As Moana, Ruby, and Chelsea were out on their quest we Maui things weren't going too well back at their respective homes.

On Motunui, Tui was struggling and do everything he could to keep order and try and keep his people calm and safe with everything that was plaguing the island. Tui was trying to keep up a strong face and appearance, but the recent death of his mother Tula and his daughter Moana taking one of the old voyager boats to go on some quest and really taken a emotional toll on the village chief.

Things weren't looking good for Motunui with the food shortages and dying plants. Many of the villagers were considering taking the voyager boats to go to sea and search for a new island to call home. It was fairly logical thing to do, but Tui wasn't going to agree with it just yet for two reasons. Tui still had a great fear of the ocean and what could possibly happen to both him and his people if they dared venture out. He didn't believe in sea monsters or demons, but he knew storms and rough sea were real and dangerous along with sharks. The second reason was Tui feared that if he and the villagers ventured away from Motunui, then he would never see Moana again. Moana had been gone for a few days and the world was a vast place and the chances of Tui and the villagers finding or running into Moana were slim to none. Tui believed that Moana would eventually find her way back to Motunui and then he would face his fears and venture out into the sea with both his family and the rest of the village.

When Tui wasn't trying to manage and deal with the trouble plaguing Motunui, he would go to stone stack of the chiefs. It had been a tradition of the village where the village chief would stack a stone on the pile to symbolize raising the island higher. Tui's father and ancestors had each placed a rock on the pile and Tui had felt a great sense of pride and joy when he had showed Moana the stone stack and told her about the tradition and importance of it. That one day Moana would place her own stone on the pile. Now it looked like that tradition would end along with Motunui. Tui looked sadly at the stones and prayed to his ancestors and past Chiefs for a sign or any form of wisdom on what to do about the current crisis. But nothing happened. Either the spirits didn't know what to do or they simply couldn't help or interfere. Tui gloomy returned to his home.

Sina greeted Tui as he returned and went to comfort her husband.

"How are you doing?" Asked Sina.

"Not...too good. There's less food now on the island and the villagers are starting to panic and consider leaving the island." Said Tui.

"Good thing we still have the old voyager boats then." Said Sina.

"But where would we go exactly? We don't know what is out there and we have no idea where Moana could of ended up on that foolish quest of hers." Said Tui.

"Have you consider that Moana's quest isn't foolish and that the legends are real?" Asked Sina.

"What makes you think that?" Asked Tui looking a bit annoyed.

"The things plaguing our...island aren't natural. This feels like a force of malice and darkness that is poisoning everything, like the old legends said after the heart was stolen by Maui." Said Sina.

"The heart of Te Fiti is just a story like Maui, mermaids, and krakens. They were made up to entertain people nothing more." Said Tui.

"Then how do you explain what us plaguing the island?" Asked Sina.

"I...don't know." Said Tui looking a little defeated.

"And that scares you. I'm scared too. We need to open our minds to the possibility that the legends are real and that Moana is on a quest to fix all this and then she will return to us." Said Sina.

"But...what if she doesn't come back?" Asked Tui.

"I pray and hope she does return. Until then we either have to endure or consider going out to find a new island. You could look through your others old things, she might have a map or something that could help us." Said Sina.

"I...guess it's worth a shot. We won't leave the island until there are no more options or any signs of things improving." Said Tui.

The two then embraced before Tui went to go look through his mother's belongings for any maps that could help the village if they were forced to leave the island.

At the mermaid kingdom, Nerissa was in her throne room having her own worries regarding her daughter. True Chelsea had left a note saying she was out exploring the ocean and that she would be back in a few days, but Nerissa still worried for her child. Chelsea had proven to be good with her trident and mermaid magic, but she had no real combat experience. What if she ran into some krakens, true Chelsea could probably handle the regular human size krakens who weren't nearly as powerful and gifted as the giant krakens, but they could still sound the alarm and alert the the Kraken Queen, who would do everything in her power to hunt down Nerissa's daughter.

As Nerissa worried, her advisor Lola swam in onto the scene. Lola was a attractive looking mermaid with tanned skin, green eyes, and long red curly hair. She wore a red top and her mermaid tail was red with attributes that resembled a lion fish tail.

"My queen. I bring some good news. I've had some breakthroughs with my research and I'm getting really close to finding the Instrument of Destruction to use against the krakens. I might need access to more of our resources and I might need to ask for some outside help to get it." Said Lola.

"Very nice. Our kingdom's resources are at your full disposal and you may seek outside help as well to aid you." Said Nerissa.

"Thank you my queen." Said Lola as she prepared to leave.

"One more thing." Said Nerissa.

"What's that?" Asked Lola.

"My daughter Princess Chelsea has gone out exploring the ocean. Keep an eye out for her and if you find her escort her back to the kingdom." Said Nerissa.

"Consider it done." Said Lola with bow a bow before leaving.

"I will not lose anyone else I care for to those vile creatures." Said Nerissa to herself.

Miles away on another island Agatha was a bit worried about her own daughter Ruby and decided she was going to pay her mom and the kraken kingdom a visit. Agatha said a quick goodbye to her husband and son before she headed into the water and transformed into her own giant kraken form. Agatha in her giant kraken form had pink glowing skin with, 6 tentacles 2 arms and 4 legs, with 4 fingers on each, small spiky shoulder pads, and longer hair.

It had been many years since Agatha had changed into her giant kraken form. A small thrill of excitement went through Agatha as she assumed the form before she went straight to business. Agatha swam to the kraken kingdom and headed to the palace. All the human sized krakens saw Agatha gasped as they recognized her and bowed and greeted her. Agatha gave polite greetings in return as she entered the palace and headed to the throne room. The palace brought of good and bad memories to Agatha as she swam through it. She remembered the days of her youth when there were more then just three giant krakens left in the world. Agatha thought back to swimming through the halls greeting other giant krakens and the friendship and bonds she had with those same krakens before the failure of the peace talk. She then recalled the argument she had had with her mother after the failed peace talk that had resulted in the slaughter of most of the giant krakens.

Agatha's hands tightened into fists and she took a deep breath to calm herself before entering the throne room. The Kraken Queen sat in her throne and a brief look of surprise appeared on her eyes at the sight of her daughter. She quickly composed herself as she got up from her throne.

"Agatha! So good to see you! What brings you down here? Are you here to take back your position as warrior princess and help deal with the mermaids?" Said the Kraken Queen.

"I'm not here to take back to take back my position and aid you in the mindless conflict with the mermaids. I'm here to ask you about Ruby." Said Agatha.

"Ruby. Oh right, Brill told me she left you a node and said something about exploring the ocean and wouldn't be back for awhile." Said the Kraken Queen.

"Well I'm worried about her. Ruby is a giant kraken and if any mermaid saw her out in the ocean, they would tell Nerissa and we both know what the Mermaid Queen would do to Ruby." Said Agatha.

"Mermaids are ruthless creatures especially Nerissa. She practically wiped out the giant krakens except for the two of us." Said the Kraken Queen.

"And that was mainly your fault due to what you to Nerissa's mother." Said Agatha.

"I was trying to protect our people by taking the mermaid's most dangerous weapon!" Said the Kraken Queen getting defensive.

"And that worked out so well didn't it. Now the mermaids hate us more then ever and the giant kraken race is nearly extinct!" Said Agatha.

"You...abandoned your duties and people!" Said the Kraken Queen.

"After you messed up the peace talk and your actions nearly got us killed!" Said Agatha.

The two kraken royals glared at each other for several seconds and then Agatha calmed down and spoke.

"Look I'm not here to fight or bring up the past. I'm here to simply ask you to use your power and connections to keep an eye out for Ruby and get her to come home. I'd search the ocean myself, but Nerissa probably has it out for me. I just want Ruby back home safe and sound." Said Agatha.

"Very well. I'll have our people and our allies keep an eye out for Ruby and have her return home. I care for her safety and well being as well. That's something we can both agree on." Said the Kraken Queen.

"Thank you mother. I appreciate it." Said Agatha as she turned to leave.

"Agatha wait!" Said the Kraken Queen.

Agatha stopped to face her mother.

"I...know we didn't part on good terms all those years ago. And perhaps your anger at me is justified. I never wanted to put you or anyone else in harms way like that. I'm trying to do right by our people and I feel like I can't do that alone. What I'm saying is that I need someone like you back at my side to help our people." Said the Kraken Queen.

"To win the war?" Asked Agatha.

"To stop the war. You we're right. Fighting the mermaids...isn't the best way to end the war. The war has taken a toll on all of us and I wish to end it before anything else us lost." Said the Kraken Queen.

"You haven't exactly made a peaceful solution easy for us." Said Agatha.

"I know, but if anyone could figure out a way to peacefully end the war it is you." Said the Kraken Queen.

"Alright. I'll think it over, but it's going to take time." Said Agatha.

"Thank you. And I promise to have eyes out for Ruby." Said the Kraken Queen.

"Thank you." Said Agatha before swimming away.

The Kraken Queen summoned her servants and had them spread the word to the rest of the krakens and their allies to keep an eye out for Princess Ruby.

To be continued.
