Having an address on their first day in Kamihama was more than Nanami had been expecting (thanks again to his sister). If he had wanted to, he and Itadori could have headed out to where Yachiyo was right away. But he needed time to think over what he and Itadori had witnessed, so he could best work out how to confront her the next day. That and he felt it would be wrong to drop something on her so late when she was likely exhausted from her own work and school.

So they had headed to their hotel where Yuji had promptly thrown himself on one of the two beds, hopping on it a bit like a child before settling down and stretching to watch the TV, though he was mostly on his phone instead of watching. Nanami could tell the teen was brimming with questions but was holding off. Maybe he figured Nanami wouldn't know the answer, or maybe it was Itadori trying to give Nanami the chance to think and process it himself. With how caring Itadori was of others, it was likely the second one.

He was struggling to understand what they'd seen, and parts of his mind wanted to dismiss it all as some dream. Jujutsu Society and everything that came with it from curses to domains would likely register as impossible to the typical person. Yet what he'd seen felt even more like some bizarre fiction than reality even for him. Domains, which were the closest thing Nanami could compare the odd space to, had some form of internal logic that didn't make him feel like he was suffering a seizure.

He excused himself from their room and into the balcony where he could look out on the city. Normally a city's light pollution would have drowned out the stars, yet somehow he could see them fairly clearly. He wondered if this was another side effect of whatever was going on, or if it was just due to the nature of the environmentally conscious city.

Nanami pulled out his phone, having missed a call from Gojo. Calling him back, he took a moment to explain their eventful evening.

"You got carried by a little girl! That's hilarious!" the white haired sorcerer answered from the other end of the line. Yes the most powerful sorcerer was someone who tended to not take things seriously….but even Nanami could admit the image would be rather comical.

"It's not." Nanami replied, "You know how I feel about putting our students in combat even with us backing them. But here it wasn't like there were any adults around besides me and my hits felt off. Not weaker, but something else I can't pinpoint. The girl seemed to have things under control but I felt she was still struggling. These girls have been fighting who knows what by themselves, and the enemy I faced was only a lackey."

"You sure you're not just losing your touch?" Gojo teased from the other end, but when Nanami just sighed in response he continued, "You said you didn't feel any cursed energy from the monster or the girls when they were transformed, that's weird as hell. And if it was a domain Sukuna would have probably poked his head out like with that Patchwork Curse you fought. Really it's all one big mystery huh?"

That was putting it lightly.

"Exactly, not to mention the barrier around the city. I can't work out its source or even its purpose. It also seems to lack cursed energy."

"Think it's for me again?"

"For an entire year? And with no reason for you to come to Kamihama? I doubt it. I feel like there's something much more than cursed spirits going on here." Nanami said. He hadn't wanted to call for Gojo, but while he didn't necessarily respect the man he could acknowledge his strength.

"Got it! I'll let you know when I can catch up with you but you'll owe me dinner for this~"

"You make more than me."

Mikazuki Villa wasn't far from their hotel, at least not by the city's excellent (even for Japan's) public transportation. They'd spent the morning investigating what they could about the lack of curses and destroyed a few minor ones, but found no new information. On the way to the villa, he and Itadori had briefly discussed scenarios for his meeting with his niece as well as best and worst case scenarios.

"We still don't know what's going on, so I don't want to come off as confrontational. That and we don't understand what her power may be if she has something like those three girls we encountered. Given that we were unable to damage the things these girls fought, it's very possible they are on a whole different level of strength than what we're used to." Nanami explained as the two approached the villa. There was also the possibility it was a different type of power altogether.

"You two are family though, even if she is involved with weird junk, so are you. I think it'll be okay." Itadori smiled.

The Villa was located in the Shinsei Ward of Kamihama City and was a quaint little space away from the more bustling parts of the city. The villa was surrounded by greenery making it feel like a traditional cottage. The building itself was primarily white with elegant dark brown window frames and art deco style accents. It was quite the sight, especially for a boarding house. Apparently Yachiyo had inherited it after her grandmother passed away.

On the record, there were three residents including his niece he was able to document. Yachiyo Nanami, Iroha Tamaki, and Tsuruno Yui. While Yachiyo was in college, the other two went to a nearby high school.

Nanami hoped that his and Itadori's visit wouldn't look suspicious to anyone in the surrounding area. "We can only hope," he said as he knocked on the door.

The sound of several girls chattering inside stopped as he knocked. While he couldn't make out words he could work out vague sounds of confusion before he heard footsteps scurrying towards the door as it was kicked open.

Nanami jumped back slightly in surprise, as if they were already being attacked, but when he saw the person who opened the door he was more puzzled. She looked younger than either of the listed ages for Tamaki or Yui. Looking at her, she must have been even shorter than Kaede, with long blonde hair that would have dragged on the floor were it not pulled up in pigtails. She had a casual outfit with a scruffy looking, oversized jacket and denim cap on her head. Her purple eyes looked over Nanami and Itadori accusingly, "Whadya want?"

He opened his mouth to respond but was beaten to the punch by Itadori, "Hey!" the teen smiled to the younger girl, "My teacher and I are looking for his niece, Yachiyo Nanami, does she live here?"

Ultimately it didn't matter who had asked the question, and Nanami had to be grateful that at least Yuji had gotten straight to the point. Still, the girl's accusatory face didn't drop, "What are you a cop?" she asked, looking up at and down Nanami, focussed more on him than Yuji.

"And that's enough of that!" another girl's voice chimed in as she hurried to the door. Similarly to the first, she had incredibly long hair drawn up into a side ponytail not dissimilar from Momoko's, albeit brown in color. Her eyes looked to be a deep orange and her outfit looked like some kind of restaurant uniform, "Sorry we don't get many visitors." she laughed as she gently coaxed the blonde to go back inside. "Welcome to Mikazuki Villa! The best place to stay this side of Kamihama! What would you like to ea- wait force of habit," she said with a bit more enthusiasm than was probably necessary. A friendly face was more welcome than an angry one.

Yuji didn't seem to mind, "Hell yeah thank you! This place looks great!" he beamed as he pumped his fist, "And I mean I'm not against having a meal."

"Is Yachiyo Nanami in?" Nanami cut in before they started chatting too much, the girl had a similar energy to Yuji and he didn't doubt the two could become fast friends if given the chance. Maybe if things went well, they would.

"Oh right that's why we're here." Yuji laughed.
"Right, I heard from inside you're her uncle yeah?" She said and in response, Nanami held out his business card to her so that he could have some way of verifying his identity. It was left over from his old job but the information was still relatively accurate aside from his job title. He wasn't sure he would actually need one as a sorcerer and so had never updated it, "Yeah, she lives here, but she's out getting groceries right now. Actually it could be a while, there's this massive sale going on at the supermarket and she's big on deals." At least Yachiyo seemed responsible, "My name is Tsuruno Yui by the way." she added with a polite bow.

Yui, well that placed one of the other two girls that was supposed to be at the villa. But given that the file said Tamaki was 15, the blonde girl seemed too young to be her. Maybe just a visitor, or family member? "That's alright, but it is rather urgent that I get to speak with her, it's regarding family." It wasn't technically a lie.

Tsuruno's face got a bit more dim but she nodded, "I understand. Well if you'd like you're welcome to wait here for her, if you want some tea I can make you guys some. Don't worry about Felicia, she can just be a little protective." she laughed.

"Sounds good to me! Nanamin?" Yuji asked his teacher.

He sighed, he really didn't want to intrude especially on a weekend, but he worried if Yachiyo saw him waiting on the doorstep she'd bolt, "Thank you, it's very much appreciated."

"Right before I forget, Yuji Itadori." the pink haired teen grinned at Tsuruno.

"Great to meet you guys." she smiled as she held the door open for them both to enter as they left their shoes at the door.

While the outside of the house looked extravagant, the inside was even more impressive. Its decor was more western in appearance with hardwood floors and green couches stacked with pillows and stuffed animals where the blonde Felicia, and another girl with medium length pale green hair sat playing a video game on the TV in the corner. The lighting of the place was warm, making it have a certain level of coziness to it that even managed to put Nanami at ease as he looked around. He had to envy the kitchen which sat open just beside the living room with a bar like counter top and several green high chairs.

"What are you guys playing?" Yuji asked, as a teen of course noticing the video game on the screen, "Wait, is this the new Smash Bros?"

Felicia looked up at him, irritated for a moment, evidently at the two men being let in, but she cheered up promptly at Yuji's question. "Hell yeah! Want to join us, Sana is absolutely ass at this game and it's getting kinda boring beating her." Ah, the many ways children could easily make friends.

"You don't have to be so mean about it!" the green haired girl, Sana, protested. Sana, that name sounded vaguely familiar in the reports Nanami had seen when researching Kamihama but he couldn't place it yet. As she turned to give Yuji space on the couch for him to sit, a look of confusion crossed her face though she didn't say anything.

"Don't worry Sana, I'm boss at Smash Bros I'll avenge you!" he assured her with a wide grin as the shyer girl handed him the controller to which he promptly selected a version of Link Nanami was unfamiliar with from the character selection screen. It had been years since he'd played any games himself.

Looking back at Tsuruno who had headed into the kitchen, he noticed she was also looking oddly at Sana and Yuji. The moment she noticed Nanami looking at her, she turned her attention away, "So about that tea!" she clapped her hands, looking through the cupboards.

Glancing at the sink it seemed there were quite a few dirty dishes, which would explain why Tsuruno seemed to be struggling to actually find cups for them. He couldn't help but notice that one of the glass cupboards had fresh cups inside, "There's cups here I believe."

Tsuruno paused and looked to where Nanami had pointed and a solemn look crossed her face, "I'm sorry those are, more like mementos, for friends who are gone… Oh here we go!" she exclaimed, managing to find two mildly chipped cups. She turned to the stove and began heating a kettle with water as she hummed to herself.

Based on the way she had said it, and the look on her face, Nanami had to guess that gone meant more than 'moved away'. He wasn't necessarily the type of person to pry unless it was for a mission. While in this case he could have possibly excused it, he felt wrong about poking a teenager over what was clearly a sensitive subject.

So he stayed in polite silence as Tsuruno brewed their tea to which he accepted graciously. Itadori on the other hand.

"How did you do that! Bowser's grab shouldn't reach that far!" he protested as he stood up from the couch in shock to which Felcia laughed.

"They buffed it for Ultimate! Sick right?" She grinned wildly, laughing almost maniacally.

"I can never move away fast enough, and it almost always one-shots me." Sana sighed.

"You're always choosing small characters so of course Bowser one-shots them!"

"Pichu is cute though…"
"You main Pichu? Dude you have so many possibilities I think it's A tier, here why don't you try playing again and I'll give you tips." Yuji suggested, passing the controller back to Sana and taking the tea from Tsuruno with a smile.

"Hey, no coaching!" Felicia protested.

Nanami watched them and a smile formed on his lips, really, after everything Yuji had been through, it was nice to see the kid being a kid. Nanami had never really had that kind of energy when he was a teenager. But looking at Yuji, he was somewhat reminded of an old friend.

"Felicia can get a bit intense at video games." Tsuruno laughed as she returned to the kitchen to watch them, leaning her arms against the counter.

"I can see." he nodded, "So is it just you kids here? Including Yachiyo I mean."

"Well there's also Iroha, she's out with Yachiyo getting the groceries but yeah! Though even with just the five of us it can get a bit hectic."

"There aren't any adults who can watch and help you girls out?" he asked, by now he was expecting someone to help keep a group of teens in some level of order.

"Uhh…Yachiyo is technically an adult."

"So no." he nodded in understanding, less than pleased at the answer but he supposed he couldn't do much about it. As long as they were taken care of that was all that mattered, and he didn't see any immediate red flags that they were out of control living on their own.

Tsuruno silently nodded herself, but looked over to the girls and Yuji playing, it looked like Sana was improving in her latest match against Felicia much to her frustration.

"Booo! I was hoping she'd never figure out Pichu was useful." she pouted.
"And that's what you get for being mean." Yuji smiled.

The teens played a few more rounds, eventually electing to do a free for all once Sana was doing better.

Eventually, the lock to the villa began to jiggle and Nanami promptly turned his attention over to the door as Yachiyo and another girl entered the villa. The girl looked to be around 15 with long pink hair. The two of them were both carrying a fair amount of brown paper bags full of groceries each.

Yachiyo's attention looked to be initially focused on Felicia, Sana, and Itadori, though she did give the latter a puzzled look before her gaze made it to the kitchen.

"Hiya Yachiyo! Your uncle came to visit!" Tsuruno waved at her.

"Yeah and he brought a doofus with him!" Felicia added.

"Hey!" Itadori protested.

Nanami half expected Yachiyo to bolt again, but instead she seemed to take a deep breath as she brought her groceries over. The other girl with pink hair followed right after. "It's been a long time," he said, walking over to help take some of the bags of groceries in.

"Yachiyo I uhh, didn't know you had an uncle. My name is Iroha Tamaki, it's good to meet you." she said with a bow to which Nanami returned.

"Kento Nanami." he introduced himself in turn, setting some of the groceries he'd taken from Iroha onto the counter.

"Yes…though we haven't seen each other in quite a few years." Yachiyo said, based on his experience dealing with people both in his previous job and current, he could tell she was trying to not worry the other girls with her reaction to his presence, "What brings you here."
"We need to talk." he said bluntly and over her shoulder he could see that the teens had paused their gaming to look over.

She quietly nodded her head and with a deep breath resolved herself, "Yes it'll be good to catch up. Iroha, Tsuruno, do you mind starting dinner for me?" Yachiyo said with what must have been a forced smile.
"No problem! You can count on the mighty Tsuruno!"

"Of course." Iroha added.

The two Nanamis headed outside to the comfortable weather as spring was coming up just around the corner.

"What do you want?" Yachiyo asked the second that they were out of earshot from the other girls and Itadori, sure to close the door behind her.

Blunt, well, that was one thing they had in common, "You should know what I want. I want to know what you were doing in that alleyway a few days ago. And how you destroyed that," he stopped himself from saying curse, no, he wanted to probe her for more information first, "Monster in a near blink of an eye. Not to mention jumping across rooftops to get away from me."

"I don't know what you're talking about. And if this is all there is you can just go. And take that boy with you, is he your son?"

Nanami sighed, "A girl named Momoko would suggest you do know what I'm talking about, and no he's my student."

At the mention of Momoko, Yachiyo grew a bit more concerned and he could tell just the mention of the other girl with odd powers meant something to Yachiyo, "What do you know?" she demanded, crossing her arms.

"That I watched you destroy that thing in a single blow. That when I tried to track you down your parents barely seemed to know you were still alive much less where you were. And when we came to investigate we ended up in an impossible space where I watched her and two other girls defeat a monster the size of a building." he said. He wasn't trying to come off as overtly harsh, but he couldn't help it, too concerned about what she could have gotten herself into.

Yachiyo sat down on the steps leading to the villa, and Nanami followed suit sitting next to her. "You wouldn't believe me even if I told you. I mean, I'm shocked you were even able to see those things."

At least she wasn't being aggressive, his concern for that was part of why he hadn't insisted Yuji come out with them, though it was also because he hoped she'd be more honest with family. "Try me." he said, reaching into his coat and pulling out his bandaged blade.

She looked at the weapon in confusion, then to Nanami, "Why do you have that?"
"I'm what's known as a Jujutsu Sorcerer, and what you fought that day I saw you was a cursed spirit, manifestations of negative energy that sorcerers like me fight to protect the general population from. Itadori is training to be one as well." he explained before putting the blade away, "I fight monsters to put it plainly, and based on what little I know, you do too, albeit ones I've never encountered myself."

Yachiyo still looked hesitant even at his explanation, "I never knew what those creatures were called," she said, as if easing to actually answering his questions. "Most people don't see them."

"Normal people don't see them." he corrected, "but we're not exactly normal are we? You're certainly not alone in that fact even if I thought I was the only one in the family who could. So is this recent, or have you been hiding it?"
She tugged on her dress, "I've seen them since I was twelve. I've fought them since then too. They're usually no problem, but some of them…" he did not like that, how had his sister missed this too? "It's…complicated. I don't understand what this…Jujutsu thing you're talking about is but…"

Well, he was getting somewhere, "The fact you're not calling me crazy tells me you at least have some knowledge of the world that makes this plausible to you. And you clearly have experience with this. I don't want to overwhelm you with details about my work, when I came here to learn about yours."

Yachiyo took a deep breath in and closed her eyes, "Have you heard of Magical Girls? Or Puella Magi?" she asked after a moment of silence between them.

While Nanami hadn't been as into Pop Culture in his teens as Gojo had, he certainly wasn't completely blind to it either, "Like Sailor Moon, or Cardcaptor Sakura?"

"Similar but not quite." she said, biting her lip, and Nanami felt like he was pressing at something she never expected anyone outside her world to poke. He supposed that would be expected, he had in a sense cornered her with his information. "When girls are around their preteens to teens, they may be visited by a creature called Kyubey. He usually appears when the girl is desperate, or wishing so longingly for something she would give anything for…and he offers her a wish. Anything in the world could be money, power, even something that should be impossible." Nanami's eyebrow raised at that last one but he listened silently as she continued.

"And in return for that wish being granted, the girl will have to fight monsters called witches for the rest of her life in order to pay back the wish she was given." she explained, extending her hand out where he saw a similar ring to the girls he'd seen on the train. Somehow he'd missed it, but with it on full display he felt the same odd energy as before. In a twinkle of light, the ring was replaced with a small, blue, decorative egg type object. "Kyubey appeared to me when I was 12 and just beginning my modeling career. I've been a magical girl since then."

"The creature you saw Momoko and her team fight was a witch. They can't operate freely normally, so they create labyrinths to act in where they lure people to their deaths. Unexplained murders, disappearances and suicides…they're often the work of a witch."

Nanami was silent as he took in what she had said. It was…something. In his mind he wanted to attribute it to something he already knew, to curses, to curse users, to Jujutsu, to something. They seemed to share their similarities, but what she had described was unexpected. "And you've been fighting these alone for seven years?" he said, in utter shock and in all honesty, fury at the information. While he'd been doing his own work believing he was doing good in the world, Yachiyo had been a literal child fighting things somehow even worse than curses yet somehow in a worse position for it. Hell, he got paid to do his job but he doubted it was the same for them.

"Not always alone." she said looking over to the villa, "The girls in the villa, they're all magical girls as well."

"Including Sana and Felicia?" he asked, "I'll admit, I researched the residents of the villa before we came here and they weren't listed as residents."

"Of course you would." she sighed, "Felicia's parents were killed by a witch and she lived on the streets before coming here, and Sana's wish made her invisible to non-magical girls so she had to run away from home. I'm honestly surprised that Itadori and you can see her."

Interesting, that explained the odd looks both Tsuruno and Sana had given them when they'd initially arrived, "I'm sorry. I wish I could have known, you still shouldn't have had to face these things at such a young age…none of you should have to."

"No we shouldn't." she agreed, "But tell me this, you said you're a sorcerer or whatever, and that blade you have, I assume you fight with it right?"

"Yes, why?"

"When you were in the labyrinth, did you try and fight?" she asked, and Nanami nodded in confirmation, "Were you able to cause any damage, to anything?"

He adjusted his glasses, "No."

"Then don't worry about it, cause there's nothing you can do to help." she replied, "Witches are hunted by us magical girls because we're," she hesitated, "we're just the ones who have to fight them. I understand this is a lot, had I been unaware of magic I'd have thought your statement on Sorcerers was insane too, but ultimately there is nothing you can do about this." she said, standing up abruptly.

"Can't you stop being a magical girl?" he asked, standing up as well. "Is there any way I can help you fight?"

"We can't." she said, clutching the odd item she had summoned before, watching it turn back into a ring, "And I don't think so…"

"Whatever penalty there is, can't it be managed, can't this Kyubey be..handled?"

"No, and if we try to stop being a magical girl, we die."

Nanami froze at that, "So you're just expected to keep doing this your whole life? If that's the case aren't there adult magical girls who could handle more of the burden?"

"No!" she snapped back at him, "I don't know how things work in this Jujutsu world of yours but for magical girls…I'm very much an outlier! Magical girls don't become adults! We die. One way or another…"

His eyes widened. Yes, his work was dangerous, incredibly so. You had to be crazy to do it. But this wasn't just crazy, it was...insane. He at least had full belief that if he was careful, he'd eventually get the chance to grow old and retire someday. And he'd also been old enough to really understand what he was signing up for, not to mention he could quit being a sorcerer whenever he wanted, "Is that really the truth?"

"Yes." she said with an exhausted breath. He could tell that this was something she'd been carrying for some time. Whether or not there were other magical girls at the villa to share the horrors with, it was evident that being able to tell someone outside of this world was practically a necessity for her at this point. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to snap or get so worked up. But I've lived with this fact for years, and the other girls, they try to not let it get to them but I know they're at different levels of struggling too. But there's hardly anything we can do about it. I mean, it's not like I could talk to a therapist about this. And the closest person we have to that is the coordinator, and she's younger than me."

Truthfully, Nanami didn't know how to respond. How to react. This was so far out of his depth that it frustrated him to no end that there was nothing he could do to help her. Based on what he'd seen, he wondered if even Gojo would have an easy time defeating those witches.

Nanami hadn't become an adult all at once when he'd turned 18. It wasn't like some magical light switch had turned on when he turned 25 either. Becoming an adult had very much been a process of life experiences, both mundane and supernatural. From his first trip to a grocery store on his own, to his first mission as a grade 1 sorcerer, they were experiences that built him into being the man he now was. It hadn't been easy in any sense of the word and while he tried not to dwell on them, he had his fair share of regrets. A million little moments where he wondered, 'What if?' that haunted him whenever he let his mind wander for too long.

But Yachiyo. No, Magical Girls as a whole, would likely lack the main thing he had during all of that. The support of someone who had lived those experiences before. Even if Yachiyo was catastrophizing the grief that magical girls faced, the fact that these girls had to hide something so great even from their own parents meant that they'd always have a distance between them and the adults in their lives. While his family was largely left in the dark about his work, at least his parents had known exactly what he was getting into when he was first scouted. Somehow, he also didn't doubt that Felicia and Sana weren't one off cases of girls being left separated, and isolated from the rest of the world altogether.

He wanted to find this Kyubey, whatever it was. Perhaps killing it could do something for them, but at the same time it could just as easily backfire horrifically, it wasn't as if he knew enough either way.

But for now, he felt himself needing to act, to do something with the information he now had about what his distant niece had been going through. Even if he was certain she was still not telling him all of it.

Before he knew it, he had pulled her into a hug, and while she initially rejected it, he heard a gentle cry come from her as she returned the hug, holding onto him tightly as she stopped herself from fully crying.

"I can't help you fight. At least for now. Unfortunately I understand that. But I want you to talk to me. You're entering a very sensitive period of your life where things will be changing quickly, and you shouldn't face it alone. I don't care what you said about magical girls dying before being adults, you will become an adult and I'll do everything to make sure of it, your friends too got it? I'll leave you my phone number, call me whenever you feel you need to. And tell them they can do the same. "

She was still trying to stop crying by the looks of it even as she left tear stains on his suit, it wasn't as if he could care about that at a time like this. But she nodded and eventually pulled away from the hug. "Thank you."

"Of course."

He and Yachiyo sat outside for a bit longer after that, partially to let Yachiyo finish crying so she wouldn't worry the other girls, but also for them to explain more of their respective situations to each other.

Nanami had always felt like he'd had the most dangerous job in the world, but magical girls somehow seemed to have it worse.

While Yachiyo invited Nanami and Itadori to stay for dinner ;which they did accept; the biggest thing on Nanami's mind was to investigate if there was any information about magical girls in Jujutsu High's libraries, or if anyone had heard anything about them. Surely over both groups' existence over hundreds of years they'd have crossed paths before this right?

"Puella Magi huh? Sounds like something outta an anime." Gojo said once they caught up with him after dinner at one of Kahmihama's many parks. Thankfully it was late enough that they didn't have to worry about anyone listening in on their conversation.

"Right? Like I wish he'd told me while we were still there. I really want to ask about their powers and stuff now." Itadori added.

"I wanted to give Yachiyo time to explain things to them before you could try bombarding them with questions." Nanami sighed, "If they're okay with it, maybe another time we can visit to get more information, it's only fair we explain more about our brand of unusual in return."

"Yeah oof, the higher ups are gonna hate that." Gojo chuckled, "But I'm gonna guess you're planning on keeping this secret huh?"

"Yes." Nanami said, resting his elbows on the park table they sat at, "I'm not typically a fan of cloak and dagger type actions, but like with Itadori it'll be best if they don't know about magical girls, assuming that they don't already know."

"Huh? Wait wouldn't it be a good thing for everyone to be in the know. So we can help each other?" Yuji asked.

"Nah, the heads of the Jujutsu World are a bunch of stingy, traditional, conservatives. Remember they still want you dead. They're afraid of shit that's too strong for them to control or understand. Now you let them know there's a group of dozens, if not hundreds or thousands of girls across the world who could outperform one of the top sorcerers. Well, might just put those old geezers in a panic." Gojo replied.

Yuji frowned, placing his chin on the park table, "Yeah I get it. Still, I feel if they could work with us a lot of people wouldn't be in so much danger."

"They have their own work. And given what we saw and what Yachiyo told me, it's possible that all witches could be registered at least first grade by our standards but likely stronger. To put it bluntly, their hands are full." Nanami said, glancing at his phone for a moment, honestly he also wanted to bombard Yachiyo with questions, but with the questions he had asked, it was already enough to rework his view of the world. "It seems too that while their magic can harm curses it's not as effective. There's likely an inherent difference in the kinds of power magical girls and witches have compared to cursed energy. But they seem to be better equipped to handle curses than we are to handle witches."

"I bet I could handle a witch." Gojo smirked, reaching into a souvenir bag he'd gotten while being 'sidetracked' in the city. He pulled out a bag of sweets that was probably just for himself. While overall Nanami found Gojo's sweet tooth a bit childish, he also knew that it was largely a side effect of the six eyes that required extra stimulus. Especially when Gojo was in deeper thought, "I mean, these labyrinths are kinda like domains aren't they? Where the witch has full control, but at the same time hits aren't guaranteed so it should be weaker than a domain."

"You weren't there Satorou." Nanami said as he watched Gojo pop a few candies into his mouth. "It wasn't as if I was weaker, these things were simply stronger, or at the least made of something cursed energy wasn't as effective against. Yachiyo suggested it may have been a stronger witch, or cursed techniques could be useless altogether. It's hard to say right now. I do think you'd make more progress than me or Itadori, but whether or not limitless will work in this space I'm unsure of."

"Maybe we can see if your niece would be up for some tagalongs next time she goes on one of these witch hunts." Gojo suggested, watching him go at the bag of sweets he'd probably finish it before they left.

"I could ask her. I would like to understand these things more. I suspect now that we know about them it could be easier to fight them, or at least recognize them," Nanami agreed, "At the same time, we've gone this long without being aware of their existence so it might be that they have another way of hiding themselves."

"So what's the plan then?" Yuji asked, trying to sneak some candy off of Gojo to which the blindfolded man just tossed him some. "Even if we can't help them fight or something, I do want to see them again. It was fun to hang out with them! I think Fushiguro and Kugisaki would like them too and like we have to tell them about this right?"

"Yuji's right, wouldn't hurt for at least the next generation to have connections even if us boring adults have to keep it secret." Gojo smiled, "And like you said, knowing more about this all would be great, and we still don't know why curses were so absent in the city so that's a whole other mystery, or the barrier. I'm sure in between missions and school we could come up with excuses to take a few field trips."

"Yeah come on Nanamin." Yuji gave him a pathetic look that was certainly over the top even for the teen, it was almost amusing when Yuji did it but when Gojo joined him.

"Please Nanamin~"
Nanami sighed and leaned back a bit on the bench, "I have Yachiyo's number and she mentioned she'd pass mine to the other girls in case they needed an ear, I'll bring it up to them." he relented, as much as he hated to admit it, they were right. It would likely be more beneficial than not for both groups of teens to be familiar with the other. Curses had been growing in strength in recent years especially after the Night of a 100 Demons a year ago. As humanities troubles grew it only made sense that their negativity did too. So if witches also were attracted to negativity (or formed from it, he wasn't sure), then surely their number would go up as well. Maybe the reason there had never been contact was because there wasn't enough of either enemy for the two to clash.

But that could well change in the next few years, whether or not the Jujutsu Elders wanted to admit that things would eventually grow beyond their ability to contain. It was surely only a matter of time before knowledge of curses went public.

"Excellent! And who knows, maybe some of these girls will want to become students. I certainly wouldn't say no to that kind of power." Gojo smiled, already done with the bag of candy as Nanami had predicted, "But for now, we'd better head back to Tokyo huh? As much as I'd like to stay and chase after witches, I also don't want anyone to get suspicious. Have you decided how much you're going to put in your report?"

Shit, he still had that to do, didn't he? "I'll figure it out."

I decided on once a week updates lol. Thank you for reading and thank you for the reviews!

Some brief rambling below you can skip if ya want xD

In the event you've picked up on the vibes, this is a Papamin Fic, or I guess more like a Unclemin fic. It's also kind of a positive vent fic In I want to get to some of the pains of growing up as a teenage girl when you feel there's no one else to talk to when all your problems feel like the end of the world. Nanami is strict and to the point, but he's also a man who really cares about other especially children. He already put the weight of protecting Yuji and those weaker than him on his shoulders, and while magical girls are by no means defenseless, they don't tend to have the mentorship a student sorcerer would have. Personally, I feel it's that isolation that causes magical girls to become witches more when they're younger. I mean, read the summary of this fic and the themes I was gunning for should be obvious xD Anyways, thanks for listening to my ramble. I'm debating making a tumblr so I can more directly message back and maybe post the doodles I do of this lol
