Jay Halstead and Moose Mason lay comfortably in bed, their fingers intertwined as sunlight poured through the window. Their engagement was still fresh, and the two couldn't help but bask in the glow of their newfound happiness. Jay shifted slightly, propping himself up on one elbow to look at Moose.
"So," Jay began, his voice warm and playful, "since we're officially engaged, we need to start talking about wedding plans. Where do we start?"
Moose grinned, his excitement evident. "Well, first we pick a venue. Sweetwater River could be nice, or Pop's Chock-lit Shoppe, but I wouldn't mind somewhere out of Riverdale. What about Chicago? Or even Miami Beach?"
Jay considered it, his eyes lighting up. "Chicago would bring back a lot of memories for me, but I'm liking the idea of Miami Beach. Or... what about a destination wedding?"
"Like where?" Moose asked, intrigued.
"Rome, Santorini, Cancun, maybe even Hong Kong," Jay said, the possibilities making him smile. "It's a big decision, though."
Moose nodded. "Whatever we pick, it's gotta feel like us. But let's not forget the honeymoon. We could go full adventure mode in Hong Kong or relax on the beaches of Santorini."
Jay chuckled. "Knowing us, we'll probably end up doing both."
As their conversation drifted to their future, Jay leaned back against the headboard, a thoughtful expression crossing his face. "You know," he began, "I've always thought about running a bed-and-breakfast. Something cozy, where people feel like they're at home. What do you think?"
Moose's eyebrows shot up, impressed. "That actually sounds amazing. We'd be great at it. You'd handle the guests, and I'd whip up breakfast in the kitchen."
Jay smirked. "Or vice versa. I make a mean pancake."
"Prove it," Moose teased.
A few minutes later, Jay disappeared into the kitchen and returned with a tray holding two plates of pancakes, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, and two mimosas. Moose's eyes lit up as Jay set the tray on the bed.
"Okay, fiancé," Moose said, picking up a fork. "You're already spoiling me."
Jay shrugged, a playful glint in his eyes. "Get used to it. This is the kind of love you signed up for."
As they ate, the conversation turned lighthearted. Jay leaned over, stealing a bite from Moose's plate. "This is what married life looks like, huh? Stealing food and drinking mimosas in bed?"
"Absolutely," Moose said, laughing. "But only if you keep calling me 'fiancé.'"
Jay grinned. "Alright, fiancé. I think we're off to a great start."
Their laughter was interrupted by a buzz from Jay's phone. He picked it up, frowning slightly before reading the text.
Betty: The only case in Riverdale today is you and Moose enjoying your quality time. Don't let me down.
Jay showed the text to Moose, who burst out laughing. "For a second, I thought it was Hailey again."
Jay laughed too, setting the phone aside. "Betty's got jokes, huh?"
Moose shrugged, his smile softening. "She's not wrong. We deserve this."
The conversation drifted back to wedding planning. Jay tapped his fingers against the tray, mulling over ideas. "What about the entertainment? Wedding singers?"
Moose leaned back, thoughtful. "I mean, Taylor Swift would be amazing, but Harry Styles and Olivia Rodrigo would be fun too."
Jay smirked. "Or Veronica. You know she'd steal the show."
"Absolutely," Moose agreed, laughing. "And for food... we've gotta have something for everyone. Pop's burgers and milkshakes, sure, but let's get fancy with seafood or a carving station."
Jay nodded. "And dessert? Definitely a tiered cake. Something classic but with a twist."
Moose grinned, clearly loving the brainstorming. "We're planning the party of the century, Jay."
Moose suddenly leaned closer, his expression shifting to something mischievous. "You know, they say farting with your fiancé strengthens your romance."
Jay raised an eyebrow. "Do they really?"
Moose nodded seriously. "Absolutely. It's a fact."
Jay laughed, shaking his head. "Alright, let's hear your facts, Dr. Mason."
Before Jay could say another word, Moose unleashed a loud, unapologetic fart. Jay blinked, momentarily stunned, before bursting into laughter. "Oh, it's like that, huh?"
"Your turn," Moose challenged, grinning.
Jay rolled his eyes but obliged, letting out his own. The two dissolved into laughter, kissing in between their fits of giggles, despite the now-questionable air quality of the room.
Meanwhile, in Veronica's apartment, she was on a four-way call with Betty, Jughead, and Archie.
"So, how's life?" Veronica asked, sipping her coffee.
Archie and Betty, seated together, exchanged a smile. "Pretty great," Betty said. "We're just relaxing today."
Jughead chimed in from his workspace. "I'm swamped with articles for the town newspaper, but Tabitha's been a lifesaver, helping at Pop's."
Tabitha's voice floated in from the background. "I'm just making up for lost time!"
Veronica laughed. "Sounds like everyone's got their hands full. Meanwhile, I'm just sitting here wondering why the air smells weird."
Archie frowned. "Yeah, Betty and I were noticing that too. Is it just us?"
Jughead tilted his head, sniffing the air. "Nope. Something's definitely... off."
Tabitha appeared in Jughead's background, wrinkling her nose. "It's coming from the dining area."
As the group puzzled over the mystery, Veronica's phone buzzed with a text from Jay. Her eyes widened as she read it.
Jay: Sorry about the smell. Moose and I are doing... science. It's the thin walls.
Veronica's jaw dropped as she burst out laughing, causing the others to stare at her in confusion.
"What is it?" Betty asked.
"Oh, nothing," Veronica said, grinning slyly. "Just Jay and Moose proving their love in a very... natural way."
Archie groaned. "Please don't elaborate."
As Jay and Moose continued their lazy morning, their laughter and love filled the air. They knew their wedding would be spectacular, their future bright, and their love unshakable—even if it occasionally came with questionable smells.
