Hello one and all to another chapter of Pokemon SVTA and today is the day, the official first Elite 4 battle with Ash as he goes against Poppy, but it seems that Tinkatuff is having issues adjusting to her new evolution, can she get over it during this battle? We waited a year to get to this point but now we're ready to go!
Cover Story 56 Road to Reunion 4: The Next Round (part 1)
Last time, May and Serena managed to defeat Brac and Ket that round. Meanwhile, the annoying twins Carol and Manuel managed to make their way through their matches and still gloat about them as May and Serena were about ready to beat the two of them but knew they had to wait. With their next match with Rosie and Dosie happening later, the two talk to each other about their journeys thus far. May notices Serena's crush on Ash and asks if she has a crush on Ash causing Serena to blush and try to deny it but eventually caves in and talks about Ash admirably.
Serena talks about how they met as kids and how much fun they had but it seems Ash didn't remember much of their experience at Pokemon Camp. This gets May's attention as Pokemon Camp she hears is in Kanto while Serena's from Kalos which Serena acknowledges and in truth, she was flown there by her mom as she knew someone who worked at the camp but what Serena didn't tell is the real reason she went. Serena breathed in and said that she was close to her father at a young age but unfortunately, he passed away from cancer when Serena was around 7 causing her to feel sad.
Grace (Serena's mother) wanted Serena to cheer up and went to Pokemon Camp to cheer her up saying she went here too and had a lot of fun. Serena wanted to go home but that was until she met Ash and that's when things changed for her and says without Ash, she would've never become the person she is now. May admires Serena for her story and her confidence in contests but before May could say anything else, Max comes in looking quite shocked towards something as May asks what happened.
Max revealed that Carol and Manuel's competitors dropped out of the competition allowing Carol and Manuel to head to the finals but that's not why he was shocked, apparently, he witnessed them tamper with the competitors Pokemon food causing the Pokemon to be poisoned. This new info caused May and Serena to be shocked towards their cheating and were about to tell no avail as Carol and Manuel come in and threaten them with silence only wanting to face Serena and May just so they can humiliate them. If they try to tell, they'll make sure May and Serena are blacklisted from their professions and they proceed to leave.
The fact they would do this shocked them but the fact they would want to blacklist them for no reason is even more shocking. A little while later, a referee comes in and revealed that Rosie and Dosie dropped for unknown reasons causing Serena and May to move on to the next round for tomorrow afternoon and the referee leaves. They have a sinking feeling it was Carol and Manuel but knowing the consequences, they don't bring it up but are still angry but more determined to stop Manuel and Carol's tyranny and vows to train.
The next day after some training, the two are prepared to face Carol and Manuel for their final battle and the uncertain road ahead.

Main Story
Today was Ash's big day, his first Elite 4 Battle and naturally, he was going to train. We see Ash and his Pokemon training as his friends and Koraidon watch on Ash's Pokemon move along to the sounds of clashing, bashing and training.
"Ash looks ready for this." Nemona says as Arven and Penny nods.
"We have been traveling for a long while dealing with your Gym Battles, the Titans and Team Star so it's natural that Ash be ready for the Elite 4." Penny says as Arven believed in Ash though he worried about something.
"I believe in Ash that's for sure but other than his Torterra and Pikachu, he's using more newer mons against the Elite Four, can he handle such a herculean task?" Arven asks as he watches on.
"I can sense greatness in him." a voice was heard, and it was Jacq surprising everyone.
"Mr. Jacq, what are you doing here!?" Nemona says as Jacq laughs.
"Geeta suggested it would be appropriate to cheer on our school's Champion and my homeroom student by taking a field trip here with our class to cheer on Ash later this afternoon. Plus, Oresville has a decently sized venue for a small town for what is just an equivalent to a small-town school's track and field stadium." Jacq says as they look in the distance to the stadium.
"I guess that's fair, it's a multi-time Champion against a Champion-ranked trainer so it's going to be big." Arven says as they watch Ash train without interuption.
"Torterra, use Trailblaze! Cyclizar, clash with Breaking Swipe!" Ash says as Torterra rushes at Cyclizar and Cyclizar jumps in the air with his tail glowing clashing with Torterra's head before jumping off.
"Pikachu use Quick Attack and Nymble, Trailblaze!" Ash says once more as Pikachu rushes at Nymble who both clash with one another, "Now Double Kick Nymble and Pikachu, Iron Tail!" Ash says as Nymble's legs glow and clash with Pikachu's metalized tail. Ash then focuses on Quaxwell and the newly evolved Tinkatuff who was having trouble carrying her hammer, but Ash didn't notice at first.
"Quaxwell, use Liquidation and Tinkatuff, use Rock Smash!" Ash says as water starts to form on Quaxwell and he rushes at Tinkatuff who's hammer glows but as she was about to run, she trips over falling to the ground as she angrily grabs her hammer shaking it causing Ash to go to her. "Tinkatuff calm down, it's alright!" Ash says as he, Pikachu and Quaxwell calm her down enough as the gang look on.
"It's understandable for Tinkatuff to act this way, her strategy before where she could freely throw her hammer was thrown right out of the window." Penny says as Nemona, Arven and Jacq nod.
"Nice pun by the way." Arven says.
"What pun?" Penny asks as we focus on Ash and Tinkatuff.
C'mon Rattler, what's wrong with you, aren't we a team? Tinkatuff thinks to herself as Ash felt bad.
It's as the others said, she's evolved, she can't exactly use her hammer in the normal way anymore without getting hurt. Tinkatuff and her hammer are like 2 souls working together, if one soul doesn't get along well, then both can't function but if there's a compromise, then things could work out. And well, I don't want to deny Tinkatuff an opportunity to fight Poppy's Tinkaton so I want to help Tinkatuff out. Ash thought to himself as he smiled and crouched down.
"It will be alright Tinkaton, we can work things out. I think we just need to balance the use of your previous battle style and update it for your evolution." Ash suggested as Tinkatink looked unsure, "And we'll help you through, I promise." Ash says as Tinkatuff tears up and nods.
We see Ash and Tinkatuff on one side of the battlefield with Pikachu on the otherside while the rest of his Pokemon and friends watch from the side and Arven cooks lunch.
"Alright Tinkatuff, we're going to teach you how to use your hammer in a new way. I want you to throw your moves at us and I'll determine what we need to improve alright?" Ash says as Tinkatuff nods as Ash smiles with confidence, "That's the spirit, throw everything you got!" Ash says as Tinkatuff's hammer glows and prepares to use Metal Claw.
"Pikachu, Iron Tail!" Ash says as Pikachu rushes in as Tinkatuff attempts to lunge with her hammer but due to its weight, Tinkatuff almost trips and stumbles a bit, Pikachu jumps in the air and Tinkatuff blocks the attack with the handle of her hammer. Using her right arm, it glows in preparation to use Rock Smash with her right arm, but Pikachu jumps back.
"Quick Attack!" Ash says as Pikachu rushes at Tinkatuff who endures the hit but stumbles back a bit. Tinkatuff wasn't determined to give up however and her body and hammer glows in a pink aura preparing to use Play Rough. She rushes in preparing to attack but just as she was about to lunge at Pikachu however, her hammer then falls to the ground and launches Tinkatuff in the air worrying Ash and Pikachu as Ash caught her.
"Are you ok Tinkatuff?" Ash asks as Tinkatuff turns away and tears up as Ash was concerned. "It's alright, it's not your fault." Ash reassured her as Ash thinks to himself about what to do.
Tinkatuff and her hammer are like two souls, right? She's reliant on her hammer for her attacks but also mixes in her own non-hammer attacks, I think I got it. Ash thought to himself as he places down Tinkatuff.
"Tinkatuff, your hammer is like another side of you right?" Ash asks as Tinkatuff nods as Ash smiles, "Well, considering your two souls in one, both have their needs and interests, their own personality, flaws and perfections. You have needs but your hammer has needs too especially as you grow up and maybe your hammer due to their changes can't keep up anymore and is telling you to slow down." Ash suggests as Tinkatuff looks to her hammer.
"Rather than trying to force your hammer to fight, work things out and balance it so you two can have your needs and wants fufilled without being forceful, balance the teamwork you two have when fighting. You handle lighter attacks with your fists while the hammer handles bigger attacks so you two can work together but also repect each other's boundaries." Ash suggested as Tinkatuff looks to her hammer and realized how much it's changed from being a small rattle to a big hammer. She then thinks back to yesterday when she encountered Tinky and saw her use her fists first before using her hammer.
Tinkatuff sets down her hammer and breathes in before launching a Rock Smash punch, dodged and weaved before attacking with Play Rough and then when it came time, she grabbed her hammer and used Metal Claw slamming her hammer to the ground as Ash watched on in impressed.
"That's the spirit Tinkatuff, let's practice a bit more and I think you'll be on fire today!" Ash says as the Pokemon cheer on and Tinkatuff smiles but secretly, she still feels worried about not synergizing with her hammer and worries she'll do good against Poppy. The gang watch on analyzing Ash's words.
"I don't think I quite get Ash's words, but I think I'm at least getting some sort of idea. To have Tinkatuff balance her fighting style by using lighter hits when her hammer gets 'tired' and heavier hits for when Tinkatuff gets 'tired' and that way, they can create a working relationship? Ash is certainly a strange one, but I like his spirit." Nemona says as Arven calls out to Ash.
"Ash, lunch is ready! You'll need plenty of energy for the event!" Arven says catching Ash's attention.
"Alright lunch, alright everyone, break time and then we'll be back to training and Tinkatuff, I promise you'll get your chance in battle, and I know you'll adapt to your evolution." Ash encouraged as Tinkatuff smiled and walked with Ash. Meanwhile Rika and Poppy watched on in the distance proud of Ash training as they walk away prepared for later today.
A little while later.
We see a crowd on two large stands from one side across excitedly waiting for the battle to come. We see Ash's class, Team Ash, Team Sarah (Sarah, Verde, Dean and Dux), Jacq and Clavell in the audience, Kieran and Carmine were there too with Kieran taking notes to improve as a trainer and photos for photography class while Carmine scoffed but felt interested in watching Ash fight. Rika was on the side as Geeta was on the field as referee. A disguised Team Rocket and the town of Oresville watched along with the mayor and the Steel Marauders were also there and there were TV crews recording the battle.
Ash was doing some last-minute stretches with Pikachu ready for the event and was wearing the poncho (see Chapter 31) as a cape for serious Champion business as he slapped his cheeks ready for the battle.
"This is it Pikachu, our first Paldean Elite Four, this shall be interesting, but I got to stay focused." Ash says as he brings out his Pokeballs and smiles as Pikachu climbs onto his left arm and Ash nods, "Let's do our best." Ash says as the Pokeballs nods and Ash walks towards the stage as the audience cheers on as Poppy does the same on the opposing side confident as Geeta walks towards the middle of the stage.
"You two are looking confident today." Geeta says to the two who smile.
"Thanks for being the referee today." Ash says as Geeta smiles confidently.
"It's not a problem, I just wanted to see how this first match turns out as I'm sure it will be explosive. Are you two readies?" Geeta asks as both Ash and Poppy nod as Geeta nods and brings out her microphone. "Good." Geeta says before clearing her throat.
"Ladies, gentleman and non-binary alike, welcome to the first match of Ash's Champion Bout with our World Champion and Naranja Academy's strongest Champion-ranked Trainer Ash Ketchum up against our Elite Four's Steel specialist Poppy Corteza!" Geeta says as the crowd cheers them on as Ash's gang watched on in excitement and Dean and his Squawkabilly was the most excited having Ash merchandise surprising Nemona.
"Where in the world did you get all that Ash merchandise?" Nemona asks Dean.
"There's a website that sells various merchandise of various Champions, I got a hat, pom-poms, face paint resembling Pikachu's cheeks, the action figures, fanfiction and comics." Dean says as Nemona sighed normally.
"Completely normal- wait fanfiction and comics!?" Nemona says surprised as they focus back on the match.
"This will b and only the challenger may switch out there Pokemon, Terastalization will be permitted at any time, do I make myself clear?" Geeta says to Ash and Poppy.
"Yes." both of them says as Geeta nods.
"Then let the battle begin!" Geeta says as the crowd cheers on as Poppy looked to Ash.
"Mister Ash, I'll let you send your Pokemon out first." Poppy says as Ash appreciated the offer.
"Thanks Poppy, alright Torterra let's go!" Ash says throwing his Pokeball sending out Torterra.
"Torterra!" Torterra says confidently as the crowd cheers on as Poppy grabs her Heavy Ball.
"Alright Orthy, let's go!" Poppy says throwing out Orthworm who stands high and mighty.
"Orthworm!" Orthworm says with a mighty call as the gang look on worried.
"I have confidence in Ash, but he should be careful of Orthworm in particular." Sarah says as Nemona got curious.
"What do you mean by that?" Nemona asks.
"Well, it's... actually better you witness it if Torterra uses a Ground move." Sarah says as they watch the battle.
Hmm, it's best I wait on Headlong Rush until I really need it, let's start simple and see where it goes. Ash thought to himself as he calls his first move, "Torterra, use Trailblaze! to find an opening!" Ash says as Torterra nods and covers himself in a green aura and runs around Orthworm as Orthy waited patiently.
"Use Bulldoze!" Poppy says as Orthworm's tail glows and slams it on the ground creating a wave that disrupts Torterra's run and almost causing him to trip with Poppy seeing an opportunity. "Now Iron Head!" Poppy says as Orthworm's head glows and rushes at Torterra as Ash was quick on his feet.
"Use Leaf Storm!" Ash says as Torterra's tree glows and launches a swirling storm of leaves towards Orthworm's face stunning him as Ash sees another chance, "Now Stone Edge!" Ash says as Torterra stomps on the ground releasing rock splinters from the ground hitting Orthworm and sending them back a bit.
"You alright Orthy?" Poppy asks as Orthworm nods shrugging off the hit and leaving the crowd impressed.
Good call, using Leaf Storm as a form of defense to push back Orthworm and then using Stone Edge to damage Orthworm back. Those two moves may have not been very effective but it's good enough to hold off Orthworm. Now he'll just have to get through their defenses. Rika thought to herself as the match continued.
"Alright Torterra, use Headlong Rush!" Ash says as Poppy grins with delight as Torterra rushes in.
"Brace yourself Orthy!" Poppy says as Orthworm nods as Torterra strikes Orthworm but rather than dealing damage, an energy flows through Orthworm healing their injuries and surprising Ash and Torterra.
"There's no way!?" Ash says as Poppy smirked.
"Now Orthy, use Body Press!" Poppy says as Orthworm's body glows a red hue and slams into Torterra sending them flying but they managed to land on their feet.
"You alright Torterra!?" Ash asks as Torterra nods.
"That's what I meant by being careful of that Orthworm, it has the ability Earth Eater which allows it to absorb Ground Moves for more health and energy. So, unless it has Sand Veil, don't try to use a Ground move on it." Sarah informs Nemona who gets it.
"And that Body Press must've did some damage, it's power is determined by the user's defenses so the stronger it is defensively, the more powerful Body Press gets." Clavell says to the gang as Ash looked on in surprise and is trying to come up with another plan.
So, Ground moves won't work against Orthworm, I could switch to Quaxwell but Orthworm's endurance is tough and Torterra can likely hold off Orthworm a bit. That metal thing though in the 2nd body segment, it looks like it's protecting that segment. Maybe I can slow down Orthworm's strength and find an opportunity to strike, let's try it! Ash thought to himself as he calls on his next move.
"Alright Torterra, let's slow down Orthworm's endurance and try to take it one step at a time. Use Trailblaze!" Ash says as Torterra nods and runs at Orthworm as Poppy stays on alert.
"Into the ground!" Poppy says as Orthworm dives down trying to avoid the attack as Torterra stays on alert, Orthworm pops out of the ground and into the air with his tail glowing.
"Behind you!" Ash says as Torterra pops around back.
"Iron Tail!" Poppy says as Orthworm nods and his tail glows prepared to land back down to strike Torterra.
"Use Stone Edge!" Ash says as Torterra slams their two front feet to the ground and slams them creating edgy rocks that work their way towards Orthworm and collides with Iron Tail, "Now use those stones to your advantage and use Trailblaze to hit Orthworm's 2nd segment!" Ash says as Torterra nods and similar to how he used Rock Climb in the past, Torterra hops onto the rocks and ran towards the stuck Orthworm and striking it's second segment sending Orthworm flying.
"Orthy!" Poppy says as Orthworm gets up prepared to fight once more as Torterra was ready to continue.
"Alright Torterra, Trailblaze!" Ash says as Torterra runs quickly towards Poppy as she had an idea.
"Curl up and face away from Ash!" Poppy yelled out as Orthworm nodded and curled up with him facing Poppy and his tail facing Torterra, "Now Iron Tail!" Poppy says as Orthworm nods and his tail glows trying to smack Torterra.
"Use Trailblaze to hop away from the attacks!" Ash says as Torterra hops left and right avoiding the attacks until Poppy had enough.
"Bulldoze!" Poppy says as Orthworm slams his tail to the ground creating a seismic wave that disrupts Torterra's movements as Poppy saw her chance, "Now unravel and use Iron Head!" Poppy says as Orthworm unravels and strikes the dazed Continent Pokemon onto it's back leaving him vulnerable.
"Torterra!" Ash says as Torterra tries to get off it's back as Poppy grins.
"Now Body Press Orthy!" Poppy says as Orthworm jumps in the air and glows a red aura. The gang watch on in panic.
If Torterra can't get up, then it's crushed by the Body Press. C'mon, now. Nemona thinks to herself as Ash had a plan quickly.
"Torterra, use Leaf Storm to launch yourself off the ground!" Ash says as Torterra nods and creates a storm of leaves from his back that he bounces off the ground and onto his feet avoiding Orthworm's attack which misses as Ash sees his chance.
"Oh no- Orthy, get out-" Poppy couldn't finish as Ash called his attack.
"Stone Edge!" Ash says as Torterra slams his feet to the ground and summons jagged stones from the ground which strike Orthworm sending him in the air as Ash follows up on this, "Now Trailblaze!" Ash says as Torterra rushes at the falling Orthworm and strikes him sending him towards his trainer and fainting as Geeta checks and nods.
"Orthworm is unable to battle, Torterra wins!" Geeta says as the crowd cheers on.
"Alright Ash!" Dean says cheering him on.
"Truly a struggle but he made it through." Kieran says as Carmine starts getting impressed by Ash's skills, but she scoffs.
It's just child's play... but at the same time, I can't help but admire Ash making it through even with not very effective moves and a super effective move that's cancelled out, but can he handle Poppy's 2 other Pokemon? Carmine thought to herself as she watches the match more. Poppy thanks Orthworm and returns him to his Heavy Ball as she grabs her Pokeball.
"Alright Corvy, come on out and fly high!" Poppy says throwing her Pokeball sending out Corviknight who flies in the sky.
"Corvi!" Corviknight says as Torterra readies himself.
"Alright Torterra, watch Corviknight's movements." Ash says as Torterra nods and Poppy calls on her attack.
"Alright Corvy, use Metal Claw!" Poppy says as Corviknight nods and her talons glow rushing at Torterra.
"Dodge it!" Ash says as Torterra nods and hops to the left as Corviknight flew by but Poppy grins.
"Now Air Slash!" Poppy says surprising Ash and Torterra as Corviknight launched a series of a blue energy slashes towards Torterra taking damage as he's pushed back by the slashes.
"Torterra!" Ash yelled out in worry as Poppy smirks.
"Now Drill Peck!" Poppy says as Corviknight nods and launches herself at Torterra with her beak spinning like a drill towards Torterra.
"Use Leaf Storm!" Ash says as Torterra launches a swirl of leaves towards Corviknight but due to the weakening of Leaf Storm, it doesn't bother Corviknight who pushes through attacks Torterra, taking the hit as he tries to stand up but falls to the ground knocked out.
"Torterra is unable to battle, Corviknight wins!" Geeta says as the crowd cheers on and Ash softly smiles.
"You were excellent and helped me out, get some rest Torterra." Ash says returning Torterra to his Pokeball as Ash smiled and looked to his Pokeballs and saw that Tinkatuff's was the most excited but worried Ash considering her issues synergizing with her hammer. "Are you sure Tinkatuff?" Ash asks as Tinkatuff's Pokeball nods as Ash softly sighs.
"Alright, Tinkatuff, let's smash the scene!" Ash says throwing the Pokeball showing Tinkatuff and surprising the crowd.
"He's sending out Tinkatuff right away!? I hope that training helped." Arven says in surprise.
"It seems Tinkatuff was too excited, hope it doesn't get the best of her." Nemona says in agreement as the battle continued.
"Alright Tinkatuff, remember to balance combat between you and your hammer. Provide each other some space and understanding alright?" Ash says as Tinkatuff nods as Poppy went next.
"Alright Corvy! Fly in and use Steel Wing and overwhelm her so she can't strike with her hammer!" Poppy says as Corviknight nods and her wings glow with a light grey hue and rushed towards the Hammer Pokemon as she prepared herself.
"Use Metal Claw!" Ash says as Tinkatuff nods but before she could move her hammer to attack, Corviknight flies in quickly and strikes causing Tinkatuff to use the middle of her hammer to defend against Corviknight's attacks being pushed back unable to synergize with her hammer as the gang noticed.
"Tinkatuff, she's not able to handle using her new hammer early. If this keeps going, she'll go down quicker before she can get the first hit." Nemona says as Tinkatuff is overwhelmed by Corviknight's attacks as she blocks the attacks with her handle. When Poppy sees an opportunity, she calls upon it.
"Corvy, use Rock Smash!" Poppy says as Corviknight's right foot glows an prepares to strike at Tinkatuff as Ash had an idea.
"Use your handle to block the attack!" Ash says as Tinkatuff nods and uses the handle of her hammer to block the hit as Corviknight grabs onto it with her talons trying to prevent Tinkatuff from using it. Ash smirked. "Now use the handle to pull yourself up in the air and charge yourself!" Ash says surprising Poppy as Tinkatuff's hands glow red and uses that momentum to get into the air.
"What the-" Poppy didn't finish as Tinkatuff smirked and prepared her attack.
"Rock Smash!" Ash says as Tinkatuff punches Corviknight sending her back as Tinkatuff prepared for another attack. "Now Rock Tomb!" Ash says as Tinkatuff nodded and formed and launched a large rock towards Corviknight who gains her balance back.
"Use Air Slash to break the rock!" Poppy says as Corviknight launches an aerial slash towards the rock breaking it but was surprised to see Tinkatuff running at Corviknight with her hammer which was glowing. Ash smirked and called out his next course of action.
"Use Rock Smash!" Ash says as Tinkatuff nods and swings her hammer to strike Corviknight hard staggering her much to the crowd's excitement.
"Great going Ash!" Nemona says.
"Ash sure is the G.O.G.O.A.T around here." Clavell says as the entire audience faints due to Clavell's cringe.
"That combo though sure was insane, right my boy." Jim the camera says to Arven.
"I agree dad... Dad!?" Arven says noticing the camera as Arven grabs Turo's beloved camera, "What are you doing here?" Arven says.
"Well... I got bored." Jim says honestly as Arven sighs.
"How did you get out of Koraidon's-" Arven didn't finish as he noticed Koraidon over to the sides cheering Ash on.
"He sent Koraidon out for Koraidon to gain some experience and watch the fight and judging by the fans, Koraidon seems like they've amassed a fanclub." Tim says as Arven sighs.
"Just try not to do anything reckless." Arven says.
"No promises my boy." Tim says as we get back to the battle. Corviknight gets up, ready for another round as Poppy wasn't giving in yet.
"In the air Corvy!" Poppy says as Corviknight nods and flies in the air as Ash and Tinkatuff pay attention to Corviknight, "Use Drill Peck!" Poppy says as Corviknight nods and flies towards Tinkatuff leaving both of them baffled.
"Jump away!" Ash says as Tinkatuff nods and jumps away as Poppy smirks and Corviknight slows down her flying as her beak lands to the ground.
"Now Drill Peck again!" Poppy says as Corvinknight spins her beak like a drill creating a dust storm that covered the field much to everyone's surprise towards Poppy's strategy.
"What the- watch yourself Tinkatuff!" Ash says as Tinkatuff nods trying to navigate through the dust storm.
"Multiple Steel Wings!" Poppy says as Corviknight rushes in and strikes Tinkatuff's blind spots as the crowd watches on in surprise even Carmine who looked worried much to her own surprise.
The Steel type brat using Drill Peck as a way to create a dust storm? I don't think even Ash thinks of this type of reckless idea. Just get over it and win Ash... Carmine thought to herself until she realizes she's sympathizing for Ash. Damn it, I hate you Champion, why make me think of you and your concerns. I'll battle you to show it later. Carmine thought angrily as the battle raged on. With Tinkatuff unable to land her hits in, she was struggling until Ash thought of something.
"Tinkatuff! Create a Rock Tomb!" Ash says as Tinkatuff nods and creates a ball of energy that forms into a rock causing Poppy to focus.
"Back away!" Poppy says as Corviknight flies back assuming Tinkatuff knows where Corviknight was at during that storm, Ash smirks.
"Throw it in the air!" Ash says as Tinkatuff nods and throws the rock in the air as Poppy and Corviknight focuses.
"Air Slash!" Poppy says as Corviknight nods and launches an aerial energy slash towards the rock flapping her wings and clearing it in the process as Tinkatuff rushes in surprising both Poppy and Corviknight as Tinkatuff grins.
"Rock Smash!" Ash says as Tinkatuff uses her hammer to smack Corviknight hard, but she stays standing, this impresses the crowd as they cheer. Geeta looks on impressed with both trainer's respective strategies.
Both are clever bachche (Kid or children in Hindi) for their ages. Poppy creating a dust storm with Drill Peck and Ash using Rock Tomb as a distraction to clear away the pseudo sandstorm. This should be interesting. Geeta thought to herself.
Tinkatuff was breathing heavily as Ash noticed and got out his Pokeball.
"Tinkatuff, your eager to take on Poppy's Tinkaton right?" Ash says as Tinkatuff nods as Ash smiles, "Then get some rest, you'll need it in a bit." Ash says as Tinkatuff nods returning to Ash's Pokeball leaving Team Ash curious as to what he'll send out next. Ash nods to himself and grabs another Pokeball.
"Alright Quaxwell, come on out!" Ash says as he throws out Quaxwell who was ready for battle and began stepping side to side as the gang watched on about Ash's 3rd and final choice in Pokemon.
"He's not using Pikachu? That seems like an easy win if he uses Pikachu." Nemona says as Clavell picked up on why.
"Well, think of it this way, since Pikachu is the ace of a Champion, one of the world no less and so if you put it that way with some exceptions, they can roll through battles easily. So, while theoretically, Ash could use Pikachu here, I can tell by their expressions they want the newer Pokemon and those rarely used to have a chance in battle and not rush things through." Clavell says as we focus on the battle with Quaxwell stretching and hopping side to side.
"Quaxwell huh, alright then, use Drill Peck Corvy!" Poppy says as Corviknight rushes at Quaxwell as Ash hones in on the oncoming Raven Pokemon.
"Use Rapid Spin and build up a dust storm!" Ash says as Quaxwell spins fast like a tornado building up the sand from the ground as Poppy grins knowingly.
"Now stop and use Air Slash!" Poppy says as Corviknight launches an Air Slash towards the dust clowd seemingly hitting him, but Poppy notices something out of the blue and in the air, Quaxwell in the air behind Corviknight as Ash grins.
"Alright Liquidation!" Ash says as Quaxwell nods and his legs started to form water as he prepares to kick Corviknight.
"Block with Steel Wing!" Poppy says as Corviknight nods and blocks the attack with Steel Wing clashing with one another. Rika smirks knowingly having witnessed the event.
Rapid Spin is an attacking move that increases the speed of the user and removes Hazards. Using Rapid Spin like that to create a dust storm and using that boosted speed to get out of there and make it to Corviknight's level is impressive to say the least. Rika says as the battle continues.
"Continuous Liquidations!" Ash says as Quaxwell nods and continuously kicks Corviknight who blocks the attack with her Steel Wing attack as Ash sees an opportunity. "Jump off!" Ash says as Quaxwell nods and jumps off.
"Corvy, use Air Slash!" Poppy says as Corviknight nods and creates an aerial slash but before she could launch it, Ash called on his next attack quickly.
"Left yourself open! Aqua Jet!" Ash says as Quaxwell nods and covers himself in a watery veil launching himself towards Corviknight.
"Use Rock Smash!" Poppy says as Corviknight's right talon glows and as Quaxwell strikes Corviknight, she swiftly kicks Quaxwell as both fall to the ground damaged but they both get back up though both damaged from their respective attacks. "I must say Mister Ash, you're very strong but I'm not giving up that easily. Corvy, flap your wings to create a strong current!" Poppy says as Corvy nods flapping her wings quickly creating a slight wind.
"Rush through and use Low Sweep!" Ash says as Quaxwell nods and tries to rush through the wind which seemingly works however, Corviknight's wings glow and starts to create stronger winds.
Corviknight learned Tailwind!? Team Ash thought. Due to the strong winds, Quaxwell is pushed back, and Poppy sees an opportunity of her own to strike back.
"Use Drill Peck!" Poppy says as Corviknight's beak glows and spins, she flies towards the staggered Quaxwell and strikes him with her beak staggering him again as Poppy smirks.
"Quaxwell!" Ash yells out.
"Steel Wing multiple times!" Poppy says as Corviknight strikes at Quaxwell multiple times with her metallic wings pushing back Quaxwell striking him where it most hurts worrying Ash but Quaxwell braves through as water started to form around Quaxwell activating Torrent as Ash noticed as Quaxwell's body became like a puppet on a string or his body became smoother and more freeflowing (A/N: I'm not sure how to describe Quaxwell right now).
"Rapid Spin!" Ash says as Quaxwell spins pushing away a Steel Wing and staggering Corviknight, "Now Low Sweep!" Ash says as Quaxwell kicks Corviknight's stomach sending her back as Quaxwell was in Torrent and ready for battle which didn't go unnoticed either.
"Quaxwell's in Torrent mode and is in control, this is his first time using it without losing control of himself, right?" Nemona says as Arven nods.
"I believe so. Last time, he got it in control but since this is his first time being in control of himself, he has a lot to learn." Arven says as Dean got curious.
"Torrent mode?" Dean asked as Penny clears her throat dramatically.
"Tragic past, Anime rage moment, Anime transformation, increased powers but loss of control, reassurance, back to normal, training, development, practice. All of these elements make up Quaxwell's Torrent mode." Penny says dramatically as Jacq was counting.
"That wasn't 7 syllables." Jacq says.
"I wasn't making a haiku." Penny says comedically as we get back to the battle. Quaxwell was focused both on the battle and mentally and was intact without succumbing to anger.
"Your there Quaxwell?" Ash says as Quaxwell nods to Ash's words giving a smirk as Ash smiles, "Alright, use Liquidation!" Ash says as Quaxwell nods and rushes in with quick speed as water flows throughout Quaxwell as Corviknight paid attention to what Quaxwell was going to do.
"Stay focused, to your left! Steel Wing!" Poppy says as Quaxwell jumped to Corviknight's left as the Raven Pokemon prepared to block but unexpectedly, Quaxwell at a blink of an eye appeared on Corvy's right and Quaxwell used a Liquidation kick striking at Corviknight's defenseless side and staggered her. "What the-" Poppy said shocked as Ash smirked.
"Aqua Jet!" Ash says as Quaxwell rushes at Corviknight striking her again while staggered causing Poppy to get serious.
"Tailwind!" Poppy says as Corviknight flapped her wings quickly creating a fast whirlwind that pushes Quaxwell back even with his increased speed as he staggers and falls to the ground. "In the air!" Poppy says as Corviknight flies up in the air away from Quaxwell who gets back up.
"Aqua Jet!" Ash says as Quaxwell squats down and launches himself in the air in a watery veil catching up to Corviknight by surprise, "Liquidation!" Ash says as Quaxwell strikes at Corviknight who blocks the attack with her wings.
"Drill Peck!" Poppy says as Corviknight uses her beak to strike at Quaxwell making him staggered, "Now to the ground!" Poppy says as Corviknight nods and using her Drill Peck in combination with flight, she soars down intent on defeating Quaxwell as Ash had one last trick up his sleeve.
"Use Aqua Jet to escape!" Ash says as Quaxwell nods and through enough strength and speed, he manages to push away and grab ahold of Corviknight in his Aqua Jet surprising even Ash as both Pokemon head towards the ground creating a huge puff of smoke. Everyone watches anticipating what might happen next as the dust clears showing that both Quaxwell and Corviknight are knocked out as Geeta confirms.
"Both Corviknight and Quaxwell are unable to battle! This ends in a draw!" Geeta says as the crowd were surprised but cheered on as both trainers smile and walk towards their respective Pokemon.
"Quaxwell, you were excellent, and you kept yourself under control under Torrent, that's also amazing. We'll work hard to master Torrent even more, so get some rest." Ash says as Quaxwell smiles as he's returned to his Pokeball.
"Thank you Corvy, your one stwong Pokemon and a true knight, thank you so much and get some rest." Poppy says returning Corvy to her Pokeball as both trainers went back to their spot as Rika watched on.
Now that's respect. Acknowledging one's Pokemon after a strong battle. That's what I like to hear, now it comes down to the match between evolution and pre-evolution. Rika thought to herself as Ash grabs Tinkatuff's Pokeball and looks to her.
I hope you and your hammer synergize this round, this will be it. Do your best, I know you can. Ash thinks to himself as he sends out Tinkatuff who was ready for battle as Poppy sends out Tinkaton. This gets Tinkatuff riled up and ready for a fight.
"Tink, Tink, Tinkatuff! (I'm ready for you Tinky, I'll show you how much I've grown within one day!)" Tinkatuff says as Tinkaton smiles.
"Tinka, Tink, Tink, Tinkaton! (Of course! I expect you to be at your full strength, so get ready!)" Tinkaton says encouragingly as Ash and Poppy look to each other this final round and Geeta looks to them both.
"Are you two ready?" Geeta says as both nods, "Then you may begin!" Geeta says as both trainers stare at each other.
"Alright Tinkaton, use Play Rough!" Poppy says as Tinkaton nods and rushes in with pink aura.
"You too Tinkatink, Play Rough!" Ash says as Tinkatuff nods and rushes in too with Pokemon clashing their hammers together, both clash a couple times until Poppy sees her own chance.
"Brick Break, quickly." Poppy says as Tinkaton nods and in a swift movement, she throws her hammer slightly and her right arm glows, karate chopping Tinkatuff staggering her as Tinkaton hops back and grabs her hammer before it falls to the ground.
"Tinkatink!" Ash says as Poppy smirks.
"Now Gigaton Hammer!" Poppy says as Tinkaton nods and jumps in the air with her hammer glowing and smacks Tinkatuff but she blocks the attack with her hammer with all of her strength impressing Ash.
"Use all your strength to push away Tinkaton!" Ash says as Tinkatuff crouches and pushes herself up with all her might pushing away Tinkaton as Ash follows up on that, "Now Rock Tomb!" Ash says as Tinkatink nods quickly throwing a rock towards the falling Tinkaton damaging her as she's sent to the ground. Tinkaton gets up and can tell how determined Tinkatuff is as she grins.
"I can tell, your Tinkatuff is full of vigor and energy. Alright, let's kick it up a notch right Tinky!?" Poppy says as Tinkaton grins as Poppy grabs her Tera Orb as Ash smiles and does the same.
"I guess we're doing this, ready Tinkatuff?" Ash says as Tinkatuff nods and smirks.
"Terastalize!" both Ash and Poppy say as they throw their Tera Orbs towards their respective Pokemon who Terastalize into Steel types both ready for the final showdown.
"It all comes down to this, who will come out on top?" Kieran says as the battle continues.
"Rock Tomb!/Smack Down!" both Ash and Poppy say as both Pokemon launch their respective rocks towards each other, colliding and creating a puff of smoke. "Now rush in with Rock Smash!" Ash says as Tinkatuff nod and rushes in as Poppy does the same.
"Use Play Rough!" Poppy says as Tinkaton nods and rushes in clashing with Tinkatuff's hammer once more, both push each other back and clash multiple times hoping for an opening as Ash calls out his next attack.
"Jump back!" Ash says as Tinkatuff nods and quickly jumps back, "Now Rock Tomb!" Ash says as Tinkatuff quickly throws a large rock towards Tinkaton.
"Catch it!" Poppy said desperately as Tinkaton did, but Ash smirked.
"Now Rock Smash!" Ash says as Tinkatuff nods and her hammer glows as she thinks to herself.
C'mon Rattler, we're in this together, one in the same soul. So, let's strike together! Tinkatuff thought to herself as she swings her hammer and strikes at Tinkaton sending Tinkaton back with her body glowing blue signaling the drop of defense due to Rock Smash, but she wasn't going down that easily.
"Tinky, use multiple Smack Downs in the air!" Poppy says as Tinky nods and creates multiple rocks that she throws in the air with enough strength to come down like meteors leaving no time for Tinkatuff to dodge as she's struck by the rocks. "Now Gigaton Hammer!" Poppy says as Tinkaton picks up her hammer and her Tera hat glows rushing at Tinkatuff and sending them flying in the air with a powerful thrust landing on the ground after being dealt serious damage. The gang watch on in anticipation and worry.
"Those Smack Downs, it was like a rain shower of rocks. That Tinkaton must have practice when it comes to throwing those rocks quickly and efficiently. I just hope Tinkatuff can keep up." Nemona says as Tinkatuff gets up, seriously injured but not giving up as Ash notices her strong spirit.
"You can do it Tinkatuff, I've seen you overcome the biggest obstacles. From those bullies before I caught you to the Titan Bombirdier. I know your strong enough to overcome any obstacle and I know you can overcome Tinkaton. Believe in yourself, in your hammer and I know we'll overcome this mountain." Ash says to Tinkatuff as she looked to her hammer. She remembered when she first hatched as a Tinkatink, she was alone in the world. She wandered around collecting scrap until she formed Rattler and became her best friend.
They fought tough battles together, Tinkatink always repaired her beloved friend after a major battle. It's then she met Ash who helped her deal with the bullies as well as how to use her hammer and no matter how many times she and Rattler had an argument or got separated, she'll always care for her beloved friend. Tinkatuff nodded ready for the battle once more as she nodded towards Ash who grinned.
"Alright, Tinkatuff, create a large Rock Tomb towards Tinkaton!" Ash says as Tinkatuff nodded and used her hand to create a white energy that forms into a large rock, large enough so that Tinkaton wasn't able to catch it and threw it at her as Tinkaton braced it.
"Use Play Rough and send it back!" Poppy says as Tinkaton nods and uses her hammer to hit the rock flying towards Tinkatuff who was ready.
"You do the same with a harder Play Rough!" Ash says as Tinkatuff nodded and used her hammer to send it right back at Tinkaton who caught it.
"Gotcha!" Poppy says.
"Run towards her and charge yourself with your fists!" Ash says as Tinkatuff nodded and rushed Tinkaton without her hammer by surprise of the opponents.
"What the-" Poppy didn't finish.
"Rock Smash!" Ash says as Tinkatuff nodded and punched through the rocks and striked Tinkaton, "Multiple times." Ash says as Tinkatuff striked at Tinkaton with her fist's multiple times in quick succession before jumping back and grabbing her hammer for a powerful Rock Smash jumping in the air, but Tinkaton recovers.
"Block it!" Poppy says as Tinkaton blocks the attack with her hammer handle, "Now push her back and use Brick Break!" Poppy says as Tinkaton nods and pushes her back hard with her hammer sending her flying and separating her from her hammer as Tinkaton jumps in the air with her fist glowing.
"Block it with your hands!" Ash says as Tinkatuff nodded blocking the attack as Ash followed up on that, "Now Rock Tomb!" Ash says as Tinkatuff nodded and created a white energy.
"Jump away!" Poppy says as Tinkaton nods but Ash smirks.
"Sike, Metal Claw!" Ash says as Tinkatuff's Tera hat glows and her arm glows as she strikes Tinkaton sending her back as Ash sees that Tinkaton is worn down. "Now for multiple Rock Tombs!" Ash says as Tinkatuff nodded and threw multiple rocks towards Tinkaton's direction as Poppy wasn't giving up.
"Brick Break!" Poppy says as Tinkaton uses her karate chops to break multiple rocks unbeknownst to her that Tinkatuff was running towards Tinkaton with her hammer glowing a red aura. Upon clearing the rocks, Tinkaton noticed the determined Tinkatuff running towards her as Poppy panicked.
"Now for a powerful Rock Smash!" Ash says as Poppy followed up on this.
"Gigaton Hammer!" Poppy says as Tinkaton nods and grabs her hammer, and her Tera hat glows as both attacks clash and a puff of smoke appears covering the field as everyone watched in anticipation towards whose coming out on top. The smoke clears to see both Pokemon breathing heavily and Tinkatuff staggers a bit almost falling but grabs on to her hammer still having strength left while Tinkaton falls to the ground fainted as Geeta checks and nods.
"Tinkaton is unable to battle, Tinkatuff wins, and the winner of the first Champion Bout goes to the challenger Ash Ketchum!" Geeta says as the crowd cheers on excitedly as Kieran cheers on his hero, Carmine actually looked impressed but still kept a tsundere appearance, Team Ash and Team Sarah cheer on their friend while Jacq and Clavell admire the strength and spirit of their student. Rika smiles too for the both of them.
That's one big step Ash, 3 to go, can you handle what's coming at you? Either way, time to look after Poppy. Rika says as Poppy softly smiles trying to hold her emotions in check as Ash and Poppy go to their Pokemon.
"You were amazing Tinkatuff, I knew you could make it through and come out on top!" Ash says as Tinkatuff smiled brightly as Poppy and Tinkaton walk over to Ash and Tinkatuff along with Rika and Geeta.
"Congwadulations Ash, you overcame your first obstacle." Poppy said as Ash smiled but Poppy looked kind of sad, "Even if I did lose." Poppy said tearing up.
"It was a fun battle, losing isn't easy, I've experienced that for sure but it's not something to cry over. There are many hills to go over but never give up especially after a battle, win or lose." Ash says as Poppy cheers up. Geeta brings out a special large golden ring that looked like it could fit 4 pieces in there alongside some sort of gray badge.
"Master Ash, you have successfully defeated Poppy of the Elite 4 and by that honor, I present to your first Elite Badge and your badge ring. Congratulations." Geeta says as Ash marvels at it.
"Alright, I just got my Elite Badge!" Ash says as he presents it in the air.
"Pi Pika Pi!" Pikachu says.
"Tinka!" Tinkatuff says excitedly.
"Torterra!" Torterra says coming out of his Pokeball.
"Quax Quax!" Quaxwell says also out of his ball as Geeta smiled.
"I can see your strength throughout that battle Yoddha (Warrior or fighter). You're aiming to fight me but what if I threw in an extra reward." Geeta says getting Ash's attention.
"What type of reward?" Ash says as Geeta smiles.
"If you manage to defeat me, I'll give you a Top Champion ranking." Geeta says getting Ash's full attention, "Caught your eye eh, indeed, there are usually one Top Champion in this Region but, I might change it to include multiple. Those who display their strength, show everyone who you're made of and have the willpower to guide and lead. That's what I see in you so why not have another Top Champion if you win against me. Does that sound good enough of a reward, Mr. World Champion." Geeta says as Ash smirks.
"Of course!" Ash says as Poppy grabs his shirt, "What's up Poppy?" Ash asks.
"Well... I may have lost but I hope you battle me again one day like maybe when I become student next year at Naranja." Poppy says shyly and blushing as Ash smiles.
"You got yourself a deal though we can battle at anytime." Ash says as Poppy smiles and Tinky shakes Tinkatuff hand out of respect. Rika smiles.
"I see you made yourself a new friend and rival Poppy." Rika says as she happily hugs Poppy, "Aww, aren't you just the sweetest thing!" Rika says as Poppy got embarrassed.
"Mom!" Poppy says as Rika chuckled towards Poppy's shyness as Rika gets up and turns to Ash.
"So, Ash, you think your strong enough with your new Pokemon to face me?" Rika teased as Ash grins.
"Yes, but at the same time, I don't want to be overconfident, so I'll wait." Ash says as Rika smiles.
"I figured but waiting is admirable." Rika didn't finish as Team Ash and Clavell walks going to Ash happily.
"Congratulations Ash and Tinkatuff!" Nemona and Penny says happily.
"We're definitely celebrating with a big dinner of mine." Arven says as Clavell and Geeta step in.
"Allow us to assist, I feel we're going to have a big dinner for everyone in the crowd, I'll even show you our head chef's recipes if you help." Geeta says as Arven got excited as Rika smiles and turns back to Ash.
"If you're waiting on me, then I recommend you face Larry of Medali City, you'll find him very intriguing and so will you Nemona." Rika said mysteriously getting Nemona's attention as if Rika was hinting towards something. "Well, we should set up a celebration, want to help me Poppy, Ash." Rika says as both nod and everyone enjoys the day happily.
Meanwhile in Area Zero.
We see Turo enjoying the match between Ash and Poppy as he sees Arven enjoying it too much to Turo's happiness.
"Oh Arven, I'm happy you've made such wonderful friends. Dang, you're making your old man cry." Turo says as Iron Boulder (the mechanical Terrakion) walks in and Turo's face turned into a more serious frown. "You're supposed to knock when you come in." Turo says as Iron Boulder nods.
"My apologies sir, but my radar detects something unknown and full of Tera energy near Oresville at Tera Caverns." Iron Boulder said with a Brooklyn accent catching Turo's attention.
"Something full of Tera energy?" Turo says.
"Yes sir, could this be related to your research?" Iron Boulder asks as Turo was unsure.
"I'm not sure, I want you to investigate and if you see Arven and his friends, do not engage or you'll be torn to shreds." Turo threatened as Iron Boulder nodded and walked away as Turo looked at his Violet book. "Just what are you hiding Tera Caverns?" Turo says.

Wow, we finally reached our first battle. I don't have anything else to say other than thank you for making it thus far. In the next chapter, Team Ash team up with Dean to explore the Tera Caverns in order for him to investigate his next sight on his list and are joined by Petunia, an old friend of Sada and Turo's who was apart of their group as well as a disguised Carmine who wants to follow them and see what Team Ash are like. What will they find down there, will Team Ash's friendship with Carmine change and why does Petunia have a grudge against Turo? Find out in the next episode.
