Part 2
Danny wasn't sure what to expect when he came face to face with the Collector
He wasn't sure how he was even going to beat someone who could move a moon with the flick of a finger
When Danny saw him in the square he seemed like just a more powerful version of Youngblood
A lot more powerful
"I don't get it King" The Collector said with a confused on his face "why do you want to hang out with these teeny little spiders"
"Because we're his family" Eda said transforming into her harpy form which yeah was pretty cool to see
"And spiders are awesome" his girlfriend added "especially the teeny little ones"
Danny wasn't sure about that but hey agree to disagree
"Collector can't you see that you're hurting people" King pleaded
"So" the Collector asked but unlike with Youngblood or most of his enemies there wasn't any maliciousness or sadism nothing really evil just plain confusion "toys break all the time you just fix them"
To demonstrate his point the Collector magiced up a doll took the head off and than put it back on
"Do you not know what death is" Luz asked lowering her staff
"What's that some kind of game" the Collector asked before snapping his fingers "oh well we're going to play my games"
The Collectors games were a lot less deadly than Luz had been expecting
Oh they were still pretty deadly just less than she was expecting
Pac-Man where she nearly got eaten if it wasn't for Stringbean turning into a scorpion and stinging the Collector on the tounge
Best Palisman ever
Giant jenga where everyone nearly got crushed
And marbles which were the least deadly and the most nauseating
Especially for poor King
"Ugh I think I threw up twelve times" King queasily said looking green around the gills
'Do Titans have gills' Luz wondered not knowing a lot about her furry little buddy/little brothers anatomy
"Wanna make it a lucky 13" Eda asked playfully tossing him up and down much to Kings happy protests Luz smiled taking in the nice moment before the Collector put them through another crazy game
Instead Luz heard the Collector crying behind a giant block with Danny's help she got to her feet and began to walk over
"Luz" Eda asked understandably worried the Collector was way out of Luzs league
But maybe the way to stop the Collector wasn't to fight him
Maybe all he needed was a friend
"Eda if anyone can do it it's Luz" King told his mother figure Luz walked over kneeling in front of the star child
"Collector you know this can't last forever do you" Luz asked gently
"Why afraid you'll lose" the Collector asked with a smirk
When Luz didn't answer Collector looked away "it's not fair all I wanted was one friend that didn't lie to me King lied to me Belos lied to
"Who did"
"The Archivists my siblings they told me let's play a game let's play hide and seek you go down there and see if the titans want to play with you" The Collector explained a strained smile on his face and rising anger
Waving a hand a light show made out of stars the collector playing with cute little baby titans on a planet with four continents how one by one the Titan race were taken away one by one until the last one Kings dad trapped the Collector in the void between worlds
"But I showed them all even when those trapper jerks started acting weird even when Belos lied to me look I found the last Titan and he's my friend and my dumb jerky siblings I learned all their spells despite them saying I was 'too young' and I didn't need the draining spell"
"What do you mean didn't need it" Luz asked
"They said I was too young that 'the collected drained magic of the spiders' wasn't a toy and I didn't need to 'rejuvenate my youth' whatever that stuff means I think they were just making up dumb excuses" the Collector answered
Well that was a deeply concerning bit of information about the Collectors species
Using the draining spell to drain the magic of an entire planets population to keep themselves young
And the Collector never being taught was death was didn't understand how dangerous it was giving that information to Belos
After all why bother explaining death to an immortal
"I know it's all pretend I'll keep pretending for as long as I WANT" the Collector yelled a wave of energy passing over Luz
"But that's not what you want is it" Luz asked
The Collector looked away wiping away a tear "what would you know"
"We know what it's like to be seen as outcasts" Eda spoke up
"And alone" King said looking down
"To have powers you don't understand" Danny said
"We know what it's like to be alone but we found each other we became friends do us to show you how" Luz asked pulling out her stack of memory photos her memories of the isles
The Collector sniffled "King already told me about your adventures"
"Some stories are better shown than told" Luz said patting King between the horns getting him to smile "no offense hermano"
"None taken" King replied happily
Luz looked to the Collector who was looking curious
All this time Luz had thought of the Collector as a enemy
An enemy who was ultra powerful and could move a moon with the flick of a finger
But the Collector was just a kid a really lonely kid who wanted friends
Just like Luz was
She could be a friend
Raine Whispers was powerful
The most powerful bard witch Phillip had encountered in the centuries he had spent in this realm of evil
With a keen strategic mind powerful magic and an even more powerful will to resist being possessed even transformed into one of the Collectors toys Raine had been a dangerous opponent
But good always triumphed over evil
And Phillip had been playing at being a spy for centuries before Raine Whispers had been spawned
Hiding for generations among his prey sealing their doom with the draining spell
Had it not been for the Collector somehow being freed the draining spell would have been a success
"Poor foolish Raine you tried so desperately to save your pathetic kind" Phillip mocked watching the bard try and fail miserably to stand and continue this fight but it was already too late
"You're quite the performer you fooled everyone around you that you were a loyal coven head after your capture" he continued to mock as he assimilated and gained power
It was invigorating
"But I knew your every clandestine move your scheming with Darius and Eberwolf to enter my mind and when you planned to sabotage the draining spell with the Owl lady's curse rather brilliant it might have worked even if not for the coven sigils telling me everything"
Raines eyes widened in shock and horror
Good good it was always wonderful to see that look on the face of evil before Phillip sent the monster to meet the reaper
"Oh yes I knew the locations of every marked coven member and I could listen to their conversations whenever and wherever I pleased you provided such lovely entertainment trying to save your wretched kind but this is the end and not even the Collector can stop me this time"
The Titans body would be the perfect vessel everyone including the Collector would be obliterated
Than he would save humanity
And to think he never would have known if the little brat hadn't let slip that the Owl Ladys skull headed mutt was a Titan all this time
"Thank you for one last lesson Collector" Phillip said mockingly as he began to envelop the isles
And for the first time in millennium
The Titan breathed again
Things had been going well Danny thought watching his girlfriend win over the crazy powerful kid becoming a friend for the Collector that the kid needed teaching him about kindness and compassion
All just from being Luz
Danny fell in love with her all over again
'Whoa did I just say love' Danny thought
But than at the knee things started to get bad
The island began to breathe
That couldn't be good
From the chest came a giant monster with rotted green skin white hair and glowing blue eyes
"Oh crud we forgot about Belos" Danny muttered
Belos roared letting beams of blue fire that spread more of his rotten green flesh wherever they went
He was trying to possess the entire island
And wipe out everyone on it
"Leave it to me" the Collector said flying to Belos like a missile "I know what you need" the Collector said stopping at Belos' skyscraper sized nose "you just need kindness and understanding"
Wait what
And the Collector gave Belos a hug
"Wait what" Danny said this time out loud everyone else looked equally confused
Even Belos was surprised at his 'mentors' actions
"Luz it's okay we can all be friends now" Collector said turning away from Belos smiling unaware that Belos was prepared to attack
"Collector" Luz shouted flying up pushing the kid out of the way the beam grazing her side green rot began to spread over her
"No" Danny said horrified flashbacks to the Nasty Burger filled his brain his friends his family the building exploidjng the only reason they were still here was Clockwork saving them "not again"
Please Clockwork don't let me see this again
But the ghost of time didn't interfere this time and Luz began to disappear
"Eda King Danny looks like we're going to be separated again I wish I knew what to say but I-" Luz didn't finish her sentence she faded away disappearing into a shower of sparkling lights flying away
Danny fell to his knees tears falling from his eyes
"Luz" he wailed out
Grief filled his heart
Grief and overwhelming anger
"And so ends Luz the human warrior of peace" Belos said mockingly "first the student and now the master who lead her down the path of depravity that spelled her doom"
And Danny knew exactly who he was going to take it out on
Danny got to his feet his eyes glowing
"BELLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS" Danny shouted furiously flying at the mad emperor
No kindness no compassion
Just revenge
Danny was going to rip him apart
And this is part two
So initially I had no intention of making this a full story because I had no idea how Luz was going to beat the Collector
But the episode came out and it's so obvious in hindsight
It's Luz she has a pretty good track record of turning her enemies into her friends
Lilith Amity Hunter presumably everyone else on the isles after she saved the isles
Final battle than a couple more chapters happy end of October
