Dark Years

Cassie Keller smiled as the cameras flashed. She snuck a glance for her boyfriend Sean. Who nodded. While Priscilla Wright glared angrily. Cassie walked out into the Boston heat. "It's finally over." "Freedom from conformity." Her little brother Alex laughed. That night they went out for pizza.

"So; Cass what about your future?" asked her father. It had been a hard move. She had made few friends and was often the target of bullying. After the craziness of The Evil Thing. Her relationship with Sean. Things had improved somewhat. Cassie took a sip of her beverage recollecting:

"I have to do this!" "It's my ticket in." Sean stressed. "I am going to Duke to follow my basketball dreams." So that was the end of their relationship.

"I was thinking of going to art school." Said Cassie. "That's great!" Her mom said. Her father looked skeptical but said nothing. The next day was Cassie Kellers first true blue day of adulthood. It was exciting and nerve racking. Cassie was going to have to get a job. Her parents would not let her live rent-free forever. Cassie was also craving change and adventure.

She had moved to Boston. Now wanted to move on. Unfortunately for Cassie. She knew getting a conformist job may mean the end of her goth girl. Cassie could also sell her art. She was very gifted. Knew however that would not sustain her.

The first couple of weeks Cassie spent with Sean. Saying goodbye. Tormenting Alex. Long walks with her MP3. As if predetermined Cassie would take another walk that would also drastically affect her life and those in it.
