abra would teleport someone that was not their trainer away. The pair went through many places and just kept teleporting around. They saw mountains, and valleys, rivers, canyons, and even the outside of the Anderson Trainer Club. Unfortunately Abra teleported them away too fast for Brad to get away from this insane Abra.

Now Abra teleported them to a hideout for what looked like a biker gang. The only tow guys in the building did not like that Brad was in their hideout without permission. The two both threw out Grimer and they started to battle Brad to beat him up. The problem was that Brad did not have any of his Pokémon. So Brad had to fight with the Abra that had been teleporting him around the world. Now Brad thought that this might be a hard battle but the Abra teleported behind one of the Grimer and used ice punch. Which knocked out one Grimer. Then levitated straight towards the pother and hit him with a thunder punch attack. Then a fire punch attack from Abra knocked out the other Grimer. This caused the two biker to use both Koffing. The bald one said "Hey our honor, and the honor of the squad relies on this battle. We got to beat this little kid that should be in bed." The Koffing were taken out by a ice punch with each hand from Abra. Then the bikers used two Muk that most people would think would be harder to defeat were beaten in a quick manner with a teleport and ice punch combo. Then the pair used two Arbok which were taken about multiple thunder punches. The bikers then used dual Gloom. The problem is that their luck was Gloom because Abra beat him with a fire punch attack. Then the bikers thought their Tentacruel would win the battle. That was unfortunate because again they were beaten by thunder punch. Finally they both used their aces which were two Machoke. Abra completely wiped the floor with them being out punched by a string of fire and thunder punches. That is when Abra sent him and Brad back to the Trainer Club.

When back in the room with all his stuff Brad was about to go back to sleep. When Abra grabbed the bag of Brad. Brad jumped thinking that Abra was going to teleport away with his bag, but in al actuality the abra but his hand in the bag and touched the center o. Pokeball. Thus, catching itself in the Pokeball so that it would become allies with Brad.

The Fighting Champion

The next day after Brad had slept in because of his late night activities with Abra there was a type specific tournament at the Trainer Club. It was a Battle Royale type matches something that can happen in faux wrestling. All the people competing in the match would enter the ring that was a eight foot by eight foot square that the Pokémon would enter and if anyone left the ring they were out. Also, if they were knocked out they would be out. The tournament did multiple of these matches to see who would the Fighting champion. Brad was going to compete with Primeape but then Brad saw a Machop. Scott then walked up to him "Brad that Machop is wild, but it really wants to fight for the championship. It comes almost every time we have a tournament just watch the fighting type Pokémon battle. You should capture that Pokémon and use it to fight in the tournament. You could convince it to let you capture it and then you could fight in the tournament." Brad walked up to the Machop, and revealed the plan to the Pokémon that was not afraid of humans at all because of his constant appearances at the Trainer Club. The Machop was excited that it could compete for the title of the fighting champion of Anderson. Now the Machop seemed to be fit, and that it would be a good chance to win the title sense the Machop has studied the fighting types.

Now the first fight was not a very impressive lot of fighting type Pokémon. The ring was three Mankey three Hitmonchan and a Hitmonlee. The three Mankey seemed to be unfortunate allies that were hoping to meet up farther in the tournament and get a head. Instead, they all got put in this battle which means only one could advance to the next battle. The three Mankey all got into a corner, and all did a low kick on a. enemy which seemed to be some sort of trio move that they did. Unfortunately for the other trainer is that a Hitmonlee use sky uppercut which knocked a Mankey out of the ring. Hitmonlee then used a sky uppercut when a Mankey was on top of the turn buckle. When this attack missed because of a dodge. Then Hitmonlee was defeated because it jumped out of the ring. The next thing that happened was that Machop was the middle of the ring. Two Hitmonlee went for a double sky uppercut, but Machop knocked both of the back to the ropes with a Karate Chop attack. Then both Mankey grabbed them and fell to the apron of the ring. Knocking out the two Hitmonlee but not the two Mankey that is until Machop hit both of those Mankey knocking them off the apron to the ground. This made the battle one on one with the last Hitmonchan. Hitmonchan used a wicked Ice Punch Machop dodged and used Low sweep which made Hitmonchan fall on the ground. Then Machop hit Hitmonchan with two karate chop attacks. Then Hitmonchan shot up and used a Sky uppercut attack. While Machop was in the air Hitmonchan tried to knock Machop out with a Mach punch. Then Machop knocked out Hitmonchan instead with a low sweep attack. Winning Machop its first match.

The next battle actually had four different Machop, three Mankey and a Poliwrath. The Poliwrath was obviously the most likely to win the battle. The battle started with two Machop using a low kick on Poliwrath which was a great move because of the great weight of Poliwrath. The Poliwrath fell on all three of the Mankey the trainers were pretty upset that they were already out. The Machop then started to fight. The hero Machop took a Mach Punch which was swiftly returned with a reversal attack. That enemy Machop was taken out of the battle. The other two enemy Machop were constantly beating on the Poliwrath while it tried to stand up. Brad saw an opening so he attacked one of the Machop with Karate Chop attack which was a critical hit knocking that Machop out of the battle. This let Poliwrath get the other Machop into a submission attack which made it faint out the battle. Poliwrath got Brad's Machop into a submission but Machop got one arm free so right before Machop was going to faint a reversal attack landed. The reversal freed Machop, and knocked out the Poliwrath winning Machop the second match.

The next match was against a Machoke, three Mankey, two Primeape, a Machamp and our Machop. The Primeape started off grappling both arms on each side. The two Primeape started spinning which confused Machamp the Pokémon expected to win. The Machamp was swinging his four arms all around that hit all of the Mankey which knocked the three of the Pokémon out. The two Primeape then did the same to the Machoke. The Machoke and the Machamp started to fight and when they got to the ropes of the wrestling ring. The Primeape used low kick while the other used strength to knock out the Machoke and Machamp. Primeape then used Raging fist on Machop then Machop hit back with a reversal attack that greatly damaged the Primeape. Then the other grabbed the arm of Machop the other got the other arm and spun for the attack. Machop then stopped one arm and used one Primeape as a weapon on the other with a Karate chop. The two Primeape were beaten and Brad won the third match.

The final match was a set of all evolved Pokémon except for Brad's Machop. There were two Machamp, three Primeape, and two Poliwrath. The battle began when the seven Pokémon started by going for Machop. The Primeape was going for Raging fist the first was met with reversal. The next met with a brick break and the last got a vital throw right out of the ring. The two Poliwrath got both the Machamp into a submission were none of their four arms could move. The two Poliwrath started flexing the submission near the ropes and that is when Machop used low sweep on one side. Primeape did it to the other side. Making four of the Pokémon fall out of the ring. Both the Poliwrath and Machamp out of the fight. Then Primeape jumped on Machop but got grabbed and one Vital throw and Primeape was out of the ring. The last Primeape used cross chop, and then Machop used reversal defeating the last Primeape. Making Machop the fighting champion. The experience of winning the matches made Machop evolve into Machoke.

Then Machoke and Brad heard over the sound system "The Fighting Type champion is Brad and his Machoke." Scott said "Brad I am proud of you for taking the challenge on with a wild Pokémon and still winning all four matches. I never thought that you would make this far to be honest with you." Brad says "I think that it was a challenge but it definitely was fun to fight the others with Pokémon that had trained hard for the fight." Scott then exclaims "Well brad that is another ten thousand Club dollars, and let's see were you are ranked now that you have won." Brad moved a considerable amount moving from nine thousand and eight hundred to nine thousand six hundred and fifty-nine.

The Gridiron

Now the tournament of the day was Gridiron (American football) competition now Brad had to chose five Pokémon that would play in this game of Gridiron. Machoke was decided to be the quarterback with Abra and Gastly being the wide receivers then Venasaur was on the line to stop Machoke from being attacked, and Graveler for halfback. Now Brad's team had something that they did not have any flying type Pokémon in the gridiron challenge which was very common.

The Gridiron was going to be played the first one to 28 and the points were scored by seven. The team started on the twenty-yard line. Brad's team started on defense. Now on the first snap of the game Brad's Venasaur made it past the Nidoking on the other team to sack their quarter back Mr. Mime with a vine whip attack. The next play Mr. Mime used barrier so that Venasaur could not sack him. Mr. Mime took a shot down field to Pidgey, but at that second Abra teleported in front of Pidgey caught the ball and levitated towards the endzone for seven points. The humiliating thing was that the other team had to start at the twenty-yard line again. Then the other team hit a run play for a twenty-five-yard gain. Then the other team got a to the one-yard line because Mr. Mime got the ball to Pidgey. Abra appeared before Pidgey right before the other team would score. Mr. Mime get taken down by a sack on this play but drops the ball first. Venasaur picks up the ball and barrels towards the other endzone. Pidgey started to attack Venasaur, but Gastly used spite so that it could attack Venasaur to many times. The score was fourteen to nothing, but the other team was still on offense and restarted at the twenty yard line because of the score. Now the run attack was Pikachu for the other team. Now this play was stopped by Graveler hitting Pikachu with a Rollout attack. Then Mr. Mime threw an interception to Gastly that hovered towards the endzone, and score for Brad's team. Now Mr. Mime's team was feeling shaky after the interception so they threw it to Brad's Abra, but Abra started being weird and teleported a great distance backwards instead of going forward. Brad was on the forty-five-yard line. This did not stop Machoke and the gang because they threw the ball for thirty five yards with Machoke making a connection with Graveler. The next attack was Graveler using rollout into the endzone to make the game twenty eight to nothing.

Now in the second game of Gridiron Brad's team started on offense. Now this was going to be a hard fought match because the other team was only fighting types. Now the game started with Machoke being unable to pass the ball. Machoke decided to run himself. Mankey jumped on him but was met with a reversal knocking off Mankey. Then a Machoke tried to stop our Machoke but then our Machoke leveled the other with a Low sweep attack. This play got a total of fifty yards to put Brad on the opposing twenty yard line. In the next play Venasaur let the opposing Hitmonchan get past it but the ball was thrown to Venasaur and made it to the endzone. Now on defense Venasaur beat Hitmonchan off the line and got the sack on the quarterback so that the other team lost ten yards. Then Graveler used rollout to stop the run play with Hitmonlee. The problem was that Hitmonlee was knocked down in his own endzone so Brad's team got the ball and seven points. After that the game was fourteen to nothing. Brad's team first ran the ball with Graveler which got twelve yards and the first down. The next was a pass towards Gastly that levitated on ground level just to prove that the other team could not take him down with all fighting types. This ended in yet another score for Brad's team that was a score of twenty one to zero. When the other team got the ball they went on a long run with Hitmonlee and its long legs that got them to score in the endzone for a score of twenty one to seven. When Machoke went to throw the ball it was clear that it had made a bad throw to Gastly which was intercepted by a Machop and was run back by the Machop for another touchdown and a score of twenty one to fourteen. Now Machoke had to get back and pass the ball after the interception. Then Machoke saw and did not see a person to pass it to so that it rand for twenty years down the field. Then Brad tried again to pass to Venasaur with a unexpecting other team but Machoke got sacked. Now Machoke started the play after the sack and searched the field for another Pokémon and hit Abra for a deep pass, and Abra teleported into the endzone for the win.

The eight teams that had started the tournament the one that Brad played next was going to be the toughest. They were up against an Nidoking, Charizard, Blastoise, Alakzam and Onix. They seemed like they were well trained in the game of Gridiron. The big bald trainer said "I train the best Pokémon for the game of Gridiron. Boy you should just quit while you are ahead, and your Pokémon are not hurt." Brad responded "Pretty arrogant I am going to play the game and try to have fun. While you figure out that all white suits have never been cool."

This was going to be a different game because it was going to be played to forty two. The first play the other team was on offense Venasaur got around Nidoking but Alakzam used psychic to stop Venasaur and passed to Charizard for a score. Then when Machoke threw a pass Charizard intercepted it and scored for a score of fourteen to zero. Then Blastoise made Machoke fumble the ball and Blastoise got a score by picking up the fumble. Now that Machoke had to go back on offense right after that it threw another interception to Charizard for a touchdown. The score was now twenty-eight zero. Then Brad tried a run with Rollout attack, but Graveler fumbled the ball and the other team scored. For a score of thirty-five to nothing.

The next play Brad had an idea. Brad brought Venasaur around one side when Alakzam stopped Venasaur Graveler came around and hit him with a rollout causing a sack. Then the other team ran a play that let Venasaur through, but it was thrown to Nidoking as Nidoking was barreling forth Graveler stopped Nidoking five yard from the first down. After that Alakzam passed the ball to Charizard but Abra teleported just in time to stop the ball from being caught. On the last play before the ball was to get turned over on downs The ball was thrown towards Onix, but Machoke knocked it down so that Brad's team started with great field position. The next play was run play and Graveler used rollout and hit Nidoking which sent him flying and hit the other team Charizard to get Brad a score. The score was now thirty-five to seven.

The next play Brad was on defense and Brad tried to use Gastly and Abra to disturb Charizard this did not work because it left Onix opened to catch the ball but it was overtaken by a submission from Machoke before the first down. The next play Brad got a major sack because Graveler used rollout and got Alakzam jumpy then Venasaur hit it with a vine whip attack. Then a pass to Charizard went incomplete when Gastly licked it, and that caused paralysis to slow it down. It was on the twenty seven yard line on fourth down needing three to get the first down. So Blastoise runs the ball and Graveler hits him with a rollout to get Blastoise going in the wrong direction. The Blastoise went out its own endzone to get Brad a score. Now the score was thirty-five to fourteen.

Brad got the ball back because of the safety that happened in the last play. Machoke took the ball and threw it to Abra, but Charizard knocked down the ball but could not intercept it because of the paralysis. Then Brad's team went for another pass, but they did not have anyone to throw to both Blastoise and Nidoking started to barrel towards Machoke. Machoke propelled itself off the head of Blastoise with a Dynamic Punch. Then Machoke kicked Charizard in the face with a low kick attack. Then Machoke made it all the way to the fifty-yard line before Onix brought down Machoke good for the first down. The other trainer said, "Hey those tricks might be good for winning other Gridlock games, but not beating my team." The next play Charizard, Blastoise and Nidoking came for Machoke. Venasaur got both Blastoise and Nidoking, but Charizard got really close to Machoke. That was when Machoke tossed the ball to Graveler. Which was far ahead of the Charizard because of the blitz that it tried to get the jump on Machoke. When Onix attacked Graveler the rollout attack went up the body of Onix in a spiral. Then Alakzam got in front of Graveler and used psychic. The psychic was trying to stop Graveler, but it was broken through for a score. The score was now thirty-five to twenty-one.

Now the next play was brad's team on defense. Brad had an idea that would catch the other team off guard. Venasaur and Graveler both rushed as was the usual but Abra teleported in front of Alakzam and hit it with a thunder punch attack. This caught Alakzam and then it stepped back and threw to Charizard which was deflected by Abra because it teleported in front of Charizard. Then Brad did not try that the next time to keep the other team guessing. The team would attack the other with a vine whip and tripped Nidoking. Which caused Alakzam to be wide open and Graveler got sacked. The team was backed up in their own side of the field. Now Alakzam decided to scramble because it did not have any options to throw. Alakzam made it past Graveler and Venasaur. Then Abra teleported to Alakzam and froze Alakzam in its place with ice punch. Alakzam tried to keep moving with its frozen body. So, Brad knocked it down with fire punch. Now on fourth down the ball was intercepted by Gastly and brought back to the endzone. The score was now thirty-five for them twenty-eight for Brad.

Now Alakzam with its high intelligence was not bothered that it threw an interception to a bunch of rookies. "Don't be bothered Alakzam we can't lose to these rookie trainers with a team that could only win in the Peewee league Gridiron that they play at their elementary school." Now the opposing team threw the ball towards the endzone, and it was caught by Charizard. The problem is that to get the ball Charizard roasted Gastly and Abra with a flamethrower. Which mean that it was called back, and the other much uglier trainer got a penalty of fifteen yards. The man yelled "What do you mean that I got a penalty! I never get penalty! It would better for my Pokémon not to have hatched than to get a penalty in the great game of Gridiron." The referee gave a warning that if he had another outburst, he would forfeit the match. That was when Alakzam threw a pass to Onix and Abra caught a pick seven to get another score. This tie up the score which made the other trainer have an outburst.

"Next point wins boy. I bet you want to give up right now so that you will not be humiliated by a defeat from me." Said the mean trainer. Then Brad's team was on defense which gave the other team a big advantage. That is when Alakzam did some fancy foot work and Onix started to barrel towards him before the play. This was known as setting the Onix into motion. Onix got the ball and started to pile drive through the opposition. Then Onix did something that Brad did not expect which was burrow under the ground. Which Brad did not know was a legal move. Venasaur though grabbed the tail before it came up. Which pulled the Onix back out of the original hole which mean that it did not gain any yards. It just created a hazard in the field. Then Blastoise tried to go down the same hole by making a water slide with water gun attack, but the same thing happened to Blastoise when it jumped in the air to get a head start in the slide. Which meant a tackle for a loss. Then Alakzam got sacked by Venasaur in an underwhelming attack. Then Alakzam threw the ball to Charizard which made it the one-yard line before Abra hit it with a thunder punch to knock it down. This is when Alakzam went back to throw the ball that Abra teleported behind it and hit Alakzam with ice punch at the same time as Venasaur used vine whip. Which caused Alakzam to fumble the ball to Abra. Abra started to levitate towards the endzone when Charizard got close but abra hit it with a thunder punch. Then Onix almost got Abra in a bind attack but got nailed with a ice punch attack. On the twenty-yard Blastoise got to Abra with a rapid spin and got hit with a thunder punch attack. The trainer yelled "Get that greased pig! I will not lose to a kid like that you better get that Abra, or you are running wind sprints until I have to clean your throw up off the grounds. Then we are going to start doing up downs, until all your bellies are purple and no that does not count Nidoking." Then Abra was on the ten-yard line that Abra was almost to the endzone but Nidoking made it to Abra. That is when abra landed an ice punch attack and got the touch down to win the game thirty-five to forty two.

Now the old man was furious that he just lost to some punk kid that just learned the game of Gridiron. Which was not true by any means. The man insisted that the final play should not have counted. The referee went back over the tape, and it was very clear that Brad had won the match. A Pokémon can use moves to stop from being tackled and to move faster but not so that it would not get the ball. After this both Gastly and Abra evolved into their perspective evolutions over Haunter and Kadabra. Scott said "Congrats on winning ANOTHER tournament. You will get another ten thousand Club dollars, and your rank will move up again. Also, Brad if you want to evolve your Graveler, Machoke, Haunter, and Kadabra then you can use the trade back machine in the Trainer Club. That would mean that you could put the Pokémon in the system then you will get them back. It will be as if you traded them, but you will get the original back. It will evolve as soon as you take it out of its Pokémon." Brad's rank went up from where he was at in place nine thousand six hundred and fifty-nine to nine thousand six hundred. went and did this immediately which made Graveler into Golem, Machoke into Machamp, Kadabra in Alakzam, and Haunter into Gengar.

The Dark Omen

Now Brad took two Pokémon out to the grave yard that spread from Anderson to Lomaxford. Now Brad only brough two Pokémon because he thought that these two needed some training. Brad wanted to train Pikachu before he used a thunder stone to evolve him to Raichu. Then Brad wanted to use Wartortle because when Wartortle evolves into Blastoise he would have the first twenty five Pokédex entries cleared which would mean that he was well on his way to completing the Manji Pokédex. He was in fact well over sixty Pokémon in his repertoire because of the living Pokédex that Professor Cypress was talking about. Who has been breed my Pokémon to create all the Pokémon that he needs to study.

Now it happened that while Brad was in the grave yard that he met a mysterious Pokémon. The Pokémon was yellow and had nine tails. The Pokédex said that it was actually called Ninetales. It was with its little Vulpix, and Brad decided that he wanted the Vulpix for his collection. Now the two Pokémon did not want to be captured or split up, but when they tried to retreat Brad fell over and grabbed Ninetales by the tail, and it was something that he would never forget.

It was clear that something was wrong because immediately the Pokémon near them started to attack Brad. There was small pond with a gazebo in the middle where a young girl you had drowned in that very pond was laid to rest. Brad then seemed like he could hear something "Help me. Help me I am drowning in the pond." Brad thought it was weird that the girl could talk even though she was drowning Brad ran towards the pond but three Gyardos attacked Brad. Brad used Pikachu that used a quick attack on one Gyardos and used a thunderbolt on it. Then Pikachu used Iron tail off of the first fainted Gyardos to the next Gyardos which also got a thunder bolt. Then a quick attack to the next Gyardos, and a thunderbolt to take out the third Gyardos.

The next thing that happened would not soon be replicated. It was three Pokémon coming up from the ground. It was three Charmeleon that had its skin falling off the bone. The Pokémon had come up from their graves on the Pokémon side of the cemetery. Wartortle used water gun to knock all three of them which made them just bones that fell apart. The zombie Pokémon did not end their because five Geodude with pieces that were missing from their skulls attacked with a rock throw attack. Wartortle defeated them with a water gun attack. Then two scrawny looking Ratticate came out with giant teeth but they were nothing but skin and bone it was obvious that they starved because their teeth got to big. Wartortle used Rapid spin and knocked down both.

It was then that a decrepit old man came to see what Brad was doing. He said "Hey youngster what is going on with you?" Brad had both Pokémon poised at the ready to attack the old man before he saw that he was clearly not a zombie. The man said "He what is going on?" Brad said "The dead are rising from their graves. I do not know what I did to deserve this but I seemingly can't get them to stop attacking me. Why are these Pokémon leaving their final resting place?" The Old Man said "Did you try to capture the Ninetales? It sometimes comes around the graveyard. It is said that if you touch its tail, you will be cursed for one thousand years." Brad said "Oh no I did accidently grab the tail of the Ninetales. I was trying to capture the Ninetales and its little Vulpix to get it for my Pokédex." The Old Man "I am the grave digger. I am going to have to do a lot of digging because of this little mess, but you can usually stop the dead from rising by giving a offering to the Ninetales statue in the mausoleum. It is said to be linked with the Ninetales that put you in such dire stakes. You should go and get a berry from the trees over in that direction. That should work, but the dead are going to rise while you do all of this. So good luck! I will get my shovel ready, and put the Ratticate, Charmeleon, and Geodude back to their graves. Go ahead and defeat ALL the Pokémon who leave their graves because I do not want to be the one to put them down."

Then a bereaved Cubone was crying at its mother's grave when a Marowak climbed from it grave. Marowak was missing its skull from were Cubone had taken it. It was a headless Marowak. The Marowak walked with a bone on its left side because it lost its leg. Marowak fell over when it tried to use its crutch for Boomerang attack. Then Wartortle used water gun to finish off the Marowak. Which made Cubone furious because it had just got back its mother that had passed. Cubone was even going to offer her skull back even though he was using it as a helmet. So Wartortle hit Cubone with water gun and captured the little Cubone.

While Brad was heading towards the tree, he saw a group of ten Pikachu coming from their mass grave. Brad saw the mass grave and the small stone that was there on top of the mass grave. "Here lies the Pokémon that were not shiny. Only the special will rise above." Brad thought that was unique wording because these Pikachu were defiantly rising above… the ground… after death. That is when Brad summoned Cubone "I am sorry about what I had to do to your mother. I bet she was the best, but she would have never lasted. She did not even have a head." Cubone solemnly nodded his head. Brad then said, "Now that you agree can you help me with these Pikachu use Boomerang attack." Cubone started to use boomerang on whatever Pikachu that would get the closest to the party. It seemed that the first Pikachu tried to us iron tail on Cubone but its tail fell off when attacking, and Cubone then jumped an hit with another boomerang. Three Pikachu used their final moves on Cubone which was quick attack. Now to counter that Cubone finished all three of them with a Bone rush attack. Then four Pikachu were finished because they believed they could still use volt tackle attack. Which they could not because their skin and muscles fell off during the attack just leaving their snow-white bones. The last two were about to attack when they succumbed to their injuries from the boomerang.

When the trees with the berries that Ninetales liked were in sight. Brad saw five white hands breaking ground. Five enormous Poliwrath joined the battle. With three different Poliwhirl tow of the were missing an eye, and the other did not have one of its arms. Then ten Poliwag crept to earth some missing tails other missing legs. The rain started to pick up when the punches started to fly against Pikachu. Brad's Pikachu was dodging punches left and right. It started to go for the berries, but it was unable to get anywhere near the berries. Pikachu started to hit some Poliwag with thunderbolt. About five rested in pieces when Pikachu's cheeks started to crackle with electricity. This caused a thunder attack that knocked out all of the attacking Pokémon.

Now that they had taken care of the Poliwag family they grabbed the berries and were headed back when it was clear that some undead Caterpie really wanted the berries that they were trying to take. Cubone knocked two of them out of the tree without a problem with a careful Boomerang attack. Then Pikachu took out three Weedle that was trying to steal the berry from the arms of Pikachu. Pikachu took about twenty berries and sent them down to Brad so that they could have a decent offering for Ninetales. This rainy day had been far to long for the young Brad.

Then Arcanine raised up from its slumber. Brad used Wartortle to fight the fire type zombie. Now the gravestone said "To my loving partner. We have fought many battles by one another side. I am sorry that I could not be there for your last battle. I must face this next one alone- Pyro" Now Arcanine started with a fire spin attack to pin Wartortle in the same spot. Then it used extreme speed to keep hitting it repeated times. Wartortle used water gun and tried to face the right direction, but Arcanine was extremely fast. It was at that moment to Growlithe comes to save the bigger Arcanine and the two were defeated without a fire's chance in a tornado. That is when Wartortle evolved into Blastoise. That is when Blastoise used hydro pump to nail the the Arcanine. Finally, the Arcanine fell over and succumbed to the fact that it would not win this fight.

Now a weird sound started to come from behind Brad as he sprinted towards the mausoleum. It was a flapping in the wound but not the normal flapping in the wind but as Pidgey flapped its wing the skin would come up and down making a disgusting noise. Pikachu then hit the Pidgey with a thunder attack ten of them fell out of the air on that dark rain day. That is until the much louder sound happened which was a Pidgeot that was flying at Pikachu. When it tried to grab Pikachu it talons fell of and was met with a thunderbolt that took down Pidgeot.

Now the mausoleum was in sight when twelve Magnemite and a Electabuzz came out of another crypt. Cubone jumped and hit five different Magnemite for four times the damage. They were laid to rest after the attack all of them then tried a thunderbolt in unison, but Cubone grounded it out. Then Cubone knocked four more out of the battle and back into the crypt. With the fifth part of bone club, it ripped off the leg of the Electabuzz. Then Cubone defeated the other four Magnemite and Then took of the arm of Electabuzz making it go to the grave once again. Once all this was done Cubone hit a pose not looking at his enemy and evolved into Marowak.

Finally, Brad made it to the mausoleum where the Ninetales statue was. Brad took the twenty berries out of his bag and said "Ninetales hear me. I am sorry that I tried to catch you and the Vulpix. I hope that you can forgive me and relent from your thousand-year curse." Ninetales enters the mausoleum, and it jumps on the altar and accepts the offering. Then through the power of what must have been the curse Brad heard the Ninetales speak. "I see that you are not exactly sorry for what you have done because you have stolen this Pokémon from its grief, and pain. Then you chose to kill its mother and the other Pokémon I raised to haunt you. I believe that you would do anything to further your goals. I will relent my curse but if you ever grab my tail again. I will see to it that you are trapped in the curse for ten thousand years."

Then Brad went back to the Trainer Club drenched from what happened that day and smelling foul from the contents of all of the Pokémon that he had to kill. Scott walked up to him "Looks like you have quite the day. Mind explaining to me what happened?" Brad replied "Well the Ninetales in the Graveyard cursed me and I had to defeat the undead Pokémon. It was a lot I really do not want to talk about it all, but I got stuck in the rain, and had to kill zombie Pokémon." Scott replies "Yeah that happens about once year around here believe or not. The grave digger will have to put all the bodies back. Thanks for telling me!"
