Poisoned- Shinobu
Mixing up the chemicals Shinobu knew just what this extract would do. Wisteria extract. It may have been dangerous, but Shinobu was a doctor, she knew how to deal with this stuff, and with being a demon slayer, wisteria was her speciality. It was what she worked with day in and day out. it was what covered her sword. Now she'd have it running through her blood.
The first bit of wisteria was so little, it wouldn't have been able to harm even a low-level demon. She honestly didn't notice it. but as the days went by and the poison gradually increased, she began to notice just a few things. Her skin had started paling, just a bit. Not that anyone would notice, she was somewhat pale anyway. It didn't take long till she could see her veins, they looked more prominent than her skin. But that wasn't a big deal. Nobody paid attention to that sort of thing. After a few weeks, the features became more noticeable, but by then she was spending more time with Tamayo than anyone else, and she was not against dying to defeat an enemy.
Bags started forming under her eyes, barely noticeable. She wasn't sure if it was from the excessive work and lack of sleep or the wisteria itself. maybe it just didn't matter. She was going to die soon anyway. The only thing keeping her going was her endless hatred for the demon who had killed her sister. Some days it was the only thing keeping her alive. She felt herself become filled from head to toe in poison, she even noticed her fingernail turning just slightly lilac. Maybe it was the poison or maybe her eyes were just going. She'd never know.
Now with days 'till Kagaya had guessed Muzan would come, Shinobu began to doubt herself. She didn't doubt sacrificing herself, that was something she was certain about. She doubted how much poison she should have taken. Maybe she'd been too impatient? She was sure she wasn't supposed to feel this sick. Almost unable to stand, her head was spinning, and she had to lean on a table for support. No way she would be able to fight like this. maybe she rushed it on accident, or did she accidently take a dose twice? But she was so sure she'd been careful about these things. No. there was no way she'd made a mistake. Either she hadn't realised the effects, or something had been deliberately messed with. First, she had to think of Tamayo, she was the one working with her all day. Was she as filled with hate towards Muzan as she said she was? Shinobu had trusted her. Somewhat.
It didn't make sense, so Shinobu ignored it, she didn't mess up, Tamayo had no reason to poison her, and she knew what this poison did. So, she ignored it and pushed through. Hoping it was the stress getting to her. Never noticing the weird purple eye in the corner of her medicine cabinet.
