Spidermanne reboot: chapter 1

Chapter 1: Anne boonchuy, origin

Anne Savisa Boonchuy.

Daughter of Oum and Bee Boonchuy. Thai descent, second generation U.S citizen.

15-no, 16 years old. Favourite colour: blue. Friends: Sasha Waybright, and Marcy regina wu. Cat: Domino. Tennis player, hopeless romantic.

Currently being bullied by Maggie.

"Hey, boobchuy!"

Anne sighed. Another day, another Idiot to ignore.

"Hey boobchuy! Watcha eating?"

"Just go away, Maggie," anne said, putting on her best smile.

"Not until you tell me what the heck that pile of puke is in your hands."

"Uuughh. It's called, 'khao niew bing', and it's not a puke bun."

"Oh, cool."

A pause.

"GIMME!"

"Hey, no! Get your own traditional thai snack!"

"Maggie, just go away."

They both turned around to see Sasha waybright, resident cheerleader/bad girl/ anne's best friend (one of two).

"I said, Go away."

"…right you are, Sasha!" She said, walking away with a sour look on her face.

Sasha smiled. "You know, you really gotta learn to look out for yourself. After all… YOU'RE 16 NOW! HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRLLL!"

"Thanks, Sash," Anne said, blushing. "It's not a big deal."

Sasha spluttered. "Not a big deal? You're the big 16! We're practically, like, adults now!"

A raven-haired girl came up. "Not for another two years, but she's got a point! You're only 16 once, Anne!"

This was Marcy wu, Anne's other best friend. Genius, Geek, and Video game master. Also holding the record for the highest medical bill in the entire school, and rising.

"I bet you're loving today more than me, right marcy?" Anne chuckled. "Seriously, though. Why'd the science fair gotta be on my birthday?"

"Don't worry, Anne, it's still your special day." Then her face grinned. "But I can't lie, i'm hella excited for today."

"More excited than usual, or…?" Asked Sasha, with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah! You heard of Stanford pines?"

"Rings a bell," Anne said.

"He's coming to visit the city and he decided to come to the science fair this year! And his line of work specialises in anomalies. The statistically impossible. so i decided to prepare something special!"

And she pulled out a jar.

"Say hello to Charlie Bigbottom."

"A spider?" Sasha asked.

"Not just any spider… a super-spider! I managed to splice the DNA of a few different types of spider, and this lil' guy has traits of 15 different types!"

"And you managed this how?" Anne asked amusedly.

"You'd be surprised how cheap this stuff is in this day and age," marcy chuckled, tapping the Jar with tiny holes in it. The spider crawled around the jar.

It was during the fair and mr. Pines, along with his assistant dipper, his 21 year old nephew, were touring the different projects. They were fairly disinterested in most, most being your average potato alarm clocks and coke bottle volcanoes, but one caught their eye in particular.

"I take it you are Marcy Wu?"

"Yes, sir! I must say, i'm a big fan of your work! Your research on the multiverse is unparalleled! I read some of your papers!"

"Well, i can see you're top of your class, and… well, multiple years above you as well. You can do great things in the future, miss Wu."

"Thank you!" She said on the verge of tears.

"Now what do we have here?" He said, looking into the small jar.

"This, mr pines, is a super-spider! Bred 'em myself."

"Fascinating," he mumbled, reading the research marcy had left out. "From what i can see, this has the traits of multiple types of spiders! And you've managed to isolate their most interesting abilities!" He paused. "Are they safe to take out?"

"Of course, sir. They're not venomous, i made sure of that before bringing them into school. You're free to even hold one, as long as you don't scare it. So no loud noises or sudden movements."

"Got it. I'm impressed with your work, miss wu."

Marcy shed a tear.

In the crowd around, there were multiple different groups. The science ones were jealous of marcy for the attention she was getting from such a well-known figure. The teachers were proud that one of their very own was at this level. Some were mildly interested at the concept of a cool spider.

Anne and Sasha were at the front, watching marcy. Although not into science at all, they were proud of marcy and knew how much this meant to her. Suddenly a gaggle of students were pushed aside by maggie.

"Lemme see!"

One student was knocked over by maggie. This student just happened to be eating some leftover mentos from his project. When tripping, he accidentally spit them out, all 3 landing perfectly in the mouth of a coke volcano. This caused it to erupt with much more power than it should have, scaring the spider out of ford's hand.

"Somebody get that spider!" He shouted.

"Why did i have to give it jumping spider DNA?" Sighed marcy.

Anne looked around for the spider and found it under a table. She picked it up and went to bring it over to marcy's table.

"Ow!"

Sasha turned around, concerned. "You ok, Anne?"

"Yup!" Anne said. The spider had bitten her. She could see the mark. But it was fine, right? Marcy said it was safe.

"Thank you, miss," mr. Pines said, gently taking the spider out of Anne's hand. In the background, maggie was being given detention by the science teacher for messing marcy's project up.

"Well, i can tell you're a gifted student, miss wu. You'd always be welcome to intern with me at some point."

"Really?" She said, wide eyed."

"Really," he smiled. "After all, Dipper is growing up. He can't work under me forever."

Anne, Sasha and Marcy were walking back after hanging out in town for Anne's birthday. They decided to go home a little earlier as Anne was feeling pretty tired.

"You ok back there, anne?" Sasha asked.

"What d'you mean?" Anne replied groggily.

"Well, you said "ow," when holding the spider. Did it bite you?"

"Yeah, i think. But it's fine! Marcy said it wasn't venomous."

"No, it's not venomous, don't worry," she smiled. "But it does still have instincts that make it think it's venomous, so it still bites when threatened. You'll be fine, don't worry."

"Oh, cool! Thanks marcy!" Anne said. Sasha pulled her into a hug.

"Happy birthday, Anne. See ya tomorrow."

Anne returned the hug, blushing. "Thanks," she said. She couldn't tell her best friend how she felt. Not right now.

Anne returned home and, after having some dinner and celebrating with her parents, went to bed. She still felt pretty weird but it was fine. Probably just feeling under the weather. She fell asleep within a few minutes.

She woke up and was feeling… hungry. Like, really hungry. But other than that, she felt fine. Better than ever, in fact.

She woke up to get dressed and passed by the mirror, taking a quick look.

She then took a double turn after realising what she saw. She had abs! She wasn't like insanely muscly, and people would barely notice if they weren't looking, but she didn't have those before.

"What the heck?"

Hey!

So if you didn't know, i just couldn't continue my old fanfic for spiderman x amphibia. This is both because i was really bad at writing it and other reasons i'd rather not discuss. Things were going on in my life at that point and I don't really want to think about them.

The point is, i've rebooted it and i'm taking a different turn on the story. I hope you enjoyed the first chapter!

PS: I don't do shipping much but i'm doing a Sashanne ship for this one. I'm probably going to write a sasharcy one in the future and a marcanne one at some other point if you want me to.
