Chapter 28 Escape Plan

The devouring of Moana's boat and the Bad Guys' boat did not go unnoticed. Flying in the air above was the pirate bird Silas, who had been sent on ahead by Gutt to spy on Maui and the others. Silas was incredibly shocked to witness Monstro appear and quickly devour Maui along with the two boats and their crews. He watched Monstro go under and quickly flew back to report what happened to Gutt and the others.
"What have you to report?" Asked Gutt as Silas landed before him.
"Maui and the others are dead!" Said Silas.
"What happened?" Demanded Gutt.
"They ran into Monstro and he swallowed them all whole along with their boats!" Said Silas.
Gutt blinked his eyes in shock as the pirates whispered among themselves wondering what their next move should be now that their prey was most likely dead. Dave's boat came up alongside Gutt's boat and the octopus monster and his crew were told what happened.
"Well this most certainly took a unexpected turn." Said Dave.
"So what do we do now captain?" Asked Squint.
"Well Tentacular and the other big monsters aren't going to be happy about this." Said Gutt.
"I don't think they care too much about the fate of Maui's little gang or the Bad Guys. They're more interested in the treasure that was on them. The heart of Te Fiti and one of the keys to the Instrument of Destruction." Said Dave.
"Yes the fate of the treasure is the biggest concern. Both items are magical and made of strong stuff, so there's a chance that the heart and the key will work their way out of Monstro's body. We could follow Monstro and wait for him to expel the items and search through his waste, though that is both a dangerous and disgusting task." Said Gutt.
"Not to mention we don't really know if something like the heart would pass through Monstro intact or break apart in his stomach. If the heart breaks up there's a good chance Monstro would gain it's power." Said Dave.
"That's a horrifying thought." Said Gutt.
"Monstro could become the most powerful monster in the world." Said Dave.
"We can't risk that. Do you have any potions or anything that'll make Monstro cough up the boats and the crew on them?" Asked Gutt.
"I got stuff that could make others cough up and regurgitate things, but nowhere near enough to make it work on Monstro." Said Dave.
"Curses! And we don't have the numbers and power to take something like Monstro on and cut him open." Said Gutt.
"We either have to call in reinforcements or wait and see what Maui's group and the Bad Guys do, who knows they may even escape from Monstro." Said Dave.
"Will just have to wait and see. I have to contact Tentacular and tell him what happened." Said Gutt going off to contact his boss.
Monstro swam beneath the water without a care in the world unaware of the importance of the things he had recently swallowed. He just swam about not giving a second though to his latest victims.
Moana laid on her deck groaning with Pua and Heihei laying next her. She glanced up and saw nothing but complete darkness around her, along the bad smell, and odd gurgling sounds, and that quickly reminded her of what had happened to her and her allies. Monstro had swallowed them whole! Moana felt a cold shiver of fear go down her back as she realized her luck just might have run out. She had managed to avoid being eaten by the monsters in Lalotai only to get eaten by Monstro.
It was then that there was a bright light nearby and Moana turned to see Ruby had activated her bioluminescence and Chelsea had pulled out her trident making it glow and cast some light in the area.
"Is everyone alright?" Asked Ruby.
"Me, Pua, and Heihei are fine." Said Moana.
"I'm still alive to." Said Maui as he sat up as well.
"Where are the Bad Guys?" Asked Chelsea.
The others looked around and saw the Bad Guys' boat a dozen yards away. Moana and Ruby pulled out some ores and began to paddle the boat towards the Bad Guys. Maui went through some of the supplies and found a torch to light to help provide some more light for the group. As they got closer to the other boat they saw the Bad Guys sit up groaning confirming they were all still alive.
"You alright? How's the boat?" Asked Maui.
"We're alright and the boat appears to be intact and undamaged." Said Wolf.
"Other then us being eaten alive and stuck in Monstro's belly, everything is just fine." Grumbled Snake.
"Hey relax man. We're alive and our boats are still in one piece, plus the stomach doesn't appear to be too active right now, so we got time to figure out a plan to get out of here." Said Maui.
"Yeah we just got to remain positive." Said Wolf.
"We're not going to have to eat each other are we?" Asked Piranha.
"No don't be crazy." Said Wolf.
"Well if we are forced to do that, I say we eat Shark first, he got the most meat." Said Piranha eyeing Shark.
"Not if I eat you first." Said Shark glaring at Piranha.
"Guys relax. Let's look around and see what we're dealing with." Said Wolf.
The others agreed and the two groups paddled their boats, with Ruby and Chelsea lighting the way. They soon came across Monstro's stomach wall. It was a big thick thing with veins and muscles.
"Now what?" Asked Webs.
"Now we fight our way out! Stand back, I got this!" Said Piranha stepping up to the stomach wall.
Everyone watched as Piranha proceed to punch, kick, and headbutt the stomach wall multiple times, before going at it with his teeth. The stomach wall proved itself to be too think and resilient as Piranha's blows bounced off of it and his sharp teeth could only sink a tiny bit into the wall. The blows barely registered to Monstro who continued to swim about. After a few more minutes of attacking the stomach wall, Piranha ran out of juice and stepped back panting.
"Yeah...that didn't work." Mumbled Piranha.
"Anyone else got any ideas?" Asked Webs.
"Why don't we have the mermaid and the kraken blast our way out with their powers." Said Snake looking at Chelsea and Ruby.
Ruby and Chelsea looked at each and then they studied the stomach wall and gave it a few pokes. It was very solid and slimy.
"I...mean we could give it a shot, but we really don't know what could happen. We might just make things worse." Said Chelsea.
"We don't know if our powers could cut through Monstro. It could just make him mad and we don't know if Monstro is on the surface or underwater." Said Ruby.
"What difference does that make?" Asked Snake.
"Well if Monstro is underwater and we manage to blast a hole through him that kills him, then he would sink with us still inside him." Said Ruby.
"That may not be too much of a problem for those that can breath underwater or change into a creature that can breath underwater, but we have six among us who can't breathe underwater." Said Chelsea indicating Moana, Pua, Heihei, Wolf, Snake, and Webs.
"Hey I can hold my breath a pretty long time." Said Snake.
"Yeah, but there's still the water pressure to worry about." Said Ruby.
"Mine, Ruby, Maui, Shark, and Piranha's bodies can handle the pressure, but I'm not sure about anyone else in our group." Said Chelsea.
"Guess that true." Mumbled Snake.
Ruby studied their surroundings and thought about jumping off the boat and turning into a giant kraken to attack the stomach walls with her fists and great strength. If the stomach acids became active, Ruby's hardened skin should be able to protect and her giant kraken strength should be able to cause Monstro's some serious stomach pain and force him to the surface if he was underwater and make him cough up the boats. Doing that would reveal Ruby's status as a giant kraken and her identity as the kraken princess, to the Bad Guys, but there really wasn't many options left.
Ruby called Chelsea and Moana over for a huddle and told them her plan to see what they thought about it.
"It could work." Said Chelsea.
Moana thought the plan over. Ruby's giant kraken strength did seem ideal for this situation, but there was still a chance Monstro might not surface and cough the boats up. She then glanced at Maui's torch and a clever and crazy idea began to form in her mind.
"I got it! We need more fire." Said Moana.
"What for?" Asked Maui.
"We're going to make Monstro sneeze us out." Said Moana with a grin.
"Well this is going to be interesting." Said Wolf.
"Hey if it gets us out, I'm down for anything." Said Webs.
"We need all the excess wood and materials we have to make a little boat as well as a good size fire that'll make a lot of smoke." Said Moana.
"You heard the girl lets get to it." Said Maui.
The two crews began to gather what they could use and spare for Moana's plan.
