SHOCK AT THE DOCK!
Double Murder Leaves Investigators with Burning Questions
Early yesterday morning, workers at the docks discovered a gruesome scene. The bodies of two adult males were discovered in the back of Horizon Seeker Shipping's warehouse. One has been identified as Anton Voso, second child of the Voso trade family. The other has not been identified but is believed to be from Zaun.
Workers began to suspect something was amiss when they entered the warehouse and smelled smoke, setting off a precautionary search that lead to the discovery of the bodies and the source of the smell. The bodies of the victims were covered in burns, one with his coat still smoldering. The surrounding area was also burned, with scorch marks on the ground, wall, and shipping crates. Investigators suspect foul play as the nature of the burns are far too precise to have been caused by an accidental chemical fire and are believed instead to be the work of a chemical weapon.
We here at the Piltovan Inquirer would like to remind that we always strive to provide out valued readers with fantastic details, no matter how gruesome the subject matter. Readers that are faint of heart are advised to skip the next paragraph.
To say the fatal injury that Anton received was a simple burn would be a grave underestimation of the excessive force used to kill him. As outlandish as it sounds, we here believe the murderer used a modified industrial laser to kill the victims. A clean line was burned deeply into the bodies, going so far as to sever Anton's arm even as he had raised his pistol to defend himself, and still have enough power to burn into the metal wall behind him. The other man met his grim end in a similar manner, with the laser trail starting in his chest and moving up to bisect his head. Horrors such as this could never be considered an accident, but must have been committed by a heartless monster.
Currently, Zaunite foul play is suspected in these deaths, as no weapon capable of creating such wounds are sold to the public in Piltover. Weapons of such a nature have been reported in Zaun, however the unregulated weapons market in the undercity is expected to slow investigation, as is the lack of cooperative law enforcement. The Wardens hope that further investigation of the crime scene will produce other leads. As such, the area around Horizon Seeker Shipping's warehouse has been closed to traffic.
The motivation for this crime is still unclear. Could these two men have run afoul of one of Zaun's many gangs? Have tensions between the Voso family and one of their rivals reached a boiling point? Is somebody sending a message by killing someone from both cities? Is this random violence? Or are those burns on the walls meant to mark the return of a notorious Zaunite known for using such a weapon? If you know anything about this case, please report to the Piltovan Inquirer.

Due to the danger this unknown assailant poses, the public is advised not to approach or engage this individual but report to the Wardens immediately.
Gas lights flickered, casting their dull glow through Gray covered glass. Not much of their light entered the small room from its lone window but it was enough for the man sitting below it to be able to read. His lips curled into a smirk and he let out a single amused huff.
"How was it, boss?" a man standing on the far side of the room asked.
"Entertaining," replied the man by the window as he folded the paper shut.
He dropped the paper onto his desk and pulled out a cigar from its draw.
"But they got a few details wrong."
He flicked his thumb up and held to the cigar's end. A flame sprung from his fingertip.
Greetings Summoners,
Wow, it's been two years since I first completed Project N: Unexpected Results and now I am pleased to announce that I will be working on a sequel. I would like to take a moment to acknowledge that a lot has changed for the lore of Zaun since I finished writing, with, both with Convergence and Riot resetting ALL the lore. For this piece, since it is a sequel to something written with the new "old lore," I will be continuing in that version of the setting. I may incorporate things from the new Arcane-centric lore and Convergence but I would like to keep with the continuity that had been established. I also hope to build upon what was and introduce new characters and places in Zaun as well as bring in some other champions from the city. I hope that this can be an even bigger story than Unexpected Results! I want to thank everyone who supported Viktor and Ren through the first piece and hope that you will continue to enjoy supporting them on their new endeavors.
Best of luck on the Rift,
- Gwoo
