Rissa was chatting with Vik, but actually, she was only thinking about two things. One was how to get Elena's blood. The other was how to shut Guy up. He couldn't stop complaining about how his head hurt. It was annoying. Yes, he was in transition, but, like, we get it, now shut up.

Vik was being very nice. She missed him. Maybe. She wasn't sure. Can you miss someone when your humanity is off? Probably. It's not exactly an emotion. She wondered if Vik missed her, too. If only she could know…

-You know, Riss, I missed you.- that seemed to help.

-Missed you, too,- she smiled. -Just not the jacket.

-Ugh, not with the jacket again!

-You're the one who insists on wearing it!

-It's my dad's!

-Oh, okay, just wait a sec, I'll be right back, Imma go upstairs and put on some leather jacket I'll get from my dad's closet!

-Don't you dare.- Damon said, not even looking up from his book.

-You were listening?!

-Yup. Vamp hearing is not something you get over.

-Wanna talk somewhere else?- she asked Vik. He chuckled, about to answer, but then someone knocked on the door. Awkward silence. Another knock.

-Uhhh… I'll get it?- Guy asked. Damon glared at him. He used that as an excuse to run to the door. He opened it. There stood a girl he's never met before.

-I don't know you.- he said.

-I don't know you, either. I'm Stephanie, I'm Damon and Elena's daughter.

-I'm Guy. I'm Marissa's boyfriend. Maybe.

-Maybe?

-Yes. I am not sure about that.

-Okay,- Damon said, slightly pushing him. -Sorry to interrupt your fascinating conversation, but I can't listen to it anymore. Steph, come in.

-Hi dad. You're shirtless.

-Yeah, I noticed,- Damon said, smiling sarcastically. -Everyone's inside.

-And everyone is?

-Rissa, this Guy guy and Vik Donovan.- Steph came in. She was wondering about how Rissa could possibly have a boyfriend. Did he know she was a vampire? Was she compelling him? Did he actually like her? Why was he even here? What did he mean by "maybe"? Most importantly, what was Rissa doing here? With her being a vampire, not to mention her humanity being turned off, she definitely had to keep her distance from Damon, of all people. He's been there, and he knows Marissa really well. It was not smart and Steph knew Rissa knew that. If she was here, not to mention she brought some "boyfriend", she must have had a really good reason to come.

-Hi, Steph!- Vik said. That made Rissa turn her head. She saw her sister. What was Stephanie doing here? This was bad. Really bad. Steph knew. She knew everything. About the vampirism, the humanity… she didn't know about Guy. Marissa really needed to talk to her sister. Then she remembered that Damon was here. She had to pretend nothing bad happened. She ran over to Steph and hugged her:

-Hi! I missed you!

-Hi, Rissa.

-Oh, wait, just remembered,- Marissa said, pulling back. -I have to talk to you. In private.

Steph followed her sister out of the room, feeling Damon look at them suspiciously. Rissa clearly overdid it. She knew that, too, but said nothing. They came into Rissa's room. Steph closed the door behind them, but before she could ask anything, her little sister put a hand on her throat and pressed her up against the wall.

-What's your problem?!- Marissa hissed.

-My problem?- Steph asked weakly. It hurt. -You're the one who's currently acting like a psychopath!

Marissa let go:

-What are you doing here?

-I was upset and I came to see Mom and Dad. What are you doing here? Who is Guy? Why did you come? This is dangerous for you!

-If I tell you, you won't believe me!

-I'll believe pretty much anything at this point!

-Okay… Guy is a hybrid in transition. He has to drink doppelgänger blood in the next 10-or-so hours to survive. That means Mom.

-Yeah, well, why do you care if he survives or not?

-Because if he doesn't, I'll be killed as well.

-Why?

-Because of some crazy vampire who wants revenge.

-Oh, no. This is bad.

-Ya think?!

-Okay, we'll figure something out, don't worry. Maybe we should tell Dad and…

-No! No telling Dad!

-Why? Why is it so bad if he knows?

-He'll be furious, Steph, because I turned without permission…

-So? He loved being a vampire! And he loves you! You're his kitten! He'll be happy for you!

-But what about turning it off, huh? He'll hate that and he'll try to get me to turn it back on!

-Maybe you should!

-No! Why am I stuck in this mess?

-You know, no offence, but you should just tell him. Tell him and deal with it. You're the one who turned. You got yourself stuck in this mess. No matter how many crazy vampires there are, this is still your fault!- Marissa gave her a pointed look. -No. No, you can't. You can't possibly think that…

-I don't think that, Steph, I know that.

-I didn't make you turn, Rissa!

-No, no you didn't, you just did everything that led me to the decision to become a vampire in order to just be able to turn off all my emotions! You think I turned, because I wanted to be more like Dad?! No! I turned, so I wouldn't have to feel all this! Okay?!

-Rissa, let's not…

-No, Steph, no. You can put it in any way you want. It's your fault I'm like this and nobody else's.
