Pokemon: The Journey of Manji

7. Kirkland

When Brad walked into Kirkland a sort of punk walked up to Brad. That is when he called upon his Hypno. "You want to give me fifty dollars." said the trainer of the Hypno. While he was saying this Hypno was using hypnosis on Brad. Brad was shaking with fear from the Hypno. He had not liked Hypno since he had been kidnapped by a Drowzee. "Hey why did that not work? You are suppose to be in a trance, and a give me fifty dollars." Brad responded "I really do not like Hypno please put it back in its Pokeball." The punk went "Ha! No Thank you! I am going to face you either way. I will just battle you to take your money." Then Brad used Venasaur and with one vine whip Hypno was unable to battle. It was then that Brad bound the punk in a vine whip attack, and started to find the gym leader. A man said "Hey what are you doing to that man?" Brad responded "He was using his Pokémon for evil. I want to find justice." Then the man said "My name is Phoenix. I am the gym leader of this city. I am not going to do anything about this punk. You can let him go. This city is full of lowlifes like him. We as the psychic community seek to better ourselves through our abilities. Our abilities gives us the right to use those that are not psychic. I look down upon any challenger that is not Psychic. I am a seer. I know that you will not become anything in your Pokémon challenge. You might as well go home." Brad said, "Well if you are a seer what Pokémon do I have in my party." Phoenix responded "Venasaur and Persian. They are probably the only Pokémon that you could catch." Brad laughed "You obviously cannot see the past because I have many more Pokémon, I was just evolving my Meowth into Persian it was all that I needed." Phoenix said "Give many one reason that I should battle you." Brad said "I have collected all the badges from Davison to this point. You should fight me because I have proved myself." Phoenix said "Get over this air of superiority you should go to the Trainer Club rest, and then leave Kirkland for good."

Brad arrived at the Trainer Club, and immediately talked to Scott. "Is it weird that the gym leader would not want to face me?" Scott responded "That does go against the league rules, and I have not to this point had to get the Elite Four out here to punish him. I would just try to help the people here until Phoenix recognizes you as a worthy trainer. He usually looks for victims to prove that Psychic people are superior to not psychic not many people that do not have the sight win his gym. I will say this is what worked for people in the past. People worked to help the not psychic people in Kirkland to take revenge on psychic people. When you do this enough you finally get the attention of Phoenix which will assume that you are in the wrong. If you beat him, he might give the badge. He might sulk and not give you the badge and make you fight him again. That is what he does. It is not exactly fair or anything, but he is an evil man that cannot stand losing in any compacity to a not psychic person. You need to win for all of us not psychic people in Kirkland. So, get busy with the things on the bulletin board."

A Cleaning Disaster

When Brad had rested up, and woke up the next day Brad went straight to the bulletin board. "Please help me. I was coerced into cleaning my neighbor's house because of his Hypno used hypnosis on me. I need revenge on the psychic." Brad found this one interesting slavery was never acceptable. It was not acceptable to use free labor to get your household chores done. That is when Brad went to the house of this psychic. He knocked on the door, and said "Hey did you get your neighbor to clean your house without paying him?" Then the psychic said "yes he always does a good job. I get him to o it every other week. He is a not psychic so I can treat him how I want." Brad then said "Not exactly you cannot torture individuals. I am here to punish you, and get revenge for the not psychic community." Then the psychic used an Alakzam. Brad thought about Hypno, and that made him furious.

That is when Brad used his Gengar to attack the Alakzam. Alakzam used teleport to be unpredictable for the Gengar. Then Brad sent his Gengar to go inside the house. This was so that every attack would mess up the man's house. Alakzam would teleport as soon as Gengar used shadow ball. Every time Gengar missed Alakzam would mock Gengar. He used a psychic attack on Gengar, but Gengar broke through. That is when Gengar had an idea. Gengar started to pop into the shadow of Alakzam using shadow sneak. Then Gengar would attack Alakzam with shadow sneak and get the damage. It seemed like the man would get even more furious every time his Pokémon would get hit with a "Inferior type move." He would scream and shout that the attack had not been that effective or would say not very effective. It was clear that Alakzam did not feel the same way. Then Alakzam got too tired to teleport to other spots. That is when Gengar started to nail the Alakzam with a barrage of shadow ball attacks. That did the trick and made the Alakzam faint. The man almost fainted himself. He said "I guess I will have to get that man back in here soon."

That is when Brad realized that just defeating the people would not be good enough. Lt was that Brad would have to teach them what he had already learned. He would need to teach the not psychics how not to be hypnotized. So he went to the man that made the request house. Brad said "I completely destroyed that man's house, but he said that he was just going to use you again to clean the house. You must think of something else when he is trying to hypnotize you. When they try to hypnotize me, I am thinking about how this Drowzee once took me captive in a graveyard for a whole week. It makes me so furious that I cannot think about anything else." That man thanked him and informed him that he would be thinking about Oran berry air freshener because it made him mad. The reason being is that he likes the smell of vanilla that much better.

Now the next time the psychic tried to pick on this man he kept screaming Oran berries. It was rather silly to everyone in town but when the not psychics saw what he was doing they also tried it. This did not work as well as the anger that it brought to the one man, but for some the laughter brought on stopped them from getting used by the psychic community. So brad ended up doing a favor for the whole not psychic community that day by teaching one man the trick to not being hypnotized. This made the greater psychic community mad though because they were not getting any of their chores done. Now this victory was told around the whole Kirkland community and both sides knew who Brad was because of it. The not psychics hailed Brad as the king of their community, and the greatest man to ever live. While psychics of the community openly plotted to jump Brad and overwhelm him by Psychic force to get him to do their bidding.

The Big Mean Bully

Now Brad went for another day of looking at the bulletin board because he could not get the attention of the gym leader. Even though he was famous across the town for teaching the man how not to be hypnotized. Therefore, he had to keep helping the not psychic community in Kirkland to get the attention of Phoenix. The one that Brad saw this day said this "Help me I am being bullied by a big kid. He is using his psychic powers and Pokémon to make me hit myself." Now Brad was not really looking forward to putting himself in a childish feud, but he would help anyone.

Brad headed to the playground near the school and saw the kid that gave him the request. That is when the bigger boys walked up to the kid and started mocking the boy. They ridiculed him from not coming from the right family. They called him a terrible pedigree. They also started bucking their front teeth out and mocked him saying Rattata Rattata. Then the big boy who could have physically beaten this boy up called out his Abra and got it to confuse the boy to hit himself. The boy thought that it was quite an amusing game. That is when Brad called out his Snorlax. The boy tried to use teleport to get away from the Snorlax, and body slam. The trouble was that Snorlax was so wide that he teleported to a part that was still in the realm of Snorlax's huge belly. That is when the friends of the big boy's friends used their Drowzee, and Mr. Mime. The Mr. Mime put a barrier around itself so that it could not get hit by a attack. This also meant when it went to use psybeam on the Snorlax that the attack did not make it out of the box. The Drowzee was leveled with a body slam attack and was out of the battle. Then Snorlax mimicked open up a door near the Mr. Mime. Then Snorlax tried to enter the box, but it did not work. Then Snorlax mimicked taking a gun and shooting the Mr. Mime. This seemed to work, and the Mr. Mime could not battle after that.

The schoolboys did not start to cry after they had been thoroughly thrashed. They screamed to the top of their lungs Brad alert. This got about five adults all of psychic origin to come over and help the three bullies. That is when the five adults saw the new little not psychic boy, Brad, was fighting with three psychic kids. They sent out three Hypno, one Kadabra, and one Exeggutor. That is when Brad told Snorlax to fall asleep. Which is not what the adults were expecting. Then Snorlax started to snore. This was so loud that everyone in a hundred yards could hear what was going on. Then the crowd started to talk about how Brad was fighting the psychics. The snore attack seemed to have work at getting people's attention. That is when one of the Hypno was knocked out by a Megahorn from a Nidoking. "Hey thanks for the help," said Brad. "No problem" said the man that Brad had helped yesterday. The other two Hypno started to lift the Nidoking with psychic. Then Snorlax took out both with body slam while they were not looking. The Kadabra looked at both of the Pokémon and got hit with a shadow ball from Haunter. "You are doing a great job Brad!" said a random girl. That is when a Charizard landed and hit the Exeggutor with a flamethrower attack. "Hi Brad! It is good to see you again!" said Michael. The psychic adults did not like what was happening, but they knew that they were outnumbered. Since they were outnumbered, they retreated while making rude gestures to the not psychics.

"Micheal! Nice save my friend thank for helping out with the battle." Said Brad. Then Michael responded "Yeah, I heard what was happening in Kirkland and I came to see if the rumors were true. I do not like people acting like they are better just because of their talents." Brad said "I totally agree. We cannot leave this town until we are sure that they will not be mistreated for being regular people. We need to fight for the right of not psychic people until they are free." Michael said "Now my plan is to study their habits, and cause chaos. I will also just patrol the city because that usually gets me at least a few psychics to correct." Brad said "Scott said that I need to do work that is found on the bulletin boards until I get noticed by Phoenix so that is what my plan is."

The Orphans

Brad got up for another day of class warfare, and acts of civil disobedience. On this day Brad saw another weird job on the bulletin board. "Come to the Orphanage. I will fill you in on the details as soon as you get here." Brad though this was very weird. He usually got the general idea of mission before he accepted. This one though it just seemed like the right thing to do. So he went to the orphanage to find out just what was wrong.

When he made it there he met with the orphanage mom. She said "I cannot take it anymore. These kids they did nothing wrong. These are the kids that the psychic families will drop off here, and abandon because they "want to keep the bloodline pure." It is a disgusting practice. They need to step up and raise these kids. They need to take care of their kids that is not psychic. Keeping the bloodline pure is the most ancient and disgusting practice that they could try to excuse this veery heinous act with." Then Brad said "Well I am not very sure what I can do about parents not wanting their kids, but I can try to do something about it. Mission accepted." The lady said "Here darling this is a list of the names of the people that did this. It is their addresses, and everything that you might need to get revenge.

Now brad walked through a park on his way to talk to Scott about this mission. When he was passing through he saw a man, and others were passing him. It seemed that the man was somehow giving information to the other people. That is when Brad saw Michael in the sky, and sent him a message to follow one of the people that had seemingly received the message. Brad followed from a distance. While Michael followed him in the air. It was a while until he made the mistake of going down a dark alley way. That is when Michael descended on the man with his Charizard. Charizard grabbed this man, and put his head in his mouth. Brad asked, "Okay what is going on that only psychics can hear?" The man said "I do not know what you are talking about." Brad said "It was clear that all of the psychics were getting a message from that man. Probably communicating from mind to mind with psychic powers. So start talking because I do not want your head to be bitten off, but my friend here well he might just be crazy enough to do it. He does not like the pompous ways of the psychic in Kirkland." The man then changed his tone and said "Alright there is a meeting of all the psychics in Kirkland tonight. We are going to meet in the Warehouse down in the docks. The code to get in is 'Abra Kadabra Alakzam.' Just let me go okay. Please let me go."

That night Brad, Michael and Hayden all went to this meeting. When they got to the door, they thought that they might not get in or that they would be attacked because of false password, but that did not happen. They walked in and sat down now seventy five percent of the town was in the warehouse. It seemed like they would have no way to fight there way-out of this situation. Well, that did not stop these three boys into making chaos. When the psychic leader Phoenix got up to the podium, he called out three of his Pokémon. He called our Mr. Mime, Alakzam, and Hypno. Phoenix said "we are here to meet about the children that seem to plague of town with the idea that not psychic are the same as psychic people. We are far superior because of our great mental strengths." Then Phoenix went on and on about his own terrible ideas that only made people worse. While he was talking about the importance of mental strength. Three Gengar came out of the shadows and used shadow ball on Phoenix's Pokémon. This knocked all of them out and made a great distraction. So, Michael flew all three of them up to the podium. That is when Brad started to take the microphone.

"The citizens of this town have worked the poor orphanage worker to the bone. She has been taking care of your children. She has watched over them while you go around abusing your powers. You have left your children with her because you see them as a blot on your bloodlines. Yet I would say that you are the blot on your family wreaths. Now I want to acknowledge that the families of Smith, Washington, Johnson Brown, Williams, Miller and Jones. You have all chosen to give a way children that you have not found pure. You are all well off enough to take care of those children but chose to leave them with the orphanage. You are the most disgusting kind of people. I call all of you an out before your friends and family that you should claim your kids and take care of them. You will not overwork the orphanage anymore." Phoenix retorted "Is that all you wanted to say, boy. You have failed we as the psychic community will always keep our bloodline pure. You have assaulted my Pokémon in an untimely fashion. Not in battle, but while I was giving a speech. You are a dastardly little disgusting human. I give you an order go to the Trainer Club. When a council is held, we will see what we are to do with you." Brad, Michael and Hayden all decided to go to the Trainer Club because he had finished what he came to do.

Once brad got back to the Trainer Club he saw Scott and talked with him about what happened. He said that this has been a concerning trouble for a while now. Now Scott had not managed to imagine that three boys would come in and cause chaos. Scott mentioned that he quite liked the fact that they had caused some chaos to get the conversation started. Scott said that Brad was not allowed to leave the Trainer Club for the time being. He thought that it was too dangerous for Brad. The psychic community was mad at him, that they would probably do all they could to not have to take blame for their grievances on not psychic people. Brad, Michael, and Hayden were all stuck in the Trainer Club until further notice.

Gridiron in Kirkland

The boys were all stuck inside of the Trainer's Club until what was probably going to be an unfair jury decided their fate. The events of last night were grand but did wound them up in this situation where they were bored in the Trainer Club. This mad Brad has the idea that they would play the game Gridiron with their Pokémon. He had done this in a tournament once. It was quite a lot of fun, so Brad convinced Michael to play while Hayden watched.

Now Michael chose Charizard, Nidoking, Tauros, Gengar, and Lapras. Brad chose Pidgeot, Poliwrath, Dragonite, Alakzam, and Machamp. The boys flipped the coin, and Michael was the first on offense. Starting on the twenty-yard line Nidoking, the quarter back for Michael's team, gave the ball to Tauros for an impressive twenty-yard run. The run was stopped by Poliwrath that caught up with Tauros and used submission to stop him. The offense lined up, and Nidoking threw the ball to Charizard. Charizard was taken down by Pidgeot who used air slash attack. This put Michael on the ten-yard line. Michael gave the ball to Lapras for a touchdown. Lapras sped his movement up with an ice beam on the field. The score was now 7-0 for Michael's team.

That is when Brad's team started to be on offense. Brad's quarterback was Poliwrath that was very strong and could throw the ball precise. Now Poliwrath shot the ball of Pidgeot, and they got a twenty yard carry when Charizard used flamethrower on it to knock it down. Then Brad got Poliwrath to fake throwing the ball to Dragonite, and then Poliwrath ran the ball itself for a ten-yard gain. The next play Alakzam was high up in the air with a teleport attack, and Poliwrath threw it to it. That is when Alakzam started to levitate towards the endzone when it was brought down by Michael's Tauros on the one yard line. That is when Poliwrath threw the ball on the next play, and the ball was intercepted by Gengar. Who got it all one hundred yards to the other endzone making the score 14-0.

Now Brad had the ball again because Michael just scored even though he was on defense. Brad started the drive of with run move with Machamp. Which was effective because Machamp had three arms to stop the defense from getting him down which was good for thirty three yards. Charizard got Machamp down by using a wing attack. Now the next play it looked like Poliwrath gave the ball right back to Machamp, but really kept the ball. Which confused the defense to run after Machamp again. That is when Poliwrath ran the ball all the way to the endzone to make the score 14-7.

The next play Michael was on offense at the twenty-yard line. The first play Poliwrath rushed Nidoking to get him down before he could throw. This move is commonly called a sack. Which made Michael move back to the ten-yard line. Then Nidoking passed the ball to Charizard which Alakzam stopped by bringing him down with psychic. Then Nidoking threw it to Gengar, but Alakzam caught him with psychic before it gained any yards. Now Michael had one more chance to make it beyond the thirty-yard line. Michael was on the twenty-five and Nidoking ran for the thirty-yard line. Nidoking was met on the twenty-nine and three quarters yard line by a dragon tail from Dragonite. This was debated by the two boys, but Hayden said that Brad was right. Now brad had got the ball on the twenty-nine and three quarters yard line. Then Poliwrath rushed the ball to get to the nineteen-yard line because when a Pokémon got close it used dynamic punch. Then Poliwrath threw the ball to Dragonite that got the ball all nineteen yards. This mad ethe score at an equal fourteen each. Which made the game seem more intense. The boys then heard some loud sirens. It was unclear what was happening, but it was clear that it was not going to be good.

Then on all the screen in the whole Trainer Club was the face of Phoenix. "Dear residents of Kirkland I have an announcement that I want to make. Last night three boys came to a town meeting that was meant for only psychic people. The discussion I have been having is what the council agreed on. All not psychic people are here by forced to obey a curfew. All not psychic people are also granted the right to assemble. I know how gracious of me. What I mean is that all not psychic people will be staying at the Trainer Club until further notice. You are to abandon your homes. They will be sold to psychic people the want to move to Kirkland. You will not get the money from the houses. Any not psychic person found outside the Trainer Club at night will be forced into psychic slavery for the foreseeable future. Thank you for applying these orders to your daily lives."

It was clear that Brad and Michael were not going to get to finish their game. That is when Brad went over to Scott and asked where they could help in the effort to make room for everyone. Scott replied that he could help the girl over there. That girl happened to be Kimber, a girl Brad though was very cute. Brad walked over and said that he was going to help her. While they were working Brad told her why they were in a situation like this. She had just gotten into town. She did not know about the trios little meet up with Phoenix. She did not even know about the psychics in town yet. When Brad finally finished telling her what happened Brad was scolded like he was a little child. She was not happy that Brad, Michael, and Hayden had provoked all of this. She did agree though that something must be done about Phoenix, but outward attacks of violence, and threats to take the life of their leader was probably to far. At this point they had set up a room that about twenty five people were going to share. It was not going to be a n easy life, but it was what they were going to have to do to help the people of Kirkland. Kimber, Hayden, Michael, and Brad all stayed in the same room near each other that night.

The Attack

In the middle of the night Brad, Hayden, Kimber, and Michael were shaken awake by Scott. "You guys need to get to the attic. It was the only place that we do not have people. You can't trust anyone except yourselves. Listen quickly Team Ancient had spies in town. When they heard about the curfew they decided to attack. Now they are headed toward the Trainer Club. They probably do not know that you are here, but nothing good would happen if they found you here." That is when the four trainers ran up to the attic and laid back down. None of them felt like sleeping, Michael said "I wish we could help in the fight. Why did Scott send us up here?" Kimber reminded him "If you leave the trainer Club you will be forced into psychic slavery remember. The psychics of this town would simply attack you along with Team Ancient."

Now Hayden asked, "I wonder why they would try to attack Kirkland." Michael suggested "I know! They probably wanted to show the world who were the bigger bigots." Brad said "They have been collecting pieces of the Old King's attire. It is said that if all the pieces are brought together, they owner will come with great power. I bet they are attacking for general chaos, and to get another piece of the King's attire. If they have another piece, they have over half of the attire that they need to devastate the region of Manji. We need to come up with a way to defeat the super powered king." Kimber responded "Well we got to understand what we need to do first. We need some sort of plan. We could do research on another powerful Pokémon to defeat the Pokémon that he is going to summon." They all agree, and suddenly see a bookshelf. On the bookshelf was a book about the legend of three. It was said that a great trainer rose up that three challenged for his purity. When they battled the man won his fight and the three served the man. The three Pokémon were known as Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. These three would only appear to a trainer that could win against them and was considered pure.

Now for each of these the trainer would have to go through different trails to gain the trust of the legendary bird trio. If the trainer could challenge the birds, defeat all of the trials, and was pure of heart then he could face the legendary bird. The children all talked about who would be the one to face the different trails. They all agreed that they would all start the trail, but whoever finished them first would have the chance to face the legendary birds.

Now Brad and the gang heard the battle raging on from the attic. It seemed like the Trainer Club was under attack, but the sound did not get any closer. It was if the battle was right outside of the Trainer Club constantly. Once the kids woke up for the morning Scott came in and explained what had happened. The battle had raged for a long time but Team Ancient had not made it into the Trainer Club. It seemed that twenty five percent of town held their position better than the rest of the town. Last night the group that faced Team Ancient had surrendered. When surrendering they gave Morrim the breastplate of the old kings' attire. Which is what the kids had feared. Scott also informed the league that this had happened. They were supposed to be sending help, but they did not know when they would come.

The Parade

Now Brad spent the next couple of days training the people on the inside of the Trainer Club. That is when the same siren that announced the curfew went off. Morrim showed up on the screen. He was decorated in the crown, breastplate and scepter of the old king's attire. "Today is a day of celebration. It is the day that Kirkland has fallen into the hands of the great Morrim. It just the first great battle to be remembered for all of history. It is the day that the great king defeated the extrasensory psychic population of Kirkland. One would have thought that they would have seen it coming seeing as there are psychic. I guess not everything is as it seems. I am going to make this clear we have capture Phoenix, and all of his phony physics. I am going to celebrate with a parade. Anyone willing to defect to Team Ancient is welcome to do this at this time. Please consider what your life is like now. Soon you will run out food then you will starve in the siege of the Trainer Club. Consider turning to the right side of history. Into the arms of your once and future king.

Now Brad and the rest had an idea. Brad discussed with Scott that they could demoralize the side fo Team Ancient. The demoralization could happen by attacking the parade, and maybe we could get back some of the psychics. Scott reminded Brad that the psychics would never do that for the not psychics of Kirkland. Brad responded, "Sometimes a hero has to be better than the people he saves." Now Brad sent out his Dragonite, and Michael got on his Charizard. Kimber and Hayden took a ground assault. This was extra civil because they did not know what was going to happen if they were defeated, they would be captured.

So, Brad and Michael set out to damage from above. While Kimber and Hayden decided to get on street that the parade was passing, and attack when the time was opportune. That is when Brad and Michael were flying above the city that they saw Phoenix. Now capturing Phoenix was not going to be as easy a swopping down to get him. Brad had to fight his way to Phoenix. Losing Phoenix on the parade route would be a great loss for Team Ancient. Brad did in fact descend to the roof. With Michael descending on the one on the other side of the parade. Now not many people check their roofs for people are Pokémon because why would they be up their in the first place. So Michael and Brad went unspotted. This was the plan that Michael would call out his Pokémon and attack the parade from the front of the caravan taking Phoenix. Brad would attack from the back when they were not expecting. This plan did not come without flaws because if either of them were caught they would be a greater prize that Phoenix because of their continual attack on Team Ancient.

Michael started the attack with Nidoking that hit the front of the party. There was a gap between the parade between different prisoners. That is when Nidoking hit the Team Ancient with an earthquake attack. The front of the party all summoned their Pokémon while the people at the back rushed forward to helping the lone trainer that was defying Team Ancient. Little did they know that Brad was in the back of the party, and he flew down on Dragonite, and used dragon tail on the chains that held Phoenix. Then Brad told Phoenix to jump on the Dragonite. He did not like the idea of taking Brad's charity. He did not like it because he had clearly not learned his lesson. That is when Brad's Dragonite grabbed Phoenix, and they flew off to the Trainer Club. Now Michael was not far behind because he gave orders from his Charizard's back. One last surprise was given to Team Ancient though Michael left Lapras on the rooftop before sending Nidoking down. He had Lapras use ice beam to make that section of road impassable. Michael called all of his Pokémon back and flew back on Charizard to the Trainer Club.

Now Brad did not get civilians before the parade was over. It ended at a makeshift stage where three palanquins were placed. One was more ornate than the others. Brad watched from a distance on a rooftop with Michael, Hayden, and Kimber. That is when Morrim started his speech. "I have the esteemed honor of ruling over Kirkland. I have captured your greatest fighter. I know that you will not be able to fight without him. Come and see your great gym leader." That is when the cart behind the stage did not produce the gym leader. "What is the meaning of this! You, grunts, better not have lost the gym leader. Ugh! I cannot rely on any of you! Thana! Ponos! Go and get the gym leader back we need him to stop out the flame of hope amongst these psychics." That is when Kimber and Hayden started to chuckle. Morrim continued "Thana! Ponos! Then he looked into the other two palanquins and no one was there.

A Gym Battle

Phoenix said "I believe that you have done me a great service. Even though the danger is not past what we can do now is make one another better. I accept your challenge of my gym. We shall face each other in a gym battle here at the Trainer Club." Brad happily agreed to face Phoenix he thought that it might even raise the spirits of the people at the Trainer Club. Phoenix continued "Oh and Brad there is a special rule that you must follow in my gym. This is a three on one match meaning that you only get one Pokémon to my three. This rule is because you are not psychic and should tested even harder at my gym. Do not think that I have changed my mind about you since you have saved me." Brad accepted the terms knowing that if he won he would not be refused his badge.

Brad used his Nidoking to fight Phoenix because he knew Phoenix would underestimate a Nidoking going against him. Phoenix scoffed at Brad for using a poison type in a gym battle. When they started to fight Phoenix used a Mr. Mime to fight Nidoking. Mr. Mime started by using a barrier attack. Then Nidoking walked up to the barrier attack. He knew the attack pattern of Mr. Mime so he opened the door. Which shocked Mr. Mime, and Nidoking got a massive Megahorn attack. Mr. Mime then used psybeam to keep Nidoking away from it. Nidoking barreled through the attack. Then again landed a Megahorn on Nidoking. The Mr. Mime started to faulter and Mr. Mime's knees began to knock. That is when Nidoking used earthquake to knock Mr. Mime over. Mr. Mime jumped into the air, and started to climb a barrier made with his feet. Nidoking jumped up climbed the stairs it could not see, and hit Nidoking with Megahorn right of the staircase that Mr. Mime had made. Mr. Mime started to mime a rope to catch but that did not work, and Mr. Mime fell on the hard ground. Nidoking did a backflip onto the ground causing a great earthquake attack. The attack knocked out Mr. Mime.

Brad then mocked Phoenix "Hey Phoenix in a fair fight I would have already won. What are you going to do know?" that is when Phoenix called Hypno out. "I heard you did not like this Pokémon. I decided to use it when you started to run your mouth." That is when Nidoking started the battle with a earthquake attack. Hypno then went for a hypnosis attack. Brad got an idea and used thrash. Nidoking hit Hypno with a thrash Hypno continued to attack with hypnosis. This song and dance went on for three turns. Phoenix exclaimed "Why is that Nidoking not falling for my hypnosis attack?" Brad explained "Anger flows within its veins, and that is not letting Hypno get to him. Oh and that also works for people as well." That was said in front of all the not psychics in town because no one had anything else better to do than watch this match. Now with one more hit of thrash attack Hypno was down and Nidoking was confused.

That is when Phoenix used his last Pokémon Exeggutor. "The Pokeball for my Alakzam is still at the gym. I sure hope Alakzam is okay, but I am just going to have to defeat you with this Pokémon." That is when Brad laughed and used earthquake attack to get close to Exeggutor. When Exeggutor stood up it was nailed with a Megahorn attack. It took Exeggutor til the count of nine to get back up. That is when Exeggutor shot three eggs at Nidoking. They all blew up in the face of Exeggutor. That is when Nidoking fell down. It was slow to get up, but it was a one on three fight. No one would expect Nidoking to give a better presentation. Nidoking then got up charged towards Exeggutor and landed a Megahorn. Then shook the ground to make the Exeggutor fall over. Then Nidoking did not let up the attack. Nidoking did a body slam attack just like Nidoqueen would by doing a backflip. That is when the little referee called the match. "Exeggutor is unable to battle. Brad is the winner of the one versus three match. Gym leader Phoenix please confer the gym badge to this challenger. Gym leader Phoenix please confer the gym badge to this challenger." The little robot referee looked confused.

"I will not confer the esteemed Sight Badge to someone who does not have the sight. It would be disgraceful. I am sorry but you cheated by asking me to fight during a full on battle for my city. I would have won if I had my Alakzam on my side. You would not have stood a chance with that Nidoking of yours. I did not lose I was cheated!" declared Phoenix. That is when the crowd started to boo, holler, hiss and even throw things at their gym leader. They called him all kinds of names, and some that should not be repeated on your worst of enemies. That is when Scott stepped in saying "Hey Phoenix give the badge or I am going to have to kick you out of the Trainer Club." Phoenix was appalled "you are going to do what! You would never do that to another human. Send me into the hands of my enemies." Scott said "Well I can't let the only refugee shelter in this battle turn into a riot. Confer the badge." That is how Brad got the Sight Badge from the impossible Phoenix.

Negotiations

When Morrim realized that Thana and Ponos had been captured in the parade he decided that negotiations were an obvious next step. Now the admins of Team Ancient were retreated to the Cabell Town. This was because there was no neutral land in all of Kirkland. So they decided to meet in the valley between Cabell Town and Kirkland. The negotiations were to take place without interference from either side. So Morrim would be able to see Ponos and Thana from a distance, and the Cabell Town side would get to see the psychics that had been caught. They were supposed to meet without any back up. They would set up a table talk in the middle of the valley, and Scott would talk for the people of Kirkland. That is because he thought that Morrim might make take the time to capture anyone else that might try to negotiate with him. On the day the two would meet with obvious back up on the top of the valley to insure that there was not any shenanigans going on from either party.

Now the day of the negotiations came. Morrim met Scott at the bottom of the valley. Morrim was not wearing the crown, scepter or, breastplate. It was clear that he thought that he might be captured and did not want to risk these items. Now the negotiations started with saying that he was willing to give up five of the psychics for both of his admins. Scott started to laugh. He said he would give one of the admins for all of the psychics. The children all wondered what was so funny about the negotiations from their point in the valley. They did not now that both men started off with terrible offers for the other.

After what felt like hours but was more likely to just be a few minutes the two men shook hands. It had seemed that they had come to deal. Which seemed strange to brad because he dd not actually believe that they were going to come to a meeting point. It was when the children started to bring Thana and Ponos down that it happened. Five Aerodactyl all charged towards the children. They all summoned their Pokémon and decided that they would make sure that their captives were not taken by force. Hayden was the fastest though. Blastoise used hydro pump to knock out all five of the Aerodactyl. Waves of flying Pokémon started to come at them. Fortunately, not one of them believed that this was not going to actually work. So, Brad brought Dewgong to freeze the flying waves. Thana and Ponos tried to get away in the chaos, but the remote that Scott gave them was used, and they forced to bend backwards. Their hands were being forced to touch their ankles with an electromagnetic handcuff and shackles.

Now the Team Ancient grunts on the ground started to attack the children, but fighting uphill is something that never works out for the attacking army. Then Michael used Lapras to make the hill slick so that the attacking army could not walk up the hill. Unfortunately, in this mess Brad tried to help Lapras by using Dewgong. The problem came when the lack of attack on the air front let Aerodactyl fly in and grab the two admins for Team Ancient.

Promptly after Morrim had his prize he called the retreat. Now they all ran towards Kirkland which had been their base since the attack. When they got to the entrance of the town their stood five trainers. That is when Pokémon started to fly out of their Pokeballs. The trainers used bug, flying, fairy, ice, and one trainer that seemed to be leading them with all different types. Now it was very clear that no one was going to get past these four trainers. Scott smiled a wide smile when he saw who it was. Brad, and the others were very confused, but Scott explained that was the Elite Four and the champion. His call had finally gained their recognition.

Now the bug front was seemingly taking some hits because of the type of advantage of rock against bug. They still valiantly fought Team Ancient back. Now Team ancient was fighting on both sides. There is no need to say that never ends well for the man that is surrounded. That is when team Ancient started going back to the caves that they had come out of when they started the battle. Now these caves might as well have been labyrinths they would not be able to capture them if they all went to the caves. Unfortunately, at the first sight of the Elite Four Thana, Ponos, and Morrim all ran towards the caves. They had filled with the cowardice, and did not stand a fight with the regular soldier. Now when the battle had cleared it was apparent that the psychics of Kirkland that had been captured were not taken to the caves with Team Ancient. They were let go in the valley because of the fact that they would be dead weight. No one was going to believe that team Ancient would trade fairly for them. Therefore having captives would only cause them resources.

The Elite Four were overjoyed that they had one the day. When Scott and Brad and the others finally made it to them they explained everything. "We were getting reports about how Phoenix had gone made with control over Kirkland. We heard that he was treating his people poorly. We had come to investigate, and maybe even strip him of the title of gym leader. When we go to town it was clear that the town was devoid of all people. All of the people that were in the town were at the Trainer Club," said one of the men. A lady interjected "I did see a few Team Ancient grunts around town but it was clear all of his forces were being placed on attacking, and not defense. We captured them, and that was that." Blake jokingly said "As I was saying before I was rudely interrupted, we decided to look for the people. We know how many people were supposed to be here, and not everything was adding up. Well, that is when Amelia here saw the negotiations going on, and we decided to block their way back into Kirkland." That is when another lady said "You child I believe that you were wiser in battle than I. You used your Lapras with wisdom, and power. Forcing your enemy to retreat with an ice slide. What a magnificent idea!"

The man then exclaimed "Oh we have not done introductions yet! I am Blake and I am your Manji region Champion!" The one of the ladies said "I am Amelia I am the flying type master of the Elite Four. I also provided the air assault in the battle." The lady that impressed by Michael's tactics said "My name is Elsa ice type mater of the Elite Four. I am also the oldest member of the Elite Four if you could not tell. I know that my beauty is still beyond measure." The last lady says "I am Vailnav! Hey, listen to my intro. I am the fairy type master of the Elite Four." Finally, the other man spoke and said "My name is Joey. Bug type master of the Elite Four." Then Blake said, "Who are you all?" Kimber said, "I am Kimber I am on my Pokémon Journey I look to figure out what I want to do, and who I want to be on this journey." Michael said "I am Micheal, and I like chaos!" Hayden, who was still a bit starstruck, said "Hayden I am Hayden." Scott said "you know me I am Scott, and my family is in every town helping young trainers become the very best." Everyone started to laugh because Scott, and his family was in every town. There was no way that they could not have known who he was. Then it was Brad's turn to introduce himself. Brad said "I am Brad. Future Champion of Manji, and I am going to defeat all five of you to get there. Once I have all of my badges." This made the entire party laugh quite hard. For the Elite Four it was because they hear this so often that it was quite funny. Also, the audacity of a child to tell them that they were going to lose to them. The other side the children laughed because they felt terribly awkward from the statement brad made. "Oh, and I am Phoenix gym leader of the Kirkland gym." Said Phoenix. Phoenix had just walked up the hill and had just met up with the squad that had formed here. He had originally stayed in Cabell Town because they did not want him captured, but he started towards Kirkland after the battle.

"Oh, you are Phoenix. I have had the pleasure of meeting you only once, and I can say you are not at all the kind of person I would like to meet again." Said Blake. "I tried to get you fired from the gym leader position when I became champion, but I did not enough proof. You finally gave me the badge to get out of your hair. Now I am back, and we have official documents saying that there will be an audit on your gym, and how you run Kirkland." Phoenix said "You can't do this. Why am I being audited? Why are you doing this to me?" That is when Blake took his watch flicked up and played the video that incriminated the gym leader. "I believe this to be sufficient evidence, and you will be staying in Cabell Town Trainer Club. We will have people watch you so that you do not interfere with our audit. If you are found guilty then you will be sentenced to punishment and stripped of your title. We will have to find a interim gym leader for the time that you are in Cabell Town, and what might be for the time after you are sentenced. You will be carried back by Amelia here. Not that you cannot walk, but because we do believe that you would interfere, I am sending her with you." Then Amelia and Phoenix shot off on here Dragonite and flew Phoenix back to his exile in Cabell Town. Brad looked at Blake and said "Thanks for answering our call. Thank you for taking care of Phoenix."

The Trial

Now the day of the trail came, and it was held at the gym of Kirkland. It seemed like the right place to have the trial because of the great need for seating because of the great crowd that wanted to watch the trial. Phoenix walked in with his lawyer who was forbidden from using their psychic powers to talk to one another during the trail. On the other side of the court was Blake, and his lawyer which stood in place of the Pokémon League. Now unfortunately this was an issue of Blake working for the same government, the Pokémon league, as was judging the affair. For the jury not a single person was found to be nonbiased. Phoenix insisted that the psychics of Kirkland were unbiased enough to judge him, but no one fell for that trap. In the end the jury was made up of all the gym leaders of Manji. Now Blake and Phoenix did agree that this was not the best situation, but that was the only one that could agree on.

The judge said "We are here to judge the gym leader Phoenix on multiple counts of being discriminatory towards people of not psychic origin including involuntary slavery. I will hear opening statements will be heard." Blake starts "Your honor the league has found that Phoenix has been discriminatory practices in the position of gym leader. We have found that he has been doing this for period of time greater that ten years. Up until this moment every judge has thrown this case out due to insufficient evidence, but with the new evidence that we have come up with think that it is time to revisit this case." Now Phoenix opened with this "I Phoenix have used my creative talents to stretch what trainers at a great disadvantage to become better. I have never once allowed cheating in my gym except for the one time that a trainer pressured me into giving him the badge without him actually earning it. That pressure would have landed me in much worse positions than I currently in. I hope that your honor will hear my plea, and cry for justice. I have never done anything wrong or unjust in my time as the gym leader of Kirkland."

The judge said "I would like to go in chronological order. Blake if you would please take the stand." Blake said "Thank you, Your honor. I swear to tell the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth." The judge said, "Tell us about when you challenged the Kirkland gym on your Pokémon adventure." Blake said "I made into Kirkland a psychic community member who took advantage of me for many days by doing yardwork, cleaning his mansion, and working for him without pay. That man was Phoenix. When I finally woke up from the trance that I was in I went to Scott. Who also tried to go to the police to get me help. He was not allowed to get help because that is just what happens here. Now when we went with all of the evidence, we were dismissed by the police all of who were of psychic community. I then went to the gym and saw the same man that used me. He told me that I would not battle me due to me not having psychic ability. Now we called the gym leader Edgar, and Edgar forced Phoenix to battle me. Now that battle was a one on six battle. Which was not fair of course, but I still won the battle. He insisted that I cheated. Now Phoenix has put me the champion of Manji into unwilling servitude and cheated me from getting a badge. That is when Edgar convinced him to give me the badge."

Phoenix started "I want to talk about the culture of Kirkland. In this culture we have all decided through culture that what happened to Blake, and the others that are constantly used to help our society. Our society is allowed to grow and flourish because of the people that take care of the lesser work. I believe that without them the community would fall apart. A man that is of important lineage cannot be expected to clean his own house, take care of his lawn, and take care of his responsibilities to Kirkland. We use the people of lesser lineage to take care of the day to day of Kirkland. I will admit that I see people without psychic lineage as lesser. I believe that they should be put to work, and they should be in service to the better lineage of Kirkland. Now I believe the culture of our town is at stake in this trail."

Now Brad could not keep up with all of the people giving testimony in the trail. Brad had been prepped to give his own testimony. "Now Brad would you tell your story about Kirkland." asked the lawyer of Blake, and the league. "well when I first got into Kirkland I had just traversed the valley, and defeated a wild Onix that caused terror on the route. That is when a thug tried to hypnotize me to give him money. That is when I met Phoenix, and he explained what was going on in this city, and how he would not battle me because I am not of psychic lineage. After that I took on task that would put the psychic community in harm. I did this intentionally to get a battle from Phoenix. I stopped a psychic man from getting his house cleaned for free, and helped a kid that was being bullied. The real trouble came when I got the call from the orphanage saying they needed my help. I did not know what I was supposed to do. When we followed the man at the park, I know that I partook in something called vigilantism. When I attacked the meeting of psychics forcing the not psychic community to be quarantined in the Trainer Club. I was acting as a vigilante. Now I know that is not against the law to act like a vigilante in Manji. That is clear by the Trainer Club bulletin board, and the fact that I am known for my vigilante tendencies in other towns. This became useful to Phoenix when the parade happened after the attack on the town. I saved Phoenix with the help of my friends. Phoenix then faced me in battle where he gave himself a great advantage. I defeated him, and then he acted in a way unbecoming of a gym leader. He did not want to give me the gym badge but relented later." Then the lawyer for Phoenix stood up and said, "Mr. Brad did you put Phoenix's head in the mouth of a Charizard?" Brad responded with "I do not remember who put his head in the mouth of Charizard, but it was my group of friends." Then the lawyer said "Does it sound like a vigilante sticking the head of our esteemed gym leader into the mouth of a Charizard? I think not I believe that this boy should be tried on the grounds of attempted murder."

The judge had to tell the lawyer to stop suggesting that Brad did something wrong. In the end it was Brad's testimony that brought the judge to a conclusion. "I have heard all of the evidence brought by both sides of this case. I will begin sentencing right now. I Judge Johnathan of Manji sentence you Phoenix to ten years in maximum prison. You will be subjected to the Gengar treatment for all ten years. You have violently subjected the people of Kirkland to evils that should have been left in the distant past. Your title of gym leader of Kirkland has been revoked. Now for the vigilantes that tried to stop you. Brad, Kimber, Hayden, and Michael, I hereby tell you that you are no longer welcome in the city of Kirkland. When you wake up tomorrow you must depart, and you should never come back here. As far as the orphanage goes I have decided that the league will give more money to the orphanage to take care of the babies that the psychic community did not want. Finally, Kirkland will hence forth be under complete control of the Pokémon league. An Elite Four member or the Champion shall be here to control the city, and try to mend the relationship between the psychic and not psychic community."

After the long day in court Kimber, Brad, Hayden, and Michael went to the Trainer Club. They all knew tomorrow that they would never be allowed to come back to this strange town. Michael said "Can you say good riddance? I am glad to be far away from this creepy town. I am going west to the town of Wheeler. What will y'all be doing?" They all agreed that they would be headed to Wheeler, but they wanted to travel separate because they all wanted to capture wild Pokémon. The cave that was in between the two cities was prone to have a lot of Pokémon that were good for the capturing. Kimber suggested "we should all look at the Bulletin board tomorrow and help some people on the way to Wheeler. Then we could meet up on the other side of the cave, and see who helped out the most people, and caught the most Pokémon." The group was excited about the challenge that Kimber purposed, and they all got a good night's sleep.
