Chapter 24 Party Animals

The sun was beginning to set as Moana's boat and the Bad Guys boat came across a island, Wolf identified as Madagascar. The two groups beached their boats and made themselves some torches before heading into the jungle.

"So is this key just laying around in some temple or something?" Asked Moana.

"Well according to our research and sources the key we're looking for was given to some kind of guardian that lives on this island. We don't know what kind of creature this guardian is, but it's most likely a powerful and strong being." Said Wolf.

"You plan to fight it?" Asked Maui.

"Not right away. We want to see what kind of creature it is and what it's capable of. Once we know that will attempt to steal the key from the guardian. We usually prefer not to get into big fights, but if the guardian proves to be troublesome will do it." Said Wolf.

"Shouldn't be too hard, especially with Maui, by our side." Said Piranha.

"Yeah." Said Maui.

The nine travelers went deeper into the jungle, when they all heard the sound of crumbs being played and singing. The group continued on, until they saw some light in the distance and saw what appeared to be the shadows of dancing humans on some large palm leafs as the words 'I like to move it move' were repeated.

"A tribe of humans?" Asked Moana.

"Well this is unexpected." Said Snake.

"So what do we do?" Asked Webs as she and the other Bad Guys looked at Wolf.

"Shark change yourself into a human." Said Wolf.

Shark changed himself into a man with dark hair.

"Now I want you to go up there along with Maui, Moana, and Chelsea and see what we're dealing with up ahead." Said Wolf.

Moana, Maui, Chelsea, and the transformed Shark went ahead towards the group of people. Ruby went invisible and followed them as they rest of the Bad Guys crouched down and followed at a distance. Moana was both excited and curious to meet another tribe of humans. She reached the palm leafs and parted them to see the tribe and she and the others were met with a odd and unexpected sight in a large clearing.

The shadows they had seen weren't cast by humans, but a large tribe of small lemur monsters having a party. The lemurs were roughly the size of Webs and they came in multiple colors. Some were brown, some black, some grey, and a some were reddish. The Lemurs were dancing and singing and they seemed to be lead by a black, white, and grey ring-tailed lemur wearing a green and yellow crown made of plants.

The lemurs leader sang and danced working the other lemurs into a frenzy. The lemurs danced, while a few jumped or banged on drums that were normal size for a human, but were giant compared to the lemurs.

"Well this...is different." Said Moana.

"Looks like a real wild party!" Said Maui.

"So what exactly is the plan here?" Asked Chelsea.

Before any plan could be discussed a couple of lemurs saw the group peeking in on them and stopped dancing to look at them. Some lemurs who were drumming took notice of their companies who had stopped dancing to look at what they were looking at and took notice of the visitors. More lemurs took notice of the lack of dancing and drum playing and looked over to see the guest and eventually the party came to a stop as all the lemurs looked at Moana and her companions. Both groups awkwardly stared at each other for several seconds.

Moana feared that the lemurs would either scatter and run away in fear or they would reveal themselves to fierce fighters who weren't fans of visitors and begin attacking and chasing her and her friends. After a few more seconds went by the lemur leader with the crown approached Moana and her allies followed by shorter dark cured lemur. The two lemurs stopped a few feet from the visitors and the shorter lemur pulled out a green scroll and began to read from it.

"Lord of the Ringtails. Leader of Lemurs. The King of Cool. The Monarch with the Most. The Sovereign of Soul. Master of Dancing. King Julien!"

"That's a lot of titles." Said Shark.

"Respect." Said Maiu nodding his head in approval.

"Who are you?" Asked Moana pointing at the short lemur.

"I am Maurice. The Royal Advisor."

"Nice to meet you. I'm Moana and these are my companies Maui and Chelsea." Said Moana introducing herself.

"What about that other guy?" Asked Julien.

"Um...my name is Bruce." Said Shark quickly.

"Good name. He seems cool." Said Julien.

"So what brings you strangers to our island." Asked Maurice.

"Well we're on a quest and we're looking for someone called the guardian who might live here. Do you happen to know them." Said Moana.

"Guardian? Guardian? Oh RIGHT! Glo! Yeah we know her she's really fun at parties, but couldn't make this one." Said Julien.

"Can you tell us where to find her or introduce us to her?" Asked Chelsea.

"What exactly is your business with the guardian?" Asked Maurice eyeing Moana and the other suspiciously.

"Well...um that's a good question. Why don't you answer that Bruce." Said Moana looking at Shark.

"Um...well...its a long complicated story." Said Shark.

"Wait a second. I think I know you!" Said Julien pointing a finger at Maui.

"Know me?" Asked Maui.

"YES! I can't believe it took me this long to figure it out. Demigod of the wind and sea. Hero of Man. Hero of Men and Women. Hero to All! I can't believe it! I'm a huge fan of yours! You're exploits are legendary!" Said Julien.

"Great another fan." Mumbled Moana to Chelsea.

"Hey everyone this party just got a whole lot better. A legend has joined us!" Said Julien to the other lemurs.

The lemurs cheered in excitement. Maui just smiled and waved to the crowd.

"Your highness, don't you find it a bit weird and concerning that someone like Maui is here and is asking about the guardian. Maui did steal the heart of Te Fiti and he might be after what Glo is guarding." Whispered Maurice to Julien.

"Oh lighten up and stop being a worrywart Maurice. Just enjoy the party. Glo has kept her little trinket safe for years and has beaten all kinds of monsters and thieve, she can look after herself. Now let us focus on having a good time and entertaining our guests!" Said Julien.

"Very well my king." Muttered Maurice.

"Please join us honored guests." Said Julien.

"Can our friends join us as well?" Asked Moana.

"Sure the more the merrier." Said Julien.

Ruby made herself visible surprising the lemurs as she gave a smile and a wave.

"A kraken! You really have some interesting friends, Maui." Said Julien.

"Why was she camouflaged?" Asked Maurice.

"We first thought you were humans and Ruby didn't want to freak anyone out, since krakens haven't interacted with humans for a thousand years, so she camouflaged herself and waited to see what kind of people we were dealing with." Said Chelsea.

"Makes sense to me." Said Julien with a shrug.

The rest of the Bad Guys then walked forward and revealed themselves and Shark decided to drop his disguise. The lemurs saw these newcomers and unlike with Ruby a look of fear and dread appeared on their faces. They had big fears of predators monsters and Wolf, Snake, Shark, and Piranha looked pretty fierce and might try to devour them. Webs was also scary, but the lemurs weren't too scared of her due to her size and their numbers. Maui saw the fear in the lemurs and quickly calmed them down before anyone could scream or run.

"Whoa! Relax these guys are cool. They aren't going to hurt or eat anyone. Right guys." Said Maui casting a look over at the Bad Guys.

Wolf and his gang quickly got the message.

"Yeah we're cool." Said Wolf.

The other Bad Guys nodded in agreement.

"We vouch for them." Said Moana as Ruby and Chelsea nodded.

The lemurs exchanged looks and whispered among themselves before Julien spoke.

"Very well. If these guys are cool with Maui and he and his other friends voutch for them then they can join in on the festivities."

"That's nice then can we be introduced to the guardian?" Asked Moana.

"Sure. Sure. Now we party!" Said Julien.

The music kicked up again as everyone began dancing. Maui was directed to the center of the clearing and he began to dance and show off his tattoos much to the enjoyment of the lemurs. Moana joined in the dancing followed by Ruby and Chelsea. Webs wondered over to one of the crumbs and demonstrated some really good drumming skills with her arms and legs, which the lemurs found impressive. Piranha danced as well as he sang. Wolf, Shark, and Snake stood to the side watching everything.

"So what exactly are we doing?" Whispered Snake

"The locals know the guardian and they promise to introduce us to her afterwards." Whispered Shark.

"So we need to play nice if we want to meet the guardian and either the locals will put in a good word for us to help convince her to give us the key or we work on a plan to steal it. Right now let's just enjoy ourselves." Whispered Wolf.

"Fine by me." Whispered Shark before moving out and doing a little dance and demonstrating his shapeshifting powers.

"Should be easy enough." Whispered Snake as he slither away and helped himself to some fruit.

"One step closer to the big score." Said Wokf to himself as he danced out to the center and showed off some of his own moves.

The lemurs were impressed with their guests and they all had a good time, but little did anyone know, things were going to take a terrible turn.
