One day on Cybertron Starscream was on his day off and board out of his mind trying to think of something to do.
So decide to call his best friend Knock Out who had recently become his roommate after the red medic's apartment had been destroyed in a freak accident and the seeker had let him move in to his guest room.
(Flash back.)
Knock Out had invited Starscream to his apartment to hang out and watch horror movies and the two had just arrived in the area.
"Umm isn't there supposed to be an apartment building here?" Asked Starscream.
"What the scrap where did my apartment go?" Knock Out asked confused and slightly panicked.
"Hey Knock Out how you doing?" Brainstorm greeted the red medic and Starscream noticed his body language seemed nervous and like he was trying to avoid something.
"What happened?" Knock Out demanded being able to tell the Autobot Mad Scientist who was also his upstairs neighbor had had something to do with the disappearance of their apartment building.
"I may have been experimenting and cause a little black hole to appear in my room that may have sucked the whole building in before I managed to get rid of it." Brainstorm explained.
"What?!" Knock Out kept screaming at him over and over again not happy about suddenly being homeless.
"I needed that!" The red medic added. "Oh scrap I'm quoting Ratchet now."
"Umm what's that?" Starscream asked seeing something that looked similar to a black hole pop up.
"Wow it's a white hole where as black holes suck things in white holes spit things out." Brainstorm explained.
Then it suddenly sent something flying at them that Knock Out caught, Then the red medic held up his buffer.
"Well at least it gave me my buffer back." He smiled as he put it in his subspace right before it suddenly started spitting out random stuff from all the apartments forcing all three of them to duck and dodge.
"Evasive action!" Starscream shouted as a TV barley missed him and Brainstorm had to jump out of the way of several bricks.
Then Knock Out ended up getting hit on the helm by something and knocked out cold and Starscream quickly rushed over and dragged his friend to safety.
Then Brainstorm was suddenly chased off by the other apartment residents who were none to happy with him, And Starscream took Knock Out to the hospital.
Later Knock Out woke up in a hospital berth where Ratchet said he was fine other then being knocked unconscious and could go home anytime.
"Um Ratchet." Starscream tapped his shoulder then whispered in his ear explaining what happened.
"Oh scrap I'm so sorry." Ratchet apologized after learning Knock Out didn't have a home to go back to currently.
"It's ok, This just isn't my day." Knock Out groaned. "What hit me anyway?"
"This and I figured you might want to keep it after seeing what it was." Starscream told his best friend handing him Breakdown's hammer. "And you can stay in my guest room for as long as you need."
"Thanks Screamer." Knock Out thanked the seeker accepting the offer.
(Back to the present.)
Starscream called Knock Out and explained that he was board.
"I have a long shift right now but when I get back we can have a movie marathon and maybe ask Windblade and Moonracer if they wanna go on a double date with us." Knock Out suggested.
Starscream had started dating Windblade and Knock Out was in a relationship with Moonracer.
"Sounds like a good idea, In the meantime I'll go for a flight." Starscream replied before saying goodbye to his best friend and hanging up.
Starscream transformed into his jet mode and was having fun flying and doing stunts when he saw something shiny on the ground in a canyon area and landed to investigate.
He was surprised to find and egg that was just by itself so he decided to bring it to the hospital to see if Knock Out could help him figure out what kind of egg it was and who it might belong too.
A few minutes later Starscream arrived at the hospital and showed the egg to Knock Out and told him how he found it.
Suddenly the egg started to move and then crack and suddenly a light blue and white baby predacon femme with yellow detailing hatched from it and looked at both of them smiling.
"Oh how cute!" They both said at once.
She started crying and they realized she was hungry and Knock Out knowing what to do as a medic got an energon cube and put it in a bottle to give her, He had never dealt with a predacon sparkling but this was a sparkling and sparkings needed refill their tanks for often since they were still growing and as a new born this little one was going to need lot of attention.
"Here you go little one." He said giving her the bottle after Starscream handed her to him.
But suddenly she stopped sucking on the bottle and started looking around moving her snout.
"What's wrong little one?" Asked Knock Out only for her to suddenly sneeze in his face making a small lighting bolt appear that zapped him in the face leaving it charred winning a laugh from Starscream.
Knock Out was shocked for a second but laughed too thinking it was actually kind of cute and funny.
"We should call her Lighting Blaze." Starscream told the red medic.
"Good idea but we should try to give her back to her parents they might be worried about her." Knock Out pointed out.
"Your right I didn't think of that." Starscream agreed. "It would be best for her to be with her own kind."
So after explaining to Ratchet the two of them left to take Lighting Blaze to where Starscream found her egg planning to return her to her parents.
Watching them go Ratchet smiled proud of the two former Decepticons for wanting to do what was best for the young predacon.
But he didn't see one of the other medics Pharma glare at them hating Decepticons and not liking predacons either thinking both were a threat to Cybertron after the war.
A few minutes later Starscream and Knock Out arrived at the spot with Lighting Blaze but we're horrified when they came across the dead bodies of her parents.
"Oh scrap what happened to them?" Starscream asked quietly as not to wake up the baby predacon who was sleeping in his arms not wanting her to see this.
"Looks like they died from lack of energon and scraplets." Knock Out answered him being able to tell as a medic and seeing scraplets were still chewing on the remains of the two dead predacons. "Looks like they've been this way for awhile."
"Poor kid." Starscream said feeling the baby predacon snuggle to him in her sleep.
"Maybe Predaking can raise her because I still think she would be best off with her own kind." Knock Out told Starscream wiping away coolant tears he had from learning that Lightning Blaze was an orphan.
"Agree." Starscream replied both of them wanting what was best for the sparkling they'd found and already loved.
So they called for a ground bridge then went to Predaking's location and give him the still sleeping baby predacon.
"We found her and her parents are both dead and we know she belongs with her own kind so please take good care of her." Starscream explained nervously having never been on the best term with Predaking.
The adult predacon responded by snarling at the two of them making it clear he wanted them to go so they both left getting the hint and heading home.
But as soon as they were gone Lightning Blaze woke up and looked around confused after spotting Predaking but no Starscream or Knock Out before tears began to appear in her little optics.
A few hours later after Starscream and Knock Out had gotten home and they were both heartbroken that Predaking didn't even let them tell Lightning Blaze goodbye
"Do you think we did the right thing." Starscream asked sadly.
"Yeah I think another predacon can raise her better then we could." Knock Out answered the seeker. "But I'm really gonna miss her."
"Me too but the important thing is that she'll grow up strong, healthy and happy even if you don't get to see it." Starscream agreed, Both of them just wanted whatever was best for Lightning Blaze.
Suddenly they heard the doorbell ring and went to answer it.
Then we're surprised to see Predaking there in his bot mode holding Lighting Blaze who had been bawling her eyes out.
"Please make it stop!" Predaking told them handing Lightning Blaze to Starscream and she immediately stopped crying and smiled upon seeing him and Knock Out.
"Why are did you try to give her to me when she's already imprinted on the two of you?" He then asked them.
"We thought thought she would be happier and better off with her own kind." Knock Out explained.
"Well as you can see that isn't the case because her crying said otherwise." Predaking told them rubbing his helm to get rid of the headache she had given him.
"You two clearly care about her enough to put her well being first so your the two best ones to raise her I wouldn't have trusted you in the past but now I think the future of my kind will be in good hands with you." Predaking said looking at Starscream then at Knock Out.
"We'll take good care of her." Knock Out promised.
"We'll make sure she's always safe, healthy and happy." Starscream add.
"And I'll help out anytime you need it just call." Predaking told them before transforming and flying off glad that the predacon sparkling would be in good hand and that her crying would be their problem now and not his.
Starscream and Knock Out were both thrilled to have Lightning Blaze back and knew it would be a long and hard road with lot of twists and turns and hard times as well as happy ones but they were both determined to give Lightning Blaze the best life possible.
