While I'm glad everyone is "excited" that I'm restarting this story, keep in mind that I have a life outside of FanFiction and time does not wait for for everyone and all. lol

A little Daedalus method of speech considering what this chapter will entail. lol

Also, no spoilers for how I'm gonna write this chapter. lol

The Brother Of Hercules

Chapter 32

Maelstrom & The Minotaur

Shop Class

As it turns out, Zeus and Hera were pretty shocked that their son was a reincarnated soul from another plain of existence, but, then again, they were gods, as long as that universe's gods don't interfere with their own universe and the one who brought Naruto's soul to this version of earth gained permission to do so, then they wouldn't cause any waves, not to mention that they need to keep the concept of the "Multiverse" quiet for the time being from the mortals, otherwise they'll start questioning their whole existence, so after making sure that Maelstrom and Hercules, along with their group doesn't cause any "leaks," though the gods may have to erase Icarus's mind of the event, though considering how "flighty" the boy's mind was, it might be safe.

So with that out of the way, everyone went on about their businesses, though things became a little weird when Aphrodite made an appearance, wanting to hear about Maelstrom's past lovelife and if he had a harem then as well, which caused the boy and his girls to blush at the thought, though as he reluctantly starts talking, under protest, Helen couldn't help but have a sense of deja vu when Maelstrom talked about a certain shy and fainting dark haired girl from his past, making her wonder why it seems so familiar to her.

But when Maelstrom talks about a certain pinkette, BY THE GODS the girls were furious, even Aphrodite was just as furious that a girl with her favourite colour for hair would even hurt Maelstrom's past life, though granted by the sounds of things Naruto was a bit "much" to deal with, but there were better ways to deal with him than pummelling him into the ground over nothing.

Once the girls and goddess have managed to calm down a little, though there was still some anger left which scared the reincarnated ninja for obvious reasons, he very quickly explained that he ended up with Hinata the shy and fainting dark haired girl, which he then stated that from his own memories, she was pretty cute in an awkward way, which caused Helen to blush for some reason that she can't really figure out why.

Anyway, once Aphrodite had her "fill" especially after dragging out the whole "bedroom" part of things, which caused the girls to blush since that was pretty much "pushing it" for them, minus Rachnera for obvious reasons, though the spider did ask Maelstrom if he remembers ALL the "Make Out" books that Jiraiya had written and if Maelstrom could write them himself, with the "ex-ninja" asking with a cautious, "Why?" Since he pretty much had an idea of where she was going with that train of thought, along with a red, embarrassed face.

Though Rachnera didn't really reply, since it was pretty obvious that Maelstrom DOES remember reading THOSE books, considering that Naruto did travel around for 3 years with the pervert, it stands to reason that he'd "remember" each and every detail of those books, especially after helping write and spell check the last one.

But let's move on from that area, since it turns out that at night, while Maelstrom was asleep, Rachnera had snuck into his room, whispering into his ears about the "books" which due to his exhaustion, he answered every and all the questions she had about them without realising, along with her having a notebook to write down every little detail that had came out of the sleeping demigod's mouth, to the point that she ended up publishing each of the books into scroll versions of them, along with adding her own "flavour" to them, meaning that Jiraiya's "books" were now apart of the Greek world that even Phil was a fan of, though Maelstrom questioned how such a thing got out, Rachnera decided to keep quiet about it while continuing the "novels" under a pen name, which also happened to be Jiraiya's name, just to tease Maelstrom some more.

But we're getting off topic, since right now, everyone was in Shop Class, under the tutelage of Daedalus, the greatest inventor of all of Greece, who also happens to be Icarus's father, with the boy lovingly calls him "DADalus" in front of everyone, causing the inventor to be somewhat embarrassed that his son would do such a thing.

Though the man wanted the class to create something inspiring, it turns out the school board denied such a project, deciding that it was a "better" idea for the students to build birdhouses instead, though while the students did the classical, underwhelming birdhouse, though Hercules's was just a bunch of twigs in the shape of one which fell apart and became a "bird nest" instead, Maelstrom decided to be invented creating something original and quite splendid, giving it the "next level" look.

Which made the inventor smile that one of his students had took his time to create such a thing, the man could tell that Maelstrom did so in order to not only inspire him, but to also not give up on his inventive creativity.

But, for now, he'll "shelf" his ideas for another time, just like what he's doing with the birdhouses, which caused a few scrolls to get knocked down and hit him, where he came to the conclusion that his genius was wasted on and being held back by the school board, so with that he sets off for Crete in order to build a giant elaborate maze called, The Labyrinth, for the king of Crete, who happens to be the enemy of Athens and a tyrant to his people, but Daedalus was only focusing on his invention being brought to life.

Even with Maelstrom, Hercules, Cassandra and Icarus trying to make the man change his mind, but he was too set to complete his idea, "Oh, also son, I'll be bringing young Maelstrom with us as well, with his strength and ingenuity, he'll make a fine assistant for me, with permission from both the school and his parents of course."

Which made Maelstrom jerk up to attention, "Wait, WHAT!?" Since this was news to himself as well, since he didn't want to "visit" Crete and meet the mad tyrant that ran the place.

But before he could protest, Daedalus was quick to state, "Relax my boy, nothing will happen, since the king wants my help with this project he wouldn't try to do anything to harm you since you'll be under my protection as my assistant in this endeavor."

Try as he might, Maelstrom figures that the school and his parents felt that Maelstrom could handle such a task, as well as be there for the inventor and his son's protection, considering who was assigning the inventor to such a thing.

With that, Maelstrom helped the ship's crew with the boxes that Daedalus had brought with them, though when they asked if the pulleys that the man had invented could be used for the ship, the man denied such a thing, "Actually Mr Daedalus, if you allowed such a thing, it could cause quite the revolution for all ships to have these pulleys on them, heck, there could be quite the market for such a thing that you could live off of the royalties all the way to your future descendants, hell, even they could live a comfortable life off of the pulleys."

Hearing Maelstrom say such a thing made Daedalus think about such wealth, making him realise that Maelstrom was right, but then his mind came screeching to a halt, "Nope, sorry my boy, but I didn't get into inventing for the money, I did it for the inspiration, to try and inspire others to explore and be creative in there own way," The man exclaimed, "Though the thought of riches is quite tempting, but, no, I've made my choice and must stick true to it."

Obviously Maelstrom wasn't trying to tempt Daedalus or anything, he just figured the man could have some money coming in for the pulleys, but must admit that it was quite inspiring that the man wasn't gonna quit his inventive stride, so he decided to follow him, telling Hercules and Cassandra that he'll be back once Daedalus had settled his "inventive thirst" and wants to return back.

On The Seas

"CRRRRRAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Though as it turns out, due to an giant automaton known as Talos, that threw a giant boulder that sank the boat that the group was on, with Maelstrom realising that this trip may be more trouble than it was worth.

Not to mention how it also should've been a warning sign, a BIG one at that, Maelstrom couldn't really help but continue on with his "job" as Daedalus's assistant, but mostly he wanted to make sure the father-son duo would be safe.

Though while the trio were being fished out by the king, Hercules had decided to be creative by actually trying to complete Daedalus's flying machine, though at one point his hammer had slipped and bashed Adonis on the head.

Anyway, once the trio were fished out of the sea and dried off, the King began showing them around, after Daedalus had introduced both his son and his assistant to the king, stating that with Maelstrom's strength the labyrinth would be completed by at least half time, which the king was all too delighted to hear.

Though Icarus and Maelstrom were a little "weary" of the king, even though he explained that he'd reformed and turned over a "new leaf," along with there being a peace treaty, but the two boys still had mixed feelings about the whole thing.

But as it turned out, there was a Peace Treaty, just not the type that people were thinking of, where an Athenian youth was to go to Crete to face his doom, though it was "worded" completely different, which had apparently hooked up Hercules, who wishes to go to Crete to visit his brother and Icarus.

All the while it was well into the night, with Daedalus explaining some magic thread that Icarus was looking at, which would help the workers not get lost in the maze, though the inventor soon asked both boys to unpack the last box that the king had brought in.

But once Icarus started getting curious and poking about the thing, a loud roar had practically destroyed the box, leaving behind a caged Minotaur, yelling at Icarus to stop annoying him, though Maelstrom stepped in front of Icarus for a little more protection, where the king quickly explained that the maze was a prison for the Minotaur, though Maelstrom had a feeling that the king had other ideas for the monster, as well as a strange sense that he knew the monster from somewhere.

A Month Later

So far the Labyrinth was completed, with the monster being dropped into it, where it kept trying to find the exit, but obviously it can't, though at some point Daedalus began gloating towards the monster, making both Icarus and Maelstrom a little nervous, since it seemed quite out of character for the inventor to do such a thing, though soon a caged Hercules made an appearance, stating that he figured he'd sign up for the "Extremely Dangerous Combat" that Crete was hosting in order to see his friend and brother.

Though when Maelstrom heard this, he quickly realised that the king had lied about the maze being a prison for the Minotaur, though before he could do anything, the King had quickly dropped the demigods into the maze, having already know who Maelstrom was due to his resources and what to expect from the teen when he figured things out.

Where the 3 trapped beings try to figure out a way out of the maze, though luckily Maelstrom had met up with his brother, but unluckily the Minotaur had picked up their scent, pretty much pinning them as demigods, though one of them had a familiar scent to them that he couldn't quite pin.

At some point Icarus had tried to help the brothers out with the magic thread, only for the Minotaur to grab it and dragged the boy into the maze before him, which caused Icarus to runaway in terror.

Before long all 3 boys had bumped into each other, but this also allowed the Minotaur to make his own appearance, "Ah, I know that scent now, you boy, tell me, do you know a female Minotaur by the name Cathyl."

Which caused all 3 teens to be surprised at the question, with Maelstrom replying awkwardly, "Um, yeah, I do, but how'd you know her."

Hearing this the male Minotaur exclaimed, "Why, she's my daughter, I haven't seen her in years, not since the time I almost tried to eat her when she was just a baby, how has she been doing after escaping with her human mother after I was locked away."

Maelstrom couldn't believe how "casual" the Minotaur was being, especially about the part of trying to eat his own daughter, but the reincarnated ninja replied all the same, "S-She's fine, she's actually working for our school delivering milk."

With the monster nodding in agreement, "So, tell me, how did you both meet."

Now Maelstrom became worried, "We actually met during that "no sleep" thing that was plaguing all of Greece, she needed some help due to some health issues and since I was the only one around I helped out." He answered, while trying to keep certain "details" from Hercules and Icarus, mostly for obvious reasons.

The Minotaur soon figured out what the teen was saying, "I see, tell me boy, how close are you with my daughter." He soon growled out, but whether it was a fatherly protection or because his "prey" was being taken away would be anyone's guess.

As for Maelstrom, don't get him wrong, he'd stand his ground against anyone, though a possible "protective father" would cause the mental psychology of fear to come out of any young man wishing to date a man's daughter, "W-We're quite close."

Before long, Icarus jumped in, "Herc, Mael, you both need to stop him before he uses the magic thread to get out of the maze!"

Which caused two things, the monster to realise what the thread was for, and Maelstrom to give Icarus a tap to the head yelling that he's got a BIG mouth, before long the monster was running away, wanting to create some distance between the teens before using it, since while it's pretty obvious that the blond demigod was dating his daughter, he figured the best punishment would be for the boy to be trapped in the Labyrinth, the other two were just a bonus.

Though while the teens were running around, having lost the monster, Daedalus wasn't being idle either, having took control of the giant automaton that had thrown a boulder at his ship, he starts maneuvering it in order to save his son and the two demigods, though complains about getting the thing fine-tuned in order to work more easily later.

But while he plans to use it to thrash the king that caused such a mess, the Minotaur soon made his appearance, causing the inventor to try and escape the monster, though pretty soon, the bull was taken care of, having been tossed back into the maze once more, with the king actually having the "bright idea" of trying to go through it as a "shortcut" to the other side, instead of going around it, where it just so happens, the Minotaur had ended up landing right in front of the group, allowing him to start chasing the king and his men through the maze, and with no magic thread, the group was gonna be stuck there for an exceedingly long time.

Though the group was rowing on a boat back to Athens, Daedalus on the other hand was nonplussed, having felt that he didn't accomplish his dream, that is until the students, and Maelstrom's girls made an appearance in the flying machine that Daedalus had designed, making the man happy.

As for Maelstrom, he ended up talking to Cathyl about meeting her father, which caused a bunch of other stuff that would be best left alone for him to deal with.

The End.

There you go, another one after a couple of days, also, I figured that The Minotaur would be Cathyl's father, so why not. lol

I also figured who better to be Daedalus's assistant than Maelstrom, which would be the reason why Daedalus had brought the demigod along with him. lol

But all in all, I hope everyone enjoyed the chapter.

I Do Not Own Naruto Or Hercules.
