Chapter 13
Root HQ.
Moegi was working with some of Sai's lieutenants, The code name for this new project is Hive. Where she will be known as Queen. It'll give the new Root commander a little time to investigate the Sharingan debacle. Sai and Ino walked down to the hall to the old Sharingan storage room. The former most classified area in the foundation, to the point only Danzo knew of its existence. Even Orochimaru who made the abomination of a limb didn't know exact number of eyes Danzo had. As they walked down the old halls they couldn't help but reflect on the day they took this place down.
Flashback Ino and Sai's POV.
With the unfortunate uncovering of Jiriaya's use of drugs, Tsunade had to put him in rehab. In another unfortunate decision the teams were done waiting to strike at Danzo. Though they were left ignorant of Naruto's innocence And his death, being just for the delusions and paranoia of the one eyed one armed bastard. They were still more than ready to get their blood due from the Root commander. She also brought in their former Sensai's to the annoyance of the kill squad. They understood that their former mentors would have questions would have worries. Some might even try to stop them from going down this path. All this and more was exactly the reason why the Hokage brought them in.
Entering the an unguarded entrance from the Forest of Death, the attack squad found Sai, he had a few of his people with him. One of them was Aburame Yōji Shino paid the silent Aburame special attention. He looked at Sai his bugs forming the Kanji for "Teams are ready" just to give some assurance. Sai nodded Anko Ibiki Yugao and Yamato were on the attack team as well. Everyone was ready to kill Danzo especially Yamato and especially Anko. "I trust you Sai but can we trust your back up?". Ino asked Sai nodded frowning. "Most of my brothers and sisters here were deemed expendable, even more expendable than most Root actually. They have the skill, but the programming failed on them. While Yoji here is practically immune to reprogramming". Sai informed Yoji's bugs made more Konji. "Itachi saved me". They wrote surprising everyone especially Sasuke.
"According to Yoji when he was placed on a team to spy on Itachi, your brother used his Sharingan to rewrite Yoji's programming. Essentially your brother made him play loyal servant, all these years and feed Itachi information on Danzo. His secondary function is to back up anyone looking to kill our odious former master". Sai informed it gave Sasuke an uneasy feeling but he ignored it for now, while everybody watched him a few of them are already ready to stab him if he got out of line. "This is for you Naruto I hope It can help you rest easy at least". Sasuke mentally prayed ashamed then nodded. "All that can wait it's good to have you regardless of the reason Yoji-San". Sasuke assured getting a nodded of neutral appreciation from the Root bug user.
"So what's first?". Anko asked with a frown it was rather surprising given as she now knows Root, tried to kill her a handful of times. Revenge would've been just the thing she needed, but she hasn't felt the same sense Naruto died. "We'll split in to our teams, though Team 7 will be generational, split with the Tsunade. So Yamato-Sensai Sasuke and myself take the lead. While Tsunade-Sama Kakashi Sakura. Sakura nodded to this making Sasuke frown, it was something Sai picked up on but ignored. "Our people know the time to attack they'll be wearing white cloaks or armbands given how dark Root headquarters is, please be mindful". Sai asked everyone nodded as Lee started walking. "Now with two team 7? It leaves team 8 with team T and I and Yugao, then team's 9 and 10. For grouping is that understood?". Everyone nodded understanding most of them were just happy they won't be paired with Sasuke. "Well boys and girls let's spill some blood". Lee ordered the former students nodded, somewhere even grinning it worried their former mentors.
Team 9 and 10.
Ino snuck in the shadows with her karambit's, in hand she grabbed Shikamaru's shoulder and pointed to three Root. "Danzo-Sama suspects a traitor in our ranks, seven-three-zero-two code named Sai in the likeliest possibility". The one is the centre informed. "Unfortunate he was supposed to be our Lord's best". Another said Ino moved quickly through the darkness. Her footsteps didn't leave a sound. She swung both her curved blades, quickly slicing the throats of the first two cross our hands so that the blades connected like a pincer. Using both hands connected, she punched the throat of the middle one before slicing it.
Another ran to her six o'clock before a foot connected with his jaw, knocking him into Tenten's waiting arms, where she snapped his neck. "Thanks Lee". Ino said with gratitude, he helped her up with a grin. "No worries someone had to keep you from doing all the work". She chuckled as team 9 and 10 continued on their path.
With the team 7s.
Sai lead his teams through the dark tunnels, he understood the importance of this mission more than anyone else. though, even he found the dead silence of his pink haired, former teammate, and the one eyed Raven to be strange. He learned to respect his pink haired Kunochi, even if he found her former fixation on Sasuke to be distasteful. Now it appeared that she despises him for what he didn't know and to him, the absolute turnaround was worrisome. It made him think of his blonde first and best friend. What would he say to this? Would he be happy that Sakura finally got over her crush? Or would he be just as worried? his thoughts lead him to another blonde in the group to his own surprise. He hoped that she would be safe.
Sakura was scanning everything critically even Orochimaru's underground layers at least had candles, so you could actually see where you're going. She had to keep from cracking a grin imagining Danzo and his agents walking into walls, Their first few years creeping around down there. Her musings were cut short when she swung, shattering the mask and breaking the nose of a hidden agent, knocking him into the ground. Just because she could find amusement in her imagination did not mean she wasn't on guard, at all times, especially now. Sai and the others pull their weapons and got in their battle stances as more of the pale man's brothers and sisters and emerged from the shadows. "Seven three zero two, how dare you betray our one true Hokage?". One of the agents asked and dull tone, Sai frowned at him.
"Because he is not the one I choose to serve. Nor should he be any of yours please brothers and sisters if you could see the world as I have. Made the friends I have made you'll see this is nothing but madness". Sai tried to appeal to them. "You're referring to the Kyuubi container, Danzo-Sama believed its corrupting influence wouldn't control you after what he ordered". The Root captain informed confusing him and Yamato. "What are you talking about?". Yamato asked when Kakashi attacked. "CHIDORI". He shouted stabbing a lightning charge fist, into the captains chest. Sasuke followed decapitating and stabbing the others. He looked at his one time mentor who simply glared and looked away. It made him frown. "What was he talking about?". Sai asked Yamato was suspicious to everyone in the know looked at each other except Kakashi and Sasuke seeing as the two former Root agents were looking directly at them.
"Do you think he had something to do with Naruto's death?". Yamato asked making his younger protégé glare murderously. "If he did so help me I'll make sure he dies slowly. I already lost a brother to him once if he took Naruto too, I'll fucking kill him slowly and every bastard responsible". Sai vowed, angrily, it took years of training for them not to sweat at that promise. Yamato's vengeful eyes didn't help them either. They could hear hundreds of footsteps coming towards them stealth wasn't an option anymore. Now they had to make a mess.
Team 8 Anko Yugao Yoji and Ibiki
They moved through the tunnels silently Hinata raised a hand and pointed. Tera and Dajimu appeared Tera had a bear mask with a stitched left eye design, and Dajimu how to circular mask with two green dots over the eyeholes, and a sharp tooth growl painted on.

Yoji's bugs wrote to Anko that these two were once tasked with assassinating her. It got a grin from the purple haired snake mistress. "Is that so well boys here I am". She stated they nodded. "We were ordered because, Danzo-Sama believed you had some allegiance to your former Sensai. We still lack any evidence to the contrary". Dajimu stated Tera nodded making her glare. "You guys go on a head I got these two bastards". Anko ordered Kurenai was about to protect when Anko glared at her. "Terror Trio for life". She said as a few more Root appeared so Kurenai moved to Anko's left while Yugao pulled her sword, getting her right. "Exactly so take the fucking team up". She ordered Anko chuckled. "Fine Cap looks like we're back in action". She said making our two best friends and former teammates, grin the rest of Team 8 Yoji and Ibiki went down a different hall, leaving the two purple haired Kunochi there.
With the Trio.
"We were once ordered to study your tactics with the original container, there is nothing you have that we don't already know". Tera assured dully as they grinned Anko launched vipers from our sleeves, that Dajimu, sliced in half getting bitten on his legs. Something that would be surprising, if he still have the ability to be surprised. While Tera's head was sliced from his shoulders and Anko appeared behind them two Kunai to his throat. "We were always taught to improvise". She said opening his throat turning and stabbing another in the head piercing his brain.
What gave these Kunochi the name Terror Trio, their name wasn't just how well they worked together, but how quick they acted. Even though they were an amalgamation of sword, summon, and illusion. Their primary focus was always quick and bloody. Kurenai already had a Genjutsu ready when Tera was explaining that they already knew them. Giving Yugao and Anko time to get in close. Anko had her real vipers heading towards Dajimu while he was slicing at the illusions, and Yugao was already mid swing when they figured out they were played. Their personalities may differ on many things, but they were a well oiled machine together, the terror part of their name wasn't because they liked playing with their victims, but because they were already prepared to end their victims.
Though the fact that three smiled every time they were able to fight together, helped with the legend a bit. Kushina valued unpredictability as well as strategy never use the same tactic twice in the same fight. Give your opponent a left when they're expecting a right, a right when they're expecting a left and I knee the balls if they're expecting a punch. Don't get fancy with your moves when you don't need to and go for the kill when you have an opening. If you're gonna talk in the middle of a fight, then use it to piss your opponent off so they do something stupid. You're trying to kill your opponent not have a chat with them. As for strategy, your comrades and opponents weaknesses and strengths for a strategy. The Trio knows everything about each other from weaknesses and strength. As for their new enemy weakness, they can't adapt quickly strength numbers. Strengths No emotions means no fear. Weakness no fear means no caution. Final weakness great numbers, narrow hallway.
Unpredictability the three of them are carrying explosive tags. So while the Kenjutsu master Yugao was fending off 10 Root agents, the flexible Anko was slapping tags on the walls. While the accurate Kurenai was throwing Kunai at the enemy to not just back up her friends but to also provide a distraction, for Anko. Anko jumped back grabbing Yugao pulling her back, while Kurenai activated her tags. A blinding flash was seen and then, that was it they were flash bombs. Blinding the distracted agents for the Trio to come in and killed them.
Team 9 and 10.
The Combat Specialists took the lead from the Catch and Release team. Lee was at the forefront with Neji and Tenten at his side. Neji looked around. "So we going up or left or right?". Neji asked confusing Team 10. When Tenten stabbed her spear to the ceiling while her friends attacked the Shadows to the sides. Lee had his in a headlock while Neji struck the heart of his target. Lee forced hard when they heard a crack, and the agent fell limply to the ground. Asuma and Guy looked at his students it was strange the former lead Jonin's out side of Kakashi, protested having their former students on this mission. For one Neji was the only Jonin of the old K-11's, the second reason was only a hand full of them are blooded, meaning to their knowledge have actually killed the person. Also to their knowledge third there was no agreeable reason that this particular group would be needed for someone like Danzo.
When they have literally hundreds of better suited Shinobi, many of them who also have a personal grudges against the bandage man themselves. Plus given how notoriously slippery the Root Commander was a hundred ANBU, beats their current number when fighting a shadow army. All Tsunade could do was nod and assure them, that their former students had their own reasons for going after Danzo. With extra assurance that none of them will hesitate, it worried the former Sensei's knowing that they were missing something. Now to see the coldness off the Ino-Shika-Cho and Neji, and the grins on Lee and Tenten. It really didn't help them at all they'll bury the worry down deep for now, and then they will demand answers from their former students.
Back with Team 7.
Yamato after hearing Root could be responsible for the death of one of his students, flew in to a rage fifty agents were impaled on sharp wooden spears that burst it from the ground. "We have to get the bastard, we need to get this bastard and he better pray that he had nothing to do with Naruto's death". Yamato ordered Sai glared and nodded more agents appeared Sai raised his hand stopping Yamato. "Ready?". They nodded and followed Sai, Sakura Kakashi and Sasuke watched them go. They simply frowned none of them felt like they should live any longer than they already have. Their worries were for their friends. They just hoped that they could keep their secret for their sake.
blood was spilled bodies litter, the hallways agents switch sides and the teams got back together now was the time.
(I know I should have a little bit more of a fight scene going on, but I'm bad at those, I will manage more fight scenes when it comes to certain characters not just character versus random guys unless there's more to the story till then though they killed their way all the way down the hallway to a set off double doors)
Danzo's throne room.
The teams of Root Sannin and future legends destroyed the double doors to see, a nausea inducing a sight there he was sitting on his throne. His black robes and arm brace removed, an Eldridge,horror of red glowing eyeballs on a wooden arm. That was the mad Root Commander his still loyal agents all around him. Sasuke and Tsunade were visibly shaking with rage at this perversion of their families DNA. "Good afternoon Hokage-Sama". Danzo greeted calmly.
"What is that THING ON YOUR ARM YOU BASTARD?". She demanded angrily Danzo grinned, showing the abomination of an appendage. "Quite the sight isn't it? A true union of Uchiha and Sanju. The DNA of your grandfather Senju Hashirama-Sama, and the Sharingan eyes of ten Uchiha, and the Mangekyō of Uchiha Shisui". He said standing up his Mangekyō Sharingan blazing. "Everyone look away Sasuke, activate your Mangekyō". Kakashi ordered everyone had to follow that order. Danzo chuckled. "I had them in my sights the moment you walked through that door and…". Danzo was cut off as Sasuke screamed. "HICHIMAN". His Mangekyō Sharingan glowed releasing a dome around his allies, their eyes glowed as well and they glared at the stunned Danzo.
"Hichiman the God of War?". Danzo asked Sasuke frowned. "And peace through strength. Those behind me now are my strength and I will do everything possible to provide them peace". Sasuke informed though they hate him. It also got a lot of surprise looks for his former friends. Danzo glared before letting a grin grace his face. "I can see now why Itachi spared you, he was truly one of a kind to see your power". Danzo praised missing the point of the elder Uchiha entirely but gaining the attention of the younger. "What are you talking you bastard?". Asuma demanded Danzo paused for a moment, Itachi was quite clear what would happen to his beloved village, If the truth came out he couldn't risk it. Then again he was about to kill the little bastards only reason for living. "You'll just have to beat me to find out". Sasuke and Tsunade were ready Sasuke pulled his sword while Tsunade tightened her fists to the point they cracked.
Danzo pulled a Kitana and readied his stance, everyone else had everyone else. Since they weren't samurai no battle cry was needed. They simply took off at a dead charge towards each other. The sound of clashing steel the breaking of bone, the piercing of flesh. The spilling of blood these are the only sounds heard it was all the noise needed. It is said a person doesn't make any noise when stabbed. Sasuke parried Danzo's strike the bastard was focused on Sasuke's blind spot.
Still an advantage could be anywhere to the experienced warrior. So when Sasuke parried an another strike to his right, he pulled a knife from his right and stabbed Danzo in the throat. "Take that you bastard". Sasuke thought, allowing himself a grin that quickly fell as Danzo's body disappeared. "Izanagi". He heard the bastards's voice in the darkness, his senses kicked in, and he jumped in front of Sakura. As Danzo appeared again getting kicked in to a wall by Tsunade. Tenten sliced the final agent upward before turning in complete shock with the others.
Danzo stood up annoyed he never actually thought that the Uchiha bastard would have friends to help him out. He actually suspected some throwaway nobodies he'd sacrifice without hesitation. The fact that they hated the Uchiha didn't help Danzo at all given that they hated him more. More of his agents ran to his side weapons drawn. "One of the eyes on Danzo's arms just closed". Hinata informed getting a glare from Danzo. "I assuming that look means that every time you use that weird ability of yours, one of those eyes closes meaning the last thing you wanted us to find out, was you only have nine more times before we kill you for good". Sakura stated Danzo grinned at her. "Cleaver girl I always knew you'd be useful to your team, even if it did take a while and the death of one of your apparent friends". Danzo mocked getting a glare from Sakura.
"I'm going to brake you in two Danzo, I'll make sure you fucking suffer before you die". Sakura vowed angrily kicking a Root agent in to a wall, Danzo heard his agent grunting in pain and grinned. "You still don't know what it means to be a Shinobi, I know you could have killed him with that kick but you held back". Danzo observed she glared harder at him. "I don't need to kill them to get to you". She stated making chuckle readying himself. "Prove it". He challenged Sakura charged over, Lee was fallowing her he jumped kick shattering the face of his opponent. Sakura threw wide swings connecting and sending agents everywhere.
"NOW". Sai shouted to the dodging Danzo's shock plenty of his agents remove their mass and were fitted with orange headbands. to distinguish themselves from their enemy, former comrades. Danzo glared and punched Sakura away and grabbed Lee by the neck choking him. Guy kicked Danzo in the far shattering his neck killing him and saving Lee. "Why did you just run in like that? I trained you better than this". Guy demanded Lee kicked up grabbing Danzo's arm with a Kunai to Guys back, for Kakashi to stab him in the brain. "You also taught me to mind my surroundings fucking follow your own advice". Lee returned angrily stunning Guy something was definitely wrong with his student.
Yamato sensing the Danzo's wooden arm made hand signs, Danzo bursted from the ground impaled in the most undignified way possible before disappearing. Reappearing he glared at his fellow wood user and former disciple. "You bastard". He said breaking his usual completely just because Izanagi makes it user into an illusion doesn't change the fact that they still feel what happens before they switch. The look made Yamato grin. "I always wanted to do that to you fucker, and unless you want it to happen again, you'll tell me what you did to Naruto". With four eyes down Shisui's eyes useless with Sasuke around at the moment, and a literal pain in the ass and throat Danzo still grinned. "I simply removed a threat to Konoha, you'd be surprised, what a person could do with the proper tools at hand. It's just a shame mine don't understand that now". Danzo cryptically mocked the wood user, while he and Sai glared murderously at him.
The luck of the cryptic remark was that the two figured one of their brothers or sisters had something to do with it. That luck would correctly disappear once in interrogations happened. The only people who truly knew what happened we're fighting alongside them or dying by them. No one else on their side knew what happened, Sai lunged at Danzo getting more than enough information for the time being swiping and slashing and punching and kicking at his former commander. "This is for my brothers SHIIN". Sai shouted stabbing Danzo's right eye. "NARUTO". He sliced Danzo's mouth open. "MY SISTERS YOU WHORED OUT FOR PISS POOR INFORMATION". He cut Danzo's neck. "EVERYONE OF US YOU THREW AWAY LIKE TRASH". He stabbed Danzo in the chest cutting him downwards. "EVERYONE OF US YOU USED AND ABUSED BRAINWASHED AND DESTROYED". He cut Danzo s all the way to the groin area and pulled back up. "And everyone in Konoha you've wronged for some vain attempt of being Hokage". He said angrily pulled the blade out Danzo just stared at him, coughing out blood before Izangi took him.
"So you think that's all this was for a meagre power struggle?". Danzo stated Sai's eyes widened in fear, Danzo was behind Ino and blade to her throat. "It was quite child everything I've done since the day I convinced Hiruzen, to let me create, the foundation was always to protect the village". Danzo stated holding Ino tightly. "I love Konoha Sai, I've loved it since the day I first laid eyes on it. Since Haishirama-Sama founded it with Madara". He said with a glare. "But when I person loves something that much, they should also see its faults. So they can improve it and make it even better now t just for themselves but for everyone in it". He educated Sai took a step that he immediately withdrew, when he said some blood trickle down Ino's neck. Sai glared murderously and his former master.
"And turning everyone around you some of us just children in to mindless yes men, and throwaways is to do that?". He asked Danzo sighed at him Naruto's, corruption has done his job to perfectly. "Not at all child, the whole purpose of the foundation was first created to begin with was to be the Shadows for the light. If I was Hokage I wouldn't simply just toss people in the Academy and like the clans do. I would make it strictly volunteer based unlike how your brothers and sisters you're preaching about now were volunteered into this". He said with a grin. "It is true Root started with a few, individuals with my ideas of a better village and willingness to do anything to protect it. I've had just as many after those bright individuals had children many of you, who knew what I was planning and allowed it to happen. All of you are first second third and fourth generation of those true loyalist. Just as many of you volunteered to begin with most of you were volunteered without your say so by the Clans, and yes, some of you were orphans I took people or bought the throwaways from the moment you first drew breath". Many of them glared angrily others simply listened.
"I've been the closest thing to a father most of you ever had, I gave you purpose I gave you a goal. I gave you everything you couldn't need to be the best soldier you can be. With out me most of you would have died the moment you were born, Hell, it was still a choice. People made whether it was yours or not. It's all the Konoha clans ever did. make choices for others most of you are Shinobi now because of those choices others made for you". Danzo continued with a grin before they could protest he cut them off. "Hyuga Hinata did you become a Konochi, because you wanted to fight for your home and protect your Clan or was it because Hiashi said so, how about the slave was it his choice to be branded?". Hinata paused Neji glared. "Or you Mr. Troublesome would you rather be looking at clouds or lead others in to a battlefield like your father did?". Shikamaru glared. "We all know the Akamichi is to weak for war, so why was he put in the Academy can it really just be because his best buddy was in there, or because he's ninth generation Ino-Shika-Cho". Choji frowned angrily. "Asuma you volunteered to join the Academy, but we both know if it wasn't for your daddy and big brother you wouldn't have, but having a god of Shinobi as a father would've been so disgraceful if you didn't". Asuma glared murderously at Danzo.
"The only ones out of all of you who actually volunteered, was Aburame Haruno Lee and Tenten. One was to impress the boy she liked the other two were orphans who saw no other way. That's what the village did long before I came in to any type of power. Seeing our Anbu patrolling, the village to them is a boring task, but to the civilian children, and people who see them doing it, it's a sight to behold. Do you even know where the civilian school is?". He questioned they glared making him grin. "Exactly we don't have a strict school for civilians. We have the Academy and that's it. if you wash out you at least know you're basic math to work at a store but it's all to build us Shinobi in the end, do you need at least basic combat training even as a civilian in case you're a village is in jeopardy". He continued. "And then there's the only true Shinobi clan in Konoha the Aburame, every member volunteered themselves the very foundation started with ten Aburame". He nearly concluded. "Now with this many people forced into the life you've had who don't give it, the respect deserves like you did are you really surprised the foundation was allowed to exist? The whole point of it was when the light fails the dark continues the fight. even then, it never stopped fighting to begin with. Hiruzen was well aware of the liberties I'd take to insure Konoha's survival it's why he never liked to know what I was doing to begin with, and basically gave me my own underground village to control at my own discretion. because even the great peacemaker knew before extending one hand, you needed a dagger in the other". He concluded they glared harder.
"None of that makes it right". Shikamaru shouted Danzo nearly laughed. "What exactly is right and wrong to you Nara? You're all here now because you have a grudge against me. Because of the Kyuubi container but what if I told you he was the most manipulated one out of all of you". He stated angering them. "You know originally he wanted to be a ramen chef at Ichiraku, he was even learn from Teuchi himself before his stand started losing customers who wouldn't eat with a demon made or a musician I'll admit he was quite talented on the piano. Hardly the choices of a person always striving to be Hokage don't you agree?". He stated shocking absolutely everyone as he grinned.
"When I would visit Hiruzen at his manor it was manly to see the boy, I'd would genuinely listen to him play in silence for hours. While Hiruzen and I had tea in the other room. He was just as good with a guitar as well". He said remembering. "He had one song that always moved Hiruzen to tears, and helped me remember why I do the things I do, but it's not for you to know. But like everything else someone else's choice to ruin those dreams for him and that someone was the third. When Uzumaki got a small piano for his eighth birthday from Ayame he treasured the thing. Playing it morning, noon and night hiding it whatever he had to leave. Unfortunately, some people broke into his house and destroyed the thing you should've seen that heartbroken look at his eyes the day he found his instrument destroyed and smashed to nothing". Kakashi was heartbroken remembering the day with Anko, it was the only time he ever saw cry as she hugged him tightly.
He remembered listening to the symphonies Naruto would play on that piano. "So he gave it up like his dream to cook at the ramen stand. That's when Hiruzen told him about being Hokage". Danzo continued with a grin. "How a Hokage fights for his people and his people first for him. Hiruzen legitimately believed Naruto was the one to replace him or his successor one day". He said with a small chuckle. "But I'm all reality Uzumaki was a weapon to be used against Konoha's enemies, where Hiruzen saw a true Hokage everyone else saw a demon that needed controlling to unlock his true purpose. The protection of the villain and all who dwell within its walls". Everyone glared some even with tears in their eyes. Sakura Hinata Kakashi Tsunade and Sai the most. "Manipulation is what built Konoha manipulation protected Konoha and manipulation with always be the foundation of Konoha and the Shinobi world. Uzumaki was a tool to be used till broken breed to provide a successor for the Kyuubi then tossed in an unmarked grave while we begin again with the next. That was his purpose until the little bastard decided to think for himself too much. Even with all the relative good he did for the village. We could've gained triple quadruple a thousand more useful resources if we just let him loose on the enemy and conquer the lands he brought hope to. The village could've had trip the army of people who knew better than to turn against it rather than worthless alliances with down and out villages like Suna". Danzo was showing what made him a Warhawk now. "Since Namikaze imprisoned the Kyuubi in Uzumaki. He proved to be a fitting Hokage like I would be. Village before everything else he gave us a weapon he wanted that to be kept secret from all of us". Danzo finished.
"You're right". Ino said shocking everyone and mildly surprising Danzo, as she looked down in tears. "He could have been an ultimate weapon, a powerhouse destroying anything around him for the betterment of the village". He said shaking remembering the look in Naruto's eyes before going over the cliff. "Instead he became a noble kind caring warrior, bent on bringing peace and prosperity to everyone. Whether he was manipulated in to it or not Uzumaki Naruto always did the right thing even against everyone's judgment". She said destroyed the murder was playing in everyone's heads. "He shouldn't have been that selfless and caring but somehow he was and for what? How did he do it?". She asked Danzo grinned before getting hit in the eye when Ino swung a Kunai up. She turned and continued stabbing him.
"HOW COULD HE HAVE BEEN A MONSTER OR WEAPON WHEN HE WAS SUCH A FUCKING SAINT?". She demanded stabbing Danzo more. "HOW COULD YOU COMPARE ANYONE TO HIM ESPECIALLY YOURSELF?". She slit his throat and Danzo disappeared again. Danzo now had five. Chidori to the chest from Kakashi made it for, Asuma stabbing him in the throat and cutting his head off made it three. A punch from Sakura launching his for Sasuke to cut him in half made it two. He reappeared again and jumped away from Lee. Danzo glared at everyone. "KILL THEM ALL". The vary few loyalist he had left did as told while he tried to make us escape he needed to keep these remaining eyes. He needed to rebuild. He needed to eliminate these problems, then he would be Hokage. "Get back here you bastard". Tsunade shouted Sasuke was worried about everyone else. "GO". Sakura shouted punching agent braking his jaw for a knockout.
Frowning he joined Tsunade though he saw the logic of battling Shisui's eye, it still hurt. Danzo bursted in to a room being followed by Sasuke and Tsunade, they stopped in utter horror at this room. Hundreds of Sharingan eyes in tanks. Sasuke moved back in shock disgust anger and sadne. "My god". Sasuke said a tear in his eye. He glared making hand signs. "FIRE STYLE: PHOENIX FLOWER JUTSU". He shouted blowing a massive blast of fiery destruction, at the tanks destroying the room. "Sasuke". Tsunade said actually feeling sorry for him, he looked at her tearfully. "I'll talk to Shizune later right now we need to stop Danzo". He assured Tsunade could only nodded and join him.
Konoha Rehabilitation Centre, Psychotherapeutic Dependency wing.
Shizune said with Jiriaya who was shaking he was wearing a white shirt, pants slippers, and a red overcoat. "Fuck fuck FUCK make it stop I need a fix I NEED IT NOW". He demanded making everyone flinch, Shizune frowned. "Jiriaya-Sama you need to relax and talk your pills". Shizune ordered Jiriaya shook more. "No no the pills make me see they put me to sleep, and make me see them all of them". Jiriaya protested. "Who?". She asked and he shook more hugging himself. "Them Dan Nawaki Minato Kushina, and…and". He bursted into tears. "And my boy Naruto". He said in tears Shizune frowned at him more. They felt the earth shaking from Sasuke's attack. "What was that?". Jiriaya asked he was left out of the loop about the attack for obvious reasons, but a spy master is nothing if not, perceptive. At Shizune's nervous tight lipped look and the bead of sweat going down her head.
Jiriaya's eye widened. "Jiriaya no". She protested he stood up six foot four former two hundred and fifty pounds turned a hundred and eighty but still angry Sannin. "Jiriaya". She said as he looked at the door. "JIRIAYA". She shouted run to block the door when he B-lined it to the window smashing through it instead. "FUCK". Shizune shouted charging after him.
Back to Danzo.
Danzo ran taking one of the stairs to the his secret door of The Konoha Holdings and Savings Safe. He ran and pulled the secret switch unlocking the massive steel door. Tsunade and Sasuke on his tail everything Danzo did pissed them off more and more, not only his agents supplying him with funding. The fucker was stealing from the village he says he loved so much. Danzo made it to the roof looking out over his village and the dozens of Anbu running around. Shikamaru made sure that every stone would be turned when it came to Danzo. They took great lengths to make sure the Anbu knew an hour after entering that Danzo was a traitor to Konoha. So anyone that could remotely be a spy wouldn't have time to warn him, and anyone who even thought to leave their squad to even take a piss would be marked as a trader as well. so everyone stayed in their formations everyone checked every narrow corner every dark alley every house every district everything the slippery bastard could sneak out of.
"Cleaver". He said with a frown one Anbu looked up at Danzo making him frown. His eye then widened one of the Anbu's eye holes glowed red, he then ran off with his squad. Danzo held his head for a moment fighting the control. "Danzo". He turned and glared at Sasuke and Tsunade. "So you really planned ahead Namikaze would be so proud". He said with a grin Tsunade was wide eyed. "What does Lord Minato have to do with this?". Sasuke asked Danzo chuckled. "The amount of stupid people in this village, is palpable and you're no different. I'm referring to his son Namikaze Naruto". Sasuke's eye widened it all made sense now he then glared even harder. "Why did you have him killed?". He demanded Danzo grinned. "The son of Namikaze Minato and Uzumaki Kushina. Someone him would be put on a high pedestal then you ever would be Uchiha. He's worth an entire dynasty by himself, imagine if he found that out himself for a moment. Kushina had plenty saved up from her Shinobi days and what little she managed to get on a return to her farmer home could buy this village a thousand times over. Minato himself was also no slouch in investing either despite their modest living arrangements. They were two of Konoha's richest and beloved people". He said taking a breath shaking they thought it was out of anger, but he was really trying to to fight whatever was making him to talk.
"Now you have their son a person, beaten, abused, abandoned, and spurred far as other teammates. Imagine one day he snapped due to all of this imagine what he would do if he found out just how powerful he really was". He said with an amused grin. "But I guess I don't need to tell you that now do I?". He asked referring to Sasuke's eye. "Minato and Kushina had almost as big an impact on the world as their son did, on and off the battlefield in and out of the village. People would be furious with Konoha people would demand everything from us none more so than Uzumaki Naruto himself. The Diemyo's and leaders he associated with would put pressure on us to give him his birthright. While Naruto himself wouldn't have any reason to care about us anymore. I knew it would be enough to break his seal and release his tenant. Even if not we're talking about the container with the strongest of the tailed beast, and rich beyond measure who would destroy us all with barely a thought. Even if he never found out about his heritage, everything he's went through so far prior to the assignment, I gave your supposed friends I know it would've broken him eventually". Danzo stated Sasuke had murder his his red eye, he was so full of rage he couldn't even sense. The madman was being manipulated, even if he could, he wouldn't care he heard nothing but the truth right now coming from the bastard.
"I knew none of you would believe me so I took precautions, I manipulated the only two with the authority to play such a mission, this eye was the key to the betterment of Konoha". Tsunade was in tears. "I will admit even I had doubts on him turning, but I will never ever allow even the slightest doubt hold me back when such a threat to Konoha lingers". He said angrily. "You made me you made Jiriaya kill our only son, as a preemptive strike for something that MAY NEVER HAVE HAPPEN". She shouted she read the journal. She started this little expedition to kill the bastard because she read that journal, but even now hearing it from the fuck her own mouth made her more furious. Anbu heard her and rushed over a red blur nearly blasted them off the roof as they ran.
"DANZO". They heard Tsunade's eyes widened Danzo turned almost in slow motion, his face was caved in and his head exploded off his body. Jiriaya landed with a blood thirsty glare. "THAT CANT BE FUCKING IT CAN IT?". He heard steel clash with steel and turned stunned Sasuke was locking swords with Danzo. He took notice of the arm with the Anbu and close by Clan head and was horrified with them. "Jiriaya-Sama move". Sasuke ordered pushing back Danzo who parried and moved away from Tsunade's attack. Shadows bonded Danzo courtesy of Shikaku, Sasuke and Tsunade charged he stabbed Danzo in the chest she broke his jaw and Jiriaya followed with a Rasangon to the face destroying in.
"Last one". Tsunade said Sasuke nodded confessing everything. "SUMMONING JUTSU". Sasuke and Tsunade sighed annoyed while everyone else was stunned the others finally joined, they were beaten up, bloody and bruised, but also side and annoyance. "What the fuck is that stupid looking thing?". Lee asked Asuma and the elder Jonin moved back. "That Baku the Nightmare Eating Tapir Pig. Danzo's personal summon". Asuma informed he saw the creature in action once and in was terrifying. Sasuke Jiriaya and Tsunade Sakura looked at each other and mad hand signs. "SUMMONING JUTSU". Everyone moved back because Katsua Aoda and Gamabunta, now stood the Baku growled at the three rival summons who, hissed grunted and stared in return.
"WHAT'S GOING ON HERE SASUKE-SAMA?". Aoda asked Sasuke glared. "That bastard the bastard who killed Naruto". Gamabunta glared with murder in his eyes. Aoda knew the truth Orochimaru talked but he would never betray his summer Katsua was the same. Gamabunta was informed as well after Jiriaya's meld down in the toad realm, but he wanted revenge on this bastard. "SO YOUR DANZO HOW DARE YOU HARM NARUTO?". He demanded removing his Tanto. Danzo grinned at him then held his head. "No not here the village would be destroyed". Danzo said fight the control Sakura jumped Katsua and charged grabbing the giant pigs trunk. "THEN LETS GET YOU OUT OF IT". She shouted pulling the big and swinging it around with Danzo holding on Sakura let go launching the beast away over the village and wall. Gamabunta she and Tsunade de summoned Katsua hoping on Gamabunta who leaped away, with Aoda following quickly. Everyone else jumped and followed whether they were useful or not. This would be a hell of a fight Lee Guy Tenten and Neji activated their dates and charged.
Outside Konoha.
Baku landed with a crash but the beast stood back up angrily, Danzo was still holding his head. "What's happening to me?". Danzo said angrily he heard a whistle from behind him. Turning to see someone in an orange mask. "Who are you?". Danzo demanded the eye glowed again before he disappeared. Danzo held his head again he threw in to a rage, the allies appeared the two medics re-summoning their partner. "KILL THEM". He ordered Baku charged at the three way dead lock, who returned it Sasuke crouched, sword in hand. When Aoda rammed in to Baku it launch the Uchiha off its heads. Slamming him in to Danzo who grabbed his slashing hand braking Sasuke's wrist while Aoda bit Baku's neck. Sasuke tackled Danzo off the summon who punched him off.
He said his Summon being crushed bitten and stabbed with its face, being melted from the slugs acid. He glared his prosthetic started hurting, making him scream and pain. A tree burst from his arm, pinning him there ripping himself free he pulled the knife. He was made with a special coating of poison just for Tsunade. "DIE TSUNADE". He charged at top speed to the last Senju, Sasuke jumped in front of her taking the stab everyone's eyes widened. Sasuke screamed in pain and jammed his thumb in the Danzo's eye ripping out Shisui's eye and crushed in. Sakura jumped and punched Danzo smashing him in to a boulder. He Danzo grunted before falling forward and hitting the ground unconscious. Anbu ran over tying him up with chains.
"Sasuke". Tsunade said catching him his was poisoned, Sakura looked at him neutrally. "Tsunade". Shizune shouted landing she looked at Sasuke. "What happened?". She asked he was breathing heavily Tsunade checked the knife investigating the colouration. "It's a nerve toxin and poison, the bastard was trying to bypass my healing factor". She said angrily looking at Sasuke, he was sweating he may have saved her life. Sasuke himself was looking at Sakura. "I'm sorry". He said closing his eye Sakura was blank. "Sakura you're the best with poison's we need to help him". Shizune said Sakura glared and turned. "Sakura help him now that's an order". Tsunade demanded everyone looked at her. She turned and glared dangerously at them Sai ran over. "What's going on why aren't you helping him?". Sai asked confused and worried Sakura looked at him heartbrokenly and went to help glaring at her former Mentor angrily. "Ino". She said Ino ran over Sakura passed her the knife.
Sakura pulled a scroll releasing its stored items of a Mortar and Pestle, Alembic, Calcinator, and Retort. Ino examined the poison and informed Sakura of the contents who pulled out some herbs crush them all in the pestle crushed mix boiled dripped pulled the syringe got the contents and injected Sasuke. Put everything away and started walking to Danzo. Ino looked at Sasuke for a moment with a cold glance as he opened his eye. She then left with the vary confused Sai.
Sai helped Sasuke up who nodded in appreciation Sai had to support him. "Let's finish this". He said Sai nodded. "What was in that room you destroyed?". He asked Sasuke glared. "Sharingan hundreds of them". Everyone who heard him were horrified. "I'm sorry". He said Sasuke looked at him. "Thank you, I think you should kill him. He mutilated my clansman but I still think you should put him down". Sasuke said past Sai his sword surprising everyone, Sai accepted it sitting Sasuke on a rock. Shikaku watched when he noticed a red eye with Tsume Choza and Inochi their eyes glowed for a moment. "Wait". Shikaku said stopping Sai.
"This bastard always justified his action, using Konoha I think we should execute him with Konoha as a whole wanting him dead". He suggested brainwashed for a moment, Tsunade was tense with everyone else. "Are you fucking nuts these slippery fucker needs to die now". Jiraiya exclaimed Shikaku paused getting the information on what to say. "I still think it's what he deserves, he will die Jiraiya I assure you of that. Still Konoha the village needs its closure". He argued. "I second this". Inochi says surprising Ino. "Third". Choza said Tsume nodded in agreement. Sai glared at them then looked at Tsunade who frowned, Sai let out angry yell and stabbed Danzo in the side pinning him to the boulder. "FINE but if anything goes wrong it's on you". He said pissed Obito grinned his last bit of manipulation done till the day revolution happens.
End of flashback.
The silence was braking Ino's heart after that first conversation with Sai, then telling him about hunt for the body. She hoped it could help she wanted to make things right with Sai. She grew to care for him deeply she was actually glad most of the truth came out about Naruto. She couldn't bare the thought of lying to him forever, but finding out that not only was Naruto's death just a preemptive strike from a mad bastard, but that he was also the son of two of the greatest heroes in Konoha destroyed her. She would still cry in private ever now and then, still Naruto's parentage didn't matter as much as the man himself did. "We're here". Sai informed Ino nodded as they opened the door. The ruins of this macabre storage facility, they looked at each other. "I'll take east you west". Sai ordered then turned Ino frowned sadly and went to her side. She schooled herself and went in to Kunochi and Detective mode.
Ino and Sai both noticed a few tanks that weren't to damaged but missing eyes, they just assumed they were the tanks for the ones Danzo used. As they walked around she noticed something behind the shelves. "SAI I GOT SOMETHING". He ran over Ino grabbed the shelves Sai help her pull, getting it far enough it was to a freezer door. Pulling it open it was shocking blood packs were everywhere. They looked at each other and investigated nothing was labeled, Sai looked at Ino who nodded gathering some packs for Sakura.
Haematology lab.
Sakura was looking through her microscope, analyzing the blood she compared it to others even her own and frowned. "It's AB you're saying you found this in a fridge in Danzo's old Sharingan room?". She asked Ino and Sai nodded, Sakura took another sample from a different bag. Then another beg and another she continued getting pissed with each one. "It's all AB, my hospital could have used this for transfusions and surgery and that bastard had a walk-in freezer full of it". She said angrily Sai frowned his education was in Shinobi matters not medicine. "What's so special about AB blood?". He had to ask Ino sighed. "An A positive can only give blood to or receive from another A positive. Same with A negative B positive and B negative type O, and so forth AB on the other hand is universal, you can put it in anyone with no health drawbacks". She explained Sai nodded in understanding going through his mind his eyes widened. "I need to find Sasuke, you two stay here please". He said running out the piece fell in place for them, Ino was stunning Sakura sighed and continued studying.
Sakura stood with Sasuke Shizune and the others. "It's a match Sasuke's blood is a match for everything". She assured Sasuke sat down teary eyed. "He didn't just take their eyes he was bleeding their bodies like a fucking vampire". He said angrily Sakura frowned more. "I have a theory I'd like to test on Kakashi". She informed getting everyone's attention. "If I'm right we may have found out Iwa's Sharingan method". She informed informed getting everyone's attention.
Hospital.
Kakashi sat in a chair while Sakura hooked him up with an Uchiha blood pack, she ran some tests and got started. Kakashi was feeling his eye burn slightly then stop Sakura was wide eyed. He realized he was just looking at her not recording her. Looking in a mirror his eyes widened. He focused and turned his Sharingan on then off again, he repeated a few times then looked at her. "You're a genius". He said Sakura frowned then sighed. "Kakashi I want you to continue keeping your head protecter on over your eye in public. If anyone finds out about how we did this, we'll lose Shinobi to them trying to save an enemies Sharingan for themselves". She informed the lack of trust was smart all things considered. Kakashi nodded with a sigh he'd grown used to covering his eye regardless.
"Alright fine still it will be nice to read with both eyes now". He said it got a small chuckle from Sakura. "Still reading that porn? At least that hasn't changed". She said Kakashi sighed. "Actually I haven't touched them in years, I've actually been reading Kazahana's biography on Naruto". He informed she frowned as he sighed. "The one from his trip to Demon's and his fight in the Sky Fortress is coming out next week, it's the only literature that's still actively comes here". He said making sigh. "Take it easy Sensai". She said walking out bumping into Hanare, Sakura was surprised to see her again. "Hey kiddo how is he?". She asked when Kakashi was rushed to the hospital Sakura didn't exactly stop and see if he brought friends. Sakura was silent making her grin. "He's my roommate". Hanare informed shocking Sakura. "I heard a little about that I just didn't think it was you Hanare". She informed Hanare shrugged. "Come on I'll buy ya a drink". Sakura frowned. "It's 10am". She informed. "Well make it a double then". She ordered walking off Sakura chuckle. "We'll head to my office first". She said joining her.
Sakura's office.
Entering Sakura grabbed the bottle from her desk. Hanare grinned as Sakura poured taking her glasses. "If someone knocks hide your glass if they just walk in, don't worry about it". Sakura warned Hanare chuckled and cheered her they drank and sighed. "How is he?". Hanare got to the point. "Stable Foxtrot got him good though". Sakura informed. "It wasn't Foxtrot in was the purple haired girl".
"Anko?".
"No Yugao".
"So why did Kakashi have a knife wound then?". Sakura asked their eyes widened and they ran out of the office.
Yugao's apartment.
Sakura bursted through Yugao's door startling her Kurenai and Anko. "WHAT THE FUCK?". Yugao demanded. "Yugao where's your sword did you clean it?". Sakura demanded she nodded pissing Sakura off. "You didn't cut Kakashi you got Foxtrot, he used Kakashi as a diversion. We would have had the bastards DNA identification if you didn't clean your blade". She said angrily Yugao ran to a room and came out with a bloody cloth. "This is what I used before adding the polish". Sakura took it put it in her bag, put that bag in her pocket of the lab coat, she was still wearing and ran out with Hanare Yugao sighed sitting down. "I didn't get Sempai thank Kami". She said she felt guilty since it happened
Sakura ran passed someone down the hull, who moved quickly and swiped the bag from her with a grin. He continued on his way to the next floor. "Sakura ran out and felt something was off". She checked her pocket and glared. It was a not. Sorry Dear I like being mysterious. It said she crushed the note in her hand, she ordered Anbu to such every room in the apartment and found absolutely nothing.
With Ino and Sai.
The two walked with each other Sai was heading to Root Ino her apartment. "Would you like some tea?". She offered Sai doesn't drink tea, but shrugged going to a tea house when Ino grabbed him with a sigh dragging him with her place.
Ino's apartment.
Entering Sai sat down while Ino made the tea, he noticed a framed photo and frowned. It was of him Ino Isaribi and Naruto, it was taken during the small I guess you could call it a date at the Akimichi barbecue house. It Ino was lean on the table head in her hand Sai had a small smile and Naruto had his arm around Isaribi's shoulder with his famous smile, while she had a little bit of blush on her cheeks. "I miss those days". He heard and saw Ino, she placed a cup in front of him. "I still deliver flowers to the grave every year one that day". Sai informed surprising her she frowned sadly, she wasn't in the shop anymore so never knew. "That's kind of you". She informed her sighed looking at the photo. "It's not just the the fact it was his tradition either, it was the fact it was the first and last time I felt genuinely good". He informed making her frown at him.
"Naruto Isaribi us, it feels like a life time ago but I was laughing smiling for real and I felt connected with you guys. I felt human for the first time that day". Ino was in tears as he looked down sadly. "I know what you went through Ino, even though I was programmed at birth for this it never stopped hurting when it came to killing a friend. For you it was Naruto for me it was my brother Shiin". He shook nearly in tears Ino was shaking with him. Sai mentioned that but never went in to detail. "I hated everyone when the truth came out, Danzo Kakashi Sakura Lee Shikamaru everyone". She was nearly crying now a he looked at her in tears. "I wanted to hate you to but I couldn't, no matter how betrayed I felt I couldn't bring myself to. Because you were one of only two people who made me feel accepted". Ino sat beside him and hugged him tightly crying, she kissed him.
"I don't just accept Sai I care about you so much, I love you that day we spent talking and laughing, when it was just us I had feelings for you. I just don't want you to be dragged down with us as a traitor". She said Sai kissed her back they started getting a little more passionate.
