Chapter 15 Pirates and Villains

Gutt stood on one of the wooden docks on Tortuga glaring out at the tiny boat that carried Maui and his three female companions. The blasted demigod had cost Gutt a fair amount of pearls and when Gutt had confronted Maui and gave him an opportunity to make up for his loss by selling the three women to him as slaves, Maui had refused and had punched Gutt in the face before fleeing. Now Gutt's pride was injured and he was very angry. Gutt had witnessed Maui escape and quickly realized one of his travel companions was a mermaid! It was very unusual since another one of Maui's companions appeared to be a kraken. Gutt knew the history between the mermaids and krakens and last he checked the two races hated each other and were at war. This made Gutt a bit curious as he began to gather up the rest of his crew followed by a crew of Kakamora.
Gutt's crew was mainly made of Kakamora, but there were a few animal monsters among them that made the core group. There was a short rabbit monster named Squint who was fierce and violent who wore a sash made of seaweed around his waist, Flynn a big strong elephant seal monster wearing a bandana made of kelp, Raz a fierce female kangaroo monster, Dobson a brutish boar monster who walked on all fours, Gupta a bullying badger monster who had parts of his fur dyed to resemble a skull and crossbones, who often acted and served as a flag and lookout, and Silas a petrel/blue-footed booby hybrid monster that served as a scout for the crew.
Gutt immediately set Silas out to follow the boat Maui was on as he and the rest of the crew got their ship ready. Gutt's boat was a large monstrous thing made out of a bunch of trees and logs twisted and tied together with ropes. It looked like one big boat, but in actuality it was three boats tied together that could separate whenever the crew wanted. One big boat and two smaller boats. It was equipped with a dozen sails and had many ore ports on the sides. The crew loaded up and dozens of Kakamora manned the ores as the wind blew into the sails. It would take a bit of time, but Gutt and his crew would catch up to Maui's boat.
Word of Maui's visit and his traveling companions spread through Tortuga and eventually made it's way to sharp and tall castle-like structure that served as Tentacular's lair. Tentacular was a tall muscular humanoid with light blue. He had the features of the humanoid krakens mixed with shark features. Tentacular had sharp teeth, a pointy nose, a short fin on his head, and only wore a dark blue lavalava.
One of Tentacular's servants informed him about Maui visiting the island turtle and about the travel companions he had been seen with. Tentacular became a bit interested and told his servants to bring Gutt to him once he returned to Tortuga. With that out of the way Tentacular headed to a private room that had a large cauldron made out of a tree stump and began to pour a few different colored bottles of liquid in it. The liquids bubbled and there was a flash of light. Three swirling portals appeared before Tentacular each displaying a fierce monster. There was the Umibozo a dark purple being, Iku Turso a horned monster with tentacles, and the dreaded Leviathan a giant black and purple sea serpent. Each of these monsters were terrible and they hated the kraken people for beating them in the past and keeping them from terror in the humans. Tentacular had made a deal with them that in exchange for their loyalty and services he would destroy the krakens.
"My fellow monsters, the destruction of the krakens draws closer. The location of the weapon we need has been revealed and I already set a team of expert monster thieves to go get it." Said Tentacular.
"Who did you send to get the weapon?" Asked Iku Turso.
"The Bad Guys." Said Tentacular with a smirk.
The Bad Guys were a team of expert monster thieves that had gained a good reputation among the monster community. If anyone who get a ancient hidden treasure it was them.
"Then the weapon is as good as ours and the krakens will soon no longer be a threat to us." Said Umibozo.
"But what about the mermaids? They could still be a threat to us." Hissed the Leviathan.
"I already got it handled. It was a high ranked mermaid who brought the weapon to our attention and asked me and my resources to come look for it. We made a deal about splitting the world. The mermaids get one half of the world and we get the other half. The mermaids hate the krakens as much as we do, so they'll honor the bargain once we uphold our part of the deal. They don't care for the humans after Maui stole the heart of Te Fiti." Said Tentacular with smirk.
"Very well we shall follow your lead and not bother the mermaids once the krakens are no more." Said Iku Turso.
"Soon half the world will be ours and a new age of monster will begin." Said Tentacular.
The other monsters cheered in agreement before the portals vanished. Dark forces were at work and Moana and her friends were going to get mixed up it.
