"The Psychic Sidekick?" (Part 1)
An 'Absinthe and Usbegaugh' story - one is a series.
Early one morning in an English Manor House in the countryside:
"Basil... You sure of what you saw. Maybe you ate some bad cheese?"
This from Absinthe to the Mouse of the House: Basil Rat-Bone.
Basil: "My Lady Absinthe... Yes. I saw them plain as I'm seeing you!
Magic Fairies. Like the ones those 2 human girls saw long Time ago."
Absinthe stroked her furry chin with one paw. "Oh, really now! Pfui!"
Basil looked dejected. He thought a cat as brilliant as Absinthe would
be more open to his recent observation out in the garden last night...
Usbegaugh the House Dog then pipes up. "Gosh... You don't say, Basil?
I had a weird dream in the wee hours. At least it 'seemed' a dream. Aye!"
Suddenly Absinthe hears the Master's new wife approach, after waking.
"Sweet Absinthe... What can you and Usbegaugh be talking about?"
As the Lady of the House did not speak Cat or Dog, she drew a blank.
Thankfully, Basil the Mouse had already gone back to his 'hidey-hole'.
