You read the title, this is just an omake based on the hot spring OVA episode in the anime so it's super short. Don't worry, I'll post the next chapter tomorrow. Feel free to just skim this omake, since I only made this to show more differences between Hinata and Hajime, and give more info about Seiji.
"Ahhhhhhhhh..." Meld can't help but let out the long sigh as he feels the hot water soak into his muscles.
"Grandpa!" Moku called out as he swims to Meld.
Meld places his hand hand on the boy's head. "Hey kid, you enjoying the hot spring?"
Moku nods his head. "Yeah and it's super fun but...where's Mama?"
"Uhhh, Mama already took a bath earlier." As in while they were all having dinner. Hinata was willing to eat cold leftovers if it means avoiding...
"What a shame..."
"I wish she would just accept it."
"Aaahhh Master is as cunning as ever."
"Kind of a bummer."
Them...and Meld could not blame her for that. The harem members all glared each other, and Meld knew what was coming.
"Hinata and I spent months living in Oscar's hideout we're practically a married couple!" Except that Meld was there too and Hinata spent every night sleeping in an electrified cage to keep Akira out.
"Well she saved my entire family and everyone adores her, she's practically one of us." And that would also apply to Meld.
"Do not forget that master had alre- Mpf!" Meld quickly rushed to Tio and shoved his head into the water.
"Well I've known her longer for years I tell you, YEARS!"
"Now now, everyone this is a time to- Wait a minute." Meld realized something as he was trying to reduce the tension. "Years? Seiji, I remember Hinata mentioning that she met you in highschool. Even counting the time you've been here, that should only be around a year and a half at most."
"Oh, well.."
"How sad, to think you have to lie about your history." Akira taunted.
"Hey! It's not a lie, look I said I knew her for years I didn't say she knew me for years...The truth is I met Hinata before highschool. But I don't know if she remembers or not." The others remain silent as Seiji starts telling his story.
"It was when I was in junior highschool. During winter break me, Kaori, Shizuku, Kouki, and Ryutaro were having a fun night. Just us, no adults, eating a ton of grilled meat that our parents had given us money for. It was night, and we were about to take the bus home, the first bus we got into only had enough room for 4 more people. I volunteered to stay back and catch the next bus. The others suggested they should just wait for another bus but I insisted. Honestly I thought that was the best choice at the time."
Shu raises his hand. "Uh quick question, what's a bus?"
"Oh it's like the SUV but bigger and longer made for tons of people has way more seats and windows."
"Oh...ok."
This time Meld raised his hand. "Uh, Seiji what did you mean by "the best choice?"" He asked with a bit of concern.
"Um.." Seiji started to get nervous.
"If you don't want t-"
"No no it's fine, actually it's involved with the story." Seiji regained his composure. "Back in Japan, I was considered to be part of the popular group by everyone...except for me. I always thought I didn't belong there. My sister was the most popular girl, but the most popular guy was Kouki. I'm not cool like Shizuku, or as strong as Ryutaro, the only thing I had was...my sister's looks. But...all of that changed when I met her."
Seiji watches as a much emptier bus stops in front of him. He walks through the automatic doors just wanting this night to be over. Inside the bus Seiji wasn't surprised to an empty bus, he manged to guess that from the seeing the empty window from outside and maybe from his own luck.
Seiji quickly got into seat immideatly it was just time for a long wa-
"What the hell?"
"Ah!"
Seiji leaps out of the seat upon hearing the girl in the hoodie. He then noticed that the reason he didn't see her ealie was becauseshe wasactually shorter than the back of the bus seat.
"You seriously couldn't find any other seat in this entire bus?"
"Uh sorry sorry, didn't see you there." Seiji quickly rushes to the seat behind her as the bus started to move. "And again I'm really sorry."
"...You don't have a lot of guts do you?" The girl asked.
"Well I wouldn't say that."
"Wouldyou say you would always try to avoid confrontation?"
"Yeah..."
"Dude, how have you survived riding the bus this far?"
"Uh well I...usually ride with my friends."
"You sure you don't mean your babysitters?"
"Haha...ha...ha...you're...funny..."
"Ok dude, what the hell is wrong with you?"
"Nothing! Well I mean, sometimes a massive a combination of... anxietyandinsecurity I MEAN NOTHING!"
"Ok, you suck at talking about yourself and I personally don't want to to talk about you either so start talking about your "friends""
"Oh, well let's see there's my twin sister all the boys love her, and all the girls adore her best friend like a big sister and she's skilled at kendo all the girls also love her childhood friend and his best friend is like super bu-"
"Wait, you never reffered to them by their names? No wonder Hinata doesn't remember you."
"I was panicking. Anyway..."
"...and then there's me and...that's the gang."
"...That's it? You're not gonna say any compliments about yourself?"
"Well I mean...in the gang, there's the leader, the pretty one, the cool one, the strong one and then there's just me, I guess. I mean I know they think of me as one of their friends and all bit...sometimes, I just-"
"Ok that needs to stop."
"Oh, uh yeah, I went on too far about some personal stuff so just forg-"
"No, I meant comparing yourself like that." The girl corrected.
"...What?"
"You shouldn't keep comparing yourself to other people like that. In this world, there's a crap ton of people who are way better than you at something. I know I'm not as fast as Usain Bolt, or as nice as Mother Theresa, but you don't see me pissing my pants about it." Seiji can feel something blooming inside of him "So just stop it and remember...there's always worse losers than you...like a bus driver with only two passengers."
Suddenly the bus came to a screeching halt ."Andddddd that's my stop, jokes on him, now he's gonna have only one passenger." The girl gets out of her chair, dashing past a very angry bus driver and gets out. Seiji rushes to the window on the other side of the bus and sees the girl's face clearly this time.
"After I got home, I gushed to my sister about the most amazing girl I met. Imagine my joy, when I found out that she was my classmate. When I learned that she was into anime, I thought that was my ticket in."
They all smiled at their heartwarming story. They already knew that-
"Which is why, me and Hinata are perfect for each other!" Seiji declared with the utmost pride, which pretty much shattered the previously calm atmosphere.
"Is that so...?" Akira growled as brought out his rapier and started charging it with lightning.
"That's quite a bold claim Seiji..." Shu summoned his hammer and put on a both cute and terrifying smile.
"It seems the newcomer needs some discipline." Tio morphed his hands to dragon claws that start to have purple flames coming out of them.
"I think that's enough bath for today." Meld said as he hurriedly got himself and Moku out of the spring.
It might have sounded corny, but hey, Kaori fell for Hajime because he did a dogeza, so...yeah. There are other OVA's, but I don't think I'm gonna write an omake like this again. The OVA like when they met the liberators and the one where they swapped clothes might sound fun to write, but it's a definite no right now. But who knows, I might change my mind one day.
