Chapter 6 - Bella POV
It had been two weeks since I'd first arrived at Volterra. Aro had given me my own quarters with the other two Queens Sulpicia and Athenadora, as well as my own office and library. I'd been introduced to the guard and Demetri had been made my personal bodyguard. Everyone knew who I was. The only time that I had to stay in my quarters was when everyone was feeding.
Finally the day that we'd all been waiting for had arrived. The Cullens had arrived which meant that soon we would be able to begin the coven's trial. The only ones who weren't on trial were Jasper and Emmett. Jasper would be joining our coven as my personal body guard. I couldn't keep Demetri from the elite guard any longer.
Demetri and I were walking towards the throne room when he spoke up. "May I speak freely?" He asked me.
"Of course." I said.
"Are you sure you want to make Whitlock your guard?" He asked me.
I smiled. Demetri was always trying to look out for me. "Jasper would never intentionally hurt me, Dem." I told him. He nodded as we continued our walk towards the throne room.
When we reached the throne room, I took my place between Aro and Marcus. Demetri stood behind me, awaiting orders. "Are we ready to begin?" Aro asked. Caius, Marcus and I all nodded our agreement. Felix brought in Edward. While the rest of the Cullen's stood in the back of the room. "Ah, Edward."
"You need to release me. I've done nothing wrong." Edward said. He looked ferocious.
"You've committed several crimes, Edward." Aro said.
"I've committed no crimes. Let me go!"
I chuckled from my spot next to Aro. "Oh Edward! You've committed crimes that you don't even know that you've committed." I said.
"Bella, my love, please get Aro to release me so that we can go home." Edward pleaded.
"Edward, I am home." I told him. "You are not my mate. Aro is my mate." I said. I could feel myself getting angry and I tried to calm down. Aro grabbed my hand and gently squeezed it. After a few moments, I spoke again. "Now. Edward, the kings and I have found you guilty on three counts. The first, not turning a human. The second, misguiding a human into thinking you were going to change said human. And the third, failure to alert the kings about said human." I said.
"I'VE DONE NOTHING WRONG! RELEASE ME!" Edward shouted.
I was fed up. I stood up from my throne and made my way down the steps. "Edward, all of this could have been prevented if you had just changed me when I asked you to." I said.
"I won't let you become a soulless creature like me." Edward said.
"That isn't your decision." I said.
"Now Edward," Aro started, "Do you wish to say anything else before sentencing?" Edward didn't say anything. "Very well, Edward, I hereby sentence you to death." Aro said, before nodding to Demetri who still stood behind me.
Demetri moved from his place and joined Felix where he stood behind Edward. Demetri pulled his head off while Felix held him still. They continued dismembering Edward until his entire body was in pieces. Then Alec joined them, starting a fire to burn all the body parts. When they had finished, Aro had dismissed the court.
"Shall we discuss your transformation, now?" Aro asked me.
