Moana and her band of friends sailed for a couple more days, until they reached a island with a tall imposing mountain formation on it. The boat was beached and the crew got out. Maui picked the boat up and took it further inland where he covered it with some bushes to help conceal it from sight.

"So this is Lalotai?" Asked Moana looking up at the mountains.

"Well to be more precise it's the entrance to Lalotai." Said Maui.

"The entrance?" Asked Chelsea.

"Yeah the entrance. It's at the very top of the highest mountain." Said Maui.

"Well let's get to it. The sooner we get going, the sooner we get Maui's hook, and the sooner we restore the heart and set everything right." Said Ruby.

The group left Pua and Heihei behind with the boat as they began to scale the mountains. Maui, Moana, and Chelsea carefully climbed up, while Ruby climbed the rocky surface with ease, due to having suction cups on both her hands and feet, which made it a lot easier for Ruby to climb since she could just stick to the surface. Eventually they made it to the top of the highest mountain and found themselves on a large flat top. In the center of the top was the illustration of a monstrous creature. After the heroes rested a bit and caught their breath, Moana spoke.

"So how exactly do we get into Lalotai?"

"Watch and be amazed." Said Maui as he rubbed his hands together and spread his legs apart.

Maui clapped his hands to his knees and began to do a little dance and chat before he slammed his palms down on the head of the monster illustration. There was a rumbling sound and the mouth of the monster opened up revealing the entrance to Lalotai. Moana, Ruby, and Chelsea gathered around the hole and looked down.

"So this is the entrance to Lalotai?" Asked Moana.

"Yep." Said Maui.

"And we just jump down that hole to get there?" Asked Chelsea.

"Pretty much." Said Maui.

"That seems pretty dangerous. Like how far are we going to fall? Is there a soft place for us to land? Are there monsters lurking around ready to gobble us up?" Said Ruby.

"The fall isn't...too long and it's...um survivable. Well probably survivable for me, Ruby, and Chelsea due to me being a demigod, Ruby being both a kraken and a giant kraken, and Chelsea being a mermaid. Not so sure about Moana, since she's human." Said Maui.

"I'm not really liking the sound of that." Said Moana looking a bit nervous.

"As for monster they really don't pay too much attention to the entrance or try to eat anything that comes through it." Said Maui.

"We really should have brought a rope and some torches." Said Chelsea.

"I could go first and then go giant and catch the rest of you as you drop down." Said Ruby.

"Not a good idea. Every monster will see you and they aren't exactly fans of giant krakens. Best for you to stay tiny, unless we really need you to go big." Said Maui.

"So what kinds of monsters should we expect to see in Lalotai?" Asked Chelsea.

"All kinds of monster of all shapes and sizes. We got large angry monsters, smart humanoid monsters, and packs of monsters. They'll either being hunting for food or fighting each other for territory." Said Maui.

"Alright. You know what. No more talking. The more I hear the less I want to know. We're going down there, getting the hook, and getting out as fast as we can." Said Moana trying to put on a brave face.

"Fine by me. I'll go first." Said Maui before he jumped and did a cannonball right down the hole and vanished.

"You know you don't have to come down there with us, Moana. Me and Chelsea can look after Maui and get the hook. You can just go back to the boat and will meet you there." Said Ruby.

"No one will think any less of you." Said Chelsea.

"I have to do this. If I can't face this place, how can I face something like Te Kā? I'm going even if this place does scare me." Said Moana with determination.

"Alright, we're in this together." Said Ruby.

"And to be honest me and Ruby are both a bit afraid of going into Lalotai." Said Chelsea.

"Really?" Asked Moana.

"Yeah we may have powers, but we're both a part of a race that other monsters hate. I doubt they'll be happy to see us." Said Chelsea.

"Yeah our ancestors used to defend the humans and fight other monsters making the sea safer." Said Ruby.

"I'm still falling!" Called Maui from the hole followed by a splash.

The three girls exchanged looks and then Moana took a deep breath and jumped down the hole followed by Chelsea and Ruby. The mouth of the monster illustration closed. Moana found herself fall through darkness then she struck a swirling vortex of purple and blue water that went downwards. She looked ahead and saw Maui, before glancing back to see Chelsea and Ruby not too far behind her. The swirling vortex seemed to go on forever, before it deposited them out onto a large chunk of land with a mix of palm trees, coral, and undersea plants on it.

Maui landed perfectly on his feet and posed in triumph. He was about to call up to the others, when Moana came out and landed right on top of Maui knocking him to the ground and Moana bounced off of him and let out a startled cry as she fell off the landmass and bounced down some colorful rocks before vanishing from sight. Before Maui could get back up, Chelsea struck him next and bounced off of the demigod going in a separate direction then Moana and vanished from sight. Ruby then fell and hit Maui bouncing off of him and went in another direction then Moana and Chelsea as she vanished from sight.

Maui groaned as he got up and quickly realized that he had been struck by his three traveling companions and they were separated from each other.

"Ok not exactly off at a good start Mini Maui. My three very young inexperienced traveling companions are separated and lost in Lalotai. This is literally the worst thing that could happen!" Said Maui.

Mini Maui patted Maui's shoulder and then gave him a thumbs up.

"Alright need to focus and think. Do I get my hook first then rescue the girls or do I rescue the girls first then get my hook?" Said Maui in thought.

Mini Maui created images of Moana, Chelsea, and Ruby and pointed at them.

"Right. Right. Probably be bad if any of them were eaten and killed on my watch. Got to do the right thing and save the girls." Said Maui.

Maui looked around and peered down at the areas the girls had fallen trying to decide which way to go and who might need to be rescued first. Ruby and Chelsea both had powers and natural abilities they could use and rely on to help get them out of tough spots, while Moana was just a human and she did have the heart in her possession.

"Alright rescue Moana first, then Ruby and Chelsea, and then get my hook back." Said Maui as he headed in the direction Moana had fallen.

Maui prayed that each of his traveling companions was ok and he hoped things didn't get any worse.

Outside Lalotai, Gutt's ship was arriving at the island. The crew of pirates along with their new flying reinforcements dropped some large rocks they used as anchors off near the shore. Gutt left Flynn, Gupta, and some Kakamoras behind to watch the ship and keep an eye on the shore as the rest of the crews used the flyers to help them reach the top of the mountain. The pirates reached the top much faster then Moana's group and Gutt banged his fists down on the monster illustration to open the entrance.

"Alright crew listen up. We're looking for Maui the demigod, who is traveling with a human girl, a mermaid, and a giant kraken. The human girl has the heart of Te Fiti on her and according to Tentacular's sources they are looking for the crab monster Tamatoa. Our mission is to get the heart and bring it back to Tentacular." Said Gutt addressing his crew and the flyers.

The group of monsters cheered at the thrill of the hunt and the chance to capture the heart for monster kind. One-by-one they jumped down the hole.

"I'm coming for you Maui." Said Gutt before he dropped down the hole as well.

The illustration of the monster mouth closed once more. The hunt was on.

To be continued.
