Huh… I guess you guys really, REALLY liked the last chapter judging from the amount of reviews it got.
Can't imagine why.
Gurarararararara.
Loving the reactions we've been getting in the reviews, loving how people are reacting to Thor showing up and Peter getting the symbiote suit on top of the mentions of the Celestials like Arishem.
Looking at it, I think this is my most reviewed chapter ever. AND this story has passed the 3k review threshold.
And it was done by Coldbrace, someone I forgot to give a shoutout to. Too SWEEEEET, right back at ya bud, RIP Razor Ramon and Bullet Club 4 Life.
However, once again, it has come to my attention that a number of things have either been ignored or have gone unnoticed by some of the readers so allow me to rectify this here and now once again.
Don't mind the capitalization, it's a means of catching the attention of the readers so that they can read this.
NO VENOM.
NO ETERNALS.
SPIDER-MAN GETTING THE SYMBIOTE WAS PLANNED IN THE REBOOT OF THE STORY AND WE NEVER HAD ANY INTENTIONS OF BRINGING VENOM IN.
HULK IS ON SAKAAR, FAR FROM THE STAR WARS GALAXY.
AND WE ALSO HAVE SAID THAT OTHER THAN A ONE SPECIFIC PROPERTY, NO PHASE 4 FILMS OR TV SHOWS. THE ETERNALS WILL NOT BE SHOWING UP. AGATHA HARKNESS WILL NOT SHOW UP. THE FLAG SMASHERS WILL NOT, NOR WILL MOON KNIGHT, THE DEVIANTS, KAMALA OR ANY OTHER PHASE 4 PROPERTIES.
She-Hulk is an outlier cause she was planned BEFORE her show was to be announced.
Again, that wasn't me shouting at you guys, this is just all capitalized in hopes you guys read this all.
I know some of this comes as a disappointment to hear but this had been decided when we did the reboot. I'm sorry that you may not like some of this but that's what we agreed upon. This story is already as big as it is with the reboot and what's to come.
Having things like Venom and the other Phase 4 properties come in would not only clutter the story even more so but take further focus away from what we've already established.
However… I want you guys to keep speculating. I've told you all this many times.
Most of what you have suggested has more than likely already been taken into consideration. So think more… creatively. Think outside the box or ahead of it. Get weird. Get crazy. I encourage it.
The fact that some of you guys jumped to Knull as a possible appearance gives me hope that you will all be able to guess for what is to come.
In fact, someone already has guessed one of the craziest revelations in this story and that just made me giggle with a mad smile.
And to that one reviewer… uh… I'm a dude. In the name you know. Just saw that review and I'm like… It's the name. Free MAN Writer. But shwatevs.

Avengers Infinite Wars Chapter 74: Gods, Heroes and Monsters of Mortis
A spectacle would be an underwhelming means of describing what was happening.
Perhaps an extravaganza of power.
A showcase of immortals.
The power of the Cosmic and the thunder.
The Son, a Celestial born from the foundations of the universe, fought against Thor Odinson, the God of Thunder and Prince of Asgard.
Both combatants were aloft in the air, dark clouds swirling around them with thunder and lightning crackling on all sides.
With the all-powerful Mjolnir in hand, the Mighty Thor was spinning his signature weapon at full speed as he flew like a bat out of hell right towards the Son who coincidentally shapeshifted into a bat-like monstrosity.
Like right now.
The Son violently flinched as the spinning hammer delivered a thunderstruck blow to the face, the Celestial flying down from the strike.
Thor moved to pursue, changing the course of Mjolnir in the Son's direction, thunder and lightning practically exploding around him. He rocketed forward at full speed with the sound of thunder booming in his wake. His hammer collided with the gut of the Son, the Celestial being let out a strangled gasp of pain and agony, reverting back to his humanoid form.
Despite his pain, the Son glared venomously at the God and smacked his hand upon Thor's forehead. A Force Repulse sent Thor flying back yet he righted himself in the air with Mjolnir spinning aloft whilst the Son transformed back into his bat-like form.
They paused in midair briefly before crackling with energy and lightning, flying at each other once more.
Their collision sent out a shockwave followed by a thunderclap that dispelled the clouds around them. What followed were a series of clashes and additional booming shockwaves all across the skies of Mortis.
The Son was vicious in his onslaught, calling more upon his Celestial power rather than just the Force yet found a match in Thor's unbridled fury.
The Son flexed his claws, electricity coursing around them as he pivoted over the hurtling missile that was Thor and latched onto his enemies shoulders. The Asgardian grunted, trying to free himself yet the Son's grasp held firm and he channeled dark side lightning through his claws into Thor's body.
Thor blinked before scoffing aloud.
"You truly are a fool, Celestial." He reared back Mjolnir and threw it at full force in the face of the bat monstrosity.
There was an emphatic *THUM* upon impact with the Son's head snapping all the way back and him releasing his hold on the Asgardian Prince.
Falling to the ground, Thor simply held his hand out and seconds later, Mjolnir returned to his grasp. He rocketed back up to the Son who had transformed back into his human form, a mass of shadows surrounding the humanoid.
"You have a great deal of nerve, cretin." The Son all but snarled, sparks shooting around him with some coming out of his eyes. "Coming into my domain, interfering with my plans-"
"Family quarrels aren't all that special, Celestial." Thor countered, cutting the darksider off with a casual tone. "We all have our spats between siblings and parents."
The Son paused for a moment, gazing at the God with an analytical eye. "How do you know of us? We have been hidden away for thousands of years. Few know of our existence."
"My father is Odin, King of Asgard." Thor proudly proclaimed. "He has centuries of lost knowledge. Including knowledge of you."
"I would have found that impressive if not for your annoying interference."
"If you have issues, then make them stop."
Hearing the challenge, the Son roared as they resumed their fight.
And upon contact, they blurred into the thunderous clouds with a magnificent lightshow following soon after.
As this battle raged on, those spectating below could only watch on in wide eyed wonder and terror.
It was an astonishing display of power as the two beings clashed violently with each other, sending out booming shockwaves, one after the other. Neither showed any instance of giving ground or air in this instance to their enemy and the fighting only ramped up with every passing second.
Thor and the Son were blurs at several points, the two barely visible figures either passing by one another or bashing into each other before pulling back. Thunder and lightning crackled across the skies, multiple areas in the skies above having swirling clouds form.
The battle was a spectacle for the eyes with those watching at a momentary loss as to what to say or do in this instance.
All but two.
"Ahsoka." Peter Parker softly said, cradling the unmoving body of his dear friend with her Master on her other side.
The two looked down at her veiny, pale body, almost not believing what they were looking at.
The vibrant, outgoing, snarky but kindhearted and selfless Ahsoka… dead…
"No." Anakin's fists clenched tightly together, his whole body shaking. "No, no, no, please."
Tears were welling up in his eyes before they freely began to fall as he reached out to grasp her lifeless hands and felt nothing but a cold touch.
"Please." He whispered desperately. "Not again, please."
He felt a presence standing close to him and turned to see that it was the Father, having finally turned away from the duel between the Son and the God of Thunder.
Behind him stood the Daughter with T'challa, Vision and Obi-wan also now looking solely at them despite the intense battle between the two gods going on in the background.
"You have to save her." Anakin practically pleaded.
The Father's response was only to sag his shoulders, shaking his head as he looked away.
"No." Peter whispered upon seeing this. "You can't just give up! She can be saved, she can be!"
"Is there truly nothing you can do?" T'challa questioned softly, not taking his eyes off the unmoving Padawan.
"This is my Son's doing." Spoke the Father, bowing his head with his eyes closed. "There's nothing that can be done."
"Nothing?" Anakin was now desperate. "There's really nothing you can do?"
The Father looked away with the Avengers and Jedi only becoming more distraught at his silent response.
It seemed as though Ahsoka was truly gone.
…
"No." Said a soft yet firm female voice.
Everyone turned to the Daughter who walked forward and kneeled down to where Ahsoka's head was and placed a hand over the Togruta's forehead. She closed her eyes and her ethereal glow brightened momentarily.
"Yes, we can still save her." The Daughter declared, all now solely focused on her.
"We can?" Vision whispered, almost as if this may be a farce.
"This is my brother's doing." The Daughter plainly stated. "His corruption, a tainted touch over this young girl whose life force is slowly being drained. But I can counteract it."
Upon hearing this, the Fathers' eyes snapped open in the direction of his Daughter.
"No! You can't. Doing so can upset the balance!"
"I must Father." The Daughter said with a forlorn expression. "It is in my nature. And is it not our own fault? We, who brought such suffering upon them? Why must they suffer for our hubris and fracturing?"
The Father had his mouth open yet no words were able to come from him, the cosmic being unable to form any form of a counter before sagging his shoulders.
"Very well, my dear." The Father acquiesced.
Anakin, all the while, looked at the Daughter intensely.
"Can you really save her?" His voice was basically begging now.
The Daughter nodded, getting into a more comfortable position on her knees as she gestured for Peter to set Ahsoka down, which he did.
The female Celestial looked towards Skywalker. "I will need your help in making this happen."
Anakin nodded as he knelt beside his padawan and awaited further instruction.
The Daughter soon looked towards another individual amongst them. "And yours as well."
This earned both surprise and confusion when this was spoken towards Spider-man.
"Wait, what?" He jolted slightly, shaking his head. "Why me? I don't have any mambo jumbo powers that could-"
"It is because of what you are will make a greater difference on what will occur." The Daughter stated. "The transferring of one's life energy is a delicate matter, one that requires the donor, a transfer and the anchor."
*CRRRAAAA-KRRROOOOOM*
T'Challa warily turned his head to the sky. "I believe we should not delay any further."
Everyone nodded at that with the three individuals getting ready for whatever it was the Daughter was about to do.
She had Anakin and Peter reposition Ahsoka's body so that she would lay straight out in front of her with the former on her left and the latter on her right.
"H-hey, not to sound like a downer but what am I even supposed to do? Her anchor?" Peter was very much unsure as much as he was nervous. "What does that even mean?"
"Peter." Obi-Wan spoke up quietly, his pseudo-student turning to him. "Just… relax. And whatever happens, remember our training with your senses. Allow whatever comes to flow freely through you. You'll know what to do."
Spidey still didn't feel all that confident but nodded all the same, returning his gaze to Ahsoka. A second of staring at her lifeless eyes made him scrunch up in determination.
He breathed out heavily, locking eyes with Anakin and the two nodded, the silent gesture being the go ahead for the Daughter to begin her ritual.
Closing her eyes, she began by breathing in slow and measured breaths whilst raising her hands to the air. With every breath, her body briefly radiated with a brighter light, dimming slightly afterwards yet her glow was increasing with every passing breath.
This went on for several more seconds until she was practically a glowing pillar of pure light.
Vision, T'Challa and Obi-Wan had to either squint or shield their eyes slightly from the brightness.
The Father simply looked on, undisturbed by the light with a forlorn and remorseful gaze as he watched it all.
The Daughter, having garnered the necessary amount of power that she needed, reached both her hands out to the two men on either side of the Padawan.
Upon tapping Anakin's shoulder, the Jedi Knights head snapped upwards and his entire body was engulfed in the white light of the Daughter, only his was far more radiant. His entire body became a golden white, his irises disappearing into a pure white light. Skywalker's hands shot out to Ahsoka, one hovering over her head and the other her heart.
When Peter got tapped by the Daughter, he did not get the same glow as did Anakin and the Celestial.
But his eyes did glow a radiant whitish-blue with his own hand settling right over where Ahsoka's heart was. And this could be seen to a degree from his white lenses which spread out to the white decals of his black suit.
Both men were experiencing something indescribable.
For Anakin, it was as if he was at the very center of the Force.
The cosmic energy and flow of the universe danced and roared through him, enhancing every single sense that he had to its maximum potential only for those limits to be broken past.
This was unlike anything he had ever felt before.
This feeling… this sensation…
This was… this was Oneness.
Oneness with the Force.
He had heard of this ability, this power from many Jedi but so few if any had ever even come close to attaining this state of being. Either by vast years of training or a once-in-a-life encounter when trying to fight for survival.
It was… well, as stated before, indescribable.
He was experiencing all of time, all of space, all places, events, things. From the smallest atom to the largest cluster of stars, Anakin felt it all and concentrated all of it on Ahsoka.
Peter in the meantime was undergoing something entirely different.
Within his perspective, he couldn't quite explain it, but he felt as though he was swimming/falling through an endless abyss.
What was thi-
"Help!"
Peter's eyes widened as he recognized that voice instantly.
Ahsoka!
He may not have heard his own voice but he knows he said it.
Thrashing around, he tried concentrating on hearing her again but found he could not until-
"HELP!"
There she was again.
Where was she?!
'Dammit, what did she mean by… anchor…' Were Peter's thoughts as he continually moved despite feeling like he wasn't getting anywhere.
"Whatever happens, remember our training with your senses. Allow whatever comes to flow freely through you. You'll know what to do."
Obi-wan's words rung through the web head's mind.
He thought back to the purpose in which he was selected to be here.
To serve as Ahsoka's anchor.
Let it flow through you
He spoke without uttering a sound yet concentrated all the same.
Focusing on his surroundings, metaphysical asteroid-like debris began to appear all over. It would be from there would Peter use them to his advantage.
Reaching out, he fired off a webline to some floating object in the distance. Yanking himself forward, he began swinging about in order to locate his friend.
With every swing, the feeling of this surrounding pressure that prevented him from moving forward began to dissipate.
Was this because of him? No, it had to be someone else.
Could it be due to the Daughter… Anakin… or… his suit?
But how?
Getting back on track, he momentarily floated in seemingly nothing. His eyes were closed with all six of his senses outstretched.
There he was for a few more seconds until he felt it.
No… he felt her.
Eyes snapping open, Peter looked ahead and fired a single webline.
It seemingly broke through an invisible barrier, latching onto something on the other side.
With a strong tug of the web line, Ahsoka's body was pulled out from the abyss and right into Peters' arms.
"Ahsoka." He said in utter relief, holding her bridal style as she didn't respond at first until she twitched slightly.
At first, she was as he saw her last, deathly pale with black veins all across her body.
Yet the moment he had her in his arms, the veins began to fade and the bright orange skin tone she always had begun to come back.
He can see her eyes moving beneath her eyelids and a few seconds later, she opens them, revealing the crystal blue eyes Peter has come to know and… *cough* well… yeah, he loves 'em, who was he kidding by this point.
At least they weren't the creepy yandere Sith yellow she had previously.
The young Padawan appeared dazed and confused for a moment before her eyes landed upon the boy holding her.
"Peter?" she whispered and that was all that was said before their surroundings were engulfed in a radiant light, encompassing them both.
Outside of the mental/spiritual plane…
The Togruta's body slowly regained a healthier color with the black veins receding back.
Nothing happened then after, only stillness and-
*Cough* *Cough* *Cough*
-a sudden jolt, having Ahsoka lurch to the side as she started to regain oxygen back within her lungs.
"Whoa there." Spoke a familiar voice to the Padawan. "Easy now Ahsoka. You've been through quite an ordeal."
"That's an understatement." Said another, much younger voice but one that brought a great deal of comfort to the Jedi.
"Give her some room."
Ahsoka managed to get herself up slightly, remaining seated on the ground as she slowly regained her bearings.
Though her vision was blurry, the first thing she saw was an overwhelmingly overjoyed and relieved Anakin Skywalker looking at her with a teary eyed smile.
"M-Master?"
Her Master laughed softly as he hugged his padawan.
Pulling away, he gave her a loving, brotherly smile. "Hey, Snips."
Confusion reigned all over her as she looked towards her Jedi master to the others around her. The last she gazed upon was Peter, who's black mask seemed to have receded back… somehow to show his reddened eyes.
"W-What's… going on?" She asked, her voice rather dry.
"Do you want the dreary version or the version where you're alive and well?" Obi-Wan couldn't help but ask.
"That's only confusing me more." Ahsoka remarked, eliciting laughs from the others.
That ended when they heard a heavy sigh and all turned to see the Daughter breathing heavily on her hands and knees with the Father at her side.
Her radiant glow dimmed significantly, to the point where she's no longer a literal night light.
Despite it all, she looked up at Ahsoka with a relieved smile. Her Father couldn't hide his own fondness for what his child had done even with the evident pain in his eyes.
Before Ahsoka was able to further ask as to what exactly happened a mighty thump was heard nearby, making others look towards the source.
A man that the Padawan found oddly familiar which was strange. She had never met this newcomer before but… why did he look like she had seen him from somewhere before?
"Did you get him?" Asked Vision.
"No, the Son has fled." Spoke one with a disgruntled yet somehow boisterous voice.
Gazing at the man intently, Ahsoka blinked several times. She rubbed her eyes slightly before looking at the figure once more.
Her eyes glossed over his garments, his hair, his red cape and the hammer in his hand that was humming with power.
Ahsoka's eyes began to widen as she soon recognized who was standing in front of her.
She had been shown his image several times in the past from the other Avengers. They had all shown them images of the other members they had yet to meet.
This individual right here.
She looked between the other three Avengers present. "Wait… is that-"
Peter nodded, helping her get back up to her feet. "Yeup."
She wobbled slightly yet had her eyes firmly set upon the God of Thunder. "...But… how?"
"We're just as confused as you are." Panther answered with a shake of his head.
"As am I." Said Thor, who overheard part of the conversation as he walked closer. "How is it that you are here, Vision? Shouldn't you be back on Earth?"
"Circumstances led us here in this remote part of the universe." Vision answered in an unsure manner. "Circumstances beyond our control."
Thor only nodded slowly, eyes glancing over to the two Avengers clad in black. "And whom might these two be? I am certainly familiar with the Black Panthers of Wakanda but you young one I had never met before."
It was at this moment that the last few minutes were momentarily forgotten by the young New York hero as he began stammering and stuttering all while having stars in his eyes at being so close to a founding member of the Avengers.
"P-Parker Pete- I mean uh Spider-Parker, wait no, that's wrong." The teen kept tripping over his words, his excitement overriding his ability to speak normally.
"This," Vision intervened, an amused smile now for all to see as he placed a hand upon Peter's shoulder. "Is Peter Parker. Otherwise known as Spider-man. And he, like Prince T'challa here, is one of the newest members to the Avengers."
A look of surprise marred Thor's features upon hearing this. "Truly? Huh, I suppose I have been away from Earth for too long."
Black Panther placed a hand over his chest, bowing slightly. "It is an honor to be considered amongst your rankings, Thor Odinson."
The God of Thunder only laughed heartily. "Then it is good to hear that our number of defenders continues to grow in spite of my absence and wherever evil may rear its head. I welcome you both, my new comrades."
"Ahem."
The four Avengers turned to Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi who held both a bemused and expectant expression.
"Wonderful as this reunion and first meeting are, we do have rather more pressing matters at hand."
"Oh right, right, evil Son guy and all." Peter said, slapping the side of his head.
Ahsoka rolled her eyes, lips tugging upwards with Anakin snorting for a moment until all heard a disgruntled sigh.
Now everyone's attention was turned to the Father and Daughter, the latter of whom was back on her feet though she had yet to regain her usual radiant glow.
The patriarch and ruler of Mortis had his attention focused on the sole tree within the courtyard of the Son's tower.
He watched as the tree wilted, white particles appearing before they were blown away by a rather sinister wind that seemingly came from nowhere.
The Force user, no, both Jedi and Avengers felt a sudden shift in the air itself with a clear shared feeling of uncomfortableness between them all.
"What…" Anakin almost hesitated to ask. "What's happening?"
"As the balance of this world crumbles, so shall it affect everything in your galaxy." Said the Father, which started to unsettle everyone in varying degrees. "As my son has descended and begun cementing into the Dark Side, so have the Sith gained strength."
"Wait, what about your Daughter?" Ahsoka asked, going over to the woman who had now kneeled in front of the tree with her head lowered and hands clasped together in prayer. "Are you alright ma'am?"
The Daughter only looked up to give the Togruta a weak and earnest smile.
"The Light has waned in strength but… so long as you all keep fighting, it will never die out." She confidently stated despite her voice losing a great deal of the power it once held.
"What exactly did you do?" Obi-wan was unable to help himself in asking this. "How did you bring Ahsoka back?"
"You mentioned transferring Life Energy, yes?" Viz brought up with the Daughter nodding in confirmation.
"The corruption my brother implanted within young Ahsoka here was deep seated with it having practically latched onto her very soul in a way." The Daughter, in a rather surprising motion, raised her hand to tenderly graze her hand over Ahsoka's cheek. "But I couldn't allow that. Now, a part of the Light, the true Light now resides within you my dear. The Dark Side will have a difficult time in ever reaching you if at all."
Well that was certainly one way of stunning a Padawan into complete silence.
"However, it has come at a cost." The Father stated, tone grim with demeanor to match. "In my Daughters' noble selflessness, it has left the galaxy in a state of unbalance. My Son's power is now growing exponentially with no one to truly challenge him."
"Uh, did you miss the part with Thor smashing his hammer into your Son's face?" Peter asked, pointing with both index fingers at the Thunder God.
The Father shook his head. "A temporary obstacle."
"He's a hell of an obstacle." Anakin wryly said with his arms crossed.
Kenobi then stepped forward. "If you have such concerns then we will stop your son."
"No. You must go now." The Father soon explained his reason. "He needs your ship to easily leave the planet. You must leave before he can take it. If not…"
"Can you please just stop with those cliffhangers?" Peter whined. "We know things are gonna get worse if the Son escapes."
"What about you two?" Obi-Wan asked, the Father looking back to his Daughter.
"We must stay to keep the balance maintained as best as possible. If not-"
"Yeah, we get it." Anakin interrupted the Father, now very much annoyed.
Without much else to say, everyone but the Celestials made their departure from the Son's tower and made their way to the Republic shuttle.
Things were relatively quick, to a degree, in getting to the crashed ship.
"This might take a while." Anakin bemoaned, looking up at the ship. "Jeez Viz, did ya have to grab onto the top like that?"
The synthetic Avenger had the decency to look a bit sheepish upon seeing the chunk he had torn out when he first tried preventing them from crashing.
"Apologies." Vision said. "I should have known to control my strength a bit better."
"It's nothing we can't handle." Obi-Wan stated. "At the very least, we should at least be able to fix the main functions of our ship. Come on, let's not waste any time."
"But what about the Son?" Ahsoka asked, a bit nervous at the thought of him.
"I'm fairly certain our newest friend here is more than capable of holding him off." Skywalker declared with a smug grin, giving Thor an appreciative pat on the back.
The God simply nodded, matching the Jedi's smug grin with one of his own before he turned his attention back to his teammates.
"Now then, I can imagine we all have much to discuss." He plainly stated, getting T'challa and Peter to snort at the same time.
"That's an understatement." The Prince of Wakanda remarked.
"Gotta ask this now, but how'd you get over here Mr. Thor?" Peter asked excitedly whilst taking several tools Ahsoka held out to him for him to help with repairs.
Thor rubbed his chin in thought. "I'm not sure if the others ever went over this. Tell me, how familiar are you with the details of how I returned to Earth prior to the Chitauri invasion?"
The Wakandan and New Yorker both shrugged at the same time whilst Vision crossed his arms in thought.
"I do recall from previous mission files recovered from SHIELD's collapse about how you used an alternative method due to the original intended path having been destroyed." Viz mused aloud. "The Bifrost, yes?"
Thor nodded. "That is correct. Originally, with the Bifrost having been destroyed at that point in time, my father had to utilize his own power mixed with the Dark Magics of our people to bring me to Earth when Loki was found once more."
"So you had to do so again for this instance?" T'Challa surmised though the reaction of Thor closing one eye and tilting his head to the side in a 'kinda' fashion said otherwise.
"It was not as "easy" or simple really as it was last time." Thor said, directing his gaze to the darkened skies above. "This place, this realm is one of a kind and truly something rare and special. A powerful Nexus point that is both a palace and a prison of power. I had to resort to using the Bifrost, Heimdall's sight and much dark magic in reaching this place. It was only possible due to this planet being a powerful nexus."
"Is it cause of the three Celestials here?" Ahsoka asked, popping out from the floor compartment to the lower interior of the ship.
"That and Mortis itself is… well, difficult to describe." Thor said with a frown. "It is the only visible spot in this entire galaxy that was seen clearly by Heimdall."
"What does that mean?" Obi-Wan inquired with obvious intrigue.
The idea of being able to leave the galaxy and seeing other forms of life, culture and civilizations out there… The Avengers were proof of that.
Maybe…
Actually…
"Is Earth in this galaxy?" Peter asked, something that has been weighing on his and really all the Avengers' and many Jedis' minds.
"What?" Thor quirked a brow. "No, of course not. If it were, Heimdall would have had no problem in locating all of you and telling me so I would be able to bring you all back. No, this galaxy is far, FAR away."
"How far?" Anakin said.
Thor shrugged. "Couple million… billion… let's just say there's a lot of zeros for the light years apart."
"But you got here eas-well, not easily from what you're saying, but you still got here." Skywalker countered.
"Yes, but that was due to a litany of reasons." Thor said in return. "This galaxy is unique, isolated and rather intentionally cut off from the rest of the universe judging from what Heimdall was able to discern."
All this served to further confuse all in attendance. "What does that mean?"
"In part of this galaxy, there's a litany of black holes and a strange barrier… all jumbled together and making it truly difficult to come in and out. I don't know why such a cosmic manifestation came to be. Rather unusual." Thor mused aloud.
"Huh…" Anakin crossed his arms now. "I feel like we might be here a while if we delve into this topic."
"I don't think we'll be going anywhere anytime soon until our ship is repaired." T'Challa pointed out.
"I can have Heimdall get us out of here." Thor frowned. "Although… he is undoubtedly still resting from his use of the Dark Magic. And if we were to use the Tesseract… unwanted attention may be attracted to Asgard."
"Let's simply keep watch for now." T'Challa said. "I feel that the Son is waiting for his time to strike again."
As the adults kept an eye out for the Son, the two teens were working through the ship to see what could be done on the repairs.
There was a flash of thunder, followed by rain yet it stopped just as quickly.
"Whoa." Ahsoka murmured.
"What?" Peter turned to her. "Weather getting to ya?"
"It was clear, cloudy, rainy, thundering and clear again in the span of three seconds." The Togruta pointed out. "I felt something from it. That was all the work of the Force yet it was dispelled."
"Well we do have the God of Thunder, storms, etc. with us now." Peter stated. "He could clear a cloud or bring the thunder whenever he wants."
"Yeah, don't remind me." Ahsoka muttered. "Feels weird meeting him after all this time when you and the others talked about him for so long. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that he's a God."
"Welcome to our world." Peter cheekily said, nudging her shoulder. "You guys have seen some crazy stuff but the impossible is commonplace on Earth. And it'll only get weirder from what my gut is telling me."
Ahsoka only shot him an amused look before her eyes glanced down at his now black suit.
"Say, I've been meaning to ask. What's with the new suit?"
"Oh this?" Peter patted his chest with a cocky grin that changed into one of uncertainty. "Yeah, I have no idea. I found it in the Son's tower when I was looking for you."
"That was in the Son's domain?" Ahsoka was now on edge. "Wait, then… What if it's like something from the Dark Side? Something that can be used to corrupt you?"
"I thought about that too but don't you remember? I don't have the Force like you do. And," He looked down at the now white spider-emblem on his chest. "My sixth sense didn't go off around it. Not a warning of any kind. I think this slime or whatever it is was being held captive by The Son."
"And you were its way out." Ahsoka murmured.
She was a bit conflicted now. The Son was no friend of theirs with the way he treated them, now more than ever since he gave himself over to the Dark Side. So maybe whatever this living thing was was being held captive by the Son for his own twisted amusement.
But at the same time…
"Wait, something feels a bit weird." Ahsoka scrunched up her face, making Peter face her. "I've been feeling… I dunno… is Lighter a word I can use here?"
"The Daughter did say she put a part of herself in you to cleanse her brother's influence. Perhaps a residue effect."
"Maybe… How did that happen? Feels like I'm forgetting, well, a lot really."
Peter was silent for a few moments until he let out a tired sigh.
"Ahsoka." He said in complete seriousness, gaining her complete attention.
"Yeah, Peter?"
He cleared his throat. "Can we talk?"
"About what?" She asked, getting a bit worried at seeing Peter appear so conflicted.
"About earlier…" Peter trailed off for a moment. "Do you remember… anything when you were under the Son's control? Like anything at all?"
Tano frowned whilst straining herself mentally. "I… I can't remember much. All I can recall were a whirlwind of emotions I was experiencing. It was so hard to describe."
"Do you remember feeling anything in particular?"
Ahsoka paused for a moment as she thought about it. "Yes. Pain… and fear. And then a want to be dominated… for some reason, but also dominating others and… and…"
It was at that point Ahsoka felt her face heat up considerably with her squirming.
"Whoa, what was that?" Peter said in surprise. "Are you ok?"
"Yes, yes, fine, perfectly fine." Ahsoka quickly responded, breathing a bit frantically, hand on her head. "Just… trying to get my thoughts together."
Peter wanted to ask what it was that was troubling her but he may or may not have an idea as to what it may be and frankly, he still wasn't sure as to how exactly he should tackle it. Ahsoka appeared to be in the same boat however she seems to still be unable to remember everything.
Maybe that was for the best.
Or maybe it wasn't.
'Ah man.' Peter mentally felt like slapping his hand over his forehead, feeling a rueful sense of amusement. 'Uncle Ben and Aunt May were right. Love is complicated.'
As the two continued their inspection and patchwork of the ship, Anakin was pacing around outside the ship.
"If you keep going my friend, I fear you may walk a trench into existence." T'Challa commented.
Their discussion with Thor had been momentarily placed on hold to figure out their next course of action whilst they still remained here on Mortis.
Outside of the factor with their ticket out of here, there wasn't much to do otherwise.
Each pondered more and more on the Son and his capabilities. Despite what each has seen of the dark Celestial, they knew there was more to him to a frightening degree.
"You shouldn't be so troubled right now, Anakin." Obi-wan said in an attempt to calm his former Padawan. "You did well despite what had transpired. Tell me, how do you feel?"
Anakin exhaled a sigh. "I'm not sure we're doing the right thing by leaving now." His gaze seemed to go a little distant. "The Son is consumed by the Dark Side."
"And if we stay, we may be used to his advantage."
"And if we try to leave, he'll undoubtedly try to do everything in his power to keep us here." Vision counteracted.
"Not if I have anything to say about it." Thor declared, lightning crackling around his hammer and body.
"Still, we must remain vigilant." T'Challa firmly stated. "The Son's power has grown exponentially in a short amount of time. He has a greater degree of control now over this realm. He can use that against us."
"That is worrisome."
"Yet all that power could be his downfall." Kenobi countered.
"What of the Dagger? We could still use that." Vision inquired.
"I didn't see it." Anakin said. "Do you think the Son has it?"
Panther shook his head. "The Father and Daughter have it. In Thor's ensuing battle with him, during his first strike, he dropped the Dagger and the Father collected it and placed it away within his robes. The Son doesn't have it."
"For now." Vision murmured with obvious concern.
Just before they were able to discuss it any further, Peter and Ahsoka walked out from the ship.
"Ok," Peter clapped his hands together in false excitement. "We've got bad news and really bad news. Which one do you wanna hear first?"
Obi-wan rolled his eyes at that, giving Peter a slight fond look. This reminded him greatly of Anakin's younger years as a Padawan.
"Well, let's try the bad news, laced with a little optimism."
"We've got two cracked Shilo pins, a busted power converter, the engines should be fired twice to dump debris, and the backup vents need recharging." Ahsoka rattled off.
"Sounds terribly downbeat." Commented the Jedi Master. Seeing Ahsoka jump into the floor's opening, he continued. "Can it be fixed?"
"We can reroute the primary initiator, weld the dampening vents, and that might give us enough power to leave the atmosphere. After that, I have no guarantees she'll hold together."
"We'll take our chances. Better than staying here."
"You sure you can't fly us out, Mr. Thor?" Peter asked.
"Can any of you breathe in space?"
"I can." Vision chimed in.
"I believe my suit makes it capable." T'Challa said.
"Same here." Peter raised his hand.
"I'll need to check if we have something in the ship for that." Obi-wan sarcastically said.
As this small discussion went on, Anakin disappeared into the ship for the briefest of moments, only to walk out with a speeder.
His Padawan was the first to see this. "Master? Where are you going?"
"To see the Father and Daughter." Anakin soon explained his reason. "I'm not convinced that the Son will be contained here without our help. Perhaps we should make a stand."
"Anakin-"
"If I don't get their blessing to leave, it'll haunt me forever." Skywalker stressed out.
Obi-wan exhaled a sigh. "As much as I'd like to go by yourself, which is rather unlikely, you need someone with you. The Son is after you most of all and would do anything to have you by his side."
"I will come with you." Thor declared, stepping forward. "I myself have my own reasons for being here. The Father is more than likely to know as to what it is I seek."
"Well if Thor is going then I guess Anakin is in more secure hands." T'Challa said, pondering on this matter.
"But what about the ship-"
"The rest of us here will be more than enough." Vision declared.
"But Vision." Peter was unsure about this. "If the Son comes and… well, your stone-"
Viz cut the teen off by placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. "That's why I trust you all in making sure that doesn't happen."
And with that, the pair walked away from the group whilst they resumed their watch and repair of the ship.
As this went on, the Father and Daughter stood atop a tall hill that overlooked a valley of other smaller hills with many monoliths and stones over each mound.
"It has been so long since we graced our presence here." The Daughter said, a melancholy smile in place. "Our fallen deserve to have their respects paid, no?"
Her Father said nothing in return, only silently looking out at the valley of burial grounds, a forlorn and longing gaze.
"This was once her garden, was it not?" He said, a faraway look in his eyes, tone reminiscent. "You and your Mother used to bring a plant back from every planet you would find and have a spot for them ready and waiting. You even convinced your Brother to come join you a few times, deny it as he may."
The Daughters expression fell slightly, her smile now saddened and pained.
"Yes." Her eyes became glossed over, reaching up with her fingers to wipe a tear that was about to fall. "Our first plant from Tython was right… there…"
She pointed at a mound that had a dual sided pyramid floating above it, this particular hill being the second largest of the valley save for the one The Father and Daughter stood upon.
"We were so much happier then." The Father, for the first time in what seemed like an eternity to his Daughter, sounded defeated and broken. "So much simplicity, love and joy before… before what happened."
From the sleeves of his robes, the Father pulled out the Dagger, staring at it in remorse and spite.
"And now, once again with my actions-"
"Father you can't-"
"I can and I will!" He cut his daughter off forcefully, sounding haggard.
Rather than recoiling or even reacting negatively to her Father's snap, she only reached up to delicately place a hand upon his cheek.
"It's not your fault, Father." She gently told him.
He only shook his head, taking her hand and lowering it.
"Oh, but it is, my child. Can you not see the pattern repeating itself once again?"
The Father turned his gaze back to the valley of burial mounds, looking down at the dagger briefly before back up.
"Arrogance, hubris, ambition, a want to prove to others and to myself that our method was the correct one." He sighed, shaking his head with a self-deprecating manner. "We reap what we sow unto ourselves and now… I threaten this galaxy with my Son's rampage."
The Daughter only turned her head downward, a deep frown of regret and sorrow lacing her air and posture.
"I beg for your forgiveness, Daughter." His voice was laced with pain and self-loathing. "I am nothing more than an old fool now who still believes to be able to predict and perhaps even control the future. Now everything teeters on the brink of collapse, chaos, ruin and death."
"Is it really too late for us Father?" She quietly spoke, voice barely above a whisper. "Are we truly to spend our eternity here for our past transgressions until this universe grows dark, lifeless and cold?"
The Father was silent, unable to think of a proper response when they heard a crack of thunder.
Looking up, both were slightly surprised to see Thor descend from on high with Anakin in his other arm, the Jedi slightly stumbling away from the God.
"Jeez." He said, hair a bit frazzled. "Ya could have warned me about flying off like that."
"I did warn you to hang on." Thor plainly said with a shrug.
Anakin only rolled his eyes at the response. "You could have also just told me to leave the speeder behind and we'll fly."
"Now why would I do that when I get to hear you scream like a girl?" Thor cheekily asked.
The Jedi Knight deadpanned at the God, ignoring the two slightly bewildered Celestials until the Father cleared his throat.
"I would have thought you all would have departed by now."
"What and miss all these vistas?" Anakin sarcastically rebuked. "No, you know why we're here."
"I have an idea as to why you're here." The Father said, slowly walking towards them. "But I still haven't the foggiest of why you are."
"I have been on a journey since my departure from Earth." Thor said in complete seriousness. "I'm not sure if you are aware but in the past eight years now, five of the six Infinity Stones have made themselves known to the Universe at large. Mind, Power, Reality, Time and Space."
The Father hummed, a clearly disgruntled look upon his face. "So, it is as I feared. I had hoped these to be anomalies but I was only fooling myself. For five of the six to be revealed after so long… I fear what is to come in the future."
"What do you know of the Infinity Stones?" Thor asked straight away. "The fact that so many have revealed themselves is troublesome to say the least with many being too close of proximity to each other."
"I am surprised you do not know more of them." The Father admitted.
"I only know of what is common knowledge in the universe." The Asgardian stated. "But as to the whereabouts of the final Stone, I have only rumors and old transcripts to go off of."
"Pursuing the Stones is a dangerous endeavor." The Father warned, tone grave. "To go after a single Stone sets a target not only upon what you seek but you yourself will also have contention to deal with."
Thor simply shrugged. "Nothing I cannot face when the time comes."
"That is a dangerous mindset to be had, God of Thunder." The Daughter spoke up. "The Stones are not matters to be trivialized."
Thor became more serious now, a grim visage for the Celestials and Jedi to see.
"I am well aware of the dangers that they possess, Daughter of the stars." Thor remarked. "It is why I seek knowledge of them. The Soul Stone is the last of the Six that have yet to make itself known. In terms of where it is hidden, even Asgard's library has no knowledge of its whereabouts. Only that it spoke of the three that guard the maw. It took Heimdall many moons and suns to locate this place."
"Your journey has taken you far, Prince of Asgard." The Father said. "To come here with your home being on the far side of the Universe compared to where we reside is quite a feat."
Thor ignored all the empty chatter and cut through to the point of him being here. "Do you know of the Soul Stone's whereabouts?"
"Its location is to be kept secret, along with how to obtain it."
"I doubt it should be complicated." Anakin spoke aloud. "Either way, I mean."
"Finding it is the easy part, the other isn't." The Daughter stated.
"Do you know of its location?" Thor asked.
The Father nodded. "I do, but I cannot say."
Anakin groaned aloud. "Really? That is the most generic, cliche thing you could possibly say. Why can't you tell us, huh? Some overlord or is it cause of the Force?"
"The reason why I cannot is due to Arishem."
"And who is this Arishem?"
"The prime Celestial, the Judge. He rules over all Celestials across the vast cosmos. It is the punishment that we continue to endure for my past transgressions." The Father's frown deepened. "One my Son wishes to escape from."
"And what will you do about it?" Anakin asked, becoming tense at the mention of the Dark Side User. "He has given himself fully to the Dark Side."
"Yes." The Father's shoulder sagged slightly. "In my blinded hope and arrogance, once again, my actions threaten the stability of this galaxy. Even worse, maybe even the Universe itself."
"Once again, I gotta ask, but what are you gonna do? Nothing?"
"I must finally take action for my mistakes and…" The Father closed his eyes, face conveying clear pain in what he was about to say. "I must kill my Son."
The Daughter gasped in horror. "Father! You can't!"
"What?" Anakin was bewildered by this. "But he was ready to kill you both. How can you defend him?"
"I told this to your Master. It's simply in my nature. Selfish and spiteful as my brother is, my deference is to be selfless and love him all the same despite our conflict." The Daughter said, words conveying total sincerity. "And it's not just because I love him. He holds a responsibility that the both of us must adhere to. To keep that which is kept within the Maw at bay."
Thor and Anakin shared a look before the former asked on behalf of the two.
"And just what is being kept in the… what was it you called it? The Maw? Where even is that?"
"It is a cluster of black holes in the Kessel Sector of the Outer Rim." The Father answered the God. "A place that only the suicidal would travel to. But that is not what we are here to discuss. We must find the means of stopping my Son from escaping Mortis. If he can't get to your ship then he'll resort to other means and that may draw… unwanted attention."
'Jeez, cryptic is this guy's first language.' Anakin derisively thought, shaking his head as pushed his curiosity aside as to what the Father meant by that and focused back on why he was here.
"You guys treated that knife that Obi-Wan brought seriously enough." Skywalker said thoughtfully. "Obi-wan said it can kill the Son."
"It can." The Daughter confirmed.
"Would you give us this Dagger?" Thor inquired.
The Father proceeded to produce the Dagger in his hands once again, looking down at it intently.
After a few moments of staring at it, he held it out with both his hands for Anakin, the Jedi delicately taking it out of his hands.
"My Son will try to take that from you."
"Well aware of that." Anakin dryly said, examining it from all sides. "Where can we find your Son anyway? Pretty sure he won't just waltz back to his domain after what happened back there?"
"You are the Chosen One, are you not?" The Father said with a smirk. "This place is strong with the Force. Use it, let it flow through your body and soul and it shall be your guide."
Anakin gave one last look at the Father before nodding at him then at the Daughter before turning to leave with Thor following after him.
"Are you sure it is wise for them to go after my brother?" The Daughter worriedly asked.
"It is time I stop taking things into my hands and allow for things to take whatever path will come." The Father stated. "My interference has caused enough harm to the galaxy."
His Daughter didn't respond, looking ahead of the two walking away from them.
She felt her heart clench up in fear and worry for what they were headed towards yet remained by her Father's side. She could only place her faith in them and hope for the best.
"So is the Force telling you anything on directions?"
Anakin snorted. "That's not how the Force works."
"Doesn't it? Stretching out and feeling it flow until pointing where you need to go."
"No… well… kinda, yes, no wait, no, I mean… Honestly, the Force can be confusing sometimes." Anakin admitted. "I just wing it."
"Ah, an old Earth adage." Thor approved "lightly" slapping the Jedi on the back, practically sending him stumbling to the floor. "I am known to do the same and it's a prerequisite skill for all Avengers."
"I don't know if that should be a compliment or a backhanded one at that." Anakin said, chuckling slightly.
'This is the God of Thunder?' He couldn't help but to think to himself.
He had only heard tales of this founding member of the Avengers from his friends of the same team. About how he wielded a mighty hammer, commanded the elements themselves and was one of, if not, the strongest Avenger next to Vision and Hulk.
For him to be a casual, if not jester like individual… well, not entirely like a jester but still.
He would have thought a God to be more serious or regal in demeanor.
At least he got the whole power aspect of it down. That entrance and his duel with the Son was something to behold. Had it not been for the more pressing matter of bringing Ahsoka back, Anakin would have wanted to watch the entire fight between the two.
"So what then, I know I said to wing it but going up against the Son feels like we should at least have some form of a plan." Anakin said.
"Perhaps I can serve as a distraction." Thor suggested. "With my strength, I can keep him busy long enough for you to get in close and use that Dagger to deliver the killing blow."
"I don't think it'll be all that simple." Skywalker admitted, more to himself than to Thor.
"Nothing seldom ever is…"
Both men tensed up in preparation for anything that would come their way until Anakin's mind registered the voice that he had just heard.
That voice… It sounded so familiar.
Where had he heard that voice before?
Thor, however, displayed none of Anakin's hesitation.
"Whomever you are, show yourself." Thor all but demanded, electricity crackling around Mjolnir. "Lest you face the wrath of Thor Odinson and Anakin Skyson."
Whatever trepidation was practically derailed upon hearing the Thunder God stated his name in such a manner.
"What'd you just call me?" Anakin asked in amused bewilderment.
"Skyson?" The disembodied voice said, this time being much clearer than before. "Rather an amusing name, if not appropriate given how often you fall from the skies."
Both men now tensed up again as a silvery-white fog blew in from seemingly nowhere in front of them until coalescing into a single spot. The fog began to take shape, condensing and molding together into a humanoid figure until…
"You truly have become strong, Anakin." The man who had come from the fog spoke in clear approval and pride. "Just as I believed you would."
Anakin Skywalker nearly dropped his lightsaber upon seeing who it was.
Thor remained tense yet his threatening demeanor lessened upon sensing the aura given off by this apparition.
"Master Qui-Gon?" The brown haired Jedi Knight couldn't believe it. "Is it… is it really you?"
"Indeed it is, Anakin." Qui-Gon said, walking towards the stunned Force User, taking a moment to look at Thor. "Thor Odinson. Welcome to our galaxy. A pleasure to meet someone as powerful and renowned as yourself."
"You know of me?" Thor said in slight surprise.
"One discovers much when surrendering yourself to the Power Cosmic that binds the very universe itself."
"But how are you here, Master?" Anakin murmured, still in slight shock at seeing the Jedi Master who helped free him from his chains on Tatooine.
"I told Obi-Wan that this place is special, a nexus in the Force which has allowed me to manifest myself far more clearly here than most other places." Jinn revealed. "And I am also here with a purpose. And that is to see if you are ready."
"Ready?" That certainly befuddled the live Jedi. "Ready for what?"
"Ready to face your demons, that which you fear to lose and fear to become." Qui-Gon stated, his expression conveying a calmness that didn't match his intense words. "I believe in you even if you do not believe in yourself. You have grown strong in the Force as I knew you would. And it is with that strength that you will be able to achieve your destiny in beating back the coming darkness."
Anakin was clearly conflicted by this, unsure as to what that could possibly mean.
"Are you referring to the Son?" He asked the spirit who only let out a small hum.
"He is but a facet of the grander picture, Anakin." Qui-Gon then stunned Skywalker by reaching forward and placing a solid hand upon his shoulder. "What you need to do Anakin is look deeper within yourself, trust your instincts, never lose faith in your friends and comrades and hold strong."
And of course, in cliche fashion, Qui-Gon's spirit faded away, leaving a confused and frankly lost Jedi Knight who wanted to ask so much more.
The air was silent until Thor broke it with an overwhelmingly annoyed sigh.
"Typical of spirits." The Asgardian wryly remarked. "Always cryptic and unable to give a straight answer lest it has to deal with some internal struggle."
Much as Anakin wanted to defend his first unofficial master, he didn't really find the means in which to do so. He was honestly as frustrated as the thunderer was so he dropped his argument.
"Urgh." Anakin brought a hand up to massage his forehead to fight back against a growing migraine. "Why can't it ever be simple?"
Thor snorted, lightly slapping the Jedis back. "The universe seldom ever allows for simplicity. It's best we work with what we get and make do from there."
"Easy for you to say Mr. God of Thunder." The brown robed Jedi shot back. "You've got centuries on your side in doing that."
"And it feels oh-so good." Thor remarked without an ounce of shame, getting Skywalker to roll his eyes at the God.
As Thor opened his mouth to speak once again, the God abruptly became startlingly serious. His head snapped forward, setting Anakin on edge and at the last second began spinning his hammer rapidly just as a shadowy wave of pure darkness slammed into him and carried him away into the air.
"Thor!" Anakin yelled out though froze in mid step just as he was about to chase after him.
The Jedi experienced a pressure unlike anything he had ever felt before and had been momentarily frozen on the spot. It was… he almost couldn't move.
Gritting his teeth, Anakin mustered the strength to free himself from this pressure, feeling the Force expunge from his body and freed him. Turning towards the general direction as to where he's sensing this… feeling from, the Jedi had his hand hovering over his Lightsaber.
A fog wafted in the air, condensing more and more as the seconds tick by. With the darkness, it got denser.
A sound was then heard.
It was like a windmill at first, but then focusing more it appeared to be similar to one heard at an operating/emergency room. It then became more prominent and more noticeable.
A heavy set of breathing began echoing around the Jedi.
Anakin couldn't explain it but he felt himself seize up in abject fear and horror.
That sound…
Why did it sound so… familiar?
Repetitive as that question may be.
Stepping out from the fog was a tall, dark and menacing figure. Perhaps on the same level as the Son in every similar sense.
With his appearance, from head to toe, he wore black armor with no visible part of the body underneath. The helmet looked like a failed attempt to blend a skull with an insectoid head with red lenses and a triangular mouthpiece with a wheezing sound coming from it; like hissing. The black cape flapped against the wind to reveal more of his armor with the occasional grays. The only colors which seemed to stand out from it were the blinking red and blue lights on the chest piece. There were even some lights coming from his belt, which were primarily green.
Anakin started to breathe heavily, the air around him almost close to suffocating.
Who or what was this being before him?
It was hard to make out at this time but…
The Dark Side with this man would have equaled or excelled the dark Celestial. It was as if this man was radiating evil, somehow. Anakin's instincts were telling him to stay away from him; he was dangerous.
"So…" The man's voice had a metallic filter to it, courtesy of his helmet. "Of all people, I am to face you. I wonder if this is meant to be a test for my allegiance… or sheer entertainment."
Anakin nearly stumbled back at the sheer presence this man… no, this thing commanded.
The man in black unclipped something from within his fluttering cape before whipping it to the side. Springing from it was a striking red lightsaber blade which glowed in the darkness.
"I'll find out soon enough."
In an instant, the figure charged- no leapt right at Skywalker, red lightsaber swiftly clashing onto hastily ignited blue.
Anakin's arms and legs nearly buckled under the overwhelming strength that this figure possessed. The Dark Side was oozing out from every cell of this being and it was really starting to get to him.
Instinctively, Anakin threw his hand out and unleashed the strongest Force Push he has probably ever done.
The dark helmed man was thrown back but not too far as he thrusted his hands out on either side and slowed himself down to a stop.
"Impressive."
Anakin jumped into a spinning strike that the being parried with ease, blocking a number of additional strikes that put him on the backfoot.
"Most Impressive."
With a counter swing, Anakin held his lightsaber up in time to block the crimson blade.
What he did not expect was to be lifted off his feet and sent careening onto his back. Anakin grunted aloud in pain though managed to tumble back and get onto one knee, Lightsaber drawn to the side.
That was only one blow but already he was breathing heavily, winded and tired. The power behind that one lightsaber swing might as well have been an entire day on the battlefield if that's what he could use to describe it.
This enemy was unlike anyone he had ever come across.
But damn if he wasn't going to give it his all against him.
Placing his other arm on his knee, he used that as the means to force himself up to his feet and get into the usual stance associated with Form V.
"Who… are you?" Anakin asked, eyes narrowing as the being mirrored his stance in Form V.
"Your doom," said the dark armored man, "and your end."
Skywalker was then batted away by the man's monstrous strength with the Force, making him have to recover quickly upon his skidded landing. For a split second later, he had to block an incoming strike from his attacker. He shoved the red saber back and swung in return only for this one offensive to be deflected and he was again on the defensive.
This enemy was so overwhelming, Anakin didn't even register the thunderclap up above as two others were locked in combat.
High in the sky, Thor managed to free himself and whirled Mjolnir around to bash his attacker away. Spinning his trusted hammer, he was able to levitate slightly as his eyes narrowed.
"Coming back for more, Son?" Thor taunted, conjuring forth a lightning bolt simply for show.
The bat creature could only spread its toothy maw wider as if trying to smile. The Son let out a screech and rocketed forward and Thor mirrored the move, the two colliding in the skies.
A shockwave of darkness and lightning erupted from the clash, the two engaging in a heated exchange of punches, kicks and other enhanced means of delivering damage.
They held nothing back with both trying to gain the advantage that the other refused to surrender.
It got to the point that they didn't even realize that they had been flying directly towards the ground in the midst of their battle. They made a crash landing, bellowing up a large dust cloud. From it, Thor's conjured lightning illuminated the space as the two combatants were ready to clash once more.
The Asgardian soon heard the sounds of fighting occurring, making him break away from his primary focus for a brief time.
Looking down below from the overhanging cliffside, Thor could make out Skywalker was fighting against someone else.
Someone very powerful in the Force that had Anakin on the ropes.
"Who is that?" He said aloud.
"Someone I decided to pull here." The Son said vaguely. "It cost me quite the amount of power with what I've done, but hopefully it'll be worth it with what I have in store."
Thor turned towards the Celestial with a narrowed look. "Why?"
"You." Was the snarling answer. "If it wasn't for you, I would've swayed the Chosen One to my side with little to no difficulty. But now I had to take a drastic step which will most certainly draw Arishem's attention in due time."
Thor's expression became far more grave now. "Are you truly that far gone? You wish to incur The Judge's wrath?"
"I wish to fight for my ability to be free!"
"And reign terror upon this galaxy." Thor shot back, thunder flashing around him. "You think I'll just stand by and allow you to do this?"
"If you were the All-Father, then I may have taken your words more seriously."
"Bold words coming from a prisoner who tasted my hammer just a short while ago." Thor threatened, increasing the speed of his spinning weapon with winds picking up around him.
The Son's eyes merely narrowed, the crackling of his more potent Celestial power beginning to spark out of him.
Both combatants hovered in front of each other for a few seconds until they flew at each other and clashed, an explosion of power erupting from their collision. It sent shockwaves and thunderclouds across the skies of Mortis.
Their battle did not go unnoticed by the other occupants in the realm.
"Whoa." Ahsoka murmured, looking ahead at that spectacular display of power. She was not able to see Thor and The Son fight the first time but seeing it now…
"They're going at it again." Peter commented with his brows furrowed in concern. His Sixth Sense was starting to tingle with him squirming at it. It seemed their battle may prove to be far more dangerous than anticipated.
"Should someone go after them?" Asked Vision.
"Yes, someone should."
Everyone turned to see The Father and The Daughter approaching them.
"They must be stopped." The former declared. "Lest my Son invokes the calling of the Prime Celestial. Should he come…"
He didn't say anything for a moment until Peter groaned.
"Really? Again with the cryptic cliffhanger? Come on old man, is now really the time for that?"
"What have you done?" Obi-Wan instead asked, sounding a bit accusing of the patriarch of this domain.
"He did what he thought was right." The Daughter answered on behalf of her father. "And now suffers for his choices."
"But while he "suffers", so do we in us staying here." T'Challa rebuked her sternly. "We must leave."
"Were it so easy." The Father murmured. "I have been attempting to figure out just what it is that is preventing you all from leaving and it appears that it stems from my Son."
"What?" Was the collective response.
"How is this possible?" Vision asked.
"He must be very desperate in not letting us leave."
The Father was silent, closing his eyes and stretched out with his senses in the direction of where Thor and the Son fought and let out a startled gasp.
"Is he mad?!"
"What?" Peter was rather panicked by that reaction. "What's he doing?"
"He's tapping into that which has been forbidden for only one purpose! His Cosmic power was to be used only on keeping the Maw in balance! Has he truly gone mad?!"
"The Maw?" Ahsoka was very much confused, as was the rest of the group. "What's in the Maw? Where even is the Maw?"
"The Outer Rim of the galaxy." The Daughter answered. "And the reason for our imprisonment here."
"Ok, tack up another cryptic thing to look into." Peter said with a roll of his eyes. "What do we do now?"
"We shall go see what we can do to help Thor and Anakin." T'Challa announced. "The Son is preoccupied with those two and perhaps won't see us coming. Vision, Obi-Wan, we go now."
"What about us?" Peter asked, gesturing to himself and Ahsoka.
"Safeguard the ship." Kenobi instructed. "Its repairs are almost complete, no?"
"Yeah but what if the Son turns tail and makes a beeline for us?" Ahsoka pointed out.
"I shall remain by your side." The Daughter declared. "Despite my brothers' power, the three of us can hold him back."
"What about your old man?" Peter said, gesturing to the aged Celestial.
"I must make sure that the Judge takes no notice of what is transpiring here." The Father answered. "If he hasn't already."
"More foreshadowing." Spider-Man all but grumbled. "Alright, let's get this over with."
-Scene Cut-
It has been quite the struggle getting here. A place where magma seeped onto the surface with a massive chasm appearing to funnel out the substance.
Anakin didn't mean to come to this place, or he may have but his mind was all over the place.
With his recent fight against that thing, he sucked up his pride and had to flee.
He was no match to that dark entity, barely holding up against him as his limbs ached as a result. Anakin didn't really know how nor did he care but he somehow reached the Well of the Dark Side and fell to his knees upon the ground.
His entire body was barely moving, his hands and legs having that uncomfortable constant pulse of pain.
He held up his hands and saw them twitching and trembling with him being unable to regain a semblance of control of them.
The Jedi fell forward, his shaking hands barely able to keep him up.
"You seem winded." Said a familiar disembodied voice. "Are you unwell, Chosen One?"
Despite himself, Anakin found the strength to look up at the Son with a defiant glare. The glare lessened slightly, becoming a bit mocking as he took note of the Son's appearance.
"I should be asking you the same thing." Anakin snidely said. "What's the matter? God of Thunder too much for ya?"
The Son appeared rather worn down as his clothing was worn down with parts of it being torn open. The right side of his temple had a scorch mark with charred skin in the center of it with the cracks glowing red.
Rather than fall to Anakin's bait, he simply raised a brow with a smirk appearing.
"I should say the same for you." The Son shot back. "What's wrong? Struggling against your demons? I would have thought that the Chosen One would have moved past them by now."
The Jedis' eyes narrowed, ear twitching at the unusual inflection in which he said all this.
There was something off about all that and…
"What was that thing?" Anakin demanded. "Do you know of it? Did you send it?"
"And if I did?"
Anakin managed to force himself up to his feet, wobbling but standing firm nonetheless. He grabbed his lightsaber and turned it on, the azure glow illuminating his face.
"You should know my answer to that." Skywalker declared, holding his blade up in the Son's face. "You've completely fallen to the Dark Side. You're a menace to your own family, to the galaxy. I must do my duty in stopping you."
The Son rolled his eyes, sighing rather dramatically as he held out his hand. Anakin's saber retracted back into its hilt and flew out of his hand and into that of the Son's.
"Must we be enemies?" The Son innocently questioned. "There is so much more that we can do if we are to work together."
"Are you really that far gone?" Anakin practically snarled. "I will never join the Dark Side."
The Son merely 'hmphed', clearly amused at this statement.
Just as he was about to speak, the crack of thunder was heard from above and Anakin instantly noticed the hesitation and tense up of the Son.
He couldn't help but smirk at the way the Son looked just now, that brief flash of annoyed nervousness seeping out of him.
"Where was all that superiority complex you had not long ago?" Anakin taunted. "What's the matter, scared of a little lightning?"
The Son's teeth clenched slightly, brow twitching. "You'll come to find that I have grown to not be overly fond of what follows afterwards." A fog soon appeared from the volcanic surroundings as the dark Celestial was cloaked by the substance. "Until then, enjoy my gift."
As the Son departed, someone appeared soon after.
Someone who Anakin thought he had ridded himself with earlier.
Hearing the familiar hiss he would soon begin to dread, Skywalker activated his lightsaber to combat his menacing opponent once more.
Yet something was rather off this time around.
The fog began to become denser with each passing second. The hiss-like breathing was heard for several more moments, all before it suddenly came to an abrupt halt.
The Jedi blinked, feeling himself leave his body, if that made any sense.
He looked down at his hands, seeing through them and yet they felt solid. Anakin had little time to ponder what had just happened when he felt himself get flung into an endless void.
Moments later, he was bombarded by sights and sounds, both familiar and not familiar in the slightest.
"-is the Chosen One-"
"-ise Jedi, Knight-"
"-am Iron Man-"
"-ust a kid from Brooklyn-"
Those voices…
He concentrated with all his might and began to see more clearly.
They were visions.
Visions of not only his past but a multitude of others.
But none that he could focus on specifically.
Each one was just flying on by with only a moment's glance. Anakin strained himself, trying to get a clearer picture but it was to no avail. All he could do was just go with the current and experience all of these visions at once.
With every passing one, he would hear occasional voices that he had either heard directly or it belonged to someone he knew or had never met.
"The name's Rex, but you'll call me Captain or sir."
"I'm the new Padawan learner. My name is Ahsoka Tano."
"Begun the Clone Wars, has."
"Like the old man said; Together."
"All of you against all of me."
"Bad things happen because of you."
"There was an idea…"
All at once, Anakin was frozen in place and found himself standing upon the ground again. He was "back" in his body, so to speak, and once again found himself in the Well of the Dark Side.
The dark mist that the Son had cast still surrounded him. Skywalker looked around almost desperately for a way out yet to no avail.
He then flinched almost violently, clenching his eyes shut tightly as he was bombarded with more visions.
If this was the Son's gift, he did not want it at all. He'd rather take the menacing Dark Force user over this!
He saw several cities, one where a tower with an emblazoned A was visible for all to see in the city skyline, a city with a large statue of Panther and another with a strange building that radiated with the Force.
His entire perspective changed again, now seeing the start of the Clone Wars on Geonosis, the Jedi and Clones fighting side by side until a tidal wave of fog came in and seemingly washed away whatever visions he was supposed to see.
Instead, they were replaced with a litany of new ones.
Him standing atop a building with Ahsoka and Spider-man, looking down at the city streets below.
Steve and Aayla lean their foreheads against each other, eyes closed and hands interlaced together in a tender moment.
War Machine with Ant-Man, Wasp and several other enhanced he had never seen before rushing headfirst with Jedi and Clones at their backs towards an army of red lightsabers.
Ahsoka and Barriss hovering over a severely beaten Spider-Man.
Obi-Wan, worn down and tired, breathing heavily while standing in front of an injured Matt Murdock.
Then there were those Guardians of the Galaxy he had met back on Mandalore fighting with Mandalorians against a near endless swarm of unidentifiable enemies.
Next came the Avengers were fighting together once again and it was against Ultron with him, Ahsoka, Rex, Domino Squad, Obi-Wan, Plo, Aayla and their Clone commanders fighting alongside them.
It was them fighting and winning, defeating insurmountable odds despite it all, even if none of it was clear for Anakin to see.
"Jedi only see the light, but never the dark."
Soon the pleasantries paved the way to horrific events.
Darkness began flooding over the galaxy. Some old, some new, some unique. Each washing over from various locations.
Yet one thing was ultimately certain: on each appearance, no one was prepared.
"To defeat an enemy you must know them."
A species of absolute horror in the eyes of Anakin. He couldn't get a clear look at what they were but he could feel them and not in the usual way. These… These invaders ran through the galaxy like a virulent plague, claiming billions upon trillions of lives.
"Not just their battle tactics, but their history."
Clones on Kamino running to their battle stations in a desperate last stand.
"Philosophy…"
The Jedi of the Temple all held their blades aloft, crying out an oath of defiance against the darkness.
"Art…"
His ears rung with the cries of billions crying out for help in their darkest hour.
"Your anger gives you strength."
Anakin's eyes widened at the sight of the dark figure whom he fought not too long ago standing before him until he quite literally turned into particles and joined the swirling dust that still surrounded him.
The menacing hissing soon returned with someone cackling alongside it.
"The Force is strong with you. You will bring balance… to everything…"
This dark figure unleashed a torrent of Sith Lightning. It didn't reach him but he felt the phantom pain of lightning course through his body.
"Embrace your destiny."
The Jedi grit his teeth, getting increasingly frustrated by all this and took a step forward in an attempt to escape this vortex of darkness until he lurched forward and felt his breath escape from him. His entire body froze, a cold sweat developing on his forehead with him struggling to move and breathe.
There… there was something… no… someone else here with him. Not here here but…
Skywalker's heart clenched up in complete and utter dread, his hand instinctively shooting up to his chest, hand grasping his clothing tightly.
Behind Anakin was a man. He who was looking through a large window to oversee the destruction of a planet down below. An imposing figure who rivaled the tallest of any species he's ever known in the galaxy thus far. Yet his stature equaled his strength, both literal and figurative.
And this man was surrounded by those who willingly followed him, who appeared to be nearly as dangerous as he is.
"In time… you will know what it's like to lose."
Anakin gasped, falling to one knee.
"To feel so desperately that you're right only to fail all the same."
He tried to force himself back up…
"Dread it, run from it. Destiny still arrives."
Only to fall back down, this time on all fours.
"I am…"
The terror that Anakin experienced was indescribable.
"Inevitable."
*SNAP*
Anakin's eyes were wide, horror, fear, terror and any other synonym and description one could use to describe what he was going through.
He didn't see who did it.
He didn't see anything but he heard him. That voice… that voice was just…
"Anakin." Said a soft voice that made his eyes snap open and look up to see his wife standing in front of him.
"Pad-"
He could say nothing else as he watched horror etch its way onto his wife's face as she turned to stone.
"PADME!" Anakin screamed, jumping forward for his wife. As soon as his fingertips touched her stone body, she disintegrated away into dust.
His heart nearly stopped right there but it seemed this torment was not to end.
"Anakin."
The Jedi whirled around to see others whom he held dear.
Ahsoka, Obi-Wan, Rex, the Jedi, his Clones, the Avengers and all…
They were all turning to dust.
"No, no, no, no, NO, NO!" Anakin's voice became hoarse, breaking from his screaming as he ran towards them all only to see them all fade away.
Ahsoka, Rex, Obi-Wan, Yoda, Windu, Plo, Aayla, Fives, Echo, Hevy, Steve, Nat, Rhodey, Sam, Wanda, Pietro, Vision, T'Challa, Matt, Hope, Scott, Barriss, Peter, everyone.
Everyone was turning to ash and dust!
Anakin's attempts to reach them, any of them, was all for naught.
They were all gone.
Every last one of them.
Anakin could only collapse onto his knees once more and stare at his hands in nothing but self-loathing.
Yet… the horror had not ended
He noticed flakes rising from where he was and gasped when he saw his fingers were graying and turning to ash.
It spread up to his arms and the rest of his body like a plague and all he could do was look to the skies with mouth open yet no scream came.
Anakin felt it all.
All those lives being snuffed out.
The entire universe plunging into complete and utter chaos.
All of that death!
Anakin couldn't breathe. This vision… this feeling… it was overwhelming every other sense in his body, his very soul. He was reaching, clawing at his throat as it seized up and his crystal blue eyes slowly began to pale, life fading from them as he fell away into ash.
And then…
This hellish torment abruptly ended with the Son blowing it away with a look of unadulterated rage, fear and anger.
"What… WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?!" He roared aloud, getting right in the face of the stunned Jedi. "That was not the future that was meant to be! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!"
Anakin was too shocked and bewildered to speak, a glazed, almost dead look in his eyes.
The avatar of the Dark Side appeared to almost be pleading with Skywalker for an answer before the crack of thunder made the Son recoil.
He appeared hesitant to do almost anything now.
The Son looked up above then back down at the somewhat comatose Anakin before transforming into his bat form and flying away just as Thor came crashing down.
"Come back you coward!" The Thunder God yelled, throwing Mjolnir in the direction of the fleeing Celestial. The Hammer missed, returning back to its owner's hand seconds later, Thor tsking in annoyance at losing him again.
"Bastard." Thor murmured. He turned to Anakin who was still on his knees and was a bit startled at the pale and haggard appearance of the Jedi.
"Skywalker?" The Asgardian crouched down to Anakin's level, placing a hand on his shoulder and shaking him lightly to snap him out of his daze. "Are you alright?"
Anakin stared blankly at the God, mind rebooting after experiencing the chaotic and downright terrifying visions he had just seen.
He didn't know what to make of it and…
And he wanted to go home right about now and hold his wife in his arms.
"Where is he?" Anakin's voice came out as a croak yet his blue eyes became fierce with determination and focus.
"Fled once again like the coward he is." Thor spat out, standing up and offering a hand for the Jedi to take.
Fists clenched, Anakin struggled to get back up until seeing Thor's hand. Giving him an appreciative grunt, he grabbed the hammer wielder's hand and was pulled back up to his feet.
The pair left the Well of the Dark Side, going to where their comrades resided in hopes of leaving Mortis soon.
All the while…
T'Challa, Vision and Obi-Wan were flying across the landscape of Mortis, The Prince and the Jedi on speeders and the android simply flying.
Their destination was the Well of the Dark Side as they had seen thunder and darkness in that area.
As they traveled across the barren landscape, Vision flinched, the Mind Stone pulsing considerably to the point that even Obi-Wan and T'Challa heard it. The former, however, had no time to question as to what Vision had detected as he inhaled sharply and nearly veered off course.
If it wasn't for Black Panthers' quick reflexes, Obi-Wan would have crashed.
"Are you both alright?" T'Challa questioned in obvious concern. "What was that just now?"
"I… I'm not sure." Obi-Wan muttered, a deeply troubled frown marring his face as the group slowed to a halt. "But I fear it may have something to do with Anakin."
Vision lowered himself to the ground, a grave look on his face.
"No… I believe it may be something worse." The synthetic Avenger stated. "It's coming from the Well of the Dark Side."
"Then we must make haste." T'Challa declared, the speeders powering back up again. "Come on."
Neither of his companions chose to argue against it as they were about to resume their trek…
When without warning, T'Challa found himself in a familiar place once more.
Practically twirling around to find his comrades, the Wakandan prince momentarily wondered if they may have ended up in the Ancestral plane.
"Why am I here?" He asked himself. "Why now?"
T'Challa was no longer on his speeder bike and was garbed in his white robes that he usually wore.
He walked forward, frowning as he gazed upon the violet skies of the Ancestral Plane.
"Bast." His voice carried across the grassy plains. "Why have you brought me here again? I cannot afford to lose time here. There are greater tasks to attend to."
"Fret not."
T'Challa whirled around to see his Panther Goddess materialize in all her glory before him.
"What transpires here shall only be seconds in the mortal plane." The Panther Goddess stated. "I have brought you here because your time on this nexus is nearing its end. I do not know when would be the next time that we would be able to speak but it is better we have our conversation now. He requested it."
"He?"
"My nephew."
T'Challa spun round to see his N'Jobu walking towards him.
"Uncle?" The Prince was confused. "You called for me here?"
"At the behest of Bast." N'Jobu regarded the Goddess with the utmost respect. "And because we must speak because it is likely that we may never have such a chance for a long time. And I know that you have many questions that have been ruminating in your thoughts at this time."
With no better opportunity, T'challa asked something which had plagued his mind since being at the Son's tower.
"Why did my father kill you?" T'challa bluntly asked. "I saw what happened, somehow, but-"
"You want better answers." N'Jobu cut him off, patting his nephew's shoulder. "And I shall give them to you. You simply must listen."
T'Challa simply nodded in silence and his Uncle spoke of the events that led up to that fateful day.
He left none of it out.
His assignment as a war dog in America.
Witnessing not only people of his skin color but multiple groups of people struggling to get by.
Finding love with an American woman.
Losing her but remaining resolute both in his mission assigned to him by Wakanda and his new objective.
To liberate the oppressed of the world and show them the proper way to rule, the Wakandan way.
But that led to his betrayal of his own kingdom and tribe.
Him reaching out to Klaue and giving him the instructions needed to get into the palace and stealing where the Vibranium was being stored.
The guilt of knowing he was responsible for the death of his own people.
All of which led to Zuri ousting him to King T'Chaka as the traitor and…
"I have spent many years here reflecting on my past deeds." N'Jobu said, tone soft and far off. "There is much that fills me with regret… but then I feel nothing but contempt for our peoples actions or really, inactions. We were thousands of years in the future but the world would have eventually found out the truth of our advancements. They would desire it above all else and take it in the worst way possible. I was blinded with the idea on how to enact things first. Only how my mission went made me go a certain path which led me to my downfall."
T'challa was silent throughout this entire time, digesting everything he heard. After hearing enough and processing, he finally speaks.
"How it's done… you were wrong, both you and my father." The young prince then looked past his uncle and gazed towards the endless expanse of the Ascendant plane towards their ancestors. "All of you. You were all wrong… being out here in this galaxy, I see it now. I knew it was true but what you and baba did… We were wrong to turn our backs on the rest of the world. To shut ourselves away and hoard what precious knowledge we obtained for all these millennia."
N'Jobu was silent, eyes down casted upon the ground in shame and remorse.
"Our fear of our discovery held us back from doing what was right. And how each of you acted… I can't describe…"
"What good is telling all of us that if you can't make the chance yourself?" His uncle said challengingly. After some moments, he exhaled a sigh as he resumed. "When you get back to Earth, find him."
This left T'challa rather confused. "Find who?"
"My son, your cousin." N'Jobu became far more intense, placing both hands upon T'Challa's shoulders. "Your father and I set him down a path of self-destruction. Wakanda, perhaps even the world can fall apart into pure chaos."
Before their conversation could continue-
"Pay attention!"
-T'challa found himself back on the speeder bike, nearly colliding with a rock pillar.
"What in the world was that just now?" Obi-Wan asked, looking at the rattled Prince in concern.
"Sorry. I was… distracted."
"Distracted by what?" Viz inquired from above.
T'Challa only had a glazed look in his eyes as the trio kept going.
"I shall tell you about it when I make sense of it all."

*Click*
"Alright now try the engine now."
*TrrrrVVMMMM*
"Woo! We did it!"
Ahsoka Tano just grinned back at the excited Avenger who pumped his fist in victory at their achievement in fixing the damaged ship.
What would have undoubtedly taken a number of hours longer was drastically shortened with the teen pair working together to patch up the ship.
With Ahsoka's training under Anakin in ship maintenance and repair on top of Peter's own inclination for mechanics and natural genius, the shuttle was at last in working order.
From the outside, the Daughter only smiled at hearing their success until her expression fell as she looked back to the horizon.
Her eyes were focused upon the continually swirling mass of the dark clouds that crackled with lightning.
She could feel it.
Her brother was getting stronger but this newcomer Thor was proving to be more than capable of matching whatever he
Only time will tell if this God of Thunder will hold back the Son long enough for the others' departure from this planet.
As the Daughter dwelled on these thoughts, the two teens within the ship went over diagnostics to make sure everything was in working order.
"Some of our functions are a bit wonky but our engines, life support systems and communications seem to be in working order." Ahsoka listed off, hands gliding over the controls.
"Better that than nothing at all." Peter surmised. "We can fly this baby again."
Ahsoka simply hummed, nodding her head along to his comment. She took a passing glance at the boy when she grunted, hand shooting up to her head.
This didn't go unnoticed by Peter, who was instantly by her side and helped her sit down.
"You alright?" He worriedly asked, hand on her shoulder to keep her steady.
"Fine just…" She rubbed her head. "Just been having this headache for a while now."
"For a while?" He said in surprise. "Why didn't you say anything?"
The Padawan grunted. "I just didn't wanna worry anyone. We have more pressing matters at hand."
"Yeah but your wellbeing after what happened to you is pretty important, you know." Parker countered.
Ahsoka ceased rubbing her forehead and slowly directed her gaze towards the spider-themed Avenger.
"What?" He asked, a bit put off by her rather intense gaze.
"What happened to me…" She whispered, almost going unheard by the Avenger.
"Ahsoka…"
"What did I do to you?" She abruptly asked, making Peter rear his head back in surprise.
That certainly wasn't what he was expecting to hear.
"Huh?" Was his response
"What did I do to you?" Ahsoka repeated, staring into Peters' eyes, a hand on the side of her temple. "These headaches… every time I focused on them, you always appeared in my mind. You were always backing away from… from me… like you were scared of me. There was a wall behind you and-"
Peter coughed into hand, a blush creeping up onto his face as he now looked for anything else to stare at other than Ahsoka's eyes.
He began stammering and stuttering, not realizing that this only served to worsen Ahsoka's headache as she cried out and fell to her knees.
Any nervousness Peter had disappeared in an instant as he dropped down to her side.
"Hey, hey, Ahsoka." He put his hands around her and hefted her up slightly. "Easy now. Don't strain yourself."
"Is she alright?"
Peter turned back to the entry ramp of the ship to see the Daughter looking at them in concern.
He didn't answer the avatar of the Light Side, instead back at the pained expression of his friend.
When looking into Ahsoka's eyes, Peter could see conflict in them. Her trying to act upon something yet fighting against it. Fear and yearning flip flopping for control and it made things truly difficult for her to manage.
"Ahsoka…"
"Oh no."
The teens blinked upon realizing the Daughter was now beside them both, the green haired Celestial crouching down to Ahsoka's eye level.
"It appears not all of my Brother's handiwork was removed."
"What?" Peter was alarmed now. "What do you mean?"
The Daughter shook her head, gesturing her hand downward to calm the boy. "It is nothing serious. I take it you're having headaches, yes?"
Tano hesitantly nodded her head, wincing as she felt another spike run through her.
"It is merely the residual effects of my Brother's hold over you. A brief sense of memory loss. They would have returned to you naturally but headaches would persist for a time." She held up one of her hands and they glowed the same radiant aura she had before saving Ahsoka. "I can remove this block and your memories shall return to you in their entirety."
"But…"
"But she will be troubled with what occurred."
"Will it hurt?" The Togruta asked, grunting in doing so.
"If you let it."
"That's not really all that encouraging, you know?" Peter dryly deadpanned, not at all on board with the idea of putting her through more pain.
"Do it."
"Ahsoka-"
"Just do it." Tano said through clenched teeth. "Trust me Peter, I can handle it."
He really, really hated being in these kinds of positions but he had no choice sometimes.
The Avenger looked up to see that the Daughter appeared to be waiting for his approval and well, he couldn't fault her for being polite about it.
Grasping her hand, he gave her a reassuring squeeze in which she returned before the padawan gave the Daughter the go-ahead.
The Daughter tapped Ahsoka's forehead, Peter seeing her eyes roll into the back of her head for a few seconds until she was back to normal.
"Soka?" He quietly said, watching her breathe heavily.
The sound of his voice drew her attention to him and it didn't take long for her to gain a healthy coloring to her cheeks, steam wafting from her and her opening and closing her mouth only to find no means of responding.
Peter could only cringe as he now knew that-
"You're remembering it all, aren't you?"
"Oh my God." Ahsoka said in complete and utter shame.
She let go of his hand and began backing away from him. Shame appeared on her features as she could no longer look at him.
"Oh my GOD." Ahsoka could feel her entire body burning in embarrassment. "How could I have done that to you?! What kind of a Jedi am I?"
"Well, to be fair, you weren't really in control-"
"That was still me, Peter." She cut him off, face becoming even darker upon her admission of it. "Oh my God, I'm despicable."
"Ok, I wouldn't go that far." Peter said, unable to hold back his small laugh.
"This is serious Peter." She all but whined. "The Jedi code, the Order, I've betrayed everything."
"Well, from the way you were talking, sure sounded like you did that a while ago with Barriss." Peter muttered out, yelping slightly at the heated glare shot his way. "Sorry, sorry, rambling, ignore the stupid."
Ahsoka's glare fell away, not being able to hold it as he wasn't really at fault. She caught him completely off guard.
"It's alright, young one." The Daughter spoke up, placing a delicate hand on the Padawan's shoulder. "Love is a wonderful thing to experience. You have found more than a suitable candidate to love."
The Jedi and Avenger both squeaked, faces now matching as now they both hid their faces from each other.
The Daughter could only react in bemused amusement at the way they were acting. Quite frankly, this sort of entertainment was something she had not seen in some time.
A refreshing change of pace really.
The Daughter was about to speak once again when she felt a disturbance in the Force.
This sensation was intense to the point that it broke Peter and Ahsoka out of their embarrassed stupor with the trio now turning their heads in the direction of the Fathers' Monastery.
"What… What's happening?" Peter nervously asked.
The Daughter closed her eyes, stretching herself out through her connection through the Force only to gasp.
"Thor and my brother, their fighting is escalating." The Daughter's eyes then widened in shock and disbelief. "No… it can't be."
"What? What is it?" Ahsoka asked, slightly panicked at the way the Daughter was behaving.
"We must go now!"
That certainly wasn't what the two teens were expecting. Her voice changed, becoming more disembodied and scarier really.
The duo nearly tripped over themselves but quickly found their seats and turned the ship on. It jostled on the ground for a moment until it took to the skies and flew at full speed towards the Monastery.
Around said Monastery was a spinning vortex of thunderclouds, dark side mist, lightning and Celestial energy.
Over in the Monastery itself, Thor swatted aside multiple pillars that the Son threw at him.
Anakin Skywalker used a Force Push to send some of the debris from Mjolnir's destruction in the direction of the Son who flinched at the boulders colliding against him.
He then was thrown forward from a beam that came from behind, courtesy of Vision who had joined the fight.
Just as was about to hit the ground, Black Panther sprinted forward with his form glowing with built up kinetic energy and delivered a kinetic enhanced roundhouse kick to his face.
The Son crashed into the ground, morphing into his bat form that allowed him a quick recovery. He bounded forward and slapped the Wakandan into the sky with his large wing.
Vision flew by, catching the prince in the air and setting him down.
The Son was about to go after the two when he heard the sound of a lightsaber being turned on.
He turned around in time to see Obi-Wan rushing in and just before he reached him, the azure blade was blocked by his wing that had orange veins now.
Kenobi tried for several more strikes but to no avail, retreating as the Force warned him of the Son's retaliation.
As the Jedi Master jumped back, Thor flew in and smashed his hammer in the jaw of the Son.
He sent the Celestial transforming back into his humanoid form.
The Son was not one to be kept down, quickly kicking up to his feet and throwing his hands out to his sides. Dust and particles swirled from the ground and up to his hands. Once gathering the amount he had desired, the Son clasped his hands together, the assembled materials forging into a giant black and red scythe.
"Whoa." Anakin exclaimed as he deftly fell to the ground, the weapon sailing past overhead. "That's a bit overkill, ain't it?"
"He's facing five of us, Skywalker." Vision remarked, becoming tangible to let the scythe harmlessly pass through him.
"Viz, please don't justify this jackass's reasons for using that to try and kill us." Skywalker's voice was strained.
"Ah, my apologies."
"Wonderful." Obi-wan candidly said. "Now that we have that out of the way, shall we focus back on what's important?"
As this side conversation went on, T'Challa and Thor were combating the Son who had reshaped his scythe into a dual sided mace and blade.
The mace part was for Thor and the sword part was… well, he wanted to see if he could skewer the crown prince of Wakanda.
Vibranium was still as strong as ever but there were materials capable of cutting right through it. And as a Celestial, the Son had the means in which he could make to get through Panthers' vibranium suit.
Spinning his weapon around, black and red flames appeared. They grew hotter and larger with each twirl. At its apex, the Son slammed his weapon into the earth, causing not just a shockwave but a large burst of flame going all around.
"How is he able to do all this?" Obi-Wan asked, standing behind Thor who was spinning his hammer and making the flames go around them.
"He's a Celestial." Thor answered simply. "They can manipulate matter on a molecular level. They can make almost anything."
"Then how can we beat someone like that?" Anakin questioned, straining to use the Force to create a bubble around himself and T'Challa for the dark fire to not touch them.
"Hit him really hard of course." Thor stated with a roguish grin, flinging his hammer up to call forth a dozen thunderbolts to reign down upon the Son. The Celestial grunted in pain, dropping his weapon as he was hunched over, taking the bolts that were clearly damaging him.
"I can work with that." Skywalker said, the flames subsiding, freeing him and T'Challa.
Obi-Wan could only roll his eyes at his former Padawan's words but there was a fondness in his eyes as the group went on the attack once again.
Flames still present on his weapon, the Son picked it up from the debris filled ground. He leapt into the air, twirled and brought down his weapon.
The closest to him at this time was Obi-wan, who held up his lightsaber to defend himself with the upcoming strike. Their weapons met, causing the Jedi Master to skid back from the force behind the offending blow.
Vision swooped in from on high, firing a beam right in the Son's face who flinched yet remained standing strong.
But just as he was about to retaliate, there was the sound of a young voice hollering with glee.
He turned his head in time to be blinded by a glob of web followed by getting drop kicked by a swinging Spider-Man. This assault wasn't over as Ahsoka Tano dropped down from on high with the Daughter joining her and the two performed a dual Force push that sent the Son careening into the wall. The Son crashed right into the rocky structure, embedded right into it with cracks all around him.
Prying himself out of his temporary confinement, the Son let out a harsh growl.
"Ah~ Dear sister." He sneered at her. "Come to delay the eventual death of these lesser beings?"
"I've come to put an end to your madness." The Daughter heatedly shot back. "It is not too late for you, my brother. I implore you. Stand down. It's not too late."
"Repeating yourself shall get you nowhere, dear sister." The Son plainly said, raising his hands with lightning and other minerals swirling around them. "You should know that about me by now."
He thrusted his hands forward, the torrent of lightning headed straight for the Daughter when the bolts arched away from her. The lightning flew into the spinning hammer of Mjolnir, Thor grinning madly.
"Have you forgotten I am here?" He taunted, taking small glee in seeing the Son twitch in anger.
"Unfortunately I haven't."
Once more, the Son leapt into the air and spun around.
Instead of having his weapon make contact with someone or anything at all, an ethereal red and black blade was flung forward. The others rolled or jumped out of the way from the ethereal attack. Yet it wasn't the only moment they did as more and more ethereal blades were flung right at them.
Soon enough, the Son's onslaught would become more bestial in nature, yet controlled in a refined manner.
"He was so much easier earlier." Said Peter, who was leaping all over the place.
The young Avenger fired more weblines at the dark Celestial, who merely cleaved through them like they were nothing. Some appeared to make their mark, in which the Son felt a yank on his person but he held his ground.
It wasn't the intention of Peter pulling the Son closer to him, in fact it was the other way around.
With him flung closer to the dark Celestial, Spiderman came in and delivered a powered kick at their opponent's side. Once making his mark, he shot out a flurry of jabs. He then backflipped away to avoid getting hit by the Son in retaliation.
When he went back to strike their opponent once more, something rather odd occurred.
From his arms, the black substance which made up his present suit formed long tendrils. They whipped out and struck the Son from afar. And when getting up close and personal, a reared back arm formed a bastard longsword; which was swung forward to collide with the Son's weapon.
It was only then did Peter finally realize what just occurred; as did the others.
"WHOA! I can do that?!" Squeaked out Spiderman. "That's so cool!"
"Was that your suit just now?" Ahsoka questioned, running over to him to see him holding up his arms and seeing the surface of his new black suit shifting about.
"Whoa~" Peter murmured both in awe and a little freaked out at what he was looking at.
"You filthy CRETIN!" The Son screeched, jolting Peter and Ahsoka out of their momentary curiosity as the Son rocketed forward and smashed into Spider-man, the duo entering into a grappling contest with their hands. "I've been meaning to question you earlier, but where did you get that symbiote?!"
"Symbiote?" Peter struggled out, barely holding his ground against the Son's strength. "Is this what this black stuff is called?"
Briefly, the young Queen's native felt something foreign within his mind giving a "so-so" answer.
'The hell was that?' He mentally asked until he let out a grunt of pain as The Son started curling his hands over his own.
Peter would question this later, among a great number of things. None of that would matter if he didn't survive this fight.
"Get away from him!" The Son was abruptly pushed away via the Force that Ahsoka unleashed upon him.
What no one noticed was the Togruta's hands had a small white hue around them as they had their concentration solely on the Dark Side Celestial.
The entire team used everything they had at their disposal to whether the Son down who kept getting back up, his Celestial powers taking greater prominence in keeping him going.
In the midst of all this, Peter couldn't help himself during his brief scuffle with the Dark Side user.
"I gotta tell ya, Spooky, your tower has a bad security system. It was practically easy for anyone to take stuff from it. This guy literally took the first chance he got to get away from you."
"YOU DARE STEAL FROM ME!" The Son shot forward, grabbing Peter by the neck, holding him close to his face. "You know not what you have taken, earthling."
This instantly caused Peter to retaliate by clocking the Son across the face.
In turn, the Son threw the young teen away so he may focus on the others at this time.
Being flung away, Peter was about to rapidly collide with a high wall. Before this occurred, several tendrils burst out of Spiderman's back, seemingly forming four thin appendages. It would be they which halted Peter from sustaining significant damage from a dreadful impact.
Rearing his head towards the Son, Spiderman's white lenses narrowed.
"Now that wasn't nice."
The tendrils seemingly read Spider-man's thoughts as he jumped back, the tendrils still embedded into the ground. They then retracted back into his suit and he was launched like a rocket with Peter landing both his knees into the face of the Son.
"My word, Peter."
The black suited Avenger looked over to see Obi-Wan and T'Challa running over to him.
"What in the world did you find in the Son's tower?" Parker's pseudo-mentor asked, looking warily at the shifting suit his pseudo-student wore.
"Ask questions later, Obi-Wan." Said Anakin Skywalker, running by the trio with Ahsoka and Vision with him.
"Agreed." T'Challa stated, looking at Obi-Wan and Peter briefly before they all rejoined the fight.
The Son was hovering in the air, arms outstretched as he created and gathered matter around him.
Thor was the first to attack, the two clashing against each other several times until The Son angled his body at the last second and backhanded the God away.
Next came Anakin, the Son materializing a sword in response to the charging Jedi.
The weapons belonging to the Son and Skywalker collided. Anakin struggled to deal with the Celestial's strength, yet it was too much for him.
Before he knew it, his blue lightsaber was batted away, leaving him open for the Son to ensnare him by the hem of his robes.
"Fool." The Son snarled. "We could have saved the galaxy had you joined me."
"Join you?" Anakin scoffed, a mocking smirk being thrown in his direction. "And get myself locked up here like you did? How do I know it wasn't your own fault? Dark Side always turns on itself in the end."
The Son growled in irritation and sent a jolt of Sith Lightning into Anakin's body before he was thrown away.
"Master/Anakin!" Yelled the others.
Some tried to rush towards him but the Son unleashed arcs of lightning all across the area to prevent them from getting anywhere.
"You still have me to contend with, insects."
Crashing through the monastery wall, Anakin tumbled across the ground before coming to a stop. He briefly heard his lightsaber clanking across the stone floor as he wobbly stood back up. He looked towards the opening and saw the fight continue and sought to join back in.
"Going somewhere?"
Anakin whirled around and used the Force to bring his lightsaber back into his hand. Just in time too when he saw the tall, menacing presence he fought before stalking towards him.
"Ah come on, really?" Anakin said more to himself than to this imposing individual. "Now?"
"Yes. Now."
Anakin grit his teeth, igniting his blue lightsaber in time just as the being brought his red one down upon him.
"You know not what you have and what you will lose."
"If only I knew or cared what you were talking about." Anakin snarked back.
"You will." The ominous voice of this menacing being said, sending a chill down the Jedi's spine.
The two pushed back against each other, their blades clashing a number of times until one diagonal swing made Anakin stumble back from its power.
In response, Skywalker used the Force, pushing his tall opponent back. This seemed to not work as the menacing dark figure didn't budge all that much. This only had the Jedi Knight to push harder.
As this occurred, the dark side user merely went into a lower stance and brought his hands together. The sounds of crackling chirping could be heard in the darkened space as it began to escalate more and more. And from the man's palms was a bright light which began to erratically grow and condense with sparks seeking an escape.
From what Anakin was witnessing, he could recall a Force technique from his personal studies: Kinetite.
At its apex, the Kinetite ball was launched. It collided against Skywalker, having not only sent him back considerably but also electrocuting him in the process.
Making an attempt of a recovery landing, Anakin felt his mechanical hand spasm as it was trying to either correct itself or stay functioning. He gritted his teeth from the pain of what he experienced and had to push on through in order to rejoin the others.
"There is no escape."
Anakin let out a yell of frustration, inadvertently calling upon the Force to expel the lightning around him. This in turn sent the attack the being conjured back onto him.
He stumbled back, clearly affected by this retaliation but remained standing.
"Rather impressive. Yet you underestimate the power of the Dark Side."
"Oh Kriff, cliche much?" Anakin quipped, rolling his eyes at what he just heard. "You can't sound anymore generic."
This appeared to incense the being who began to swing at Anakin with a sense of anger and annoyance.
Their lightsabers soon met once more. With one hand, Anakin used the Force in close range in hopes of getting the upper hand, yet to his annoyance and frustration, his opponent mirrored the same action.
The darkened space began to quake as a result. It may have gone up significantly, due to what's happening outside.
"Your skills are impressive, if not unrefined."
"And you're just a giant tool who can't help but love hearing the sound of his own voice." Anakin spun his blade about, parrying the red saber and went for a spinning kick to the chest. The attack struck the armored chest, which sent back his opponent slightly. "You're strong but not unbeatable."
"You will be destroyed, one way or another."
"Are you the one to do it?" Anakin challenged.
"No, that is your own fate. To fall to the Dark Side."
He didn't understand why but hearing this made Anakin retaliate quite viciously at the last parry the individual pulled off. Clenching his lightsaber tightly, the Jedi went for a vertical upswing that struck the red blade with such power, it made his enemy reel back. The being had his saber arm pulled back behind him, leaving him wide open.
Anakin went for a horizontal swing, the cape wearing Sith hastily bringing his saber down at the last second to block him.
The red lightsaber was swatted aside again, Skywalker lunging forward at the opening.
This went on for a number of seconds, Anakin delivering a powerful blow that almost disarmed his foe, the cape wearing Sith barely being able to defend himself from the follow up attack from the Jedi.
"What's the matter, big guy?" Anakin taunted, not letting up on his attack at all. "Too much for ya? Where was all that arrogance a second ago?"
Though the helmet prevented him from seeing his face, the Jedi knew that these words were getting to his enemy. Those few huffs of air coupled with how angry that last deflection was proved more than enough of his assumptions.
The being swung wildly overhead and that was the opening Anakin was waiting for.
He elbowed the chin of the helmet and a quick swing of his saber cut the other in half.
Seeing that he had no other means of defending himself, Anakin plunged his blue lightsaber through the chest of his fierce enemy.
The dark, armored figure let out a painful hiss from his respirator-like mask as his saber fell to the ground. Looking down, Anakin's opponent didn't look at him as he spoke.
"This is not the end."
Hearing this made Anakin come to a conclusion. "You're just a manifestation, an illusion. Then stopping the Son means the end of you."
The Jedi jolted his head back slightly at the intense gaze that was sent his way. For the briefest of moments, Anakin swore he saw eyes behind that mask. Yellow, sickly Sith eyes that contained nothing but venom and hatred towards everything in the universe.
"Does it?"
And like that, the being faded away, turning to dust and falling to the ground. Anakin stepped back as he kept his eyes upon the pile of dust that was blown away a second later.
A sense of doubt seemed to well up inside of Skywalker, one which he fought to get rid of. It was merely something to unsettle him for this manifestation's master to defeat him.
That shiver down his spine didn't help with the matter either.
The sound of the fighting that was still ongoing out in the Monastery broke Anakin out of his thoughts.
He silently cursed himself for what he equated to be a distraction as he rushed back to where his friends were.
Upon reaching outside, Anakin had to avoid getting hit by the clashing lightning attacks, courtesy by both Thor and the Son. Rolling away from the stray bolts, the Jedi Knight saw the others were having a hard time standing upright or were clearly exhausted with the ongoing fight.
He could tell that they weren't going to last much long.
Despite them being enhanced, even T'Challa and Peter were displaying signs that they were starting to get worn down.
Only Vision and Thor really can keep going but at this rate, will their even be a planet or whatever this place is left to fight on?
And the Daughter seemed to be on her last leg as she was easily being overpowered by her sibling.
It was by this point did someone decide to finally intervene.
"ENOUGH!"
An explosion of power erupted in the center of the Monastery grounds, sending all fighters tumbling to the ground.
They all recovered quickly and looked up to see the Father floating above them all, slowly lowering himself to the ground.
Celestial energy crackled around him as he leveled a hand in the direction of the Son.
"You have done enough." The Father's voice thundered across the area. "I ask you one last time, my Son-"
"You have no power to keep me here any longer, old man." The Son interrupted his father. "You must understand by now, this planet is not my destiny."
"What you will do will destroy all that is good. I beg you, restrain yourself and stay." The Father implored.
Hearing the Father's plea seemed to do nothing to sway the Son and his decisions.
He held a look of pure defiance as he glared at his Father. "I cannot."
"And then it shall be. I love you, my Son."
The Son only raised a questioning brow. "Do you? I never realized that imprisonment counted as "love" as you call it."
The Father was undeterred by his son's words, shaking his head in remorse.
"I held hope that you could resist the dark side. But I see now, there is no going back."
From his hands, he conjured the Dagger of Mortis, and held it up at an unflinching Son.
"Father!" The Daughters' jaws dropped in horror. "You can't!"
"He has disrupted the balance." The Father rebuked. "In his actions, he has weakened you, forcing you to give up your power to undo his actions. He can't be left alive."
"As if you have the stomach to kill me, old man." The Son's words and tone were completely venomous as he got ready to pounce upon his Father.
The Daughter was ready to move herself and the Avengers and Jedi were forgotten at this time, them merely standing as spectators.
However…
"Rgh!" Peter violently flinched, hand shooting up to his head.
Vision's Mind Stone pulsed significantly.
T'Challa's senses went haywire.
Thor tensed up, head snapping up to the skies.
The Jedi inhaled sharply, an overwhelming feeling in the Force dominating their very existence.
The three Celestials halted whatever they were doing, practically frozen in place. All they did, however, was widen their eyes and began to quake in fear.
At that moment, everyone could hear the sounds of rolling thunder in the air.
"Thor," Vision spoke up, very much confused as he was nervous. "I understand you occasionally like the theatrics but-"
"This is not my doing." Thor gravely said, eyes to the sky, hammer gripped tightly for whatever was coming.
The lightning in the sky became truly erratic, never seeming to end at all.
That was until the clouds parted, even the very sky to reveal six glowing red suns, set upon two diagonal rows.
Yet these were not suns at all, let alone stars.
In truth, these were eyes.
And they originate from something… titanic.
Scratch that, titanic doesn't seem appropriate in terms of scale.
Otherworldly is the best to work with.
Peter's jaw dropped, hands falling limp with his mask receding back to convey his shocked expression.
"Holy fucking shit!" He all but exclaimed, a sentiment shared by a majority of the group.
From what they could make out, the entity in the sky was primarily red. Blockish in design with a rockish texture. From what openings they could see from the chest area appeared to look like countless red stars.
Everything else about this entity was hard to describe, for they only saw the head and upper portion of its chest. All else of its body, however…
"It's him." The Daughter whispered in shock.
"Who?" T'Challa asked the Daughter.
"Arishem."
Thor seemed to recognize who the Daughter was talking about and faced the planet-eclipsing being with hesitation.
Though he had six eyes, the entire group felt they were all directed towards one individual.

Upon hearing Arishem's interruption, The Father shook his head. "No, holy Judge. I meant to contain my Son who wished for freedom."
The giant head turned its gaze in the direction of the Son who seemed paralyzed to move before returning back to the Father.

The Father could practically sense Arishem's gaze being set upon his children. This caused him to swiftly make a decision.
"Take me instead." Spoke the Father. "All this was my mistake. Let me pay the price for it all."

"NO!"/"NO!" Cried out the Celestial siblings.
"Father-"
"What have you done?!" The Son screeched, very much distraught about what was about to happen. "It did not have to be this way!"
"Yes, my child, it did." The Father suddenly gazed at his children. "You two are tied to me and your strength runs through me. This way, I take much of your power. After this, you both are no longer dependent on me."
Ethereal rings appeared and surrounded the Father, entrapping him. He was pulled into the air as his body began to glow a gray-blue light.
They watched as the Father transformed, taking the shape of his true Celestial body until Arishem and he vanished through what could only be described to be a reddish black hole.
Moments later, everyone present on Mortis could feel a gigantic quake. Not just a planet shake, but a ripple through the Force to signify the Father's life being extinguished.
The Daughter collapsed to her knees and began to weep.
The Son could only stand, arms limp at his side as he was trying to comprehend what just happened.
Then, out of nowhere, everything throughout Mortis began to quiver and collapse upon itself.
With the Father no longer alive, the entire planet was no longer necessary to carry out the punishment Arishem had for the remaining Celestials.
Everyone sought to regain balance, yet it was all for naught as everything on the now dying planet began to fall apart.
With no proper way of escaping so soon, everyone would die.
̭̪̩̲̙̲̭̿̑̀͞"̟̗̭̹̥̯̲̪̍̃̐̚͘N̷̹͓ͮO̘̯̜̗̰̘̦̦ͣ̽̇̐ͣͩ͢͟"̭͕͕̲̞́ͬ̋̚͝ The Daughter cried out and from her, an eruption of Light Side and Celestial energy began to branch out.
Everyone shielded their eyes as the glowing was intense to the point of blinding.
This went on for a few seconds until the ground stopped shaking.
Slowly, everyone opened their eyes and were stunned to see the planet was now intact. In fact, it had completely changed.
No longer was it in a state of perpetual darkness but an ethereal, beautiful and warm light.
Life had sprouted everywhere and there was a pleasant air that surrounded them all.
"What-" Ahsoka whispered, a strange feeling of content welling in her chest.
"I didn't want this place to die." The Daughter spoke up, her golden glow having returned. Though she appeared radiant, her mood was anything but.
Tears continually streamed down her face as she closed her eyes, looking down in pure sorrow.
"I couldn't let it die." She quietly sobbed. "This is our home. Where our family lived until… until…"
She couldn't finish, collapsing to her knees and wailing in anguish.
Surprisingly, the Son immediately crouched down to his sister and placed his hands upon her shoulders.
It was a rather awkward and strange sight to see, the Son trying to comfort his sister whom they had all fought with such ferocity just a few short minutes ago.
The group could only watch the two Celestials mourn together at the loss of their Father.
"The barrier is gone." The Son idly noted, almost sounding both relieved as he was disappointed. "There is nothing that contains us here anymore."
He looked down at his sibling, a look of want and regret for his actions yet they became resolute and fierce.
"Sister, please, come with me." The Son implored. "Together, we can avenge our Father. Our mother. We can bring justice, true justice as opposed to Arishems archaic ways."
The Daughter however only shook her head. "No, dear Brother. Our Father sacrificed his life for us. I will not go after Arishem on a foolish crusade on an act of vengeance. It will only lead to our demise."
These words appeared to hurt the Son as they all saw sorrow and a pleading look that the Daughter shook her head at.
"...Very well."
Suddenly, from the Son's position, an encompassing darkness erupted around the Celestial. It swallowed him whole as he disappeared from their sight.
"W-Where'd he go?" Peter asked, looking around for any sign of the Celestial.
The Daughter was silent for some moments before giving an answer.
"Away from Mortis." She said, bringing much dread onto the Avengers and Jedi. "With Arishem's barriers no longer present, he freely left and now roams the galaxy as we speak."
"Where will he go?"
"I am uncertain."
She then walked up to Ahsoka, looking down at her with a fond smile and wordlessly held the Dagger of Mortis.
The group was certainly surprised as to how she had gotten it but said nothing as she placed it in the Padawan's hands.
"I believe this will serve better with those who can use it than having it waste away here." Said the light Celestial.
"What are we to do with it?" Obi-Wan asked.
"Should the moment come, you will know." The Daughter said, reaching forward to tenderly cup Ahsoka's cheek as if a mother would to her child. "I have faith in all of you. But now it is time for you all to leave this place."
Without warning, the Daughter conjured a light. One which became blinding, growing more and more as it swallowed everyone up.
-Scene Cut-
Commander Cody and Captain Rex had been trying to get in contact with the others for a while now.
No matter what they did, the end results always wound up in failure.
It went from frustrating to nerve wracking now.
But whatever worries they had were thrown out the window and replaced with something…
Suddenly, their sensor went haywire.
"What's goin on?" Captain Rex shouted, seeing multiple clones run about on the bridge.
"Unknown sir." A pilot replied. "Our sensors are picking up an energy spike that's broken our readers?"
"Broken?" Commander Cody repeated in bewilderment. "What in the galaxy is that supposed to-"
"Uh… guys." Squeaked out a terrified clone. "Look outside for a second."
Looking from the bridge window, all the personnel looked on in utter shock and horror with what they're witnessing.
Outside of the Republic cruiser was Arishem. And in his hand was what was the outer representation of Mortis.
"What the hell is that?" Screamed one clone
"I… I wish I knew, brother."
After what felt like forever, a gray-bluish light was pried out of Mortis and once close enough to Arishem, they both disappeared in a reddish black hole which suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
When this happened, the ship went through a massive quake as if they were fired upon. Once everything settled, a secondary quake went off and it unsettled everyone.
"Can anybody tell me what the hell is going on?!" Rex bellowed out in the midst of all the chaos.
"That's what we're trying to find out, sir!" Answered another clone pilot.
Finally, the shaking stopped and everyone practically fell to the ground.
"Sound off, is everyone alright?" Cody said straight away, straining to do so.
He got half-hearted moans and groans from all the clones that they were alive.
"And the rest of the fleet?" Rex asked.
"All accounted for, no casualties."
The Clone captain exhaled a sigh in response.
"Wait…" Spoke up a clone hovering over his terminal. "Is that?!"
"What is it?" Rex asked, looking over at him.
"I got the generals' ship on our sensors!" The clone pilot excitedly yelled. "Their shuttle's back on the radar!"
In an instant, activity was reinvigorated on the bridge as everyone worked to establish a connection with the ship that had reappeared so suddenly.
The large structure seemingly sealed shut and didn't make any sign of further activity but that didn't matter to them.
"General Skywalker, do you read me?" Called out Rex. "I repeat, do you read me?"
After some moments they got a response.
"Loud and clear." Came the haggard response of his Jedi General and friend.
"Are you alright, sirs?" Cody asked the crew inside the shuttle. "You've been gone for hours."
There was a brief pause heard on the other side until they heard Ahsoka Tano speak up.
"Hours?"
"Yes, sir. Around six by this point." Rex answered her.
"...Felt like a few days." Said Peter.
"Sirs, what exactly happened to you all?" Cody inquired. "You all disappeared in there and we were unable to reach you."
"What about the other mission?" Black Panther's voice was heard.
"We were forced to not take part as we had to await your return from… whatever happened." Rex felt kinda dumb in saying that.
"Well that's just great." Was Anakin's grumpy response.
"They accomplished their mission, however." Cody quickly tacked on. "Captain Rogers and General Secura reported the destruction of Ultron's base."
"Well, some good news at least." Vision remarked.
"Rogers?" Spoke an unfamiliar voice to the Clones. "Steve is with all of you right now?"
Both Rex and Cody looked at each other before the captain gave the appropriate response. "Who was that?"
"It's a long story." Came the response of a very tired Obi-wan Kenobi. "You wouldn't believe it if we told you."
"Try us." Rex challenged.
"Are ya sure, Rex?" Anakin asked. "Obi-Wan did say it's a long story."
"With segmented parts and chapters." Peter tacked on.
"We got nothing but time in getting back in friendly space." The Clone Captain remarked. "Besides, telling it to us will help you streamline it when we have to deliver our report to the council."
"Good point." Ahsoka said with a laugh, very much eager to get back home after what they just went through.
And with that said, the shuttle made its way back towards the safety and familiarity of the Republic fleet.
…
…
…
The Mission to Ultron's base had been completed.
The investigation of the old Jedi code was… "investigated".
Thor's reunion with the Avengers was boisterous to say the least.
But right now, Anakin Skywalker had a far more important and greatly personal matter to attend to after everything had transpired.
"So this was where you were born?" Peter questioned, looking out at the front window of the Twilight, sitting behind Anakin.
"Yup." Was Anakin's wry response. "Old Tatooine."
After what happened on Mortis, Skywalker had a sense of uneasiness which needed to be quelled. So once everyone made it back to Coruscant and relayed their reports, Anakin decided to make a trip back to his home planet. All in order to put many things to rest.
And he wouldn't be alone in making this trip.
"An entire desert planet?" Peter mused aloud with a frown. "So… who runs this place? House Harkonnen or Atreides? Any Spice affecting my senses I should be concerned with?"
Anakin shrugged slightly. "The Pike Syndicate controls a large portion of the Spice trade in the Outer Rim. Though I've never heard of these Houses. What, did ya learn something about this galaxy we don't know about?"
Though the question came out as a joke, Peter's reaction was anything but.
"Wait what?!" Peter gaped. "Spice here is real? Seriously?! Whoa, I was joking. Wait…. Then does that mean Dune is real too?! Is there an Arrakis here?! Sand Worms?! Bene Gesserit? Wait… would the Jedi Mind Trick count as one?"
"What?" Ahsoka looked at the web-head in clear bemusement. "What are you even talking about right now?"
"Is this another Earth reference?" Padme asked, amused by the teens' excited reaction.
He appeared to calm down now, displaying a sheepish expression for them to see.
"Heh, yeah, it's from a sci-fi book called Dune." Peter stated. "Maybe Karen can find it in her databases. Pretty sure Mr. Stark is just as nerdy as I am. He makes more references than I do."
Anakin only shook his head, chuckling silently to himself, tuning their conversation out as he concentrated towards their intended destination.
He flew out across the desert world, passing by several cities and settlements until arriving at the location of their journey.
Having the ship settle down, Anakin and co walked off the ship, the Jedi Knight leading towards a lone hutt situated in the middle of seemingly nowhere.
"Uh… what exactly is this place, Anakin?" Peter asked in confusion though he tried to be polite.
"It's a moisture farm." Anakin plainly said as they drew closer to the place with two people coming out from the hutt.
Anakin's lip twitched upwards at the sight of them, walking right up to the man, taking a second to eye the woman beside the man until both were standing a foot apart from each other.
"Anakin." The man greeted calmly.
"Owen." Skywalker said in return, neither man speaking for a few "tense" minutes until teasing grins broke out between the two.
Anakin held out his hand and Owen clasped it with his own, the two firmly shaking their arms.
"Owen." Skywalker greeted in a kind fashion. "It's good to see you.
"Same for you Anakin." Owen Lars smirked slightly. "Or should I call you the Hero with no Fear now?"
Said "hero" couldn't restrain his good natured eye roll, groaning light heartedly. "Kriff, it's made its way over to this corner of the galaxy?"
"Hard not to with how crazy things are these days, Anakin." The woman next to Owen said with a warm smile.
"It's good to see you too, Beru."
Beru only smiled at the Jedi
"What can we do for you, Anakin?" Owen asked, eyes flickering behind him. "Padme, nice to see you again."
"Hello Owen, Beru." Padme kindly said. "It's good to see you both are well."
"The same to you." Beru said, looking past her. "And who are these two?"
Anakin turned to the two teens and gestured them over. When Ahsoka got within arm's reach of him, placed a hand on her shoulder with a proud smile for Owen and Beru to see.
"This here's my Padawan, Ahsoka Tano."
"Nice to meet you." Said the Togruta teen.
"Peter, Peter Parker." The Queens native said, holding out his hand with Owen and Beru shaking it. "Spider-man."
"Spider-Man?" Both moisture farmers parroted in bewilderment.
"He's an Avenger." Anakin tacked on, snorting slightly at the pair's eyes widening considerably. "I take it they're just as famous out here, huh?"
"That's all the holo-nets and news feeds have been talking about." Beru remarked, a bit astonished in actually meeting an Avenger after hearing so much about them for the past year.
It was slow at first but eventually multiple captured holo-vids began spreading to all the known corners of the galaxy all showing off the incredible skills, powers and capabilities that this team of extraordinary people possessed.
Anakin looked around a little, soon voicing an inquiry to his step-brother.
"Where's Cliegg?"
Owen's smile marginally lessened. He turned his head towards a mound on the other side of the farmstead. Only instead of one when Anakin was last here, there were now two.
His eyes widened upon seeing this, not turning away from it as he stepped forward.
"When-"
"He died some weeks into the Clone Wars." Owen answered, a pained and downtrodden expression on his face. "His injuries were one thing but after losing Shmi… mom… his heart. He just couldn't live knowing he failed her. Dad just wanted to be with her in the end."
There was a glossy look in Anakin's eyes, the Jedi's head hanging low with Padme immediately placing a hand on his shoulder. Her other took hold of his hand and she leaned her head against his shoulder.
Before long, the group made it to the gravesite where the pair of tombstones resided.
"I'm sorry for your loss." Ahsoka quietly said.
"Thank you." Beru murmured.
"Did Anakin-"
"He and my father-in-law never really spoke to each other when meeting for the first time." Said Beru. "They didn't speak again afterwards at the little funeral, due to whatever happened at Geonosis."
Ahsoka gave a small nod of understanding, realizing what must've gone on at the time.
Owen and Anakin stood apart from the group, the two silently conversing with one another.
"I hate that your last memories of them were in their final days." Lars murmured.
"There was nothing that could be done about it in the end." Anakin somberly said. "At the very least, for ten years, she was in good hands."
Owen weakly smiled at that. "She always talked about you, you know? Always talking about her son, future Jedi hero of the galaxy. Shmi always knew you'd come back. You'd come back the man she always knew you to be."
Anakin felt his heart clench up upon hearing this, shutting his eyes tightly, tilting his head away from the two gravestones.
Though a litany of emotions went through the Knight, he shook his head and gazed upon the gravestone of his mother's savior and husband.
"I was… cold to him." Anakin muttered, tone conveying clear self-loathing.
He felt Owen place a hand on his shoulder. "Don't say that. He hated himself for failing your mother. He hated that he couldn't bring her back. We all did."
"But that still didn't-"
"Come on Anakin." Lars shook his shoulder slightly. "That's in the past. It's best not to dwell on it."
Skywalker stared at the two gravestones and let out a haggard sigh.
He stepped forward to Cliegg's gravestone first, kneeling down onto one knee. The Jedi gathered some sand in his gloved hand, clenching his fist lightly, allowing the sand to fall freely from in between his fingers.
"I don't remember if I got to tell you this before Cliegg, but… thank you for taking care of her." Anakin's tone was solemn as he went on. "I was just so focused back then in trying to find her again, on top of my grief in eventually losing her, did I not talk to you as I should have." He was silent for a few moments before continuing. "It was strange, really, learning you two having gotten married and I never would've thought such a thing would have occurred. For most of my life, all we had was each other and no one else. And then I left her… left her behind just cause she told me not to look back. I hated myself every day for doing that."
His eyes were clenched tightly shut for a few moments until they opened again. They were softer in appearance now, still looking upon the grave. "But I'm at least thankful you were able to give her a better life up until the end and I could never repay you for your love and kindness to her."
Once speaking his words to Cliegg's grave, Anakin turned his attention towards his mother's.
"Mom… There's a lot I wanted to say. Much is rather hard to speak about." He struggled out before taking a deep breath to calm himself. "I have many regrets and one of them was not seeing you sooner. I held a lot of resentment because of it. I try my best to be the man you always wanted me to be or at least my attempt with what I guessed growing up. It's not easy… I miss you. I wish you were here right now. You always knew what to say to me."
His gaze was distant as he reflected his time back on Mortis.
The Son ruined what bit of memory he had of his mother, due to the dark Celestial posing as her to dissuade and letting his guard down. It made things rather difficult afterwards as many emotions ran through him. May have been worse if he didn't immediately talk to Peter and Vision before confronting the Father.
Hopefully, in time, his memory of her will be properly mended.
Anakin felt the presence of the others join around him, his wife taking his hand into hers, the two holding each other for support.
"Your mother?" Peter quietly asked, Anakin silently nodding. "She would be proud… and exasperated. You dive bombing off every ship you fly."
Anakin snorted despite himself, reaching up to lightly flick the side of Peter's head.
"Like you're one to talk." He countered. "You and your team beat my record in no time at all with how you guys do things. Crazy and reckless should be your guys' motif."
"Not like you're any better." Peter shot back with a teasing grin. "Poor Ahsoka has to look up to you as her role model."
"He's not that bad." Ahsoka said in defense of her mentor, the Jedi Knight puffing out his chest in pride. "But he does leave a lot to be desired."
And like that, he deflated instantly, a faux-sour look being shot towards his Padawan.
"And what's that supposed to mean, Snips? I say you only encourage my "reckless" behavior."
Ahsoka only gaped in disbelief. "Excuse me?! I'm the one who encourages you?"
"But of course." He even flicked his hair back just for the hell of it to add to his comment. "I have to be a model Master for my "adorable" little protege; otherwise, what kind of a Jedi would I be?"
Owen chuckled at their interactions, clearing his throat for them all to hear.
"Since you guys came all this way, stay for dinner." He said, placing his arm around Beru's shoulders. "Beru's making her best dish tonight."
"I insist." She stated. "You traveled all this way."
"That sounds wonderful." Padme stepped forward. "Do you need any help?"
Soon after, the six of them went down into the Lars Homestead for dinner, enjoying a rare moment of serene peace.
Despite the war, despite the madness the visitors had recently endured, despite all that was happening at this very moment in the galaxy, they all had this moment here of peace.
A simple dinner between friends and family.
But…
During the duration of the dinner, one Padawan noticed strange behavior that she really had been seeing throughout her trip here and during their stay.
It was the way her Master and Senator Amidala interacted.
Far too familiar and far more intimate than one would expect from a Jedi.
She didn't need to ask or speak up about it because one of her wayward glances at the two was caught by Padme.
When asked what was wrong, Ahsoka she didn't say anything at first but for the Naboo Senator, it was rather easy for her to discern what was troubling her.
"Anakin." She quietly said, turning to her husband who held a solemn yet resolute expression for the table to see.
The Jedi Knight simply reached for his wife's hand, interlacing his fingers with hers and placed their hands down upon the table.
Skywalker looked hesitant for a moment and looked to Peter who now realized what his friend was about to do. The Avenger looked between him and Ahsoka for a second.
"She's your student, Anakin." Peter softly said. "And she trusts you."
Hearing this only served to confuse the Togruta, her attention now squarely on her master who now became determined.
"Right then." He whispered, looking right into his Padawan's eyes. "Ahsoka, there's something that you should know. Something I can only entrust to you right now."
This gained her complete undivided attention as she leaned forward upon the table in anticipation.
"Padme and I-"
…
…
…
Ahsoka stood alone, leg propped up on the slightly elevated mound of sand surrounding the pit of the Lars Homestead.
She had one hand resting upon her knee and her gaze being directed out towards the horizon of the desert world, silently watching the twin suns set upon the planet.
Though she appeared relaxed and content, one can see conflict in her eyes. One with keen eyes would also have been able to pick up on her tense shoulders and how she would occasionally clench up one of her fists for a few seconds.
There was a lot on her mind right now after that little dinner sit down in the Lars Homestead.
Much that she had learned of about her Master that… well… She's gonna need some time to process it is all.
"Beautiful view." Said a familiar voice from behind. "A sci-fi nerd's dream come true right there."
Ahsoka's lip instantly twitched upwards, tilting her head to the side slightly to catch Peter walking up to her out of the corner of her eye.
"A dream come true?" She asked innocently, turning to him fully as he now stood by her side.
He shrugged. "Yeah, of course. Earth only has one sun and I've noticed most other planets have the same amount. So seeing this is pretty cool."
The Togruta only hummed in response, turning back to the twin suns. There was a comfortable silence between the two for a time though Peter kept side eyeing her every few seconds, noticing a slight stiffness to her.
"Lot on your mind?" Though it sounded like a question, it was really more of an observation.
She let out a derisive snort and shook her head.
"That's one way of putting it." The Padawan freely admitted. "Honestly? It's just… I don't know how to take it in really. My Master… My hero, the man training me to become a better Jedi, is breaking every rule in the book and is married behind the whole Orders' back."
"To be fair, rule breaking is kinda you and Anakin's MO." Peter said with a shrug, flinching at the deadpan that was directed at him. "N-not that there's anything wrong with that."
She frowned now. "It's not about that. It's about the fact that… Master's been lying to the Order, to Obi-wan, to…"
The sentence went unfinished but the message was clear.
Peter felt a bit awkward right now in doing this but he felt it necessary to do it all the same.
Clearing his throat, he rubbed the back of his neck, looking back out at the twin suns as he tried to formulate the proper words.
"Well… the thing is, he didn't really lie to you." Peter winced at his wording. "Ok look, yeah, he kept his marriage a secret. Way before even meeting you. And yeah, I know that it's against the Jedi Order to do it but… I don't really blame Anakin for doing so. I think if it wasn't for the war right now, Anakin maybe would have even left the Order for Padme if he was given a choice. But they both have their responsibilities to adhere to and it would be selfish of them to turn away from the galaxy when they were needed most."
"But-"
"And it's not that he doesn't trust you." He prevented her from talking back, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "He's letting you know now because he has absolute faith and trust in you. Not the Council, not Obi-Wan, not even any other Jedi or his… actually, don't know if his troops know or not but in the end, he chose to trust you above everyone else with this secret. You wanna know why?"
He had her face him entirely.
"Because he knows he can trust his Padawan because she trusts him."
"How can you say that?" Ahsoka's voice cracked for a moment. "He didn't tell me-"
"But he did." The Queens teen firmly stated, looking deep into her eyes with an intense gaze. "He trusts you more than anyone else, probably other than Rex or Obi-Wan. He knows it and you know it too."
There was a moment where she appeared unsure but slowly, a teary smile crept up on her face and without warning, leaned forward to rest head against Peters' shoulder.
He was certainly surprised by the gesture but was quick to respond, pulling her closer for a more proper embrace. He had his arms around her lower back while he felt her hands on his upper back, her head shifting a bit towards his cheek.
They stayed like that for a few seconds until Ahsoka abruptly pulled back.
"Wait." She had a deep frown directed at the now confused Peter. "Master Skywalker said all of the Avengers already knew about them."
"Uh-huh? Why, what's wrong?"
"Well, you said all this stuff about him trusting me by telling me and-"
Realization dawned on him and he quickly cut her off. "Oh, yeah, yeah, I see what you mean. Yeah no, he didn't tell us. We just figured it out on our own. Was rather easy actually."
"Wait, what?" Ahsoka was bewildered now. "You all just-"
"Yup." Peter said with a light laugh. "Was actually easy to, honestly. I know I'm not the best with girls but… Yeah, we all saw it."
Ahsoka gaped at her friend for a few moments before huffing with her cheeks puffed out.
Peter stared at her weirdly, fighting his lips from up turning. "Are you… are you pouting?"
She huffed again, dramatically turning her head away.
"No." She petulantly denied.
This only served to make Peter laugh at her plight.
"It's not funny!" Ahsoka childishly said.
"Yes it is." Peter said with no shame.
She proceeded to slap his arms and shoulders though with obvious no means of actually trying to hurt him. Peter simply played along as he defended himself in an exaggerated fashion.
Without realizing it, his instincts kicked in, catching her wrist and pulling her in close.
The two teens blinked at the sudden closeness of each other with neither making any moves to pull away. They simply stood there and stared into each other's eyes, the air around them quiet and a bit awkward.
Ahsoka cleared her throat and was about to move away when Peter prevented her from doing so.
She was confused by this action but then saw a focused look in his eyes. It was actually pretty intense but also… she didn't understand why but she was becoming drawn in but also flustered at the same time.
"P-Peter." Ahsoka managed out, her voice coming out unusually shy. "What're you-"
She couldn't finish what she was saying as she felt his hands beneath her chin suddenly. Her eyes were wide in anticipation as her head was tilted up slightly towards him. The Padawan watched as, despite having some color in his cheeks now, he moved forward towards her.
Ahsoka's heart rate practically skyrocketed now as she felt his breath mingling with her own, her eyes fluttering shut.
As all this was transpiring, Peter's mind was running at a thousand miles a minute, a pace matched by his beating heart.
He wasn't quite sure as to what he was doing right now… ok he knows exactly what he was doing right now as he was now only an inch away from Ahsoka. The webhead was unclear as to what had spurred this on in him except…
Peter couldn't fully explain what it was but there was some kind of nudge or push within him. It wasn't like a mental thing or even one from the heart but something far more primal, if that's what could be used to describe it. This sudden want or really, the already present desire for this beautiful Jedi within the recesses of his heart and mind.
It almost felt alien… actually, it was alien but also natural. Like some bit of inhibitions were lessened to enact on this feeling welling up inside of him.
There were a few seconds between the two where neither appeared to be willing to cross the threshold when the boy who instigated this moment moved once more.
He placed his lips upon hers in a chaste and delicate manner. Peter felt her freeze and as he pulled away, at the last second, Ahsoka reciprocated the gesture yet he had already moved back.
"Wh-" Ahsoka's breath was caught in her throat. "What was that?"
Whatever confidence Peter had suddenly dissipated in a dramatic fashion as his face became beat red and he began stuttering out one excuse after the other.
"I am so s-s-sorry Ahsoka! I-I-I-I d-don't kn-know I j-just, w-well ya see, I… I-"
He was effectively silenced when he felt Ahsoka place her fingers over his mouth. The spider-themed Avenger saw a look of hesitant conflict in Ahsoka's eyes before they morphed into one of resolute confidence.
Yet there was still a degree of shyness now for him to see.
"Can you try that again?" Ahsoka quietly asked, her orange cheeks darkening somewhat.
"Wha-"
"Just… again…"
He had never seen Ahsoka like this before. And to be quite honest, it was positively cute though the light of Tatooine's twin suns added another layer to someone he had begun to view as incredibly beautiful.
Those thoughts dwelled within Peters' mind as he inclined himself forward for another kiss, this one lingering for a few seconds longer before he pulled back.
"How was that?" He quietly asked.
Ahsoka shook her head, whispering, "Again."
Peter leaned forward and this kiss was far deeper than the previous two. The Avengers' arms pulled the Padawan closer whilst her hands were now on his chest, moving up.
They soon both pulled back, a little out of breath yet both seemed anxious for more.
"One more time." Ahsoka asked, her voice barely being heard by Peter.
He marginally nodded before reclaiming her lips again with far more desire than before. However it ended rather quickly after a few seconds with both now momentarily out of breath as that last one was a bit much.
There was a beat until…
"Again?" It was Peter this time who asked.
Ahsoka shook her head, leaning her forehead against his.
"Never stop." She desperately said in a whisper.
Upon hearing that, any reservations or pretenses of such a notion was thrown out the window. Peter kissed her with unrestricted passion, Ahsoka returning the same desire with equal intensity.
She had wrapped her arms around his neck, one hand running through his hair whilst the other tried to push him towards her as much as she could despite her leaning her entire body against his. Peter's own arms had been placed around her back, one hand moving down to where she let out a startled gasp as she arched her back slightly before resuming their make out session.
It got to the point where she was whimpering and moaning against him. This only served to further Peter's desire, a burning feeling of lust starting to consume him.
It didn't help that due to his enhanced senses, Peter was able to feel everything about her.
The feel of her soft skin, the sounds she kept making, her taste, her intoxicating scent, everything.
Ever since Mortis, so much of Peter and Ahsokas' wants and feelings have been festering, waiting to explode to the surface. Both boarding them up due to their worries and insecurities. Now, they were pouring out like a dam that had been burst open.
It was intoxicating, damn near addicting. This was too much and neither wanted to stop.
The only reason they did was that they had run out of air, pulling apart with both gasping heavily.
They had leaned against each other for support, foreheads touching with eyes locked.
"That… that was…"
"Yeah." Ahsoka finished for him, giggling like a schoolgirl.
Peter chuckled, arms wrapped around her lower back again with hers resting on his shoulders and fingers laced behind his head.
They stood there in each other's arms simply basking in the presence of one another until…
"So," Ahsoka eyed the boy inquisitively. "What brought this on?"
"Huh?" Peter said dumbly, eliciting another giggle from the Togruta.
"This." She emphasized. "You know~"
"Oh… Oh!" A healthy red hue dusted the New Yorker's cheeks as he once again stammered and stuttered to find an explanation.
It didn't help that Ahsoka was giggling again, flustering him even more.
"I just… I just felt that this was needed."
"Needed?"
Peter cleared his throat.
"With what happened on Mortis, I was worried about what might happen between us. The Son ruining what friendship and-"
"Yeah… don't remind me."
The pair shared a laugh before Peter became serious upon seeing Ahsoka bite her lip. He nudged her as a silent means of asking "what's wrong?"
"Thing is, I didn't know if it may have closed yourself off from everyone… even me."
"Not everyone." He corrected her. "And most certainly not you."
"Yet…"
"...Things would've been awkward and tense."
"Yeah, they would have… did I ever say how sorry I was for what happened on Mortis?"
"Yes, repeatedly. Both after we left that place and before we came here. I lost count after fifteen." Peter said cheekily. "Though you and I both know that it wasn't-"
"That was me." Ahsoka shook her head. "I just… it came out in the worst way possible."
"Hey, hey, these things happen." Peter assured her, cupping her cheek gently and making her look back up at him. "We just gotta shoulder it and press on, making sure we try to be better the day after. And if there's any trouble, we talk it out instead of bottling it up for too long."
"Master Yoda always told us to do or do not. There is not try." She whimsically said.
"Well ya can't do most things until ya try it so…"
She lightly batted his hand away in faux offense yet smiled all the same.
"So… Would you… wanna try this out?" Peter quietly asked. "Us together… dating, I mean."
Ahsoka pondered for a moment with a small smile. "Perhaps."
Peter let out a sigh of relief with his lips curling upwards for a smile.
"We'll just need to see how to bring Barriss in on this."
That ended up shutting down Peter's mind before having to reboot.
"You didn't forget about her, did you?" Ahsoka asked, greatly amused by the comically blank and short circuiting expression of her now yet to be declared boyfriend. "You do know that she's the one who wanted to go for this first, right?"
"I remember." Peter said in a quiet, squeaky voice like a mouse. "Just… still trying to process if this is some twisted dream. Two really, really attractive girls are into me and wanna go for a triple threat relationship."
"Well believe it, web head." Ahsoka pecked him on the lips. "You're ours now and we're yours."
The web-themed Avenger squirmed. "But it hasn't even been official."
He practically shivered when he felt her fingers trail beneath his chin. "Yet."
Peter hung his head in defeat. "May is gonna have a heart attack when she meets you two."
Ahsoka eased his worries by distracting him by kissing him once more.
"One step at a time." She whispered, locking lips again.
Peter simply surrendered to the moment, holding her close, running a hand up and down her back.
As the two continued chattering and exchanging a kiss every now and then, they were observed by two others from the entryway to the Lars homestead.
"She really does take after you." Padme remarked with a teasing grin directed at her flustered and conflicted husband.
"I don't know if I feel proud as much as I feel a need to be defensive but I know Peter and he's a great friend but if he ever does anything-"
"Ani, Ani, Ani." Padme managed to silence him, barely being able to restrain her laughter. "She's your Padawan right? Like your little sister?"
He slowly nodded.
"And Peter is a wonderful young man who understands your pain far greater than most."
"How do you-"
"I'm your wife, love. You become rather easy to read when you love someone."
Anakin sighed, nodding in acceptance to her prior statement.
"So just put their trust in them like you did when you told Ahsoka about us." Padme reached forward to place a tender hand upon his cheek. "They trust you and you trust them. Let them figure it out for themselves and we'll help where we can."
The Chosen One wanted to object, to try to find a counter to his wife's assertions but the happy sounds of his Padawan laughing at something Peter said killed any objections he had left. He simply sighed, nodding in acceptance and pulling his wife into his arms as they joined the new couple watching the twin suns of Tatooine set.
With the setting suns shining ever brighter at the horizon, certain shadows became ever more prominent.
For what was casted from Anakin was a tall menacing one which didn't fit the Jedi at all. Yet it was a part of him, whether he liked it or not.

Well holy fuck, you people are impatient as all hell.
Then again, with the cliffhanger we left behind, I can understand your desperation in wanting to see a new chapter after all that with Thor coming down from on high like he did. Seeing all your reviews, craving for an update was fun to see.
But we've been busy with our own matters as we've had some other stuff, life stuff primarily to take care of. Such as watching other Marvel shows and trailers.
Jebest4781: Moon Knight has been an interesting run these past weeks and enjoyed how it went. And this coming week will not only be its finale but also Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness.
FMW: And then there was also the Thor Love and Thunder trailer which is looking awesome cause it's gonna be using more of Jason Aaron's run of Thor as its backbone which is just perfect. His run of Thor is legendary by this point among comic book readers and to see it being used as the outline for Love and Thunder with its imagery, characters and story beats is too much fun.
But other than these trailers, shows and films, Jeb and I along with our comrade Bullet have also been hard at work in hammering out details for future arcs in our stories. Infinite Wars' outline was set in stone years ago but we also knew that certain arcs would be extremely difficult to adapt and change up due to how much of the canon we are changing so we've been having long sessions on discord where we talk for hours on end about how we should structure arcs and seasons and see how it would play out. So originally, this was meant to be a 5 season story. However, with these discussions, it's been changed to four but we're taking what was meant for season five and rolling them into seasons 3 and 4.
Jeb: This means certain arcs from the initial SW show will be left out as they won't fit with the overall narrative. Granted it'll be done with how drastic things will be very soon and be very necessary. Others will stay as they are greatly essential to certain character arcs. The rest will be adapted and we will not spoil which will be done.
FMW: Yeah, cause, in our discussion, though it hasn't been decided on what will go first, one of the last arcs of this season is gonna be ten chapters long, possibly even more. It's a sort of game changer arc akin to Ultron's coming out party at the end of season 2. It's also kinda like clearing the board so to speak for season 4 for the overarching plot of that season. Also, bet you guys weren't expecting Arishem to appear, were ya? Well come on, the One's in Star Wars were referred to as Celestials. Course he was gonna appear. But with his appearance, I have to say this again, no other Phase 4 properties will appear because this story has been planned out already. There is only ONE that shall make a proper showing in this story and that's coming after the next arc. It's one that Jeb, Bullet and I all agreed on doing as there are many opportunities in it that are too good to pass up on.
And before we bid you adieu… a treat for you all.
-Unidentified planet-
A singular ship landed before a decrepit ruin of a temple, the stone structure seemingly on its last legs.
The hatch of the ship opened and out jumped a robed man, throwing his hood back to reveal it to be Barel Ovair.
"This is the place." He muttered, looking up at the ruin as confirmation for himself.
He walked toward the ruins, hands grazing over a destroyed pillar when a chill was felt on the back of his neck.
"You certainly took your time."
Ovair whirled around, hand over his lightsaber though he relaxed upon seeing who it was.
A woman in red robes and bone-like decorations adorning parts of her attire.
Barel gave a small bow to the person before him. "Gethzerion. Quite the honor to finally meet you."
The Night witch of Dathomir flicked her hand. "No need for such pleasantries, boy. We have more pressing matters to attend to." She said before narrowing her eyes a little. "Do you have it?"
Wordlessly, the Night Witch saw Barel withdraw an item from a satchel hanging from his side.
Her eyes widened and a wicked grin found its way onto her face.
"The lightsaber of Exar Kun." She whispered in a reverent fashion, reaching out to take it until Ovair pulled it back.
She gave him an unamused look with him shooting a flat one right back at her.
"Would've brought it sooner with the others, but each were so powerful that I had to use much skill to hide them on each trip." Barel said, placing the lightsaber of the ancient dark lord back in his bag. "We're now one step closer to our goals."
"And what of your Jedi colleagues." Gethzerion asked in contempt. "Are they none the wiser to our plans?"
"Ultron has proven to be the perfect distraction that we needed. Regardless, I had to be precautious in smuggling these artifacts in case of anything."
The Night Witch only hummed, her disembodied voice echoing around them.
"And what of yourself." The "Jedi" questioned. "Were you successful in your own endeavors?"
Gethzerion silently held her hand up and with a flick up, green flames sprouted from her fingertips. They dispersed a second later to reveal a glowing object surrounded by hexagonal roots.
"I didn't think you would be able to get it." Barel freely admitted. "But to think-"
He leaned forward with his analytical eyes looking upon this seed-like object from all angles.
"With this… they can return. We can return." Barel now sounded a bit fanatical. "Our revenge shall finally be enacted as will pleasing our Goddess."
Gethzerion, however, didn't share in his excitement. Something that he noticed.
"What? I would have thought you would be ecstatic that our plans are starting to take shape after so long."
The Night Witch didn't reply right away, instead mulling in her thoughts.
"Is this truly what we seek?" Gethzerion questioned. "War upon the galaxy? Upon the Jedi and Banites?"
"What better time to enact what is needed to rectify this wrong." Spoke the "Jedi". "Bane and his pathetic Rule lived up to his namesake for the true Sith. An embarrassment if there was one."
"But will we succeed?" The Night Witch questioned. "I am fairly certain you are more than aware of the new set of enemies we have in the galaxy now, no?"
Barel became far more serious now, silently nodding.
"Yes, the Avengers." Ovair looked to the skies above. "They've changed much in this galaxy since their arrival."
"And it appears there is still more to come." She knowingly said, making Barel gaze upon her intently.
"...You felt it earlier, didn't you?"
"We all did." Spoke the Dathomirian woman. "It was like nothing we've ever felt before."
"Not like when the Avengers made their arrival to the galaxy?"
"Stronger and fiercer." Gethzerion said, glancing down at the seed in her hand. "In fact… it felt rather identical to that which lays dormant in here."
Barel was silent in his contemplation of her words. Over the past year, the Force has been completely thrown off kilter from what he was used to sensing.
A number of decades ago, his father felt a shift in the Force that it now held more prominence in the Dark Side.
They traced this shift back to the Sith under those who followed the Rule of Two.
Frankly, it was a welcomed blessing as this would only serve to incentivize the further plans of his family's true Masters. Decades upon centuries upon millennia of planning would soon come into fruition.
But the universe can be cruel.
All that was planned was now threatened to be completely ruined with the arrival of the Avengers and how drastic of a change they had made upon the galaxy.
It was frightening as it was infuriating to consider that a bunch of backwater individuals threatened thousands of years of planning. How great their ripples affect everything in the galaxy.
"What in the universe caused that to happen?"
"Wouldn't you like to know."
The Jedi and Night Witch jumped and instantly activated their weapons. A double bladed purple saber for the scholar and a green, wispy and fiery blade for the Witch.
"Oh, how adorable."
Before them was the Son, who was sitting on a boulder nearby. With a flick of his wrist, both lightsaber and ethereal weapon aimed towards him were snuffed out.
Both were stunned to say the least, faces expressing fear and hesitation as they faced the Celestial who remained sitting where he was.
"Who are you?" Barel questioned, hand slightly held out in case of anything happening.
"Someone who has been left out in galactic affairs for… far too long." The Son replied in a melancholy tone. "Honestly, who I am matters not. It is what I can do for you and you for me in return is what matters right now."
A silent conversation soon took place between Barel and Gethzerion before the "Jedi" spoke up.
"And what, pray tell, do you have to offer?"
"Many things." The Son held out his hand, a ball of black and red flames appeared before they unveiled something in particular. "This being among them."
What was seen in the Celestial's hand made the two Force users stand there in utter shock and disbelief.
A porcelain skull-like mask, one heavily cracked yet still intact. Red bars coming down onto the eye sockets with a brass piece of decoration set between them.
"That mask… How did you-"
"I have my ways after a short amount of time" The Son enigmatically said. "And I know who it is you serve and what it is you wish to do. You may hold a Celestial seed but you know not its greater secrets. But I do."
Barel and Gethzerion shared a look with each other, a silent conversation being shared between them both once more.
"What do you want in return?" The Former finally asked after a few more seconds of silence.
The Son only smirked menacingly, red eyes glowing brighter upon hearing this. "A number of things, which I would be happy to discuss with you and your compatriots."
Thank you all for reading.
