Chapter 8: Goodbye, my Singleness!
Molly´s Part
We cannot deny that a big change was about to come in the life of our beloved singing guppy. Before long, she would join in holy marriage with that boy who had been her best friend for years. And because of this, it was necessary to comply with a tradition to say goodbye to her on the last days of bachelorhood. In this case, the girls had planned a special trip to celebrate that great moment. Molly, Mia, Deema, Oona and Zooli had arrived at the cabins in the mountains to enjoy a few days as great friends.
"We are here!" Deema said excitedly.
"Wow! This is beautiful" Molly commented surprisedly.
"And you ain't seen the best yet, friend" Oona said with a smile.
"Let's check in and get comfortable" Zooli started to take the luggage.
"You're gonna love this, sis" Mia said excitedly.
It didn't take long for them to check in and settle into one room. The place was rustic but nice with decor that made the cabin appear to be made of good quality wood. The facilities were very well maintained and pleasant. The girls wasted no time and decided to put on their bathing suits to enjoy the pool that was hot springs. Molly changed into a light blue two-piece swimsuit, Deema changed into an orange two-piece swimsuit with yellow dots. Oona wore a light purple one-piece while Zooli wore a similar but dark blue one. And Mia a turquoise two-piece swimsuit. The girls showed Molly something precious. The hot springs had a beautiful aerial view of the entire town of BubbleTucky and surroundings.
"Wow! All BubbleTucky can be seen from here…It's wonderful" Molly said happily.
"I can even see Big BubbleCity from here" Deema added.
"I knew you would like this" Zooli commented.
"What are you waiting for girls? Time to have fun!" Oona said while she showed them a beach ball. The girls began to play with the ball. Sometimes they played as a team made up of pairs and members were exchanged. Then sometimes they came out of the water to get some sun, although the place was windy and a little cold. Luckily the water was warm and comfortable. The food was pretty good, so they enjoyed lunch. We will look at a quiet moment just before sunset. The girls were relaxing in the hot springs.
"(sigh) This is so relaxing" Molly said with a satisfied smile.
"I really needed this. Days at the office can be stressful" Deema commented.
"I can agree with you" Oona supported her idea.
"High school can be boring and exhausting. How lucky I was able to come here" Mia added.
"Yeah! That reminds me that this is the first time we've been out with you, right?" Zooli asked Molly´s younger sister.
"Hehe yeah….It's always been because of the age difference... But now that I'm older... I can go out with my sister's big friends" Mia winked funnily "Also, I wouldn't miss my older sister's bachelorette party"
"Yes, I really needed to clear my mind with a trip like this...After spending exhausting days with that madman" Molly commented. The other girls were silent. It was strange but Deema, Oona and Zooli hadn't talked much about the events Molly had suffered in much detail.
"Uhhh…M-Molly….How did you manage to survive all that time alone? I mean, I bet if either of us had been in your shoes we would have died" Oona asked curiously.
"Yeah! Very few people survive that kind of experience..." Zooli added.
"Hey, I don't think it's appropriate…." Mia intervened.
"It´s okay, Mia….I can handle it…Well….I must admit that I had help. I met another person who managed to survive against Blake. Her name was Delilah and...she was a good friend...A little stubborn and headstrong but brave...She reminded me of Zooli before she was our friend" Molly decided to share her experience.
"Did she look like me? I guess she was rude, a bit bitter and hateful...Isn't she?" Zooli deduced it because she remembered that she was the same before her encounter with the guppies.
"Yup. But deep down she had a good heart" Molly answered.
"...Wait a moment….She had?" Oona asked confusedly "Don't you mean that she has?" That question caused Molly to have a few seconds of silence.
"(sigh) Well...she...had to sacrifice herself so that I...I could survive..." The leader guppy remembered her friend´s sacrifice.
"I´m..I´m so sorry…Molly….I didn´t…" Oona was apologizing.
"No problem. I already had time to mourn for her... I also fought against Blake, you know? And I appreciate the training that Oona gave me" Molly commented.
"That must have been hard" Zooli analyzed.
"Yeah...in fact he almost killed me...if it wasn't for Gilly" She said with a tiny smile remembering her savior "I can't believe what Gilly is capable of doing for me"
"Are you kidding? Gil is capable of doing everything for you! Wasn't he the one who found you in your previous kidnapping?" Deema reminded.
"He was the one who got shot to save your life" Oona added.
"It was he who challenged our father to be accepted and receive his blessing" Mia remembered his challenge against their father.
"And even if Gil fails, he is always capable of doing everything possible to obtain your forgiveness and also change for the better. He always knows how to amend his mistakes for you" Zooli said with a smile.
"You all are right. And that is why do not hesitate for a second to accept the marriage proposal" Molly blushed a bit.
"That's how it is! And hey, Molly...Aren't you afraid of commitment?" Deema asked curiously.
"It is a very important decision and it will change your life drastically" Zooli added.
"...That´s right….And after all that we have lived together, I have no doubt that he is the man of my life. I just want to try to be the ideal wife for him. I want us both to live in the best way" Molly shared her feelings.
"And you will certainly be, Molly" Oona added with a happy smile.
"Talking a lot about romance and weddings... How cheesy" Mia mocked a bit.
"Hmmm How curious that you say that...considering that you are not like that when my younger brother is with you" Deema gave her a mischievous smile.
"Wh-What?! N-No?! That is not true! That's gross! He has been with me since elementary school! He is like a brother!" Mia moved her hand fastly with her red face.
"Wait... Mia is in love with Deema's younger brother?" Zooli was surprised.
"But which of the two?" Oona giggled.
"No-No-No-No?!" Mia continued with her denial.
"Believe me, little sister...At some point I thought that about Gilly too and look how I ended up...Now I will marry my "best friend", hehehe" Molly mocked her little sister.
"I'm not in love with Dylan?!" Mia crossed her arms and puffed out her cheeks pretending to be upset.
"But Mia...I never said names" Deema smiled victoriously as she managed to make Mia go under by herself. They all got to giggle, even Mia herself, who must admit that it was kind of funny.
The day was getting dark, so the girls decided to get out of the hot springs and each took a bath so they could put on a new outfit for the night. They planned a karaoke night to enjoy the night. In addition to bringing snacks, they even brought some wine. Molly and Oona wore dresses while Zooli wore ripped pants and Deema and Mia wore shorts. Each of them wanted to sing with a microphone. It was a great opportunity because they could make all the noise they wanted because nobody lived near the establishment.
"...'Cause baby, you're a on, show 'em what you're worth. Make 'em go, "Oh, oh, oh. As you shoot across the sky…." Deema sang the great Katy Perry song. Obviously we recognize the reference
"...You're here, there's nothing I fear. And I know that my heart will go on. We'll stay forever this way. You are safe in my heart and. My heart will go on and on…" Molly passionately sang the song "My Heart Will Go On" by singer Celine Dion. This song made Deema and Oona cry in a dramatic and emotional way.
"...I need a hero. I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night. He's gotta be strong, and he's gotta be fast. And he's gotta be fresh from the fight. I need a hero. I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light. He's gotta be sure, and it's gotta be soon. And he's gotta be larger than life. Larger than life…." Oona sang the famous song "Holding Out for a Hero" by the great Bonnie Tyler. Mia and Molly helped her with the chorus.
"...Go on now, go, walk out the door. Just turn around now. 'Cause you're not welcome anymore- Weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye?. You think I'd crumble?. You think I'd lay down and die?. Oh no, not I, I will survive. Oh, as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive. I've got all my life to live. And I've got all my love to give and I'll survive. I will survive, hey, hey!..." Zooli sang the song "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor. I should mention that it was hard to convince her to sing, but Molly, Mia, Deema and Oona were so insistent and managed to get her to sing.
"...I can buy myself flowers. Write my name in the sand. Talk to myself for hours. Say things you don't understand. I can take myself dancing. And I can hold my own hand. Yeah, I can love me better than you can…." Mia sang "Flowers" by Miley Cyrus. Molly helped her out a bit so she could confidently sing among friends.
And in this way, they even made shared songs. For example, sometimes they sang in pairs like Molly and Mia, Oona and Zooli and Deema would pair up with one of them and then switch. It was a night of much singing and dancing. Finally, we will focus on a moment where they were all sitting down resting and talking to each other. At that moment, Deema serves glasses of wine, one to each of them.
"Attention, Girls! I want to dedicate a few words to our dear friend Molly. I want to tell you that I'm really happy for you. You have made a big decision in your life. And it fills me with pride to be your best friend and to be able to accompany you and help you in all this change that you are going through. I want you to know that no matter what happens, you can count on me and us in everything. And with this... a toast... To Molly Gordon!" Deema raised her cup.
"To Molly Gordon!" Oona, Zooli and Mia joined her.
"Hmmm…Molly Gordon? Sounds funny...but I like it" Molly said with a smile and a blush on her cheeks.
"Cheers!" They all said that before drinking from their cups in honor of the leader of the guppies.
"Deema...that was beautiful...In fact...everything all of you did for me was beautiful...Thank you so much...You are the best friends in the world" Molly said with happy tears.
"It's nothing, Molls! That's what friends are for!" Deema answered.
"Friends for life!" Oona hugged her.
"Sisters and Friends for life!" Mia winked and hugged her older sister.
"I never had sisters...and having you is like having sisters...you are the best" Zooli hugged her too.
That night was special for Molly. Her best friends in her world prepared the most special day for her to say goodbye to her days as a single woman. This event marked the end of a long phase and she was preparing to introduce her to one of the happiest stages of her life. At least, that is her desire. The rest of the night, the girls changed into their pajamas for a short sleepover before they all fell asleep in their beds from exhaustion from everything they've done that day. Without a doubt, it was a great relief after such tense days. However, in the middle of the night, something terrifying happened. Oona woke up in the middle of the night. She needed to go to the bathroom. So she got up and left the cabin quietly to avoid waking the other girls. A few minutes later, she was about to return before she heard mysterious footsteps.
"Huh?! W-Who's there?!" Oona asked surprisedly. She thought it could be one of the girls or maybe even the owner of the cabins. But she was filled with fear seeing a mysterious figure near her. It appeared to be a tall guppy but you couldn't identify who she was. For the darkness did not let her see her face. She turned on her flashlight fearfully and saw something horrible.
"GRRRRR….GRRRR….OO…OO…OONAAAAAA!" It was a mysterious guppy covered in mud, leaves, branches, hair. Its voice was unrecognizable and it began to approach her slowly. It looked like it was limping a bit.
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" Oona screamed so loud that she managed to wake up the other girls. They all got up and left the cabin quickly to look for her.
"What happened Oona?" Molly asked quickly.
"A…A….A MONSTER!" Oona pointed to the mysterious figure.
"Please, Oona...monsters don't exist…" Deema said quietly until she saw the figure "BUT WHAT IS THAT?!" She shouted surprisedly.
"GRRRRRR…GIRLS….GIRLS…."
"AAAAAAHHHHHH! "All the five girls shouted loudly.
"Girls, watch out! That can be someone dangerous" Molly said nervously.
"A monster? Thief? Kidnapper?" Deema was panicking.
"GGGGGGRRRRR GIRLS…."
"Don't be afraid, girls. We are more than that. He is only one and we are five. Give him a lesson he'll never forget!" Zooli cracked her knuckles to prepare to fight.
"I'm with Zooli on this!" Mia joined her.
"GGGGRRR….HUH?...G-GIRLS…."
"CATCH HIM!" Deema shouted loudly.
"GRRRRRR N-NO W-WAIT…." The monster screamed before the 5 guppy girls gave it the beating of its life. What none of them knew was the surprise that was coming.
Gil´s Part
It's time to focus on what the boys were doing. Gil, Goby, Nonny, Urchin, and Bubble Doggy took a camping trip to the woods as an activity for Gil's bachelor party. An all-boys activity in the middle of nature was just what Gil craved after being under a lot of stress in the last few days. Finally, the boys reached a forest up the mountains and put down their luggage and began to pitch the tents. Goby helped Urchin out of the car and brought Urchin's trusty wheelchair.
"(sigh) Oh yeah, man! Fresh air from nature! Just what I needed" Gil said while he was taking a lot of breath.
"We knew you'd like it, man" Goby commented.
"We chose this place because it has something special" Nonny added with his typical tone of voice.
"Ohh really? Show me!" Gil asked excitedly. Goby, Nonny and Urchin decided to take their friend to a special area. It was a huge lake of freshwater. And it had a great aerial view "Wow! It's amazing!"
"Arf Arf Arf" Bubble Doggy barked excitedly.
"Gil, this is a river source" Urchin said.
"A river source?" The blue-haired boy asked confusedly.
"This is where this river is born, in the mountains. And all this water reaches lakes and the sea. This is where the river begins" Nonny answered the question.
"That explains why we spent a lot of time going up the mountain by car" Gil analyzed.
"What are you waiting for guys? It's hot and you have to cool off!" Goby said that before taking off his shirt. The boys did the same and it didn't take long to get into something. Bubble Doggy beat them though, because he went in for the swim before everyone else.
The boys entered the lake with only shorts on. Gil wore light blue shorts with white. Goby wore dark blue shorts with black. Nonny was wearing green shorts with orange tiger stripes. Urchin wore red shorts with white details. He only swam a little near the shore, but that was not an impediment for not having fun. The boys spent a lot of time cooling off in the lake. Then they held a barbecue, where they prepared a great lunch with meats, salads and snacks. Then they decided to do some hiking to explore the nearby forest and mountains. They managed to enjoy a beautiful view at sunset. Before the sun went down, they decided to return to the tents to immediately prepare the fire. Where they were going to spend the rest of the night. They prepared a large flame to heat up and, in turn, cook delicious marshmallows. At campfire time, it was the ideal time to share stories and have a fun time.
"(Sigh) This is life….Spend a good quiet time with my best friends... What more can I ask for?" Gil commented with a calm smile.
"Yup….We all need days like this" Goby said as he played his acoustic guitar making a peaceful melody.
"What are you going to play, Goby?" Urchin asked curiously.
"I dunno. I'm just playing to brighten the mood" Goby confessed.
"Anyway, let's not forget why we're all here. We are here to celebrate Gil's engagement together" Nonny commented.
"Oh yeah! I always had a feeling that you two would be the first couple to get married" Urchin said with a smile.
"Well, I've known Molly for almost my entire life. And I am certain that she is the person with whom I want to spend the rest of my life. I really love her and I have struggled a lot and faced a lot to make this future come. I hope it was all worth it" Gil shared his thoughts.
"And tell us, are you not afraid of getting married?" Goby asked curiously.
"M-Me? Afraid? Nah….Why do you guys think that?" Gil asked, a bit nervous.
"It is because that feeling is very common in men. I mean, we always want to give our partners the best" Nonny answered.
"And not only that. The lifestyle change from single to married is radical. New kinds of responsibilities arrive that both must attend to. That is why it is so important to choose the special person. And you, my friend... I can assure you that Molly is that special person for you" Urchin explained a bit.
"Yeah, man! You were always happy with her, and she was always happy with you. I have no doubt that it is a good decision for both of you. And a big step in your relationship" Goby added.
"To sum it all up...Gil...Congratulations...and we are very happy with the decision you made. You and Molly can count on us for everything" Nonny said before he showed a genuine smile.
"Hehe Thanks, guys. You are the best" Gil smiled at them. It is true that he still has certain insecurities about it, but those words made him feel better.
"Arf Arf Arf!"
"You are the best too, buddy!" He stroked his dog's head.
"(yawn) It's a bit late. We should go to sleep now" Goby said, a bit tired.
"True, today was a bit tiring day" Urchin agreed.
"Very well...Just wait for me a moment...I need to go...And you know what I mean" Gil withdrew from there to do what his body needed.
"Hey, man. You ate the vast majority of the marshmallows" Goby noticed that the bag was empty.
"Sorry! I could not resist" Gil said amusedly before walking away from the camp. When he got to a more private place, something unexpected happened. He tripped over a tree root and fell down a muddy cliff "AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"
"G-GIL!?" The three boys identified the scream.
"Arf Arf Arf!" Bubble Doggy barked because he knew his owner was in danger.
"Bubble Doggy, track down Gil" Goby ordered.
Arf Arf!" The dog started looking for him quickly while the boys followed him. Goby, Nonny, and Urchin followed the dog. Gil, on the other hand, managed to get up sore. He noticed that his body was filled with mud and many branches and leaves were stuck to it. They must have hit each other as he fell. The bad thing is that some of those things got stuck in Gil's mouth thanks to the marshmallows he had eaten.
"GRRR AGHURGH…."He wanted to find a safe place, but thanks to the mud on the ground, he slipped again and fell down the mountain. Luckily, he fell but going down the edge of the mountain, as if he were rolling down. Then he fell in an unknown place. He only knew that he felt sore and felt very dirty from the amount of mud, leaves and branches that he had on his body. He tried to get up to see if he found something or someone. He noticed that he was in a rather nice, but dark place. A few meters from him, he found a nearby figure. So he just walked up to that person. When he got closer, he discovered that this person was a friend of his. A purple haired Asian guppy girl with pigtails. He tried to call her, but he felt pain and his mouth was so dirty that his voice was not very recognizable. "GRRRRR….GRRRR….OO…OO…OONAAAAAA!"
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!"
"What happened Oona?"
"A…A….A MONSTER!"
"Please, Oona...monsters don't exist…BUT WHAT IS THAT?!"
"GRRRRRR…GIRLS….GIRLS…." He managed to recognise the rest of the girls and he tried to call them….But.
"AAAAAAHHHHHH!"
"Girls, watch out! That can be someone dangerous"
"A monster? Thief? Kidnapper?"
"GGGGGGRRRRR GIRLS…." He wanted to explain everything-
"Don't be afraid, girls. We are more than that. He is only one and we are five. Give him a lesson he'll never forget!"
"I'm with Zooli on this!"
"GGGGRRR….HUH?...G-GIRLS…." He was nervous and he started to back off.
"CATCH HIM!"
"GRRRRRR N-NO W-WAIT…." Gil screamed before the 5 guppy girls gave him the beating of its life. A few seconds later, more people arrived behind him.
"Arf Arf Arf!"
"Girls, wait! Wait!" Goby, Nonny and Urchin arrived on time.
"HUH?!" The five girls stopped and noticed the boys' presence.
"Boys, thanks for coming...This guy wanted to hurt us!" Deema called them.
"Girls, it's not what it seems!" Goby said loudly.
"What do you mean?" Oona asked.
"(sigh) He´s Gil…" Nonny said quietly.
"Wait…WHAT?! HOW?!" Deema asked very confusedly.
"One moment…." Molly decided to take a towel and decided to wipe the dirty face of the supposed monster... only to reveal that the boys were telling the truth "Oh my…G-Gilly!"
"Ughh…Hmmm…H-Hi…Dear…" He said weakly.
"What the heck is going on here?!" Deema asked dramatically.
"And how are you here?" Mia asked again.
"It is a long story…" Urchin commented.
"Very good...But first...Gilly needs a hot bath...And a little help" Molly helped him to get up.
While Molly helped him, the others talked a bit among themselves to explain everything that had happened. How the boys went camping and what had happened to Gil that he ended up covered in mud and looking like someone unrecognizable. Because it was quite late, the girls offered to let the boys spend the night in another cabin, which they accepted. Goby and Nonny agreed to go back to where they had the tents and pick up everything to put in the car and go back to the cabins for the night. In this way, Deema, Mia, Oona and Zooli slept in one cabin while Goby, Nonny, Urchin and Bubble Doggy in the other cabin. Instead, in another cabin, Molly was waiting for Gil to get himself completely clean and wash out his mouth. In addition, Molly attended to some injuries caused by the falls he suffered and the blows that the girls gave him by accident. The boy ended up with his forehead bandaged and only had pajama pants that only covered him from the waist down.
"Sorry...It was the only thing I found in your size...and that would look more suitable for you" Molly apologized to him "...and sorry for what happened before…."
"It's okay, Molly….You should know more than anyone that I've been through worse...and you should remember the kind of luck I have" Gil said with a tiny smile. Molly couldn't resist giving a little giggle.
"Why are you funny at inopportune moments?" Molly said with a smile.
"I think it's part of my essence, love" He winked at her.
"So...you were camping near here?" She asked curiously.
"Yes, but I admit that I had no idea that you were here. In fact, I didn't even plan my bachelor party" Gil admitted.
"How curious. I was at my bachelorette party here...and the girls planned it...weird coincidences, don't you think?" Molly commented.
"I bet it's a sign of fate that wants us to be together...for the rest of our lives" He said with a smile. Molly just sat on the edge of the bed and stroked his cheek.
"I see….And what do you think of all this?" Molly asked.
"If you mean about the beating... well... I admit that Zooli hits hard…" Gil answered.
"No, silly Gilly…I mean…What do you think about us? What do you think about the decision we made? You know we're getting married...in a few weeks" Molly asked with a tender tone of voice.
"Well…What do you want me to tell you...It's the best decision I've ever made...You are the person who completes me. And I want a long life by your side" Gil commented.
"I think the same, Gilly. We've been through a lot to get to this...Really...I love you, Gil Gordon" She said.
"I love you too, Molly Gentilella" He said. She simply gave him a kiss on the forehead before trying to get up. But she noticed that Gil took her hand and pulled it closer to hers. She couldn't believe that she was on top of her lover, who could contemplate her naked torso with some musculature.
"G-G-Gilly…The girls are waiting for me…" She was getting nervous.
"I bet they fell asleep as well as the boys...Molly...I need your presence...It's very cold..." Gil hugged her, wrapping his hands around her waist "I never thought to say this but...I must admit that seeing you in your pajamas...makes you look very attractive" The girl could only caress his cheek and smile.
"You are lucky, Mr. Gordon...Because when we get married you will continue to see me like this every night" Molly said that with a flirtatious tone. Both of them could only see eye to eye at that moment.
"Molly…."
"Gilly…."
They both couldn't take it anymore and began to kiss each other on the lips with a lot of love and care. They both caressed their bodies. Although the moment was perfect and there was plenty of desire, neither of them took the initiative to go further. It could be nerves or respect for each other. The only thing that matters to us is that they both spent a warm night together. That only makes us understand one thing: they both truly loved each other and that is why they would carry out their public civil and sentimental union in a matter of a few weeks. The long-awaited wedding of both was just around the corner.
What a chapter we had, huh? There was a bit of everything: Comedy, emotional moments, drama and romance. It was a fun chapter to do. I had quite a few improvisations with certain scenes but I feel satisfied with this prelude to what is to come. Oh, by the way, for clarification. Molly and Gil did NOT do "that"...or at least...not yet. They just made out. Therefore, both are still um..."pure"...I won't continue explaining this because I'm blushing behind the screen XD
Leave your reviews and I will gladly be reading and paying attention. To advance a bit, I will respond to the review of the previous chapter.
PrimroseRaspberry: Hi there, friend! I am very glad to hear that you liked it. It's good to hear wisdom from other characters, and giving Miriam a bit of a spotlight was ideal. In this chapter we could see the bachelor/bachelorette parties and how they ended hehehe. I can really assure you that you are going to like what is to come for this dear couple. Regarding the rest, Trialfang could really be a problem for Gil. Will he have something hidden in his hands? What does Jane plan to do? Is something else going to come up? I don't know, wait for what will come
Here I say goodbye and see you in a great and beautiful chapter. Before I go, I'm going to leave you a little message that someone asked me to give to you. See you!
