This will be a very condensed version of Beauty and the Beast. Might make it into a longer story later, but for now, it's just condensed.
The last of the petals
On Earth, a ship came down.
It was a ship full of people. The Ark was what the ship was referred to.
The people within the Ark, while pretending to be good and loving people, were truthfully, judgmental and cruel.
A woman among the people on the Ark, Abby Griffin, had helped the chancellor of the Ark, Thelonius Jaha, have her husband, Jake Griffin, be executed, and as a result? She went up higher in power.
It was an understandable exchange for Abby. Kill her husband, so that she would gain power.
And as for her daughter, a young girl named Clarke, who was only eight at the time, was locked away in a prison known as a skybox.
Abby claimed that Clarke had known about Jake being a traitor to the Ark, which Jake had not been, but Abby made the story up that he was, and that Clarke had kept Jake's traitorous ways a secret, and because of this? Clarke was locked away.
Now, without a child "holding her down," and going up in power, Abby was next in line to be chancellor, after Thelonius Jaha's term was up.
Abby would make up any excuse any way, besides, after Clarke was born, she had decided to experiment on the child, without her husband's knowledge.
And it was because of all these experiments that Clarke was barely human any longer.
She was stronger than any eight-year-old should be, faster and more agile too, and had better eyesight and better hearing than any eight-year-old should.
Repulsed by the creature she made, Abby locked Clarke away, never visiting her, never granting her any love or affection.
Clarke cried for her mother throughout the years, but no visit was given to her.
By the time, the Ark set down onto the ground, Clarke had turned seventeen.
Nine years she had spent alone and isolated in the skybox, with only the visits of her friend, Wells and of Callie Cartwig, who loved Clarke the way a mother was supposed to love her daughter, kept her going.
And finally, Clarke was able to break out of the skybox.
The experiments had made her strong. Too strong. And she broke out. She broke out and she killed.
She was hungry. She couldn't help it. She drained several other inmates of their blood; Octavia Blake, Raven Reyes, John Murphy, Nathan Miller, Jasper Jordan, Atom Worth, Dax Summers. Just to name a few.
A guard who was the older brother of Octavia Blake, Bellamy Blake snapped and tried to shoot her, but she ran at him fast, and tore his head from his body, finding his blood disgusting and deciding not to taste his blood and threw his head away.
She learned later on from whispers she picked up from the Ark, when being near the Ark in the forest, that no one would miss Bellamy Blake.
Apparently, he was a pedophile and a bully and there were rumors that he had an incestuous relationship with his own sister, Octavia. It wouldn't have surprised Clarke at all.
She had smelled it on his blood. Pure evil.
Clarke then ran to the forest when hearing her mother call her a monster, incapable of deserving love.
Everyone had soulmates. And Clarke had many soulmate marks on her chest and back, yet Abby had made it clear that no one would ever love her. So, none of her mates could love her, Clarke knew this.
She ran to the woods.
After running many miles, she found a castle there.
The castle was surrounded by rose bushes. The roses were plentiful and budding with dozens and dozens of beautiful red roses.
She hesitantly went throughout the castle, hoping to find someone who would be willing to look past the blood on her face.
But there was no one here. Clarke found herself disappointed. But also, relieved.
She spent the next five years alone in that castle, with only the beautiful roses as her comfort.
When she ran into a few people in hazmat suits, they took her to a mountain, and she learned that they intended to harvest bone marrow and blood, so she pulled a lever that would open all the doors and windows to the mountain, when she learned that the very air killed the Mountain Men.
It wiped everyone in the mountain out, and much to Clarke's horror, that included the children she didn't know about.
She was a mass murderer now, and she knew it.
She fled back to the castle, disgusted with herself, traumatized.
And she stayed in the castle, ignoring all the stories about her-the stories from her mother and the Ark people of how an unlovable beast she was, stories from the tribes about how she saved all of the tribespeople from the Mountain Men and now was the "Commander of Death."
She would not be able to face the outside world.
No one could love a beast.
Not even her own soulmates.
She traced all of her soulmate marks on her chest and back, and remembered every single name.
But she knew her mates would never want her.
So, she stayed isolated.
Then three years later, when she was twenty-five, a man came to the castle.
Loud, big, stupid.
His name was Alexei.
And he earned Clarke's ire when plucked one of Clarke's beloved roses.
