Chapter 25 Lemur Rescue

Moana, Maui, Ruby, Chelsea, and the Bad Guys were enjoying the party with the lemurs, when a female lemur suddenly came racing into the clearing screaming.
"The Fossas! The Fossas! They snuck in and stole nearly all the children!"
This immediately brought the party to a stop as all the lemurs began to panic and talk among themselves about what to do. Moana then spoke.
"Um who exactly are the Fossas?"
"The Fossas are a tribe of monsters that live deep in the jungle. They are fierce and they enjoy tormenting us and devouring are people." Said Maurice.
"They're also party crashes." Grumbled Julien.
"So what do you plan to do about the kids they took?" Asked Ruby.
"Really not much we can do. Usually we would summon the guardian for help, but she's busy and by the time we get her it'll be too late." Said Maurice.
"Too late, unless we had someone else save the children. Someone like Maui!" Said Julien looking at Maui.
"Well I am a awesome hero. Saving some kids from a tribe of monsters will be easy." Said Maui doing a little flex.
"Plus you have all of us helping." Said Chelsea.
"Why should we help?" Mumbled Snake looking at Wolf.
"Because if we help the lemurs out they'll be grateful and be sure to put in a good word with the guardian, which will make getting the key a whole lot easier." Said Wolf.
"Yeah this whole rescuing kids from monsters is basically just stealing. We're good at that." Said Webs.
"Fine." Grumbled Snake.
"Don't you worry lemurs will get your kids back and will make sure the Fossas won't ever bother you again." Said Maui.
The lemurs cheered and Maurice and the others directions to where the Fossas lived. Maui and the others then headed out to rescue the kids.
"So exactly what is the plan?" Asked Moana.
"Well first we should get a look at what we're dealing with, then we come up with a plan." Said Wolf.
"Probably don't need too much of a plan to deal with these guys." Said Maui.
"We really don't know much about the Fossas." Said Ruby.
"Oh we know enough already. They terrorize and feast on the lemurs, which tells us they're bullies and cowards, who most likely have never faced anything bigger then themselves. Guys like that are super easy to handle." Said Maui.
"We still don't know how many of them we're dealing with. If they have a lot of numbers on their side, we could be in trouble." Said Chelsea.
"Fine, will scout them out then we come up with a plan to deal with them." Said Maui.
After some more walking the group came across a more barren and rocky part of the island. Moana and the others crouched down behind some bushes and rocks to hide themselves and eventually they got their first real look at the Fossas.
The Fossas were medium-sized lion-like predator monsters with brown fur and yellow eyes. They walked in all fours as they patrolled their territory and hung around with each other. A few Fossas gnawed on bones. There appeared to be a few dozen of them scattered about.
"Huh. These guys don't look so tough. We can take them with ease." Said Maui.
"Where are the children?" Said Moana.
"Leave it to me. Time to show you my skills." Said Webs as she headed forward.
The others watched as Webs snuck from one rock to another using her small size to her advantage to sneak by the Fossas. Webs then reached one large Ricky wall and crawled along it avoiding the Fossas and heading deeper into the territory. She made her way to a large clearing where she saw a makeshift cage made out of sticks and bones with dozens of lemur children held inside. The children looked unharmed, but scared. A few tall rocks and a couple of dead tress hung over the cage. Webs then took notice of a large throne made from rocks a few yards away from the cage. Sitting in the throne was a much larger Fossa who must have been the leader or king of the Fossas.
The King Fossa muscular build, with brown eyes, and a white mane slanting down his back. He appeared to be standing on two legs instead of four and he wore a bird skull with feathers on his head like a crown.
Webs snuck back to her friends and told them what she saw.
"So we got a lot of Fossas, a big tough looking leader, and lemur hostages in a cage." Said Wolf.
"So what's the plan?" Asked Moana.
"First we do a bit of looking around to see what kind of stuff we can use to our advantage. It's best to lure these guys away from their turf." Said Wolf.
The group looked around a bit and came across a large oval canyon with high rock walls.
"What do you think Webs, would this make a good place to lure the Fossas and trap them?" Asked Wolf looking at Webs.
Webs studied the area for a couple of minutes then nodded her head.
"Yeah I can make this work." Said Webs.
Webs had Maui, Shark, and Wolf setup a stack of boulders near the opening of the canyon and prop them up with some sticks. The plan was to lure the Fossas into the canyon and use the boulders to block the entry way. It wouldn't be super high and the Fossas would be able to climb out, but it would take time. Plenty of time for the kids to be rescued.
"Alright here's the plan. Maui and Shark turn yourselves into some big juicy looking animals that will get the Fossas attention and lure them here, so we can trap them. While they're trapped trying to get out, will rescue the kids." Said Wolf.
"I like it, but I think we need to do a bit more." Said Maui.
"What do you mean?" Asked Moana.
"I mean just trapping the Fossas and rescuing the kids isn't going to solve anything. The Fossas will simply get out and start terrorizing and eating the lemurs once we're gone. We need to send them a message and put a stop to them." Said Maui.
"We get to fight them then?" Asked Piranha with a eager look in his eyes.
"We fight them." Said Maui.
"Well there's no guarantee all the Fossas will fall into our little trap. We should split up into two teams. One traps and deals with the Fossas and the other focuses on rescuing the kids." Said Wolf.
"You can lead the rescuing to me, Ruby, and Chelsea." Said Moana.
"I'll come to. I know where the kids are kept. It'll be a girls' mission." Said Webs.
"And the rest of us will lure the Fossas away and deal with them." Said Maui.
With that said the two teams went to work. Wolf and Piranha headed into the canyon ready to fight, Snake waited by the sticks that would trigger the boulders, and the rest of the two teams headed back to the Fossas' territory to begin the mission.
Maui and Shark huddled together to discuss how they would lure the Fossas away. After a few minutes of discussing the two used their respective powers to transform. Maui turned into a lemur wearing a grass hula skirt and flower laurel and Shark turned into a large fat warthog wearing a hula skirt and laurel. The two then stepped into the view of the Fossas getting their attention as they danced and yelled at the top of their lungs.
"Luau! Who here wants some fat juicy meat? My friend here is a real tasty treat!" Said Maui.
"Yep! I'm nice and fat!" Said Shark.
All the Fossas focused in on Maui and Shark with looks of glee and mouths dripping with drool. Maui and Shark gave the Fossas some smiles and took off running with the Fossas in hot pursuit. Soon the area was deserted. Moana, Ruby, Chelsea, and Webs crept on into the territory to save the children.
Maui and Shark raced into the canyon with the majority of the Fossas after them. As soon as they entered the canyon, Snake knocked down the sticks propping the boulders up and they fell blocking the canyon entrance. The Fossas turned to the blocked entrance in confusion then they turned to Maui and Shark as they transformed into their normal selves and stood alongside Wolf and Piranha.
"Hello boys." Said Wolf.
"Who are you?" Demanded one of the Fossas.
"I am Maui demigod of the wind and sea and hero to all and these are my friends. We're here because you've been causing quite a lot of trouble to the lemurs and we're going to put a stop to that." Said Maui.
"No one tells the Fossas what to do!" Shouted one Fossas.
"Then will just beat you up then! I'm itching for a fight!" Yelled Piranha before he rushed ar the Fossas and began to punch, headbutt, and bite them.
Maui, Shark, and Wolf charged in as well to join the fight. As Maui had said earlier the Fossas were bullies and cowards who were incredibly used to dealing with creatures smaller and weaker then themselves, so they weren't too much of a problem for Maui and the others to handle. Snake sat on a boulder watching the fight unfold.
Back in the Fossas' territory, Moana, Ruby, Chelsea, and Webs had snuck to where the children were being kept. King Fossa was still around along with four other Fossas. Webs lead the other girls to the large rocks and dead trees hanging over the cage. They all climbed up and Webs instructed Ruby to use her eye lasers to blast a small hole into the top of the cage. Ruby did so, and the group held their breath waiting to see if the Fossas had heard the noise. They didn't and the girls let out a sigh of relief. Webs then lowered her self down to the cage using her webbing. The children looked at Webs fearfully as she entered the cage.
"Hey relax, I'm not going to eat you or anything. Your village sent me and my friends to come rescue you. Now let's get you out of here." Said Webs.
The kids calmed down and Webs went about carrying the kids back up to the tree one at a time. Webs worked fast and all but one lemur kind named Mort was out. As Webs carried Mort out, he sneezed loudly getting the attention of the Fossa King and his minions.
"Thieves! No one steals from King Fossa! Stop them!" Yelled King Fossas.
The Fossas charged towards the girls. Moana picked up a rock and hurled it striking one Fossa and knocking it to the ground, Chelsea pulled out her trident and blasted two Fossas knocking them away, and Ruby blasted one with her laser eyes. King Fossa let out a roar of rage as he charged forward. Ruby and Chelsea tried to blast King Fossa, but he was too quick and managed to reach the rock they were on and slammed into it with all his might shaking the whole thing greatly. Moana lost her balance from the shaking and fell off and King Fossa quickly grabbed her and held her up.
"Surrender or she dies!" Said King Fossa.
Ruby and Chelsea looked at King Fossa not sure what to do. Webs took action and fired a glob of webbing into King Fossa's making him scream in surprise and let go of Moana. Moana dropped to the ground and faced King Fossa wishing she had some kind of weapon to strike the monster leader.
"Catch!" Called Chelsea as she tossed Moana her trident.
Moana caught the trident and pointed it at King Fossa as he removed some of the webbing from his eyes and tried to rush Moana. The trident glowed in Moana's hands before it let out a mighty burst of energy that struck King Fossa in the chest sending him flying back and crashing into his throne smashing it to bits and knocked Moana onto her back.
"That...hurt." Groaned Moana sitting up.
"Yeah should have warned you about the kickback. Sorry about that." Said Chelsea as she climbed down from the rock.
"It's fine." Said Moana as Chelsea helped her up and she gave the mermaid the trident back.
The others climbed down from the rock as well and they all crept over to King Fossa, who was out cold with the front of his chest a bit scorched, but he appeared to still be breathing.
"I think King Fossa and his followers will get the message not to mess with the lemurs." Said Ruby.
"I thin so too." Said Moana.
"We make a pretty good team." Said Webs.
The girls and the rescued kids walked away from the scene.
Back in the canyon, Maui and the others had finished beating up the Fossas and the monsters were stacked up in one big pile. Maui located one Fossa that was still fairly conscious and picked him up.
"Alright pal listen up. I need you to deliver a message. You and your tribe are no longer allowed to mess with the lemurs in anyway. If you mess with them, will come back to deliver a worse beating then this, understood." Said Maui.
The Fossa nodded his head and Maui dropped him. Maui and the others headed out of the canyon and were soon rejoined by the girls.
"I see you rescued the kids, were there any problems?" Said Wolf.
"We had to fight the leader, but we beat him pretty good, so I don't think he and the rest of the Fossas will be that much of a problem to the lemurs anymore." Said Webs.
"Excellent. Now let's take these kids home and see about meeting that guardian." Said Wolf.
With that said the group headed back to the lemurs' territory to return the kids and hopefully get the key they needed.
