can't believe we're almost at the end of the story; what a journey has it been

"Everything alright, son? You're looking a little pale," Charlie pointed out. Paul had to stop himself from snapping at him.

He was trying to play it cool, but Paul was freaking out on the inside. He had invited the Swans to dinner, and although Bella was distracted with the girls, Charlie's gaze was so intense; it was as if he could see right into his soul.

Was it too much to ask for his girlfriend's father not to remain so vigilant all the time?

"Everything's alright, Charlie, don't worry," Paul replied, trying to smile normally, but he knew he had failed when Maya looked at him.

"Daddy? You look pale," Maya said, and Paul threw his head back, stopping himself right in the nick of time before groaning.

"Do I really look pale?" Paul asked Bella, who seemed to be trying to hold back her laugh. "Really, Bella? Really?"

"Sorry, Paul, but seeing you so worked up is kinda funny," she said, smiling at him, and he forgot why he was feeling so nervous in the first place.

Taking her hand in his, he kissed it before smiling at her. "I don't mind that you're all laughing at me. I have you here, and that's all that matters."

Bella beamed at him, while Charlie tried to stop a smile from appearing—it was fine, Paul knew the sheriff was a softie at heart, especially when involving Bella or the girls. Maya and Giovanna were sitting very close to them, touching them at all times, reminding him of how much he loved these two.

Maya was the light of his life, and he had fallen in love with her the moment he laid eyes on her, and he knew he would be there for her and support her through her life. Paul never imagined he could easily fall in love with Giovanna, and see her as another daughter.

And looking at the woman sitting next to him, he couldn't imagine his life without her—and he didn't want to even think about it. Before he met Bella, his life was happy, but with Bella, Giovanna and Charlie in it, it reached levels he couldn't even imagine before. Even if it is just sitting together to have dinner, and in that moment, Paul's nerves vanished.

He knew exactly what he had to do, and he was going to do it now. Before he lost his courage once more.

Taking Bella's hand in his, he took a deep breath, and decided to just go with what his heart wanted.

"Bella," he said, making her turn to look at him, "I never imagined that my life could get better than it was, but on Halloween night last year, a tiny Elsa ran straight into my life and I never was happier…until I got to really meet you two."

He glanced at Maya and Giovanna, sitting together with big smiles on their faces, and at Charlie, who seemed amused at his speech, and turned back to Bella, and took a deep breath.

"I don't really remember how my life before you entered was, and I don't want to imagine it. I want your face to be the first one I see in the morning and the last one I see at night. I want everyday in our lives to be full of laughter and love, I want our daughters to grow as sisters, I want you…" Paul gulped before he stood up, took a little box from his pocket and kneeled. "Isabella Marie Swan, would you make me the happiest man on Earth, and marry me?"

Bella's eyes were watering and Paul started to panic for a second, thinking he had screwed up everything, but before he could react, Bella was throwing her arms around him and kissing him like she was starving for his mouth.

"Yes, yes, a thousand times, yes!" Bella practically yelled in his ear, and Paul wouldn't have it any other way.

"Congratulations you two," Charlie said, trying—and failing—to keep a smile from his face.

"We're going to be sisters!" Maya and Giovanna yelled before hugging each other, standing up and coming to hug their parents.

"I can't wait for our forever to start," Paul whispered in Bella's ear, before kissing her.
